"Diners sup under the gaze of a benevolent Buddha at Thai Mint, the centerpiece of a colorful mural adorning the restaurant’s dining room. Beyond pad Thai, try a lighter prep with clear glass noodles including pad woon sen, a saute of fresh vegetables with either chicken or shrimp. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options." - Beth D'Addono

Great lunch today the service was fantastic. Starters were the cup of soup with a veggie roll. The soup was super flavorful. We then had the Mussaman Curry which has a wonderful flavor not spicy at all. Also ordered the Pad Thai that also had a wonderful flavor but a bit more spicy but not overpowering. It was a great lunch and would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. We’ll definitely dine here again next trip to NOLA.

Back Stage

Google
Unbelievably good. Service was excellent. The food was wonderful. There were plenty of tables available when we got there but it filled up fast Tom yum soup was so flavorful as were the Pad Kee Mao and the red curry. They make their own chili oil and it can't be beat. Presentation was beautiful.

First timer. Had lunch. Pad Thai, Fried Tilapia and vegetables, and Thai fried rice, all dishes were good. Service was excellent. Lunch plate was served with soup and egg roll. Both were good as well. The overall experience was good.

Is This Restaurant Under New Management? It Has Certainly Gone Downhill. This is long. But a truthful account about how this once good restaurant has become mediocre. I have been going here regularly for two decades. Until Recently everyone has always been so friendly, and everything seemed to be run efficiently. We don't go every week, but we go at least once a month. We have taken out of town company here. It was one of our favorite restaurants. We visited often when we wanted a weeknight date night. But Nothing Good was happening on my latest visit. Look at the most recent reviews. Things have changed. STRIKE 1 I tried to call a to go order in. My calls went directly to a cryptic voice mail. Just a "you have reached (phone number). Please leave a message" Nothing stating the restaurant name. I checked the number. Same thing. It was getting late, and I needed to get the order in. I called several times. After 15 minutes, a friendly young woman answered, and took my order. She said "15-20 minutes....probably 15". I arrive in 20, and still waited another 10 minutes for the food. A small thing, but important. Not very professional. STRIKE 2 Here is where it gets weird. I paid with a $100.00 bill. It was all I had on me, that and five dollar bill. The (manager?), a tall skinny Thai guy, was really bitchy about it. He loaded me up with 17 singles. I politely requested that maybe I could get a couple of fives or a ten? He said that he didn't have any five dollar bills. I said okay, how about a ten? I was still being friendly, I just didn't want a wad of singles. He was acting irritated. His voice got louder, his attitude got worse, and his volume went up. He dismissively said that he didn't have time. You would think that I had insulted his mother. He then started to loudly berate me for using a large bill for such a small ticket ($26.00, with tip). He was very loud, and the whole restaurant turned to see what was going on. I was done. I reached into the plastic folder, and took half of my tip back (I regret not taking it all). And left. He continued to berate me. As I stepped outside, he was still yelling "It Is All Money". It was embarrassing. I wasn't being impolite. This overgrown child escalated the situation. There was absolutely no need for his rudeness and his overreaction to a simple request. STRIKE 3 When I got the food home, it was Ice Cold. It apparently had been just sitting somewhere unnoticed, while I cooled my heels at the bar. And the spice level was none existent. I had ordered a higher spice level. This was incredibly bland. So Cold Food, Zero Flavor. AND YOU'RE OUT! Inefficient Service, Pissy Management, Bland Food. If this is the New Management's way of operating, then I won't be back. There are lots of good Thai restaurant around. All better than what this place has suddenly become. And this if from a 20 year regular. Yes. "It's All Money". This Train Wreck of a restaurant isn't getting any more of mine.

Another delicious meal at Thai Mint. We started with Tom Kha soup, then Cashew Chicken and Pad Kee Moa (spicy sauce on flat noodles). Ended with mango sticky rice - yummy! Service with a smile from the friendly staff.

Google

Very tasty. Great service. Good portions.

Google
Delicious Thai food and good service. Dine in service also came with a very tasty soup that was not included when I got the same meal as take out. I look forward to going again for some good dine in Thai. Edit: After eating at plenty of Thai restaurants over the past two years, Thai Mint has become our Go To spot for Thai, especially at lunch. The complimentary hot and sour soup is the best I’ve had!!

Yelp
Our friends from New Orleans took us to this place on the last night of our visit. The entire week we had been eating Cajun food so we wanted to try different cuisine. I am glad we tried this place. We absolutely crushed it. For 5 of us, we initially thought we ordered a lot. But all these delicious food did not last. For apps, we ordered steamed dumplings and hot and sour soup. Absolutely delicious! For entrees we ordered a ton - cashew shrimp, massamam curry, spicy pork fried rice, chicken fried rice and chicken noodles. Except for the noodles, everything was very good. If I had to pick one, I would absolutely order the massamam curry again. Spicy pork fried could have been spicier. Great service and ambiance as well. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
service is consistently casual and quick. classic unpretentious thai restaurant that you can grab an easy dinner and drinks with a friend. the food was good. the pad kee mao tasted like a quick stir fry. i think the recipe might be slightly inconsistent. i went in december and thought it was the best pad kee mao. then i went this april and thought it was good but not the best. they have apple pay

Kindy C.

Yelp
I tried Thai Mint because I wanted something that was not fast food and not too expensive. I walked in about 30 minutes before they closed for lunch. There is bar seating and there are many tables. I ordered the beef red curry. Before my entree came out, I was given a bowl of soup and a spring roll. The hot and sour soup was a 10/10! The curry had hints of coconut milk and a little bit of spice. My total was less than $16 w/ gratuity. Awesome place for lunch!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Such a neighborhood gem. Fresh delicious Thai food with reasonable prices! I mean, their lunch specials are 10-13 dollars and come with cup rich hot soup and egg roll. Deal. So many options and they let you make adjustments- I like my PadKeeMao no bell pepper, extra broccoli, and they make it perfectly every time. I also really like their wonton soup- clear flavorful broth with bok Choi and plump shrimp dumplings. In my experience, it's the perfect food for recovering from illness- be it infectious or hangover:) The service is attentive and unfailingly kind. We have come for dinner too and the portions are huge! I always have leftovers. When it's crowded it can get kinda loud, but usually I find it cozy and welcoming. Thanks Thai mint for all the tasty food:)

Yelp
My friend and I went for an early birthday celebration. They close at 8 ( which I think is ridiculously early). We ordered our entree at 7:54 and Ice ( owner's son) refused to put in our order , saying the kitchen was " closed ." We both left hungry. We are locals. We were regulars. I'm never going back

Marc L.

Yelp
Excellent Thai cuisine, reasonably priced, in a charming little neighborhood restaurant. This is our go-to place for curry. Service is excellent.

Raelynn H.

Yelp
I love Thai Mint! The food is delicious and service is great. The restaurant is simply decorated but great for lunch.

Diana H.

Yelp
This has been the best pad Thai I've had in New Orleans & dare I say ever in my life? Its so flavorful and they give you so much chicken in comparison to other places I've had before. The portion is huge so it definitely doubles as two meals for me which is always nice even tastes good re heated! Disclaimer I've never actually sat inside to eat I always get it as take out but it's always amazing and fresh. I can only imagine how amazing it is if you eat it there.

Karen C.

Yelp
Pro: green curry is amazing. Also very tasty pad see ew. Good service in the dining room. Right around the corner from Maple Leaf so a great dinner & music show combo Con: they never pick up the phone. I've tried multiple times on multiple days and even witnessed when we were eating in their dining room. They are definitely losing business because of it. 5/5 for food and 2/5 for convenience

Brittney B.

Yelp
So excited to have tried this palace. We live down the street and decided to come try it out. It was very casual cute inside. The staff was very nice and helpful to make a decision on what to order. It was our first time and we never heard of certain things in the menu. We decided to try out something different compared to what we always try when we eat Thai. We tired the pineapple chicken fried rice and the red curry. Loved it all we will be back and also reasonable prices. Follow my page on Instagram for more food inspiration at eatingwithbrit.

Yelp
How have I never been here before? I had lunch at Thai Mint today and here's how it went.: I was greeted immediately and shown to my table. The menu I was given was chock full of very reasonably priced lunch dishes complete with all of the Thai favorites you'd hope to find. I went with the chicken pad Thai lunch portion and it was fantastic! I had no idea that my lunch would come with a fried spring roll and soup. Both were delicious. All of that for 8.95! From the service to the food, there wasn't a misstep. Everything was great and I know I'll be returning very soon.

Becca B.

Yelp
Thai mint is wonderful! Great service with very kind staff. The food is always prepared timely as well. I love the curry noodle, my favorite dish! Would highly recommend.

Mindi L.

Yelp
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in New Orleans. Definitely a GO TO for my all time favorite, Pad Thai. This has become my Friday evening staple. Service is always incredible.

Lynnet P.

Yelp
Great little lunch place! We all ordered from the lunch menu which came with a cup of hot & sour soup and a crunchy spring roll. Both delish. I ordered the eggplant Basil stir fry and flavors were spot on. Red curry was rich & delicious. They say both dishes have a little heat but they don't so tell them extra hot if you want any spice at all. Great service too. Would definitely go here again.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
After eating at several local Thai restaurants Thai Mint was recommended to me by a close friend. I can say that all she told me about Thai Mint was absolutely true. Their Pad Thai is the best I have ever tasted, both flavorful, sweet, and nutty. The Drunken noodles were deliciously spicy and savory with added bonus of basil tastiness. The Thai fried rice was amazing! I will definitely be recommending Thai Mint to all my friends and family in the future! Can I give 10 stars?

Sarah W.

Yelp
One of the best if not the best place for a good sized great tasting Thai meal in the city. The portions are amazing, and the food is just to good. Love the pad Thai and pad see ew! Love to come here when I'm craving Thai food and want two meals in one!! Very reasonably priced as well and great service.

Nina N.

Yelp
Wow!! I don't know if I was just starving or not, but the food was bomb. I've known about the sweet spot for so long, but never came because if it's broke dont fix it right? Wrong. I still have a fav Thai spot, but this is very much worth the try. We got the fried dumplings, Pad Thai and the Pad-See-Ew. The flavors were BOLD and very delicious! The Pad-See-Ew goodness just melts in your mouth. Pad Thai was great, your average Pad Thai! The guy who took our orders was very nice. Check this place out!

Garrett D.

Yelp
Ordered takeout. Custom ordered to ask for added spice on my Co see me noodles and received CHICKEN WATER. NO FLAVOR!!! $15. My SO ordered Shrimp salad. $12, 2 pieces of shrimp, 4 pieces of lettuce and no dressing. I really hesitate to leave bad reviews but this was absurd. I understand people are struggling but the answer is not to rob your customers. Won't be back.

Christian V.

Yelp
This is a great little place on Carrollton and the food is always spot on!!! When ordering make SURE you specify level of heat!!! So far no bad experience. Thank you so much.

Miranda P.

Yelp
Sooooo good! Tried the yellow curry and pad Thai with shrimp and was NOT disappointed. The flavors were amazing, my mouth is watering just thinking of it. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
In the nicest way this was fine Thai food. Nothing special. Price is decent for lunch special and service was excellent, but the food was just fine. Probably wouldn't go back.

Jen B.

Yelp
Covid-19 Report: Thai Mint saved the day when I NEEDED some Thai take-out for my spouse's quarantined socially distanced birthday celebration. We ordered a variety of dishes, each with it's own delicious characteristics, all of which we ATE RIGHT UP! (Except for the fact that we over ordered and had left overs for a few more meals.) We ordered the classic Pad Thai w/chicken (yummy), Drunken Noodles w/shrimp (spicy-licious), Cashew Chicken (perfect) and Glass noodle salad (even better the next day!). They were open on a Monday, during a pandemic, when we needed them. I would definitely order from them again.

Thomas M.

Yelp
Look. I spent 2 weeks traveling Thailand and this is the best Thai restaurant in the city. I live Thai food so I would have lunch in my downtown office at a few thai places. They just don't match up. Solid service, great staff. This is a gem. Their curry's are amazing and properly priced. My work day is easier knowing I will be eating their food for dinner. No bullshit, they do it right and I am so happy to have them in my neighborhood.

J P.

Yelp
Good spot if you're craving Thai food. I've gotten the pad thai, pad see u, and red curry, and they have all been okay. The lunch special is a good deal (comes with egg roll and soup). It's not super spicy though, even if you ask for the "hot" (spiciest) level.

Tyra R.

Yelp
This place is an absolute no!! I ordered shrimp pad Thai ($16.05 w/tax) and it just wasn't up to par. Instead of the traditional peanut sauce flavor with crushed peanuts on top... it taste like sweet & sour sauce. Way too much sauce, my food was drowning in sauce. There was also huge chucks of over cooked eggs sitting at the top of my pad Thai, it was very off putting.

Dianne H.

Yelp
I love this place. My food is always hot and fresh. If you're doing a pick up order be prepared to call lots of times but I promise it's worth it.

Lauren V.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! I had the veggie mussaman curry. It had pineapple in it which made it so much better! Everything had good flavor and was customizable to your heat specifications. My mom had the pad Thai which was nutty and flavorful without being dry. And my dad has the mango catfish which came with a cold salad with a very sweet and tasty dressing!

Jordan G.

Yelp
Awesome little Thai joint. Except food, excellent service. Had the Thai chicken wings, hot and sour soup, and pad kee mao with beef, and all were great. Would recommend!

Alexis C.

Yelp
I've now explored more of the menu and every single thing I've tasted is so good! The curry, the basil shrimp, the beef volcano, their two dessert offerings (mango sticky rice & fried banana and ice cream), EVERYTHING. The service is quick and friendly. The hot & sour soup is my absolute favorite and any other around the city is an imposter. I'm going to continue to break out of my monotonous shell & explore the rest of the menu.

Avani P.

Yelp
Such a great Thai spot! Found this on Instagram through a food account I follow and knew I had to try it. We placed a take out order for Chicken Pad Thai. It was ready in 15 minutes just as promised and the take out process was seamless! Like Thai places usually go, you get a ton of food with each order. My partner and I shared 1 order of pad Thai and still had leftovers afterwards! If you're like me and you need some slice in your life, make sure to ask when placing your order! I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

Camly T.

Yelp
This is a staple spot for me and my friends. We always know we will get a good, more than satisfying meal. It has a small, cozy vibe. The staff were great and checked on us often. The noodles here are my favorite!!! And can we fam about portion size? For the price and portion, it definitely is two meals for me. There's not a lot of Thai restaurants in the city but thank goodness we have Thai Mint.

Aarti J.

Yelp
I did not enjoy this Thai Food as much. I ordered the Yellow Curry with Chicken. Could have been better. Tasted a bit weird, and very very bland. My Boyfriend got this beef dish, I'm not quite sure what it was but after trying a bite of it, I'm not quite sure I enjoyed it too much either. If you want good Thai food in the Area, I highly recommend Sukho Thai on Magazine. They have a lot of variety and their Yellow Curry is Perfectly spiced and SPICY!

Sarah R.

Yelp
This is only for the lunch; however if you pop in from 11-2:30 you can get the lunch menu. I ordered the basil eggplant with shrimp today and asked for hot which was the spiciest option on the menu. We were started with a spring roll and a small cup of a type of hot and sour soup with chicken and tofu. The soup was tasty and the spring roll was hot and crunchy. My entree was served with white rice and had excellent basil flavor; the shrimp and veggies were cooked well (though the onion may have been on the underdone side) though I learned I should have asked for "Thai hot." Total was $11.06 plus tip. Not bad for a work lunch-- it's quick, tasty, filing, and reasonably priced!

Paris W.

Yelp
They never disappoint me. I got the Shrimp Red curry and Thai Ginger Shrimp over white rice. Beef pad see u shrimp pad Thai spring roll . I come here at least one month .

S.J. K.

Yelp
Thai Mint has always been a reliable favorite, but during the Corona Virus takeout they really were extra impressive. Normally Thai Mint has good portions for a reasonable price, but the takeout was massive and with a bonus surprise! Great service, great value, and tasty Thai! Who could ask for more?

Diem P.

Yelp
It's a cute place near my school. I like how it's fast service and everyone was friendly. They offered catfish as one of their lunch options. The portion size was a little small compared to the price, but it was worth it. I'll definitely come back again. I want to try their pad Thai and compared to other Thai restaurants around New Orleans area.

Shantrell T.

Yelp
I love this place so much. The restaurants staff is very friendly and great with service. The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. I go to this place at least twice a month for the pad Kee mao(drunken noodle) and the red curry. Both dishes are my favorite but I recently went with a best friend of mine and tried her pad Thai and it was also delicious. I don't want this place to become Too crowded because it's amazing but at the same time the world needs to know just how good the food is and that there are servers and waiters who know how to treat customers with respect.

Richard A.

Yelp
The Massaman Curry is fantastic - nice people as well. But they lose a star because they literally NEVER. ANSWER. THE. PHONE. After nearly a year of trying and failing to place pick-up orders, I finally asked what in the world was the deal tonight. I was told they "don't have a phone." ??? Then when I came back to pick my food up, I was charged a "take-out fee" (!) So in summary, if you want a take-out order, try someplace else. They literally have zero interest in your business. If you're up for a sit-down treat, definitely check this place out.

Amanda C.

Yelp
Best Thai food in the city. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is casual enough for friends and cozy enough for a date, and the food is authentic. Started our date night with wine and beer, and the cheese roll app: fried wonton with cream cheese, crab and veggies. My husband called it a fancy crab Rangoon. The way they're folded though creates great crispy edges that I love. Then we shared a Tom Kha Shrimp soup. The coconut milk broth has a very delicate texture, and superb flavor. For our entree I couldn't decide between curry and noodles, so we shared the Curry Noodle, a mix of traditional Thai noodle dish ingredients with a curry spiced sauce. The curry spice with the noodles is absolutely divine. I definitely have a new favorite dish! If you haven't tried the Curry Noodle yet, make it your next order.

Nicole Caridad R.

Yelp
Cozy Thai spot on Carrollton that serves up super yummy Thai eats! Their menu is huge so you're bound to find something you love. I like their green curry and seafood noodles the best, but everything looks really good. The service is great too!

Jup G.

Yelp
We ordered four items for takeout. Three of the items were actually good but the fourth item wasn't what we ordered. To cap it all off, when we ordered they claimed it would take 40 minutes because of heavy traffic. When I got to the location after 35 minutes the tables were 1/3 full, making their claim of being backed up suspect. I was also notified that my food was still 20 minutes from being complete. After waiting for 60 minutes since I ordered, I was told that my food was still 5 minutes away. I finally got my food 75 minutes after ordering it. Moral of the story: budget yourself over an hour I'm waiting for your food, and expect that something in your order is going to be wrong.

Nick D.

Yelp
Zero complaints! friendly workers to go along with the great atmosphere. pad Thai and paradise shrimp was delicious. great date spot. will be back :)

Charlotte B.

Yelp
Thai mint is a great place to eat. They have a very friendly staff and great service that was also quick! 10/10 would recommend!

Mona N.

Yelp
Been coming here for the past 7 years and always love their food! I think it's the best Thai food in Uptown!

Kendall R.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and got the lunch special. The serving sizes were a little small but I can't complain because it was cheap and I was full afterwards. I got the Pad See U Noodles and the Panang Curry and both were absolutely amazing!!!! The pad se ew had baby corn which is unusual but it was so good! I can't wait to The place looks like a random hole in the wall but it is a great choice for lunch.

Bruce M.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place on eater and figured it be worth trying. And yes it was!!!! Food came out fast. Service was friendly and the taste tickled every taste bud!!!!! Will for sure come back here !

Marc Y.

Yelp
Nice quiet place with good food. I highly recommend the pineapple rice. The Pad Thai was excellent.

Drew W.

Yelp
Very good. Flavorful. Always quickly prepared and ready for take away pickup. Similar dishes to Equator in Metairie (but for the spicier dishes, Equator is a bit better).

Alexis B.

Yelp
Rudest people. Literally waited 10 mins as no one was working. Only for the server to tell us that he couldn't take us because they had too many to go orders. So many tables open. Staff is horrible

Desmond M.

Yelp
Came to pick up a to-go order. Paid for my order before it was ready. Waited 30 mins. Another non POC customer comes in doesn't have to pay immediately and got a glass of water while he waited. People were not rude but were not welcoming. The guy then sent me a threatening yelp message. He didn't deny what happened though
