The Agave Experience

This was our second time taking the Agave Experience tour, and as with the first time, it did not disappoint. This is a small locally owned company operated by tour guides with masters degrees in tequila distilling. They are not only well educated but care about the healthy continuation of the agave plants and the environment. They only tour 'honest' distilleries that care for the people and the land. The distilleries you will go to are natural, small production operated in the traditional fashion. Everything is 100% natural. No tequila additives or mass commercial marketing. If you want a real tequila tour and are truly interested in the history and process of tequila making, then this is your tour. We are planning a third tour with them in the next year.

The Agave Experience with Pedro and Giancarlo was the single most diverse and fun tour I've been on. The day started out with a large and air conditioned van that picked us up directly from our AirBnB. They offered us chilled waters and beers as we made our way to breakfast for authentic gorditas and tacos. They insisted we start the day on a full stomach before the first agave farm, which was a great suggestion. Both of them were highly educated and passionate about the craft of tequila making. They made sure to explain every step of the process in a fun and engaging way. The two are masters educated and distillers themselves, even contributing a bottle of their own Sabor Del Sol tequila, so good, so smooth. The tour not only included two tequila distilleries but also took advantage of it being Mexican Independence Day. Pedro and Giancarlo thought it would be a fun and different experience for us to take advantage of a local rodeo. Yes, a rodeo on a tequila tour. After working up quite the appetite, Pedro and Giancarlo suggested a phenomenal local restaurant in Amatitán la Orillita, which was delicious. Since Pedro and Giancarlo are locals they knew of Amatiteña, a super hip night club in the middle of an agave field. The whole tour lasted the entire day and went into the wee hours of the night. A truly amazing experience! Our guides Juan Carlo and Pedro were very generous, helpful and knowledgeable throughout our tour. It really made for a special experience for our group of 10 people! I would highly recommend them👍

The Agave Experience was amazing! The staff was so friendly, so polite, and so much fun!! By the end they were pretty much apart of our group. We had the time of our lives while learning the history and process of making tequila. Food was provided and so delicious! There is also a photographer that’s apart of the staff who offers to take photos of you and Polaroids for $10 (soooo worth it because I’m horrible at taking photos on vacations so this was great and now we have professional instagram worthy photos to remember our experience.) 10/10 highly recommend The Agave Experience!

Booked The Agave Experience for two people last-minute, and they were able to accommodate us. The driver picked us up at our Airbnb. We were taken to a taco spot on our way to the distillery for breakfast, and it was delicious. The tequila tasting was at Cava de Oro, which was a really great and informative experience. The tequila is really great, too. The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The setting for the second stop at the cantaritos was really beautiful. The food in Tequila was delicious, as well. Would recommend to anyone trying to get a little bit of the different aspects of Tequila country.

Our group of four had a great time on this all day excursion. Jessy was our fantastic tequila master and tour guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience a true pleasure. She gave us a thorough tour of the distillery and guided us through pairing different tequilas with a variety of food items. We also had two excellent meals, enjoyed snacks and a beverage overlooking immense fields of agave, and spent time roaming around the heart of Tequila. The all-inclusive nature of the tour made for a very relaxing and comfortable experience. We highly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour. They took us last minute for a shorter tour and they picked us up, went to 2 distilleries, and a restaurant, all included in price. Andrea was very informative and nice. Would definitely do it again!!!

Rodrigo gave us the tour of a lifetime! We got the most amazing tour of the Tequila area and the smaller distilleries. It was more than we ever expected it would be. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about Tequila and the history behind it. Thank you so much!
