"This popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain now has three locations across San Diego including an outpost at Westfield UTC. It's known for making its own brown sugar tapioca boba that it calls “Deerioca”, which can be added to any drink along with jelly in flavors like lychee and pineapple." - Candice Woo

First time going to the UTC location. Although a bit smaller than the convoy spot, it's much closer to me and still has that chill atmosphere. Staff were awesome, drink was made quick, my only complaint is that I missed the grand opening and Spy x Family Collab T_T but that's on me! I got thr original purple rice yogurt drink and their standard alley black Assam milk tea. Both tasted amazing! 5/5 Stars

The staff is really friendly during their grand opening (3/30). My drink order was made quickly, though there was only few people in the store at the time. Their atmosphere is a little upbeat but simple. I don't think this was their final set up. Maybe they'll add seating in the coming days They seemed to have raised their prices a bit. They have also added less Deerioca boba to my drink. I'm a bit disappointed that they have given me only 1/3rd of boba in my Matcha Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk. There were only a few left by the time I drank half my matcha. I feel, The Alley is a premium boba milk tea store, but still, I am unsatisfied with their amount of boba I got here compared to their other location. I gotta mention, they add a 3% surcharge to your total price if you're not paying in cash. I don't remember seeing it written anywhere, but I wasn't told about it.

I’ve been craving matcha and got this delicious brown sugar matcha with oatmilk boba and it was delicious! Matcha is not always good at some places, but their matcha definitely has a superior taste and satisfied my craving for a good matcha! Can’t wait to come back and try more drinks here!

First time here and they just opened. Got the matcha brown sugar deerioca with oatmilk, very good! The drink comes with boba already so no need to add extra. Also got a chocolate waffle, it was warm and crispy, the topping was creamy and cold, perfect combo. I signed up on their social media a few weeks ago to be one of the first 100 customers during their grand opening to get a complimentary gift, so cute and considerate. I received a fluffy deer keychain and canned milk tea. Recommend.

I had the crème brulee boba with soy milk, and it was absolutely delicious! The rich, creamy flavor combined with the perfect sweetness made it my new favorite drink. Yes, there was a bit of a line and it got crowded at times, but the wait was totally worth it. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick once we ordered. If you’re a boba lover or just looking to try something new, I highly recommend this spot. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

New boba place in UTC, and some aspects stood out to me. First off, not sure why more boba places are starting to do an order kiosk only. The electronic menu sometimes doesn’t have the details you may want, like which drinks are non-caffeinated, requiring you to go to the front counter anyway to ask. Electronic menu also doesn’t specify which toppings come with a particular drink. The day we went, there was a sign on the order kiosk saying no smoothies were available - however the group behind us ordered a smoothie and was told it existed but there was a wait. We ordered the Purple rice yogurt, which while good had a significant wait of 20 minutes that was not mentioned at time of ordering . Staff was great about communicating after the order, so I think this may be more of an issue related to kiosk order only. Overall, will probably still be back to try other offerings, but definitely one of the pricier boba options in San Diego . Two drinks ran $15.
