The uh curry pumpkin with chicken that I had was so so great. I really dig the pumpkin in there. It's like a touch of sweetness, but also a little bit of almost bitter. But the chunks, we're perfect size, not mush, and not undercooked. Great flavor and the amount of red curry broth with coconut milk they gave you is as it should be. Enough to order another thing of rice and have it soak it all up. My staple, the chicken satae had nice flavor but not enough. The chicken was tender but stringy. The peanut sauce was okay. Not very strong in peanut flavor not creamy, not much spice, lacking. The beef pad thai was a fantastic portion, a little too charred on many of the pieces, I don't need my egg charred to a crisp. Very close to burnt. Had to ask for sliver of Lime. Which is usually a staple. It def helped. All in all, nice flavor though. The hot ginger tea was very flavorful.

I am a frequent visitor of this place. The food is authentic at a very good price, and the workers are friendly and attentive. Try their lunch special for $9-$10 or regular dishes for $12+ during dinner hours. You can choose from many different spice levels.

In all truth Thai Papaya isn't much to look at, but the food and people are fabulous. Ordering online is super easy and everything was ready at the promised time. I've eaten inside in the past and service is great, Well worth a stop for a delicious, casual lunch or dinner.

Google
Fabulous pad kee mow! Not too sweet like some, a little charred flavor which I love, lots of veggies, Tofu cooked to perfection. My husband had the yellow curry and it was rich and delicious - again, more authentic because it wasn’t super sweet. I’ll out this place in my contacts in case we come through here again!

Google
All around good food . Got the Thai fried rice with chicken and Pad Kee Mao . Both where quite good , no complaints

Google
This is my favorite restaurant. I love Thai food and they have the best.

Google
This little gem of a restaurant is well worth a visit! The staff was very helpful with suggestions/refills/etc. and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Pad Kee Mao which I'd highly recommend. I'd say that I can handle spice reasonably well and if you'd agree, I'd say go higher than a level 3 as there was some spice but not as much as I would've preferred. There were no other people eating in the restaurant which I thought was odd but there was a steady stream of delivery drivers which lends credence to my recommending this restaurant.

Google
Great food! Ordered takeout and it was still steaming when I got home. Prompt service too so didn't wait long at all. Both of our curries were fantastic as were the sides. Good portion sizes! Can't wait to try dine in next time and try more dishes.

Yelp
Thai Papaya is absolutely phenomenal! Four years ago, I didn't even like Thai food, until everyone at work started raving about Thai Papaya's Pineapple fried rice, and I decided to give it a try! I've since tried quite a few different dishes and they've all been wonderful. The prices and quality are phenomenal! My sister's favorite cuisine is Thai food, and lives in another state, but isn't happy with the Thai restaurants near her. So, every time we see each other, I order, like, 4 orders of curry, freeze them, and drive them to her! I'm literally her Thai food dealer. We've tried Thai food all over the country, literally coast to coast, and Thai Papaya still ranks as one of the best! She loves the Panaang and Red curries, my favorites are the Pad See Ew, Fried Rice, Ginger Chicken, and Basil Chicken. (Also, the prices are so much better if you order in/takeout. DoorDash inflates the prices and makes up charges for things that the restaurant doesn't). Please give it a try, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Yelp
Small strip mall restaurant. Food was good. I had the veggie spring roll and Rama Thai. The service was good and attentive. No complaints.

Yelp
When restaurants have been open for decades, trust them. Thai Papaya has been around long before the other 15 Thai restaurants surrounding Zionsville, and it remains excellent! My husband loves Pineapple Fried Rice *only* from Thai Papaya. Add shrimp or veggies to a dish? You'll have no question where your $2-3 went, it's packed full. I'm so grateful they're available on DoorDash so we can enjoy even when we aren't in the immediate area. Each meal includes a soup, salad, or spring roll- they are each delicious!! Ambiance is lovely.

Yelp
Thai Papaya is one of my favorite restaurants to go for lunch. The restaurant is a tiny hole-in-the -wall in a little crowded strip mall. They have seating for about thirty at a dozen close tables and it fills up quickly, so you need to get there early. There is one large table that can accommodate 8 set-up regularly. The servers are always attentive and friendly. Jip was our server today and he was super. The lunch menu offers a wide selection of Thai favorites and everything on the menu is delicious. I generally start with soup, which is a tasty Thai sour broth, but you have a choice of spring roll or Thai salad. Today, I had the Pad Kee Mao with chicken (aka Drunken Noodles). You can adjust the heat level to your preference and I had medium heat. The sauce is made in-house and delicious. The portion is generous with a lot of crispy vegetables and thick noodles. I like the Pad Thai, too, and I hear the Green Curry is good, as well. They serve dinner, too and do a robust carry-out and delivery business. There is one unisex bathroom that needs some attention. You can get beer or wine.

Yelp
Had a great lunch today of red chicken curry and pad Thai. The lunch specials come with choice of soup, salad or a spring roll. Service today was friendly and fast. We were in a bit of a hurry and they offered to rush our food to help us out. Our kiddos split a pad Thai and still had some left overs for a snack later. It's not a fancy place but it's our "go to" Thai spot and consistently delivers quality food whether dining in or carrying out. My office recently catered a large lunch order and it was a crowd favorite, with several requests to repeat the order again. If the atmosphere were a little brighter and refreshed, I'd give it 5 stars.

Yelp
We were craving Thai food for lunch and ordered through GrubHub. I got the cashew chicken and appreciated that their top dishes were labeled as recommended and that I was able to directly choose spice levels. It came as a lunch special, and I loved the soup and spring roll that came with it. My husband went for pad Thai and loved that too. The rice could use a bit more moisture, but we look forward to coming in person soon to try it fresh, as that's always the best way to enjoy a new dish.

Yelp
Vibes: Seem to be primarily a DoorDash or delivery place but the service was very fast. It is good for dine in too. I got the pad see ew. It came out fast and hot. The noodles were great with mild spicy flavor. Thai Basil is used and that was one of the highlights because it really adds Thai flavor to the entire dish. Side of Tom yum soup. The veggies are very well stir fried. There is Carrot, bell pepper, crispy crunchy lettuce, and broccoli and they all have a slight stir fry char and aren't undercooked either. The same goes for the egg. Execution was very good because it is not swimming in weird sauce it's properly stir fried and seasoned. Portion size was just right and I had a little to take home for leftovers. $13 made this very very affordable.

Yelp
we are lunch here and we're really impressed with the food. we had one of the noodle dishes and a green curry, both were quick and delicious. excellent service and value, highly recommended.

Yelp
Unassuming restaurant in the middle of a shopping center? They also have an amazing lunch special with prices you can't get with quick food options? Fresh and delicious? Sign me up! Boss and I decided to get lunch at the first place that caught our eye and so glad it was Thai Papaya! It is a very simple restaurant with just a few tables but what it may 'lack' in vibe it more than 'makes up for' in food and service. For lunch you get an entree and spring roll for about $10. $10?! You can't get much of anything for $10 anymore (fully leaning in with this). I got the Tom Yum soup with medium hot spice. Oh baby that broth was made with love and layers. And you know how Thai spice can vary. Well I can handle my spice but Lordy my nose was runnnnning. Spring roll was hot and crispy as it ought to be. The server was sooo sweet and took such great care of us! I'll be returning for more spicy tears.

Yelp
I stopped in on the way to Gator Motorsports which is just down the road. I came in and was able to order my meal and be eating in less than 10 minutes. The food was very good and I will have to say it was worth stopping in. If I am in the area again, and I do get over here on occasion. I would be happy to stop in for a meal. The staff took very good care of me as well.

Yelp
I found Thai Papaya on Yelp, it is located near my office. I ordered food Togo on the phone and it was very easy. The food was prepared quickly and the order was accurate. I ordered the lunch portion of chicken pad Thai, which came with a cup of Tom Yum soup, my FAVORITE! I love the flavor of Tom yum soup, it is delicious! I also ordered an appetizer, crab Rangoon. The food was portioned well and it was delicious! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Best Thai food in Indy. Every time I come back to visit my family, I make sure to stop by.

Danika M.

Yelp
Our absolute favorite Thai place! We have been coming here almost weekly! My favorite is the Kao Soy.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
We have been coming here for a few years. Love the pineapple fried rice. Overall, seems to be one of the best regarding flavor when compared to many others that are just the same ole same ole. The place is clean and well worth the try. It's good enough we drive 35 minutes to get here, bypassing many others.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch. The Massaman curry with chicken was delicious. I went with hot but may step it up to the super hot next time. Decent portion and price for a lunch.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this Thai place. I've only ever had the pad Thai & spring rolls, but i actually crave it at times. It's super spicy (if you want) and just so delicious. That's all I have to say. If you haven't tried it - run! We always order it for take out and it's always fresh! It's a calm small environment.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
I really like this place, generally uncrowded, reasonable, and good food. Today I had the Thai Basil Stirfry chicken with white rice. It comes with a side for which I choose the spring roll. the stirfry was great, the egg roll was just OK but probably not the right thing to order for take out anyway- they also offer salad and soup instead of the egg roll.
google avatar

Blake M.

Yelp
Usually don't go to Thai often but this place wasn't bad, my friends all loved their Thai curry entrees and pad Thai. I got crab rangoons and an order of their fried rice which has egg in it. It was well seasoned and tasted great! The crab rangoons tasted more authentic and had more crab as well. I would go again , the server was friendly, the service was pretty efficient the food was all delicious and of good quality a little better than most Asian take out style. We actually ate inside, wasn't anything special but was clean and tidy.

Yelp
Great pad Thai and dessert!! Friendly couple owns this place! I need to hit it up again!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We have had consistently good food from this restaurant. They seem to do a lot of carry out - that's all I've had so I can't speak directly to In-restaurant dining. The portions are generous and the quality is excellent. Every time I've dealt with employees they have been courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant for all your Thai cravings!
google avatar

Funk D.

Yelp
This, our second outing at Thai Papaya, and we again are in a small cozy spartan dinning room with great big Thai flavor. As good as, if not better than, the Funkster standard...Thai Lanna. This chilly pre-Thanksgiving Friday evening saw an app of steamed marinated ground pork dumplings (4 @ $5.99). Entree plates ($11.99 ea.) of Padd Kee Mow-stir fried wide noodle with banana peppers, white onions, napa, broccoli, carrots, garlic and Thai basil; and Padd Ka Na-stir fried mixed veggies (the complete veggie bin) in a homemade brown sauce. Each entree had choice of meat plus soup, fried spring roll or thai salad. The service was easy and relaxed, just the way we Funksters like it. Meal time is always the best time of the day and for the Delectable Mrs. Funk and I, Thai Papaya just may have raised the Thai-alicious bar! Stop in and you too, may be... Fit to be Thai-ed!

Yelp
Solid Thai food option. We ordered through DoorDash and it was delivered promptly. We were very pleased with the price, quality, and portions. Spring rolls were just ok. I wasn't a big fan, my husband didn't mind them. Sweet and Sour was fantastic. Tons of chicken and pineapple. Generous serving for the price. Entree included rice and a small soup. Will order this again. Green Curry was a hit with my husband. He was pleased they didn't sneak eggplant in (many Thai places include eggplant). Spicy level was accurately medium. Delivery had some soup leakage but I certainly don't blame the restaurant for that. Soup is hard to delivery safely.

Yelp
The best Thai food in Indy! The guy that works there is always so polite and has great customer service. The place is cute and cozy. I see them constantly clean and wear masks, which is much appreciated. Prices are great, and the food tastes more fresh compared to most other places in Indianapolis.

Yelp
Tucked behind the plaza behind the McDonald's off Michigan Rd., this place was yummy! Came here on a Wed. night for dinner and it was pretty empty. It was great because we had fast service and no wait! The atmosphere was very casual and calm with music playing in the background. Our waitress was very nice and prompt. Their crab rangoon was filled with the goods and had crispy edges...highly recommend. The chicken pad thai was HUGE and so delicious. I would come back!
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
Thai Papaya is one of the best! There are several Thai places in the area but I would come here every time! It's small so don't try to come with a large party during the lunch/dinner rush. It's also in a smaller strip so don't expect ample parking. I use to come here to have lunch with my husband but since he got a new job, I stopped coming here but now I work over here and I am pumped to be back! They're quick (I've gotten my carryout order in 8 minutes before) and the portions are nice sized. I got the Pad Kee Mow because I love the wide, thick noodles and it came with crunchy vegetables, lots of beef, and the perfect amount of spice! Grabbed a punch card on the way out, too!

Yelp
Very nice food Great ingredients and flavors. Had my usual Tom Yum soup, and stir fry Basil Chicken. All in all a very nice meal. Ordered delivery and came well packaged no spills.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai restaurants. The food is always amazing and the service is excellent they are so helpful when it comes to helping me choosing the right thing on the menu. If you don't like your food really spicy i wouldn't go past a 3 spice level. I got a 4 this time and my mouth was on fire. Make sure to try the spring rolls they are perfect .
google avatar

Katy E.

Yelp
Such a great spot for lunch takeout! I tried the drunken noodle special which comes with a side of either salad, soup, or spring roll. The food was piping hot when I arrived. Portion to price ratio is excellent. I never fully know when I order spice level, does medium to me mean medium to you? Or am I about to burn my mouth off? I went on the cautious side of mild/medium and thought it was accurate (at least to me).
google avatar

Pat G.

Yelp
Pleased to say I had a pleasant experience. Thom Yum soup came out hot and tasty and fast.
google avatar

Jackson H.

Yelp
I really enjoy this place. It's near work and a perfect place to head to lunch. They have a set lunch menu with about 20-25 dishes to choose from. The place is small and sometimes full as most people do order and eat there. But, they are extremely quick and efficient. With all Thai places spice level is a real thing. I would say this place is a little liberal with their spices at each level. I get medium and it is a definitely spicier than medium other places, but I still enjoy it. Great place!

Yelp
My family and I have eaten at Thai Papaya since the beginning of this summer 2023. I've always eaten inside and never had any issues and in fact the food has always been amazing. The pineapple chicken fried rice has become our favorite. On the evening of 10/10 my boyfriend and I decided to grab take out for us and kids. We ordered 3 pineapple chicken fried rice and 1 pad see ew with beef. Two orders of the pineapple fried rice were supposed to be regular and the remaining 2 medium. Everything tasted very bland and absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I told my boyfriend maybe they have a new cook. We were really disappointed to the point I decided to call the next day and speak to the manager. Both kids didn't eat their food and I had barely eaten my dish. I had to leave a message as I was told the manager was unavailable. It's been 2 days later and no follow up. I definitely would have continued being a customer but the fact we didn't get any response definitely shows nobody cares and they won't offer to make it right after we spent $75 plus tip!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
We ordered takeout for a work lunch and the order process through Door Dash was easy and quick. The food servings are generous for the lunch specials. I thought they did a great job taking COVID precautions of ensuring everything was wrapped and separated by order. The food was delivered right on time and was still hot when we got it. I would say the spice levels seemed more mild than what I was expecting and the rice was a touch dry/overcooked, but all in all, for a takeout experience, I would order from them again.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Nice little Thai restaurant. This is the second time I have ordered takeout and both times everything has been excellent. The order was ready on time, the staff person was very friendly, and most importantly, the food was excellent. We had their Pad Thai, spring roll, and Tom Yom soup. Everything was prepared just as we had ordered it. Their prices are in line with other Thai restaurants in the area, maybe even a dollar cheaper on some items. Their portions are large, we got two meals out of our order. Very happy with this restaurant and highly recommend it.
google avatar

Christie K.

Yelp
The Pad Thai was a huge serving. The mild-medium spice was just right for me. The dining room is small and quiet.
google avatar

Shores L.

Yelp
I was craving late night pad thai and I scrolled across this gem of a restaurant while ordering doordash since it was pretty cold. I ordered pad seuw which I have never tried before, but I'm sooo glad I did. I ordered it hot (you can tell them how mild or spicy you want it). It was definitely spicy and very flavorful. The portion was way bugger than I had predicted so I couldn't eat it all and had leftovers. On a cold day this certainly warmed my little soul, I will definitely try this place again very soon to try the pad thai and report back.
google avatar

Sierra J.

Yelp
May have found my new favorite lunch spot near the office! I love Thai food but hadn't ventured anywhere for lunch until I saw Thai Papaya's great lunch special. For around $8 you get an entree with choice of meat, and a side such as soup or spring roll etc. I got my favorite Thai dish, Massaman Curry, and it was delicious. The spicy levels are mild, medium, hot and super hot. Since I've eaten a lot of Thai food before I went with the "hot" and it was the perfect level of spice. I may try "super hot" next time. For first timers I would recommend starting with medium. I was lucky to get in right before the lunch rush and my service was quick and food came out fast, which is always a bonus during a lunch hour.

Yelp
The only Thai restaurant I would go in Indiana! Their food is delicious and authentic. Service was superb and price is reasonable. Highly recommend this little gem in town!

Ben S.

Yelp
We ordered thai papaya again this week and had a wonderful experience! Their food is always spot on. They have excellent vegetarian egg rolls and very good pad see yu. We will definitely be back again
google avatar

Yelp
Great food for good prices! They have not cut any corners with quality of food or portion sizes during Covid.

Joelee M.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE the green curry! The service has always been great. My husband has some pretty particular requests and they have always accommodated those with no questions, judgements or attitude. The food is good, fast and fresh. Give this place a try. We really enjoy it!

Yelp
In a tiny strip mall slightly hidden from the busy intersection of Michigan Road and 91st Street sits the tiny restaurant called Thai Papaya. It's a rather unassuming building, and if you didn't know the restaurant was there, you'd probably miss it. I've worked within a mile of Thai Papaya for over 5 years and only just found it as we were returning a rental car to the nearby drop off spot. I counted about 10 tables in the entire place, and only two people working (one in the kitchen, one doing everything else). The lunch menu only has about 12 items on it, most priced between $6 and $7 and come with a choice of soup or spring roll. I chose the #28 - Thai Chicken Green Curry ($6.80). The spring roll did absolutely nothing for me, so I'm skipping over it and talking about the Green Curry instead. It was a delicious green curry paste mixed in coconut milk with bamboo shoots, bell peppers and chicken and served with a side of white rice. I ordered it medium, which was right on the border of being too hot for me. On a cold day though, it hit the spot. I've thought a lot about that curry over the past 24 hours, and as lunchtime approaches, I wonder if it's inappropriate to head back for a second round of green curry. Yeah, it was that good.

Yelp
This is a great little restaurant. The staff was friendly. The place was busy at lunch, but the staff handled everything very well with the speed of the food coming out of the kitchen and the service. They have a nice lunch menu selection at good prices. I've only been here once, but I will be coming back to try more.

Yelp
Our first try & last...Definitely not a good start to a carry out food spot. My husband called to order dinner & the person who answered said that they weren't fluent in English & requested that patience would be be necessary. I would've declined to order my dinner at the risk of mistranslation, but I digress. After pronouncing our order, as if he were teaching a toddler words, he proceeded to journey to the restaurant. Our order was straight forward & a TOTAL disappointment. Chicken Pad Thai & Drunken Beef Noodle. It's bland, dry noodles & scraps of meat or at least shards of some unknown meat matter. The spring rolls were DRY & sauceless. I definitely won't be back & WILL JOURNEY to Egg Roll #1 on the Southside.

Yelp
I wanted to drop some love on this restaurant. I've dined here before and ordered take out when I visit my friend around the corner. I've had the Pad See Ew and it's really good, although I think last time I ended up with different noodles than what I'm used to. Still very good and definitely something I could never replicate at home. Crab Rangoon is delish.....But the thai ice coffee. Talk about coffee-gasm in your mouth. It will certainly wake you up and light a fire under your butt. I really wish we had thai coffee houses here because I could drink one every day. Thai Iced Coffee is just the best thing ever!

Haley K.

Yelp
I was driving up north for this place when I was living down south now I live close and stop by atleast once a week. Best Thai in the City with unbeatable prices!

Brian S.

Yelp
Excellent food just the right amount and nothing was over cooked. The service was very good and he was helpful with all questions.
google avatar

Monica J.

Yelp
Been there twice. The padd Thai is awesome and kid approved which is the highest level of approval. I got the green curry special last time which was a normal portion, def not enough for takeout. It it was only $7. It was spicy as hell but delicious. Customer service is good as well. This is my now my Thai spot.

Yelp
After a good climbing session over the weekend at Hoosier Heights, my partner and I were starving and needed food quick. This restaurant is basically across the street. The staff were very quick to attend to our drinks and to take our order. The pricing for their lunch menu along with the quality ensured that we will be returning! They have 4 spice levels: mild, medium, hot, and very hot. They have chopsticks and forks at every table, making your selection easy without having to ask for something from the staff. I got the Cashew Nut Tofu stirfry with a fried veggie spring role appetizer for $7.99! Worth it! Super tasty and perfect spice level. My partner had the green curry and loved it. I'd highly recommend this place! You cannot go wrong for the great tastes at this low of a price!

Yelp
Haven't been to Thai Papaya in years, but the same friend who introduced me to it then, met me there for lunch just like old times. Aaawww, so sweet. Anyway, he also helped to inspire my love for locally-owned businesses. Chains are okay, but I love the authentic experience that I receive at mom and pop businesses. So anyway, I learned from my friend that Thai food is designed to appeal to all of the senses. At Thai Papaya, you can find something to eat whether you're a carnivore or vegetarian. Lol. Here, I tasted tofu for the first time. Interesting, but I still enjoy meat. Lol. Last time I was here, I enjoyed the Padd Thai. This time, I opted for Kao Pad. This was a savory mix of Thai fried rice with chicken, eggs, scallions, tomatoes, onions, snow peas, and carrots. This was so moist and delicious- I didn't even need to add any type of sauce. I even tried the Thai iced tea. It was interesting, not bad, but definitely an acquired taste. Since we were there for lunch, the prices were more reasonable. The rice with your choice of soup, spring roll, or Thai salad was $7.49 compared to the dinner price of $11.99. What a better deal! The Thai iced tea cost $2.95. I wouldn't purchase the tea again, but enjoyed trying it out once. I enjoy Thai Papaya's quaint mom and pop feel. It provides a nice, casual environment. I'll definitely come back. I hope that you to will visit and help our local businesses thrive and continue to be successful.
