Thai O'Clock - Review - Sauganash - Chicago - The Infatuation

"As its name suggests, this spot in Sauganash serves a variety of different Thai dishes. Thai O’Clock has classics like pad see ew and massaman curry, along with less common dishes like filet mignon with panang curry and salmon green curry pasta." - John Ringor

The best Thai food! Go here. Service is stellar, food is flavorful. Hands down some the best. Ditch the city crowds and come to this neighborhood gem. I was thrilled when they o opened after much anticipation. Order the mussels, you’ll be a happy camper.

🌟 Delicious food and friendly service! We had an amazing meal — the Yum Pla Duk Foo, fish cakes, Seafood Rangoon , Sea Bass with house ginger sauce and drunken noodles with shrimps were full of flavor. The Thai iced tea and coconut ice cream were perfect treats. The staff was so kind and welcoming — made us feel right at home. Highly recommend Thai O’Clock! 🥰

Google
What a discovery! This new Thai restaurant is not only well-decorated and cozy, but the food is AMAZING. My wife is Thai, believe me when I tell you I am getting pickier with Thai restaurants, and this place doesn’t disappoint. The chef is on top of everything and there’s just so much flavor on the dishes. Definitely try the lamb chops, out of this world. A lot of options, so feel free to try your favorite Thai, but if you want recommendations, the duck curry is a must! Service is so good and they are on top of all the details. They opened just couple weeks ago, and if you’re seeing all the good reviews, there’s a reason for it! Try it, awesome spot!

I’ve been waiting for this place to open for a while, and it was worth it! The food is amazing, especially the lamb chops and the Yum Pla Duk Foo don’t miss them. The restaurant looks great, the service is friendly, and the owner even came by to recommend dishes. I’ll definitely be back. If you love good Thai food, you should try this place. FYI: It’s BYOB.

First time visiting this spot and all I can say is wow! 😍 The vibe is sleek, modern, and perfect for a date night or a special outing.✨ I ordered takeout and tried the scallop rangoons and wonton soup—both were packed with incredible flavor! While every place has its own take on wonton soup, this one stood out with a rich, satisfying taste. I do wish the soup had crab, chicken, shrimp or pork in it along with the wontons, but it was still absolutely delicious. Definitely a 10/10 experience—I’m already excited to come back and try more dishes! 😋🔥 (Oops, forgot to snap a pic of the soup! 🤣)

Had an early dinner ant Thai O’clock and loved everything! We started with fried egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls, and a fresh mango salad. The Tom Yum soup was spot on, and the pad Thai, red curry, and fried rice were all delicious. Portions were generous, we ordered a bit too much thinking we’d have leftovers, but ended up finishing it all. Best of all, Poo and his wife Nan made us feel so welcome. Great food, cozy spot, and wonderful owners — we’ll definitely be back!

I had a very pleasant and delicious experience here. Highly recommended for a comforting Thai fusion meal.

Yelp
Thai O'Clock - Chicago Thai chicken fried rice + garlic pepper steak (with white rice) + chicken pad thai = must try Choose your spice level & customize your meal 5/5 Loved the flavors + portion sizes, staff was so nice, and the vibe is cozy but lively. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner spot. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
11/15/25 - Cool new Thai restaurant less than 1 mile from where is live. Thai O'Clock is @ 4748 W Peterson about 2 doors east of Cicero Ave. I received a flyer in the mail. They have been in the neighborhood for about 2 months. The interior of Thai O'Click is very tastefully done w/vertical light tan strips w/a black background on the top & some red accents spread throughout the restaurant I came here w/my buddy for lunch & both ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered a dish w/basil vegetable w/green & red peppers, green beans, onions & a sprinkling of red peppers w/chicken added. I also added a chicken satay w/peanut sauce & white rice. My body ordered the same thing but he got 3 tiny pieces of shumai Our server & I think the owner too (sorry I forgot her name) was outstanding & super friendly. She came around on several occasions & asked if we needed anything else. I will probably be back when the desire for Thai food arises. Beautiful restaurant, good food & outstanding service less than 1 mile from my house

Yelp
Small thai restaurant with both seating and carry out options. Waitress was attentive and food was served very quickly. I had cucumber salad (tasty, not overly dressed) and pad thai with shrimp (tasty, enough for this meal and some leftover)! Prices were pretty average for thai food these days. Would visit again if in the area!

Yelp
Went for a birthday celebration and had such a wonderful time. All the staff were so kind and accommodating. The space is small but it is very clean and well decorated. The food was overall excellent but the new Zealand lamb chops stood out the most. The spice level is low but they have a great chili sauce and jalapeno sauce to add to the food. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Beautiful, spotless little space and the food was great. We had a salad with fresh crispy greens, spicy basil with chicken, and pad kee mao with tofu. All excellent, plus service was so kind. Definitely coming back. I should have taken pix but we devoured our food too fast!

Yelp
Super clean and inviting space. Food was authentic and delicious. Service was friendly. Seating and food delivery were prompt. Prices are slightly high, but I would much rather pay for good quality ingredients than cheap plates made with inferior ingredients. The owners really seem to have their hearts in this place and it shows. A truly welcome addition to the Sauganash and Edgebrook communities.

Yelp
First time and will definitely be back to try more items. Flavors were excellent and service was very good. Pad Thai, Chili Edamame and Crispy Pork Belly were all great - kudos to the chef. We found our new favorite Thai place!!

Yelp
Loved the food, decor and service. Had the basil eggplant, red curry, hot duck and pad thai. All good. Especially duck and eggplant. We will definitely be back. Servers were so nice.

Yelp
The menu says egg rolls (2) and they give u one egg roll cut in half. No one eats here it is deserted.

Yelp
We decided to try this last night instead of our regular place and were underwhelmed. The prices are high and the portion sizes are small. The food was decent, but pretty middle-of-the-road with other options nearby. We'll stick with our other favorites.

Bob C.

Yelp
This was my first order at Thai O'clock. I got what I considered our "regular" Thai food order: Satay, Appetizer sampler, Pad Thai, and a beef dish. We were HAPPILY surprised by the delicious food. Each item was really good. We'll be back again!

Saiba A.

Yelp
I love this spot and would love to give it five stars because the food is excellent! But the portions are sooooo sad. For about $16 a dish, I expect plenty of leftovers. Each dish is maybe one meal (honestly maybe less than one meal). Please please increase your portions!!

De B.

Yelp
We have both ordered and dined in many Thai restaurants in Chicago and the suburbs. This was the most expensive and by far the most disappointing! The portions came in the smallest rectangle containers at a cost of approximately twenty plus dollars for entrees. We have never tasted Thai food that had absolutely no taste. A follow-up call was made to the restaurant with no apology . With so many restaurants that are more affordable, Thai food that is delicious, do not waste your hard earned money on a complete disappointment!

Debby L.

Yelp
My husband and I tried them out and loved their food! I was particularly happy that there were a lot of gluten free options. We will definitely go back again and again.

Eileen M.

Yelp
This new Thai dining addition to Sauganash is superb! We chose to eat in their modern, inviting store front dining space, and were treated to warm, exceptional service. We sampled and shared the pot stickers (delish), generous and tasty chicken satay (peanut sauce yummy) and a wonderfully spiced Thai Larb Chicken Salad. We tried some entrees that were a bit different from the typical Thai fare and they did not disappoint. Go ahead and try the Spicy Basil Crispy Pork Belly. It's unforgettable. If you're looking for a curry, the Salmon Green Curry Pasta is sensational. We rounded it off with a perfectly fresh and well seasoned Chicken Curry Fried Rice. We LOVED Thai O'Clock!!!

Yelp
Excellent service, clean and welcoming ambiance. The food was outstanding and the presentation was a work of art. I definitely recommend a reservation as it is a small restaurant. I can't wait to visit again! Definitely a five star restaurant.
