Emma and Daniel have recently taken over this great wee rural pub. Popped in tonight on a Thursday evening and wasn’t disappointed. A nice selection of beers (Cairngorm Brewery features highly) and a really comprehensive menu given how remote this pub is. Food is fab cooked fresh by Emma. Highly recommended - local folks get in and support your pub !!

Been a couple of times now and would highly recommend. Staff are friendly and welcoming, the food looks great and is cooked fresh to order and the atmosphere is lovely. Would recommend going on a Friday as that's music night and the vibes are great

We were looking for something to eat around Tarland. We arrived late and tired at the Airdale. Despite the late hour and the kitchen being closed, our host reopened it for us and served us a very good meal. On top of that, we spent a great evening with the locals, talking and listening to good music. The cook is very friendly and sings beautifully. (The two French bikers) I highly recommend this place.

Food was lovely, we got steak and ale pie which was enjoyable, the cheese and bacon burger was a little over done. The fries were yummy as the other reviews say. The highlight was the chilli con carne on the nachos it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food took a little while to come out considering we were the only customers but overall a lovely little meal

So glad we found this treasure on our trek! We started with the haggis fritters and ordered 4 different burgers. Outstanding! Whiskey sauce is pure magic. Chips were perfectly crispy and salted. All four of us agreed it was the kind of meal you never want to end. The young couple/owners have made it through their first winter and I’m sure are going to have nothing but success with food and hospitality like tonight! Only wish we were visiting on Friday for live music 🤩

Not a pub as expected but more a working man's club. One story club house type of building, parking available around the back near horses fields for free. Looks a little dated, entry though a porch, great menu options available but the place looked a little unclean, dirty windows, sticky tables and was smokey inside from the kitchens. Good array of drinks available, reasonably priced. More of a locals place than a place to go as a tourist. Felt uncomfortable and out of place as it was clear everyone knew eachother. Originally came in for food as the menu was advertised online but left quickly. Portions looked big. Menu was good but did not try

a small, inconspicuous pub, a quiet family restaurant with tasty, freshly prepared and aesthetically served meals

The pub has recently been taken over and it’s our first visit. The food was fantastic and we will definitely be back. It was lovely just sitting taking in the ambience and chatting to locals. This is a rural pub run by a local couple (not a chain) and it’s great to give them our support.
