"Longtime Williamsburg neighborhood hangout the Abbey is closing today. It was a fixture in NYC’s LGBTQ scene, dim and divey, with happy hour and free popcorn." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

Dive bar (not in a bad way). Chill music, old fashioned torn up bar chairs, decent prices esp at happy hour.

Used to be cool as hell with the old staff. Now, it's alright. $7 for a high life and well shot is too much though. Should at least be a 16 oz pint. Pool table, and popcorn if they remember to make it. Not bad. Bathrooms roughest I've ever seen though. Hold your nose....

This place is a dive bar dream. Tons of charm and an incurable unbeatable cheeky atmosphere. Never had a bad time or at bad moment in this bar ever. Owner is a saint! One of my absolute favourite places in all of NYC! Without a doubt!

This bar. First time was two years ago. My best friend met his partner here, and I was there for it. Good times, photo booth pics, and free popcorn. Can't hate on that! Fast forward two years. Came for a 'nightcap' before an early flight... a nightcap to my nightcap. Some random drunk guy would not leave me alone. Making really demented comments in my ear, and the bartender must have seen my eyes beg for help. He asked if he was bothering me. I said yes. and wham, that really creepy guy was kicked out. Good bar, and even better bartenders. You bet this is in my staple of places in NY to get wasted.

Mark, the finest bartender on the planet, keeps things running smoothly here. Good beers, fine pours of liquor, and movies on Sundays. Pool table in the back. A good refuge from whatever bizarre hologram the rest of Williamsburg has become these days.

Friendly bartenders, chill environment, inexpensive drinks, popcorn - what's there not to like? There's also usually two different movies playing, one at the bar and one near the pool table. Love this spot.

Rat infestation and smells like dead bodies.. Bouncers are rude to patrons and liquor is rundown. Horrible environment in general. I used tro be a regular here befoe management changes all the bartenders. I wouldn't be surprised if this place is a front

Dead bar vibes, even on a weekend. Cheap beer prices and friendly staff. Come here if you want to go to a place like your living room, but darker and louder music. They also lost my credit card and never called me back about it. So obviously I'm never coming back.
