Belcampo Meat Co. Is Reportedly Under Investigation By the Federal Government | Eater SF

"I learned that after almost 20 years and a long run as a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand recommendation, Thai House Restaurant will close on December 24 because co-owners Sam Sendee and Marysa Sendee intend to retire, and that the restaurant’s various sauces will soon be available for purchase online." - Paolo Bicchieri

Today my wife and I enjoyed this wonderful Thai Restaurant. I highly recommend! I had Broccoli Beef yum! And my wife and I split Tom Kha Gai Soup very good! And my wife had Pineapple Fried Rice, yum. Service was attentive and caring! She kept my Tea full and followed up multiple times to ensure we were good. This is our new go-to Thai restaurant! Hope to see you there!

We thought of trying this place out, since we enjoy Thai food and we’re always on a search to find the best in the area. We got the pork and shrimp shomai, which they call dumplings. The wrap was on the sticky side and the flavor seemed a little off. Not the best I’ve had. When it comes to Thai food, I always want to try their Pad Thai, and well, it was a bit of a disappointment. It was very light in flavor and had very little sauce if any. It wasn’t bad. I just prefer it with more sauce and flavor, which it didn’t have, so I wasn’t a fan. The Basil Fried rice was pretty good. It seemed like the others I’ve tried before, so if I was to return, I’d probably order that again. My boyfriend likes to try the pad kee-mow and this one was a let down for him, since it didn’t have the same taste that he likes.

Google
The service was wonderful. There were two girls working and they were very friendly and welcoming, always smiling. The food was amazing. I usually get drunken noodles with flat noodles, but this time I tried it with glass noodles and it was really, really good. The prices were very affordable.

Google
The food here is great, all though the prices have been increasing recently, the pad thai, curry and everything is great. The service however was not so good. I am a regular here and usually my service is decent but today it was horrible. I waited extra long for my food and the waitress brought us our check mid meal without even checking on us or asking if we wanted anything else. Furthermore, after I ate and decided I wanted to order togo, I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for her to even notice us waiting and an extra 20-30 minutes for the food. I even noticed the table near me who got here before me talking about the service and how they could’ve been done eating 30 minutes ago. Overall food is great but the waitresses need to be retrained.

✨Best Thai Food in Arlington✨ We love the flavors of every dish we’ve tried here. You can customize the spice level on each dish and our only complaint is that their prices are really high for the portion sizes. 🥘 We love ordering the Tom Yum, Drunken Noodles, Sum Tum (papaya salad), Roasted Duck, and Mango Sticky Rice. 🍗Our yellow curry had chicken in it and the chicken was a little overcooked and dry. 🥡 We typically do take out-here, and it’s ready in about 20min. We have also eaten in the restaurant and the decor seems outdated but the service was always really attentive and good. Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone! I think it has the best flavors of any Thai restaurant in Arlington.

Google
Amazing wonderful place. They have such great food with lots of fresh vegetables and sauces. Everything is always correct and hot and the owners are so kind. They listen to your spice levels too, so it's just right and not overpowering, but spicy enough when you want it to be. It's our go to place for wonderful Thai food.

Google
I absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant point I was able to speak a little bit of Thai, which was nice that the waiter was from Northern Thailand. So then we had an interesting short conversation. I tried a new dish and it was delicious! they fill up the restaurant with the Thai artwork was just very nice. They had great pictures. It was spacious and clean and the food was amazing. I would definitely go back!

Google
Tucked away around the corner from the mall. Friendly service lots of seating. Ordered several dishes with a different level of spice. That way we wouldn’t overdo it by too hot too soon. The Thai fried rice excellent flavor and big portions. Prices really good too. The Thai noodle with chicken a level 4 was very good. We thought just a few limes to squeeze might have improved. But that’s just us. Still very tasty. The Thai garlic dish we went with level 5 and it was just right served with a heart shaped serving of white rice. Really flavorful and the veggies cooked just how we like them. We had good size portions and still had leftovers. Definitely coming back here when in the area. Want to try some of the other items they have.

Yelp
The Thai House never disappoints! The flavor, service, and overall deliciousness are always consistent no matter when I go. You can truly taste the care they put into every dish. It's absolutely worth the drive -- I've tried other Thai restaurants, but none compare to the quality and flavor here. Every visit feels like a treat! A decade and counting.

Yelp
The food is just okay. There isn't a ton of flavor. We ordered the tum yum, veggie soup, Thai fried rice and spicy basil fried rice. The portion size was decent. The service was lackluster. The place was very slow and the people there were just standing around and talking. It took some time for them to come to the table and to follow up. The experience was meh. I will likely not come back.

Yelp
Normally the food is hot and delicious Today my main dish was barely warm and some of the veggies were cold warm, the steamed rice over cooked crispy in places, ans my friend's duck was dry. Very disappointing

Yelp
Super convenient place to get some quick and delicious Thai food. The thai tea is so refreshing and on the sweeter side (which I love). And all of the dishes were so yummy. Not only that, but the portions are pretty big! The spice level goes up to 5 but I feel like non spice lovers can easily go up to 2. As someone who likes a bit of spice, level 3 was perfect for me. The servers are all so nice and the prices are so decent. Would definitely come again if I'm ever in the area.

Benekia M.

Yelp
Took myself on a late lunch date. The place was not busy. The staff was nice. I ordered Drunken Noodle spice level 3 with shrimp, it was good and hot. The mango sticky rice was good. Portions are smaller.

Yelp
We returned after a little gap of time. It is a little more relaxed atmosphere with no Kimonos, just T-Shirts. But that did not hinder the food or excellent service. We started with Curry Puffs. My sponsor selected the delightful Drunken Noodles with shrimp. I have been trying all kinds of Soups. I ordered Tom Yum Goong a Hot and sour shrimp soup. We both enjoyed our evening. My sponsor questioned another dish with fermented lettuce, the chef told her not to order it since she had never eaten it before. Nice gesture of protection. We will definitely return.

Yelp
The papaya sale was decent . I do appreciate that it didn't have an overbearing taste of fish sauce . You can definitely tell that it was more Americanized than anything else which wasn't a problem. It was enjoyable, but nothing close to what I'm use to . The chances of me coming back to this restaurant for that exact dish is closer to never going to happen . However, I did get the opportunity to look over the menu while there and there are a few things that I'm open to returning to try . Seemed like a really chill place to dine at . I seen a decent number of mixed race relationships . My phone number being from out of town , I appreciated and respected him double checking to make sure I knew the location and what I was ordering .

Yelp
I ordered the Pad See Eew and spring rolls. Very flavorful and quick delivery. I can't wait to try another dish

Yelp
Coming from Southern California, with all the Thai places this is Great Thai Food! Service was superb, clean and great Thai ambience. Spice can be adjusted from 1-5, which was great for some customers that may not be used to Thai food. Definitely a great spot in Arlington.

Linden S.

Yelp
I usually only order take out, but this place reminds me so much of the foods I grew up with! The people are always friendly and quick with service, and I've never had a bad meal!

Yelp
My go to thai restaurant in arlington. The service is amazing and servers are always so kind. My go to order is the cheese rolls, chicken tom yum soup. beef pad c ew and chicken yellow curry.
google avatar

Yelp
Still one of my go to places for thai food in Arlington. Panag curry with chicken + potatoes level 4 spicy still one of my favorites. Appetizer sampler gives you a good sample of a few different appetizers if u can't decide on one! Fish in thai sauce had a nice sweet and sour taste. If you're not big having your fish drenched in sauce, I suggest requesting the sauce to be on the side. Fish was a good size and was crispy.

Yelp
Great food and service. We've been eating at the Thai House for years and it's always been fantastic.

Yelp
We've been coming here for a couple of months now, several times. The service is great! You get your food quickly, the seating is always nice and the room is warm and cozy, and the food is always amazing!! You won't regret eating here! Ark is a great server and very friendly and efficient. Check this place out immediately!!

Yelp
Thai House became a staple for lunchtime while at work, and also for dinnertime at home with the family. They have generous helpings of food and everything is always tasty! I can always be sure that it is going to be quality food with fresh ingredients. The restaurant itself is very clean and neat. It's a casual scene, and the service is pretty fast. The owners are always so friendly when you go to pick up your food. There's something so underrated about asking how someone's day is going, but whenever they asked me, I just always felt like they saw me! I have to mention their lunchtime special. It's worth it! You have many options as an entree and it comes with a spring roll. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and authenticity of their food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very good food and very cheap i got 2 appetizers 2 meals and side of soup for 40 dollars

Yelp
I was on the road and starving, of course you can never go wrong with Thai food. I decided to place an order over the phone and go pick it up. I ordered beef with flat noodles and chicken fried rice. Both dishes were delicious. Only slight issue was heat, I asked for level 3 and there was no heat at all. When I walked in it's a cute, dimly lighted, and clean restaurant. Couple people were seated and enjoying their meals. The lady who cashed me out was very kind. It was a nice, but brief experience. Next time I go back, I'll dine in.

Yelp
Had a quick lunch at this place since it was in the vicinity of one of my errands. Did a quick Yelp scan and saw it had a healthy rating with customers and gave it a try. (I trusted you guys ) Anyways, seems like a nice family-owned restaurant with friendly service. Scanned their menu and had to try some Thai staples like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao ('drunken noodles' or aka 'Thai cousin of Chinese beef flat noodles') and their Massaman Curry. 1) I think Pad Thai with chicken was okay. 2) Pad Kee Mao w/beef could have been tastier. It came with a small portion of flat rice noodles which were fine, and beef strips that were too chewy for me to enjoy chewing. I'd pick a different meat and ask for more noodles. (IMHO, even if beef is not velveted with baking soda or corn starch like in a Chinese restaurant, I feel that beef could have benefited from a quick sear instead of its overcooked, chewy texture. 3) Onto the Massaman Curry with beef...the curry flavor was similar yet foreign to me. I couldn't figure out why it tasted so different from other versions I've tried. Once again, the same beef strips were tough and not flavorful. The curry was not fragrant. Simply put, tasted better everywhere else I've tried. Overall, Pad Thai could be ordered again. Might try the duck curry dish if I ever come back. I don't regret coming here. Staff was nice. I recall trying 'Sunny Thai' in Arlington and enjoyed that meal but it was a bit of a drive away.

Yelp
As a local, this is one of my go-to spots for dependable and simple thai food! The staff is also the sweetest :,-) I think it's family-owned and operated, so I love to support when I can. When I recently went, there was only 1 server (an older gentleman who reminded me of my dad LOL) but a couple of full tables, but he was still attentive to us! I felt taken care of :3 I usually order the pad thai or drunken noodles (spice level 1 or 2 because I am weak) and it's always solid. I also tried the combo of appetizers that came w a variety of sweet/sour and peanut sauce, and all the apps were sooo crispy and hot! I'm actually obsessed with the cheese rolls because it's like a crab rangoon filling in a crispy egg roll skin, and I KID YOU NOT, the cheese filling is so rich and melts in your mouth... I'm still replaying the bite in my head. The other apps were ok, so I recommend the cheese roll to try first! The drunken noodles were so flavorful and the noodles were a perfect texture! They give a good amount of vegetables and chicken too, and the chicken is not as dry/rubbery as other thai places that I've had! Will come back here whenever I'm craving Thai food but don't want to drive too far!

Yelp
Ordered Chicken pad Thai extra chicken. Calamari appetizer Roasted Duck The good. Chicken pad Thai. Nice balance at a 2* The bad Portion size on calamari was slight. And it was overcooked. Duck was not great. Overcooked. Not at all tender. All the duck fat was rendered away. The vegetables on the side mixed. Some just perfect. Some tasted off. All the tastes were good. But that couldn't save the duck. And the calamari was a bit rubbery. As to portion sizes. The calamari wasn't the expected portioning. The duck is advertised as a half a duck. It was not half duck. At least not an adult. And overcooking didn't help. And for the price? Just underlined the disappointment. I'll still order from them. But not the calamari or the duck.

Yelp
Not great. When we went they were out of coffee, out of black rice, which was disappointing. I ordered the Tom yum soup, i couldn't eat more than a drop, it was not good, and smelled really bad. My entree was okay, everything except the protein was unseasoned (I.e., the rice and the chili sauce), which was also disappointing. I got level 5-Thai spice and it didn't even sizzle. The sweet sticky rice was meh. Definitely the worst Thai food I've had in the dfw. The people were nice, but I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Noodles were amazing!! It's a great amount of chicken. Way more than I have ever had in a dishes for the price!! Very nice owners when I walked in to pick up. Fast and reliable orders ready to go in a decent time. The place was clean and welcoming!

Yelp
Overall ok experience here. Clean, decent size portion and price is affordable. Service is okay. Just a note: Don't know WHY most restaurants feel the need to sugar up everything ??? Sugar is bad for our health. We wanted to try their pad see ewww. It was not bad but most Asian food here are not authentic like in Asia, unfortunately. In Dallas, rare that we see a 4 star reviews and I understand why now.

Yelp
I'm in Texas from California visiting Love Thai food so I stopped in to order take out because my husband doesn't like Thai Once I was done ordering I asked if they'd be ok with my husband eating his food he ordered elsewhere on the restaurant & they were ok with it Food was reasonable priced & delicious Great customer service Beautiful restaurant Thank you guys for the great hospitality

Jodie W.

Yelp
Recommend the Spicy Thai Basil, but everything I've had here is exceptional. This place is very clean, uses fresh ingredients, and has excellent customer service. I've been going here for over 10yrs and is hands down the best in Arlington (or this side of town). Truly a hidden gem!
google avatar

Corie B.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant multiple times and I'm just now getting to review it. The restaurant service was excellent! Very attentive server and friendly. We ordered the curry puffs, Thai basil, and Eggplant Thai plates. I got heat level 1 because I personally feel that their heat is spicier compared to other places. Curry puffs were delicious and freshly made. Our Thai plates were fresh and super delicious! Highly recommend this place for your next Thai craving!!!!! Thanks again for the great food and service!

Yelp
The food and the service were excellent. The restaurant was also pleasant inside and looked and smelled clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will go back again.

Kat R.

Yelp
Quiet little Byob place with the best Green Curry and Tom Tom Kai I've ever had anywhere and I've had it everywhere. I can't recommend much else because I mainly order that. It's simply the best in the land. I love the Thai House and the staff are lovely!

Vi T.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious. The server was nice and tentative. It was amazing to eat in a place with the setting that matches the food too.

Bryce G.

Yelp
Thai House has been a restaurant my best friend and I have gone to for the last 15 years. It has never disappointed and is truly a MUST have! They have the BEST DRUNKEN NOODLES of all time! I am also a huge fan of their Tom Kha soup! Their staff is so kind and truly makes your feel like family. We went the night before Thanksgiving and were welcomed so kindly. I could go on and on about how incredible it is -- but you'll have to try it yourself to find out! Be sure to leave a big ole tip if you go! It is well deserved!
google avatar

Yelp
this place was such a nice and warm ambiance! the service here is really nice and attentive. we got the sampler which was such a good idea, there was two of everything and everything was so good. i loved the chicken satay, the fried cheese was so so good, and the corn fritters too! we also got the country curry. we got spice level 2 and it was pretty spicy but just enough to make it enjoyable and tasty! the curry was more like a soup since it didn't have coconut milk, but it was so healing and warm. it felt like a dish you get when you're sick! we also got this noodle dish with chicken, i love flat noodles and the chicken was so good. this dish was so flavorful, and had so many good veggies. overall, really solid place and delicious food! the prices are also really good too, would come here again

Yelp
It's no good ! Service was terrible- We asked the waiter what's the popular dishes here - he don't know . We ordered combination appetizers Vegetables basil noodles ( my noodles were burnt ) Seafoods curry noodles They charged us 11.95 for the curry Plus $4.50 for 1 shrimp , 1 scallops , 1 small oyster , 2 piece of fake crabmeat & then additional charges for the noodles $3 $20 for seafoods noodles ( broken down into 3 side orders , charges Total bill was $55 plus tips . save your money & go to Real Thai , so much better there

Eliminator H.

Yelp
Really good food. This will always be the family Thai restaurant for my family. Good food. Good staff and good prices
google avatar

Yelp
This place used to be great pre-Covid. Always got the chicken pad Thai which came with a tiny salad. The salad dressing was orange-looking and so delicious that we always asked if we could buy it by the container. It's reopened for in-person dining and the chicken pad Thai is not the same. Slightly watery and the chicken is very bland. No more salad. Good service and portion size. Price ($10.95) is wonderful. With Jasmine tea and tip was $17.56. Clean and inside is nice looking.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my meal here. I ordered off the lunch specials, which come with a spring roll and soup. Spring roll was standard. Soup of the day (tom kha gai) was not nearly as thick and creamy as I would have liked. But it was a nice little opener. For my main dish, I opted for the crispy fish and holy moly that plate was HUGE! So much fish, so much sauce, so many vegetables. And the flavors... they nailed it. Crispy fish is one of my favorite things to order when I go out for Thai since it's one of the classics that I don't make at home and Thai House did not disappoint with their rendition. The spicy brown sauce was spot on. I would order this again in a heartbeat. Nice ambiance and prices are as good as it gets. Paid $23 with tax and tip for two lunch specials. Excellent value. Service was very friendly - although as other reviewers have pointed out, they are pretty serious about their business hours. Once 2:30 pm hit, we definitely felt like they were nudging us to leave. I suppose that seems rude to some people but I can live with it. I went in knowing that they do a very limited lunch hour, so I was prepared to get out the door. I will definitely return.
google avatar

Brittni A.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years but my order yesterday was flavorless garbage. I ordered the shrimp basil fried rice. Someone either ran out of the seasoning they usually have or just didn't care to add it. I probably won't be coming back to this spot.
google avatar

Lizzie G.

Yelp
Eh... especially for the price point in comparison to the serving, I'd say this places value just isn't there. The pad see ewe was quite bland. Overall, disappointed and will frequent some of my others I've found in the area instead.

Yelp
I feel terrible for noticing I haven't written a review for this place yet! HANDS DOWN the BEST THAI RESTAURANT for miles!! Right in arlington, down the road from UTArlington and across from the Parks Mall In Arlington. If you want authentic, delicious, Thai food, this place is it! The decor and what the waiters wear speaks volumes about how proud the owners are of their Thai heritage. I've been going to this Thai restaurant for years, I'm talking about since 2009, and they have stuck to their roots, and are still making the same great Thai food. When you walk in, you'll always get immediately greeted and seated! The menu is easy to read, and the people there are always so sweet. I usually get the pad Thai, pad-c-ew, and the papaya salad. I have never had any pad Thai in DFW as succulent, creamy, & delicious as theirs. And they always work well with me, I always put my vegetables on the side. ADVICE: get the Thai tea and pad Thai, corn patties, and def cheese rolls!!! Pad-c-ew too. And papaya salad. Keep in mind their hours too!!

Amy M.

Yelp
Love this place! Cheese rolls excellent The staff is awesome Very attentive very relaxing atmosphere
google avatar

Jade C.

Yelp
Ordered take-out here and it was amazing right off the bat and even after re-heating it later on. I got the red curry with chicken at medium heat level. Amazing flavor, seems to be good quality and good sized portion. I'd definitely order from here again.
google avatar

Nancy V.

Yelp
We live about 25 minutes (in Fort Worth) from Thai House, but we make the drive because they have such good Thai food. Our favorite that keeps us coming back? Their cheese rolls. I don't even think it's Thai, it's just absolutely amazing. Perfectly crunchy shell with manufactured yellow cheese in the middle (seriously it's a really weird yellow) and it is lip-smacking delicious. My go-to is always the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, sometimes I order with tofu. My husband orders their Pad Thai at a 3 spicy level. Their papaya salad is also the perfect combination of spice and sour! If you live in Arlington, give them a try. If we purposely drive 50 minutes roundtrip to dine here, that goes to say something, amiright?
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
We've been eating here for a long time - and for whatever reason, they seem to have gotten even better lately. The papaya salad, pad Thai, pad soon sen, all were excellent last time we carried out.
google avatar

Caroline N.

Yelp
Super nice people here, portions are large so you get your money's worth (even though prices are reasonable to begin with). They have a 1-5 spicy scale that applies to all foods in order to accommodate all guests, which I appreciated greatly since I'm a wuss when it comes to spice. I ordered the drunken noodle, which was delicious and very filling.
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
My office ordered take out from here and I think everyone enjoyed their dishes. They were even nice enough to pack everything up separately, clearly labelled what was in each bag as well as forks and napkins. I even ended up ordering take out from them over the weekend as I enjoyed them. Currently I've only tried the noodle and fried rice dishes but I'm game for trying their other dishes too. I always try to find a good Chinese take out place but I think Thai has won instead!

Yelp
We have been to the Thai House twice now and both times we have had a good experience. The Thai food is very good. The service has been top notch. The place is a good size with table service. Located in a strip mall. Good crowd but we always get a seat. The spice smell is a little strong inside so you will smell like the place when you leave. Gets into my nose and stays a bit. For appetizers we have had the curry puffs. They are small fried flaky pastry with potatoes, chicken and curry flavors very good. The fried cheese rolls are good too. You will also get a small salad before your meal. For main course I get the Pad C-EW with pork. This is my go to Thai meal. I love the flat noodles and the flavors of the meal. My husband gets the Yellow Curry meal which is a soup with potatoes and chicken and rice and lot of curry flavors. This is his go to Thai meal. The restaurant is BYOB so bring a crisp white wine a little fruity it will go good with the meal. Something like a Riesling or a Sauvignon blanc. The menu is full of other tasty items good for the adventure if you have not tried Thai food. The Thai House is a great place to check out.

Omar D.

Yelp
Located in a small, unassuming spot in town, Thai House is a bit of a hidden gem. Excellent lunch special pricing during the week, but even at regular pricing, the food is well worth it. I especially love their red and green curries. Outstanding service by friendly, attentive staff.
google avatar

Terry G.

Yelp
I really like Thai House. The food is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, the service is good, and they are BYOB. We have been here several times and each time we have left happy and full. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the curry puffs they are so light and flaky and just melt in your mouth goodness. Pretty much everything we have eaten here has been very good but my favorite to date is the Crispy Roast Duck. Just the name alone tells you all you need to know about this dish. It's fried roasted duck breast and man is it ever good. I really like the small salad that they bring out before the meal. But not as much as the duck. Hehehe Great job guys.
