Google
To me, the best Thai places are the ones right off the beaten path and this place lives up to that thinking. The house spring rolls were amazing and the pad thai with extra. spice was perfect! This place is my new go-to for Thai food in Lubbock. 💯

Joshua M.

Google
EXTREMELY RUDE woman at the counter! She has poor customer service and speaks poorly to customers. Moved from Houston recently. Having the experience of Chinatown and many good Asian eats in Houston, this Lubbock Thai is not that good. It was lacking flavor and the noodles were more greasy and sweeter than I’m used to. The interior is VERY small. I will NOT return due to the rude staff.

Amber H.

Google
Very welcoming family vibe from the staff. Bursting with flavor and a perfect level of spice to clear your sinuses. We would be happy to come back anytime. 😊

Justin L.

Google
The servers are very nice, helpful, and quick. As an Asian American who traveled to Vietnam and Taiwan last month, this place is very sweet. I think it is a Lubbock “where you at got to make it sweet” for the American palate. The Pad Thai, sweet. The Thai green tea, super sweet. The curry? I liked it and will give it a 5 star for Lubbock. Everything else, 3 star for sweetness, but if the locals like it, then yes, keep doing that bc that is what they prefer — so make that paper (dinheiro). Overall I give it a Lubbock 4-star. There were a ton of people ordering for take out and dine-in. And I like to support small immigrant business so give it try.

Google
Everything is fine, but the waiter is too rude. I'm togo order. They don't even let me open the bag and add some white pepper on the table and drive me away.

Ja R.

Google
I love it here! Food is tasty and affordable! Satisfy your cravings without breaking the bank! There are so many good food to try so there is a good reason to come back from time to time! Crispy noodles or chow mien is like a comfort food for me. Green tea drink is surprisingly sweet! I am used to drink it without sugar but this one turned out great! Perfect for Summer days to beat the heat. Will definitely check my attendance back there!

Sarah F.

Google
Great all around. Only complaint was that the pad thai was a little greasy. But other than that, amazing food, amazing service. Had Kool Special, Pad thai, and sticky rice with mango.

Edward S.

Google
First of all, the young lady that helped me order (my first time there) was very friendly and patient, and she recommended the perfect meal for me. The food was very good, not too heavy, and it came out of the kitchen quickly. If you want great Thai, food, Thai Pepper is a great option.

Meño M.

Yelp
Great Thai food and great service! We love their pad Thai! Also their curry's are good! I ordered the red curry and it has a good flavor! You have to order first and then you can have a seat. They will bring out the food! The place is kinda small, sometimes it does get packed! A lot of take out orders because of TTU and the hospital across the street!

Yelp
Service was so so. The woman who took my order seemed like she didn't want to be there however when I asked for some extra onions and silverware she was super sweet. Went during lunch time so it was crowed and noisy but nothing terrible. The overall taste of the food was bland I had the Pad Kee Mao and was expecting more spice and basil. I would come back to try something else before writing off this place. So I will update if/when that happens.

Yelp
Love this hole in the wall Thai restaurant! The service was super fast and friendly. Pad kee mao: Very generous portion and the tofu was fried to perfection. Loved the veggie/tofu/noodle ratio. I wished they had used the bigger flat noodles, but overall great. (Ordered the hot spice level and it had a nice kick) Cheese wontons: nice and crispy but the very little filling. We got one with no filling in it :( Chicken egg roll: The filling was super flavorful but didn't really like how thick the wrapping was.

Yelp
The food was good , but the service was terrible! A customer was loudly yelled at because she sat in the wrong section waiting for her order, even though the restaurant wasn't busy and there were no signs. My wife was yelled out for taking a stare from the cup on the counter because the waitress had not given us one. She made everyone feel uncomfortable for no reason.

Sri M.

Yelp
My first visit here was great, which makes it harder to understand what went wrong this time. The food itself is decent. I had the Pad Thai-- but the spice level was disappointing. I asked for Hot Thai Spice and got something closer to mild. Having been to Bangkok and living in Houston, I know what hot should taste like, and this wasn't it. Service was the bigger issue. For takeout, I was told 15-20 minutes. It took 30, and several customers who ordered after me got their food before I did. As an Indian family, it was hard not to feel overlooked, and the delay meant my daughter didn't even get to eat her meal before I had to rush her to class. Bottom line: this place can get it right (as my first visit showed), but the inconsistency in service and spice makes me hesitant to come back. If you do go, order ahead -- and don't expect much heat.

Saul S.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food--authentic, well prepared, and inexpensive. Gets really crowded at noon because UMC medical professionals come for lunch, but service is efficient.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
Best Pad Thai in Lubbock. We did mild spice but medium is the way to go. If I am wrong, let me know where I should try, because this stuff is the bomb.

Michael F.

Yelp
The best tasting Asian dishes in Lubbock. Here is selection from Thailand. Nun, the owner, has a fantastic restaurant, with the best employees, and the finest foods. She has a terrific "Business Model". She also revealed she does not use MSG and can cook these dishes just fine without it. YEAHHHH! Thank you Thai Pepper team for wonderful dishes and awesome service.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Food portions are good. I enjoyed the red curry. The Rangoon/cheese wonton is not worth buying. I barely had any filling in my wontons, just crunchy wonton. Vegetable egg rolls were also subpar, but would fill you up. Service was a little slow but I went during lunch time on a weekday. Ambiance was more of a pick up and go type place but you can sit and eat.

Yelp
I started going here back in college and still enjoy it to this day! Their pad Thai is one of the best I've had. My husband enjoys the spicy chicken. The staff there is always friendly. The place is small so make sure to get there right when they open or do call in but be prepared to wait.

Julie T.

Yelp
Ordered a combination fried rice 15.00 supposed to have chicken, pork , and Shrimp. It had 3 shrimp in it light on the chicken. Had more tomatoes in it than shrimp!! Never again! So dissapointed , do not recommend.

Yelp
I ordered takeaway during a busy lunch hour and came away impressed. While my taste in Asian cuisine is limited to the Americanized versions of Chinese and Japanese, this was my first experience with Thai food. I ordered several items so I could try a little of everything, and I could rave about all of it! Since it was my first time, I opted for the Mild variety of each dish. Being adventurous, I definitely want to try the Medium and Hot versions during future visits, which are guaranteed to be in there very near future.

Karley H.

Yelp
The Cool special is top tier. Cant go wrong with the pad Thai either. Very good, great portions. Consistently delicious and friendly. I love ordering mine spicy. Their Thai tea is also very good, it always helps cool down a spicy tongue. It's refreshing, sweet, and creamy.

Gail C.

Yelp
Our daughter and son in law had us come with them and the people are so nice and helpful The food was fresh and very good One of my favorite places in Lubbock

Jack S.

Yelp
We are new to Lubbock and have tried several Thai restaurants here and this is by far the best one. Great food and friendly service. We highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Food was excellent and very reasonable too. Had the Paht Thai and springs rolls, highly recommend

Yelp
Tofu panang curry and pad Thai - amazing. Still amazing even after being away from LBK for a few years. Love this place.
google avatar

Toni M.

Yelp
Food is delicious service is awesome. I am always craving their food! Cozy clean place!
google avatar

Xochitl D.

Yelp
The food is extremely delicious and we have not ever had a bad experience when coming here. I am willing to say this is the best Thai food in Lubbock. The service is quick. You may want to get there early to beat the crowds. My husband loves that the food is not heavy.
google avatar

Monique B.

Yelp
We've been searching and now we've found .... The tastiest Thai place in town. I think we've tried them all here -- including the ones that are "banned" on Yelp. Food: Outstanding! Recommend the Tom Yum Soup, Panang Curry, and the highly authentic Pad Thai Prices: Super Affordable. $7.50 -$9 for typical dish Service: Great once you get a table. It's a popular joint during the lunch hour. Be prepared to wait for a table. But the tables turn quickly. Self-serve to pay Only wish for Thai Pepper ... be open on the weekends! Would love to come back again

Yelp
NOT THE SAME FOOD OR OWNERS. The service and food is disgusting. When you complain about the food they act like they don't know how to make it better. Always lacking something and never know what your talking bout. THE NEW THAI PEPPER IS MAM'S, THATS WHERE THE OWNER IS AT NOW. YOUR WELCOME
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
I have never been disappointed with the Thai food here. I have eaten at every Thai place in Lubbock, and Thai Pepper is the best by far. The chicken egg rolls are incredible as is the pad thai and panang curry. Everything I have gotten here has been incredible. I have been going here for almost 10 years. It was my favorite hole in the wall when I was in grad school. I was fortunate enough to live right down the street. The family that owns Thai Pepper are community staples, and the wait staff have been working there ever since I've been going. Everyone is very nice. Yes this place is almost always busy. That's because it's amazing.

Yelp
Normally, I love this place. They have updated the interior and prices remain reasonable. Today, since I had a meeting at noon, I walked in at 11:21 am and ordered beef with green pepper with fried rice and cheese wontons - all To Go. I sat on the uncomfortable bench and waited, waited...people who ordered after me were getting their orders. Finally after 18 minutes, I asked and the guy goes "it's on the grill now". Ah. So glad I came early and pre-tipped. After 26 minutes I got my food with a small "sorry" from them and ran out to my meeting. The wontons are awesome, as always, but cheese crusted on the outside of the bag. The beef with green pepper did not have the fried rice that I paid extra for. The beef is quite terrible - zero flavor and I had to drown it in soy sauce to get any type of taste out of it. Overall, if I eat here again, it'll be in person to ensure I get what I pay for.

Yelp
Solid food. Pad Thai was good. The egg drop soup wasn't great though. Not a bad place for Thai food
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Sodium central! I've never had unbearable salty food like I did with this place. Overpriced and disgusting! I have no faith in Texas serving Thai food.
google avatar

Claudia S.

Yelp
Pad thai is the best (& probably most popular item) and I get it its the best. We did combination and it had a lot of flavor. The other stuff we ordered was not just meh lacking flavor or over cooked, or noodles too al dente. (steamed gyoza, pad see eiw beef) I get it we are in West Texas and its not as Authentic as I'd prefer but i'd go back for combination pad thai.

Alex O.

Yelp
Always reliable for a great pad Thai treat when I'm in LBK. The place hasn't changed a bit.
google avatar

Jon W.

Yelp
Great food, fast service and decent pricing. Highly recommend this place. Pad Thai was great.
google avatar

Jill F.

Yelp
Same as last time. Very good. I got just mixed vegetable stir fry. Good. My date got the Catfish Plate. He's crazy about Thai Pepper. I like that's it's not that expensive.
google avatar

Tj G.

Yelp
Food may be great. Who knows?! Due to the poor customer service, signage on the door and website and lack of ability to place an order via phone we did not get to try this place. We walked in at 7:20 pm to place an order since we had been trying to call since 7 and no one answered. I walked up to the counter and the guy working there told me the lady in front of me was the last order. I was like okay. He said, "We close the kitchen at 7:30." I nicely stated that it was no big deal but that it wasn't even 7:30 yet. He stated they weren't taking anymore orders. Anyways food may be great but they don't answer their phone and should change the hours if they stop taking orders long before they close. Go to Thai Kitchen instead, nicer people, better customer service and more robust menu, not to mention they stay open later.

Harry N.

Yelp
Kool's Special is what I always get and each time it has always come out perfect! The food looks good and well spiced and served. I like the fact that they have a larger portion option. I get it in Medium for spiciness and that's just perfect. Hot may send some spiraling into pain! Their egg rolls are the best! Lots of substance and not mushy on the inside, crispy on the outside!
google avatar

Mary G.

Yelp
I have been to Thai peppers before and i went last week. The restaurant used to be crowded and now it's empty. I've had Thai Peppers before and it is not what it used to be. The food is not as good as it used to be. Crazy expensive though!
google avatar

Mallory D.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice and the Pad Thai is excellent! I have also had the Pad Woon Sen which was good! The wait for the food isn't too bad and I will definitely make this my go-to Thai spot
google avatar

Vanilla P.

Yelp
Husband, 2 crazy toddler boys and myself was passing by for lunch on our drive back to Colorado after visiting some friends. My boys has been sitting in the car for 7 hrs so got super restless. My 2 year old dropped a whole plate of pad Thai on the floor. I felt so bad and started cleaning, they were so busy so I didn't expect anyone to help but this waiter was soo nice, polite and also comforted me that it was "okay". They even made me a new plate. I was already off my mom game but it was a very pleasant experience to have very understanding employees when your kids are just off the roof!
google avatar

Abigail G.

Yelp
They might always have a line but the food is AMAZING! If you're a foodie you definitely need to try this place out.

Ale G.

Yelp
I began by going online to look at the menu to order and when I arrived at the restaurant my order was $7 more than the menu stated prices. Now, you tell me ..... how difficult do you think it is to change the pictures from the online menu to the menu the cashier was looking at when she charged me? It wouldn't be such a big deal if it were $1 or $2 BUT $7! N O ! Fix your website
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
Thai Pepper has the best Thai food i've found in Lubbock! The pad Thai is my go to! The prices won't break your pocket and you get a good serving. The staff is friendly and have no problem answering any questions about the menu. They are enforcing their mask policy and are social distancing. This place is great and I really recommend them to anyone wanting to try a great thai place in Lubbock

Ericka D.

Yelp
The food is delicious every single time. The only reason I give it 4 stars is for the wait time for to-go orders. I believe they're short staffed right now and so I had to wait for over an hour for my food However, it's a local family owned restaurant and I will wait every single time because their consistency of having hot and amazing dishes! The mango sticky rice is AMAZING
google avatar

Callie W.

Yelp
Very good pad thai! Perfect amount of spice and delicious! Very nice people as well, highly recommend.

Kurt E.

Yelp
Best Hot & Sour soup I have ever eaten. Give it a try. Most restaurants I choose Won Ton because they can't make a good Hot & Sour. They can here!
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
An hour wait for a to go order? This place was worth it. Wow! I could not believe the flavor, the heat, and the amazing ingredients. Go for it!

Kip W.

Yelp
Paid $40 for two dinners and egg rolls, waited an hour for our food and ended up having to take it to go. When we got home only one of the plates was edible and the other made a huge mess in the bag.
google avatar

Blake R.

Yelp
I love Thai food for the freshness and spice. This place was recommended to us. I was very disappointed. Seating and the lines were a nightmare. We got wontons as an appetizer. They were cold and tasted like they were fried in month old grease. I got the Pad See Ew as my entrée. This is usually one of my favorite dishes, but this was sopping in some very dark sauce that was way overpowering. I am very confused as to how the reviews are so positive for this place.

Donna K.

Yelp
NOT THE SAME OWNERS OR FOOD! What a disappointment. I was in town and was looking forward to an excellent Thai feast. I knew things had changed as soon as I walked in. The dining room had a fresh new look but you now have to order at the register. The gentleman there was far from warm and pleasant. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when the food began to arrive. The filling in the cheese wontons was super sweet and they were overcooked triangles instead of wontons. I had to ask for more coconut milk for my yellow chicken curry and my sister's Pad Thai was nothing like the original owner's dish. I rated it 3 stars because that's what I would have given a new unknown place because it was just "okay". I did learn that the original owners opened a new place in south Lubbock by Lil' Woodrow's. Do yourself a favor and go find them! It's worth the drive.

Kyle R.

Yelp
Delicious, and prompt. Highly recommended! Love their service and the Thai iced tea is great!
google avatar

Yelp
Scene: You just finished a long four hours of work and you are trying to decide where to go eat on your break. You remember some Thai restaurant your BFFFL, Becky told you to try out but can't remember then name. You text Becky but get no response (probably because she was out drinking last night and is too hungover to text back, that slut). Feeling desperate, you google "Thai food lubbock" and there it is; "Oh yeah it was totes Thai pepper", you exclaim. Excited you get in your car, turn on some Rihanna because you are a bad bitch, and follow your phone to the GPS location. When you arrive you see a small plaza just off 19th, a little run down, but that's okay. You get out of your car, your heart races with excitement as you reach for the door handle. As you enter, you frantically look for a place to sit, but you can't. It's fucking packed. 5/5, Kool special is amazing, and it's totally worth being late back to work on Mondays when I go with my mom.
google avatar

Alisha K.

Yelp
Incredible!! I moved to Austin and look forward to getting Thai Pepper every time I come home and are able to.

Twain H.

Yelp
Thai Pepper is my FAVORITE Thai place. Have had Thai in many cities and countries but always enjoy it best here!!! Service is great and the prices spot on. Always a clean and inviting establishment!

Mary M.

Yelp
Tried to order food here online. When I arrived at the restaurant after waiting in line the guy continued to argue with me that they hadn't received an order with my name or with the food we ordered. I understand that it could happen but when I asked him if he could take my order since he clearly didn't have anything in his system, he again repeated that he didn't have my order and that I would need to order again. I replied with "can you take my order since I'm here and have stood in line and clearly you don't have my orders so I can tell you what we want", and his response to me was that "I could go somewhere else if I was going to have an attitude." And that's EXACTLY WHAT I DID. I will NOT give money to an establishment that says I had an attitude because I simply asked him to take my order since I had already waited the 30 min since placing my order online and drove all the way across town and he continued to argue with me that an order was not placed. Thai Kitchen in Lubbock had EXCELLENT SERVICE AND EXCELLENT FOOD. THANK YOU for directing me to the BETTER option for dinner and our future Thai dining needs.
