"So you rushed your lines again. Bad habits are hard to break sometimes, but at least your audition was in Hollywood and there’s a street dog cart right outside. The bacon-wrapped hotdog on the far right might be a touch under, but you don't care. These sizzling LA icons are exactly what you need while kicking yourself for making the same mistakes over and over again." - brant cox

Man, I was such a dry mouth; just thirsty! I know not to drink soda when you're mildly dehydrated so I was downtown near "The Alley" and found "The Alley Dog" The first item I saw was the jugs of fresh fruit juice the score for my thirst, very quenching. So they also have bacon hot dogs, tacos, very fresh fruit and I ordered the steak fry's. Oh and they do have a relaxing sit area where you can eat and rest,.It's Pleasant thou I mainly will return for the juice .

Google
Everytime i go here I have a good experience the food is always good. It is rare of the time I don’t eat all of the plate. There are times the tacos are a little hard but most of the times it’s very good. There costumer service is good. They clean up there tables. I’m happy I get to come here. I love coming here when I have to shop at the alleys.💕

Google
This place makes a great hot dog!!! Eat your heart out Chicago! The Sonora Dog from this place just embarrassed you! I knew the hot dog would have beans, pico de Gallo, sour cream and queso fresco. I didn't expect the torta bread and the french fries. Plus, there's clean seating amongst the chaos of all the shoppers of the L.A. Fashion District!!

Google
I fell in love with Alley Dog. I wish we had some in upstate Cali. Half of California is living an empty life without these amazing street hot dogs wrapped in bacon and made with love. They also had a bigger kitchen in the back that sold amazing al pastor sopes. I wish so bad to be back there eating this food again. I can't wait to visit again.

Google
The food is nasty and really pricey,I bought the small plate of chilaquiles and they where $12 they didn't even have souce. If I would of known I would of order somewhere else.

James Chan

Google
Good place to grab some decently price food. Overall I enjoyed the hot dog and fries. Service was also very friendly and you can order from the stall or the building.

Catnip

Google
If you want fresh squeezed juice, this is the spot, otherwise take a pass. The food is so/so and the prices ( which aren’t listed on the menu) are high! There are so many other places around that have better food~ just saying…

Yelp
Staff were friendly up until I had to return my food and ask for a refund because my food had a cockroach. They offered to make me a different plate and I said no. The girl who took my order told the other lady when she was processing my refund to "wait because shes going to tell me something", once the lady gave me my receipt for the refund she told the girl to "leave it alone". Beware if you eat here because the roach was running on the plate. The only reason they gave me a refund is because some customers sitting next to us saw the whole thing and spoke up. Update: The girl who took my order and said she was going to tell me something her name is ' Jazmin'

Yelp
We visited from Phoenix and were walking around and stumbled across this place. The food was amazing! 10 out of 10, I'd try it again!

Nathan R.

Yelp
The price of two hot dogs and two drinks amounted to a total of $32. Crazy expensive for mediocre food. Service was good though.

Gracie C.

Yelp
the carne asada fries from here are disgusting. they use nacho cheese instead of shredded cheese, and they use old hard ground beef as their "carne asada" such a waste of money. a plate of birria tacos and carne asada was $31 . i won't touch this mystery meat

Basilio L.

Yelp
My co worker and I were hungry early morning and was crunched for time.. They seemed to have just opened and took long to fry what seemed to be frozen taquitos . I only wanted taquitos no beans and rice combo. I ordered beef and him chicken.. They were overpriced and still charged for a combo Eben though I said taquitos only. way overpriced 11.50 and were disgusting ,my coworker got a instant stomach ache from the 7$ horchata that tasted like yesterday's with added ice he stated! Let's just say he didn't come to work today ,he been vomiting all night and me let's just say staying close to portapottys at work!!!Way overpriced and disgusting, burnt beans also!! #neveragain

Jasmine M.

Yelp
5 for service and 3 for food. The people here are so friendly and helpful! Now the food...tried the quesadilla with Al Pastor and it was salty. Also, I would like more pineapple flavor. The fries (papas fritas) were okay but didn't seem fresh. The seasoning was a choice of salt or seasoned salt. Aguas Frescas was very sweet. I think the ice needs to melt, but good flavor. We tried the watermelon and chia limone. TIP: The location is actually at the county side of Olympic at an entrance of part of Santee Alley. Santee Alley is a great flea market type place that you can get different merchandise such as electronics, clothing, housewares, etc.

Jose G.

Yelp
The food here was disgusting! Everything from the rice, beans and especially the tacos. Just plane out disgusting.

Veronica M.

Yelp
Pretty good breakfast & California burrito ! Would recommend if you ever get hungry while shopping at the alleys . Took around 30 to 40 min !

K H.

Yelp
What the actual F*** ! I am beyond disgusted with this S*** ! Mold on my dang dog!!!! Do mind you it took 45 minutes for my order, this was a $10 hot dog btw, with brown avocado as you all can see in the photo. I do not recommend this S*** ! Someone please call a health department. It's completely understandable for bread to mold, that's life. But for you as an organization to see the mold and say F*** it and sale it anyway says more about the cleanliness of this business! And I'm not going to lie my stomach hurts. Let's see how they react when I go to get a refund. Update: Went to go return the food and the worker refused a refund and also was extremely aggressive, followed me to my car etc. look at her , what was she going to throw that box at me. This is crazy.

Tea T.

Yelp
The service was good. I got my food quickly, carne asada fries. It was less than $8 I believe. There menu makes the food look very tasty. My food was ok. I wish I had salt on the fries. The meat was good though. You get fries, meat, cheese, nacho cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. There's very minimal seating. If you're easily disgusted with birds walking around I wouldn't advise eating here. It's probably best to get your food to go and eat it in the car. Not sure how often the staff can get out and wipe down the tables and chairs throughout the day because they look pretty worn down. I still give this place a 5 stars because the food was still good and the staff was friendly even though the seating area wasn't kept up (it's the alley ).

Anony M.

Yelp
The food was alright it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst but four plates of food one of them being a kids meal along with 3 drinks was $75 which is way over priced for what it was. The drinks were extremely sweet so we couldn't drink them till we got home so we could add water and ice. There was a lady who was a little rude but the guy who took our order was very kind. Overall mid experience for a lot of money.

Maria C.

Yelp
I was in the Alley buying some clothes. Came across this stand with street vendors. Bought a hot dog, 2 aguas frescas, 1 cup of mango. A total of $32.00!!! The prices are insane for a snack!!! Be careful before you buy for street vendors with prices do crazy! The cup of mango was $11.00 which I'm thinking it's a made up price! Hot Dogs $9.00 and Aguas Frescas $6.00.

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Actual fresh fruit in the drinks, which were super tasty. Not too sweet, and you could actually taste REAL fruit. Super refreshing. I would recommend going there for that alone haha. the hot dog was also pretty good. Reminded me on a NYC hot dog, but mexican style. Super good

Monica J.

Yelp
Food was good taste wise. The lady handling the food TERRIBLE our burrito wasn't even done right completely fell apart like she didn't even try. When i had asked if she can cut it she said "next time you want it cut you have to tell the cashier" and she THREW the knife at me and walked away while rolling her eyes. If you don't like your job then quit, instead of being rude to customers

Ricky G.

Yelp
Food is HORRIBLE. Too PRICEY! Service is whatever. Not welcoming or a smile in sight. The

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Food is literally overpriced... better off going to one of them food trucks or other food stands in the area... if the food tasted good... then I wouldn't have mind paying what I did. $20 for a hot dog and a agua Fresca smh

Amin B.

Yelp
When I walked into this restaurant, I had high expectations. They weren't met at all. To start off, the patty was quite bland. Although the sauce had some flavor, it wasn't enough to save the burger. Secondly, the fries were severely overcooked. They also had barely any salt on them which once again, left the meal with no flavor. The restaurant workers were very rude and weren't willing to help me with any of my needs. Even for a request as simple as a napkin, they looked at me tired and in disgust. Lastly, when I asked for no bacon on the burger they still added it, and I ended up having to pay for another one! This is somewhere I definitely won't be coming back to, and I recommend none of you ever step foot in here to save yourself from the mess that is The Alley Dog.

Keren A.

Yelp
Hot dogs are good really good but I went yesterday to get tacos de canasta and they where ok for the price I see the lady getting them out the freezer and tossing them in the plancha don't get me wrong but tacos de la canasta are al vapor meaning steamed when I got my food it was frozen and the lady just threw it in the Plancha with the sauce

Sun K.

Yelp
Bomb Fresas -- variety of flavors and you get chewable bits (so you can't choke on anything lol) Bomb Alley Dogs -- everything is fresh and not over cooked Bomb Location -- bc you get you sit down and avoid foot traffic! Definitely gonna come back!

Lola B.

Yelp
Chilaquile plate they gave this to me and it looks like soup second of all I had ordered sunny side up and this was the second time they had handed my plate back to me after they had fully cooked my eggs, I had asked the cashier at the front too specially. Then I asked for more chips and the stupid cook or whomever was in the back came like bo I can't give you any I'm like have you seen this food ? It looks like a soup. And they got upset at me I'm like I've been coming here for years and they have never half ass served me until this day and it's a damn Monday nobody's here super bad cooking and the food is not even that great she had given me like small amount of beans and I am upset unhappy with this order and third of all they said they can't make chilaquiles only in the morning it's 3 pm now I told them I've been ordering this for years wth y'all on today. Anyways hope they read this fix your customer service if imma pay 10$ for one meal it better be good and it's not look at this plate and it was two minutes of them handing it to me imagine if I would of actually had it to go

Briana V.

Yelp
The alley dog is great. The carne asada fríes and nachos are the three things I get from here. It's a no frills place with good prices for the amount of food you get. I have tried a couple other alley dogs from other street vendors and nothing compares to the all beef hot dogs here. You can definitely taste the difference and to me worth the extra $2.50 you pay in comparison to the other vendors.

Rubie H.

Yelp
Cashier popped attitude when we told her the order was wrong and argued with us Food was cold

Spitz L.

Yelp
terrible. we bought churros for 5$ and they came in 4 and they were old! never again coming /: update: my mom got food poison

Dianne G.

Yelp
The best bacon wrapped hotdogs in Los Angeles. Always fast service and delicious food thanks for keeping my hotdog fix satisfying! For a quick desert strawberry yogurt is definitely recommended!

Ernestina V.

Yelp
I am so sorry, but I give this place a negative stars. I was there with my daughter, this past Saturday; a mommy and daughter lunch date. We ordered three carne asada sopes and one chicken burrito. The order was called, I picked it up. The food order was all wrong. Burrito de asada and sopes de pollo. We returned the food and when I got my chicken burrito back, the "guacamole" smelled and tasted like vomit. I was grossed out; gross. I could not eat it. It was just nasty. I wanted to throw up. Never again will I eat here and I will not be recommending this place to anyone, ever.

Stephy S.

Yelp
Love it food is a amaZing and fair price... I been at the alleys for a while and always order there

Cecilia N.

Yelp
Worst service ever, I don't usually write reviews but they overcharged me and I tried to get my money back and the person just rang up the same receipt like it was fixed. They didn't even try to hear me out, they just shut the curtain in my face.

Emily L.

Yelp
Stopped by here because I saw the Agua Frescas and I am obsessed with them. I got a watermelon cucumber. The hubby got some mangos with chile. Tip: get the mangos without chile. Because they've been sitting, the mangos were soggy

Misael S.

Yelp
Terrible limonade water never again hot dogs are better off buying on the carts stands. Plus Bad service I just left the drink took the L

Bettye L.

Yelp
Made it to santee alley and had to find myself a good old dirty street dog. Yum. I practically salivate making the drive from San Diego to Santee Alley just thinking about a dirty dog. Bacon wrapped hotdog? Oink. The guacamole Pico de gallo? Double oink. The green jalapeno pepper? Delicious. For 6 bucks I got a bacon wrapped dog, a bag of crushed up Fritos and a can of 7up. Minus 1 star for their outdoor seating. I'm lucky I got both ass cheeks on their small seating tables Lmao. Sit on it, you'll see what I'm talking about lol.

Melerelini I.

Yelp
This is my go to place since I was little. I brought my bride tribe to eat here and they loved it! The food was great and the customer service was awesome! It's a great place to stop by for a quick bite and shop. Thank you and I will see you again!

Destiny E.

Yelp
Favorite part of the Santee Alley. 6$ combo for a yummy hot dog, chips, and soda. Aguas frescas are an extra charge but nonetheless sweet and delicious. My favorite flavor is watermelon. 5$ for the aguas frescas and I'll be honest with you, they put a lot of ice in the drink so sip slowly. It's quick and easy place to grab a snack as you shop or perfect as a little break between shopping. I also tried their esquite. 5$ as well and was also very good. Corn was sweet and perfect in texture. If you feel this place is a bit on the pricey side there are several different vendors on the outskirts that sell different items along with hot dogs as well. I don't really eat much else off the menu except the bacon wrapped hot dog. They do have a small area to sit down and enjoy your food if you wish to take a little break but it does fill up fast so if you see an open space snatch it up!

Kimmie K.

Yelp
I came to the downtown fashion district alleys to get some last minute Christmas shopping. I paid $7 for a cup of watermelon! A cup! And it's not like I got even a 1/4 of a full size watermelon. Outrageous! I had visited 2 weeks prior and it was $6 that time. I don't know if they jack up the prices around holiday season but I was not happy. I only bought because my 3 year old was hungry. Will make sure to pack lunch next time.

W J.

Yelp
Finally finding a parking spot for a quick walk around. After a not so exhilarating experience at Dirt Dog on Figueroa, I wanted to try a REAL dirty dog. Found this place. Corner of the Santee Alley and 12th. Just background, I was already bit full from the previous so-called dirty dog. Tried this, must say.. I prefer THIS over the "pinky up, millineal magnet" dirty dog. So, goes to show you, its not about the hype or the yuppy millineal enthusiasm, it's about the flavors. This dog was dirty, junkyard dirty, but you can still taste the dog...bacon... Tomatoes... Avocadoes... Onions. All partying in my mouth, and everybody is getting along. Warning, don't take a big bite of the peppers they put on the side. It friggin burns. Overall, good experience.

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Wow, it's so colorful! This is what initially caught our eyes. After bridesmaid dress shopping at the fashion district, my friends and I decided to walk around the area. We ended up at this spot and I tried the pineapple and cucumber qgua fresca. It was very refreshing! My friends got the dogs, which they really enjoyed too. We sat in the small seating area that is provided :)

Marti L.

Yelp
In the city, you have to wait til late night, drunk and belligerent, to find those scrumptious, mind-blowing bacon wrapped hot dogs. In LA, Santee Alley has them in every corner during the daytime. Of course, you can't settle for just any one stand. We rejected about 5 stands before finally stopping at Alley Dogs. Their hot dogs looked and smelled delicious. And heck, we were sober! We loaded the hot dog with grilled onions, jalapeno, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. So bad but so good! =D

Diana B.

Yelp
Love their breakfast sandwiches their aguas frescas also their fresh fruit love that staff is nice

Jose A.

Yelp
bomb food. Sorry I took a photos after I ate but it was just too bomb!! I had chilaquiles and a hot dog for breakfast and it was delicious!! Definitely will be back.

Ginaa G.

Yelp
DON'T waist your time in this place the food is horrible and you wait long for a simple hot dog to came out. The little hot dogs stands are way better than this 0/10

Bunni B.

Yelp
$10 a hotdog and $5 for an Aqua Fresca ‍ Hot dog was alright nothing amazing but the strawberry lemonade was good

Braulio P.

Yelp
This spot is very good cause it has good shopping distance from clothes to electronics. I was really satisfied with my order and my family and I enjoyed our food and totally recommend The Alley Dog when your hungry.

Desiree D.

Yelp
If I could give this place 100 stars I would! Everything was amazing! All of their agua frescas were extremely flavorful - I recommend the lime and cucumber and horchata! I had a bacon wrapped hot dog with all of the toppings (pico de Gallo, sautéed onions, and a side of jalapeños) they also give you a bag of chips with the purchase of the bacon dogs and everything was great and tasted quality not cheap at all. The man who helped us was very nice and informative about more locations and refill prices. Definitely going back when I'm in the area!

Eric M.

Yelp
Great hot dogs! Highly recommend the hot dogs here! I just had a bacon wrap hot dog it come pico de Gallo, ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, and avocado...so good! The combo comes with a drink and chips. Now it's a bit pricey, the combo is One hot dog a large drink and chips for $10. But it is worth it. The location is crowded and seats are limited so be prepared you may have to stand while you eat. The drinks are fresh fruit waters like, pineapple, strawberry, mango, etc. it's made with fresh fruit it's so delicious. If you are ever in the fashion district in LA make sure you find this place.

Eva M.

Yelp
Loved this place!! The gentleman was super friendly and attentive the food was the bomb!! The hotdogs were loaded af the carne asada fries were fresh and hot. The aguas were frescas! I loved the cucumber and lime water it was super delicious with actual cucumbers and limes inside. Definitely a little gen in the alleys and worth the price!

Anisha H.

Yelp
Why does street food have to taste so AMAZING!!! I love visiting the alley dog when I came out to LA in April. food was amazing, service was speedy and the atmosphere was refreshingly HOT LOL! I'm excited to head back really soon with my family best they miss these hot dogs. GO WITH A ENOTY BELLY SO YOU CAN EAT TWO!

Kim T.

Yelp
If you're shopping in the area, this is such a convenient stop for a quick bite! I mooched off my friend's horchata and it was DELICIOUS. Seemed really affordable too. I enjoyed the street style vibes. They had all kinds of food that you can walk and eat. These are on almost every corner in Santee Alley. Hard to miss!

Stacy G.

Yelp
Just our here having some delicious hotdogs! Can't beat it with a nice chia lemonade!!!!

Abbey W.

Yelp
do not go here they will scam you and charge you for extra food you didnt order plus everything tastes sooooo bad

Eliana F.

Yelp
Ive tried every taco and hot dog stand here and saw this place and immediately thought it looks way cleaner than a cart. It was, not just that the food is amazing. I got tacos de canasta loaded with potato and cheese and the carnitas tacos were better than any of tried. The cashier was also a sweetheart! I will only eat here when im in downtown LA.

RJ M.

Yelp
I know these guys are better known for their hot dogs, but decided to try their beef quesadilla, because I wasn't really in the mood for hot dogs that day. A few seats and tables for customers outside was nice. And they cleaned it themselves when we said we needed some napkins for the table. The quesadilla was fine, nothing too extreme to brag about, just enough to satisfy the hungry santee shopper. Although for the price they charge, I thought they could've added a bit more stuffing. Guacamole was the highlight in my opinion. Perfect tang from the avocados and the tomato to balance out the richness of the meat and cheese. Rice was meh, dry and had no flavor. I suppose it's not bad for the price I paid. Maybe my tummy is just a little bigger than the average person. Stop by if you're really really hungry and cannot spare more time to walk a few more blocks to the next restaurant.
