"Thai North offers a wide-ranging Thai menu, but longtime fans know to skip to the northern dishes listed as blackboard specials (also called Thai North specials, depending on which menu you’re looking at). That’s where you’ll find a Burmese curry popular in northern Thailand, a few larb variations, khao soi (listed as Chiang Mai noodle curry), sai ua (Chiang Mai sausage), and other gems. The restaurant is delivering lunch and dinner daily, except for Saturday, which is dinner only. Order: Official Website / Grubhub" - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Google
Great place with delicious food! My office ordered from here for lunch and everyone was very pleased with their meals. The flavors are awesome. One con is the small portions and somewhat expensive cost but the quality of the food makes up for it. We will definitely be ordering from here again in the future.

Google
We order catering from this restaurant every so often, and every time the food is a disappointment. Disgusting is the only way to describe the food from here (at least the catered dishes). Overly sweet, too much sauce, it’s the worst Thai food I’ve ever had.

Google
My job odered catering from Thai North, so I got to try the food from this restaurant for the first time which included large pans of chicken and veggie Pad Thai. I went for the chicken pad thai and it was terrible. Very greasy and heavily coated with sauce. My daughters and I generally love pad thai and peanut sauce, but not from this place. Maybe their other dishes are better but the chicken pad thai was inedible and gave me heart burn.

Google
Got a pad Thai off ubereats. One of the worst I’ve ever had. The portion was good so I’ll add a star for that, but flavor was completely bland and unpleasant. And to top it off, I ended up crunching on some egg shells that made its way into the noodles.

Google
It’s Christmas afternoon, and we had saved our appetites all morning for our Christmas family take out. We ordered our meal through Grubhub and delivery took 1.5 hours! Finally, we excitedly open our food to dig in and immediately after having took a few bites, found a large insect! It was absolutely disgusting! We attempted to leave a review on Grubhub but for some reason were unable to? Were we possibly blocked? Please see attached photos.

Google
This is the worst pad thai I’ve ever had!! Noodles were very dry, there were no veggies and chicken didn’t taste good. I took a few bites but ended up throwing it out. What a waste of $15 :( I ordered from this restaurant via Relish and will definitely not be ordering from them again!

Google
Curry dish was standard American Thai fare. Good but nothing special. The creamy Tom Yum soup, however, was spectacular. Incredibly deep flavor with perfect amount of lime. Maybe the best I've ever had. Worth a trip to this place for the soup.

Google
First time ordering delivery from them through GrubHub, very disappointed with the food except for the sticky rice with taro. Besides that got rad nar, drunken noodles, and tom kha soup. Drunken noodles in the picture - clearly they are skimping on ingredients by loading up on peppers and onions. Very salty too. Rad nar was very sweet. Two stars instead of one for sticky rice with taro and fast delivery.

Yelp
I had the chicken pad Thai. It threw me off at first when I got it, but I tried it and it was pretty nice. The color is a little darker than I'm used to, and the noodles were thin and not as flat. The taste is pretty sweet, almost a little too sweet though. The chicken was a little dry but similar to other pad Thai. I give this a 3 star but I honestly would give it a 3.8 if I could.

Peter C.

Yelp
Disappointed by Thai North. The shrimp in a blanket were soggy yet burnt. It was the worst of both worlds. Pad Thai was a giant oily clump. No peanuts, no veggies except about 3 bean sprouts. No really flavorful at all. The chicken it is was ok though. I was pleasantly surprised it was tender and not fatty. OVERALL: I only ordered because it was one of the few thai places that delivered when I was placing my order. I'll go pick up myself at another place next time.

Erin R.

Yelp
Ordered from here on Uber eats and it was just okay. The pad Thai didn't have any green onions in it which I found odd, and the noodles were more skinny than typical pad Thai. The sauce was also kind of liquidy and sank to the bottom which isn't typical with pad Thai. The fried dumplings were kind of bland without the sauce. It was typical delivery Thai food but nothing special. I won't be returning because I feel like I can get better Thai food from other restaurants in the area.

Yelp
We had dinner for three delivered from Thai North on Saturday night. I sampled two of the dishes, plus my entrée. Here's the report card. The Steamed Pork Dumplings (Six for $5.95) were very good. The dough wasn't super thick like you see some times. They were good sized, moist and delicious. The Honey Sesame Chicken ($12.95 was 'Lightly battered chicken pieces fried until crispy, tossed in sauce put on top of crispy rice noodles and topped with sesame seed' was absolutely perfect -a great example of melt in your mouth perfection. It was by far the best item in our delivery bag. My entrée was from the menu's big curry section - a promising looking dish named Seafood Kang Som Curry - (Low calories without coconut milk) described as 'The famous Thai hot and sour kang som curry with napa cabbage, yu choy (an Asian green), turnip, and string beans. It can be ordered with steamed rice, brown rice, sticky rice or noodles. I went with the noodles. Honestly, I was disappointed with the curry. It was served in a one quart soup container because... well, it kind of was a soup. Look, I am a soup guy, I love soups and phos and chowders and bisques, well you get the idea. I have never seen a soup served in a restaurant that separated into two distinct layers like this one did. The top three fourths of the container held a thin but very flavorful broth. The bottom was like a thick muck of a paste that was quite unappetizing. I've never seen anything like this before in any restaurant soup bowl or take out container. In all fairness, the soup was loaded with vegetables, three shrimps, calamari and scallops. But once I finished off the broth and the seafood and the noodles, I left the rest of the mess in the bottom of the container. One more thing - the menu choice showed two hot peppers on the old spice meter, so I expected some kind of heat with the dish, but it delivered none. Maybe all the heat was in that nasty mess at the bottom of the container. Based on the reasonable pricing, the speed of delivery, the gargantuan menu, and the excellent Honey Sesame Chicken, I'll go with three stars. Had the soup/curry dish been better, it would be a clear 4 stars.

Yelp
Amazing! The best, crispiest chicken fingers I have ever had in my life. Fast delivery, if you're ordering online. A little pricey if you're on a budget but so worth it in taste and quality. The basil fried rice was also delicious along with the Tom Kha and crab rangoons!

Raymond Y.

Yelp
My go to for Thai food right now! Authentic and delicious, and portion sizes for the price is very fair. Compared to other places in the area, this is the place to eat Thai! I've ordered here multiple times, and I usually order: Tom Yum Soup - a bit on the sour side but overall great taste Pad Thai - flavorful. Just simply great. There are places where pad Thai is bland and dry, but not this one. Drunken Noodle - one of the all time favorite. The sauce is plenty and so good you will want to eat the sauce with everything. Tom Kua - creamy and delicious Pa-Nang Curry - my favorite curry out of the other curry selections. Usually when there is a Penang Curry option, I go with that! I love the flavor of Penang Curry...Creamy, coconut, a bit of spice (I opted for mild because I don't handle spicy well)

Yelp
Want really good Thai food? Go somewhere else! anywhere else! Food was bland and tasteless! it even looked gross!

Yelp
It saddens me to write this review. Prior to Covid-19, I would come here to lunch with my daughter on Saturday afternoons after Chinese school. I liked coming here for the combo box. You get an appetizer, soup, salad, entree, and a drink. Prices have gone up and that's understandable given the current global pandemic. However, the quality of what was given to me was disappointing this afternoon. I paid close to $20 for lunch today and didn't feel it was worth it at all. I ordered the combo and selected spring roll, tom yum soup, chicken green curry, white rice, and Thai iced tea. The spring rolls were bland and came with a pre-packaged duck sauce packet. Normally, it's a house made sauce. The chicken green curry was tasteless and watery, and there was barely any curry sauce! The vegetables were undercooked, and there wasn't any eggplant in the dish. The only thing that tasted yummy was the tom yum soup. While I enjoyed the salad with peanut sauce dressing, I would have preferred that they put more effort towards the green curry. Perhaps they can just cut out the salad? The container for this combo also didn't seem ideal for a curry dish. Maybe they should rethink how they package this combo? What happened to this place??? Very disappointing...I drive out of the way to come here and won't be back any time soon.

Yelp
Came back to Thai North after many years away. Was excited to take friends here as whenever I'd visit in the past it was always amazing. Last night it was a disappointment. Perhaps an off night, but the food was incredibly bland. Zero spice. Not a lot of flavor. Even the atmosphere of the inside of the dine in area of the restaurant felt different to me. I hope it was just an off night, but it's possible the quality has dropped all around. I used to recommend this place to my Asian continent born friends living in Boston area and now don't feel like I can.

Yelp
Dont eat there it has gone rapidly down hill. Cant sit inside the restauraunt anymore take out only knew it was a bad sign. Ordered the shrimp Phad Thai. Completely changed and awful. Liquidy sugary sauce and thin weird noodles and wow four shrimp in the whole little undersized container. Wouldnt even call it Phad Thai. Got a vegetable dish that was way too saucy and the vegetables had no taste at all. With a side of rice two dishes to go was $38. What a ripoff !!!!! Stay away from this place Im surprised theyre still in business with food and prices the way they have it. Go next door and get some pizza instead !!!!!!

James P.

Yelp
This place has seriously fallen off. Their food used to taste good and now they give you half the portion. It was over priced to begin with and now it's just a rip off. The chicken tastes like it was poached and then microwaved.

Jose B.

Yelp
Some very tasty options here had tom sap soup here today and it was delicious although it wasn't lit from the bottom as I gad been told on a previous visit when I asked about it. Also tried the Wild Boar Basil dish which is very good indeed.

Yelp
Thai North has a variety of foods on their menu that extends beyond Thai food - Chinese, Vietnamese, and just an eclectic mixture. The inside is plastered with pictures of their food and menu. There are maybe 4 or 5 tables, and it seems they mainly do a lot of take out orders. We dined on a Saturday evening, so they were busier and the inside was louder due to the amount of people and small size. I tried the duck noodle soup, which was overall just okay. The broth would have been perfect, but it was sweet, which I'm not a fan. They give you a good amount of duck, and I liked there were no bones on any of the duck pieces. It did come with some vegetables in the broth as well. It appears they only have street parking, which has been free the two times I have visited Thai North. I think next time I will opt for take out and try more of their Thai dishes.

Yelp
I get takeout from Thai North at least once a week. I totally recommend this restaurant for take-out rather than a sit-down and eat, but if the latter is your preference, do it. The service is quick and good. My go-to entrees here are almost always the same: Basil pad Thai with chicken or vegetables made extra spicy, chicken Krapow made extra spicy as well. Occasionally I'll have the drunken noodles or the Krapow fried rice. The chicken Krapow is ground spiced chicken that comes with a side of rice. The crab Rangoon is also not bad, and is extra creamy. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is good for the price. If you order online you get 10% back towards your next order. I've made use of that many times. My rating is based on the food and service, not so much the location or ambience. I'll give 4 for food and 4 for service, so an average of 4. I am taking off one point because once in a while the taste may not be consistent.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. During this time of lockdown I was down and decided that I just needed a delicious meal. I got the drunken noodle which they have a lunch special and the Thai tea with bubble. It is soooo darn good! The food arrived still hot. It is savory and spicy. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the tea...... oh my goodness you are missing out if you skip this sweet delightful drink from heaven. Thank you for being open during these times. Y'all rock

Yelp
So many better options for Thai in Allston/Brighton. I wouldn't order from here again. I got a Lunch Special through Uber Eats. Pad Thai with crab rangoon and tom yum soup. Call me basic but that was my craving! I will say they were very quick in preparing the food and it was nice and hot when it got to me. The lunch special was a pretty good deal but only came with a half portion of pad thai. No big deal since there was plenty of other food. The pad thai was the worst I've had in Boston though. It reminded me of greasy cheap chinese takeout, not at all like the fresh zesty flavors you usually expect from pad thai. Instead it had a bitter aftertaste. The noodle texture didn't help, they didn't use flat rice noodles like most places, but a thinner rounder noodle. The limited pieces of chicken were tough and rubbery. The crab rangoon were ok but had a weird yellow color?? Almost like they added some curry powder but I didn't taste any curry. It was a little bizarre. The tom yum soup was probably the best of the 3 items - flavorful with a little kick. There was also a sad little side salad consisting of like 3 pieces of ice burg lettuce, some carrot shreds, and that ginger dressing you find at sushi places. I didn't touch it. I guess if I was drunk and it was late I would have found this meal acceptable, but any other time I would choose to order from Rod Dee, Dok Bua, S&I, Thai Place, Bangkok, or Bamboo before I chose this place (yeah I eat a lot of thai, sue me).

Michelle D.

Yelp
There is no dine in, only take out and delivery. The food was bland but the staff was very nice and accommodating. The pad Thai and spicy noodles were so so. The egg rolls and dim sum we a little better than so so. The chicken satay had good flavor but the sauce dyed my fingernails yellow!

Priscilla G.

Yelp
This review is based on a giant group order through Grubhub. The food was incredibly delicious! We ordered dumplings, crab rangoons, scallion pancakes, variations of pad thai, soup, and more. Everyone was scarfing their food down and exclaiming how good it was. Not to mention there wasn't one single mix up in the order. Everyone got exactly what they had ordered which was impressive. I think the best part was that they labeled every single dish that was ordered. So when it came time to figure out who had what, all we had to do was read the label and distribute it. We will absolutely be ordering from here again!

Vivian C.

Yelp
Thai North is a Thai restaurant in Oak Square, a short walk from the YMCA. Parking is street only - just read the signs and do not assume. It is a small spot with four seats set along the window counter; a table for 2, two for 4 (easily convertible for a party of 8), and one for 6. They take reservations and credit cards. I love the well labeled food photos decorating the wall to the right, the colorful bits of decorations, and the cute salt and pepper shakers set at each table. As a sizeable party, we tried a good number of dishes family style, requesting that they make it all either mild or not spicy, depending on the dish. TN1. Northern Bermese Curry Spicy $9.95 PORK Choice of pork or chicken, peanut, ginger, pineapple stew in home style Hung Ley broth with toss of cilantro and scallion. Oh so tender melty pig belly! My favorite dish! I even ate the fat and skin. And accompanied with a nice sauce to boot. TN13. Grilled Puerco $6.95 PORK Grilled marinated pork or chicken in skewer served with northern style chili dipping sauce. This arrived as five sticks flavored with a tasty marinade. TN16. Chainmai Noodle Curry $9.95 Egg noodle, simmered chicken dump stick, pickle green mustard, shredded red onion, scallion and cilantro in northern Thai style curry. If you're not crazy about the pickled vegetable in a curry sauce, take it out while it is decorating the top of the dish. There was plenty for us to each have a small sample bowlful. They couldn't make this completely not spicy, but I could handle this level of heat. TN5. Tomato Based Ground Meat Spicy $9.95 Ground pork, tomato, lemon grass, simmered in northern Thai style served with pork rind, boiled egg and steamed vegetable. Without the heat, this didn't stand out as anything special but rather was just ground pork plus tomato sauce. But the pork rind that came alongside was a treat. C6. Eggplant Basil $10.95 CHICKEN Chicken, beef, pork, tofu or vegetables. Stir fired with eggplant, basil leaves, mushroom, string bean, onion, scallion and bell pepper in basil sauce. Got our dose of vegetables from this dish, cooked up in a manner where they retained a decent bite. E8. Rainbow Paradise Spicy $9.95 -SHRIMP (+$1) Stir fried mango, pineapple, bamboo, mushroom, string bean, carrot, zucchini, baby corn, snow pea with sweet sour sauce. The heat level still retained was okay with me. There were maybe 5 shrimp on the plate. V1. Vegetable Pad Tai Vegetarian $9.95 Stir fried rice noodles with broccoli, carrot, cabbage, zucchini, eggs, bean sprouts and scallion topped with ground peanuts. Tasty, but too sweet for some of us. Some dishes came accompanied by an individual portion of your choice of white rice, brown rice, sticky rice, and steamed noodles. We tried all four, and I say, go for the sticky and the noodles! Mango Sticky Rice $6.00 The sliced mango was so prettily presented in a heart shape around the sticky rice. A tasty dessert despite the fruit being a bit under-ripe. Thai Custard (no pumpkin by request) $5.50? (since this was off-menu) I enjoyed the flavor and texture of this sweet very much. Green Tea Fried Ice Cream $4.50 This was good, and it was so nice of the staff at Thai North to send it out to us as a complete surprise after they had discerned that we were celebrating a birthday. I'd be quite happy to come back to enjoy a repeat of the two pork dishes (Northern Bermese Curry and Grilled Puerco) and the desserts, and to perhaps try their Chicken Paradise, Northern Pork Salad, and one of their duck entrees.

Yelp
I ordered carry out on a Wednesday night. No eat in customers but at least 4 other folks came in for carry-out orders as well. Restaurant itself is very cute and the owner was very sweet, offering me a glass of water as I waited. To aid in ordering they also have pictures of all their offerings hanging on one of the walls. Super helpful if you aren't familiar with Thai food. My drunken Udon noodles with chicken was very oily and spicy although I had requested not spicy. Very disappointing . However, since this place is within easy walking distance from me I'll probably be stopping by once the weather is cold to give one of their many soups a try.

Brittanie L.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick dinner and ordered the fresh rolls with tofu and red curry with sticky rice. Overall the food was incredibly bland. The curry was so one dimensional and boring, only mildly spicy and yet somehow the spice overpowered the little flavor that was there. The rolls were equally boring and filled mostly with iceberg lettuce. The servers were all very nice, prompt, I always had a full glass of water, and the restaurant itself was cute -- hence the three stars. The menu was also expansive. I get the sense that this is a good option for takeout. I also get the sense, however, that this is Thai food turned way down for people who find the bold, unctuous flavors of northern Thai food, the necessity of nam pla, and the sometimes painful spice levels to be overwhelming. The red curry had absolutely no depth of flavor, which is worrisome given what a staple it is. I'm not super interested in trying anything else based on my experience. If you want complex, authentic Thai, it's worth the trip to S&I in Allston. Thai North will get the job done, but the food is forgettable.

Alicia M.

Yelp
food was delivered earlier than expected. I didn't receive any notice that it was delivered and was sitting in my lobby for ten minutes. The basil pad Thai was dry and the crab Rangoon taste quite different and looked yellow instead of white sauce. It did taste pretty good. Will order something different next time.

Hagai S.

Yelp
I love Thai food in general. But this place is really good even for a Thai restaurant. You would think that with such a large menu the food might be mediocre, but it is by far my favorite Thai place. A great selection of fresh tasty Thai food! What else is there to want in life?

SL P.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken lo mein, and at the last minute added on the crab rangoon. I'm really glad I did, because the lo mein was really really bland. I am easy to please when it comes to lo mein, but I ended up not eating more than a few bites. In addition to it being bland, it also had a weird taste I couldn't quite pinpoint. The upside was that the crab rangoons were REALLY good. I would definitely order those again from this place.

Exxon L.

Yelp
Ordered a seafood dish, pad thai, & a duck dish. Seafood dish was mostly vegetables and lacks flavor. Pad thai is terrible and isn't like the typical pad thai you get from thai owned restaurants. The duck dish was ok. Went here because it's down the street from my house and was convenient, but probably should have went to my other go-to thai restaurants.

Matt G.

Yelp
I had read a few reviews on this place, and had pretty high expectations. The waitress was really nice and always made sure my water was full. I ordered a side of galbi and the special pad thai. The special pad thai was just pad thai with fried chicken cutlet on top. The galbi came out, and it was really really salty. It was ok, and I guess I should have stuck with Thai food when at a Thai restaurant. The pad thai came out, but I still had the heavy taste of salt in my mouth so it felt bland. I think if I skipped the galbi, then the pad thai would have been amazing. I also ordered the mango fried rice to go, and ate that later. It was really good! i need to give this place a second chance, but without the galbi next time

Jasmin M.

Yelp
Customer service - the lady on the phone was understandable, really nice and patient, which is not something you can say about other asain food restaurants. The delivery girl was extremely nice and pleasant (another thing you cant say about other asain restaurants around the area. The food arrived to my door in 30 minutes, which was faster than I expected. Food - after ordering from a lot of thai restaurants around the area this was without a doubt one of the best I had. Got here hot and really tasty! Also, waited atleast 1 day before posting this review to see what my stomachache thought about it ;) so its safe. I almost forgot to take a photo since I was eager to start eating! :) I ordered the wonton soup with clear broth, fried corn and udon noodles with chicken and veggies. would definitely order from this place again. P.S - I never saw the fried corn on the menu so when I called I asked for it. I recommend to call and not to order online if you see something in the pictures and you cant find it on the menu, Theres a good chance they still make it.

Morgan L.

Yelp
Every single appetizer they sell here is way above and beyond!! I have never had a subpar app. I'm not quite as fond of the entrees but I've only tried noodle dishes so far like Pad Thai. Would recommend takeout over dine-in, not much in the way of atmosphere/decor.

Virginia R.

Yelp
Not only do they charge $3 for less than 8 oz cup of lukewarm "ginger tea", it's not home made or ginger....it's a teabag that clearly states jasmine tea. I ordered through grubhub so I called them. The rep called the restaurant and they wouldn't do anything. So I decided to call directly. I was told that I should have called the restaurant and asked about the tea and that ginger is the same as jasmine. First of all, what kind of markup robbery is 3 bucks for a tea bag? If that's what I wanted I would have got some from my cupboard. Oh and, ummm, even I know there's a huge difference between the ginger and jasmine. Does this guy think I'm that stupid? Shouldn't it be made clear on the menu? Anyway, he still wouldn't give any compensation and then called me an idiot because I didn't call first. Great customer service there ya greedy b*******. Never again.

Grace O.

Yelp
I'm more of a Pad See Ew person than Pad Thai. With that said I decided to stick with my favorite Thai dish and ordered it. Turned out to be pretty good! Pretty garlicky but the flavor was rich. I haven't had any bad Pad See Ew before so I feel like you can't go wrong with that. But I would definitely come back to eat it again. Good portion and reasonable price.

Gavin W.

Yelp
Delicious, fast, and an all around joy. I got the Country Pad Thai and paradise pork.

Alan C.

Yelp
I ordered the Northern Chicken Curry. Solid solid dish. I love Asian food, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc and have a soft spot in my heart aka belly for Thai food. I have a few super favorite spots but this place for at least this dish was pretty dang good. I would order it again for sure, order again from this place when I am back in the area (maybe try something different cause that's the way I am). I wish sometimes yelp had a 0-100 rating or at least a 1-50 rating cause this place was absolutely not worth a 3 star but in my opinion as a foodie 4 is a bit high not really high but I would say like a 3.8. Just as a guide I think a : 1 is a zero never again 2 is either a bad experience at a good place or less than the norm for it's category 3 is solid, for the type of food it's an every day place, good food but nothing great or holy heck. A place you visit a lot but not one you rush to bring an out of towner to. 4 is really damn good. A place that is above their fellow restaurant in their realm. 4 is something you tell your friends "you gotta try this place" 5 Now a 5 is some place where your meal, experience, feel, taste etc was amazing. It could be from cost vs quality or just overall taste of the meal. This is reserved for amazing places.

Fran K.

Yelp
Don't believe the good reviews. Worst pad-thai and green curry my wife and I have ever had, and we've lived in the middle of no-where Kansas/Alabama/Colorado, and their Thai food was STILL BETTER and more authentic than this place. I'm confused as to how food could taste so bland, like nothing, and yet still leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth. I've eaten bad food before, but usually even bad food is still edible - if disappointing. This food was so bad we had to re order from a different place because neither of us could eat more than a couple bites. The attached picture is the exact amount that went into my trash can.

Mara B.

Yelp
We came in on a weeknight after experiencing Thai food cravings at a local watering hole. The place is really tiny- which makes it convenient for people watching! What we had: Tom Kha with chicken, Tigers tear salad, Curry-marinated chicken Shrimp sumai, Cashew-pineapple chicken, and Thai iced tea. The Tom kha was just ok- I felt like it could have used more coconut cream and maybe a bit more galangal root. The broth was a little thin and ordinary. The chicken was pretty average; good amount of curry spice and seared evenly. The cashew chicken was good; I personally would have liked more of a punch of flavor and/or spice. But the shrimp sumai (steamed) and the tigers tear salad were BOMB! The spicing on the beef was honestly what made that dish....and was some of the best ever. On its own it was a bit too salty, but when eaten with the vegetables (as it should be) it was nom-tastic. Yes. The service was fast and....they serve little paper flowers on the straws, so that alone warrents another trip to Thai North.

Rapas C.

Yelp
The restaurant is quite small but not crowded when we walked in around 7:30pm on Sunday. We ordered Tiger's tear salad and som tum tard (papaya salad with assorted sides), which was pretty huge. This is very filling for two people so don't order more than this unless you have more people in your party. You can also let then know of the spicy level of your food. With our previous trips, we have tried multiple dishes. We love the tigers tear and somtum. But we didn't enjoy the pad thai and grilled pork neck so much. Northern sausages and northern noodle were pretty decent though! The food comes out quickly and we also like the service here!

Connor P.

Yelp
Had Thai North bring in lunch for a team meeting today and it was delicious. Everyone got seconds and the portion sizes were massive. We had the chicken and vegie pad thai, spring rolls (Siam rolls?) and the steamed and pan friend dumplings. I believe they will deliver if you order enough, we had them come out to Cambridge to drop all of the food off, and it was all still warm and delicious by time we had our meeting.

Jenny G.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. The Tom Yum noodle soup here is so flavorful and delicious. A great comfort food. Fresh rolls are also really good and the sticky mango rice. When I worked around the corner from here this was a go-to of mine.

Chaya B.

Yelp
I replaced my local restaurant with Thai North. Beef ribs YUMEE! They introduced me " Drunken noodle" Addicted! What amazes me the most is both appetizer and entree are well prepared. A hard find, usually either or. I gave 4 stars because they are very attentive to details & friendly. .... Later on in life kinda went down hill.

Yelp
Got the veggie pad thai to go, sans egg. It was very good, but a little heavy on the peanut.

Yelp
I was craving for noodles the other day so my husband took me to this restaurant for dinner on a rainy evening. We had chicken dumplings for appetizer which was disappointing as it was not fresh and flavorless. I had the drunken noodles which was good. My husband had crispy chicken sauce with sticky rice and he liked it. We both loved the Thai ice tea which was mildly sweet.

Yelp
We ordered delivery and I have never tasted such bland food, let alone bland Thai food in my life. We ordered the pad Thai, Pad See Eaw, Crab Rangoon and Fried Rice and all were underwhelming and tasteless. Both noodle dishes had plenty of sauce, but no flavour. I'm honestly astounded and confused by all the positive reviews here. I'd believe they may have been having an off night, but for all four dishes to have the same issue makes it hard to make that excuse. Will not be going back.

Yelp
Thai North is the light in the dark of Brighton dining, and consistently brings joy to my friends and I, especially through this winter. Friends, family, southern gentlemen, strangers to the wonders of Thai and South Asian cooking have swooned after first bite at Thai North. Definitely choose from the Chef's Specials and the Black Board. The rest of te menu is great, but therein is found the good stuff, idiosyncratic from other standard Thai restaurans. Eat in if you can, instead of takeout or delivery, for fresher dishes with more vegetables. All the people are super nice and friendly, and they will turn up or down the spice level at your request. I'm there just about every Sunday evening, because it's just the best.

Yelp
Wow.... just wow. I found not 1, not 2, but THREE pieces of sharp plastic in my food. Definitely will NOT be going back here.

Yelp
Thai North is one of my favorite Thai places in Boston. Capably offering the traditional Thai fare you have come to expect - pad thai, drunken noodles, etc - where Thai North really excels is their unique northern Thai specialty dishes. I personally tried the Chaingmai Curry Noodles and they were spectacular. The Northern Thai Specialty dishes are unique and always worth the trip to Oak Square. Given the local competition, and the other very competent Thai places in the area, I give this spot 4 stars. I will note that Thai North offers 15% off your meal if you write a Yelp review - an offer that I took advantage of but that had no impact on my review.

Yelp
Super solid Thai food and fast delivery. The Siam Rolls, Scallion Pancakes and Gyoza are all delicious appetizers. The Drunken Noodle and Pad See Ew taste authentic and are just the perfect amount of spicy. Because there are so many restaurants in Boston that I have yet to try, I'm always super reluctant to make any repeat trips...Thai North is one of the only exceptions. With a menu as extensive as theirs, I could go back 50 times and order something different each time. (So I'm looking forward to trying the Mango Sticky Rice, Thai Fried Rice and Pad Thai!)

Yelp
Horrible tasteless food. Very overpriced for portion size. Do not order you will regret. There are plenty of other restaurants that will serve you better

Yelp
The food was NOT good; we ended up throwing it away rather than eating it. The tastes were off and things appeared slapped together without care. I would never go back nor recommend it. The people were nice and service efficient but that does not make up for bad food

Yelp
There is an abundance of options, ranging from Vietnamese pho to pad thai. The restaurant itself is fairly small with a couple of tables to serve around 10 people in total. Photos of each dish are plastered on the walls, which I personally like because I am a picky eater, and I want to see how my dish looks! This place is very close to my boyfriend's home, so we tend to eat out/order from Thai North often. My favorite dish is the gyoza. Very nice and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Just a note: there is a difference between their gyoza versus their regular dumplings. I am also a fan of their noodle plates. In general, the portions are pretty big so you will be leaving with an empty stomach, and possibly some leftovers too!

Yelp
Thai North is found in the Oak Square area of Brighton, pretty much across the street from the YMCA. It is in a rather unassuming location, almost hidden from view. But their food is anything but unassuming. Based on a review in a food blog, a few of us decided to give Thai North a try. We especially liked the fact that it's not your typical Thai restaurant. What makes Thai North stand out is the Isaan cuisine from northern Thailand (hence the name of the restaurant). It used to be the case that the Isaan cuisine was only listed on a chalkboard and available only if you knew how to read it. Thank goodness they now not only put up great pictures of all the possible dishes, but also have the English translation on the back page of the menu. So - just ignore most things on the menu and go straight for the Isaan cuisine on the back of the menu. While most Thai food is a bit sweet with some spiciness, Isaan cuisine seems to be more savory. It possesses a richness and complexity in flavor that, while delicious, is difficult to describe. We absolutely loved the Chiangmai Noodle Curry, with its chicken leg, masaman curry, egg noodles, crispy noodles, red onions and other veggies. The curry enriched the noodles and is actually a good broth to put other noodles in there if you have a hankering to take it home. The Northern BBQ plate was a close second to the noodle curry. The Thai North dumplings were a bit like a savory mochi with chives and positively melted in our mouths. The Duck Salad (larb) is very rich in flavor (a warning to those who may not like more pungent tastes). To finish off the meal, we had their Thai Mango with Sticky Coconut Rice dessert. It was the perfect finish to a great meal.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but it was not at all good. It had zero taste and the chicken was dry. Vegetable dumplings were really bad. Pork dumplings were okay.
