16 Casual Restaurants in South Beach

"So it might not be your most formal night out, but the colorful, ornate Thai decor is downright charming in this comfortable South Beach restaurant. The pad thai is flavorful and heaping with a sweet tang and soft noodles, along with the pad kee mao. This is a good bet for a reasonably priced dinner with friends before you blow your cash on way too many vodka sodas at Do Not Sit On The Furniture." - alyson penn, ryan pfeffer

Thai House South Beach was excellent. I got the spicy noodles with chicken and they were perfect — just the right level of heat and packed with flavor. We also had the wonton soup and gyozas, and everything we tried was great. The staff was exceptionally attentive and made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

The calling is leaking and when the food was brought to us the water dripped on the food. We did not realize that until we started eating. How can I restaurant not know that there is a leak and they are seating customers where the dirty water is going In the food. When we told the staff there they pretended as if they did not know about it. They moved us to another table and separated those tables and then they had customers walk in and have them sit there again on those separated tables. This is very disgusting and not healthy and a clean.

I had a great experience at this Thai restaurant! The service was fast and super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted authentic and homemade, just like in Thailand. The portions were generous — you definitely get your money’s worth! I also really appreciated the beautiful packaging for takeout, perfect for bringing leftovers home. The restroom was clean, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real Thai flavors and great service

Google
Order take out be cause I was too lazy to go out, read some reviews about this restaurant and decided to give it a try since it’s nearby, I regret to order the “spicy” seafood salad, it was plenty hot because I saw some reviews saying the “spicy” isn’t very spicy but I was wrong, the salad itself was great, it contains mussel, scallop, shrimp and squid. The fish cake was the highlight of the day, good texture and packed with flavor which reminded me the shrimp cake I had on the street in Thailand, green curry was decent and the rice was well cooked.

The food was really tasty and flavorful. We had the Thai Basil fried rice and Masammam curry. The potion size were huge. I highly recommend this place.

Google
Food was pretty good and I had a good experience. I did takeout another time and they charged me 20% tip for takeout.

I have been dining here for 30 plus years. It is by far the best Thai restaurant in Miami-Dade county. The food is consistently great 👍. The service is spectacular. The atmosphere is also great. There is no loud music interfering with your conversation. What I like the most is how welcoming the staff are and they treat you the same way whether you are spending a lot or coming for lunch. I highly recommend this restaurant and you will have a delicious meal and a delightful experience!

Google
After moving to Miami Beach for three weeks, I had a hard time finding a decent Asian restaurant. Fortunately, my wife recommended this spot. The location is not in the most touristy area. You have to walk a bit further and pass the Española Way, but it's well worth it. The restaurant is very nicely renovated and has an authentic Thai look. It wasn't too busy when I arrived. They have a large selection on the menu, but this time I ordered Pad Thai Seafood. The service was very fast, and the dish was delicious, especially after being unable to eat authentic Asian dishes for three weeks. If you are looking for a Thai restaurant in the area, I strongly recommend this place.

Yelp
if you're in Miami and craving some real Thai food, let me put you on Thai House in South Beach is IT. As soon as you walk in the smell hits you. Straight up crab fried rice in the air but I didn't order it but dang it smelled GOOD The vibe super warm and homey like clearly people know this spot. But here's the real tea if you're Thai, congrats!! They also have Thai version of the menu. So here's what I ordered: * spicy raw shrimp (Goong Chae Nam Pla) omg... this one SLAPS. Spicy, sour, full-on flavor explosion. I was lowkey sweating but couldn't stop eating it. * Boat noodles LIKE?? Where else are you gonna find authentic boat noodles like this outside of Bangkok?! This was giving serious Anusawari (Victory Monument) vibes. Rich broth, tender meat, perfect noodles. A 10/10 * Braised beef tendon it was sooooo good Melt. In. Your. Mouth. Tender, juicy, flavor-packed. I was in heaven. * Crispy mussel pancake (Hoy Tod) Okay but this? Gave Yaowarat Street Food energy. Crunchy edges, fresh mussels, bean sprouts, sweet-spicy sauce... PERFECTION. Everything was fire. No misses. The staff were super sweet and the service is Top tier. Honestly, if you're in Miami, Thai House is a MUST. It's not just dinner, it's a whole experience. This place is legendary status!

Yelp
Bad Dog! Meager bowl of coconut soup 20.95. They served 1inch of wine in my glass. 9.95. My appearance must have screamed "tourist"! and they took advantage. I called the manager out on this and he's looking at me like "do you think I really care?" Buyer beware

Yelp
This place is normally a MUST whenever I'm in Miami. I've been coming here since I was 19 years old and I'm now 30+. They have the option of outside seating, which of course is - a plus for me. My last experience food wise here was not the best at all. One of my favorite dishes here is the chili basil fried duck and the spicy chili sauce fried whole red snapper. My son tried the drunken noodles and egg rolls. I'm truly shocked to say the food was very unpleasant. The snapper was not fresh( it even had a smell as if it was spoiled) , the egg rolls and noodles in the drunken noodles were soggy, the duck was fried too hard to the point the meat was chewy. Lastly the Thai ice tea could've used more sugar, It was very bitter and bland. The server and service was really good and nice. My family and I had a very long day and didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of talking to a manager and changing our food to something else we might like. We just decided as a group to just go get pizza by the slice and go back to our hotel. It very well could've been an off day so if Thai food is your thing, then give this place a try.

Yelp
Great Thai food!!! I loved it and a group of us came here after the SOBEWFF event. We were seated right away and the space inside is great and good for groups. The food is delicious I ordered the gyoza steamed dumplings and they were perfect. I tried my friend's chicken in peanut sauce dish and it was so tasty. The chicken was tender and the peanut sauce as flavorful. I would definitely recommend and come here again to try other dishes.

Yelp
I was feeling some Thai food and came across this place near South Beach. Interior and ambiance of the place fit the Thai aesthetic perfectly. Our waiter was super friendly and we shared some good small conversations. The service was amazing and the food came out quickly. I really enjoyed the crab Rangoon, they were so delicious and crunchy. The house fried rice was super tasty too. You can never go wrong with pad Thai as well and it was delicious.

Yelp
fast delivery food portions are generous $26 Pad Thai with seafood is mostly imitation crab meat - gross - the 2 scallops were good, the few shrimp were small but clearly frozen - noodles tasted good after I picked out the fake crab $20 beef pho - beef was just chunks not nice slices - beef meatballs are frozen broth you can order online - nothing special here - at all expensive and not worth the cost
google avatar

Devesh S.

Yelp
The food is excellent, the service is good, the ambience is nice and the owner (I assumed he is the owner) uses racial stereotypes for Indian people which we ignored but left a bad taste in mouth, this is why the lost the first star The spice level can be a little tricky here. Be safe and ask for mild and add some spices yourself. All of us asked for medium with wildly different spice levels in our dishes, this is where they lost the second star
google avatar

Yelp
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who ensured our dining experience was pleasant. We split a Pad Thai dish and it was good, I did feel that the flavors could have been more vibrant and savory. I would still recommend this restaurant for its ambiance, service, and overall quality.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. We were skeptical at first as a lot of Thai places are a hit or miss but this spot was definitely a HIT. As someone who eats Thai food and spicy food on the regular, I can attest that the spicy level is up to par with Thailand. We ordered the papaya salad (Lao style), it was refreshing and has good flavor. It's made with the salted crab but not as pungent or dark as other lao style papaya salad but will still satisfy frequent papaya salad eaters. We ordered the boat noodle, Pad Kee Mau (drunken noodle), PaNang Curry and crab fried rice. The boat noodle was rich and full of flavor. They added sambal to the drunken noodle, which I wasn't used to but it was still good. The curry was not a bit thicker than my liking but my friends loved it. The crab fried rice is a must. Lastly we had the mango sticky rice. You can never go wrong with this delicious dessert. Everything was so delicious, we went back the next day for lunch and had the seafood salad, boat noodle and basil chicken. We also ordered the Thai ice coffee but it was a bit too sweet. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for an authentic Thai place.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the country. I love their pineapple fried rice. I like it spicy try it you'll love it with seafood.

Hallie S.

Yelp
Ordered pad Thai and Tom yum soup. The soup didn't have any noodles but it was like over $10 just broth and chicken? I would not recommend this place
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
So instead of shrimp red curry I got veggie and the sauce broke. It's not good at all. Disappointed when you wait 45 minutes for this. Also at least if it tastes good but it was terrible flavor wise too

Ryan J.

Yelp
Service, pad Thai, soft shell pad Thai were both solid. Happy to find a good Thai spot in Miami!

Yelp
The pad see ew was delicious and I recommend! It isn't spicy and really child friendly. It said it had chinese broccoli but ours had leaves and no actually broccoli. But I would still order again and recommend. There was a $2 charge to add beef. The red curry was curdled and the flavor was ok. The chicken was really stiff and the broccoli and cabbage were mushy. They charged $2 for extra basil and $3 for brown rice that wasn't filled all the way. The place is small but quaint and the bathroom is spacious and updated but the door needs painted badly and looks like humans were locked inside and trying to claw their way out of a locked bathroom. I looked at yelp reviews and thought I would try these dishes based upon the reviews but I would not recommend red curry on this experience. But I will order the pad see ew again with beef!

Yelp
We wanted our asian fix. Glad to have tried this place. The service was quic! We had great chicken pad thai, tried the chicken green curry (flavorful) and the tofu red curry(was more of a soup though).

Yelp
Delicious Thai food in Miami Beach! Rumor has it there are two chefs. The chef that cooks on Wednesday and Thursday night must real deal Thai person.

Yelp
Ordered Pad See Ew for a casual takeout meal in our hotel room. Very easy to order through the app and service was fast. The food was excellent as well. Would recommend

Yelp
Ordered the papaya salad Lao style, Thai boat noodle, and beef lab (medium rare), all spicy and was so amazed at how delicious everything was. Being from California where Asian food is everywhere, my boyfriend and I had a hard time finding a good asian restaurant in Miami. We door-dashed from Thai house a late Sunday night and was so impressed we came for lunch the next day. I am a papaya salad lover and the Lao style papaya was so good! It's more Thai style then Lao I would say because the Lao style sauce is darker and more pungent because of the padaek. Overall still great. The beef lab - we requested for medium rare and they were hesitant at first but allowed it. It was good!! Perfect balance of salty, spicy, citrusy, minty, and herby. Raw beef lab would've been better but medium rare worked for us. Eating this with sticky rice was everything! The Thai boat noodles were so flavorful! Good portions of protein, noodles and veggies. Broth was rich and flavorful, very tasty! We enjoyed our lunch. Service was fast, ambiance was great. Best Thai food in Miami that we had. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Wow! This place was so good!! Prices were very reasonable for the area. Service was lightning fast. I ordered a spice level of 3 out of 5 for my noodle dish and it was perfect. The flavors were out of this world good! My husband got the boat noodle soup and raved about it. DoorDash workers were constantly in and out the whole time we were there, this is definitely a popular place! *18% gratuity was automatically added to our check for a party of 2.

Yelp
Good service. Yummy food. We order fried fish, salad, pad sew, tomyum soup, and sticky rice with mango. We love all, wish can come back again

Yelp
I ordered chicken fried rice and fried rice is very plain. I don't think the chief did not make effort to cook better. I can cook better than this restaurant seriously. The waiter seems friendly. When I was eating with my family, I heard very loud breaking glasses and throwing things. I would like to suggest the restaurant owner that please make nice and quiet friendly environment for customers to eat. I have been hearing those scaring surrounding noises and I even scare. I thought employees are fighting and throwing stuff around. I don't feel safe to eat there. Busy Miami south beach area and only one Thai House there therefore they don't care people reviews. I read other reviews but I don't easily believe but it is true. They haven't change since then. But someday I hope that they can make changes. Or more Thai restaurants will open soon they might be out of business soon. I have been eating many other Thai food but this Thai house is not good enough for me. Thank you

Yelp
They always close 10-20 minutes beside 11pm. deceiving display. They should change their working hours. We have already complained to the department of health
google avatar

Roger L.

Yelp
Could not find it, doesn't have seats, therefore it must not exist... I read the menu and it sounded really good for vegetarians, but I swear I have no idea where it is
google avatar

Sherry J.

Yelp
- Inside and outside seating - Convenient location - Had pad thai and pad see ew - They forgot that we had asked for spicy pad thai but they had spices on the table - Reasonable prices - The thai iced tea was also good - Friendly staff - I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular - Would recommend

Yelp
The food was good. My husband ordered fried fish and I ordered Tom yum soup. You have to order rice because it doesn't come with it. Also, they have Laos papaya salad. It doesn't have enough funk in there. It needs more padek. The mango sticky rice was delicious. Would recommend this place, if you're tired of other food and wanted some good Asian food.

Ryan M.

Yelp
Their beef pad thai really hit the spot. I went in for an early dinner and was immediately seated and seemingly almost as quickly served after ordering (they have their playing process down to a T). The food was flavorful and plentiful, even if it is slightly more expensive than I'm used to (call it the south beach premium, which I've experienced at every place). My only minor complaint is the beef itself could have been a little more tender, but it was still very good. I even had leftovers for the next day!

Chika O.

Yelp
Wonderful fresh delicious authentic Thai food. Service was great. I had tofu with mix vegetables, my husband had pad Thai, and my daughter had ginger sources with Chicken. Everyone was happy about their food & Everything was A+
google avatar

Jimmy P.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent, lots of options for vegetarians, please try Papaya salad and Green Curry.
google avatar

Colton H.

Yelp
If you're from California.. or anywhere in APAC, you'll be confused with the 'Thai' food here. Its not the worst, but its not Thai-that food.. as a new local in SoBe, yet to find any good thai. The lunch special is value for dollar.. but the taste of the panang curry was not what I was hoping for.. felt really heavy and not the best afterwards. In reading some of the other reviews, echo the sentiment that probability that the chefs are not thai is likely high That said, the service was fine.. and folks seemed nice
google avatar

Lynette B.

Yelp
Have ordered delivery from here several times because there's nothing better for a cold and the soul than their spicy soups. I've also tried their pad thai which is nice and my favorite is their red curry. Delivery has always been fast and the portions very generous. One day I hope to go into the actual restaurant and enjoy the food fresh from the kitchen.
google avatar

Barry M.

Yelp
Don't be put off by the scruffy exterior seating area, the inside is very nice, clean. (Toilets immaculate too). The food was mostly on point we had Panang curry and basil chicken. Biggest complaint was the lack of variety of veggies. Green and red pepper seemed to be the only thing in both dishes.
google avatar

Felix D.

Yelp
This has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Miami Beach. The food is so fresh and delicious. The service is always on point and the ambiance is very welcoming. Ms. Jackie always knows exactly how to keep us entertained and has the best suggestions. David and Erol are good excellent customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We were staying in South Beach and I wanted something more international than we typically get at home and suggested Thai. This place was perfect since it was only two blocks from our hotel. Portions were good sized and maybe a little less expensive than I typically would have expected. For an appetizer we got the beef satee which was served with a cucumber salad and peanut sauce, all of which were very good. My wife got beef pad Thai which she says can be hit or miss with her tastes, but this definitely hit. Not a single bean sprout or rice noodle was left. I got the volcano chicken. I like spice but not overpowering. I'd seen another review on here that said if you like spice don't feel like you need to back down. Sure enough I requested medium and the waiter was asking if I could handle it. I said yes but until the food came out I was totally unsure and second guessing myself. What I didn't expect was for them to pour a flaming gravy boat of alcohol all over my dish at the table. It made for a great presentation but I was so eager to see how spicy it was so blew the flames out before it was completely out. Chicken was delicious and the spice level was perfect, unfortunately all the veggies were sitting underneath in the alcohol sauce were completely inedible. This is my own mistake not the restaurants so I don't fault them at all.

Yan M.

Yelp
The food is decent, worth trying once, but the mandatory 20% service charge on the bill, followed by an additional request for tips, feels excessive and off-putting. It leaves a bad impression, and I don't plan to return.
google avatar

Anton P.

Yelp
Very good thai place! Unlike my previous bad experience in Brickell city center, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get some authentic Thai food at a decent price. Their portions are really decent size, and the staff is great too! Highly recommend!

Stuart M.

Yelp
DO NOT order online. they refuse to let you change the order or add to the order. Very rude and stupid. Horrible customer service. Then I said I would cancel the order. They threatened to charge me anyway. Eat anywhere else!!!!

Emmett C.

Yelp
Ordered the Pad See Ew, and it was absolutely excellent. Servers were incredibly friendly, and the food arrived fast and hot. Would absolutely return in further trips to Miami.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
If you're looking for solid Thai, look no further. Generous portions, upbeat vibe during Music week and friendly crew. David will take care of you. Cheers

T H.

Yelp
Solid 4.5+ place. The food is well prepared and delicious. Had green and red curry recently. Their noodle dish Kee Mao something (drunken noodles) and fried rice were nice too. Service is pretty good if you are not a super fussy individual. Decent ambiance. Outdoor seating is nice when there is shade. I prefer indoor myself. Pro Tip - if you are not used to Thai spices, go with mild. If you are, start with medium. Always easy to add spiciness, but not remove.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our first meal after a fun night. So we usually are pretty picky when it comes to food. The food here was exactly as we expected when we ordered, which were sauté clear noodles and pad kee mau. The service was also great.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food, fairly priced, good service, and convenient location for us while we were on vacation at South Beach. The ambiance provided a nice little break from the action on the beach and the Ave.

Yelp
(Last visited 3/15/2020). For my last night in Miami I wanted to have dinner at more chill, peaceful spot since we had been going, going, going since we landed. Lol. I got on Yelp and checked out some places then landed on this. I love me some good, spicy Thai food so here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on Washington Avenue a little north of all the action is this gem. No hole in the wall spot here! This place is very sizeable and has amazing décor throughout. There are bright colors such as red and yellow. We chose to sit outdoors because the weather was nice and it wasn't too busy. Service: Decent. Nothing too crazy or over the top, but we had everything we needed whenever we asked for it. Food: I love a good coconut curry so when I saw it on the menu, I got super excited! I got it with a jumbo scallops and made it extra spicy. It was fantastic! I loved every bite and it left my mouth with a little fire in it. Lol. Value: $25.95 for my entrée doesn't sound too bad at all given the location of where we were eating, what I was eating and the portion I got. Very good value. In conclusion, I'd totally pay this place another visit and totally try out one of their other dishes.

Yelp
I am always craving pad Thai so when my coworker and I were looking for somewhere to eat during a work trip, I was thrilled to find this. We were about to get seats quickly and the place was very cute. Our server was nice and as expected, the pad Thai was delicious! I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
We went there today - Monday- and were sat right away . We decided to sit outdoors since it was a beautiful day. The food was amazing . We had red curry with shrimp, massaman curry with chicken, and fresh ginger with beef. All 3 dishes were superb. Victor, our server, was very attentive and personable. The menu is quite extensive , so he helped us to pick our main dishes based on what we liked. All I have to say is : "delicious!!!"

Yelp
We were introduced to Thai House South Beach by friends, and it is now our favorite restaurant in Miami Beach. We love the casual atmosphere and the authentic Thai cuisine. The service is always friendly and they always welcome us back with big smiles. Prices are reasonable and they deliver.
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Big portions! Great service. My water glass was never empty and my friends always had a beer. The food had great flavor. Did get level 2 spicy but that really had no spice but you never know how the cook sees the spicy levels.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
The food was good - I had clear noodles with veggies which was really good. My husband had a soup and loved his too. The service was good - the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The servers were nice. The ambiance was nice too - chill, welcoming, and nicely decorated. I'm from NYC so the prices here weren't surprising. If you're not from an expensive city, then just be prepared ahead of time - Miami is expensive lol
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Service is an issue, I've been screamed at on the phone. And numerous times when I get there no one helps me or I'm told to help myself etc. So they definitely need to work on this. As for food I felt the pad Thai was flavorless, I ordered it on two seperate occasions and both times were a let down and so was the rice dish.. tasted very plain. The only thing I order now is the drunken noodles pad ke mao because it has a lot of flavor and is consistently very good!!! Thai iced tea is good and the spring rolls. The peanut sauce chicken appetizer is also pretty good. Good place if you're a local craving thai food but if you're on vacation I would skip this and go somewhere else.
