Best vegetarian place I've ever been to. Menu is all vegan. The Na'an a Suprema was the best pizza I've ever had. A fun little atmosphere of people, live band playing and a lot of good food options. Will definitely come back here again! It's open until midnight too!

Tonight was my second visit since last year and I was quickly reminded why I loved this place so much. I enjoyed chips and salsa with my SO as a fantastic live band played surrounded by incredible art pieces on the walls. I’m not sure why anyone would be offended, or complain, about the art or the “dark and dingy” vibe of the place. Just a reminder!! Art is here to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed! (The art wasn’t disturbing at all, it was just some nudity and if you can’t handle that then go to the swing set outside of town). The artists are talented, the food came quickly, and the vibe was great. We decided on alcoholic beverages since it was about 9:00pm when we got there and I loved the selection and choices. It was a smaller selection but it didn’t matter because they had something for everyone. The chips and salsa were FRESH! And I loved that they were blue corn chips as well! On another matter, I was pleasantly surprised and thankful to see what this nice place has to offer. Not just food, drink, music, and art. But also protection and safety for others. I saw the previous review about the condoms on the counter. I think it’s extremely reasonable and it helps others live their lives safely. It’s not a “leftist” establishment. It’s a humane establishment. In a country we’re living in right now it’s a pleasure to visit such an open minded establishment that not only supports local artists but also those whos rights and lives are in jeopardy. I will be back, and I can’t wait to try more on the menu!

I’ve been coming here since I was 15 years old. I’m 33 now. This place has always felt like home. I visit every time I come back to town. It’s an amarillo staple and forever apart of my heart. I now feel like a tourist of my own hometown when I come here and the 806 is one of my first stops, always. Many things have changed over the years but this is a place that stays true to its roots. Amazing coffee, drinks, food and staff.

Google
An Amarillo staple for a spot to hang out, meet up or catch some great visual or performance art. Great coffee, drinks and beer/cider options. Outdoor seating available.

Google
A random road trip stop landed me here . This is one of those places you just can’t explain but should experience! Vibes vibes vibes ! Snagged a vegan quinoa tofu bowl , hit the spot . The portions aren’t out of control which I appreciate. 806 has got everything from coffee , tea , local events , bakery , grub & erotic local art !

Google
The coffee is great, the food smells great, and the art and atmosphere really tie it all together. They have pieces of art for sale all over the walls. Each of these is intriguing and unique and, in my opinion, vastly underpriced. Get a drink and add something interesting to your art collection. Support local arts!

Google
I recently moved here from Seattle & 806 Coffee is by far my most preferred option in town. They have a great atmosphere and large selection of local art throughout the restaurant. Always friendly service! The quinoa salad w/ feta or the eggplant hummus sandwich are my favorite meal options so far. Their rotating selection of cold brew or the “Pothead” iced latte are supreme. Extremely reasonable prices for the quality of ingredients in both the coffee and food too :)

Google
One star only because I can’t give zero. Walked in and the person behind the counter was on the phone and it was very clearly a personal call. After a few minutes of waiting we waved and gestured that we would like to order. He very rudely held up one finger implying that we needed to wait for him to finish his phone call so we turned around and walked out. Roaster or palace provides a significantly better product and atmosphere not to mention the customer service is completely out of this world compared to the absolute trash we were shown here. It’s sad they associate such horrible service with the area code of Amarillo.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast on the go and was not at all disappointed. Bagel was delicious. My friend had a croissant sandwich with gouda and said it was phenomenal. I got one of their specialty lattes which was a little on the sweet side (I should have added an extra shot of espresso like I often do with these type of drinks), but the flavors were great. Prices were very reasonable! Definitely a chill vibe with chill barista included. I appreciated the local art and informational pamphlets that take a more progressive approach to things. This place gave off the "we take care of our people" vibe and I'm always more than happy to spend my money at establishments that take care of their employees.

Yelp
Great, real espresso! Food was good too. I had the breakfast sandwich croissant and my husband had the omelette. We both had homemade mini blueberry doughnuts and they were yummy! It's a super fun area of town. The local art on display highlights amazing talent. They are progressive and liberal in a land where that seems to be limited. We liked it and we will be back next time we are passing through Amarillo.

Yelp
Best place in town -- coffee or otherwise. Ive been coming around for the last 5-6 years and the owner and employees have always provided a warm and welcoming environment. I've studied, worked, hung out with friends, participated in the open mic nights, and been on dates here. The people there are very genuine and progressive -- providing a platform to the creatives of Amarillo, and resources to those in need. The best part about The 806 is the culture, but the coffee is amazing too -- try the Black Mamba or Honey Nut Latte, you wont regret it.

Yelp
While in Amarillo on a week day, we were looking for a place to grab a drink after dinner. Not a ton of options later at night but The 806 Coffee + Lounge were open. We parked on the street right outside of this bar and coffee shop and made our way in. We caught a few minutes of the end of some live music. Too bad we weren't there a little earlier. 806 Coffee has a bit of a hipster feel. Outside of coffee, they have a limited selection of beer in cans/bottles. I went with one and we chilled on a couch before making our way out. One of the highlights: they have a vinyl as the register . . . once you see it, you'll know what I mean.

Yelp
The 806 Coffee + Lounge! The first time I ever had it, I was rushing to get the kids to school and get to work. I stopped here and grabbed a breakfast taco and ate it while in my rush-but-SO GOOD! I still tell myself that I need to come more often for breakfast. The toppings to choose from are just right up my alley. Fresh, flavorful and different than your usual breakfast taco from here. Today, I went in and had their chili! Guys, this was SO DELICIOUS! So full of flavor and just a great bowl of chili. Plus, it has beans, which just already adds points when I'm looking for a good chili. I was able to take some home as the bowl was a pretty decent size for my late dinner! PLUS, this was Vegan and I promise you couldn't even tell! 10/10. The girl taking my order was very sweet and prompt.

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Great vegan options, cool baristas and even cooler music. I highly recommend the chili and/or chai on a cold day

Amber M.

Yelp
I was looking for a coffee shop while in the downtown area and only could find this one. I wish I would have found another place. I had my young daughter with me and when we walked in, it smelled dirty. As we walked away after ordering coffee, we saw what appeared to be a satanic shrine. It immediately made us uncomfortable. This is definitely not a place I will be visiting again. The coffee wasn't great either.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
If you want to start your day with really dark energy go here. I can't fault them for the dark, goth, death themes and heavy metal as I thought I might appreciate the unique vibe. However, the workers have stingy and depressed energy. You do not feel welcome. After ordering drinks (mine with syrup) and two meals, I needed a bit more syrup in my drink. When I approached the owner guy and asked for syrup when he had a moment, he questioned me as to whether or not I really paid for a drink with syrup - like I wanted to be questioned about my integrity in front of other customers. Even after thanking the counter gal for making a good breakfast taco, it didn't seem received. If you like soulless individuals serving you, it's the place for you!!!

Yelp
Love the service and the ambience, great coffee, eats, and drinks. The decore is unique and there's always new art displays from local artists.
google avatar

Yelp
Drip coffee was very good. We bought a pound of beans to go with us. Also tried the breakfast sandwich and omelette- both excellent. Dog friendly patio out front also.
google avatar

Yelp
The coffee is really really good and breakfast taco is great but the service seemed like they really didn't want to be there and very dark/uninviting environment. The decor is nice but the lighting is almost more like a hole in the wall bar. I'm sure they must have bad experiences but a woman came in needing to use the restroom and they gave her a hard time saying she needed to order first. She had to argue with the staff and indicate she was going to buy a coffee but needed to use the restroom really bad. I was just shocked how aggressive the staff were about someone being polite and asking nicely.

Yelp
100% best coffee in Amarillo! Thank you for having hemp milk lattes Very vegan friendly and wish we had the chance to try their food. Huge variety of types of drinks, from classic/basic to some unique ones, like the Soy-lent green, which my husband says was like a non-frozen milkshake. Great social distancing practices with many educational signs and notices. I will say that I noticed several negative reviews about the decor and art inside. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, as it was well-decorated and had unique items for sale, like pretty vegan soaps. Employees are very friendly and knowledgeable about the craft beers for sale. See you next time we are in town!

Yelp
This place is a great coffee place to chill and eat. I've never had a problem with anything here throughout the 3 years of getting it every so often. Also, warning, its a coffee shop that supports artists. Not every public place needs to be family appropriate for booger eating toddlers... There are plenty of other places you can go if you don't like nude art or people not catering to your rude/dumb attitudes. Anyways, I suggest the jalapeño bagle and the french sodas! :)
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee and very different atmosphere- very "hippie" or "beat Nick" kind of place but pretty cool. On the famous Route 66 in Amarillo- worth a try!! We'll be back.

Yelp
We stopped in Amarillo during a road trip and needed a breakfast and coffee place. Coffee and breakfast were delicious and the service was good. I had the drip coffee and breakfast sandwich, both great. Salsa is first-rate. Since we had children with us, I would have appreciated knowing that the coffee drink names and some of the decor are R-rated. My 10-year-old nephew told us all about the sex scene in the men's restroom and my teen daughter commented on the bowl of condoms on the main counter. Had I known all that, I would have made a different choice for this family breakfast. Review reflects entire experience - food and coffee alone would have been 5 stars.

Yelp
Stopped in on a road trip from Amarillo to Colorado Springs. Cute family-owned and operated store/shop in an otherwise unremarkable town. They roast their own coffee; we bought a bag for a coffee aficionado in the fam. We also ordered a double expresso and a breve. I was super excited to see that they had non-dairy milks! Ordered the breve with soymilk; it was super smooth and foamy. Service was great. The only drawback? No functioning bathroom, but one can be had at the laundromat across the street. We did not check that out.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
Small outdoor patio space for pups. We got the starfu**er and the 007 and loved both of them. 007 is definitely more our style
google avatar

Yelp
Good coffee and food. They chill ppl. Their restroom was so clean. Art is dope. Get the espresso macchiato with caramel

Yelp
I wanted some iced coffee and this was on historic Route 66 and closer than Starbucks, so I decided to give it a try. I asked the barista what she recommended. After hearing what drinks I usually liked she recommended the "Pot Head." From the menu: "Our rich, iced, and spiced blend of espresso, half-n-half, hemp milk, and other top secret flavors" It was fabulous!!! I liked it so much I came back 2 hours later for another one. Of course, I'm hoping when I turn in my receipts for my "per diem" my supervisor does not freak out! 2 Pot Heads in one day, LOL!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! I love the artistic atmosphere I love the variety of spice in the place I didn't try the food come up my friend and said it was good The drinks were interesting, I would try something different next time I imagine the music/art shows are pretty fun there. Overall I love the ambience/atmosphere more than anything. Definitely a rockabilly feel in my book.
google avatar

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, there is an incredibly graphic painting of a man and his very adequate penis, flopped over his own leg. Now listen, I appreciate art and have no issue with nudity but this piece is nothing but grotesque and out of line. On top of that, the service was very poor.
google avatar

Darcy L.

Yelp
Wanted to try due to all the reviews. Let me preface by saying I'm not a starbucks fan.. I love most of the random little coffee shops. Not this one.. Sadly, it was the worst chai and latte I have ever had...I REALLY wished I would have liked it... coffee tasted burnt and the chai/apple cider was just hot water with a light apple taste. Very sad, had high Hope's. It was horrible and a complete waste of money. Avoid.

Yelp
Here is a tip: skip this spot. As a customer you should never feel like you're a burden, since you (the customer) is essentially keeping your business afloat. We read reviews of their vegan chili but upon visiting only found a pretentious owner who made the entire experience uncomfortable. Decided to skip this spot after our experience with the owner attempting to understand his complicated menu. Even if their food was the best in the world, people remember how you made them feel the most, and we didn't feel good about our interaction whatsoever. But don't take our word for it, you can read the owner's responses to other negative reviews here on Yelp as proof of his demeanor and character.

Yelp
Traveling I-40 late, looking for a caffeinated pit stop. The 806 was open, so we stopped. In addition to caffeine, they serve beer and wine. And much to our surprise, one option was COOP DNR. First time I've spotted it outside of Oklahoma, butnit was a red letter day to support a local OKC brewery in Texas. Hubs got a Triple White Chocolate Mocha with Mandarin Orange and the e sit a brownie and blueberry muffin shaped like a donut. Overall, it was. positive experience and I expect we will return when we pass fhia way again.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Super chill vibe. Great place to hang with friends or do some some work on your laptop. Cordial staff make great drinks and the food fabulous. Sit back with your drink and the staff will bring your plate out to you. Awesome service! Swing by on the old Route 66 for good vibes, drinks, and service!

Yelp
The coffee was really tasty. I had a double shot americano and tried some of an Irish cream latte. The brunch was homemade and delicious. The staff was super attentive and made sure to let us know that our food was being prepared from scratch.
google avatar

Yelp
What can I say? Every city needs an amazing place like this, not just for coffee, food, art or music but as a MEETING PLACE. Juan the cool dude behind the counter was friendly and helpful in providing info on Amarillo. the coffee was excellent. Kudos to everyone who supports local community spots like this. five stars!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
The token hipster destination found in most towns, and that's nothing short to complain about. Super chill and friendly service, and some mean iced lattes to get you back into the game. Amarillo acts as a reststop of sorts for bands passing through Route 66, oftentimes for low-key intimate performances. Head to the 806 on most weeknights for some tight jam sessions, and make sure to tip the musicians generously.
google avatar

Geoffrey C.

Yelp
I was not expecting a coffee shop place like this in Amarillo. It looks pretty run down, hipster, and chill. Definitely a type of place you would see in a hippie part of town. They have an interesting selection, whether it's the flavors or name. The Spyder is pretty solid. It's pretty much a chai and apple cider all rolled into one. I would not recommend the whipped cream since it is already pretty sweet.
google avatar

Rebeca M.

Yelp
Chai tea latte was very refreshing. I also had the quinoa salad and cheese nachos. Very yummy and small meal to continue driving. The service was quick and friendly.

Jösh T.

Yelp
Coffee and breakfast were amazing. Plenty of options when it comes to their coffee menu and overall a super chill place to hangout.

Yelp
Where do I begin? The 806 is not your average everyday experience. The artwork, the music, the beverages and the subtle smell of cigarette smoke take you for a wild ride. As you contemplate the drink you will buy, you can rest your eyes on a large painting of an accurately portrayed male body part. The other art rotates frequently giving local artists a platform to showcase their work. You walk in hearing sweet sweet death metal that can instantly change to hard rap or even instrumental. It's a different tune every noon and I have never found myself disliking the music. Next, the drinks. They have a wide range of sweet sips and I find myself conflicted every time I visit on what I will pick that day. There is a drink for every single personality. My friend gets the pot head, I am more of a fan of the 007. That should tell you everything you need to know. Also the hummus is *chef's kiss*. Lastly, the atmosphere. I love nothing more than to sit on the patio and be encompassed by all 6th street has to offer. The homeless population nearby is the cherry on top of the whole experience and they are nothing but inviting.
google avatar

R D.

Yelp
I dont need an example on how to give reviews, YELP! Haha, anyway, this place is amazing...from the drinks, food, staff, environment!!! Absolutely adore the art shows (local art hangs for a month at a time) and love the bands that play here! This is NOT your typical Amarillo or corporate coffee shop...and THAT MAKES ME HAPPY!! My favorite place to chill. Try any of the teas, chais, beers, house coffee, kac...brunch, vegetarian chili, bagel pizzas, etc! -rindoll

Yelp
This was an amazing find in Amarillo. Driving through, I needed some coffee and food. The gentleman behind the counter was gracious. I ordered coffee and quinoa salad. I don't normally favor quinoa but this was about the best salad in the universe. It definitely hit the spot! The hummus is also very good. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared. The only change I would make is to disallow smoking in the outside room, as it seeps into the restaurant area. I appreciate the care taken to enforce the mask policy and will stop back by when in the area.

Yelp
Best place to get a coffee or a beer in a funky, cool environment in Amarillo. All the cool people in Amarillo know this is the place to be. Art is always changing and interesting, live music fairly often and great service. Down on 6th street, it is a little off the beaten path, but worth the drive for a cool place to hang out or work.

Ariel H.

Yelp
Tried this place while passing through Texas. We were looking for vegan/gluten free options. After reading reviews I thought this place would be great. I don't recommend coming here. The atmosphere is dark in every sense of the word. Super negative energy as soon as you walk in. May or may not have something to do with the horror/gore type of art adorning the walls. The food was ok. Didn't have a ton of options but I guess that's expected at a coffee shop. Bone-us: semi erect nude man painting next to the sofa. TLDR: Was not the right place for us but if you like perversions and death you will feel at home. Definitely saged ourselves when we got back to the car.
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
I used to come here at least once a week to study. My experiences here were always good. I tried a few of their drinks, but my favorite one is the Honey Nut Latte. Think of drinking Honey Nut Cheerios. It's good iced or hot. If you order food, they bring it to you. Their messy tacos, bagel pizza, and pizza supremas are my go to. Be careful, it can get addicting. They change the decor often and their bathroom is awesome. There is free wifi, just ask the barista. The tables are a bit small the chairs scrape very loudly. I knocked one over trying to get up without scraping the chair on the floor. There are some steps and I'm really clumsy so I fell up??? the steps and into the wall once. These are more of my problems than theirs, though.
google avatar

Yelp
I found this place using the Happy Cow app and I was delighted to see they offer hemp milk for lattes! I tried the MP3 Mexican pizza flatbread it was delicious! I loved the fun artistic flare to the place too!
google avatar

Jeroam Z.

Yelp
It's my only coffee stop in Amarillo, but I can't believe there could be a better place here. Drinking a starfocker and eating the quesadilla. I love it when I can have a great latte without a ton of sugar. I have a LONG drive and this was so worth the stop! Thanks again Yelp!

Yelp
I had searched Yelp for some vegetarian friendly places to stop for lunch along our route, and this place seemed like an easy stop not far off the highway (and was also right next to a gelato shop). We arrived around one in the afternoon (or maybe it was two, we might not have changed the clock yet). We easily found street parking right out front. Other reviewers have mentioned the odd smell when you walk in, and we certainly experienced that. The order counter is not clearly visible when you first walk in, which was briefly confusing. We ordered the edamame hummus, the tabouli salad, and a green tea chai, which came to just about $14. The hummus was a bit spicy, so my sister ended up eating most of it. The tabouli salad had a good portion of red onions, and was also served with pita. They do charge 25c if you want a plastic cup for water. The decor of the little alcove we sat in was pretty neat - a big round mirror with a half moon, a lamp fashioned from an old coffee pump pot, and another from a stack of old books, pictures of astronomers, and a big bookcase of books and board games. Very neat little place worth checking out if you're passing through Amarillo.
google avatar

Alicia H.

Yelp
Funky little coffee shop on 6th street! The place is decorated with interesting artwork, the staff is friendly, and the drinks are delicious - the hot chocolate is my favorite. The 806 offers a small selection of beers, a full menu of coffee, tea, and other craft beverages, and they have a small selection of foods as well. We always liked this place to stop and study, or to just hang out with friends.

Yelp
Best coffee EVER!! I buy it by the pound. The owner and staff are very kind and informative about their food and coffee's. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Simply fantastic. This is exactly the kind of coffee house I would run. Eclectic. Tasty. Awesome.
google avatar

Lacey L.

Yelp
Great local coffee shop! I had the KAC iced, so so good. I drank it so fast, I regret not going back for a 2nd drink before I hit the highway. The barista would not divulge the secret ingredient, which I can only assume is magic. Also had a sun dried tomato bagel, nice flavor to it. Yum.

Maria D.

Yelp
The perfect little coffee shop. The barista was so sweet and not only recommended an amazing latte but was able to give me outstanding recommendations for things to do in the area. Many different coffee, tea and non dairy options available!

Yelp
Great prices & even better food. DELICIOUS!!!! Great service. Server was fast and friendly. I travel a lot and will be recomending this place to everyone.

Yelp
Unreal the terrible service we experienced here the other day. We were passing through Amarillo and were looking for a good place to grab coffee and a bite. Preferably vegan-friendly. This place seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately, things quickly slid downhill. There were 3 people waiting for drinks. One person had ordered 2 breakfast tacos as well. The guy behind the counter actively dissuaded us from ordering any food. Once my friend ordered and paid for a pastry and iced mocha, instead of asking me what I wanted (since I was the only other customer in the place), I was left to stand there while he filled everyone else's orders. No worries mostly, except that I literally (and i'm using that in the correct term) stood there for 10-15 MINUTES being ignored by not only the guy behind the counter, but by the other employee who didn't seem to be doing much of anything but apologizing to counter-guy. No excuses, no apologies, he finally walks up to me (still hasn't made my friend's drink yet, btw). I order a tea and croissant. The iced tea is ready quickly, yet the croissant takes a good 10 more minutes, as another line has been forming while we've waited. AMAZINGLY, the local guy behind me has his coffee in his hand and is out the door before counter-guy even begins making my friend's mocha (it's been well over 20 minutes at this point. In the end, her coffee order is wrong, I have to grab my own to-go cup, I'm served the worst, most rock-hard croissant I've ever had. I spit it out, and since there was no trash can anywhere I just left it on the table. I cannot see how this place is so popular in the reviews. Their "breakfast tacos" are $5, and are basically eggs mixed with whatever "toppings" and baked then plopped onto a room temp tortilla with some salsa and a handful of chips. When I saw that, I was glad I didn't order anything else. If you have any doubts about the rudeness of the staff, just read the owner comments for any negative review here. They're practically hostile. I thought it'd be some country-style douchiness that'd make me decide never to return to Amarillo, but instead it was the rudest hipster coffeehouse service I've ever experienced.
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
The only redeeming quality about this place was the actual food. But even though the food was good I would never return to this place for any reason. Nude photography was plastered on every wall attempting to be "art." The woman working while we were there was unnecessarily rude to my wife when she had her feet slightly propped on the edge of a coffee table. All situations can be handled with manners but none were used in this scenario when she basically scolded my wife like a child. We were excited to actually find a place with vegan and vegetarian options; however, while we were there it just felt like a bunch of people were stuck up their own asses trying to give the impression that they were actually a professional business. It's not exactly easy trying to eat a bagel when you're having to stare at pictures of nude women and men's genitalia the whole time, but I can handle seeing that material being that I'm a grown man. I would just hate for someone to bring their kids or teenager in this place without knowing the environment. Not appropriate for all ages.
