Where to Eat Around Jonesboro and Forest Park

"Few burger joints south of Atlanta have the art of making a great burger down to a science as well as That Burger Spot in Jonesboro. The all caps and exclamation point in the name are necessary here, where the nine burger options include the That Just Wakin Up (a double patty of either beef or turkey meat topped with American cheese, bacon, and a fried egg) and the That Night Night (five patties layered with American and pepper jack cheeses). Pair your burger stack with Cajun-spiced crinkle fries. There’s also locations on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta, in Fayetteville, Riverdale, and on Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro." - Alex Leo-Guerra

Google
I called in my order. It took 16 minutes to get there, but it wasn't ready, so be prepared to wait. The guy was kind and stated it wasn't ready. I ordered a double turkey burger with fries, and it was delicious as usual!

Google
Burger was PERFECT !!!! Well seasoned, cooked just right, and got my choice of toppings exactly as ordered. Wings could be better, fresh wing price, frozen wing texture. Frozen wings are fine but need to be more wings for less green, know what I mean..... The only real problem is the MUSIC WAS TOO DAMNED LOUD!!!!

Google
The food is amazing and the customer service was phenomenal. Jaheim was very helpful and insightful with the menu. The experience was excellent!

Google
Always excellent service, always freshly made, and these are absolutely some of the best burgers in Georgia! I highly recommend trying them out! You will not be disappointed!

Google
The food was FRESH & DELICIOUS, the price was reasonable, and the service was friendly! We ordered the Classic Burger and Onion Rings. It's cooked to order so it took us about 20 minutes to get our food BUT the food was excellent! I would recommend ordering online or call ahead if you're in a hurry. Also, there's no sitting area inside so plan on having a nice peaceful meal in your vehicle or back at home or the office 😉

Google
Awesome find! We visited for a couple days and had it twice! I can never find a burger place that offers Turkey burgers so we had to try it and it was soooo good. Food is made once you order so it’s fresh. It was delicious. We tried the Turkey burger, chicken Philly, fries and onion rings and it was all good. 1000% recommend!

Google
This food is absolutely amazing!! I am honestly reluctant to try any other location for fear they will not be the same quality. I found them on Instacart and decided to give them a try, I am beyond glad I did. I can let everyone in my house know I am about to order food and no one will want anything until I tell them I am ordering from here and everyone wants something then. The flavor of the food here is simply orgasmic and cannot get past the variety of proteins available. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Google
great great tasting burger, had a double cheese with extra bacon(dont think they added extra though) It was juicy and delicious. quality of the meat was spot on, bacon was just generic and bland. On such a good burger they could step up their bacon game. Cajun crinkle fries also really tasty. Only downside for me was all of that with a can of coke was $25. To be more expensive than 5 guys is something.

Yelp
Known as the best burger spot in Atlanta with multiple locations, #1 is in Riverdale and I visited #3 in Jonesboro. I came around noon on a weekday and it was about a 15 minute wait with an online order,  this place wasn't busy inside but customers were frequently coming to pick up their To-go orders. Definitely recommend placing the order online if you're in a rush. There is no seating inside or outside so be prepared to eat in your car or drive home. I had a 20 minute drive home and the burger was still fresh, hot and so yummy. Service - everyone I interacted with was friendly. Even while they were working the grill they still acknowledged you. Bag was packed with napkins and ketchup. Food - I had the impossible burger and my oh my it was so GOOD..... it was seasoned like a home cooked burger on the grill, and had so much flavor. Best veggie burger OTP!! I like that I could personalize it because it was perfection. I had the Cajun crinkled fries and thought they were okay, they looked like they were going to be fire but something was missing.  I had to dip it in the sauce for extra flavor. They also have items for pescaterians, vegans, and of course,  carnivores. They have two locations in Atlanta so I'm definitely planning on returning soon to try some of their other vegetarian items.

Yelp
A tab bit overpriced but flavor and texture definitely there. Onion rings are exceptionally crisp and nicely seasoned. Staff is nice and considerate a great burger spot that I'll definitely visit in the future.

Yelp
We ordered a Togo order for two burgers, fries , sweet potato fries and a 10 hot lemon pepper piece wings. I only ate some of the burger because it was a bit dry. Decided to eat some of the wings the next day for lunch. I only ate 3 wings and was sick as a dog. Was in bed for two days vomiting, diarrhea and horrible stomach cramps. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Wow I was SO hungry and this satisfied my hunger - and more. We came across this small spot in Jonesboro just as I happened to say "I'm craving a burger." My coworker pointed it out and in we went! You can only order inside - can't sit to eat your food. We placed our order through the touch screens and 20 minutes later, on the dot, our food was ready. While we waited, dozens of people showed up to pick up their food so you can tell it's a popular spot. The burger was so juicy and crispy at the same time. It also had a slight spicy kick to it which we enjoyed. The regular crinkle fries were okay but I liked my coworker's Cajun fries better. All in all, it reminded us of a better version of Five Guys. I wasn't able to finish my burger or fries so I'm already looking forward to my leftovers tonight.

Yelp
Omg philly Cheesesteak and cajun fries were amazing! This it! Cooked fresh and delicious. Philly was cheesy and fries were seasoned well and both were a good portion. When I'm back in the area I can't say im stopping anywhere else but here

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to go to. There are other locations that I've been to but this one treats me the best and I have yet to have any issues with the food I've had. I am a vegan and the options they have are great. Most of the employees there know me by name now and are very inviting which is a huge reasonI love to come back to this location specifically. The vibe of the place is right up my alley. Urban with hip-hop and R&B playing in the background while you wait on your food. That's if you decide to wait inside for your order. I usually order from online. The time they give you until your food is done is very accurate. I definitely recommend this place 5-Stars

Yelp
I finally made it to That Burger Spot!,and I was not disappointed. Burger was delicious, trimmings were fresh, fries were cooked just right, and restaurant was very clean. In a world where service seems to be a thing of the past, they didn't fall short here either...exceptional service. If you have not tried That Burger Spot! yet, I suggest you do...soon, specifically the Jonesboro location...10249 Tara Blvd.

Yelp
Very tasty but wayyyyyy too salty. Ordered the Turkey burger. Flavor was fabulous other than being over salted. Also took 30 minutes to get my food sitting in the car waiting for a text to tell me it's done. Had to go inside to ask if they forgot to text me. Wanted to get the fries but they are almost $4. Crazy how much stuff has Gone up and you get less (in general). I would try them again but I'd ask for no additional salt. If they say the don't add salt then I would try the fish sandwich.
google avatar

Yelp
The burger was great wait time was excessive. The food was good though. I will return to try more burgers

Yelp
Food was really good and customer service is also great. Placed my order on here to pick up and it was ready earlier than they predicted

Karmin J.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice. I always order my food for pickup. It's been great so far. The online website can be a little tricky and I wish there were more descriptions of what the flavors are (specifically referring to the cranchy wings). The cranchy wings were seasoned but did not taste like there was salt in the mix, that's just personal preference. The wings were piping hot and so was my burger. The service is pretty quick considering they are making it right away. I also like the music being played while I wait for my food. I wish their burgers came with fries instead of the fries being a la carte. I'm willing to spend a couple dollars more for my meal to include fries or combine the fries and the burger prices. The burger is absolutely deliciou

Yelp
I treasure places with vegan options that are as delicious as they are filling, and That Impossible ATL is a banger! Just half of it is incredibly fulfilling. The prices are great for the portions. The food is seasoned perfectly. The bread is soft and fluffy. That Burger Spot has definitely found a reoccurring customer in me, and by the looks of it, they get a good amount of business so I know I'm not the only one. My one and only complaint would be how oily the philly can be, but being that this is the best vegan philly around my area, I don't mind it so much (as long as I have napkins!) 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Quick service whether you order online or in the store. I have a thing for sweet potatoes fries and I order that every time with a juicy turkey burger.
google avatar

Yelp
Ate here a couple of years ago and stopped in today. I tried the steak and cheese grilled sandwich. I ordered with the "special sauce". Be prepared for a hot, spicy bite of delicious! I highly recommend giving them a try!

Yelp
Burgers are good customizable. Slight spin on your favorites. Messy but worth it. Wait times are a bit long tho.

Yelp
I'm visiting from out of town and decided to try this burger spot for dinner. I'm currently starting a low carb diet but was pleased to see the different options for burgers. I ordered the "THAT just waking up" burger and replaced the bun with a lettuce bed. They are currently only taking takeout orders. The employees were hospitable and patient. They explained the menu and offered suggestions that are popular among the customers. Music was playing and the atmosphere was clean. My food was a little salty for my liking and I wish there was a little more lettuce, however I still enjoyed my meal.

Mike B.

Yelp
My 1st time partaking of this establishment and what I had was so good, so great, and so memorable if I room for another I would. I had the "That ATL CheezeTake" with the Sirloin. I was missing my Philly cheesesteaks and if I was in Philly this would be one of my top 3 spots. Yo! Thank you so much I will be back again and again. Peace! Michael B

Yelp
The food was great and good love it. The service was great Good atmosphere. The only draw back was there is no seating but other then that great place highly recommended it

Yelp
Whoaaaaaa!!! The best burger spot in Jonesboro! You order ya food over the Kiosk and it'll be ready in 15 min.. Great service, if ya don't like salty fries I better tell 'em

Cynthia R.

Yelp
My daughter and I visited this restaurant twice during a 2-day trip to ALT because it was just that good. The food is delicious. We had the Turkey burger, creole lemon fries, chicken Philly & onion rings. Food is made once you order, and it only took like 20 mins. Can't say enough about the flavor, service and secret sauce! The music was great too- R&B hits while you wait was awesome.

Yelp
This is the best burger spot to go when you want to build your own burger! I absolutely love this place, and I've never been disappointed with the food.

Yelp
So I came to visit this place 11/14/23 & it took a very long time. They have these monitors where you can place your own order. The prices are extremely high & it's like a la carte. There are no meals. You have to buy it separately. So I ordered something called ATL Cheeztake or whatever it's called. I specifically selected what I wanted on it, which was just onions, peppers & I believe mushrooms. No cheese. Anytime I order a Philly or any sandwich i specifically say NO CHEESE or select the option. It was over a 20 min wait. They still put cheese on my sandwich and when I got my meal the fries were $3.99 for some Cajun fries. There were barely even any fries in the box & I couldn't even eat my sandwich bc it had so much cheese on it. Spent $16 on two items and couldn't enjoy it. I called back and told them the sandwich had cheese the girl told me to come back & they'll remake it. First, I had ppl w me and we already left and were hungry for being out all day. There was no way I could come back. She said she'll let the manager know and she'll give me a call back. No one ever called back. Called again today no answer. Just like yesterday when I tried to call before even going up there there was no one answering. I won't be coming back here. The prices are high & 11.50 for 1 sandwich is crazy to me!

Yelp
The 1st time I ordered for myself and coworkers it was great. 2nd time - I noticed one employee handing lunch rush so I gave benefit of doubt. But coworker was upset food taste different and sweet potato fries were all burnt. This time I placed order on one at 12:24 got there approximately 1240 went in. Same lady from last time at cash register greeted me and asked if I was there for a pick. I was . So I answered "yes, for Abebiii". She said snippy...it's not ready. Did you get a text saying it was ready? I said no (thinking:but, that wasn't your question. I answered the question asked of me) So I left out and waited in the car. Went next door to grab a drink from Dollar General and came back to the car Noticed it was after 1p.", so I went back in I asked 2 ppl when they placed their order as they walked out with their orders . Both had times that were after my order was placed. Got my order for 1 impossible burger exactly 1hour to the letter later than I ordered I'm absolutely positive it was on purpose. I was engaged in a video chat and there was someone else in the store to witness I said nothing to deserve that

Yelp
I've eaten this place several times and Try different burgers with only the same results...deliciousness. The food is cooked to order so be patient as you will enjoy it once it's ready.

Yelp
VISITED MARCH 2020 When I first visited THAT Burger Spot #3 on my own, I was blown away how great my turkey burger (That lunch break special- $7.99) was. Juicy patty, cooked well, flavored well, and the combo (included in the lunch break special) with their creole lemon crinkle fries were ridiculous. I was all set to give this spot 5 stars.....then my girlfriend and I came back a couple days later after I kept going on and on about how great this place was, and sadly the second visit wasn't so great. For our second visit we branched out and got the following: Create your own combo ($10) 6 wings ($5.49) Cranchy crinkles ($2.99) My girlfriend had the lemon pepper wings and the cranchy crinkles. We found that the lemon pepper wings were very salty, very small and this probably isn't the place to get your wings. The cranchy crinkles (ranch seasoning) was more the choice of staff, who said they were the top seller and their personal favorite. Here's the thing...we couldn't taste the ranch seasoning and while the wings were overseasoned, the fries were under seasoned completely. Between both of us we threw more than half of these fries away. My create my own combo was a hamburger, with mushrooms, onions and their secret sauce. I'm not sure if the chef was different this time, but this was a burger pretty close to the one I ordered for my first visit except I had turkey the last time and A-1 sauce. The secret sauce wasn't for me. I didn't like the flavor, and the burger just wasn't cooked as well as the turkey burger was. The creole crinkles were just as delicious as my first visit, and really they were the only consistent thing here (definitely recommended if you like lemon pepper). Located near the intersection of Battle creek road and southlake parkway,That Burger Spot is a small, get it and go place with no tables for dining, but there are a couple of leather couches for waiting. There's speakers almost always playing music pretty loud, so if your ears are sensitive, wait in the car. Staff on both visits were just fine and pretty fast so no issues there. At the end of the day, depending on what day you go, you can get an amazing burger, or just an okay one. For me, i've visited during both of those and so I think 3 stars is pretty fair. When they're on their game though, it's one of the better burgers i've had so when you visit, I hope it's a great experience!

Yelp
Been going to this place for awhile and they never disappoint. Yes there will be a wait for your order but it's always fresh and always prepared correctly. The fact that you can get unlimited amount of toppings with no extra charge (unless extra extra) is unheard of now of days. I will always support this burger joint because I know what it's worth it.
google avatar

Meeka D.

Yelp
It was tasty & very flavorful. I had a double bacon burger ONG even when I ate it cold it was good. Fries very flavorful. Price tag a lil steep for me but will splurge again there soon!

Jaycob M.

Yelp
Good food & great service!! Would definitely come back. Would recommend. Affordable as well

Yelp
Yes, yes and yes! Wonderful burger spot that offers a variety of burgers and fries any way you want to have it. Have eaten here countless times, and have had both the turkey and beef burgers with the lemon crinkle fries (My teenage daughter loves these), the sweet potato fries (Need some work), and the onion rings (Good, but have had better from the frozen section at the grocers). Overall, the burgers and wings rock! The sides cannot detract from this fact. Must try it when you are craving a burger of any type (Including salmon and shrimp). Well worth going out of your way to get it.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Burgers and fries are always fresh! Expect to wait! Fast food type of set up and we always order to-go. The cashier is always quick getting orders in quickly. Best burger on the southside!
google avatar

Yolanda G.

Yelp
Food is a La cart menu but excellent quality ingredientss & choice selections from veggie to beef burger
google avatar

Tiara T.

Yelp
So amazing!!!!! I wish I had pictures but I order from them often and the food is always AMAZING. Looking for a good messy, and delicious burger?? This is the spot!!
google avatar

Janice C.

Yelp
Best burgers in town I tried it it is so good especially the turkey burgers you can't tell the difference
google avatar

Regina G.

Yelp
On May 25, 2022 I ordered a chicken philly/lemon pepper wings. First the Philly: It really wasn't that bad. The bread was a little soggy and the meat had a lit kick (spicyness)to it (which I didn't like). Now the wings: They were dry (the skin/meat). The skin was where the seasoning was at, not on the meat itself, which was dry. We were considering go back to try the turkey burger but not sure that we will at this point

Cierra H.

Yelp
Reviews seemed promising, so we decided to try. Walked in, we greeted the employees. Yes, you read that right. Ordered at the kiosk no problem and was told that we'd receive a text. We waited over 30 minutes to receive our food. Ordered at 5:15p and received our food at 5:50p. Seems like people were being trained and that's fine but interact with your customers to reassure them that their food is coming without making them feel like a nuisance.
google avatar

Ngann G.

Yelp
I haven't got my order yet.. I just want to say we waited over an HOUR for 2 burgers. I get that they are "backed up and short staffed" but I think they could've given us a heads up about how long it would take. SMH.. literally writing this as we wait for our two burgers.. I really hope these burgers are worth the long wait. Sadly, I don't think I'll be back Update: burger would have been GOOD If they had everything I asked for..They only gave me a slice of tomato and some onions. When I asked for lettuce, onions, grilled onions/mushrooms . No further comment, such a disappointment

Kevin M.

Yelp
Burgers were delicious and filling. Build your own selections are great reasons to visit this place. The options for gluten free turkey burger or chicken invites even those that are more selective. The cajun seasoning on the fries are a great pairing.
google avatar

Yelp
I tried this spot the first time off of curiosity and boy oh boyyyyy did it not disappoint. I ordered three things for my family 1. That impossible ATL 2. That Jive Turkey & 3. THAT 808 . My mom had #1 and said it made her mouth water it tasted so good, just like a cheesesteak. She had called me to double check that it wasn't meat. I had #2 and boy when I tell you I have NEVER had a burger so juicy and good?! The sauce was immaculate. I couldn't believe it. My sister had #3 and she didn't enjoy that she said the cheese tasted like queso but everything else was great. I tried it again with the sweet potato fries and I'm mad I didn't get those the first time. I think you can get anything on the menu and you'll be happy, definitely try this place!

Shana L.

Yelp
I absolutely love to treat myself to these burgers and Philly. They are amazing. Run don't walk and try them.
google avatar

Brianna T.

Yelp
I loved this place, so much to choose from . There was a little bit a wait however it was worth it. Everything was fresh and hot. I got that ATL CHEEZETAKE with Cajun fries super good and a lot of flavor! Definitely coming back .
google avatar

Neginah W.

Yelp
Amazing service! Even better food!! I come back every time Im in the city The place is always nice and clean as well.
google avatar

Alisha C.

Yelp
This is a nice spot. Ordered online and pick up was fast. This is probably the best Turkey burger I've ever had. All of the flavors blended well. I will be going again. For you "dine in's" the Burger Spot in Fayetteville was a cool spot. For Marvel fans the decor was on point and the music and vibes were a plus.

Mahauganee S.

Yelp
It was our first time successfully catching this soot. I ordered the chicken philly with regular crinkle fries (although the cashier tried REALLY hard to talk me out of just getting regular fires) and my husband customized a burger with the lemon pepper crinkle fries. Here were the positives: the food was well-seasoned and fresh off the grill, the wait was reasonable, the cashier was engaging and full of suggestions Now, the issues: 1. the custom burger order didn't come out properly due to instructions not being keyed properly. He wanted some things in the side, but everything was on the burger. Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until we were gone and finally able to sit still to eat. 2. My fries were missing. I was really sad to learn we paid $3 for fries I didn't get. 3. The philly fell apart immediately. Only 7-10 minutes elapsed between us being handed the food and us starting to eat, but the juices from the filling in my sandwich caused it to break in the middle. Truly, it should have been served with plastic ware to be able to eat the filling which was sitting in the bottom of the box rather than in the bread I was holding. 4. The prices were a little high for the amount of food. I wish I'd taken a picture of my husband's tiny little box of fries. We definitely could have eaten somewhere comparable for less money and had a more filling meal. Despite the negative points, we would try this place again, BUT we would carefully review our order with the cashier and triple check it before heading out.
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
I was interested in hitting this place up before Covid and I finally got the chance (brought the husband too). Totally worth the wait! The staff is nice, wear masks and do takeout only (I'm not sure about delivery). The better parts of this place for me are the vegetarian and vegan choices and the fact that I can customize my burger. The best part though, and really the only part that matters, is that the food is delicious! It's just an awesome place for anyone who loves a burger and offers lots of options. These burgers fill your hands, your belly and your taste buds with satisfaction. We shall return.

Zaire J.

Yelp
BEST BURGER AND FRIES My family and I tried this place on vacation and this was by far the most delicious burger I have tried in a looong time. The sweet potato fries, Cajun fries, onion rings, AND cranchy fries were 15/10. My burger was going in less than 10 minutes and most importantly it wasn't expensive at all! Would definitely come here again !

S.N M.

Yelp
The menu is a little weird you have to order fries secretly from the burgers but Burger and fries are pretty good
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
After running through Jonesboro looking for cars, I thought let me see what we can eat over here that we don't have by the house. And duh, yeah we want to try a new burger spot. Looking at the pictures, I got excited because I like my burger to look a little sloppy and if its packaged in some kind of foil... even better. So my husband created his own burger and I got That Long Way and opted for turkey after reading someone's review. For my side I got the Cajun crinkle fries. The highlight of the meal were the fries. Very tasty. They didn't even make it home... except the 5 that escaped to the bottom of the bag. Now the burger... eh. It met the sloppy criteria. Presentation was on point, but it seemed like it was missing flavor. I thought maybe it was just my turkey burger but my hubby said the same about his. Maybe we will try it again later and get a different result.

Beatrice M.

Yelp
I'll definitely be back. The burger was what I expected and some. I had to post a pick to my blog on Snapchat.
google avatar

Clay B.

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked for about a year now and finally got the opportunity to give it a try. Wait time wasn't as bad based on the reviews. So the burger: not what I expected or maybe my expecations we're simply too high. It was decent, but definitely not worth the drive. The cheese had a weired taste for me. I order "The Long Way" minus onion and mayo and added bacon with a side of cajun fries. The fries we're good and I assure you they had penty of seasoning. I ate 1/2 of the burger due to the fact I just couldn't get over the taste of the cheese, let alone it wasn't fully melted. Worth a try if in the area so you decide for yourself.

Yelp
Today my coworker and I wanted to try something new and wanted a burger. I ordered the black bean burger with grilled mushrooms, pickles, onions, fried egg, mustard, ketchup, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and tomato, sweet potato fries and a chocolate caramel cake. The cake was moist and delicious. For 8.00 you can load your burger. For about 3.00 add fries and a drink. You get more than what's it worth. I'm full and only ate a little over a half. Great customer service and nice atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside and restaurant sits in a plaza by the dollar general. Parking is decent, not in a big shopping plaza. I will be back, delighted with this place.
