Undoubtedly, this is the best Thai restaurant in the DMV. They consistently serve the most authentic Thai dishes with exceptional taste and flavors. I have no complaints and highly recommend this place to everyone! Food: Endless menu items and delicious. They offer familiar Thai dishes like Pad Thai and papaya salad and unfamiliar Thai dishes that other places don't have. What I like most about their food is that they use authentic spices and recipes that are close to the original taste. Ambiance: Cozy and warm. The place is decorated with nostalgic Thai elements from childhood snacks, etc. Service: Top-notch professional waitresses that go above and beyond.

Undoubtedly the best Thai food I've had in the DMV area. The soup was exceptional, especially with a touch of added chili & vinegar. The drunken noodles were delicious; I had to take some home for another round. My brother got the green curry and that was also amazing. Only thing I would say is that I wish we got more rice with the curry but none the less everything was 10/10

Google
We got takeout on a Friday night - ordering online was super easy and the service was quick. We got the basil chicken and chicken pad Thai - both were delicious!! They had a good amount of spice and portion sizes were GREAT. Honestly we loved that there were no filler veggies in the basil chicken - we love our protein over here. Would definitely come back and try another dish!

We travel alot and try Pad Thai in every city and this restaurant goes above and beyond expectations! The Thai Tea is made with real authentic tea leaf, not powder or syrup. The coconut water with coconut meat was refreshing (my favorite brand) and the Bua Loi was so warm, soft and comforting; perfect for ending the meal.

One of my favorite Thai restaurant in NOVA!! Couldn’t count how many times I’ve been here but never been disappointed! 😋

Excellent service. Good food. Nice Plates. Coming to this location for a long time. Quality has always been great. Tum Yum Kai soup is what brings me back to this location. You don't see this massive soup. Usually in small portions.

Google
Our Thai food destination! We go sometimes more than once a week. Food and service are amazing. You need to try the sun dried beef appetizer! I tried between 10 and 15 plates and maybe one or two were good but not my taste.

I think I found another awesome restaurant in VA! I ordered catfish & eggplant with spicy sauce, seafood soup in lemongrass broth, and Kaeng som that sour and spicy soup. They are so DELICIOUS ! The layers of flavors are incredible. It's not just spicy or sweet. Definitely, I want to go back and try other dishes😋

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by Thai Square yesterday evening for dinner. I haven't been back for almost five years and remembered that their CRISPY SQUID WITH BASIL is phenomenal. Sadly, we didn't get that this time around, but the one app and one entree we got was still great. GRILLED SLICE FLANK STEAK - 13.50 Good amount of steak and it was seasoned pretty lightly, which I prefer. The steak was tender for the most part (some a bit chewier than others, but no big complaints). There was a nice dipping sauce, too. I'd recommend. PAD SEE EW - 15.95 +0 for chicken, but you'll have to pay additional for more expensive protein like beef, shrimp or seafood. Nothing crazy, but the pad see ew was solid. A bit too oily, but that's what makes it good! A good amount of chicken and Chinese broccoli. The wide flat noodles had a lot of flavor from the sauce and "wok flavor". Overall, good and I'd recommend if you want a basic/simple option. I forgot how tasty and affordable Thai Square is. If I want Thai food that's close by and cheap, Thai Square is a great option.

Yelp
Restaurant is not new, appears to have had more of a hole-in-the-wall look at one point, but I recently returned after almost 10 years and the inside has been very nicely refreshed with cute pastel wall paint colors. Still quite a small space so keep that in mind if you want to bring a large group, you may want to reserve. This place does NOT skimp on flavor or water things down excessively. The food is quite spicy and fragrant. At no point did I feel the need to request the "spice tray" that I sometimes have to do at other Thai restaurants in the US. **Salad: Most of the salads here are very zesty and spicy with lots of shrimp / fish sauce flavor. I don't think you'll go wrong with whatever you order from this category. *Curry: We ordered panang curry (with chicken) and roasted duck curry. Both of these are quite creamy with lots of coconut milk, and not particularly spicy, but still quite flavorful. *Crispy Squid with Basil: One of my faves. The squid pieces are chunky and generous, and the sauce is very fragrant with a little bit of sweetness. I love how the basil leaves are crispy too, giving them a fun crunch along with the fragrance. *Pad Ped Pla Dook: This is catfish with chili paste. I like how the catfish pieces are crispy then tossed with sauce, giving it great texture and flavor at the same time. *Pad Med Moo Pa: This is sauteed pork with chili paste. The pork pieces are very thin but still delicious. It's spicy so beware! *Pig Knuckle Stew: AKA "khao kha moo". The pork here despite being stewed still has a somewhat "crispy" texture on the outside while being tender inside. Flavor is just right, with a mix of umami from the soy sauce, sour from the pickled veggies, and slightly sweet. Reminded me of eating in Thailand again. I highly recommend this dish especially because it's not spicy and is a nice break to balance out all the other spicy dishes. *Salted Fish Fried Rice: As usual, this dish is more about the flavor, and less about actually eating pieces of fish. I've had this dish a lot at more Cantonese / Chinese restaurants and not so much at Thai restaurants. The appearance of this dish here is more dark and the texture is slightly more oily or "wet" than typical Cantonese style fried rice which tends to be lighter colored and dry. However I really enjoyed this Thai take on salted fish fried rice. This restaurant is noticeably less "sweet" than typical basic Thai restaurants in the US, and uses stronger flavors, which is what really sets it high for me. This will satisfy adventurous diners in the US. Also as other reviewers mentioned, the portion sizes are quite reasonable for the price, and I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. The amount of flavor & spice certainly helped me feel full so no complaints there!

Yelp
Decent spot. Lunch with a business partner, and he picked this place. We both love Thai and it is relatively difficult to find one that disappoints so here is where we ended up. Calamari (appetizer) was cut into small rectangles which was a nice deviation from the traditional rings. More substantial bite... And a duck dipping sauce. Very nicely prepared. I took the spicy duck basil entree to go - which came with a side of jasmine rice. I didn't even look at the menu when I sat down because I knew I wanted drunken noodle (which was delish as it is practically everywhere), but I took a look at the menu after ordering my entree and read the description of this duck dish and couldn't resist. I love duck. Thought it would be sauteed or braised. Didn't notice the duck was batter dipped strips and assorted irregular pieces, so apparently I didn't read closely enough. Was deep fried with some basil leaves tossed in - which made it dry/chewy. The duck I don't think was the freshest either. It needed gravy or a sauce, that might have helped. The breading was too heavy so I ended up fixing it up when I got home with some Japanese barbecue sauce, chili oil and sesame oil drizzled. Service was very fast 'n friendly and the ambiance is welcoming. No liquor sold here, just wine, iced tea, and beer - so I had a Sapporo. Street parking was abundant and I got a space right outside the restaurant. Me and my ParkMobile app for the win. This experience overall was mid. No alcohol and average food. Too many really nice Thai restaurants around town so no reason to drop back here.

Yelp
Amazinggggggg Thai food! Found this on a whim and so happy I decided to go. The restaurant is quaint and cozy inside. Customer service was great and the food was incredible!!!! The beef drunken noodles is a must! The spice levels were exactly what I wanted as somebody who enjoys and appreciates spicy food. It was steaming with heat as it was fresh off the stove, the shrimp fried rice was also a good option. I'll be back for sure next time I'm in this area. Highly recommend

Yelp
Got recommended this place by a friend who lived in Thailand for a while. The restaurant is small and gets busy on weekends during prime time - how you know it's authentic and delicious. We got the crispy catfish salad to start. This was the dish that I came here for because I've not seen it anywhere else. The catfish was fried so thoroughly that it completely lost its shape and just tasted like fishy, umami crunchy bits. It came with green mango, onions, lettuce, and a sweet and tangy fish sauce dressing. The dish is basically a texture haven. I only hoped they gave us more dressing. For entree, we got Pad Thai and Krapow chicken. The pad Thai is good but on the sweeter side so if you prefer a savory stir-fried noodle dish I'd recommend Pad See Ew. The Krapow was very good and actually spicy. The portions were generous for both and we had plenty of leftovers.

Yelp
One of the best parts about my to-go order of pad thai was the portion size! I had enough for both dinner and lunch (and I can eat a lot, lol). I will say that flavor wise, I have had better, and I've had worse. I thought the flavors were average, and perhaps a bit heavy on the oil. Granted... I'm not too picky with pad thai! Can't really comment on the service or ambiance as my partner ran into the store on a rainy day and picked up our order. I will probably return due to the wonderful portion sizes, with the knowledge that flavors may vary!

Yelp
In my opinion, this is the best Thai restaurant in the DMV area. In all honesty, that initial statement doesn't mean a whole lot from me because I personally haven't tried any thai food in Delaware, and only few in Virginia. But, I am still highly confident in Thai Square to cook some of the best Thai Food around. The actual restaurant is small and quaint, a home-like feeling decorated with a lot of Thai souvenirs. The menus come on little paddle boards with pages binder-clipped to them which I think is a bit neat but I'd still prefer a traditional folded or one-sheet menu. Back on the positive side, Thai Square's Staff are all very nice people. They are very attentive and speedy with their work. I also noticed that the restaurant has a large customer-base of Thai and Vietnamese people, which is a great sign. The food and drinks are excellent. The Thai iced tea and Thai iced Coffee are both great though. However, I think the Coffee is slightly on the sweeter side but not enough for me to complain or never order it again. But, the key is that both drinks contain milk, which is essential to cut some of the spice off of your palate. A table can get around 1 entree per person and share around family style and it will be more than enough food for anyone. Some of the must-get dishes on the menu are DEFINITELY the Fried Squid with Crispy Thai Basil, the Duck Curry and of course their Pad Thai. For the portion sizes, I think the prices are reasonable. The Fried Squid dish has a delightful savory and spicy flavor, with a really crunchy yet light texture. The plate is garnished with of course the fried basil and fried bits of garlic, both adds for extra layers of crunch in the texture. The Duck Curry has a rich complex flavor that is just excellent when eaten with rice. The Pad Thai has a very nice smoky aroma across the entire dish and even better if you ask for their spice tray and there's various chili flakes and pickled chilis. Pretty much every dish is great with rice and has at least some spice in it that can make your mouth feel like it's on fire from the start to end of your meal. Overall, whenever I am in the Arlington/D.C. area, Thai Square is in heavy consideration of a restaurant to make a stop by at and dine there leaving me definitely satisfied.

Yelp
The best around falls church and Arlington area. Very authentic. Servers are very nice. Serving time is about right, price is a little pricey. I would definitely recommend people. But for holidays, I would recommend to call in and make reservations.

Yelp
Food and drinks is amazing. The restaurant itself is small. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because we waited an hour to get our food and so did other people around us. Service was good though they were on top of our water! Maybe don't go on a sunday bc they were extremely busy and seemed low staffed.

Keima W.

Yelp
I've been here a few times since it's close to my Job. They gave good food and unlike some of the other Thai spots they actually offer shrimp and other seafood options. Their mild spice is just mild enough to have a little kick but not too hot. Medium is spicy but still good enough to eat at a good pace. Their drunken noodles are cooked well and Jane a perfect balance of sticky and saucy. Sometimes the male manager/owner isn't that friendly but that won't stop me from coming back.

Yelp
I came here for the second time last week for lunch with colleagues. The service is always fast and they have one of the best lunch specials in town (1 app and 1 entree for under $15). Yes, you read that correctly! This time around i tried the chicken with cashew nut and it was AMAZING. So amazing, that I've been trying to recreate it at home so I can include it in my dinner rotations. Their thai tea is great as well. You can easily have lunch here for under $20 which is very reasonable!

Yelp
We came here on July 4th with a small group before the fireworks in D.C. This is a go-to for my friend and his group. To get things started, we asked for a table for potentially five people. We had four at the time. They did not accommodate a fifth. We squeezed him in once he arrived later. It was a gesture (or lack thereof) that I mentally noted. Onto the curry. It was not something I enjoyed. Honestly, typing this review a month later, I get a slightly nauseous feeling recalling the taste and texture of it. The taste itself was meh; the duck made it a little better. Unfortunately, and I'm not sure if this is common with Thai food, there was a small slab of skin with hair follicles protruding out from one of the pieces. Just nasty. I probably just don't like non-Indian curry, so maybe I just need to stop trying it out. I had tasted one of the groups' fried duck and I had agreed, it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The fried calamari looked just as good. I think if I had gotten one of those items, I'd set the review to a 4/5.

Yelp
Dine-in: Saturday 5/13/23 8:45p We dine-in on a Saturday night. Restaurant was pretty busy, but the wait was not long. They were able to sat us after 5mins wait. Couple of highlighted dishes, Crispy Squid with Basil and Som Tum (papaya salad). The squid is very crispy and does have a kick to it. The papaya salad is with fermented blue crab. So if you are not use to eating fermented food be caution. Other than that it's packed with a lot of flavors: salty, spicy and sour. Overall, good foods and great service. The restaurant is small so if you have small kids or big party, might be a good idea to call ahead and make reservation.

Heather C.

Yelp
Still 5 stars! Today I had a lunch special which also comes with an appetizer for around $14. Great deal. I forced myself to finish but it was easily more than one meal for me. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed catching up with a friend while eating delicious food.

Erin C.

Yelp
The crispy duck dish was really really good. Everything else was good too but the duck was like realllyyyyy good

Yelp
Thai Square is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. It is a small restaurant with limited seating so if you have a large party, id recommend calling ahead. Our favorite dishes include: - Crispy Spring Rolls - Crispy Wontons - Fried Calamari - Pad See Ew - Roasted Duck Curry - Crispy Squid with Basil Everything we ordered here was delicious and packed with flavor. I want to return to try every dish.

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Each and every time I go to Thai square, the same things are ordered. This time, my party and I decided to switch things up, and everyone got something that they haven't yet from here! This time around, my partner got yellow curry, I got crispy squid with basil, my friend got pad ped pla dook which was yellow catfish sauteed with chili paste, chili pepper, Thai eggplant and rhizome, and my other friend got pad ped moo pa which was pork sautéed with eggplant, bean sprout and chili paste (I think since she asked for mild they took out the chili peppers). I'm so happy I got crispy squid after eyeing it visit after visit. The portion was large and I was super stuffed afterwards. The basil was crispy, the sauce was sweet and tangy, and I ate the lettuce at the end to go with the last few pieces -- super yummy. My friends compared the sauce with general Tso's chicken but better, especially since the squid was amazing and the basil was a nice seasoning. The yellow curry was yummy though I was hoping it would've had more heat to it. The pad ped moo pa tasted like pad see ew without the thick noodles, and the pad ped pla dook was super flavorful, but almost too hot for my liking...however I heard if you go to Thailand, most foods are so spicy past your normal spice tolerance, so it's nice to have that splash of authenticity. My friend and I also split chicken skewers. The peanut dip they serve it with has a nice texture, and the fish sauce with cucumbers was so refreshing, I actually poured it all on top of my skewer and ate every bit of the cucumber. We also discovered that they have thank you mints right by the register. Butter mints are always great after a flavorful meal! Super happy to have tried new things, and am still happy to report Thai Square is our go-to Thai spot.

Phong L.

Yelp
Very solid Thai restaurant- Thai iced tea must try but you can certainly skip the Thai iced coffee. The lunch proportion are big and the dishes are on the spicier side, however you can always ask for the slickness to be adjusted. The pad see ew was really good & it was delicious! The crab meat fried rice was worth to try too.

Soo C.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! I love the service, clean, small and warm environment, the many delicious menu options. They many of the typical Thai restaurant option and others that are fresh, deliciously prepared with fresh and simple ingredients which were all exceptional. The servers were friendly, kind and helpful. Fabulous traditional dishes and has now slid into the first place spot as my favorite Thai restaurant. That speaks volumes considering there are many lovely Thai restaurants in Virginia. Authentic. Cozy space. If you're coming with a larger group, call ahead. Delicious food.

Yelp
Overall Experience, 4.5/5: This is one of our favorite Thai places in the DMV! Regardless whether we eat in or take it for take out the food never disappoints! Food/Drink, 5/5: While our regular choices never disappoint, venturing into the realm of new dishes is a taste bud adventure worth embarking on. My top picks? The Crispy Squid, Salty Fish Fried Rice, and the Drunken Noodles! And oh, the Thai Tea or Thai Ice Coffee is a must-try--hands down, one of the finest spots to savor these delightful beverages! Pricing, 4/5: Normal pricing for Thai food, but the lunch special is definitely a steal! Service, 4.5/5: They always check in on us often, which is appreciated! Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 4/5: It's a cozy restaurant, there's a decent amount of seating, but if you have a larger group make sure to call to make a reservation.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal! I am new to the DMV area and when my nail tech told me their entire staff goes here when they want Thai, I knew I had to check it out. The flavors are authentic and you can taste hints of the open flame they cook over in the food. The food came out relatively fast and everything was a 10/10. Will be going back! Photos are lousy but we were eating so fast I forgot to take some! Only downside is the parking, it's off a pretty busy road. We got lucky with a meter spot out front but I guess there's a bank nearby with a lot you can park in.

Alise G.

Yelp
This just maybe my new favorite Thai restaurant in the DMV. I came here based off a recommendation and I was impressed by the Yelp reviews. I ordered the green curry, Thai ice tea and the mango sticky rice for carry out. The green curry was delicious, it is served with white rice. The mangos were very sweet and soft. I will definitely come back.

Christine H.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Thai Square is one of the best Thai Restaurants I've ever been to. The food is tasty and delicious. All of the appetizers, entrees and desserts are so good. My two complaints: Parking sucks! And it's such a small dining room that it gets very crowded and stuffy.

Margret C.

Yelp
This place is our go to Thai spot for dine in and carry out! The food is always fresh, hot, and extra delicious. They also get the spice level right every time! However, I don't recommend asking for things Thai spice unless you can handle some spice. They take that seriously and will serve you up some spicy food. But the best thing is, the spice still doesn't overpower the flavor of the dish! The last time we dined in, we got the Num Tok, Pad Prick Kraprao, and the Pad Kee Mao. The Num Tok had the freshest lettuce I think i've ever eaten. It was so crunchy and firm, which balance the spice level very well. Also the Pad Kee Mao was served with the same lettuce, which really added some nice texture to the dish and helped balance the spice. The service is good and the people who work there are also very nice. Their take out quality is also very similar to the dine in quality! Def give this place a try for dine in or take out!

Kaitlyn H.

Yelp
Food was good - vegetable soup was great but didn't like the spring roll. Service was fine and the food didn't take long to come out. Small dining area and had a bad smell when walking in.

Aya T.

Yelp
I came here years ago before and revisited a few weeks ago. They made a big transformation inside. It used to have a simple hole in the wall type restaurant. Now it has a cute cafe atmosphere. The food is Leah's good. I ordered my go-to Thai dish - Kra Pao. It was a bit too spicy for my taste. I never have to ask to reduce the heat for Kra Pao but I guess I need to at this restaurant. All my friends enjoyed their dishes but some who dont like hot food had to make sure that the spice was adjusted/reduced. It was Friday evening and there was a line to wait for the table after 7:30pm.

Michelle C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the DMV area. I hadn't been back since the pandemic until a couple of weeks ago. The chive dumpling appetizer is so addictive. The drunken noodles and boat noodle soup are still both solid choices. Looking forward to coming back and supporting this great local business!

Gabby O.

Yelp
My family and I have always loved Thai Square since it opened up. Food is spectacular and service is phenomenal. Our go to meals are salted fish fried rice, crispy duck, crispy squid, and kway teow kua gai. Tip for reservations: Call Thai Square the day before to confirm your booking. For my mom's birthday this year, they had forgotten we had reservations so I was disappointed we weren't able to sit next to each other. I highly recommend calling them ahead of time to remind them. I hope they do get better with advanced reservations, but other than that, food is always amazing.

Kevin N.

Yelp
Delicious spot to get authentic Thai food. They have all your classic noodles and curry along with authentic Thai cuisine. I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and trying some amazing new dishes. They all pack a great flavor punch, and are worth trying. OD MUN PLA (FISH CAKES) - I didn't realize this was a traditional dish but it was so delicious. The sweet chili sauce was perfect with it. FRIED CHIVE DUMPLINGS - Winning dish of the night for me! The dumplings are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The spicy soy sauce was so good with it too! PAD KEE MAO (DRUNKEN NOODLE) - Tasty dish I would normally order, but compared to everything else it wasn't as good. CRISPY HONEY ROASTED DUCK WITH BASIL- So crispy and delicious. It was the winning dish of the night for great flavor and crispy texture. FLOATING MARKET NOODLE SOUP - We got it spicy and it was so good! I couldn't stop sipping on the beef broth. The wide noodles were great with it.

Yelp
My new favorite Thai restaurant in the DC area. I had been here once before a couple of years ago, and while I remember it being good I didn't think about coming back given my other Thai restaurant choices in the area. However, during a recent conversation to one of my Thai friends who lives in the area, he insisted that Thai Square is probably the best an most importantly most authentic of the Thai restaurants in greater in Washington, D.C. My partner and I came on a Friday night, and while it was busy we were able to get a seat. The menu is extensive and we ordered our perennial favorites: somtum Thai (papaya salad), Crab Fried Rice, and Crispy Pork Belly with Chinese Broccoli. I was also craving a Thai sausage so we ordered a Northern Style Thai sausage (sharing the sausage and the papaya salad). The somtum was prepared perfectly with just enough spice in the sauce, my husband loved the flavors so much that he kept the plate it was on and used the sauce/dressing to flavor his fried rice. The Thai sausage was outstanding - beautifully crafted sausage with an amazing blend of herbs and spices, and frankly it tasted just like Thailand with a sids of shredded ginger, peanuts, and chilis. Service was prompt, courteous, and very caring - our server returned several times to ask if we need anything and to makes sure we were enjoying our food. My partner's crab fried rice, was per him the best he has had in the area (he fancy's himself a bit of fried rice connoisseur) - and I can say the chunks of crab were definitely larger and more generous than I have seen anywhere since Thailand. And finally, one of my favorite Thai dishes Kana Moo Grob or Crispy Pork Belly with Chinese Broccoli was as good as most places in Bangkok - the vegetables and meat were sautéed just as they should be, and the broccoli and the pork belly were crispy and savory, with just the right proportion of fat on the meat. Thai square is definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant in the Washington D.C. area. If you love Thai food, or if you know good Thai then you will definitely approve of Thai square. 5/5!

Billy V.

Yelp
Mango coconut rice is fire! A must get if you eat here or not. It's refreshing and flavorful. We got drunken noodles and tom yom as well for entrees. The drunken noodles were filling and good, nothing to complain or struck me. However the tom yum said on the menu that it could feed 2-4 people. It definitely cannot, it can feed 1 if not 2 people MAX. Not to mention it was VERY expensive (the tom yum). I dont think I'll be going back. Just trying out all the restaurants around the block. Will be back for dessert only if anything

Carmen E.

Yelp
Pho is delicious and nice srevers. food order online and was ready when I got there. polite host

Hunter B.

Yelp
I tried ordering online but the website was having problems so I called in. There was also no real place to park so I had to round the place to find a parking space to run in. When I walked in it was empty and that was probably a sign of how the place was. The chicken pad Thai was not that great and the chicken itself was tough and dry. There is no reason to go back to this place since just up the road there is a great thai place for less money.

Julie H.

Yelp
Thai Square came is a small little restaurant in Columbia Pike. Service was quick, staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. I wanted to try something different than the usual pad thai and drunken noodles so opted for the catfish. If you like spicy, this dish will hit the spot! It reminds me of a similar dish my mom would make but without the sauce. I'd say it's an authentic Asian dish if you're looking to try something new.

J B.

Yelp
I got drunken noodles with seafood for takeout. The dish was mushy and seemed like leftovers. I picked it up later in the day, so not sure if they were trying to get rid Of food that was already cooked. There wasn't anyone in the reataraunt.

Joshua C.

Yelp
My go to Thai food when I'm in Nova. Probably the best Thai food in this area. Really wish we had Thai food as good as this in Austin. We had the signature crispy squid, Tom yum soup and Nua Pad Khing Sod. Just be warned that they could make it very spicy. We had Thai hot and had to pay for it later. But I was sooooo good. The waitress was attentive and the space was nostalgic to me. Definitely recommend others to explore other dishes other than the typical pad Thai or green curry.

Patrick S.

Yelp
An interesting experience. I did a to-go order for 2 orders of pad thai. I heard the reviews were good so i decided to give it a try. Long story short I was disappointed. For such a highly rated place, I was left unsatisfied by the taste. It felt heavy and unbalanced. I had perhaps a few piece's of meat and the rest must have been noodles and sauce. I stopped halfway eating becuase it felt heavier than i thought, and I was looking to eat the rest any time soon. Granted this was a togo experience. When picking up, the dining room look amazing and authentic. A great feel to sit down and eat, and the staff was really nice aswell! I am going to give this place a second chance and have a sit down. Looking forward to my next experience.

Yelp
Staff very pleasant. I had three appetizers (fried Rangoon , buns, rolls) and all were delicious.

Jenny T.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place and I am so happy she did. The Thai food here is absolutely delicious! I live over an hour away and have traveled here multiple times for an authentic, delicious & reasonably priced meal. The crispy squid was amaaaazing! The sweet & crunchy flavors made this dish even after it traveled an hour away for take-out. The pad Thai is always perfect as well. I would definitely recommend Thai Square.

Yelp
Came here for the lunch special and it was okay overall. The Thai Tea was in a cute cup and yummy. The beef salad (Yum Nua) with the sauce was a great combo. Sauce had a nice kick. For the lunch special, you can choose 1 soup, 1 appetizer, and 1 entree in the lunch special menu. They were on the sweeter side and not as flavorful. The Pad Thai's noodle was also a little undercooked. But I think it's okay for the price. Service was nice.

Yelp
It is the BEST thai food I've had in North America. The service is excellent. Inside it is very cute and small. Please stop by and also give them a good rating! I recommend the thai tea but be aware it is a bit sweet and the crab meat fried rice. All the waiters are super nice.

Yelp
Updating my review since it's been a long time. Stopped in recently and it's as good as I remember, with some new dishes as well. Favorite dish easily is the crispy catfish salad, so fresh and delicious. The nam khao was also very good served as a salad here vs lettuce wraps. Then the crispy honey duck and Panang were also tasty, although the duck has a ton of batter vs meat. The thai teas were nice, and the least favorite dish / wouldn't order again was the pad thai and the nun tok - not my favorite version of either.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The workers are super friendly and the food is authentic. Their red curry chicken is the best! There isn't a ton of space, and it is quite cozy but the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it.

Yelp
I dined at Thai Square on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 6:30 pm. Thai Square is one of the best authentic Thai restaurants in the northern Virginia area. I've been a regular at Thai Square for several years now and their standards for food quality and service have remained consistently high even after the transition to the new owner and during COVID pandemic. Despite them being a little pricey, I think the authenticity and quality of the food are very appreciable. After the new renovations, Thai Square's small dining area no longer feels as cramped as before. The interior design was simple, yet thoughtful with Thai accents that doesn't make the small dining area look too busy. I appreciated how clean the restaurant looked as well, given the COVID pandemic. One of my favorite appetizers is the Hae Kuen, which were crispy and nicely seasoned. Both the yum woon sen and the larb gai salads make good salads to supplement the entrees. The best entree was the crispy squid with basil, which is probably Thai Square's most famous dish. I swear, no other Thai restaurants have this dish on their menus nor could they nail it as well as Thai Square. This crispy squid is spicy, sweet, salty - they really are explosions of flavors on the palate. The drunken noodle was also really flavorful and it's my favorite noodle dish. Although, the noodles could use some more charring from the hot wok - for the true authentic pad Kee mao. However, I appreciated that they still used the thick, wide noodles, as they should! The red curry was pretty unexciting since I felt like it lacked the same level of seasoning as the other dishes. Service was great and attentive. Overall, based on the good-tasting food and exceptional service, I will continue being a regular at Thai Square for years to come!

Yelp
They have all the staples like pad Thai and massaman curry, but also a few things you don't see everywhere, like nom yen (pink milk). The food was delicious. They are in an inconspicuous location but we'll worth it, and we'll priced. Will return for sure.

Yelp
Wow, where do I start? This restaurants food tastes amazing and the reviews are spot on with how delicious it tastes. I ordered delivery and my food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was steamy hot. First up were the steamed dumplings - the biggest disappointment of this entire meal - that's not to say they aren't good, but anything steamed and delivered don't typically mix well. Unfortunately he outside layer of the dumpling came out soggy. Next up, I ordered beef Kraprao spicy - the online ordering app only gives four options for spice level. Typically Thai restaurants offer a "Thai spicy" but that wasn't the case here. Regardless I ordered "spicy" - the dish was spicy just not as spicy as I'd hoped. Next time I'll make a note on my order asking for them to kick it up. Regardless, the taste was spot on, the sauce authentic tasting, spicy, and the peppers were good. The dish came with a small amount of basil which is a bummer because that's what I love about this dish, the sweet and spicy taste. Tip for next time is to order and make a note asking for more basil and thai spicy. Next, I got the chicken Pad See Ew - this dish, by far, is one of the best tasting Pad See Ews I've ever had. The chicken, it almost tastes as if it was cooked over a grill. The edges have a delicious charred taste and the noodles too. The noodles are mixed with kale- that's a first for me but the mixture goes really well together. Coupled with the sauce it tastes amazing. Last up, black bean with sticky rice and coconut. You wouldn't think by looking at this but, it's a sweet tasting dish that ends the night well. I'll definitely be ordering from here again and hopefully I'll be able to fix some of the mistakes I made and make this a 5 star updated review.

Yelp
Great pad see ew (pro tip: get this spicy!). FYI- Spicy pad see ew is different from drunken noodles. Crispy squid with basil is also excellent!

Yelp
I am Asian and I am picky with Asian food. My favorite Thai dish is drunken noodle. I have had drunken noodles at almost 10 restaurants in NOVA (1 in DC). This is my favorite place for drunken noodles. Other places I have tried: Thai Noy, Thai Curry, Lucky Thai, Thai Chef Street food (DuPont Circle), Paedak, Thai Thai, Mosaic District 3 sister (my second favorite) - all the ones I can recall at this time.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place because of how cozy everything looked when I entered the restaurant, but they failed me. I stayed around the area to celebrate new year's Eve with my fiancé so I was looking for something decent to eat near by. Not so far from where we stayed, I found this place with decent reviews. I trusted Arlington Yelpers but it was a huge disappointment. I ordered Penang Curry and my fiancé ordered a unique dish that we don't normally see around Fairfax area. First off, we waited 40 minutes to get my curry dish then they look additional 20 minutes for my fiancé's entree. It was quiet absurd because we were the first customer of their dinner service yet we were the last table to get the food. I certainly didn't appreciate how horrible it was. Food wasn't bad but it didn't wow me either.
