Thai Joint Returning to Adams Avenue | Eater San Diego

"I'm glad to see the Thai Joint coming back to Adams Avenue; when it opened in 2011 in Normal Heights it served dishes like Thai samosas, pork shanks in basil sauce, and pumpkin curry, and its forced closure to make way for Heights Tavern (now The Rabbit Hole) left owner Pimwara “Patty” Thongchua heartbroken. After launching the well-received Plumeria on Park Boulevard and Chi Extraordinary Kitchen on the west end of Adams Avenue and running Hillcrest’s Asian Bistro, Thongchua is reopening Thai Joint in the space previously occupied by Tam’s Thailand Food; the new location will primarily focus on food-to-go, with just 14 seats inside and two patio tables, and is scheduled to open Thursday, May 17 under the management of her daughter Tara Tamarkin." - Candice Woo

Google
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego. It has a large dining area but seems to be more of a takeout place with how many drivers came up. But the service I received was stellar. Started off with the Crispy Rolls, which were so fresh and extremely flavorful. The main course was the green curry with bbq park, which I got at a 10 level spicy. It was perfection. Highly recommend this spot for dining in or take away!

Google
My go to neighborhood spot. I can’t stop ordering the Panang curry level 5 spice. Yum. Tons of vegan options. Small patio (two tables) is dog friendly. Service always on point.

Google
(Born & raised SD native) Ive had a more than a dozen SD Thai spots in over 30 yrs. Today was my first time trying Thai Joint—and I’m so glad I did. I ordered grilled chicken, sticky rice, yellow coconut curry, steamed veggies, and papaya salad for pickup. The staff was incredibly friendly—when I left, three people said goodbye and thank you at once. It was such a warm touch. The packaging really stood out: neat, secure, and thoughtful. They even placed cardboard between the hot chicken and cold salad—something I’ve never seen, even at my go-to spots like Thai Time in North Park. Plus, they included sauces and cutlery without me asking. The food itself was fantastic—fresh, piping hot, and packed with flavor. I ordered Thai spice level, and they weren’t kidding! I’ll definitely be back. This place does it right from start to finish.

Incredible thai here! Spice level 3 is medium 🌶🌶🌶 This is a Normal Heights favorite of ours! They have outdoor seating, so we can bring Oskar our dog. Good service and excellent food keep us coming back. Recommend mango sticky rice for dessert.

Alexandra M.

Google
The food was delicious! They have spice levels from 1 to 10 and have a good amount of indoor seating. Most people were ordering for take out so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Google
Updating my post with more pics! They're fresh spring rolls are amazing. I Clive this neighborhood spot. Their Thai food is great! Great spot in Normal Hts for take out Thai food - with not a lot of space to sit inside. I ordered the Kra Pow with mock duck (see pic), it was my first time trying mock duck and it was really good. I was bummed they forgot my rice but I called and they gave me $5 towards my next meal, which was, fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Those are always amazing! I recommend this place if you're looking for a quick Thai fix in Normal Hts.

Google
I really like their curry here. I had the red curry with chicken and it was delicious. I've also tried the yellow curry, so good. I usually order through one of th delivery apps and it always arrives super fresh and hot.

Google
Found a tiny twisty tie in my food. My pad thai had somwthing extra Probably came from produce. But still something in the food is insane. I could have cut my gums or popped an intestine. No bueno. Just bought a house in normal heights, won't eat here for the next 20 years.

Yelp
We love Thai Joint. Usually we order delivery but decided to dine in tonight. As usual, the food was awesome and the service was excellent. We had a nice dinner and liked that we could have conversation with our food because it's not loud.

Yelp
Ordered take out and found that the parking was tricky. Very limited spots in front of the business, and it's a hit or miss with street parking on a busy street. The food was ready when I came in, but was cold by the time I got home (roughly ten minutes). The cream cheese wontons were crispy and good, but the drunken noodles had gotten chewy and the flavor was off. The chili garlic flavor wasn't strong, and there were way too many veggies and only a handful of pieces of tofu. I'd like to give this place another try for dining in and checking out their veggie options.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, & we were seated right away. It was a good amount, and the interior was clean. It's a casual dining place so people can come here for friends and whatnot, maybe not a super romantic place
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Never disappoints! Always super fresh and delicious. This is my to go place when I want delivery.

Yelp
Great place for vegetarians. If you're looking for a lighter cleaner broth in your Tom yum or Tom kha, this is the place for that. Just know they don't carry beef here. But their mock duck is excellent. The service is also always friendly so i hate to say this, but i got super sick from their eggplant dish. Maybe too oily? Or they use a cheap oil? Either way made me scared to come back for a while. I live in the neighborhood and used to come often, but not anymore.

Yelp
Amazing food, great quality tofu and rice used here that really amplifies the flavors of the dish. My friend and I met up here on a Thursday night and we seated immediately (although space is limited and parking can be challenging). Folks who work here are great and my friend and I were able to chat about life over a great dish of panang curry and thai basil with fried tofu. We also got the thai tea and it was very sweet! Overall, I would definitely come back here and try more vegan items at this place!

Yelp
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Solid food and service in a pleasant, casual setting. We were in the mood for a healthyish lunch in the area and Thai food sounded good! The interior isn't fancy, but was cute and clean. The hubby and I ordered the following: - Pad see ew with steamed tofu - Green curry with steamed tofu - Thai iced coffee - Thai iced tea The food was fresh and flavorful, and our server was friendly and efficient--a great first impression. We'd definitely be down to try them again!

Yelp
Located in a small plaza off of a busy street with a handful of parking spots that is difficult to get in and out, Thai Joint on Adams is a decent place to get Thai food. Pretty good for the area but not one I'd go out of my way to get. The restaurant is in the middle of the plaza. I got it to go and my interaction with the staff was lovely. They were semi busy when I arrived on a Saturday night at 7pm but all had smiles across their face. Chatted with two people and they took the time to introduce themselves and ask me about my plans for the night and if I ever been here etc. If you choose to eat there, it looks like there are enough seats for about 50 people. The left side of the business is pick up and the kitchen and the right side is full of tables and booths. I ordered two things: Kra pow w duck and extra veggie. I asked for medium spice and they gave me a 3 out of 10. I should have specified a 5 out of 10. It was great flavor but zero kick. It was a good dish. Better than I expected. Just small portion size. I ordered it with brown rice. Red curry w duck and white rice was the other order. I ordered a 7 out of 10 spice level. The spices ended up setting to the bottom of the container and requires a really good mix in order to get that kick. It could have been hotter and next time I'll order a 8 or 9. The 7 tasted more like a 5 to me. Small portion size again. It's not real duck, it's vegan duck. Tasted pretty similar to the real thing. To get four star I want to feel like it was a memorable meal. And while I'm happy I came, I won't be dreaming about this meal.

Yelp
Today we stopped here for a lunch. It was around 12:00 on a Monday. It was pretty chill not too many people which was nice. I ordered the see ew noodles with mock duck. I ordered level 2 spice. It was delicious and arrived in a timely manner after our Thai iced tea and other appetizer. I loved the Thai iced tea with coconut milk. It was creamy, sweet and refreshing! The ambience is relaxing and chill. I've been here one other time and after two visits, it's official! I'd definitely recommend this Thai place!

Yelp
We were in the mood for Thai food and, well, one place we like was kinda far, and another has parking challenges. We have driven by this joint a dozen times but this time, there was a parking space right in front. Must be the universe. Friendly greeting when I walked in, they were excited that it was our first time here. I can't believe they've been here for five years! They are in the space that use to be Tam's, and have expanded to the space next door. They have a very nice dining room, and a couple tables out in front. We ordered panang curry with chicken, green curry with chicken, pad thai, salad rolls, and drunken noodles with bbq pork. They do not serve beef. Everything was sooooooo good! I can't believe it's taken me this long to come here! The owner was so sweet! She even gave us a piece of chocolate cake for waiting, but I didn't think it was that bad! I can't wait to come back and explore the menu more!

Yelp
I looooove this place. I go here a lot. My fav is the tamarind wings. The ONLY negative because I always get the tofu spring rolls and I feel like the tofu has been less and less. This time, I got zero tofu. I just wish the tofu spring rolls were consistent or at least have tofu in it. So disappointing.

Yelp
Randomly came across this spot during a Yelp search for Thai food after discovering my go-to spot in Hillcrest is no longer open! Sad day.... Or was it?! I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed at first, but Thai Joint might just become my new go-to spot! The dining room is simple, clean, and well decorated. It has a nice ambiance that feels casual, but like nice casual (if you know what I mean). They have a regular menu and a full vegan menu, so if that's your thing, they got you! I went with my usual yellow curry order and ahhhhhh it was so. Damn. Good. My friend went with her usual panang curry and loved hers too. I typically only eat half there and then save the other half for next day lunch, but to be honest, I ended up eating the other half later that night - I couldn't wait! I also ordered the Thai fried rice and the pad Thai to-go and my boyfriend loved them. Our service was quick and friendly and I noticed that they have a to-go order side where you can easily swing by and pick up your order with ease. Oh! And there's parking! HUGE win while in North Park (especially when you just want to run in quick for food). Overall, I really loved this restaurant and will absolutely be back. I wasn't joking - I think this may have become my new favorite Thai spot!

Yelp
Great Thai food on Adams ave. Yellow curry the fried rice or mango sticky rice please. Nice sit dinning area and friendly service.

Yelp
Pretty dang good! Really tasty food, I was actually a little bummed to take the last bite of my dish Nice and spicy, and really good Thai iced tea to cool you off. Good spot, would recommend!

Yelp
UBER EATS ORDER Decided to try this place out because why not. Well, let me tell you WHY NOT to.... $31 - Drunken noodles - Drink - 15% tip That makes absolutely no sense to me. DRUNKEN NOODLES WITH CHICKEN - no spicy. When it arrived I felt the portions were kind of small for what I'm paying. Taste was mediocre, def had better and def had worse. It lacked chicken and vegetables and tasted more like noodles with soy sauce mixed with a dash of sugar for some sweetness. It didn't wow me to ever want to order from Uber eats again nor would I go there to eat. Until the next review...

Yelp
We got the chicken pad thai and pad see ew and it was delicious! I was very pleasantly surprised since we got it delivered and usually the food isn't as good as eating it at the restaurant but it still turned out hot (despite opening it like 2 hours later) and tasty. The portions were great and the flavor was amazing. I have no complaints at all. We also tried the mango sticky rice (my first time) and despite eating it like 5 hours later it was still yummy. I do wish they have more noodle options (they only have pad Thai, pad see ew, and drunken noodles) since I'm a big noodle girl but they're still good! Will definitely come back and try other items off their menu in person!

Yelp
Some of the best Thai in San Diego! I have been coming here for years. I bring friends and family. And never miss an opportunity to come by. Simply the best.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
I've eaten here occasionally for around 13 years because it's close to where I live, but the quality here is variable and sometimes I swear off it. The tamarind wings are probably the singular reason I keep coming back. When they do these right, they are crispy on the outside and the glaze coats the wings perfectly. When they don't, the glaze is so thick it becomes an impossibly sticky mess that doesn't coat the wings at all and hides in a corner of your takeout styrofoam (which, oddly enough, is still in widespread use because "California: so many great laws we don't actually enforce" is our current unofficial state motto). While it isn't a bad spot for Southeast Asian-esque vegan food, it isn't as good in this regard as Plumeria, their sister restaurant in University Heights. In general, this place wouldn't hurt if it served more traditional recipes using higher quality ingredients, rather than going for strip mall pan-Asian. BUT, it is in a strip mall, which no longer means necessarily bad, although in this particular context reminds me of an "express" version of the real thing: put together quickly and with less care. After all, you get what you pay for.

Victoria J.

Yelp
The food was amazing in my opinion. I got the Green curry with Tofu and the Drunken Noodle with Tofu. I went on a Saturday midday and it was only me. The service was super quick, friendly, and the portions were huge. I thought the drunken noodle was perfect and wasn't too greasy or anything. Overall I will absolutely be coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is such a gem! One of my favorite Pad Thai's in town. I also enjoy the yellow curry & the tamarind wings are my absolute favorite. They're very saucy yet still crunchy. The service has been great, food comes out quickly and the portions are large (except for the wings). There are a few parking spots right out front and a ton of street parking. So far, we haven't had trouble finding a spot.

Yelp
Had the craving for some curry after 2 church services on Sunday.... Needed something to chase the communion wafer and juice. And this hit the spot. It was a pleasant, clean, warm little spot where I was very met by two servers with welcoming smiles. Went over the menu and the curry called my name. It was perfect! Next time more spice (it was only a 2... I thought I was getting a 5) My stay was brief, but I will be back.

Yelp
I love the service here. I've been picking up to-go orders from them for YEARS and they have always been incredibly kind and accommodating. It's one of the few places in San Diego (tbh, the only place in my experience) where I feel like my business is appreciated and where I feel like they genuinely care. It has modern day mom-and-pop vibes. I usually call in my order but I've also ordered online a few times. They missed my order come through online the other day, and they left a really kind note in our order in addition to their in-person apology. I've called within 30 minutes of their closing time and asked if it was too late to put in an order. They were more than happy to still accept my order and let me know it wouldn't be a problem in the future either (I still always ask though). As for the food, their Pad Thai is my go-to, it's my favorite in SD. I prefer a stronger tamarind flavor and they deliver just that! If I get the wontons or crispy rolls, then I get three hearty meals between one appetizer and one order of Pad Thai.
google avatar

Holly G.

Yelp
Got take out and it was good. The tofu spring rolls were outstanding. Very thick and tightly rolled- nothing fell out and the peanut sauce was really good. Parking's a PITA. Would get takeout here again.
google avatar

Kayla T.

Yelp
I order the cream cheese wontons and pad see ew from this place and it was delicious! I order from door dash so I didn't get to experience the the ambiance and service but my door dasher got my food to me in a timely manner and it was still hot!
google avatar

Akemi W.

Yelp
After many visits, I have to upgrade my review to give five stars. The food here is excellent, every dish I've tried is excellent, and it's consistently excellent. I originally compared it unfavorably to Sab E Lee, but Thai Joint wins out by being so consistently great. Everything I've tried here is delicious and flavorful. I especially love their vegan larb with mock duck, their pad see ew, and the drunken noodles. If you eat egg, the little scrambled bits are the best! I also really appreciate that they have an entirely separate vegan menu. And it's almost as long as the meat menu! I'm not vegan myself, but it makes it easy to spot vegetarian options, and lots of these items are delicious for omnivores too. It's nice to have so many many choices, even with a more limited diet. Every time I go somewhere else, I'm disappointed. This is the place to visit. I think it's my favorite Thai spot in San Diego.
google avatar

Antigone B.

Yelp
Nice place for a relaxed but classy meal. The staff is very nice, and the rice and noodle portions are big, so be ready for takeout or bring a friend. My favorites are the larb salad, drunken noodles (nice and garlicy!), pad Thai, and mock duck; I haven't tried the curry but friends I've been with have said it's great.

Yelp
A great option on Adams Ave!! We were at an event at the Adams Ave Theatre and this was a quick 5 minute walk away. Staff was very friendly and food came out pretty fast. They have a spice scale of 1-10 and their medium is a 3. They also offer a vegan menu, which was perfect since one of us is vegan! Portion size is perfect, I was stuffed. I also loved the presentation of their rice which they mold in a heart shape :) The interior is small but cute cozy, not too busy on a Saturday afternoon The Thai BBQ chicken was delicious! It looked and tasted grilled. The sauce was tangy and salty so paired nicely with the chicken and rice. The Thai Basil Entree with chicken was sooo tasty!! Perfectly savory and great basil flavor and a nice mix of veggies. Could be considered salty but it was just right when you eat it with rice. We got a spice level 4 and it was not too spicy but the spice did build as you kept eating. Thai iced tea with boba was standard, but a nice sweet drink to pair with our meal. I would love to come back and try more dishes!

Yelp
Thai Joint has become my new go-to Thai food restaurant. I'm a big fan of Tom Kha soup, and am very picky about it, and I find Thai Joint's as one of my favorites. I'm also a fan of their Thai fried rice, and their Pad Thai. The service is great. I once had a mistake on an order (it happens) and upon my return the manager was very apologetic and accommodating. I have dined in, ordered to-go, and delivery (both Grub Hub and Uber Eats), and all have been good experiences. When dining in, the servers are very tentative, the seats are comfortable, and the ambiance is nice overall.

Yelp
‼WOULD NOT COME AGAIN.‼ I came here to eat with my friend and our two daughters after having a hard day. The food was delicious but I definitely will never come back here as long as the woman who served me works there. I have never walked in a restaurant feeling unwelcomed the moment our server began speaking to us. I would never expect a server to make disrespectful comments about my child who is only 2 years of age. The Server oddly told me and my friend to take our children's shoes off so we don't get her place dirty which we felt was a very odd request. We put them in the high chair that was already very dirty and dusty so I was confused. She hovered over picking little things back up as my daughter ate her food and if my daughter would put something down she would come to the table and take it away. Our children were tired, we just wanted a break and no one had an issue with our children but her. We felt rushed out with a check before we even finishing our order. When I walked to the restroom and left the table she went to my friend that I was with & in front of her daughter proceeded to tell her that my child is a bad kid. My feelings were hurt and I felt disrespected. To label a two year old as bad and one as good in front of other people and children while serving is completely inappropriate. Children are sponges, what we say shapes them into who they are, this server was saying this to the person I was sharing my lunch with. As a mother sometimes doing it all alone, I go out to have a break , to feel like I'm part of the world again. I always appreciate servers who stand for making their customers feel welcomed and have patience for all forms of humans and families. Unknowing of possible disabilities or hardships at home if this woman thinks it is okay to make comments like that to her customers I don't think she should be working there. I don't believe this woman represents good customer service, I don't believe that she is meeting up to the common values that most restaurants stand for. I called to complain & Delilah was very kind and apologized. She asked if I wanted a refund and an apology and I said sure. The woman who served me got back on the phone and mocked me giving me a very disrespectful and backhanded apology with a very rude tone . I remained calm and just said I did not want to argue. She put Delilah back in the phone and she said she actually can't refund me until the owner came and they will give me a call tomorrow. I still haven't gotten a call back. I'm not angry about the money; but I am concerned about anyone with children eating at a place like this. I will take further steps until I get a call from someone who is in charge. This place is far from kid friendly and I would never recommend anyone who has a child to eat here. If you have a child with special abilities, toddlers, infant that cry, I would not feel comfortable being served by this woman. I support businesses that are all inclusive and this is not one of them.

Yelp
Local Thai joint with the most amazing yellow curry. I add pineapple and steamed veggies, and hot damn. Can't go wrong with the Thai joint salad or gyoza either. If you're ever in the area, stop by and give them some love. They deserve it.

Isabel L.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The food is always so fresh and delicious. The Panang chicken is the best in town.
google avatar

Katherine K.

Yelp
Not the best Thai food I've had, but not the worst. I went middle of the day so it wasn't busy, which is why I'm surprised my dish wasn't better. I got the Pad Thai with chicken and tofu. The tofu was cooked perfectly, but some of my chicken pieces were tough and I had to keep spitting them out. As for my noodles, there were a lot of overcooked pieces, which really brought my opinion down about the whole dish. The flavor was really good though and that's what saved them in my opinion. Don't know if I'd come back, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I decided not to.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute dining room, clean, comfortable. We had the pork crispy rolls with plum sauce. They were delicious from the wrapper to the filling to the sauce. I also enjoyed the pad see ew. I got it at a 3 spice level which they consider medium. It was a good amount of heat. I can take a lot if heat, so unless you like burn your mouth out hot, I probably wouldn't go much higher than a 3. Would definitely come again when we are in the are!
google avatar

Yelp
The best vegan/vegetarian thai food around, and i've tried them all. It tastes like traditional Pad Ke Mao, but with no fish or oyster sauce. It is always cooked perfectly and they have never disappointed once. They have great service and are always on time with orders. I've dined in before and they have a really nice place and great atmosphere. Will always come back

Carly S.

Yelp
Great delivery experience. Pad Thai and Thai bbq chicken were great. Loved the peanut sauce. Will be ordering again.

Chrissy M.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious and flavorful. The portions are also large so depending on your appetite you may have two meals. The service is also great and so friendly. I love when restaurants have good service, totally changes the experience. The whole vibe and energy of the space is great. Cute decore and good natural lighting.

Yelp
This is an eatery in the nondescript Adams Plaza where there are only five suites and very limited parking out front. The inside was nicely decorated but tiny with four tables that could seat two people each and a long high top table that could seat six. There were a couple more tables outside for seating. Most orders were take-out as those transactions were providing steady business during the time of my visit. There were two menus, a regular one and a vegan one. I ordered the E-Sarn Sausage as an appetizer. It was a mixture of ground pork containing ginger, galangal, lemongrass, chili, and herbs. The combination gave a strong acidity to the meat. The Drunken Noodles with chicken was my entree. I asked for the spiciness to be three on a scale of one to ten, but I could still taste a sharp amount of heat so be forewarned. I thought the food was good, but it wasn't to the level of their nearby competitors in the Normal Heights neighborhood. The servers were polite and filled my water glass frequently. I gave 3.5 stars for my dining experience at the Thai Joint on Adams.
google avatar

Melanio F.

Yelp
Small joint. parking shared with several businesses so you will have to look on the street. I ordered some takeout. I had gone to White Rice Bodega to get a favorite but I also wanted some Thai food. I ordered Tamarind Tofu, Tom Yum soup with veggies and Yellow curry with sole. The only thing I didn't eat was the Tom Yum soup which I really ordered for someone else. Yellow curry was just the right level of spice and delicious. I had the tofu with a little spice and that was great, a bit oily but still good. I am missing the Tamarind part but it didn't matter, I wanted fried tofu. Overall, I might try their other dishes like the spicy eggplant, etc.

Yelp
This is always great quality food as this is a regular spot for us when we are craving Thai food. We regularly get the chicken pad thai. Portions a great as we always have left overs. They are also quick with the order.

Yelp
The @thailoint Thai Joint at 3456 Adams Ave has really good Thai food! We had the nicest waitress. She really made us feel special like they were happy to have us. I loved was they let me pick the level of spiciness for my Curry. I also love that they serve the rice in a heart shape! The restaurant had a nice clean presentation and the food was really good! We ordered: -cream cheese wantons -yellow curry with chicken and brown rice -bbq chicken plate -fried rice

Yelp
The second I took my first bite into my noodle dish from Thai Joint, I knew I had regrets... We ordered their chicken pad Thai (7/10) and their bbq pork drunken noodle noodle (7/10) from DoorDash. Both dishes were on the savory side. That's a given for the drunken noodle but sometimes the pad thais could fall on savory or sweet. Nope, their pad thais were definitely well in the savory side of things. We really enjoyed the flavors both dishes offered. The best way to describe it was rich with taste and hearty. The noodles themselves were very chewy and tasty. It didn't break apart on us as we picked it up with our chopsticks. It dried a bit during the delivery process though. The serving per dish was just right for a single person, no left over. If you ordered take-out or delivered, they'll come in an aluminum tin. A really nice touch and keeps the food warm. The price were pretty steep per noodle dish. If you're looking on DoorDash at the time of this review, its approx $13/dish base price and varies as you choose the meat. Now why the regrets? We absolutely wished we ate this in person. We know prices on delivery service may not always reflect prices in store. More importantly we wish we had these dishes fresh. We'll definitely be visiting this shop in person one day ordering the same thing!

Yelp
This is my family's GO TO restaurant! It is very vegan friendly , great food , fast service and good bang for your buck . The servings are more than enough for 2 people (except maybe get an extra order of rice ) . I love the vegan mock duck with my meals cooked crispy . And the Thai coffee is the bomb!!! Totally recommend this place . We come here at least once week :)

Yelp
We love this restaurant! The personable service, and the quality and quantity of the food is some of the best Thai dishes in town. Expensive vegan menu, and their dishes are also equally amazing. Highly highly recommend the mock duck LARB! Their drunken noodle is off the chain... And the peanut sauce is to die for our favorite server is Ying! She knows us by first name and all of the staff always are smiling and greet us with a warm smile

Yelp
Got takeout from here the other day - the food was great and the portions were big. I got the following dishes: 1. Pad Thai w/ chicken - the portion was very large and it was overall just a great pad Thai (all the right flavors and had the right sauciness ratio). 2. Panang Curry - was just a solid panang curry. Comes with rice 3. Mock duck larb - this was the star of the show. Would get this over larb w meat. My fiancé also absolutely loved this and he's sometimes a bit iffy on fake meat dishes. Get this dish - you won't regret it. I will def be coming back soon.

Yelp
I ate at this restaurant yesterday and I really wanted to refrain from making a bad review but after the last few experiences over the initial issue I have to. Our server was so annoyed about my friend and I having our 2 year olds at the restaurants. She made comments about taking our kids shoes off while eating which is a very odd request. She seemed annoyed that our kids ate like children and even came up to my table to talk about my friends child in a ill manner. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Upon asking you speak to a manager. I was told by the same woman that the manager will not be speaking to me unless she wants to. I didn't ask for a refund I only asked to speak to a manager. Then she rudely hung up on me. She mocked my friend on the phone and proceeded to give her a mock apology for insulting her and her child. The food was good but i would never recommend anyone to bring their kids to this kind of establishment that is not welcoming to mothers and their child.

Yelp
My absolute FAVORITE Thai place. I've tried other places and I always compare them to this spot. So flavorful and portions are insane! Staff is very nice. I always recommend this place to anyone who's in the mood for Thai.

Yelp
Been here a couple times and I think the quality is not as good as Banh Thai but not bad. I do love the portions they give, one order can often last me about 2-3 meals. The pad Thai is solid, tastes great with the spicy oil sauce they give on the side. The noodles are chewy and soft and there is a lime and plenty of peanuts included. The green curry is a little too watery for my taste, I wish it was thicker and had more veggies in it. It comes with rice, which I got brown rice, and the rice was just a bit stale as well. The prices though are very reasonable. Be weary of the parking situation, the parking lot is extremely narrow and there are only a few spots at the front. If it's too crowded it might be better to find street parking and walk just a bit further. I would come once in awhile for the convenience, the takeout service is very efficient.

Yelp
Very good. No big reason to dock a star except that I have a couple other favorite spots and they don't have beef here. Their mock duck however is a very wonderful substitute. If you haven't tried it, do it... even if you're a carnivore. Their tamarind wings are a delight that you should try. Just add it to your order. Can't really go wrong with any of the classic dishes. Very friendly staff. Food is almost always ready to pick up in 15min.

Yelp
Simply phenomenal in every way. It's quick, extremely friendly service, and outstanding flavors in every dish. In particular, the sauces were some of the best we've had (spring roll peanut sauce with tamarind, half moon plum sauce with plum sauce, which also has pineapple, tamarind wing sauce). We got the drunken noodles and curry at a 3/10 spice level, which they said was medium, and it packs a punch! They included some fun touches, like heart-shaped rice and reusable chopsticks. If we lived in SD, this would be a very regular spot for us!!
