Would really love to give a higher review but after living here for two months, there's still issues that need to be resolved and could have been handled much better, with ease. After selecting the apartment, the initial deposit amount I was told was the highest they require. Coming from multiple apartments where I wasn't even required to pay a deposit and my credit only becoming better, this was an immediate red flag. When I asked to withdraw from the agreement due to my concerns, I was told I was not able to when in actuality it was not a legally binding agreement since it was not fully executed and the deposit amount was not written on the agreement I signed. However, I did not need to pull my legal background card as we were able to magically erase that deposit amount and bring it down to where it should have been all along from what I can assume was a clerical error. Move in was fine with exception to a pile of dog poop outside my front door. Noticeable issues in the unit that were to be resolved but took some time to do so. As others have stated in their reviews, maintenance is nearly non-existent. I can only assume they are too busy with valet trash pick-up three times a week (which is a great offering!) to be able to tend to the maintenance issues of tenants. Other complexes I've lived in hire third party companies to do trash pickup, hence the extra fee. Here, we pay the extra fee but they use their own maintenance crew to come pick up our trash. My unit has upgraded appliances and I can't imagine living in a unit without. Air conditioning is ice cold. Laminate wood floors are a great touch. Again, I've been here two months and upon move in noticed one of the knobs on our stove had been sheared completely off. I noted this on my move in inspection and have made multiple requests and complaints through text and phone and there's zero resolution. I've been told for two weeks that the part was ordered and would be installed and am now being ignored so have resorted to posting this review. Not being able to use all of our burners, let alone the two large burners has been a major pain and at the end of the day, two months is long enough for them to fix something after we were told months ago a warranty claim would be filed and it was never done. The grounds are well-maintained. The dumpster for cardboard is always overflowing and upon move-in sat in horrific condition for weeks and weeks until they brought in a massive dumpster and cleaned it up, thankfully. The location could not be better for walking distance to Birkdale. It feels safe and there is ample parking, which is an issue for quite a few communities, no matter where you live. Can't speak about the amenities because I don't use them. I've had issues with unruly children in the neighborhood bullying, getting physical, breaking the dog park gate, ding-dong ditching, and running around upstairs all hours of the night and I will absolutely applaud the office for taking care of these things promptly. Five stars for taking care of serious situations in the community that could escalate. Overall, it's a great place to live but maintenance (as others have already said) is atrocious. I've considered hiring someone on numerous occasions and just resolving the issue myself instead of waiting for them to get around to it since it seems they have no desire.

I can’t say more than enough besides great things about this property. Let me first start off with the leasing consultant Ryleigh she is absolutely amazing! She was kind as soon as i walked through the door, great with kids, and i felt at home before i even applied!! Her communication was great, she was so patient and answered all of my questions. As for the property itself the landscape is beautiful the apartments are updated and look GREAT and it’s in a safe quiet area! I’m so excited to start my journey here! If you’re looking for a nice place that’s quiet and looking to raise a child or children this is your go to! When inquiring ask for Ryleigh you will not be disappointed!!

I can't say enough positive things about these apartments, the office staff and maintenance crew. In particular, Ryleigh and Karini are truly outstanding. I literally cannot remember an apartment office staff that has been so exceptional - and I've had a lot of experience with apartment office staff. They are extremely responsive, always making the fulfillment of my requests a priority. It is rare when my requests are not handled within 24 hours. And when that cannot be done, they tell you the reason. The apartments and facilities are great, too. Really terrific job by Ryleigh, the office manager. It's an absolute pleasure to live here.

These are NOT luxury apartments. There are much better apartments in the immediate area for same or slightly more money. There will likely be a huge rent increase when lease renews (ours was 7%) and pet fee increased from $20 to ---$55--- per month!. They may NOT return your deposit (we're in process of going to small claims court).

Stay away from this place. My unit is unlivable, they have neglected to address the HVAC mold and rust for months. They refuse to end lease or fix the issue. After a heated conversation with Nicole (the manager) they sent texts saying the work order was assigned. I had to vacate the unit due to the conditions. I am not there so I call TDS to stop the Internet service but The Alcove continues to charge for it because "it is in their contract". I am paying $1,928.77 since my first review. This place is a scam and a health hazard. I went today after they went to the unit to turn the heat on (did not fix one thing), Nicole stated "there is no mold". See for yourself in the video and pics I took. The only thing left is legal counsel at this point. This is the worst living situation I have ever been. They took full advantage because I moved from CA and they falsely advise these place as "Luxury". Shame on them!! Zero stars if I could.

I WOULD RATHER MESS UP MY GREAT CREDIT SCORE THAN LIVE HERE!!! I am extremely disappointed by my experience living at Alcove Apartments. As a young tenant who previously resided in the excellent Holy Crest Luxury Apartments, I cannot help but feel let down by the service provided here at Alcove. The management's disregard for my concerns, the accumulation of trash at my door despite paying for trash valet, the month-long delay in repairing the washing machine, and the disrespectful handling of my maintenance requests have all contributed to a highly unsatisfactory living situation. Furthermore, the malfunctioning dishwasher, unpainted holes from previous tenants, and the alarming security issues, including multiple break-ins within the first few weeks of moving in, have added to my frustration. The management's promise to enhance security by changing the locks following the break-ins, only to replace the keys, was not reassuring. The claim of Alcove being a crime-free community was contradicted by a SWAT raid at our neighboring unit, forcing us to evacuate our home. Despite these significant challenges, I have not received any compensation for the problems encountered, leaving me feeling neglected and uncared for as a resident. I hope to see immediate improvements in the management's responsiveness, maintenance services, security measures, and overall commitment to resident well-being. It is crucial that these issues are addressed promptly and effectively to restore faith in the living experience at Alcove Apartments.

I would give zero stars if it were possible. If you want to save your time, protect your mental health, and simply be happy, please do not sign any lease with the Alcove at Birkdale. I started my lease here in June 2023, back when it was still Redcliffe at Kentone Place. At that time, the management company was fantastic. I worked with Chris Colo, Danielle, and Manager Heather, who ran the place as if it were their own business. Unfortunately, things changed when Conner Group bought the building and brought in a new management team. The new team seems uninterested in doing their job. Each time I submit a service request, I have to follow up in person for verification; otherwise, they might forget about it or claim they never saw it. They are too lazy to respond to emails, and when I show up in person to ask why they haven't replied, they say they didn't see the email or were just about to respond, even after 10 days. When I asked their manager, Stephanie, for the owner's contact information to file a complaint about her team, she told me that she is the owner and doesn't care about complaints. Does she realize she's damaging someone's business? When I wanted to sublease the place and move out to avoid further headaches, they refused to let me do so. I found someone who wanted to move in and paid the application fee, yet I was still responsible for the payment until July. I am writing this now because I continue to hear complaints from my former neighbors. I want to protect everyone from making a huge mistake and experiencing a nightmare by signing a lease with the Alcove. Please be cautious with them. While the location is good, there are other places where you can feel at home. FYI I was living at townhouse 8318 Dunmore Dr.

Horrible place to live as long as The Connor Group owns it. They charge excessive fees above and beyond the rent, that you are forced to pay even if you don't want or need the service. When Pegasus owned this property my trash fee was $17 a month. TCG charges $75 a month. The appliances are 25 years old and very low end at that. Many units have water damage, mold, broken water heaters etc. This is what they call luxury. If your mental health means anything to you, lease elsewhere. You will be happy you did.

Do NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!! The Connor Group took over in August 2023 and it has went to straight to the pits of h*ll since then. There is absolutely nothing luxurious about this complex. Nothing is upgraded inside the apartments. They only spray painted the outside of the buildings, got new roofs, and messed up the parking lot even more by paving. Even further more they try to harrass you into signing a lease and communicating. We are all adults and nobody should be forced, harassed, or threatened to do anything. Don't take my word for it- look up other reviews and even further more look up their BBB complaints (The Connor Group). They are only "A" rated because the company "responds" to the complaints. Not that they resolved them. Don't be fooled. Corporate does absolutely nothing!!! Do yourself a favor and don't even consider this place.

DO NOT MOVE HERE unless you like mold, unresolved issues, ac units outside so old and loud it's impossible have a full night of sleep, broken dishwasher for months, appliances older than me. Worst place in Lake Norman area to rent. The Connor Group who own these apartments does not care one bit about the residents. The apartments are outdated, mold ridden, broken appliances, old HVAC units that are always breaking down, the water heaters are breaking down, everything is 24 years old. My apartment has flooded 4 times. if something breaks down, you will either need to fix it yourself or do without. They don't care because all they want is your money. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING HERE without doing your homework first. You will regret it if you don't.

Their sales people are not advocates for their residents. do not move here! nothing will ever get fixed and they will not respond to your issues. The maintenance department cannot fix anything. I feel like I own my own home as I fix everything...

This is the luxury at the alcove at birkdale village. Slid in dog yesterday too while trying to go for a walk. Great to see all the money went to the paint and not on thing that should be fixed. Like another trash point or a dog park so there's not poop everywhere.

This is my second review, my washing machine has been broken for two weeks and I have called three times and they told me they just put an order for it today... this is ridiculous this place is nowhere close to luxury and probably won't be, if you wanna be close to birkdale than this is a good place but other than that... the other reviews should explain how this place is for itself and all the 5 star reviews are non descriptive and fake

I lived here for seven years. It was a safe, friendly community that felt like home. Then, in August, 2023 I was called by the new management company who asked for a visit with me. She wanted to discuss renewing my lease, even though the renewal date was January, 2024. Turns out they were increasing my rent by $200 per month. I could not afford that and finally declined after three months of harassing phone calls. They did a lot of upgrading on the outside, but nothing to the inside of the units. The expression "lipstick on anything" from another review comes to mind. The day I moved there were four other moving vans on the same block. Don't be fooled.

What a beautiful property Alcove at Birkdale Village is!! Heather greeted us with a warm welcome as we were looking for an apartment for my husband to live in while working at a new job in the area. We found the apartment to be very clean and updated with all the comforts of home. Heather made our leasing experience smooth and quick as she guided us every step of the way. We are so happy to cal this our new home!! The amenities are outstanding and the property is completely updated!! If you are looking for a gorgeous place to call home you must check this place out!!!
