What a local gem! Love this mom and pop place. Authentic no frills. Extremely fresh ingredients and very good prices, almost criminally low prices compared to other places. The shrimp spring roll is so refreshing and and the rice wrapper wrap has the most chewiness and texture I’ve ever had. The fried egg rolls are a must get. It’s surprisingly light and not greasy at all but the filling is very well seasoned and the wrap itself so crunchy and delicious. We of course had to get the pho. The broth is absolutely phenomenal. It is truly a delicacy and made with all the traditional herbs and spices. The beef round eye slices are so juicy and tender. The three color dessert is so yummy. The coconut milk with the mung bean and jellies are so refreshing and satisfying. Highly recommend this place to all!

First time eating here and will definitely comeback. The taste good and the pho tasted authentic. And the price is decent for the portions.

Google
Small little vietnamese spot on West Side with tasty Pho and delicious egg rolls which I would definitely recommend and use the red hot chili sauce to dip the egg rolls in. Will definitely be back to try out the other items in the menu.

Google
A true hidden gem in Jersey city. This place is so healing with delicious dishes such as seafood noodle soup and grilled pork chop with fried rice (pictured). My wife & I dine here at least 4x per month! I recently tried the Vietnamese iced coffee and woah! Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.

Google
I had been recommended this place as an authentic and delicious Vietnamese food experience. And that’s exactly what I got. It’s family owned and the interior is homey. The Bahn Mi Ga was especially delicious. It featured very fresh ingredients, the ciabatta was toasted perfectly, and the sauce was so flavorful.

Google
This place was great! I liked everything I ordered and definitely down to come back to try more stuff! This brisket in our Pho was amazing, melted right in my mouth. Plus service was great!! Parking was accessible both on street and in a parking lot (there was old man asking for $2, not sure if it’s a parking fee or tip).

Google
The food was amazing, I come here regularly. Great service!

Google
Glad I decided to stop by here for lunch after a busy morning of shopping at the nearby Home Depot. I’m from New York but will be definitely be in Hudson county more now since investing in the area. My hubby got the pho special combo, while I got the grilled pork chop on rice, an app of small spring rolls (5 pieces) and an iced coffee with condense milk. Everything exceeded our expectations because quite honestly the atmosphere was just alright (dated looking) so we didn’t expect everything to hit like that! We can’t wait to come back !

Yelp
Visited here the other day for some pho with a grilled pork chop and it was super tasty! It was a lot of food too, lasted me lunch and dinner. The staff was pleasant as always, they do come by almost as soon as you sit down to ask if you're ready to order which always cracks me up. They don't mean to rush you I think they just assume people already know what they want. But anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my soup and the amount of pork given. I definitely recommend asking for the hot chili oil to add too if you like it spicy.

Yelp
The place itself if like a mishmash hole in the wall type place with a convenience store vibe and a bakery display case lol produce table in the back??? So you know the food is good. Got spring rolls, tendon pho, my friend got the fish pho (that they don't make with beef broth) and a mango smoothie. Everything was great. Good came out really fast. They had a high chair for my kid and gave her all her own stuff too. I get the feeling it's either family run or like.. run through someone's family. For the amount of food you get for the price is the best. You don't need to spend $100 to leave a place feeling full from a good meal.

Yelp
Authentic spot, good service. However, i had the chicken pho. i was not impressed. the chicken broth was lacking flavor and wasnt anything special. for protein i had the seafood. it came with only 2 shrimp, a bunch of fish balls (this is kinda lazy) and fake crab meat (what a let down!). id come back because my friend likes hers, i liked the staff, and the menu seemed pretty authentic. i did grab a mango smoothie which i liked a lot.

Yelp
Best viet food in north jersey I've had so far! Authentic flavors and fast service. Parking is a bit hard, but the food will be worth it. I tried the bun bo hue and durian shake - both were great! I was surprised how the durian shake tasted like durian (not just superficial in flavor). Will come back again!
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
It's not the besttt but it's rare to find viet food so this is our local go to. I wish they'd serve more of their proteins. Desserts are definitely refreshing.

Yelp
We have been looking for a good pho place since our last one closed and this place just became our new go-to. We love their food so much. Our new found favorite is the bun bo hue. We usually get take out but decides to eat at the restaurant once. BEST DECISION EVER! First of the interiors are out dated but it is clean so points for that. Second the amount of soup you get at the place is a lot more than when you take out. Third it is so much easier since we dont have to clean up afterwards. Would recommend to anyone eating in the area craving pho
google avatar

Eunice K.

Yelp
Pho was good- flavorful and came out hot. They don't have a spicy broth option. Only option is to add sriracha Grilled pork was also good. Prob one of my fav viet dishes Banh mi was not as good. I really like banh mi and the fresh veggies and sauce but this didn't really have any veggies and the meat wasn't as good Parking is street parking Service is okay. Seems like there are a lot of regulars

Yelp
Nobody Better Than Thanh Huong. Very pleased to finally try Thanh Huong, a long standing Vietnamese restaurant in Jersey City. The service was delightful, from calling to place my order to picking up the food. Service with a smile will get me back in the door. This was a take out order and everything was in the bag with more than enough sauces, chop sticks, utensils and napkins. All was packaged properly and still warm when unpacked to eat. We ordered our usual grilled chicken over white rice with the spring roll appetizers. The chicken was cooked and charred perfectly while still being tender. The white rice was fluffy and fresh. The tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce wraps and carrots etc were fresh and crisp. The spring rolls were so flavorful and plump with a nice toasty skin. The pricing was very reasonable with the same menu since prepandemic. They did not use the pandemic to gouge their menu as others did. Thanh Huong is my new favorite spring roll spot in Jersey City.

Yelp
We went here for dinner before heading to EWR airport. The restaurant was not busy and there was plenty of seats. Most of the customers came in and ordered to go. We ordered Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (Rice Vermicelli w. Grilled Pork & Spring Roll & Vegetable), Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Noodle Soup w. Beef & Pork), Hu Tieu Nam Vang (Clear Noodle Soup w. Quail Egg, Shrimp, Squid, Liver & Pork), Muc Rang Muoi (Crispy Squid), Spring Rolls. Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (Rice Vermicelli w. Grilled Pork & Spring Roll & Vegetable): 5/5 it was good and authentic. It tastes similar to what I had in Vietnam. Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Noodle Soup w. Beef & Pork) 4/5: it is hard to find good Bun bo Hue in America. And we think that Bun Bo Hue was pretty good. The broth was delicious and authentic. We recommend to try this out. Hu Tieu Nam Vang (Clear Noodle Soup w. Quail Egg, Shrimp, Squid, Liver & Pork): 3/5 the ingredients were all good, but the dish didn't have the taste and smell of Hu Tieu Nam Vang. It's kind of disappointment. So, not recommend Spring Rolls: 5/5 in Vietnam, the sauce will determine if the spring rolls are good. And Thanh Huong's sauce was amazingly delicious. The shrimps was fresh. Crispy Squid: 3/5 It was okay. The staff was very friendly. The services were fast. The ambience is like a family-own cozy restaurant.

Yelp
Very friendly service. They treat you lien you visiting their home. The place is not fancy. Decent tables for a good meal. The food hit the spot. It came out quick. They have the original Siracha also.

Joe A.

Yelp
Really good Vietnamese restaurant. Pho is very consistent and have zero complaints about the tendon or beef options they serve. All very good. Fried Squid is good. I've also had the shrimp lemongrass with rice and it is very good. Just wish they gave more seafood on seafood dishes
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
The staff here are friendly! Saw the review about it being very good pho. Came here and got two orders of the pho. It was very light and bland. The spring rolls the meat inside did not have any seasoning and the skin of it seem a little on the soggy side. The Thai iced tea tasted like diabetes in a cup it was sooo sweet. The fresh lemonade was also on the sweet side I had to add in a few limes myself. Was looking forward to trying here. But left very unsatisfied. Will try to come back and try other things. Maybe they had a bad day.

Yelp
Beautiful little restaurant. The pho is delicious, the service friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere joyful and relaxing. I get the #6 with brisket, tendon and tripe.

Yelp
Still a banger 11 years later! Been coming back for the avocado shakes and grilled pork chops since my first time eating at this place.

cloudy N.

Yelp
I love this place they have the best food. Really friendly has the best service and takes care of customers. I also like their menu options and customer service and ambiance.

Anne G.

Yelp
Worst customer service, they missed one of my order. I called and asked and the guy start yelling and hung up all of the sudden.

Daniel L.

Yelp
Nice little family run restaurant with good food. Bun Bo hue was good. Would visit again!

Yelp
I highly recommend this place. I'm always trying out different Vietnamese Restaurants with my family but the food here was very delicious. After trying the place out for the first time, I soon told my other relatives who live in the same area to try it out & now they're hooked. I often order from this place especially that it just satisfies me for the rest of the day. If the owner & staff were to see this, I hope you know that I appreciate the hard work that everyone does. I love it here, can't wait to order again soon.

Yelp
Food - very good. Nice combinations. Service - good. Nothing to complain about. Ambiance - the top of luxury on the West Side. Almost Four Seasons caliber. Emphasize on almost.

Yelp
Thanh Huong is a local and authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Jersey City. Their decor is simple, causal and wide-spaced. The owner and staff are friendly and welcoming. Food there was amazingly delicious and portion was great with reasonable prices. We ordered their fried squid as appetizer, noodles soup with duck, pho with brisket & tenderloin and chicken with mixed veggies. Our favorite was their fried squid which was juicy, covered by crispy layer and even more tasty with special sweet & sour flavored sauce. Their broth of pho was also good and warmed up our body in a chilly winter. Overall, we will stop by Thanh Huong again if we are around the neighborhood.

Rosie B.

Yelp
Great soup on a chilly day. The service was good, family owned so they are very attentive. Would go back to try more from the menu.

Yelp
Great choices. My go to spot while visiting jersey city. The viet subs are a great sandwich.

Yelp
Park close, get your food, then get out of this neighborhood as fast as you can. Take my advice and you will be happy that you came to enjoy the best, and only Vietnamese restaurant in the vicinity for miles. Their food is better and less expensive than the one Vietnamese restaurant in Bayonne, the one I visited near Grove Street, and the one I visited in West New York. The only problem is that this is in the worst neighborhood of them all. I am pretty sure this is a family run business and when I come to a place like this where great grandma is serving, grandpa is cooking, and their next generations are hanging out helping then I KNOW it is going to be some good, authentic, home-made tasting food on the way. Their pho is on point, their vermicelli with pork spring rolls and chops are great. I have nothing but good things to say about the food. The service is ok, grandma isn't trying to charm, you just feed you. So don't expect that. The environment is very simple with table seating and a TV that has nothing interesting on ever. So yes go grab a bite here, eat, save your conversation for later, and don't bother strolling around in the neighborhood. There is some great food in the area, and you are good if you stick to your destinations. This is the hood!

Yelp
Cant go wrong with a classic vietnamese food. Been in the community for a long time. No frill or ambiance but the quality of food is the best. Asian people dont pay for ambience, we pay for the quality of food.
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
The menu is pretty long, which was a little overwhelming so three people in our group ended up ordering the same thing, spicy chicken w lemongrass on white rice #62 (one order was actually #77 which is the exact same meal but with rice on the side). We also got shrimp w lemongrass on white rice, grilled pork on white rice, and egg rolls. Everything was amazing! We wanted to try the bahn mi but it is very popular and they were out of bread by that time! We're looking forward to ordering again and trying the bahn mi and the pho!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. I can't believed I just found this place. It takes me at least 30 minutes to drive here but I am so glad I did. A true authentic Vietnamese place in NJ. Food is good and the price is right. I highly recommend this place. I will become regular here since I really like their pho beef noodle soup.
google avatar

Selena Y.

Yelp
Good and affordable Vietnamese dishes. With the cold weather settling in, I find myself craving warm bowls of pho more and more often, and the dishes here completely hit the spot! The pho itself has generous amounts of noodles and meat; I find the regular size bowl to be more than enough for a meal, but you can get the "big" or "extra big" if you're feeling hungrier. I also tried some of the banh mi, which was tasty and nicely toasted, though maybe just a *tad* over-toasted...still pretty good though and would order again. Last but not least, you can't forget to order the Vietnamese coffee. The coffee is strong with just the right amount of sweetened condensed milk to jump-start your afternoon. I'll probably be back a lot more as the weather gets colder!

Yelp
This mom and pop spot serves up authentic food. Second time coming here and they did not disappoint. Growing up eating Viet food, this place needs more recognition. Their food brings me back to childhood. I ordered via phone and it was ready within 15 mins. Very welcoming and got me out quickly since I ordered to go. We had a quick chat and they were so appreciative of their customers. Keep this place running for years to come. This place is a gem. We picked up their Pho for the kids, Com Tam Suon Bi Cha for the Mrs. and my all time favorite Bún bò Huế.

Michelle O.

Yelp
Sad that I live far away from this place but glad that a good Vietnamese restaurant exists in Jersey City. Their portion is bigger and better than Nha Trang in Newport and prices cheaper. It's worth the drive to get here. Food I tried: 1) Bahn Mi - at $5, this bahn mi is an unbeatable deal. Baguette is crispy and warm and their sauce is so good. 2) extra big bowl pho - $9.50. Decent and beats Nha Trang's in portion and price 3) Bun Bo Hue - If you are in the mood for a spicier noodle soup than pho, this is a good choice. Their pork blood is more palatable than Nha Trang's. All their noodle soups come with a generous bag of sprouts, mint and basil. Street parking only.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Came here for the bahn mi. The bread is fresh and soft, however the meat and vegetable filling is really lacking. Not sure if they just ran out of meat, but the ratio of meat to bread is on the low side. I would prefer to have a bit more veggies to make up for the lack of meat. Also, there are no pate spread in the sandwich. For the price, there are better places.
google avatar

Monissa W.

Yelp
You know this place is legit when the bun bo hue has pig feet and blood cubes! And the people working there are Vietnamese. The prices are pretty good for the portions they give. $4.95 for 5 spring rolls?? Unheard of. They were so delicious!! Do not walk past this place without trying it. The people working there are so kind and welcoming too. I love it here and will definitely be coming back whenever I am craving Vietnamese food in jersey city!
google avatar

Chau A.

Yelp
A hidden gem!! Never thought coming from SoCal that this restaurant is up-to-par, or in my opinion, way better then some southern Cali (Viet) restaurants! I usually don't finish my soups/rice, but man, I pretty much nailed it with these items!! Great Vietnamese food in the heart of Jersey City. Oh, and their avocado shake, taste JUST like AVOCADO!!! Not like the ones that are so lack in flavor. I'm telling y'all...come and give this place a (must) try, u won't be disappointed, I surely wasn't. Will definitely be back when I'm in town. Very nice people run this establishment as well.
google avatar

Dominique S.

Yelp
Is there anything better than a hot bowl of pho on rainy days? Anyday actually. I love this place, especially the fried spring rolls with pork and veggies; absolutely addictive.
google avatar

Molly C.

Yelp
Got fresh beef eye pho and beef chuck fried rice. Very fresh and flavorful! Will def go back again.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
The best and most authentic Vietnamese food in New Jersey, hands down. I promise you that if you're from the West Coast like me and miss having TRUE Vietnamese cuisine, this place will have you in tears with how the food tastes just like your mom's.
google avatar

Bevano L.

Yelp
Whenever I am around the area, I always stop by to get their pork banh mi and special bowl pho. Of these 2 choices, banh mi is a must. I like how crisp the baguette is and of course, the meat flavor and accompaniment sauce. Best thing is that itonly cost $6! Very well priced. As for the pho, they used to have a great portion. During my last visit, I felt that although the meat portion was still generous, their noodle portion was smaller than usual. Nonetheless, I am still a fan.
google avatar

Lukas P.

Yelp
Very solid vietnamese restaurant that serves good portion bowls of pho. The broth was very flavorful and there was a good ratio of meat to noodles. Food came out fast and hot. Service was very timely and they even showed me where to park for free. The only problem I have is the interior and bathroom are a little dated. Otherwise, a great a place to eat.
google avatar

Vineet S.

Yelp
No frill Vietnamese spot with some really good food. We came here on a rainy evening to get some pho, the spot itself is old but let that not fool you food here is really good. We tried the chicken and seafood pho, and both were really good with a very authentic and tasty broth. There was a perfect balance between the meat and broth quantity, and the portion size was really good. We will definitely come back!!
google avatar

Juan S.

Yelp
The day after New year's, most places were closed. We wanted a soupy spot and pho would hit the sweet spot. Glad this place was open but made sure to call first. Picked out some congee and pho. Both were really good. Totally hit the spot on a cold wet night. Service was fast. Think this is better than downtown Viet. Thanh Huong is very much recommend. FYI: if you use the parking on the side, there's some dude that asks you for money to park. Ignore him, he's some loser who works at the grocery.
google avatar

Dalton D.

Yelp
Found my new favorite Bun Bo Hue (Hue Noodle Soup) since I left Chicago. I thought that no place can make that good Bun Bo Hue like Cafe Hoang in Chicago but this place does a very good US version. Blood cake is kinda smaller but tasty and firmly. Great job. Got Brown Chicken (ga chat) Pho too. However I haven't got chance to try cause they're out of it when I come at 7pm on Sunday. Will definitely come back. My friend ordered Bun Thit Nuong ( grilled pork noodles) tastes ok and not very special but it's kinda close to Vietnamese style more than any place mostly. Their egg rolls seem like original from Central Vit Nam too
google avatar

Ileana A.

Yelp
You know the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover," well... Don't let the outdoor decor fool you! The food packs so much flavor & for the price, you really can't beat that. This place was purely a "try this place out!" And was told to let the flavor speak for itself. Well, no having been there multiple times and ordering different items from the menu, I can say: try this place out! Spring OR summer rolls, the spicy pork & beef soup, bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwich) and the pork chops. I've only ordered for take out but women working the front get you in & out quickly to avoid much contact with anyone waiting for food. They take card but cash is ALWAYS preferred. Not bad helping your locals huh? Enjoy! Buen provecho
google avatar

Karema A.

Yelp
As the weather has gotten colder, I ventured out to find a piping hot bowl of pho. Thanh Huong Restaurant did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant has a fair amount of seating and the ambiance is very causal. We ordered the spring rolls and summer rolls to start- both were very tasty and their dipping sauces complimented the rolls well. I chose the meatball pho as my main and that was very flavorful. What I really liked about my soup is that the portion was just the right amount for me. Sometimes when you order pho in other restaurants I'm faced with this gigantic bowl that I can barely finish. However, if you come extra hungry they also have larger portions available. I look forward to returning to try many of their other dishes...along with an avocado shake!
google avatar

Howie H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a really quick dinner on a weeknight. Got the pork chops over rice with shredded pork. The pork chop was finger licking good. I was cleaning the meat off the bone. I ordered a shave ice dessert to go. That did not disappoint. Sorry, forgot the name but see the pic for reference. I would definitely visit this place again when I'm in the area. There's only street parking.
google avatar

Juliana N.

Yelp
Delicious food, good balance of flavors, good quality of ingredients and not greasy. The staff is very friendly and the price is fair. Awesome place! Will def be coming back.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday for lunch. Even though there are plenty of seating inside the restaurant, it was almost empty when we were there. I had the fried spring rolls and the beef/brisket pho. Pho was relatively good, the broth was tasty. Fried spring rolls were average. Price was good though.
google avatar

Robbie S.

Yelp
We were on our way home from New Hampshire to Virginia and wanted a nice hot bowl of pho soup for dinner on a wet, cold and rainy day. My wife did some research and found this spot that was not too far out of the way with good reviews. The phone map took us to the wrong location (a few blocks off) and we had to navigate ourselves by walking to the location with our phone. It seemed like the driving direction was slightly different than walking direction. When we walked in, it was a very small shop with maybe 6 or 7 tables. It was very informal and felt like a hole in the wall type of place or something you would find at china town in New York. We ordered a small pho with meatballs for my 9 year old daughter and my 6 year old son. My wife and I ordered a small pho bowl with lots of meat including meatballs. The food came quickly and we all devoured it. It was really good but there was also a strange taste that both my wife and I noticed at different times but these tastes were very short lived. The kids loved the pho and said it was so good. Based on our experience, we would definitely come back if we are in the area again.
google avatar

Vu T.

Yelp
It's the best spot around. They have everything but we love their sandwiches and Vietnamese egg rolls. The people working there are very sweet and kind. Their sandwiches are huge and sometimes can feel overwhelming but delicious! I feel like their Pho has gotten a lot better also.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
When we left the restaurant, I saw the waitress bring back our bean sprouts for the pho back into the kitchen to reuse. This is unacceptable, especially post Covid times. I will never be back!
google avatar

Sophia H.

Yelp
Got delivery from here today (I'm in journal square). Really tasty, authentic and a total bargain; delivery was also quick. I ordered over the phone. I'll be ordering from here again in the near future!
