Google
Absolutely loved this place! We decided to visit based on the star rating, and it did NOT disappoint. We ordered the veggie rolls, fried dumplings, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodles. Every single dish was spectacular. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The staff was also so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for amazing Thai food and great service, this spot is definitely worth the visit! Highly recommend.

Google
Really great Thai restaurant in north Dallas. Like another reviewer said, we came here based on the Google maps star rating and we were also not disappointed! Our dishes were flavorful and very generous (two people can easily split one entree) and came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Panang curry with salmon and avocado, green curry, and pad kee mao. The kitchen was constantly churning out takeout orders as well, and you can tell it’s a popular neighborhood spot with the number of people picking up their orders. Service was also wonderful— Pam was so helpful and great. We will definitely be coming back!

Google
This place has a wonderful, homely atmosphere and serves incredibly authentic Thai food. They clearly prioritize quality ingredients, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The crab cheese wontons are a must-try! After two visits, this has become a permanent favorite for my family and me. Highly recommend the Thai Basil, Chicken Herb Fried Rice, and Curry Fried Rice

Google
Ordered to-go from Thai Papaya and everything was delicious. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were flavorful, well-balanced, and not greasy. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. Even as takeout, the quality was excellent. Will definitely order again!

Google
The food is great. And so is their service. To the person that says they cook with “heart” I 100% agree, this food has soul. I will absolutely come back. I came because I was sick and in need of soup. I got the clear soup and an appetizer, both were perfectly executed. Will be back to try the entrees. The chicken was perfectly breaded, lightly, perfectly fried (not oily at all), and perfectly seasoned. I dipped it in their house made peanut sauce which was not sugary like every where else. The portion was fantastic considering the price. Love! I see why there’s people leaving updated reviews based on each time they visit. This place is an actual gem, that doesn’t need instagram ads to get customers like every other place around Dallas.

Google
One of the nice Thai restaurants in Allen. Their pad thai dish are pretty good. Their is popular dish. They do serve various popular Thai foods. Come by and supper the family small business. They have good service and good food for a good price. We came in a big group. Tried their chicken and shrimp pad thai with sharable Thai papaya salad (Lao Style). Highly recommend for Thai food lovers in Allen. 🍝

Google
I think we found our go-to Thai restaurant! I want to start off by saying the owner is such a kind soul and kept checking in on us! There wasn’t a moment where we were waiting for assistance! Such great service run by a wonderful family! And the food was beyond our expectations. Heavily authentic and very flavorful! I also recommend exploring the drink options, I thoroughly enjoyed the green Thai tea!

Google
The beef Pad Thai here is absolutely delicious, with tender beef that's cooked just right—not dry or chewy at all. The Thai fried rice combination is equally amazing, with perfect flavors and very generous portions. It's no surprise this place gets crowded in the evenings; the food is simply that good. With its welcoming atmosphere, it's a perfect spot for a family lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I ordered takeout -- it's the kind of test that separates the pretenders from kitchens that cook with nam jai, or heart. Takeout can be brutal. Food loses steam, sauces tighten, rice dries, and whatever soul a dish had evaporates in the fifteen-minute ride home. The person at the counter is always welcoming and feels real, not rehearsed. No hollow hospitality, just that unmistakable Southeast Asian warmth, the kind rooted in khon dee -- good people who serve food because feeding others is still a noble act. Their smiles felt real, their "thank you, have a happy holiday" carried weight. You don't teach that. You inherit it. At home, I opened the CASHEW beef first -- roasted cashews still crisp, onions and peppers and pineapple still bright. Even after the car ride, it tasted alive. This was khua cooking -- wok heat that kisses ingredients fast, locks flavor before it escapes. Somebody in the kitchen knows their pan like a musician knows their instrument. The SUMMER ROLES were a quiet reset -- rice paper wrapped around lettuce, herbs, and vegetables that still had snap. The peanut sauce...thick, balanced, not cloying, the kind of nam jim that comes from someone who's tasted a thousand versions and knows exactly where harmony lives. Then the CURRY FRIED RICE -- jasmine grains stained gold, cumin warming the aroma, scallions lifting it. This wasn't the lazy yellow fried rice you get at places mailing it in. This dish had rot dee, or depth. A cook seasoned it with memory, not measurement. What struck me more than anything was how well my order traveled. That only happens when a kitchen layers flavor correctly -- phet for heat, wan for sweetness, khem for salt, som for acid. You can tell the kitchen isn't just cooking; they're balancing a philosophy. I don't believe this place is a hype machine. There are no TikTok neon signs, no fusion nonsense, no inflated ego on the plate. It is a place where food is made the way elders taught it: fast flame, balance first, generosity always. If you want to know who deserves the credit, it's the owners in the back -- the ones who control the wok flame like fai din (earth fire), who chop vegetables with deliberate rhythm, who season without needing to look at a chart. The ones raised on "make it good, or don't serve it." And the front-of-house? They deliver your food with the dignity of people who know they're handing you something that matters. This is the kind of place you tell people about and not out of courtesy, but because withholding it would feel wrong.....I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Our second visit to Thai Papaya was much better in terms of portion size. This time, my husband and I both ordered takeout -- I went with the Chicken Pad Thai, and he tried the Chicken Pad See Eew. The service was just as quick and friendly as before. My husband said the woman at the front was smiling and kind, and the food was hot and ready when he arrived. We noticed the portions were more generous this time (see photos), with more chicken and vegetables in both dishes. Not sure if this will be consistent going forward, but we'll definitely be ordering again. I chose a spice level 4, and wow -- it was a big jump from level 3! It had a great kick. The Pad Thai had excellent flavor and texture; I'd definitely order it again. My husband enjoyed the Pad See Eew overall, especially the portion size and flavor. His only comment was that it could have used a bit more sauce, as the noodles were a little dry -- but still tasty. Looking forward to our next meal from here!

Yelp
We've been looking for a close by Thai restaurant to frequent and we are so glad to find Thai Papaya!! Thai green tea was so good, wish I could have more!! Pad see ew was DELICIOUS. Got it with chicken and the chicken wasn't dry (which is always my biggest concern). The biggest plus too, is that portions are large. Service was also amazing and attentive. We will definitely be back to try the other specialities!!

Yelp
(Tom Cruise voiceover dusguised as luigi of Spotify's 'you ME & luigi') The vibe is fab hidden Thai restaurant in Allen! Yumi warmy greeted us! She is super nice! Papaya Salad! Thai style! Authentic! Grilled Pork! Soo good! Thai Shortribs! mmhmm. Satay! The keystone to every Thai meal! Excellent! Edamame! Yum! Fried Tofu! Extra crispy. Wonderful! Would order everything again! Thanks, Yumi! Will be back! Woohoo!

Yelp
Trying to find a decent " daily go to" Thai restaurant for take out,I came across Thai Papaya. Based on the reviews and closeness,I did an online pick up order . I was frustrated that check out automatically added 18% tip. I was trying to do zero and leave a cash tip at pick up My order was ready about five minutes after I arrived. The restaurant is clean and modern. The staff were pleasant and offered me a drink while waiting. The food was still nice and hot when I returned home. Opening the containers, both entrees seemed to be less than the size serving I expected. One of the entrees just looked haphazardly put together. Overall the flavors were just ok. I wouldn't go of my way to return. I rate them average overall.

Yelp
FOOD Pad See Ew - The food here is delicious! I got the Pad See Ew at spice level 3. It comes out fresh and super hot. The spice is pretty spicy -- towards the end of finishing the dish, my lips felt slightly numb. The flavors are great. There's the nice pan-fried char flavor. Broccoli is crispy and delicious and the flat noodles also have good texture. Mango Sticky Rice - very delicious. The presentation is great and the mangoes are super fresh. There was the perfect amount of coconut milk/sauce(?) drizzled on top. The sticky rice portion was great consistency too! VIBES The place has a decent amount of seating. There's a super long booth with multiple tables and chairs on the outside seating. A pretty cute little place to get Thai food from. SERVICE The service is great overall! They are quick to take our orders and are friendly. No complaints here.

Yelp
The wife & I had the Thai Coffee-black & sweetened no cream & 2 waters. I tried the basil beef with veges & 2 fried well eggs , my wife had the shrimp Pad Thai; killer medium sized shrimp & noodles just right & Not Soupy!? Fried vege egg rolls (4) per order YUMMY... the bbq pork sticks were delayed- yummy regardless. Service was good & waitress was checking on us; as for the dining area- ok average noise, overall price was about a 4 but dishes were great quality. I took all of our order to the neck. Hahaha

Yelp
My husband and I order take out here a lot during the weekdays. My go to is the basil fried rice with chicken or shrimp. They are usually busier in the evenings so we typically wait 15-20 mins for our food if we don't order ahead. If you're looking to pick up and go fast, you can order ahead online. The food is good, consistent and authentic. Parking is plenty and staff is friendly and accommodating. Definitely will continue to be on our weekly rotation!

Yelp
I had been wanting to give this place a shot. Not too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Quick service. Friendly. Ordered Pad See Ew beef, level 2 spicy. Cream cheese and crab wonton. The shape of the wonton was perfect. Looked like a lot of effort. Upon biting into the wonton the cream cheese was warm but not hot. The cream was still partially frozen. Need a minute or two more in the fryer. This was quickly remedied by the team. Pad See Ew was solid. Great taste. Beef sliced thin and tender. More expensive than needed, but food was a good experience.

Yelp
New place, opened less than a month or two ago? Went for a weekend lunch with family. Ordered Red curry with tofu, Curry fried rice with chicken and Pad ke mow for kids Thai iced tea was very good. Food was served quick and tasted great. I could have used little bit of spice on level 4.

Yelp
A humble Thai diner with authentic recipes on a big menu. In a good spot for parking in a big shopping plaza along Stacy Road. 7 tables for 4, and 3 for couples. Staff is warm & welcoming, with a mellow overhead music system making a relaxed, friendly ambiance. Small kitchen works fast, but with all tables full, do not be in a rush to eat. And the tables do fill up with regulars, and a newbie, Me! One waitress, very polite as she covers all the tables doing an excellent job. What you get is homestyle Thai flavor, and fresh ingredients. There are teriyaki dishes, Loatian, and Pad noodle dishes. A selection of Fried Rice plates, also. Curries, Salads, Noodle Soups. Dietary needs & spice levels options. Teas, desserts, ice cream macaron. I had the salmon panang curry, and enjoyed every bite! The coconut ice cream was good dessert, but I had filled up already. Those big macaron looked awesome!

Yelp
Great customer service! Crab rangoons get a C- as they weren't hot. The herb chicken fried rice was the star of the show! It's a unique fried chicken with friend rice! A MUST try!

Jordan D.

Yelp
Great food and service, they were so busy and our food still got out pretty quickly! Also restrooms were exceptionally clean!

Yelp
Thai Papaya may be in a modest setting, but their food, service, and value are Excellent! As we were dining with our granddaughter, we ordered her the chicken satay (see picture). It came in broader pieces with no skewer than the satay offerings at many other places, along with a peanut sauce and a cucumber sauce. She took a bite of chicken in first the peanut sauce and then the cucumber sauce. To our consternation, she got down from the table and started dancing. "Get back in your seat! What are you doing?" She said she would return soon but she had to finish her dance. "Why are you dancing?" "This is my happy dance! This is the best thing ever and I have to dance because I really like it". With a reply like that, we had to let her complete her dance. She is a picky eater but really, really liked the chicken satay. I had the Panang Curry with beef - extra spicy (see picture). I was a bit skeptical because of the $12 price - but it rocked! The flavor was just what I was looking for and it was spicey enough to provoke a physiological reaction before I was done (just what I asked for). This was a great Panang curry at a great price. The service was very attentive and kind. As we had arrived near their closing time, I had asked if they could still serve us? They said it was no problem but please get our orders in as they were about to close the kitchen. They told us to take our time as it would be a while as they shut things down and there was no reason to either rush or take our food to go if we wanted to dine here. Very kind people. I highly recommend the Thai Papaya.

Yelp
We've eaten here 3 times since opening. Only 3 times because we live in northwest Mckinney and it takes us 30 min to get here. It's always worth the drive. Highly recommend the Red Curry and Chicken Herb Basil Fried Rice(add the extra chicken for $3 and thank me later)! We get a 4 level spicy and it's always great! Keep up the good work folks!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my Go to 1-3 times per week since it's been opened! This is family owned and the same people Working hard day in and day out! Everyone is so kind and respectful and they know and remember me! I respect that and love it! The food is made with love and fresh and good quantity/portions. This is why I Continue to come here day in and day out! My go to is the garlic wings and then the tamarind shrimp! Amazing! At least 8 huge shrimp!
google avatar

Yelp
Best Pad See Eew I've ever eaten. We also tried the baby egg rolls, the steamed dumplings and the chicken satay. Great service and wonderful selection of entrees. I look forward to trying others.

Yelp
Very authentic, great customer service, very speedy execution, really I have no complaints. Would love to dine in. I've only ordered take out.

Yelp
Papaya salad is my go to with Thai food. The Thai Tea is delicious. The customer service was great and quick.

Yelp
Nice clean and quiet restaurant. Friendly staff who are attentive to your needs. The food is fantastic! Everything was fresh and delicious! This is a must try if you like Thai or Loa food. Very authentic flavors.
google avatar

Marley P.

Yelp
WOW! Best Thai food I have had in a while! The orange chicken is lightly battered and friend and tossed in a sweet orange sauce. The level 2 was a mild spice and the veggies that accompanied it were still crunchy and fresh. The fried rice is a must as well as it is not too heavy. Great restaurant for takeout or to eat there. The staff was patient as we looked at the menu, and were there to answer any questions. Casual dining.
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
I called at 6:15 on a Wednesday to order take out. They said the wait was 45-55 minutes! That's way too long. It's quicker to go to Bite Of Lao and Thai on Stacy and the food is just as good,

Erin S.

Yelp
Thus far, we have only gotten takeout and not eaten inside, but everything we have ever ordered is delicious and the portions are good sized for the money.
google avatar

Vasa R.

Yelp
The place is AWESOME, if you like authentic Thai/ Lao food. Service and ambiance were great at this restaurant! We had Lao sausage, papaya salad (Thai spicy! ), fried baby spare ribs with garlic fried in them, garlic wings, grilled pork on a stick, and mango stick rice. Definitely one of the best Thai/Lao restaurants in Allen (and North Dallas).

Belle Z.

Yelp
Growing up in Allen there has never been any good Thai food in this area and now there is a family owned one walking distance from our house! As a Thai person myself this place did not disappoint. We started off with a small cup of the Tom Ka shrimp, to which I was pleasantly surprised with the 5 large shrimp in our bowl. We also had the pork ribs and the fried tofu which my 5 year old daughter demolished them both! For entrees we ordered the pad kee mow which packed lots of flavor and the crab fried rice had a good amount of real crab meat! Last but not least we had to end our amazing meal with sticky rice and mango. We love the small hole in the wall family feel but what made it even better was the friendly service. You can certainly count us on being regulars here!

Clare H.

Yelp
I've had a lot of Thai food in the past and this place was solid. The flavors were good. Level 2 spicy was perfect for someone that likes tiny heat.

Angela V.

Yelp
Really good authentic Thai/Lao food! Ordered Lao style papaya salad, Pad See Ew, and Tom Yum Soup. Would order all again. All perfectly seasoned and delicious. Packed restaurant when we came!
google avatar

Jill F.

Yelp
Drunken noodles are the BEST! We drive from Frisco to Allen to get them. That good!
google avatar

Rice C.

Yelp
We decided to give it a try after looking at some positive reviews here! And we weren't disappointed! Food is very flavorful with an authentic taste! Curry portion is huge! Place is clean! Plenty of parking! There is a bf place across the street and people were waiting outside! I wish people know about this place and give it a try!! We all need to support local businesses!! definitely will go back!!

Yelp
Ordered from here twice now for takeout and the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The heat numbers are no joke though normally we order a 3 spicy and 3 was a little on the hot side for me so I ordered a 2 next time and it was still spicy enough-absolutely delicious and very friendly people. They were extremely busy on Saturday night and had to wait a little bit longer than expected, but they handled everything with Grace and I don't have enough to say about how wonderful everything is. Inside is VERY CLEAN!!! Pretty good portions! So far we have had: 1) pork tiny egg rolls 2) shrimp rolls 3) red curry 4) yellow curry 5) beef lo mein 6) basil chicken 7) jasmine rice 8) sticky rice 9) fried rice ALL DELICIOUS WITH NOTHING LEFT OVER!!!
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious food. Between the 3 of us we had a red curry, noodles, and a rice dish. All were great!
google avatar

Sheri A.

Yelp
This is a wonderful Thai restaurant in a bit of an odd location. We tried crab cheese wontons and Tom Kha soup to start. The wontons were ok, like triangles with thin dough. The soup was amazing, very flavorful. The pad Thai was great, nice flavor but what stood out was how well the noodles were cooked. And everyone's favorite dish was the herb chicken fried rice. Wow! The chicken has a super thin and crispy coating with crispy basil on top. And there is a spicy chili sauce on the side. Then we had the sticky rice with coconut ice cream and it was also a hit. All that and the staff was so nice and friendly.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
Oh no... this place is starting to drop. They take longer to get food out and the quality isn't what it was. The pho is inconsistent... sometimes missing basil, jalapeños, less noodles. I have hopes this is temporary.
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
Love the food and service here. I've tried several things and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. My fried chicken dumplings was cooked perfectly to a crisp. The cashew chicken and the ginger delight was tasty. Just enough sauce and crunchy veggies to make this delish delightful! I even asked to mix their Curry rice with their Pineapple fried rice and they were happy to make that happen. I do like curry powder in my fried rice. They really didn't bat an eyelash at it and told me that they have it in their system now and I can order it anytime I want. The owners are super nice and they've been very accommodating. They are my favorite go-to for flavor.

Jwayne C.

Yelp
We discovered this great Thai place several months ago. We had a party of 8 the first time and all enjoyed their meals, which ranged from curry to Pad Thai. I had Thai wen soon, it was great. Service was good. There are 5 heat selections which let everyone chose what tasted best. A month later we were back again with 5 diners. I had the pineapple chicken fried rice heat #3. Very good, tasty not too hot. Another diner had grilled Salmon teriyaki and Broccolli. Another had pineapple curry. One reason we like this place is it is quiet and we could talk to every one at the table. Our most recent trip Oct.5, 2025 we again had 5 diners. Because all had dined there before it was an easy decision come back.our meals ranged from lomain. to Red Curry. All agreed that they have never had unsatisfactory meal there. Service has been great each visit even with different servers each time. This is our go to for Thai food when in the Allen, Tx area. Oh and 4 members of the group are quite taken with ice cream macaroons, multiple flavors. I have the sweet rice and when I have dessert that is my choice. We will be back! No one likes prices at restaurants these days and the entrees here are about $17, but the food is worth it here.
google avatar

Barry S.

Yelp
What a great new Thai restaurant. Very good food and reasonably priced. It'll definitely get your spicy cravings out of the way.

Ian C.

Yelp
The best Thai food in Allen/McKinney. Try the herbal chicken fried rice, moo ping, or pad Thai. My Thai wife and I come here all the time, and she's picky about Thai food.
google avatar

Alexis L.

Yelp
The best Thai food in Allen, Texas! Excellent hospitality, fantastic service, great atmosphere, and the food is easily a 10/10. We will be back.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service and affordable pricing! I didn't take a picture but the pineapple chicken was delicious!

Yelp

Yelp
Intent on trying an highly recommended new restaurant, I was wry pleased with the quality of the food and the attentive service.

Yelp
Went here with a party of 5 adults, 2 kids, and a baby in a high chair. Food was fresh and delicious with good portions and 2 out of 3 kids loved it (one is very picky)! We live close by and agreed this is definitely our new Thai spot. We're not new to Thai food either coming from both the East and West Coast and this place tasted authentic rather than some fusion Thai places around here. Would highly recommend. Only thing is there's not much seating, but don't let they deter you. Wait a little or get it to go!
