The Best Vietnamese Food in Seattle for Takeout and Delivery | Eater Seattle

"This International District place has some of the best tofu in town, with large blocks of firm tofu, containers of plain or sweet soy milk, and tofu pudding with ginger syrup. Though the self-serve buffet is no longer an option, there’s banh mi available for takeout." - Gabe Guarente

This place is a hidden gem in the Little Saigon neighborhood of Seattle, with a large selection of tofu products and other Vietnamese food. Their fresh tofu pudding is my favorite, and comes with ginger syrup on the side so you can control the sweetness to your preference. Even with a large amount of drug and unhoused activity outside the store, the inside of the store is clean and modern. Despite having a great selection of products, the employees often play games to try to squeeze more money out of people. It's infuriating. For example, yesterday I asked for a small container of eggplant and the woman behind the counter proceeded to grab the largest container she could find and rushed to fill it up before I could say "stop", and then she still added a few more heaping spoonfuls afterwards -- just adding to the per-pound price as we watched in disbelief. Prices often seem to be made up on the fly at the cash register and my receipt frequently has items combined or listed as "other" to obscure the price. Sometimes there are upsells that cost a lot more than they should. One time I think I was charged nearly $20 for two blocks of fresh tofu. If you want the same product, but properly labeled priced consistently, just go to Hau Hau Market next door. Otherwise, if you choose to buy direct watch the prices for fairness and say something if you're overcharged. I truly wish the family running the store would label their foods and charge consistent prices so I could give them a 5 star review.

I like stopping here for the Bahn Mi Sandwiches. They are a good price for the size sandwich you get. They also have a nice selection of other hot food items. They have a fenced in parking lot so it helps keep the sketchy people out.

Google
You're here for the banh mi. They make very good sandwiches and that's all you should order - vegetarian options are also available. The bread could be improved a bit (go early to get fresher loafs) but the fillings are moist and generous. They do offer other smaller options and drinks as well but nothing compares to the sandwiches. There's a small free parking lot on site but otherwise you're parking on the street.

Google
Because I live nearby, I often come here to buy. This is the first time I read other customers' reviews and I see that they all have the same feelings as me, so I wrote a review. There are 3 staff members, two Vietnamese and a girl who looks Mexican (banh mi area). The young Vietnamese girl has a normal attitude and is fine, but the older woman is very unpleasant. Although the food is quite delicious, the staff is very bad, it feels like buy it quickly and go. The food is delicious but the price is quite high for banh cuon and banh uot.

Google
Nice location to get Vietnamese products. Not only do they sell banh mi, but they also sell soy milk, pandan, and more. The atmosphere is a stuffy since it's a busy place. The tofu banh mi is nice, but inconsistent. They do put a unique sauce inside the banh mi, which is delicious.

Google
Thanh Son Tofu and Bakery is a great spot for Vietnamese cuisine and dessert. The tofu is fresh made and the bean with coconut milk dessert was delicious. The decor is nice and the area is bit shady but in the day you will be fine.

Google
The store’s name speaks for itself. The store specializes in tofu food, including other Vietnamese food. I am fond of their hot and tasteful soybean milk ( both sugar and no sugar) and ordinary fried tofu. I heard some complaints about their services, but nothing wrong happened to me. They have around 15 parking lots in front of the store. Sometimes, I stop by to get some tofu sandwiches for breakfast. Again, I highly recommend this fantastic place to anyone

Google
That best banh mi that I have ever had! My friend flew all the way to Sacramento with it and I ate it all. I wish I could have 10 more. Everything from the pickled veggies, meat, and bread was incredible.

Yelp
Huge fan of this spot! So glad we found this on Yelp because this is my tofu heaven! It's a casual walk in spot. They have a little parking lot so if you come when it's not too busy, parking is easy. Service is nice! It's kind of like a store and deli combined. They have an area where you can order bahn mi sandwiches, an area to shop for prepared items, and an area to order cooked tofu by the pound. Their bahn mi sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced! We got the combo and the grilled pork. We also bought their tofu dessert, a drink from the case, some fresh sweetened soy milk, and pickled veggies. Next time I really want to try their cooked tofu items!

Yelp
i like the lemongrass tofu, basil drink, and prices. ordered a beef sandwich thinking i would get slices of beef in it like what banh mi competitors usually sell. i opened the bread to see that they use dry, unseasoned hamburger patties and call it grilled beef. yeah, grilled two weeks ago and reheated in a hot plate buddy. i was salvaging for more mayo to lube it up bc the meat is drier than your mom. the grilled pork banh mi looks better and is likely the more popular option because it IS better. i tend to avoid eating pork bc someone said pigs are people who couldn't make it to the afterlife so their souls become trapped in pig bodies. so i ordered beef. but i might as well be eating someone's remains rn bc this is a textural disaster. it reminds me of a dream i had as a child of my sister chewing meatloaf and smacking it around in front of my face w her mouth wide open, which was so disgusting that i stopped eating meatballs in spaghetti and pho for years!!1!1!111!!!1! what i am holding in my hand at this very moment is not banh mi. it is not a hamburger either. it is an abomination. any meat that looks and feels like this is the bane of my existence. whoever invented this should eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday since they thought it was a bright idea! just bc you can doesn't always mean you should. maybe put "beef hamburger patty" sandwich on the menu instead of calling it a grilled beef sub. hope this helps :)

Yelp
Well.. Let me first say I enjoy the wide varieties of tofu available at Thanh son! However, having NOT visiting their establishment since the remodel it has been several years since I stepped foot inside. WOW! was my first impression upon entering the front entrance! I was somewhat familiar with the protocol and immediately got in line. Shortly after doing so another patron entered the store and to my surprise BOLDLY stepped in front of me!? My first thought was okay it's a female and she seemed to do so innocently however RUDE it seemed to me! I decided to let it go as it was barely 10 :00 a.m. on a sunny Saturday morning! Shortly afterwards she placed her order speaking in Vietnamese. It also dawned on me that there were no labels or prices on the various selections? How was I going to place my order if I don't speak Vietnamese? While waiting for her order I asked her what varieties of tofu are on display. She kindly informed me in English that there were 3 varieties Plain, Lemongrass, & another with fried shallots is what I thought I heard. By this time she had moved along to the cashier to pay. I was next in line and stepped up to the tofu display and asked the attendant how much per pound was the tofu. "5 dollar per pound", she barked out to my shock and dismay! I was astounded by her abrupt and hostile tone towards me! I was also a bit irritated at the same time as I did NOTHING even remotely offensive to warrant such a RUDE response! I let it go and told her I would like 1/2 a pound of lemongrass tofu please! She quickly picked up 2-3 pieces of tofu and angrily placed them inside a plastic sack without weighing the contents. Seeing that 1/2 a pound only consisted of 3 pieces I then asked her to please give me a pound! I don't know why but this request for some strange reason pushed her over the edge! She immediately grew hostile and agitated with me and practically threw my sack to the side! I was DONE with her! I immediately told her it's obvious that you don't want to help me so can you get someone else to assist me as you apparently are NOT AVAILABLE TO DO SO! She tried to smile and walk back her insolent demeanor BUT it was TOO LATE! The store manager apparently was the cashier and overheard my exchange with his employee and kindly stepped in to assist me as his present employee could/would NOT! He was apologetic and quickly provided me with the courteous customer service that once upon a time was customary! My question is, What happened to the friendly customer service whenever you purchase goods and services? Is it a bygone era replaced by rude and insolent clerks and employees who only care about profit margins and smoke breaks? I won't let an AGITATED & HOSTILE clerk intimidate me from shopping at Thanh Son Tofu! If and when I do come back I'll make sure that she DOESN'T get the opportunity to assist me! BTW Where do these people come from ?

Yelp
Quick service, variety of food changes. At times staff can be inpatient if you take too long to decide and there is a line behind you (happened to my non-Vietnamese friend as she was trying to figure out what the foods were). Decent pricing

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite banh mi deli places as the flavors of the banh mi's are just delicious! It's also great that they make their breads in house and fresh. The building consists of two different businesses. The left side is where you can buy desserts and fresh tofu products. Whereas, the right side is where you can order the banh mi's and any other deli items. It is a very spacious and clean building, with nice interior decor. It's great that they do have signs that encourage health safety, as in wearing masks and social distancing. On the deli side, they had a good number of people building the banh mi orders using an assembly line of three workers putting in the fillings for the banh mi's. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only downfall was the limited parking. They do have a private parking lot, but the parking can be rather difficult because of limited space in the lot. Other than parking, everything was great and I'd definitely continue to go here for my banh mi.

Yelp
Came here to buy some tofu. I hadn't eaten this kind of stuff for years and I was missing my parents cooking. The store is clean and there's things around the deli as well as the cases where they serve you. The lemongrass tofu had a lot of lemongrass flavor. The mushroom and onion had a lot of noodles and mushrooms which I loved. Also grabbed a grilled pork banh mi and that was pretty good as well. I also got vegetarian food. It was a little bland but I'll have to eat some more to try it. I also got sweetened soy milk and it is delicious! Overall it was great service and food.

Yelp
What a nice surprise to find a Vietnamese tofu shop in the middle of International District! Like its name, they serve a variety of tofu options along with desserts and carnivore dishes. We bought a tray of their homemade Pandan Coconut Jelly, which were affectionally shaped like hearts. The dessert was nice and light, and not too sweet which is what I like. Ordering and paying for our item was very confusing. We didn't order from the hot bar so we didn't feel the need to stand in line, but there was also nobody at the counter to allow us to pay for our one item. Ended up standing in front of the cashier until they finished serving a large group and allowed us to quickly pay and leave. Better signage would help and maybe bringing someone that knows Viet, otherwise you might not get served for a while.

Yelp
This spot is kind of a hidden gem. Its location by Hao Hao super market. Definitely worth coming if you're craving for some authentic Banh Mi. Better than many places around Seattle. This is probably one of my fav banh mi spot to go to. They also sell other items besides Vietnamese sandwich! Service wise depends on the person lol. Mix & Match!
google avatar

Maryanne L.

Yelp
One of my favorite Banh mi & Vietnamese deli spots in Seattle. The baguettes are freshly made and one of the best I have had in the city. Everything is great here, the tofu, ready made deli items & my fave the pickled veggies. Super great spot to stop by before a Mariners or Hawks game if you want to grab some good eats !
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
This place was honestly overwhelming when I went for the first time but I've only had the fried tofu and now I crave it! Here are a few tips for newbies like me. You wait in the line and then a staff member will individually work with you to grab every item that you want. Just tell them what you want and they'll grab the items one by one. Then once your order is complete, they'll flash you a number. You'll go wait in front of the cash register until the cash register staff pulls up your number. They'll call out the number and that's your indication to go to checkout. For anyone else interested in the fried tofu, it's sold by weight and is fabulous!

Diane L.

Yelp
I enjoy some of the deli here but beware to check your receipts. I was charged for s/t I did not purchase. I think it happened before. After I pointed it out, they did refund me but considering I was the only person in the deli; it doesn't feel like it was an oversight. I simply ask the man how much the item cost and quickly put it back. Why would he enter the item into his computer if he knew I put it right back? They don't put a price to any of their items so it's very easy to be overcharged.

Yelp
I'm surprised at how many bad reviews this place gets on Yelp. My experience here was a great. The banh mi combo and grilled pork were both delicious and a great price. The tofu and noodles were awesome as well. You have to purchase at least a pound of the bulk tofu or noodles to purchase though. The flavors were great. I came back again for dinner, but the place was emptied out or they put most of the things away. WIsh we could have had another meal here, but oh well. They sell desserts, steamed buns, soy milk, picked vegetables, etc here too. A pretty good selection. The service is a little slow though. I feel like they could have a more efficient system, but that's the only real complaint.
google avatar

Trinh M.

Yelp
My family and I always go here for the banh cuon (rice paper rolls with meat/mushrooms), cha gio (egg rolls) and sua dau nanh (soy milk). Great staff - I've had them chase after me multiple times when I forget to grab the nuoc mam that comes with my order :) Parking lot can be tight during their busy hours but luckily there's street parking available, too

Cookie C.

Yelp
The soy milk was delicious, as was the fried tofu. However, in the store when looking at their refrigerated foods there was already mold growing on multiple products in the containers. I've seen other comments about mold as well and it has not improved since.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
The sandwiches are delicious. Our go to is combo #1 Banh mi thit nguoi. The bread is chewy yet flavorful. Give it a little toast in the air fryer and it gets even better. The green soy milk doesn't have pandan flavor in it so was a little disappointing and the green tofu also didn't have any pandan so was kinda disappointing also. But it is nice and silky and sweet. Just wish there was some coconut cream that comes with it.. hint hint Thanh Son ;) banh cuon is nice soft and the meat filling is flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Banh tam is soooo soft and perfect... not tough and not too sweet and not too bland and pair with the muoi me is chefs kiss. Went home and made my own coconut cream to eat it with these babies and it was delicious. Got the 3 color xoi and didn't get to try it yet but I'm sure it will be tasty.
google avatar

Carl H.

Yelp
Being from Houston, I am very disappointed. I was hoping to find a place with more authentic xôi and chè. My first experience was very disappointing - didn't eat most of the xôi I got. The coconut milk topping for the Chè was so bland. I went back a second time hoping my previous experience was a fluke. Again, xôi gấc was terrible (unflavored) and xôi bắp was okay. Once again , the coconut milk topping was totally out of the can (tasteless) and chè đậu trắng was so bland.

Yelp
The veggie banh mi was delicious. I love all of their products and always bring goodies back to Portland. The fried tofu is my favorite! I also got FRESH SOY MILK. It came out hot. Staff are friendly and have very quick movements, so make sure to order quickly as there is always a long line.
google avatar

Keely W.

Yelp
Best soy milk in Seattle, I am obsessed. I usually get it at H Mart. Don't post reviews often on Yelp but their low review is undeserved.
google avatar

Dan N.

Yelp
Tiệm bán không có kéo! Khách nhờ cắt nhỏ bánh ướt thì kêu không cắt được vì không có kéo. Mua nửa pound tofu thì kêu không có hộp bỏ bô bịch nylon như bịch rác!
google avatar

Vin C.

Yelp
Venture in to this part of town and you will find this hidden treasure. I ordered the veggie tofu bahn mi and it was delicious ! Lots of veggies and tofu, and a large sandwich. The Thai iced tea boba was six bucks but delicious ! Ordering and paying is a bit confusing and didn't quite know where the line started. Also parking lot was busy and had to wait a minute to get a spot. On the other hand, staff, service and prices are excellent.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
This place have poor service and the sandwiches is overpriced. The girls who are making the sandwiches can't speak any Vietnamese and they are very stingy on the meat and pate. Their banh coun is hard and tasteless.

Tuan H.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Problem is there are no prices on the food items, and the receipt bundles items together rather than lists them individually. After paying, I found out one item was too expensive but I did not want to hold up the line to return it. My friends also said this store is not transparent about pricing and put them in awkward position to return items. I had to pay for sandwiches at one line, then pay for tofu at a different line. So inefficient. At the Thanh Son in Virginia, there is only one line; customers order what they want and pay at the end of the line.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
Good place to go for Vietnamese "street food"/snacks. Banh mi here has lots of meat if you go for grilled meat - like the grilled pork. The combo was all right. I think the taste is just ok but my partner seems to love the sandwich. They have a selection to tofu product and we bought the tofu stuffed with meat and also the noodle rolls stuffed with meat. I also bought a drink to go from there but it turned out to not be so cheap anymore - so not sure if I was saving much from buying drinks here. But I guess if you want che ba màu this is still one of the places to get it.
google avatar

Himal S.

Yelp
I kept passing by this place and I finally had a chance to try this place out! This place has interesting choice of tofu! They have a whole selection of tofu you can pick from and pay for it by weight! They even have sandwiches you can try from. I got different types of fried tofu with Vietnamese coffee which was delicious! I even tried the pandan jelly or something which was interesting... it was gelatin free and tasted sweet! Also they have some parking space outside which was great!

May L.

Yelp
The employees at this location are so rude. why do you think they have to yell??? i would give it a 0 is that's an option.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
I absolutely hate to do this but I would have to give Thanh Son a 0! After so long of not coming here for their banh mi I still love their tofu and sweet snacks. I have made a pit stop here and have ordered their beef banh mis before and never have I ever seen this kind of Vietnamese sandwich in my life! A hamburger patty marinated in lemongrass! I have ordered their beef sandwich before and it's usually thin slice beef or chunks of beef marinated in lemongrass but never have I ever been served a hamburger patty that has been saturated in lemongrass! I have no idea what is going on with Thanh son but I hope they get it together! Also please note prior to visiting today I've tried to come on a Monday 3x and they're closed which doesn't say on their online schedule!
google avatar

Jeannie N.

Yelp
Prices went up while quality went down. Bánh ướt dried and bland. Bánh cuốn MAY be decent but they ran out at 2pm on a Thursday so I wouldn't know how it is. Their fresh tofu was good, same as I remembered. $7 sandwiches are skimpy on meat. Combo had 2 slices of Vietnamese ham and 2 slices of headcheese. Bbq pork was not "heo quay" but more like sa xíu pork belly. Most disappointing of all sandwiches was the grilled beef - 2 halved beef patties. Disgusting. Service was ok not stellar but not rude, all business. Ambiance? Lights turned down, only natural lights through windows. Everyone doing their shopping, no manners, no boundaries. Yesterday could very be my last trip here.

Francis A.

Yelp
Good Ban Mhi place and I always go there. The only downfall is that people don't speak English very well and it is always hard to get an order right. I always have to watch them otherwise they screw up the order. They think everybody wants everything on their sandwiches. Ordering online would reduce this headache.
google avatar

Michele W.

Yelp
Best Banh mi I've found in the PNW. Also love the fresh noodle and fried tofu bar. They have a great selection of fresh desserts and ready to go drinks and che. The people are super nice too. My kids and I love coming here!
google avatar

Yelp
This second review is not an update per se, but to provide additional information and sharing some of the unposted prices that I previously mentioned. Everything in the previous review remains to be true, except I'm saying they are a solid 3 Stars now, not a 3.5 Stars. Today's purchases are: Fried Tofu with Green Onion and Vermicelli - the 6 pieces were $4.56. They sell by weight since the pieces are not uniform. These are still a favorite. Banh Cuon (steam rice roll with cooked seasoned ground pork, minced wood ear mushroom, and minced shallots) - 4 pieces, it was over 1 lb. The total cost was $9.06. These are sold by weight. The per lb cost was $7+. They did something really gross here. The lady who packaged them also put in the nuoc cham container sitting on the Banh Cuon. The lady who weighed it then took the nuoc cham container out onto the dirty unwiped area next to the scale/register to weigh the container, and then promptly put it back in SITTING ON THE FOOD. BARF!!!!! She did it all so fast I didn't even have a chance to interrupt her. If it wasn't a small business, I would be flipping a lid on them. Instead, I'm cutting out that part of the Banh Cuon instead. Tofu Pudding with Ginger Syrup - $3.75 Still a favorite buying from here. HOT!! Fresh Tofu - $1.80 Still a favorite to buy from here. HOT!!
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiched. Big and filling! $6 each is a bargain. Grilled pork is my go to, followed by the combo and then the meatball. So much better than other sandwich places. The baos are great too as are the cold cut porkloads, Cha Luas. Perfect for making your own sandwiches or slicing up and serving with a meal st home. The rice noodle rolls with meat or without by the pound is super delightful and filling. 3 pounds per person feeds for a week!
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
I was very impressed by the huge building, selection, amazing efficiency, and cleanliness of this Vietnamese tofu store. It's in a more hidden alley so mostly everyone in line seemed Vietnamese or long time loyal customers. Bahn mi are made at the right side, middle is pick and choose all sorts of ready to eat tofu, and left was the warm freshly made soy milk, pandan desserts, and salty grabs. Parking lot is busy and full with only a one way in and out but you can wait your turn for a spot since it's such a go in and out type of shop. While you're here you can shop across the street at the local Asian grocery wet market. It's quite hidden in a back alley so I wouldn't be surprised if local Seattlites did not know it existed.
google avatar

Nic M.

Yelp
Thank Son Tofu is my to go place for basic deli food for years, nothing special but they do it well and it is consistent. Five stars because to me they are an establishment to the area, everyone knows this place. Don't expect the best food but you won't be disappointed. Parking is right in front but can be super busy during peak hours, street parking available as well. My usual are the Combo and BBQ pork sandwiches (ask for veggies separately if you plan to eat it much later). The mushrooms & jalapenos tofus are out of this world delicious! The lines set up can be confusing, one line for certain deli food ordering and another line for sandwiches. Don't be afraid to be aggressive and push your way through at busy times. This is very typical of all Vietnamese deli, an experience for sure, how they do it back in the motherland.
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
Best banh mi I've ever had and it's very affordable. Great place to get fried tofu for any recipes you have as well since it takes over an hour to dry tofu on your own
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
The only thing holding this review together is their fresh soy milk. Thanh Son Tofu is pretty well known back in Little Saigon, Orange County. I'm not sure what the deal is with this location. Banh Cuon- Their banh cuon with meat was just supbar. The meat mixture had too much pepper in it for my liking. I would pass on this next time. There was another instance where I ordered the plain banh cuon without meat and the worker only gave me a small little container for the crispy dried onions/shallots. When I asked for another container, she said that they offer to sell them by the package on the counters near checkout. This was such a huge turn off for me... I'll be back for their soymilk only and would pass on their banh cuon on future visits. There are better options in International District.
google avatar

Shari C.

Yelp
At Thanh Son Tofu, banh mi sandwiches are made to order and come in a variety of offerings from veggie to meats (egg, pork, ham, beef, you name it). They are a decent size and at $4.50 each, make affordable options for a quick meal. I ordered the #2, the grilled pork sub, which was tasty. I prefer my baguette to be crispier, however it was still good overall. I appreciated that everything here was made fresh, instead of most Vietnamese shops that pre-make the sandwiches. They also bake their own baguettes which you can purchase for $1. There's limited seating here and parking can be a tight squeeze. Park on the street to get in and out faster. As for service, it was mediocre. I ordered and got the sammies in a timely manner, but the workers there looked like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed, permanently. They sell other things other than banh mi such as tofu, lemongrass, sticky rice and all the usual staples of Vietnamese cuisine.
google avatar

Wilson T.

Yelp
I went there on Sunday to grab some Banh Cuốn. They have prepackaged into a box. I just random pointed one and paid. When I got home and prepare my meal, I found out the Banh Cuốn was not freshly made. It felt like left over from yesterday. Horrible!
google avatar

Najin K.

Yelp
During Covid review: Got the lemon grass tofu and unsweetened soymilk both were great. The Soy milk was still hot and fresh on the shelf, you have the choice between the blue cap (unsweet) and the green cap (sweet), this is the one you find at ranch 99. This soy Milk is by far the best flavor and texture I have found, it is not thick like the soy milk from the white people grocery but it is still creamy. They have an entire refrigerator section of Vietnamese desserts and tofu pudding. They also have a hot section for banh mi, fried tofu, and the beef filled rice roll (Banh Cuon). This was more than I expected and all at a good price.
google avatar

Joanne J.

Yelp
Fresh soy milk pipping hot that I have to cradle it in my arms with my thick sleeves. Came here with my parents to show them where I get fresh soy milk, different fried tofus, desserts, and Vietnamese sandwiches....all in one place. There is a catch; there are two lines. One side is for baked goods, already made desserts, steamed dumplings, tofu pudding and fresh soy milk, and the other side is for the "hot bar" where you order your hot foods and other sweet desserts. Tag team is not necessary but it's encouraged when it's busy like yesterday morning before the super bowl
google avatar

Diana X.

Yelp
The tofu bar and fried tofu is excellent! Prices are affordable, and the variety of tofu preparations are really interesting. They have a bunch of desserts and Vietnamese snacks too. I really love the availability of their tofu in grocery stores such as Uwajimaya. It's my all-time favorite cooking tofu, and again the prices are super reasonable. Glad to have something like Thanh Son around in Seattle.

Ann M.

Yelp
I decided to go in yesterday to get some breakfast, but after my terrible experience, I will not be coming back. After waiting in line for over 15 minutes, the lady at the register skipped over me and helped the two people in line with no acknowledgment toward me at all. If they were here to pick up for to go, I would have no comment, but they were just walk-ins like me. They were not even busy! I then went over to the owner to tell her what happened, but she did not even say a word of apology and even told me to get back in line after some people had began to cue up. I am completely disappointed in the discriminatory way that they treat their customers and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Holy Moley you wouldn't expect to find a place like this in Chinatown - they remodeled so it was modern and fairly large for a deli. Thanh Son just use to be a tofu company, hence it's name, but this was not something I expected. I walked in and there was this deli with 4-5 different stations to order different things - it was like Vietnamese foodie heaven! There was a banh mi station, where they make your Vietnamese sandwiches to order. There's a che station, where they have 6-8 different desserts that you can get scooped out for you with a container of fresh coconut milk. There's another station with the banh cuon aka fresh rice rolls, a station with just fried goodness, etc etc. I was overwhelmed but at the same time, I wanted to order everything! I got several banh mi dac biets aka Special Deli Meat Sandwiches. My friend was raving that they make their own bread so I was excited to try it. I got home and the bread didn't stay very crispy, almost tasted too buttery. The sandwich itself contained 4-5 slices of different deli meats and lacking in pickled veggies. I was a bit disappointed, I have to say I miss the packed sandwiches full of meats/pickled veggies with a crispy bread. I also wish they put pate in the sandwich! I have to say I personally prefer Saigon Deli over this sandwich. The Che Dau Son aka Mung Bean dessert was delicious though and so satisfying. I would definitely come back to try other things and at ~$3.50 a sandwich, I can't really complain too much =)

Yelp
Horrible slow service. I will not be returning after this trip even as a long time customer. They do not enforce their line. They served two people who cut everyone else in line. The wait was very long. The sandwiches are okay but they increased their prices. I'm sure you can find similar food products elsewhere. The parking lot is way too small.

Yelp
Pro: Clean, spacious, and the staff was nice despite what folks are saying in the reviews. There's no tipping :) Con: No prices on a majority of the items No ingredients on a majority of them items I told the gal there are no prices on a lot of items. She responded nicely and said she knows in a slightly exasperated way like she's tried.

Yelp
Great tofu choices. Was recommended and was not disappointed. I liked the spicy and onion flavored. I bought sandwiches as well but was not impressed. There are better places to get sandwiches. The place is very busy so I would recommend to come in the morning if possible.

Yelp
The business has gone down. We got che ba mau and was excited to eat when we got home. But it was spoiled. One scoop and I had to throw the entire cup away. And it was pricey too. My husband was wondering why these were prepackaged. Now we understand why. It probably from yesterday or the day before. Who knows. Too bad we live 30 mins away from the store or else I would have called them.

Yelp
I came here around 8:50am on a Friday and there was already some ppl outside waiting even though it opens at 9am. When the store opened I realized forgot to lock my bike. Within the two minutes it took to lock my bike, like five ppl ordered banh mi before me and I ended up waiting close to 15 minutes for my two banh mi orders to come out. This was a lot longer than I expected. They also didn't have any soymilk out and I had to flag some of the employees down to ask for one. They take cash or card (I paid with VISA credit card). Soy milk (4/5) / $3 Cold and almost creamy. I've had better from chinese breakfast places in LA. I haven't tried any other soy milk in Seattle besides the one that Biang Biang sells on their drink list (3/5 not amazing, a little powdery, expensive). Tofu banh mi (3/5) / $5.50 Bread got soggy after 2 hours (I had bought it for lunch), way too heavy on the mayo, not enough pickled veggies (or maybe not pickled enough?), tofu / vermicelli filling was bland. Grilled pork banh mi (4.5/5) / $5.50 So much tastier (lemongrassy flavor).

Yelp
Food here went downhill. Higher charge and much lower quality. Banh Cuon is filled with most of Cu San and tasteless.

Yelp
One of the biggest local producer of everything tofu with a nice storefront and some off street parking. Aside from the variety of flavored fried tofu pieces which initially attracted me to this place, they also have a large bread oven for all the French bread needed to make the many varieties of bahn mi. There's nothing like the smell of fresh baked French bread! I was told about this place years back by a friend who sold me on their fresh soy milk, which are made fresh daily. They make two varieties, sweetened and unsweetened. The sweetened version, when drunk warm is simply sublime! If it's a bit too sweet for you, I suggest cutting it to your liking with the unsweetened version. I have heard people say that the unsweetened version is like drinking liquid tofu, which it sort of is, I guess. Everything is rather affordable, so you'll see folks buying up quite a bit of things. I'm slowly going through their many offerings, but the basics keep me coming back every week. What's better than getting your fresh tofu directly from the source? They have recently started to take credit cards. I have no idea if there's a minimum requirement. Lastly, they are closed on Tuesday.

Yelp
This is easy to get to from Bellevue where my work is, Thanh Son is close to I-90 so only takes me 15 minutes to get there for a delicious $3.50 banh mi that fills me up for lunch. It's a deli so there's plenty of Vietnamese snacks/food for you to choose from ranging from fresh soy milk to dessert goodies to meat rolls to full meal items. The deli is very organized and clean compare to a lot of Vietnamese deli close by in Seattle. My go to sandwich Is banh mi heo quay which is the roasted bbq pork sandwich, it's the tits. Maybe better. No, nothing can be better than tits, but close enough. They even have a tofu banh mi for vegetarians, it's quite yummy too even though I'm not vegetarian. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)
