"This longtime Thai restaurant in North Campus offers an extensive lunch menu with specials that come with a soup or salad. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Darcie Duttweiler

Yelp
The ambiance was quiet and peaceful but the service could improve. The food was absolutely good. Staff should smile more often and be more readily available.

Yelp
Thai Kitchen was not remarkable, sadly. I got their Pad See Eew and it was mostly sugar. It was mostly just the flat noodles in its overly sweet, supposedly premade sauce. -That's according to the hostess at least. I was disappointed because I really wanted them to be amazing due to their close proximity to my office. Other than that, the ambience was nice and the place seemed clean. But that sugar sauce! On to the next Thai spot.

Erika B.

Yelp
Ordered the pad see eew, super delicious. Good size, ordered for takeout. Pretty dark inside for my liking, but they did have a very neat fish tank at the entrance. Good flavor/seasoning. Noodles were delicious! They have a patio in the front to sit and eat.

Angie L.

Yelp
Disappointed! The green curry is ONLY chicken with curry. No vegetables. It's very hot so take heed when ordering.

Juni G.

Yelp
Ton of celery in cashew chicken. About 10 or less cashews. Uncooked carrots. Not alot of flavor. Wont be going back.

Frank T.

Yelp
My current trend is soups due to the flu bug I caught going around. I figured get some at a place I know well than test something new. It's been about half a year since I've been back to this place, and my wife said to be prepared for disappointment. Didn't believe her since it has been here forever. Well, she was right. Something has changed. It all seemed to slowly decline ever since the owner passed away. The family still runs it, but the food ain't the same. My wife brought home my favorite, sweet and sour soup with crab. When I opened it, it smelled fishy, which it normally does not. Tasted it, and was way too salty and fishy tasting, like they used that substitute artificial fish paste instead of crab. Tossed it down the disposal, and sadly another Austin icon has fallen off my list.

Yelp
This food put simply was not great. We ordered on DoorDash and they somehow had 4.7 stars (definitely inflation here) and were pretty disappointed with what we got. I would call this standard, non-offensive, and basic Thai but the issue with it is the price point for the quality. I expected much higher quality considering the price. I would definitely pay max $10 a dish and be satisfied but with the prices they charge the quality should be much better. The "thread" noodles (glass noodles) were slimy and lacked flavor. My partner got Pad Thai and could only describe it as if it was Pad Thai that someone rinsed in water before packaging.

Ivy T.

Yelp
one of the better thai places near campus! fair priced a and the portions are pretty big. the special beef noodle soup was hearty and flavorful, and the meat was so tender. thai tea was good too, you could tell it wasn't powder!

J. Chris O.

Yelp
I don't know who you've become or who you think you are. But if your restaurant is only 1/4 full don't say there's a 15 minute wait. Used to be a regular customer so much for that. It's also a Monday. Good luck handling a weekend. We left by the way and didn't wait.

Zach S.

Yelp
The food is mediocre at best. Got a pad Thai and it was really sweet and soggy. It felt like the server was rushing me out. Ambience is... austere. They've had graffiti over the entrance for over a year.

Sarah D.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic, affordable, fish tank, chili sauces, curry, veggies, fresh basil

Weiyuan S.

Yelp
One of the worst places I have tried. Ordered 2 curries, 2 noodle dishes for four persons, everyone ended up hating their food and can't finish it. I had just a couple bites and decided to throw it away.

Brad G.

Yelp
They give you zero silverware ordering $50 of takeout...that is worth a negative two stars easy

Enrique G.

Yelp
First time there. Staff was very nice and the pad Thai was exceptional. Good amount of food and protein for the price. Would recommend to friends.

Maddy C.

Yelp
This is literally the worst thai food i have ever had. Got on grub hub, the pad thai was inedible. Like maybe they don't use real eggs? Bean sprouts and basil were brown. Green curry fried rice was dry and horrible. "Cucumber salad" was warm pieces of cucumber in like sugar and vinegar only? So so gross; i am furious i spent $50 to get two dishes delivered ugh

Yelp
I ordered: Tofu and Vegetables in Hot Chili Sauce and it was not spicy at all. The sauce was watery and sickly sweet. The tofu was overcooked and shriveled. The upside is the veg (broccoli most notably) were fresh with just the right crisp. Meat and Shrimp with Indian Curry: Like the above, the vegetables were fresh (broccoli most notably) but the curry was not spicy at all. The description describes it as spicy and it isn't. I found the sauce to be bland. Will I order again? No. If you want spicy as most of the menu items depict, order extra spicy.

Jacob R.

Yelp
The server was so kind and accommodating after we had to send an order back due to a nut allergy. The inside ambiance can be a little cramped, but I'm there for the food and the Pa Nang is so good.

Yeonhwa S.

Yelp
This place was way better than I expected. I went in and the place isn't fancy or anything so I didn't expect much. It was also super hot and stuffy in there :/ But the food was amazing! We ordered 6 dishes and all of them were delicious. Fried rice was surprisingly good. Pad thai, pad see ew, green curry were above average too.

Jon P.

Yelp
When there on a Friday night and the food was so good. Really liked everything there, especially the coconut ice cream. Food was quickly cooked and sit down was prompt. Also love the attached private parking lot. Super convenient for the campus area.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and was sorely disappointed. They have a variety of lunch items on special but they are anything but special. Ordered the Thai Fried Rice and it was so bland with morsels of chicken in it. The Pad Zee Eww was also just morsels of chicken, couldn't even manage to eat any of it even though I had been starving all day. Service was not good too. The girl was very harsh and would run off mid conversation with you. She gave me the bill for someone else's check twice and looked at me like I was crazy. Oh and there was a roach crawling in the wall next to us.

Amanda K.

Yelp
My husband and I needed a quick bite to eat and we stopped here at Thai Kitchen after our original choice for dinner was closed. Thai food is always a hit or miss for me in general after enjoying authentic Thai food while in my worldly travels. My husband and I first ordered spring rolls which came out super quick. The peanut sauce was flavorful and the spring rolls were yummy. For our main dishes, I ordered the shrimp green curry and asked for Thai Spicy. My husband ordered the Evil Jungle which was labeled two star spicy out of three. Both meals were full of flavor and the waiter left us with spices on the table. I added even more spices to my green curry to make it, even more, spicier without sacrificing flavor. My shrimp green curry lacked shrimp. I believe I had maybe 5? Overall this is a decent spot for Thai food that is flavorful.

Yelp
I have loved this place for years. They close daily at 2:30, arrived today at 1:55 and "they were no longer accepting dine in". I go on my lunch break and am typically in and out in 30 minutes so there was plenty of time. If you are floating early post something so people don't waste the trip, it will be while before I consider coming back :(

Michelle L.

Yelp
6/10 Eat again? Maybe Overall This restaurant has pretty good Thai food for a pretty standard price. The interior is nothing amazing but doesn't take away from the experience. Favorite dish: Pad Zee Ew This dish is really tasty and hits the spot when I'm craving Thai. I wish there was more broccoli and chicken though. Also got: pad Thai I thought this was also pretty good, but my personal favorite is still the pad zee ew. Ambience It's a pretty dark interior with not a lot of decor. One cool thing was that they had a big fish tank with some cool looking fish! A nice place to chat with some friends without going somewhere fancy.

Elvis P.

Yelp
Zero stars. Just awful. This is fake Thai food. Served cold. No sauce, no taste. Dry, chewy. Don't even think about patronizing this place. Our part tried five different entrees and they were all bad, very bad. You have been warned !

Monica K.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a week or so because it delivers to my workplace. I finally decided to give it a chance on a day when it was pretty impossible for me to leave to grab lunch. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai with a side salad and an iced tea. At first I thought the portion size seemed small. However, it was the perfect amount of food for lunch. Just enough to keep you full and your energy sustained while not sending you into a food coma. Also, there was a surprise spring roll that came with my order which really was a high point of my day (don't judge me for the lack of excitement in my 9-5). The spring roll was delicious and the pad thai was pretty good as well. The chicken was on the verge of dry, but overall not too bad. The iced tea came in a HUGE cup and was also pretty good, if you like unsweetened iced tea. My main complaints had to do with the delivery and not the food itself. It took about 10-15 minutes longer than estimated for my food to arrive. Also, the driver did not follow the delivery directions I had specified in the order, so I had no idea where he was located in the building when he called for me to pick-up my food from him. Luckily someone who knows me saw him and offered to bring the food to me. But had that person not run into the delivery driver, who knows how long it may have taken to get my food.

Yelp
Ordered takeout after not eating here for a few years. Everything was spicy as promised, fresh, flavorful. Pad Thai was a little dry and light on the sauce. Dynamite squid was great.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I've been on a Thai food marathon lately and my life is all the better for it. Oh my god the pad thai, it so yummie, i'll be fat one day if I don't stop my thai roller coaster ride.

Krista B.

Yelp
First time eating here was ordering through DoorDash and I was pleasantly surprised! The Pad See Ew was delicious! The steamed pork dumplings were not great, in my opinion, but I would definitely be willing to try their other dishes. Thanks for delivering during COVID-19! Support your local ATX restaurants!

Rion R.

Yelp
I have been a long time proponent for this restaurant and every time i have been here the food has been amazing! Local and authentic the spices and ingredients are always fresh and tasty!!!! I highly recommend this establishment! The servers are very polite and kind and quick!!!!!!! A+

Nick B.

Yelp
Came here to support a local small business and fulfill my Thai cravings. Looking at the reviews it looked very promising, so I had to give it a try. Service was fast and friendly, seating us outside per COVID protocol. The food, however, was not up to par. Serving sizes are a joke...if your going to charge $10 for food, it should not be half the tiny container. Flavors of both were bland and diluted, was not impressed. I do not like to give bad reviews, especially during covid times, but honesty is everything. I do not recommend going here for Thai food. The portion and pricing does not compete with other Thai restaurants in Austin.

Yelp
Food tasted good but health inspection score is only 70 :/ never again And this isn't a one time occurance

Elena C.

Yelp
Great food, quick service, kind staff!!! My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and loved it. Comparable to Madam Ma'am's (one of our fav places in West Campus)! Highly recommend. We had the Pad Thai with pork and the Drunken Noodles with chicken, both were delicious! Will be coming back :)

Yelp
We've been eating here for 38 years in all locations they've had over the years, starting with the William Cannon location. The food is still great and consistent. We've tried all the new Thai restaurants that have come and gone, and are still here. Some have been good at times but nobody can touch the quality and consistency of Thai Kitchen. It's one of our weekly "go to" restaurants. I'm always amazed by how much food to go is being cranked out by the tiny kitchen with minimal staff.

Davin G.

Yelp
Your hours say 11am-2:30 & 5pm -9:45pm I arrive at 1:30pm FOR LUNCH and I'm told....."take out only we just closed for lunch" You are seriously open 11am to 1:30pm for lunch??????

Dee L.

Yelp
My mom introduced me to this place back when they were located on Wm Cannon and I've been going to Thai Kitchen ever since. The drunken noodles are spicy and delicious. My favorite is the veggie tom kha soup with extra mushrooms. You can customize heat levels for most of their menu items too. For dessert try the coconut ice cream and coconut cream cups you won't be disappointed.

Danan R.

Yelp
Ordered delivery which was late and came without any utensils. The food itself is very meh save for the green curry which was decent. A recap: 1. Green curry with chicken: Solid with a nice spicy kick and a decent portion of sliced chicken. The shredded bamboo shoots tasted canned though and the zucchini was very sparse. 2. Pad Khee Mao: Skip. Salty, dry, and very greasy. Definitely lacking in flavor but abundant in salt. 3. Ground pork, bean sprouts, and potatoes omelette: Skip this. This was so salty that I could barely swallow a bite. It's a good concept but very poorly executed. The curry is solid so I would limit to that.

Yelp
Thai Kitchen is my new favorite Thai place! I was so pleasantly surprised by the vegan pad Thai - there are rarely such well-labeled and readily available vegan options at not explicitly vegan places so it was nice to be able to relax and just order something. Even more, it was fabulous! So flavorful - a perfect balance of sweet, savory, salty, and peanutty(?). My dad highly recommends the mussaman curry and can't help but order it every time - it smelled delicious. The tofu satay was also recommended by my dad and it was PHENOMENAL. They are so perfectly cooked and heavily seasoned but in the best way, and perfectly balanced with the peanut sauce. They made me feel like I was receiving a warm hug. The prices are very reasonable, and though I've only ever had takeout, I look forward to having more experiences dining in. Thanks Thai Kitchen!

Kevin S.

Yelp
A Guad institution, easy to miss while driving. The menu's self-awareness can get a bit cheeky but I appreciate the lean-in. Thai Kitchen rules. It's an un-pretentious, hypermetabolic sweat room that'll have you ordering extra sides of rice to finish your entree without combusting from spice-sensitivity. Order: Tiger Cry with 3 sides of rice.

Debbie W.

Yelp
It's simply the best Thai in Texas. Been coming since the 80's, even when we moved away I still come here when we visit. Kind of a hole in the wall. My favorites are the Thom ka soup, chicken w no cilantro. I love their Chicken Wings (omg) it's sticky sweet delish. And I also love the Pad naw gui-chicken or Pad moo naw mai pork ground stir fry w bamboo shoot strips, eggs, jalapeños. And many others. Cut and paste to your notes and order these. Oh, plain fried wontons, pour some soy sauce on those!

Steve B.

Yelp
Thai kitchen has been a go to for me for decades. The Grubhub Delivery Gentleman was awesome, he delivered my food on a bicycle. The Grubhub Team was professional & kind. Happy Holidays to all, with hopes we can help each other more, be less judgemental & be more grateful. With Grace & Gratitude for this blessed meal.

Lindsey L.

Yelp
When I'm in the mood for tofu pad thai, I frequent Thai Kitchen. It's nearby, has parking, always has excellent service, and is so delicious. Their tofu has a great texture and consistency to it, that some other restaurants fail to get right. They also have really good spring rolls and egg rolls with plenty of options for vegetarians. Have been coming to Thai Kitchen for years and always will!

Kate V.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go to Titaya's, Madam Mam's, is Sap's instead. We have given this restaurant 2 tries and both times they have surprised us with disappointment beyond our wildest dreams. The first time we went, we ordered their specialty dinner dishes, which they managed to royally screw up. The veggies tasted rancid. Tonight, we ordered the most basic of Thai dishes - pad Thai and pad kee mao, with the expectations that these are dishes a restaurant could not cook incorrectly. Well, we were wrong. They informed us that our pad kee mao was cooked with the wrong meat, so they were re-cooking it, which added to our wait time. When we received it, it was still cooked with the wrong meat, even though we confirmed with them that we wanted pork. Our pad thai does not have sauce on it. It comes with chopped peanuts, but the dish itself is extremely dry and distasteful. GG Thai kitchen, guess it's my fault for giving you multiple tries.

Taylor Z.

Yelp
I had a similar experience when I sat in. Small portions and I decided to try their lunch special with pad kee mao. Was just okay. The vegetarian egg roll was fine (like any other place, nothing special). The coconut and chicken soup was okay. The main dish, the noodles were great but the chicken was pretty bland. Tasted like it was just unfrozen and the seasoning and sauce was just on the outside. I think I'll be sticking with Madam Mams. Even though the taste is not as good there, I love the portion sizes :)

David F.

Yelp
Great Pad Thai, homemade sauce, average price, amazing taste. The lunch special includes soup or salad and an egg roll. Check it out!

Deepali B.

Yelp
I've only gotten to-go orders here and they consistently get my food done within 15 minutes. As someone who wants food the moment I feel hungry, I appreciate how quickly they prepare my favorite dish: Pad Thai with chicken. This seems to be one of their more popular dishes. The Pad Thai is surprisingly creamy and sweet. For some people, this is off-putting. If you're looking for something savory, then you probably won't like this. I happen to love the sweetness! I have also tried the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodle), but I wasn't impressed. The texture felt undercooked and the flavor was a bit bland. It definitely wasn't as spicy as they made it out to be. If you're a real spice maniac, don't get too excited. For the price, I'm disappointed in the portion sizes. Maybe it's smaller for to-go orders, but I'm not sure... I still swing by to get the Pad Thai sometimes, but there are better Thai places in town.

Matthew H.

Yelp
I really hate giving out one stars.. but gosh what is everybody here on some different wavelength? There was people in there when I pulled up. I just wanted to order soup. It was only to go. "But I just drove 25 minutes to get here, and I live kind of far." Sorry takeout only " is it on the website? I even know what I'm going to order" No it's not. "Great" (He walks away) Oh well. Really wanted to eat something lol.

Megan M.

Yelp
Disappointed in this place. One of the more expensive delivery on Uber eats. Our beef dish is pink and uncooked. Our chicken dish is swimming in oil. And Our soup is full of uncooked mushrooms. I will absolutely never order from this place again. Very sad by this dinner.

Elliot W.

Yelp
Ordered through postmates food arrived with nothing no sauce and every item bland no flavor like eating chalk worst Thai food I have ever had super dissapointed considering we had Thai a few nights prior at food truck by the lake and it was great at the food truck Do not order from here you would be better off with a frozen meal from a market

Jordan P.

Yelp
I usually dine in, but given today's world I had to order my food for pick up. The women who worked there was so sweet. I was walking in assuming they were open for dine in, but they weren't. The women handed me menus and then took my order and was so sweet the entire time. It took maybe 10 mins most to receive my food once I ordered it and it was so fresh and good. They pack a whole lot of food in their to go boxes and they even had little sriracha sauces for to go orders. Reasonable prices and delicious flavors. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my bf had the chicken fried rice with basil and egg- all was extremely delicious, hot, and fresh!
