Petoskey’s Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes | Eater Detroit

"Those looking to step back in time — to an era when summer residents arrived by lake steamer and rail — should head to historic Bay View. While many visitors whiz past this historic neighborhood assuming that it’s private, The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant are open to the public. Locals know to grab a seat on the porch, a glass of Michigan wine from the restaurant’s vast selection, and place an order of the parmesan crusted planked whitefish." - Stacey Brugeman

Google
We love this farm to table restaurant and highly recommend it! We wanted to eat a healthy meal, and their Terrace Inn signature salad and roasted beet salad caught our eye. Unfortunately, their menu changed, and those 2 salads were no longer on the menu. So, instead, my husband and I ordered the small plates and shared the buffalo burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil salad, stuffed mushrooms, broccoli with pickled red onions, and a panzanella salad. Everything was delicious, especially the stuffed mushrooms and the broccoli. We were very impressed and did get the healthy meal we wanted!

The vibe and ambience at 1911 Restaurant in Petoskey are absolutely charming, cozy, historic, and full of character. The food was incredible from start to finish, every bite was delicious and beautifully prepared. Service was warm and attentive. A perfect spot for a memorable night out. Highly recommend!

Google
Inside very very loud. Had reserved a patio table but were seated inside. Food and service good and this was a Saturday evening. Thought it was strange that we had to wait 5 minutes for our exact time of reservation to be seated, per the hostess, but another couple that came in with same reservation time was seated right away, and of course, outside on the patio??

Our taste buds are still singing!!! We were looking for a restaurant that would not limit our dining time and offered a varied menu. The whitefish appetizer is a must to kick off the meal. We enjoyed the fixed menu of whitefish served on a plank and sparerib ragu. The hot peach cobbler with ice cream was a great ending to the evening. Charming old hotel and courteous service. Hats off to the chef and staff

Google
What a quaint place. We celebrated our parent's 25th anniversary and this was a perfect place for it. The atmosphere is charming and the views from the deck are fantastic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. We had the wagyu steak, which was cooked perfectly, the pork chops, and the kid's BLT. I recommend getting the three-course meal. It is worth it. They even allowed us to bring a cake to celebrate and cut and served it to us. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would say parking can be tricky, but it is manageable.

Google
1911 Restaurant. A charming dinning room and front porch, al fresco, dinning. Nice menu selections. You can order by course or choose a set fee for a 3 course meal. We loved our dining experience.

Google
We have dined here often and usually before a concert in Bayview. He loves the convenient location and the food is fabulous. We had the pre fixe menu whitefish and chicken schnitzel..

Google
The whitefish is a must! This was such a beautiful experience from start to finish! If you get dessert, make sure to get the crème brûlée!

Yelp
Gorgeous inn with cozy lobby, nice deck seating and beautiful dining room. We had the prix fixe dinner. Due to a large party we're out of filets and scallops. I was really ticked. Thankfully, the situation was recovered. Bread was great. The only thing is they need to use less balsamic for the dipping oil, the her butter was good. They also drenched my husbands caprese salad and my watermelon salad with too much balsamic, they were both still delicious though. I would just order balsamic on the side in future. I had the walleye and my husband had the ribeye. Bomb just delicious. Crème brûlée and the fudge sundae were also very good. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We had dinner outside on the terrace at this vintage hotel in Bay View. There is a prix fixe menu or you can order ala carte. Calleigh was our waitress and she was an excellent server. Every aspect of my dinner was superb. The Terrace Inn salad was very nice, with spring greens, dried cherries, pear slices, toasted pecans, feta cheese, and a light cherry vinaigrette. I chose the Parmesan encrusted planked whitefish with duchess potatoes and a stuffed tomato. It was served hot and was delicious. We shared the creme brûlée for dessert. My friends had rave reviews for the shrimp and scallop dish and the walleye with risotto and asparagus. There are some gluten free items on the menu. Everyone was super friendly. Parking can be tricky as you have to find a space on the street. Make reservations, they are busy! The Terrace Inn is a step back in time with photos, seating arrangements, and antiquities in the lobby, which you walk through to get to the restaurant.

Yelp
It started with the best service that we have had at a restaurant m in a very long time. The two servers on hand were exceptionally nice. The Signature Salad was pretty good, would have loved more of those dried cherries. The plank whitefish.... I can't say enough.... It was amazing. The desert, a apple trifle, just enough of to finish off a very filling dinner. Warm spice cake with bits of apple and caramel sauce. It leaves you wanting MORE! Great place!

Yelp
My wife and I found this restaurant on yelp and it was highly rated so we gave it a try. We weren't disappointed. The service was great from the hostess, servers, bus staff, and chef. Everyone took time to add that personal touch--not just going through the motions. The menu is designed to be one price for 3 course meal including dessert. We both ordered the whitefish which was one of their specialties. It was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife said several times how quaint everything was. Special shout out to Henry--he's one personable, hard working young man!

Yelp
We loved this place! Free tea station, great ambiance and views. Comfortable rooms, and sweet hostess. Breakfast was great, would stay again and recommend!

Yelp
What an amazing and quaint place! We got a Groupon to stay here. We were planning on going out in downtown or the casino but ended up just staying here as we were enjoying ourselves so much. The chowder, Bloody Marys and whitefish dinner were amazing. The included breakfast was made to order and great. We had heard that the place was haunted. The chef, Zach, the bartender Chris, the owner Patty and the groundskeeper Bill took us on tours, sat with us and we're awesome. The waitstaff was awesome. We plan on coming again with extended family in January.

Yelp
This place is hands down the BEST restaurant in Petoskey! The historic hotel that houses the restaurant is beautiful. Very charming & quaint with indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, Sirloin, Pork Chop and Creme Brûlée. Our server, Caleigh was super sweet. The flavor profiles for all the dishes were delish! Wonderful experience. We will definitely dine here again next time we are in the Petoskey area.

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the patio among the treetops. Caesar salad was excellent. Good cioppino and Waygu filet. Good service. Breakfast in the AM was very nice with your choice of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and scones, waffles, yogurt and granola

Yelp
The staff here are SO sweet and helpful. We came here to ski for a few days and read awesome reviews about how safe Terrace Inn felt, both in terms of the inn and restaurant. INN REVIEW: They had some of the most affordable prices in the area, so we booked a few nights. The staff are so kind and welcoming. They suggested local activities and restaurants, offered to help with our luggage, and had a big tea/coffee/hot cocoa station set up for guests. Each night when we'd arrive back, they'd ask if we had a fun day which was super kind. There's a plastic layer between you and the staff at the front desk, and masks were required for both staff and guests. Social distancing was enforced too. Our room was super pink and cute, with a huge bed, little fake fireplace, four windows, a little TV, microwave, and sitting area. They had full cable on the TVs which was a fun way to relax at night. The bed would be benefited if there was a four inch pad on top, as the bed was a little hard, but we slept well nonetheless. We didn't hear anyone through the night and were able to sleep in every day! Breakfast is included (scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit, sweet bread) and they offer to put it in a takeout box for you to eat it in your room. RESTAURANT REVIEW: We loved our experience! Because they have a huge back deck, this is one of the only restaurants in Petoskey that has in-house dining during COVID. During winter, they've added plastic tarps around the back deck, with little openings for fresh air. While it's still a little chilly (bring a coat/hat!), they also have multiple heat lamps and an open fire to keep you warm enough for comfortable dining. The tables are socially distanced and the staff were masked. We ate here twice in a row and I tried the whitefish and filet. Both were absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. The bread was great, they had a local beer selection, and you can't go wrong in ordering. Enjoy!

Yelp
Outstanding food. Excellent Service. A true hidden gem. Don't miss this place! Couldn't have had a better meal.

Yelp
Here is a case of don't judge a book by it's covered. This Inn is pretty much hidden in a neighborhood with very little parking. When you walk up the old creaky wooden stairs you wonder if you've come to the right spot. But fear not, things will get better. The dining room is small, unassuming and no frills. The bar is literally a cut out in the wall with 1 chair. The curtains are old lace and tables are plain Jane white. Again, don't let this fool you. For a Wednesday in October this place was packed. Come before 530pm and dinner is but one get one free. Again, usually that means not great food, nope not here. The food was outstanding. We all did the fixed price option which included salad, entree and dessert. Our salads were fresh and had a delicious cherry vinaigrette. My fiance and I both had the Waygu sirloin and it was tender, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My stepdad Prime Rib was one of the best he's had but my mom's whitefish was the show stopper. The portion was massive and the plating beautiful. The caper sauce that accompanied it was delicious. Creme brulee was amazing for dessert as well. Our server was attentive and engaging. Overall, what an excellent dining experience.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and wonderful food. Excellent experience. Whitefish was incredible.

Yelp
Has to be one of the best meals in Petoskey. Three course meal, but if you don't want all three courses you can just settle for individual items. Not normally into salads, but I had the Caprese salad and it was nothing short of amazing. For my entree I went with the Walleye which had a pretzel crust and I was blown away. Some of the best fish I have had. For desert I went with the lemon trifle. Some might think it is too tart, but I enjoyed it. It tasted like a blueberry lemonade. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Petoskey.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Outstanding food and friendly attentive service. The Pretzel Crusted Walleye is sublime! The Ambiance is Victorian and beautiful.

Lois M.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! Nice wine selection . And the service was great! Can't wait to go back again

Yelp
After Covid interruptions, because of which we had to postpone twice, we had our Michigan Hemingway Society conference here on Oct 7th, 8th and 9th. This was not our first Conference here and previously things have gone very well but this year not so. First of all, they made us put our sign-in table next to the stairway, in back of the hotel check-in line, where it was easily overlooked and, if found, meant people signing in for the conference were bumping into people checking into the hotel. Previously the sign-in table was placed next to the dining room entrance which was far more customer-friendly. But that wasn't the worst of it. After our keynote dinner on Saturday evening, while our keynote speaker, whom we had worked a long time to get, was speaking, the wait staff came around and picked up the water carafes and water glasses saying they couldn't go home until said carafes and glasses were picked up. Say what? We paid for the room and handsomely so. Who cares if the staff want to go home? Of all the arrogance. Then the staff started sorting the tableware right there in the room, creating another distraction for the keynote speaker. And a little after nine PM the events manager started giving hand signals to our Society President to move it along. More unbridled arrogance from servants. They did do a few things right, like having a bartender who actually knew where things were, but not many. Oh, and the buffet breakfast wasn't even warm, much less hot. Nothing worse than cold eggs.

Zeke D.

Yelp
Fantastic food and lovely atmosphere. I had the house salad with many delicious ingredients followed by chicken schnitzel and spatzel then crème brûlée. My wife had beet salad shrimp and scallop pasta and carrot cake. Everything was really good. Price fixe menu also provides good value. The Chef even dropped over to get our reaction to the foot. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Are experienced here was top-shelf! From wonderful drinks can a white fish and duck ending with a great cup of coffee and creme brulee. They have very friendly and wonderful service, with a wonderful warm and welcoming feel, the live classical and jazz guitarist made a wonderful finish to the evening.

Yelp
Loved this place! We were in town for the New Year and neglected to make reservations earlier, luckily Belinda was kind enough to squeeze us in. The food was absolutely fantastic, we had the vodka pasta and planked whitefish. Cocktails were perfect, as was the wine selection. Our waitress was so personable and made the experience that much nicer. The chef came out to check on us after our food was delivered, which was a very nice touch. They kept us all safely spaced keeping covid protocol in mind so that we were comfortable. What a treat, can't wait to come back! Northern Michigan fine dining at its best!

Yelp
My husband and I have been staying at the Terrace Inn for many years and we can't say enough about how wonderful it is. The owners and staff are first class and the hotel is gorgeous . The rooms are all unique and decorated beautifully. Breakfast is included and is always delicious. I would highly recommend the restaurant for dinner as it is excellent. Our only complaint is that the secret is out about this wonderful Inn and we have to book a little further in advance.

Bill A.

Yelp
Wow! I don't give 5 stars often but this place deserved it. The ambiance, food, and service was excellent. The fact that it was off the beaten path in a neighborhood made it even better. We had the tempura shrimp, 3 salads, the whitefish, surf and turf, and 2 desserts. All were fabulous. Drink selection was good as well. I highly recommend making a reservation and not just showing up. We were super lucky because someone didn't show up. Will definitely return and thought prices were very reasonable for the great food and experience.

Yelp
This place has very good food. I'd describe it as gourmet-comfort food. Potato crusted walleye was delicious, as was the lavender creme brule and homemade ice cream. If you eat everything they serve you in the all-inclusive 3 course dinner, you'll have to be rolled out in a wheelbarrow. The only thing I could complain about was their gnat or "fruit fly" problem. Some small flying critters, that didn't seem attracted to either people or fruit, were all over the place. They seemed to be perplexed.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
An atmosphere that's lost in time. Don't miss this place! Had the planked white fish and the signature salad. Pure Michigan at its best.

Yelp
Definitely my favorite meal during our weekend "up north." As an appetizer we got the crab cakes and they were out of this world. I am still thinking about them days later! They came with a cucumber relish, which was perfect. I want other restaurants to call the Terrace to find out the secret! I wanted something light-ish for dinner because the receptionist at the inn spoke so highly of the chocolate mousse, so I wanted to make sure to save room for dessert. I went with the watermelon salad which had goat cheese, candied pecans, microgreens, mint, and balsamic vinaigrette. It was fantastic. The chocolate mousse lived up to the hype--it was DELICIOUS, featuring fresh raspberries and a raspberry sauce. My only regret is getting my own, because it was definitely for two and I felt bad that I couldn't finish it! In addition to great food, the Terrace and 1911 Restaurant offers lots of outdoor dining space and the staff is very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!

C W.

Yelp
The Terrace Inn is a fantastic throwback to a bygone era. This is a traditional Inn, circa 1911 and strives to stay that way. The restaurant is festooned with crystal chandeliers set above a fine polished hardwood dining room. The "terrace" which sits above the BayView campus is an ideal place for a lovely mid-summer outdoor dining experience. You'll likely enjoy some live classical guitar as you dine and be tempted by a menu that regularly highlights dishes your ancestors would have enjoyed during a trip to northern Michigan when steam powered vessels ruled the day. Planked whitefish is their signature dish and for good reason, it's delicious and won't leave you hungry. They feature a very reasonable three course prix fixe menu where you can essentially order anything off their menu. Most wouldn't call the Terrace Inn fancy, but their is a nostalgic elegance to it that might make you walk just a touch slower, breathe a bit deeper and catch a glimpse of what life was like before it was plugged in.

Yelp
Northern Michigan has a lot to offer and the 1911 restaurant should be on the list of those great things! Great service, charming atmosphere and an absolutely delicious meal will leave you happy and making plans to return soon. There aren't many restaurants in the area that offer seasonal specials, but 1911 does! In the winter months, take advantage of their buy one entree get one free deal from 5-6pm. Anything on the menu will blow you away! This restaurant is best suited for adults, but the hotel is very family oriented and even has an entire cabinet full of games that you can play while sitting by the warm fireplace. Sit back and relax at this charming northern Michigan gem!
google avatar

Bill R.

Yelp
Just amazing all around. Five star wine list, wonderful entree selection, and fantastic service. An evening meal on the veranda makes for a special, and memorable evening. Turns an everyday meal into a special occasion anytime.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
We usually head here to sit on the porch and enjoy planked whitefish, a local favorite, and the view of the bay from the porch is so lovely. Sometimes we even enjoy a bit of live music and there is something special about enjoying a place so timeless and yet connected to history. It's perfect for our large extended family and serves our group, ranging in age from 8 to 80. Recently we ordered take out pizza for the first time. Of course, it was delicious and did not disappoint, except there wasn't any left for breakfast the next day!
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I wanted to stay in town and this inn is the perfect place. It is a historic inn & restaurant tucked away in the Bay Area Association. The neighborhood is so quaint and quiet and the location made it easy for us to bike everywhere. Our car stayed parked the entire stay. It is street parking only but we didn't have any trouble finding a spot nearby. Belinda at the front desk, Mo the owner, and the entire wait staff were extremely cordial and accommodating. Their rooms are very charming and the outdoor seating in the restaurant and front porch was so peaceful. Breakfast is included with your overnight stay. The food is great with hearty portions. This place is on my top five list of overnight accomodations that I've ever stayed in the US.

Yelp
I had an amazing meal this week at the Terrace Inn! My friend and I split the crab cakes as an appetizer- they were amazing!! Main dishes ( Parmesan crusted Walleye and planked Whitefish) were wonderful! Service was top- notch and the setting can't be topped.

Yelp
We've lived in the area for 11 years and never tried the Terrace Inn. On a whim, we stopped in on a July Saturday night and were pleased to be seated promptly the century old dining room. Excellent service by Noah, and the food was fantastic. The $37.95 prix fixe menu is a bargain. I had a nice green salad, planked whitefish and creme brûlée. Husband had the walleye. The old dining room is charming.

Yelp
Stayed two nights at this charming, Victorian, historical Inn. The room was cozy, pristine clean, and smelled fresh. Pam at the front desk was very helpful from when I first called to inquire about the room to when we arrived. She was knowledgable about the town and areas near by. Steve, the restaurant manager was very personable, enthusiastic and attentive to our needs. Although we did not dine at the 1911 Restaurant due time constraints many people around town highly recommended that next time we do. The hot, sit down breakfast is included when you stay at the Inn. Terrace Inn & 1911 Restaurant is located in the Bay View Association right across the street from beautiful Bay View Beach, which is a walking distance from downtown Petoskey shopping and lake front. Bay View beach is a good spot to search for the Petoskey stones. Drive up to Charlevoix and visit Young's Troll Houses. Young's works are made mostly of stone, using limestone, fieldstone, and boulders that he found throughout Northern Michigan. The homes are creatively known as Gnome Homes, Mushroom Houses, or Hobbit Houses. Self guided tour map available from the Visitors Center at 109 Mason St. Where to Eat: American Spoon - homemade gelato and outstanding restaurant. Twisted Olive Cafe - Lake Michigan views, breakfast and lunch. Knot Just A Bar - 60 + beer varieties, faux nautical saloon. Palette Bistro - upscale Mediterranean food, stunning views of Little Traverse Bay. Roast and Toast - stop by for sandwiches and coffee.

Yelp
We came to celebrate our anniversary. The GPS took us to the back entrance but we ended up going around the block and found the front entrance with the steps. So pretty! We ate inside and the dining room was beautiful. We chose the prix fixe three meal. Wonderful choices! We started with the Caesar Wedge salad. The dressing was very good, not too strong and their homemade bread was delicious. For our main course, my husband had the Ribeye and I had the pretzel crusted walleye. His steak was very good, flavorful and had a little more fat than expected. The walleye was done just right, not to soft. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and flourless chocolate cake. Amazing and the best part of the meal! Our service was good although it would have been nice to have a little more personal attention. The server seemed not super friendly. The host/owner was very kind and we would definitely celebrate our anniversary here again.

Em S.

Yelp
This place is cute, quaint, quiet, and uniquely historical. Rumors abound that it is even haunted - which is kind of exciting...Although I didn't experience any ghosts (bummer). Anyways - it's within a "block" of the waterfront & you can easily walk down the street to get a nice view. We stayed here in 2019 and there were a few issues with the bedding but I brought them to the attention of the hotel staff and they remedied the problem.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Historic dinning with very good food. We have dined here several times over the last couple of years and just recently we've taken friends with us. The service can be somewhat slow at times but the servers are always pleasant which helps immensely. Entrees tend to lean more old world style especially in the off seasons. A nice selection of chicken, pork, beef and fish are offered. Planked whitefish is one of the House specialty's and it never disappoints. Chicken schnitzel is always a favorite too. Entertainment is provided on the weekends it seems and it's always a nice addition to the historic interesting surroundings. Terrace porch dining is available in the warm weather months which is very nice even when raining as it's mostly covered. Always a nice choice of locally made pies and more for dessert if you have room as portions are fairly generous. For a nice change of pace and something different we recommend trying the historic 1911 restaurant in Bayview.

Ric W.

Yelp
I can't say one bad thing about the restaurant or the Inn. Perfect experience. Great food, great drinks, great hospitality and great ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Upscale, charming, romantic experience on a reasonable budget. The food and drinks at 1911 Restaurant are outstanding. We ate outside and it was outstanding. Clean and cozy room. Celebrating 25th anniversary and the staff added some nice touches to our experience. Also enjoyed the walk down the path to the Bayview private beach area and then a nice walk on the path to the pier and into town. Terrace Inn hit a home run. Thanks!

Yelp
My husband and I came up here in summer of 2016 only could stay one night and before leaving booked a second stay. On our second stay we had a bigger bedroom and just so much enjoy it here. It's quiet and the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend staying here and eating here, the food is 5 star quality. I look forward to our stay again.

Yelp
Unbelievable service. What a great place. We made a mistake on our reservations and Patti, the innkeeper, quickly solved it for us. We ended up with a fantastic room and breakfast was amazing. Best place in the entire area to stay.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and beautiful, and each room was decorated differently. The food was good. The Terrace Inn is a very charming Inn/Bed and Breakfast. Very relaxing and romantic atmosphere. We totally intend to visit again when we return to the area.

Jaclyn B.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay! I absolutely love the Victorian feel. The rooms are cozy and staff is super friendly. Definitely one of my favorite places I have stayed. It is super close to ski resorts and many other activities. Plus the breakfast is really good!

Marc P.

Yelp
This place is a gem! I will give the food 4 stars (really close to a 5 star rating) and I will give the atmosphere 5 stars! Tucked into a neighborhood this restaurant/Inn is a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal. I had the whitefish which was very good (I would prefer they not add cheese to top but that is just me). My wife had a walleye special that was outstanding and the filets were huge! Appetizers were great and the wine list is above average! They had a guitar player that was a nice touch. Try this place when in Petoskey if you are looking for a grat meal in a wonderful atmosphere!
google avatar

Yelp
We originally planned to stay in Charlevois and didn't realize we were booking a room in Petoskey, we were a little disappointed. But our disappointment didn't last long, what a wonderful mistake!!! Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place nestled in the most beautiful neighborhood. The staff gets an A+, I've never stayed anywhere that has had any better. The Inn stays true to its period and that of the neighborhood that surrounds it. Breakfast is amazing and the scones and granola are the best. We originally booked one night, stayed for a second and seriously considered changing our travel plans to stay a third, We cannot wait to go back and visit!!
google avatar

Robb B.

Yelp
First let me start by saying that we booked this room on B&B.com. This is not a B&B in its truest sense other than they do have beds and did serve a morning buffet style breakfast. It is a period correct 'hotel', not a traditional style home with rooms for rent and an owner/ curator serving you home-made yogurt from grandma's own recipe. It's Yoplait for everyone! Nothing to impressive. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The hotel itself was really cool and nested amongst some beautiful old Victorian cottages. So come for the ambience, not the morning grub.
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Such a beautiful historic hotel - very romantic and like walking back in time. When you stay there you can sit on the porch and read and there's always coffee and tea out for guests. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly

Denise K.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Celebrated Thanksgiving in this historical Inn. Perfect...We Have dinner regularly, It never disappoints.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Last night we celebrated a dear friends birthday with 8 people for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal whether it was filet or whitefish or walleye or pasta. Our server was attentive and friendly but the problem was the slow kitchen service which was surprising because there were only three or four other tables seated. Too BAD

The 1911 Restaurant was very good - 5 stars. My wife had the filet, and I had the chicken, as part of the prix fixe menu. The Inn itself was just adequate. We stayed in the Garden Suite. It was large and roomy; there's a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and dishes. The decor looks like it has not changed since the 1950s. Rustic. The bedroom windows open onto the terrace where there is seating for diners, and the curtains are not opaque. This makes for some potentially awkward situations. The WiFi in the Garden Suite was bad. The staff was friendly in trying to address the situation, but it never was. We stayed three nights and never got maid service. Except for the towels, this was not a critical issue, and one of the days we declined the service since they came at 3:30 p.m. and we had just returned to the room from a day out. If one is looking for a quaint, unique place to stay, and realize that many of the modern expectations (WiFi, newer furniture, etc.) will not be met, this may be a good choice.

Yelp
We booked at the last minute and got a very small room with a tiny shower, but the properties in the neighborhood were very cute and charming. Solid American breakfast, biscuits and gravy in the morning that we were there. Very nice staff. About a mile walk to town which was nice with the weather when we were there in August. Slow wifi but it's a BnB!

Yelp
They have the best crab cakes around! They use some special seasoning on the prime rib that is the bomb. The only knock we had was that we had a 6:00 P.M. reservation and they already ran out of asparagus which was the vegetable of the day. Otherwise everything was great!
