I recently stayed at the Allegra Hotel in downtown Chicago and was thrilled with its fantastic location! Being right in the heart of the city made it so easy to explore nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops, perfect for anyone looking to experience Chicago’s vibrant energy. The hotel has a lot of potential, and with a few tweaks, it could be even more amazing. For example, the bathrooms could use a bit more privacy, perhaps adding locks or frosted glass to ensure guests feel secure. The rooms and bathrooms felt a bit cozy (small), so optimizing the layout or adding clever storage solutions could make the space feel more comfortable. I also noticed some water spillage from the bathroom, so maybe a quick check on the shower design could help keep things tidy. The car pickup service was a bit delayed during my stay (about an hour), so streamlining the process or providing clearer wait time estimates would be a game-changer for busy travelers. Lastly, I misplaced a water bottle during my stay, so perhaps a designated area for guests’ items could help avoid mix-ups. Overall, the Allegra’s prime location is a huge win, and with these small enhancements, I’m confident it could be an even more exceptional experience. I’d love to return and see these improvements in action, thank you for a memorable stay!

Great hotel. Rooms were fairly large. Design and features of the room was above average. Mini fridge is nice to have. Lobby is very fancy and attractive. Elevators work fine. Check-in was a little slow. Walls seem thin but not that bad, you can hear loud voices but not too much. The view we got wasn’t very good but not too bad. Price is right depending on the circumstances but for what we paid we enjoyed our experience. Recommend

Wanted to love this hotel but one bad thing after another. They have an early check in fee? We showed up, they said our rooms were ready, but it would be $50 to check in at that time. We declined. Then we showed up at 2pm for “free” check in time and it was packed and long lines. Gee wonder why? We were sat late for breakfast the first morning (10:20) and waitress then informed us that the restaurant was closed after we sat for 20 minutes with no service. Overall I will look for another place to stay in the future. Shame because the bartender and bell staff were lovely but it felt like the front desk team couldn’t be bothered with anything.

Best doorman EVER. Mr. Alonso Garcia was AMAZING!!! He greets you when you enter and ask if you need anything and makes sure you are taken care of. Definitely felt like I was home with him around. Very nice. He really does multiple tasks smoothly too. From being outside helping others and walking right in and ready to help customers. He has great customer service. We need more people like him in this industry.

Google
This hotel was extremely beautiful and clean in the inside. I loved the aesthetic and the overall theme that they picked out. Customer service was outstanding and accommodating. It’s also walking distance from the riverwalk, the bean and other tourist attractions. The only thing I would complain about is that our view was a brick wall but we just had the curtain covering it the whole duration.

Google
The whole experience was great but the service provided by the doorman, Alonso Garcia just made my trip! Each time I met him he offered friendly advice, helped with bags and was a wealth of information. I was so impressed when he checked how my activity went when he saw me the next day.|The hotel is beautiful, well located and they make customer experience a true priority. Highly recommend!!

The hotel was lovely. But, the staff was exceptional. Multiple times during my short stay, staff members went out of their way and proactively offered assistance or engaged. They anticipated questions and needs. The experience was appreciated and delightful.

The experience at Allegro Royal Sonesta was wonderful. The staff was friendly and efficient from check-in, making visitors feel welcome. The room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast offered many options, including fresh pastries and fruit. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions. Overall, Allegro Royal Sonesta is highly recommended for anyone visiting Allegro Royal Sonesta.

Yelp
The pros: The hotel is beautiful and close to the theater district. We were in town to see a concert at The Chicago Theater and were able to walk there as it was just a few blocks away. Even in the bitter cold, this was better than worrying about parking at our hotel AND the concert venue. Additionally the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Check out was easy, just drop your key and go. The cons or "not so greats": Parking is a racket, but maybe that's true of any hotel in downtown Chicago. Valet parking is $77 per night, and you have to let the valet staff know 15-20 minutes before you need your car so they have time to go fetch it. We opted to use the self park garage across the street. If you do this, take your ticket to the hotel desk, and they will send you a QR code that allows you in and out privileges for $59 per night. I recommend doing this instead of using the valet parking, as the self park garage is very close. Lastly, there is no breakfast included, just coffee and tea from 6am-10am. As far as the room itself goes, the bed was not the best but also not the worst. I found coffee stains on the sheet that I'm pretty sure were not mine. The bathroom was small. Between me and my teen daughter, we barely had enough room to store our daily toiletries. The lighting in the room and bathroom wasn't great. We were told we had a $10 credit for the snack bar or drink bar each night. When I looked at my statement, the credit was not applied. I called and they did add the $20 credit for the two nights we were there. So just beware you may have to ask for them to add it. We were on the 17th floor, and the rail noise didn't really bother us.

Yelp
My review is based only on a 2 night stay for a business meeting. The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago Loop is ranked #90 in the Best Chicago Hotels based on US News & World Report. This Hotel is central to the Theatre District and downtown attractions. Based on the title of the Hotel, I should imagined that the elevated train (the loop) passes directly in front of the meeting rooms all day approximately 6 minutes are going in both directions. Based on where you are located in the hotel, noise could become an interference with meetings. There was no room service available so I can't comment on that service but the catered breakfast, lunch and dinners were great and there are no complaints. In fact they make homemade potato chips that are amazing. The check in process was easy at 4:15 pm for me and the my service was professional and comforting. I was given a room assignment on the 8th floor. As entered the room smelled stale and Instantly knew what I was walking into. There wasn't much walking as I immediately confronted a chipped old bifold French door that wasn't even with the frame. You have to pay attention at night to avoid injury. The average hotel room size in the United States or Canada is 325 square foot. I would compare the size of my room equivalent to an inside cruise cabin except this room has a tub. My measuring may be off but I would guess that my room was between 170 and 185 square feet. The closet couldn't accommodate my suits hanging straight forward. They were hanging diagonally as the closet was diagonal inside. The mini bathroom was of a European set-up along with bath towels that hang in the shower. Yes, you get wet in the shower and so do your 2 towels. Planning on using those amazing amenities. Well there's no lotion offered, at least in my room. Perhaps it was just an oversight. I can tell you that I accidentally forgot to pack deodorant and panicked. No worries, I went downstairs and I was offered a complimentary miniature deodorant. (Awesome) This made up for my dated mini room but also know that members in my group all had different size rooms at the same rate. Some received rooms with a separate living room, 2 televisions, etc. Must be nice. All in all the lobby was amazing and they had some classy touches related to beverage service in the morning and evening. All the staff have been polite and helpful, so if staying here, just check which room you will be receiving as I had a chance to see several. See Ya Chicago (What an awesome City)

Yelp
One last week I came back from getting food and water for my son. I arrived back at the hotel around 8:30 pm. I walked in BEHIND the security guard. I then arrived on my floor and noticed a short, Caucasian man with a beard that inhabited the room next to mine standing in the hallway. As my keys did not work I had to yell to get my son to open the door for me. We went in the room where I began to talk with my son's father and then there was a knock at the door. The Top Flite security guard was at my door accusing us of yelling and screaming for the past 40 minutes. At this time I reminded her that I walked in the building behind her and was not in the room. She then said she walked down the hall and heard noise from our room. I was on the phone with my son's father and did ask my son where was my phone and when she knocked told him to answer the door. Apparently, the guests in room 1418 said that it sounded like a woman was getting beat every night at 3am in the morning in our room. This is a blatant lie as we are asleep every night at 3am and I'm the only woman in the room and absolutely no one is beating me. They are blatantly lying on my son and myself. The facts were right in front of the security guard. 1.) How can a lady be screaming for the past 40 minutes when, as I walked in behind Melani from outside, I wasn't even in the room? 2.) How can someone be screaming like they are getting beat at 3am when we are both asleep?? 3.) If someone was getting beat at 3am then why not call security then??? I believe this man took racial issue with myself and my son and decided to blatantly lie on us. This has been the worst detractor from an already less than stellar stay. I have paid an exorbitant amount of money for one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever occupied. The last room I stayed in this small was a Red Roof Inn back in the 2000's... My keys work when they get ready. Now the staff has been absolutely amazing with the glaring exception of Top Flite security. They did upgrade my room to move me away from the liars that started this mess but that was not enough compensation for how bad this made me feel. I am livid, hurt, and totally feel violated. Now I'm leery of this member of your staff colluding with my white neighbors to lie on me. And then the computers were down so I couldn't even check out properly. And then there's the same exact breakfast we were served four days in a row.

Yelp
For anyone else who also stayed here when it was a Kimpton Hotel, you may be missing some perks like nightly free wine hour and valet parking. However, much of the service offered at this Allegro still reminded me of the Kimpton brand. Pet friendly. We appreciate that the hotel allows up to 2 pets, but expect to pay a $75 fee. The staff sent up a water bowl and pet bed for use. That was nice. Parking. It was worth it to pay the $49 self park fee for unlimited in and out privileges nearby. If you are unloading your luggage, stop first and drop off your items at the hotel, then have someone in your party park your car. Bar voucher. We appreciated the $15 voucher for use at the bar for food or drink. A nice perk if you have time to use it. Shout out to Lucy and Omar at the bar for being so sweet to us and our pup and for making us feel so welcomed! Free coffee and continental breakfast. What a nice treat to have free fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee in the morning in the lobby. If you prefer something heartier, Starbucks is connected next door. The room we were in was a little small and be careful of the half-doors on the bathroom that opened out as they stuck out in the dark. But the bed was very comfortable for sleeping and had soft sheets and pillows. The staff at the desk and bar were friendly and courteous, and everyone we encountered was helpful. The hotel lobby is beautiful and comfortable for sitting and having a drink by the fireplace. It was a quiet night when we stayed. We would stay here again in the future.

Yelp
This hotel is so glamorous! The check in lobby is full of old Hollywood art decor details that was so pretty. The furniture, art, the bar, the restaurant and even the elevator was sophisticated and the vibes were very cool. I didn't have time to enjoy the bar or restaurant but upon check in I was told that I could enjoy a credit. The room was nice. Tiny but effective bathroom. Tv, safe, fridge. The bed was fine. The location is the biggest selling point since it's so cool to the mag mile.

Yelp
We had a decent stay. Walls are a lil thin. Rooms are SMALL queen room is definitely for 1 person it was difficult with 2 adults. Service however the staff was magnificent. We had already been up for over 24 hours we were able to check in early for a small fee which we seriously appreciated the heck out of. They also have luggage storage which is a huge PLUS after our check out time we had 8 hours to kill before our flight they were able to hold our luggage for those hours until we were ready to head to the airport. Great location, great staff. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully booking a bigger room next time.

Yelp
A bait and switch experience. Amazing lobby. Art deco decor creates such a vibe and gets you excited to get to your room. But the room does not have the same attention to detail. You can feel and hear the metal springs in the bed.... And everything is just a little dingy.... Stained wall paper, nicked frames and dressers..... and to really make you feel homey... chicken wire on the windows

Yelp
We stayed for a week and everyone was so helpful and cheery! Rafael and the lady who worked the very busy bar, Alonzo the sweetest guy out front helping people get into and out of cabs, ubers, etc. I wish I knew the name of our bubbly housekeeper! She was a petite blonde ---our room was 1130--

Yelp
What an amazing stay I had at The Allegro Royal Sonesta! The rooms were so clean, spacious and the ambiance of the hotel is unlike any other. The service I experienced was outstanding. I will definitely be returning next time I visit Chicago.

Carlton W.

Yelp
I stayed at the Allegro Royal Sonesta 7-31 to 8-4. The room was nice and location convenien. Front desk staff was friendly. My only issue is with the $32 per night destination fee that was tacked on after I paid online for the entire 3-night stay in advanc. Then it took three calls to get them to email me a receipt. The $96 extra I paid was deducted from my $300 deposit. The $10 food/beverage credit is an attempt to cover up the $32 destination. Such a scam. Just charge what you advertise and let guest figure out where they want to eat/drink! After all it's Chicago! Last time staying at a Royal Sonesta or Kimpton property and will warn my friend. Yelp
Perfectly located in the theater district, close to the M park, museums, good restaurants, it's on the train line, so you can everywhere. Use the parking offered in the hotel, so you can go in and out when you want at no additional cost. The rooms were very clean, the personnel is solicitous and the bar in the hotel is great. I will stay again.

Yelp
I had the best time at Allegro hotel. In all honestly getting there was a happy coincidence! We were a little early for the Lion King at the theatre next door. We saw that this hotel was right there so we went to the hotel bar! In all honesty-and I don't blame them it is after all, January in Chicago at 6pm-but it was pretty quiet. However, that was just the vibe we were looking for. The atmosphere was very elegant-not snooty though! We had a few drinks which came with some complimentary Chex mix. Super cute touch! I'm hoping to check it out during a more busy time in the future.

Yelp
My husband and I found a bedbug in the bedframe while staying here. The staff denied that it was true despite photo evidence and gaslit us.

Yelp
Do mot patronize Royal Sonesta Hotels! I stayed at the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel in August 2023. the staff were friendly while we were guests, the room was extremely small, and my friend and I requested a rollaway. I brought home bed bugs as a result of sleeping on the rollaway bed. it was a horrible experience that lasted a number of months. Allegro was not responsive and took no responsibility. This cost me over $2,000 + the cost of staying there, and it appeared that the hotel could have cared less. I asked them to reimburse me for the expenses associated with this incident. Allegro was the only place I had stayed until I realized I brought bed bugs home from my stay at the hotel. This week, 7 months after my stay, the general manager called me. He told me that it was not the hotel's responsibility and that they had tested and there were no bed bugs present. When the call ended I realized he was gaslighting me. I definitely do not believe him. Allegro was the only place where this could have happened. He is protecting the corporate interest at the expense of guests, which I am certain reflects the values of CEO, John Murray. As guests and customers, we deserve better.

Yelp
My wife, and family stayed here the night before our wedding. Iyonna (Front Desk/Guest Services) took wonderful care of us! She made sure our family was in the room next to us, to help prepare for our big day. She gave us an upgraded room and also went above and beyond by having wine, a handwritten card and a charcuterie board placed in our room. Iyonna really made our stay very special and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Yelp
Great location! Friendly customer service! Fun amenities & personalized touches like coffee and ice cream for guests.

Yelp
FRIGGIN AMAZING! The staff were all exceptional and very friendly! Hotel was very clean and welcoming. From the entrance to the rooms, it was very clean.

Yelp
Despite the reviews, I had a pleasant stay. The moment I entered, I was greeted by the bellhop and directed to the lobby located upstairs. Immediately, I found myself drawn to its beauty. Located in the lobby are several seating areas, the front desk, and a bar. The bar was closed due to COVID, which was unfortunate, as I would have loved to dine and enjoy a few drinks there. The check-in process is pretty quick. There was a slight hiccup with the room I booked through the Hopper App. The front desk staff assisted me with an upgrade to the correct room at a discounted price and even threw in a bottle of alcohol at no additional charge. I booked a King Suite with a jetted tub. The room was spacious (more than enough space for me and my luggage). The bed was comfortable. From what I could see, the room was clean. Would visit again.

Yelp
Room ins tiny but the worst part is the mattress. It seems they haven't change the mattress in years, it has a huge dent and feels like sleeping on a hammock with the feet above the chest. I had to sleep upside down and it felt like i was sleeping uphill which was a bit better but overall a terrible experience, worst night sleep ever. Other than the hundred year old mattress the hotel lobby and bar look nice and the staff is friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated a short "baby moon" in Chicago and chose this hotel to stay at in a King room. My husband got a little sneaky and called before our stay to coordinate a welcome surprise for me which included an upgraded room (king suite with two person tub), bouquets of flowers, and all my favorite pregnancy treats waiting for us in the room. The suite was MASSIVE and beautiful and clean. Adam and Krystal were incredible in helping my husband to coordinate such a wonderful experience. I'm very grateful to them for making me feel so special. *also! The bartender was so incredibly sweet. I, unfortunately, didn't get her name but she provided wonderful service. I was so appreciative when she made me a unique mocktail

Yelp
FIRST -- I gotta give 5/5 stars for Carina, who works there and was SO helpful and sweet in her demeanor and attitude. She was thoughtful, paid attention to my needs and listened so well. She would be an asset anywhere she goes! My rating isn't 5/5 for the hotel -- although I was prepared to consider it until they charged me hidden fees that I was never told about -- in fact it was only after I asked that they told me, so this ruined the experience for me, has made me think of this place as ... bit shady. The gal at the front desk didn't seem to care one bit about my experience. Not. One. Bit. The place is old but not bad -- I like their bar and lobby. Their coffee isn't great. Their rooms are tiny -- prob because it's an old place. Starbucks right next door is a plus. Guests there are really nice. Not sure I would return, depends on its true rate compared to other places when booking. There is a lot of competition for quality. So they have to find a way to stay relevant -- either by service or dropping rates even more so people can't really complain. But Carina should go to another place.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Location is convenient, lobby is nice, but that's about the end of the redeeming qualities. The rooms are TINY and cramped. We had an awful view, the heater was ridiculously loud and inconsistent. The bathroom had double doors which exposed whoever was inside due to the gap that stared directly at the toilet. All amenities were removed from the room, supposedly due to covid, although they leave community shampoo/conditioner/shower gel containers. The cleanliness was lacking throughout and the TV had a line in the top 1/3 that displayed a completely different tone above it than the rest of the TV. This hotel embodied the steady depressing decline Chicago as a whole has taken since their new Mayor has taken office and allowed the city to fall apart. We won't be back. Not to this hotel, and probably not to this city until the current politics and wokeness is a distant memory.

Joel S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel used to be a wonderful Kimpton property. Sadly now run like a motel with bs hidden "destination fees" and rude staff. This used to be our getaway spot to treat ourselves in Chicago, but not anymore. Just a cynical cash grab with unprofessional staff. I hope they sell.

Yelp
Last Thursday, November 16, 2023, I booked a room at The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel - Chicago Loop. The room that I booked, according to my reservation, was a Deluxe King room. Upon check-in, I was given room number 508. The room, firstly, did not have a closet, nor did it have even a hook, or coat tree, absolutely no place to hang our clothes. There was no microwave oven, no coffee maker, no iron/ironing board, nothing to indicate that this was a deluxe room. I have stayed at much cheaper hotels that had all of these amenities, without being billed as a deluxe room. Upon check out, I found that the "incidental fee deposit" of $100 was eaten up by fees that the check-in staff did not inform me about. I was overcharged for a bag of cookies, and three sodas, to the tune of being refunded just over $4 out of the $100. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel while traveling. I will avoid this chain at all cost in the future.
google avatar

Andi C.

Yelp
Buyers beware - hidden booking fee charge. On top of the room & taxes, they add a $28 "destination fee" - apparently for coffee, wi fi, etc. This was not disclosed on the front end when I gave them my credit card for incidentals. If you book through the hotel, it's included. If you use a 3rd party site, like Expedia, you pay at the hotel. It's a total BS charge and soured my experience. Also, when I was there, only one of 3 elevators worked - had to walk down from the 9th floor because at 7:45 am, each time the elevator came, it was packed. The room was nice enough. The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. Good loop location. But their management/business practices leave a lot to be desired. Look around before you book here.

John D.

Yelp
Overly priced, Not worth the money rather stay at a best western than this place. Please avoid it if you can

Ibrahim I.

Yelp
Beware Hidden Fees! On check out, I find out that not only is there a $100 ($20/day) extra charge, but I also had $50 ($10/day) credit to spend. The options to buy were either cookies and chips that were a few dollars each or $25 (over priced) bottles of wine. I was already packed for the airport and didn't have much time. I couldn't even use the $50 towards tips for the room service staff. I ended up getting two bottles of wines for the two ladies at the front desk helping guests check out. I had a pretty good experience before that. I just don't like being duped, and was pretty disappointed that that was the last exchange with the hotel. The person helping me check out empathized and even gave me a $40 discount on the $100 I owed in hidden fees.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Clean, very convenient if you need to be in the loop it's in a good area for that! Absurdly small rooms. No room service. No amenities. For a work trip I can live for 2 days though because I don't have to be in the hotel except to sleep. Rude guest service staff though that does not believe in customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel. Due to covid, the amenities were not available (the reason for only 4 stars). The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly, accommodating and they offered us many city wide activities to explore. I would definitely revisit when coming to Chicago. Hopefully the amenities will be opening soon to get the full effect of the hotel.

Bailey M.

Yelp
This is an unfortunate one as the hotel itself is beautiful and in a really great location. We will start with the worst of the worst and any single gals traveling nightmare.... Someone else was checked into our room. After being concerned about this the gentleman at check in went up to the room to make sure no one was there, came back down and gave keys and sent us up. To not anyone's surprise the room was occupied and fully in use. We were given a light apology and three bottles of 13.99 wine. The bell hop was pushy and started naming things off in our room till we tipped him, mind you he took our tags first from us before telling us we couldn't get our bags because they didn't match the tags- sir, we all can read and matching numbers is an easy skill. 3 more times during our stay he mentioned they don't pay him enough so tipping is requested. Don't request an adjoining room because they will do their best to make sure they are on opposite sides. On our final night we came in after a boat tour and decided to drink one of the wines in the lobby lounge area, we brought our own glasses and everything but noticed the water container was empty. The front desk lady said that the whole area (40 various seating options) was closed for cleaning but nary a cleaner in sight. She then said "it IS 1am" and gave us a hand pointing back to the elevator. Strange to be sent back to my room as an adult and not very welcoming. We checked over the paperwork to see if this was mentioned anywhere at all and it's not so let it be known the bar closes at 11 and don't you dare come out of your room after that. If we would like the be petty then I would also like to mention the beds are well worn with holes in the sheets, the carafes of creamer for the coffee is usually rancid and tastes funny, and someone needs to walk around with a tray of touch up paint and fix things up. Maybe try it's sister hotel down the way.

Yelp
The hotel is beautifully decorated in the Art Deco style. Location is awesome, super close to theater district and mag mile. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!

NaywriChi W.

Yelp
This used to be under the Kimpton Group but it changed ownership back in December. This has about 430 rooms. This is bigger than the Royal Sonesta Riverfront.

Aria J.

Yelp
This hotel is not worth the price! I was very hopeful for this hotel as it seems like an upscale hotel from hindsight. Yet, every time I have tried to enter my room the key does not work. Not to mention, whenever I have to go to the front desk (which is often as the key doesn't work every time I enter my room) they consistently have a condescending attitude as if they are speaking down to me. Every other hotel in Chicago had a helpful staff that assists me through every conflict. I love chicago but staying in this specific hotel has hindered my experience. Unless things change, I suggest staying in a different downtown hotel!!
google avatar

Emily O.

Yelp
This hotel is cute and trendy but that's about where my liking of it ends. The walls are absolutely paper thin. I've stayed at Motel 6 that were quieter. All night, our neighbors had a loud sex marathon and I felt like I was literally in bed with Moaning Myrtle having her Chamber of Secrets explored. The bathroom is the size of a closet. I'm pretty sure if I were plus-size I would have had a hard time entering it. It was a convenient location to the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Front desk staff was friendly.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding yesterday and decided to stay the night as a treat, even though we are local to Chicago. I can honestly say that Leah and her team have cultivated an amazing experience for their guests. They are friendly, helpful, and so excited to provide excellent hospitality. The food was absolutely sublime, it did not taste like many bland catered events, it seems like they had cooked my plate fresh just for me. I even broke a nail halfway through the reception, and Leah was ready with superglue. We will definitely be returning in the future if we ever want a night away.

Yelp
We had our wedding block at The Allegro Royal Sonesta. They price matched our quote from hotel planner which was great! We were able to get 2 suites on different floors and our guests were able to easily book their rooms using our link. The hotel is in an amazing location downtown with affordable in/out privileged parking across the street. We were able to get parking Friday-Sunday for only $32. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and their customer service was amazing. Christopher and Kasia were amazing at communicating with us throughout the process. Kasia was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed the week of our wedding. Any questions I had she answered right away. Our guests enjoyed their stay at the hotel! We were also able to take our first look pictures on their beautiful staircase and the pictures turned out amazing! We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Yelp
Stayed here on a Saturday evening with my wife and we were both disappointed. We're from Kansas so our expectations are pretty low, lol, so it's saying a lot that our experience was a 1-star. Fridge within our room didn't work, no hot water, and when we brought these up to the main-desk their concierge didn't acknowledge our experience at all. The bar and lobby are decent though and hotel is in a convenient location. May 2022

Yelp
I stayed in room 804. The room next to us, closer to the direction of the elevator, had multiple people in it just talking, laughing, and having a good time. They were not yelling. They were doing everything you should be able to do in your own room. It's now 3:45AM, and the issue is the hotel walls. They are paper thin, so you hear everything. I mean I can verbatim repeat their conversations. So, I called the front desk. I explained they were doing nothing wrong, but that due to the paper thin walls, I have not been able to sleep. He was nice. He told me no manager was available to assist, and that they are completely sold out so there's nothing he can do. $370.39 for one night in a hotel where I can't sleep. I'm beyond aggravated. Don't stay here! For this price, stay somewhere where the rooms aren't tiny and walls aren't paper thin.

Yelp
I tried to check in on March 6th and was told (very rudely) by a Mr. Bell that my reservation could not be found. After getting the reservation team on the phone and standing there for more than 20 minutes while he clicked and searched I was NEVER offered a room in the nearly empty hotel. I was traveling for business and my company and the Allegro Royal confirmation team confirmed the reservation. None of that mattered while I was standing with my bags, ID, and corporate card. Mr. Bell simply stared at me and threw his hands in the air. I decided to leave and after 30 minutes found a room 20 minutes away.

Yelp
IF YOU HAVE KIDS DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! If you are expecting to have a seamless stay with no obstacles...DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! This location does not have a parking garage, nor any-type of snacks, water/vending machine, they will over charge you for the littlest things without offering substantial customer service. The first desk receptionist will talk down to you which is something I've never experienced from hotel associates. The first night I requested two rooms for my husband, three children, and I. Yet, they informed us they would only be able to have my three children who are under 10 years old four floors beneath us. They said that there were no exceptions even though it was a Monday night with little to no people. Expecting me to be secure with my 6 year old and 9 year on a different floor than us is unheard of. This hotel may be nice for a one night stay by yourself, BUT IT IS NOT CHILD FRIENDLY

Yelp
The place is dirty. Feels like a motel painted to look like a hotel. Rooms remind me of one of those hourly motels. If you ever heard the expression about putting lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig, yeah well it's a pig.

Yelp
Quirky old hotel in the loop. I didn't have hot water for one of the mornings I was there, which is an essential amenity. Can't recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Two stars is generous. The stars are only for the wonderful location. The hotel is dated with glossy painted trim that has lived its life. The carpet is dirty and old. Windows are in desperate need of washing. Let's be real the rooms are terrible, dirty and uninviting. The doors in the rooms are bifold and all hit each other. Bathroom has no fan and the bifold doors leave a lovely gap when closed. There is no daily house keeping. Spent over 30 minutes waiting for an elevator a few times. Choose the down stairs from that 18th story a couple times when the elevators failed. The "free" coffee bar is removed before ending time. The hotel was an utter disappointment and absolutely not worth $300/night.

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the valet parking attendants and The concierge staff. The elevators were slow and got stuck constantly. The room itself had very few amenities. They didn't offer breakfast. For the price you would think the hotel would offer more. I was definitely not happy with my stay.

Yelp
DO NOT recommend staying here. This hotel is dirty, smelly, old & overpriced. Services were unavailable yet still charged for them. The "clean" towels we asked for were thrown & left on the floor. There is no extractor in the bathroom. Aside from being well greeted upon arrival & employees were professional, it was a waste of money.. will not book with Allegro again.
