VISITED MARCH 2020
When I first visited THAT Burger Spot #3 on my own, I was blown away how great my turkey burger (That lunch break special- $7.99) was. Juicy patty, cooked well, flavored well, and the combo (included in the lunch break special) with their creole lemon crinkle fries were ridiculous.
I was all set to give this spot 5 stars.....then my girlfriend and I came back a couple days later after I kept going on and on about how great this place was, and sadly the second visit wasn't so great.
For our second visit we branched out and got the following:
Create your own combo ($10)
6 wings ($5.49)
Cranchy crinkles ($2.99)
My girlfriend had the lemon pepper wings and the cranchy crinkles. We found that the lemon pepper wings were very salty, very small and this probably isn't the place to get your wings.
The cranchy crinkles (ranch seasoning) was more the choice of staff, who said they were the top seller and their personal favorite. Here's the thing...we couldn't taste the ranch seasoning and while the wings were overseasoned, the fries were under seasoned completely. Between both of us we threw more than half of these fries away.
My create my own combo was a hamburger, with mushrooms, onions and their secret sauce. I'm not sure if the chef was different this time, but this was a burger pretty close to the one I ordered for my first visit except I had turkey the last time and A-1 sauce. The secret sauce wasn't for me. I didn't like the flavor, and the burger just wasn't cooked as well as the turkey burger was.
The creole crinkles were just as delicious as my first visit, and really they were the only consistent thing here (definitely recommended if you like lemon pepper).
Located near the intersection of Battle creek road and southlake parkway,That Burger Spot is a small, get it and go place with no tables for dining, but there are a couple of leather couches for waiting. There's speakers almost always playing music pretty loud, so if your ears are sensitive, wait in the car. Staff on both visits were just fine and pretty fast so no issues there.
At the end of the day, depending on what day you go, you can get an amazing burger, or just an okay one. For me, i've visited during both of those and so I think 3 stars is pretty fair. When they're on their game though, it's one of the better burgers i've had so when you visit, I hope it's a great experience!
