Thank You Pizza - Review - Chinatown - Vancouver - The Infatuation

"From Wednesday through Saturday nights, you can find Thank You Pizza’s bright red, woodfire oven truck parked in front of Hunnybee Bruncheonette, putting out blistered and snappy sourdough crust pizzas. The spicy ‘nduja sausage pizza offers a slap-and-tickle combination of spice, sweetness and texture with its corn niblets, shishito peppers and chilli cream toppings. During the summertime, the vegan mushroom with mizuna option is fresh and filling, dressed up with a zippy truffle vinaigrette. Although the pizza happens inside a tiny four-wheeled space where, sit yourself outside on one of two Gore and Union St. patios, or inside the brick-and-mortar restaurant, where the usually caffeinated daytime hive of activity takes on a new after hours buzz. It’s the perfect spot to whittle away the hours during warm weather months." - Thalia Stopa

What a nice surprise! Met friends here on a sunny spring evening and had great food on an awesome happy hour deal with amazing people watching on the heavily used bike path. Pizza crust (sourdough) was so chewy and delicious. Great variety of toppings.

The Franks Red Hot special was good, buratta was alright. Chocolate pannacotta was ultra mid, very salty. Service was very quick and nice 🙂👍

Pretty solid, freshly made pizza. I wouldn't say it's the best pie in town but it's definitely pretty solid tasting. Crust is a bit flimsy for my liking and it was a big soggy which let to topping falling off quite easily. Still tasted pretty good though. Cool concept using the truck outside to make the fresh pizza and the shared restaurant space when the brunch spot is closed. Drinks are in the pricier side.

What a unique set up which we’ve not seen before. Pizzas are baked outside the premise at some trailer parked in front. Servers actually travel back and forth to serve your pizzas. :) interesting indeed as I wonder how this would work in heavy rain or snow. Pretty much however this place appears to be a great place for wine and pizza where you could enjoy a great date night. There aren’t tons of seatings here but enough to make you feel cozy and comfy. I wish however heating was turned on little higher as we felt little chilly inside. Pizza dough was chewy yet very addictively good.

There is nothing I love more than a sourdough pizza and this one really hits all the marks. My new favorite pizza spot in Vancouver! The staff are so friendly and the Hunnybee space is always a hit. I had ordered the mushroom pizza + frisée and it was so so good. The crust is phenomenal; quite chewy but that is how I prefer it. Couldn’t recommend enough — cannot wait to come back and try more!

Google
excellent pizzas and creative flavours - wasn’t too busy, only a matter of time before this place blows up on tiktok imo i think the suggested tipping option at 18% is weird since there’s no table service, but the guy was pretty friendly

Best pizza in town ❤️ and service is always so amazing. Their natural wine selection is always on point and in the summer that patio is perfect. 100% recommend.

We got a mushroom pizza with a burrata on top. The pizza dough is quite tasty and chewy, I just hoped there would be more mushrooms for the topping. The pizzas are made in a wood oven inside a truck, which is pretty impressive. They also got a very good vibe :)

Yelp
Best wood fired oven pizza EVER. Always go on their happy hour nights (half priced pizza) or when they do specials. Space is small so you'll have to go on the dot or else there won't be seating. Owners are the sweeeeetest ever and even let us sample the different wine selections before we made our choices! I went during a special where they had a butternut squash pizza and I really hope they bring it back as it was to die for.

Yelp
Vancouver's secret pizza shop My friend took me to @typizza.ca last month and I have not been able to stop thinking about them since. Thank You Pizza operates out of @hunnybeebrunch on Wednesdays-Saturdays from 5pm-9:30pm. They make all their pizzas fresh to order from the red truck that's parked outside, and also serve a variety of really interesting a niche beers and wines. They specialize in sourdough pizzas, and have a small but mighty menu of classic pies. I how thin, chewy, and crispy their crust was. Sourdough crusts tend to be a bit more chewy in the centre, and have a crispier shell. The crust to topping ratio here was also perfect, every bite was that nice balance of crust and topping. We were there on a special night and they had a Okonomiyaki pizza on the menu which was an experience for my taste buds. We also ordered their Truffle Mushroom pizza which packed a punch as well. Have you guys ever seen this secret pizza shop in Chinatown? If you haven't, check it out and thank me later 9/10 ‍10/10 $$ (approx. $16-$27/pizza) Thank You Pizza | 789 Gore Ave, Vancouver #vancouver #vancouverfood #vancityfood #yvrfood #vancouverfoodie #pizza #secretpizzashop #hiddengem #localbusiness #food #dishedvancouver

Yelp
If you like AMAZING pizza, tasty grapes, cold brews, and a team that brings impeccable vibes... Look no further. TYP tries their best and we love em for it. Side of ranch optional.

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled upon Thank You Pizza while we were walking through Chinatown, and decided to try it after seeing their pizza oven operating out of a truck on the street. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is super cozy, with cute decor and candlelight tables. There are also outdoor seating that looked super nice to sit at during a nice sunny day, but unfortunately it was already quite dark and chilly outside when we went, so we decided to dine inside. We got a Margherita Pizza to share, and it was pretty good. The pizza was a little too saucy for our liking, and I found the middle a little wet, but overall a solid pizza! I'm definitely recommending Thank you Pizza to my friends and family, as it's such a quaint little corner restaurant. Can't wait to come back for more pizza!

Yelp
We have a new pizza joint in Vancouver and this one is a little different. I have to give credit for businesses getting saavy over this whole Covid stretch and opening, and this one is a different model, sharing the space of Hunnybee Bruncheonette as they do not open at night, and using their facility, yet where do you get a pizza oven from.... well they figured this out by practically having it in a truck parked beside the restaurant and just using the space itself for seating and serving. It is pretty cool, and coming here on the second day of opening we ordered their margherita pizza and two beers (they had a good assortment of local brews). The pizza came out hot from the oven.... I mean it really is just there, you can see it, as the truck has a side that is glass where you can see your pie go into the fire and we decided to eat on the patio in the frigid cold (yes.. it was a snow day!) and enjoy our two beers in the process. The pizza, hands down I have to say that this had some of the best tomato sauce I have had,the tanginess of it is something I cannot say anyone else in town has, where I don't usually order a margherita pizza cause I enjoy some extra stuff, but the story was we were going to have dinner and only wanted a snack... so... we polished off half of the pie on the patio, and the rest in our car and we couldn't stop smiling on every cold leftover bite (remember the cold snow day weather) this pizza gave us. The crust has a different chew and the crust side is not the thinnest, but as they say with pizza it did all go together quite well. Just know if you do want to come down here they are only open Thursday to Sunday but definitely worth your while to try their pizza... and that tomato sauce they use. Also the people are great here, especially Phillip who helped us.... till we eat here again!

Yelp
Best pizza in the city ! So glad this was added to the Strathcona neighbourhood. Def reco the Nduja and the Mushroom.
