Was pleasantly surprised to find a Thai place at this food court at the Windmill in Carlsbad. The rolls with shrimp with peanut sauce was excellent I will definitely be back again sorry that the picture shows after I've already eaten a half of a roll😂

I’ve eaten a lot of Pad Thai. This one is just “meh”. It was quite salty and lackluster in flavor. The chicken was dry. If you’re craving Pad Thai, it gets the job done, but that’s about it. There’s a meme about not making Pad Thai at home because it’s cheaper and tastier to get it from a restaurant. In this case, I think it would have actually tasted better if I made it myself. I’ve given this place 3 stars because the service was friendly (enough), and the food was out quick. But I can’t say that I will be back.

The drunken noodles with pork belly is really good! And I like fresh roll with shrimp too it’s really good combo 🤤

We stopped by for dinner to wait out the traffic before heading back home to SD. Both the drunken noodles and Thai green tea tasted delicious and authentic! Very pleased to have this amazing Thai place in the food hall. Decent value for tasty Thai food. Also, shout out to the amazing cashier and cooks! Super friendly and professional. We will definitely come back to try their other dishes!

As a fan of Thai food for many years now, I have been hesitant to stop by Thai Style in Carlsbad. I was afraid of a "gentrified" inauthentic experience due to the location. Thankfully my worries were put to rest. I visited early in the afternoon on a Monday, not too much going on in the windmill food hall. I was greeted promptly and amicably by the employee working at the front desk named Pixel, and she helped answer all of my questions in a patient manner. She seemed to really care that I had a positive experience for my first visit. I ordered the "drunken noodle" and green tea w/boba. The food was ready in no time and had great flavor. I ordered a 6 on the spicy scale, which at most other Thai places would have me sweating, but here the food wasn't nearly as spicy. Will definitely go with 8 or 9 next time. To conclude, I think Thai style is a great introductory option for someone who is curious to try Thai food. Prices seem pretty average for a Thai restaurant. Expect to pay 20 bucks for a hearty meal.

Google
Not authentic or close Pad Thai - Chicken that looks and tastes like salty black soy sauce. NOT sweet, orange color, or tamarind flavor. Portion size was large. I told my wife let me try mine first then you can order one. She was hungry so she went ahead and ordered the second one. It was the same disappointment. The kids said it tasted weird. I’m not coming back. C’mon how can you mess up Pad Thai, I can do better at home. Hopefully the owner gets their sauces right for the sake of future customers.

Google
The food at this cute little Thai spot is amazingly delicious! The service is always friendly and quick, and the portions are huge! I love the yellow curry without chicken, add extra potatoes and carrots and wide noodles instead of rice. The tofu Pad Thai without egg and traditional style with no spice is scrumptious. I add extra scallions and peanuts. Don't forget to get a Thai iced coffee. I understand there is a new 2nd location in Oside.

Google
A few months later, we're back in town and had to get the pad kee mao again, this time we also ordered pad thai and pad see ew - they were all good but the drunken noodles are still my fav. . . . Saw a picture of the drunken noodle from another reviewer and I just had to try. It definitely did not disappoint! Wow smell and taste amazing! A tad on spicy side which I love, wish the portion was bigger!

Yelp
I ordered krapaw with pork belly and it is amazing. The busiest food vendor which I understand the waiting time of the food. Service is good with a lot of demand to fulfill customer satisfaction. Ambience is crowded and busy for weekend. They also start have chicken satay will be on the menu.

Yelp
12/22/24 Not bad, for being a #FoodStall. Especially like their spicy noodles which were perfectly cooked, whole, and just the right amount of spicy. The curry is also super flavorful and creamy too. 4/5 #carlsbad #sandiego #legoland2024

Yelp
I ordered drunken noodles and it had the potential to be very good with fresh ingredients and quality chicken, but there were burned portions of egg and meat all through the dish making every few bites a bitter challenge to swallow. When I say burned, I mean charred bits of black food mixed all through. I also noticed the sauce portion was unevenly mixed through, with some noodles more bland, and others having the signature drunken noodle flavor. I should have returned it, but we had all ordered from different vendors and mine was the last to come so I didn't feel like I had the time to get the dish re-made.

Yelp
This Thai spot is located inside the windmill food hall, we came after a long day at Legoland. I'm very particular with my noodles but we thought we'd give it a go. Just by reading recent reviews, even from 9 months ago, I have a feeling that same cashier with the sour attitude still works there. We were greeted by a woman at the cashier with such poor customer service. She didn't take our order correctly when I told her she made my pad see ew noodles spicy when I asked her not to since it was for my kids she just looked at me like I was the fool. They did give me a new order but it just took forever to come out. You either hate your job or hate people, whichever it is, Thai style it's time for a change because it doesn't matter how good your food is, if you feel disrespected when you order your food you'll loose customers. Now on to the noodles, I appreciated the generous portions and overflow of veggies, not too oily and a good combo of salty/sweet. There is plenty of seating as it's in a huge food hall, and the bathrooms are clean too. Parking wasn't a problem, but we came in right before peak time dinner, so you can imagine how busy it can get on weekends.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS SPOT!! Been twice so far. I have gotten their basil eggplant (added chicken and tofu) and it's so delicious!!! Not too sweet, perfect amount of equal ingredients, price is good (think it is $16 something) and with the yummy jasmine rice, two meals easily! They were fast, parking is easy, comfortable place to wait (wasn't long). My go-to Thai take out meal.

Yelp
It was our first time here and the food was wonderful. The pad see ew was flavorful and plentiful and came out piping hot. There was a variety of vegetables and I added the chicken which was sliced thinly and very tender. The ingredients are quality and staff was super nice. I love the atmosphere of the food hall. I'll look forward to coming back and trying other items.

Yelp
I like this place for options for food. This is my second time coming here. Service is generally quick. Food is ready within 15 minutes. Ambiance is fun and causal. But the food is not great at this Thai spot. I got pad Thai this time and last time I got pad see ew. The pad Thai this time was super sweet. Way too sweet! Also, the noodles were chewy. I had to bite them apart. The chicken was decent and the portion was also. Sadly, that's the only good thing I can say about it here. The pad see ew also had chewy noodles last time and I was so perplexed by this. I'll be back to the wind mill but not sure I'll come back to Thai style.

Yelp
Thai Style is a good option at the food court. I really like their drunken noodles, especially with the pork belly, and sometimes I'll add the fried egg too! Their service is fast and friendly, and portion size is decent. I come back regularly, and although I've tried a couple other items, this has become my go to.

Yelp
This is $17 and generous portion. Has a lot of pork belly that is crispy. Flavor was good and asked for mild or a 5 so it was just right. If you are craving for Thai food and rice, this hits the spot. They give you a pager and let you know when food is ready. Fast friendly service. Served in a nice disposable container that can also be sealed with a lid. Plenty of parking .
google avatar

Yelp
LOVEEEED it. So good. Go here for all your Thai cravings! Service was quick - it is located inside Windmill Food Hall so immediate sitting isn't guaranteed but so worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
A late night drive we stopped for a bite to eat. This location is inside the Windmill Food Hall. I ordered the pork belly pad see ew and it was delicious! If I could change it I would add a little bit more noodles but it was great and flavorful. The lady that took my order was very nice and professional. The hall altogether was clean and orderly. Give me a try if you're in the area or take a drive out.
google avatar

Jozel R.

Yelp
Ordered drunken noodles, pork belly pad thai, yellow chicken curry with rice. The service was nice and fairly quick the portions were generous, however the rice to curry ration was off, there was about one cup of rice definitely not enough for the larger portion of curry given. I thought the flavors on all dishes were okay but overwhelming so salty. The chicken on the yellow curry was tender the meat was falling off the bone. The pad Thai was sweet but mostly salty as I mentioned.
google avatar

Yelp
I wasn't expecting that much from a food court this place with such an unassuming front, but it was very delicious and came out quickly. I really like the windmill food court layout, lots of space and cool decorations but none of that is unique to the Thai place in particular. The drunken noodles were the correct ratio of moist and flavorful and protein was tender. The vegetables were a little big for plastic forks but it was ok.

Yelp
Located inside Windmill Food Hall, this spot is pretty great. They have their standard menu, but also offer various specials. One issue with the specials is that they seem to list them on a large flat-screen that rotates the variety of featured options - this means that the cashier and I both waited a good minute before the one I wanted came back on the screen. It didn't help that the menu item was only named in Thai, so I couldn't remember what it was called in the brief moment I saw it earlier. The wait time was a bit long for our food, I think we waited nearly twenty minutes before our little buzzer went off. All that said, the food is pretty darn good. They have a nice peppery kick and a very umami char. The two items we ordered were delicious - my husband and I had just come from Legoland and had a late pizza/pasta buffet lunch so we swore we weren't hungry and claimed we'd both just pick at our food and save most of it for later, but ended up finishing it all because of how yummy it was. One note - the white rice was oddly undercooked and unpalatable. So that was a bummer. All else was great.

Yelp
There's a lot of parking available, which makes getting food here painless. The vibe here is chill and the food was ready relatively quickly, about 5-7 minutes. We got the spicy fried rice with chicken. The cashier said it would be a level one but wow it was a bit more than that. It was a pretty solid dish, it definitely was super flavorful and the portion was generous. I wanted to get other food too but they didn't offer non-fried tofu for yellow curry, which was a bummer since I love yellow curry.

Yelp
Nice wok-fired flavor on the pad see ew! Food came out quick and portion size is good! The food was steaming hot when I picked it up and the flavors are well balanced! It was a nice surprise to have such great tasting thai food in a food hall! Workers are friendly and there is plenty of seating for our large group.
google avatar

Yelp
I've come here a couple times and it never disappoints! Both times I've come here, I ordered the Thai fried rice with shrimp. It's one of my favorite fried rice dishes I've ever had! The order comes out super hot! The flavor of garlic just made it perfect! For a drink, the Thai tea was calling my name. First off, it comes in a pretty large cup. It could definitely be enough to share! It was delicious and super creamy. This might be my favorite place at Windmill Food Hall!

Yelp
Stopped by this food court as we were attending a wedding near by. Not a large selection of food items, buuuuut what they do have is delicious! I believe it was the owner who was working when I arrived and she was awesome. Very helpful on recommendations and super polite. We ordered fresh rolls and pad thai. Pad thai was phenomenal and I tasted every ingredient they used. The fresh rolls were just as the name describes....very fresh and the peanut sauce was tasty. Also check out their thai coffee! Guaranteed to wake you up and super smooth. The ambiance of the food court is super laid back and chill. Come with a group of friends and check this place out!

Yelp
If you've been to a "food hall" outside of the US -- or even one of the many in the Asian neighborhoods hereabouts -- you're probably entering this Windmill place with expectations set way too high, in terms of food quality, price, and speed of service. The drunken noodles with chicken were OK, although for about $16, one could find much better ones in a real sit-down restaurant, where said noodles would not be served in a flimsy paper container with a plastic fork. One could also become quite drunken for about $16 if one were so inclined, but that's another story. Also, in the 20 minutes that one was waiting for one dish of food hall Thai to be prepared, one could become quite drunken as well, but I didn't visit the bar there.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
The cashier was a straight b*tch! Asked for pork belly w/egg and her response with a BS attitude "we don't have that". As soon as she said that a picture of it popped up on their screen. After that, I said never mind. I later heard her telling another customer with the same attitude "it's not done yet!" Fix your attitude lady!

Yelp
METAL SCRUBBER FOUND IN FOOD Food was average, standard Thai, not spectacular, not terrible. Light on the protein. I got a Pad Se Ew to share with my 3 year old daughter and unfortunately our noodle dish included a metal shard from something? Looks like a metal scrub pad? Good thing I found it, can you imagine what would happen if it was ingested?
google avatar

Bonnie D.

Yelp
Took the opportunity to try multiple restaurants at this food hall and Thai Style caught my eye with the Thai green tea. I also tried the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was okay, the noodles are more on the al dente side which I don't prefer. The Thai green tea was a little too sweet for my liking.
google avatar

Abby W.

Yelp
Picking a place to eat at the Windmill was a challenge because everything looked amazing but I ultimately decided to go with Thai. I ordered my usual pad see ew with chicken and a Thai iced tea and both were delicious! The pad see ew was full of flavor and just the way I like it. The only slight issue I had was trying to pick up my Thai iced tea as I was told that I had ordered a Thai coffee, which is definitely not the case because I hate coffee and would never order it. After a short standoff, I eventually got my tea and took my meal to one of the tables that are shared by the food court.

Yelp
First time at the windmill food hall, again the experience of the actual food hall was awesome and wood recommended but for some reason both places didn't deliver like I'm sure they can and usually do. Appetizer, coconut shrimp was awesome. Super tasty, hot, and tasted fresh, I recommend it. I ordered the pad see ew with beef, beef was great and there was a lot of it, however about half of the noodles were overcooked. This wasn't a subjective overcooked, parts of them were just black and tasted like charcoal and tasted like old oil was used. My wife ordered pad Thai and it she said it seemed fine. Overall today, Thai style had some great qualities and some where they may need to focus on a bit more.
google avatar

Carmen L.

Yelp
Ordered a shrimp and a chicken pad see maw and it's tasty and came fast. It's very flavorful and you can choose the spicy levels. They were also very generous on the shrimps; 6-7 big shrimps in my noodles. Quick tips: they are pretty spicy! I usually love spicy and picked level 6...still manageable to me, but I would definitely scale back if I could.
google avatar

Yelp
We order a pad Thai with chicken, tom kha and pineapple / Hawaiian fried rice. The tom kha was very good. Flavor was amazing just ask for a little bit of lime on the side. Pad Thai was also yummy. The fried rice was a little Heavy on the soy sauce. Great service and we got to there pretty late on a Tuesday so it was very quite which I appreciated after a long day at Legoland.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
Service was very kind and friendly. Had the vegetable pad Thai. Was pretty good. I personally would've liked to have more vegetables in it.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Thai Style is one of my new favorite spots at the Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad! I loved their Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice because it was packed with flavor and the chicken was cooked well. The Pad Kee Mao was also delicious. I'm looking forward to trying their Pad Thai and Yellow Curry next time! Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: reasonable * Wait Time: minimal on a Saturday for lunch * Service: good * Parking: there's a parking lot * Ambiance: it's in the beautiful and modern food hall

Yelp
Decided on this spot after looking at some menus of places at the Windmill Food Hall. There are a lot of amazing options, however I had recently had Drunken Noodles, so these were fresh on my mind. There were two ladies at the front when we got there. They were friendly and eager to answer any questions we had. We notified them that my partner is allergic to peanuts, which they acknowledged. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle - "Flat rice noodles, egg, bell, Chinese broccoli, basil, fresh chili, garlic, house soy" +chicken - $13), and a Thai Iced Tea (16oz - $4, 24oz - $5). We were debating on which protein to go with, so asked for a recommendation. They suggested chicken, which actually surprised me! Needless to say, we went with their suggestion and were NOT disappointed. She also warned us that the noodles have a little heat, and wanted to make sure we were good with spicy. The noodles were incredibly flavorful, and she was not lying about the spice... they definitely had a kick! Everything was perfectly cooked and the dish overall was great! Doing some quick math, I realized that the value you get by adding an extra 8oz of Thai Tea for only $1 more, makes it a no-brainer. The iced tea was tasty and refreshing! It paired very well with the noodles and helped balance out the spice. Overall I highly recommend checking out Thai Style if you're going to the Windmill Food Hall, or are in the area. The Food Hall is an awesome place to check out, and this spot is worth trying. Thanks again for the delicious meal and wonderful experience! Instagram: @bbnem.food

Yelp
I got to try a special item, called seafood hotpot. It is very tasty, a little spicy. It's full of seafood like salmon, mussels, fish balls, served with rice. The portion is pretty big. You can share for two people. I really recommended. It's for a limited time only.
google avatar

Yelp
After a long day at Legoland with my family, all I wanted to do was have a nice hot meal that outshined the theme park food we had been eating all day. Thai style did not disappoint! I ordered the fried rice, pad thai, along with the fresh spring rolls. Everything was so delicious! Generous portions and the flavors reflected quality ingredients and a refreshing zing to my taste buds. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and so did my son who finished all of his fried rice. If we lived closer, we would frequent this place. So so good!
google avatar

Karin M.

Yelp
Don't order soup from here. Broken during the way home. All soup spilled on my car. :(
google avatar

Kevin T.

Yelp
Got drunken noodles with pork belly. It is amazing. The pork belly was in the style of Chinese roasted pork so every bite had that signature crunch. The drunken noodle is on point. I was a bit skeptical about this place because it is in a food hall and they're usually mid. This was not and will repeat coming back

Olivia S.

Yelp
Food is very average. Additionally, menu lists a "green tea" so I thought I would get a standard green tea. Was served a matcha latte... that tastes kind of like a pez candy... tastes weird.

Leo H.

Yelp
It's my first time come to Thai Style inside Windmill Food Hall. First at all, I really recommend Drunken Noodles. It's the best and they just open another location in Oceanside recently. Service is amazing but a little noisy since there's so many kids after visiting Legoland. I think the price is reasonable and generous portion. I'll come back again for sure or visit Oceanside location.
google avatar

Amara A.

Yelp
We placed an order through Yelp and our order was ready about 20 minutes before the listed time, which was great! The pad see-ew we ordered was really yummy; there were a lot of vegetables and chicken, and it was a little small for $14 but still good. I wish there were more noodles though. The thai tea was only alright, it was comparable to GongCha quality thai tea and I'd only get it again if I were really craving some. Would come back though.
google avatar

Gelin Cara T.

Yelp
This place is....okay. Customer service was really great and the process or ordering and getting a buzzer for your food was good too. But the food...it was lackluster. I got shrimp Pad See Ew and it was just lackluster. Texture was off for the noodles and the sauce was too salty (when Pad See Ew has a somewhat sweetness to it). It honestly tasted like gentrified Thai food for beginners. Location is a nice food hall and there are other options that seemed okay as well. You have to take into consideration the demographic, Carlsbad.

Red P.

Yelp
Ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice with 6 as being the spice level out of 10. I have to say this Thai fried rice is a must try. I haven't had Thai Basil Fried Rice like this in years. Truly recommend it.
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
I have given this place a chance on 3 different occasions but it was bad every single time. I hate to say it but it's honestly the worst Thai food I have ever had in the San Diego area. I wouldn't recommend it!

Em S.

Yelp
We have been enjoying Thai Style as our favorite Thai food restaurant since they opened in the Windmil! The dishes are authentic, consistent, and flavorful. The staff is always helpful and kind. We love the fun and robust atmosphere.

Vicky T.

Yelp
Pad sẽ ew was very good. Flavorful. Lots of meat and veggies but not alot of noodles. Slightly disappointed how my drink came mostly ice. Like 75% of the cup was ice for a $6
google avatar

Yelp
There are a ton of great options at Windmill Food Hall, but you MUST stop by Thai Style if this is your first time! They are located in the main area of the Food Hall, and their menu is posted clearly. There were two women up front when we walked up and they were very friendly! I let them know about my peanut allergy which they acknowledged. They were helpful as we navigated the menu and asked for recommendations. We ordered: * Thai Iced Tea (24oz, $5): super refreshing and creamy! I liked that it wasn't overly sweet; I wish I had grabbed another to go. Get the larger one which is a great value! * Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), + Chicken ($13): I've had a lot of great Thai food, and this is easily top 3! The noodles are perfectly cooked, the sauce is flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. We went with chicken as our protein since that's what they recommended; it was very juicy and delicious! I'm looking for a reason to go back to Carlsbad JUST to stop at Thai Style and Windmill Food Hall. Definitely come by for some great eats when you're in the area! Instagram: @waitingtoeat

Yelp
Looking for Thai Food in North County/Carlsbad area, check out Thai Style inside the Windmill Food Hall! They had all my favorites like Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice & of course Thai Tea boba . The staff is kind & they even gave me tips on how to enjoy the fried rice in different ways with different combinations. It was a delicious meal & I will definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu! Quick note, be careful with ordering your spice level, Thai spice levels can be a lot than expected. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow! their drunken noodles is amazing! so much fire and "wok hey" as cantonese people would put it. you can totally taste that wok's breath in the dish. the dish was so flavorful and was the perfect amount of spice level for me. portion was good enough for one person. i also ordered their thai tea boba. Thai tea was good. the boba was not - it was not chewy, it was hard. after the spicy noodles, the thai tea was a good finish for me (to cool off that heat).

Yelp
Solid 4 stars. Very impressive for a stall at a food court. It's small and li staff inside of the Mill Food Court. Called in order for dinner. Pad see ew (chicken), pad kra-pow (grounds chicken & pork belly) and Tom yum (chicken). Portion was surprisingly big but they did not skins on the quality or protein. No complaint. It was all good for a fast food Thai place. Please know they do not play with spicy level so thread lightly lol

Diego M.

Yelp
You will not find a better Tom Kha in all of San Diego. If you do please message me. But this Tom Kha is luxury. They have the highest quality ingredients above any Thai restaurant in the area. Bravo
google avatar

Arnold W.

Yelp
Pretty decent Thai food. It's authentic too. I had the pad Thai. It was loads of flavor. A little too robust in flavor. It tasted good. But I wouldn't be able to finish the entire dish by myself. Perhaps, I need a side of white rice or a tall glass of water.

Yelp
Thai soup was poorly bag and turned out to be a bag of soup rather than a bowl of soup. When informed our Thai tea was not received, they young female call taker was rude denied it not being delivered. I went back to the restaurant to see our Thai teas sitting on the counter. It sometimes only take one bad experience to lose customers for a lifetime.
