Really good bubble tea place, and had some wild options. Even at half sugar they were too sweet for me, but I'm not going to dock them any points for that. If you want a dessert in a glass, this is the place.

I love this place and am a regular here. The vibes are good and the staff are kind. They have good fruit teas! Their black teas are always brewed fresh with the teabag still left in the drink. The staff are happy to remove ingredients you do not wish to have, such as the jelly.

The new series drink was so disgusting! so powdery and artificial. NOT one single taste of actual matcha, more like low-grade green tea that they couldnt even bother to mix the power properly. ice level is fixed that’s fine, but it tasted so gross, we couldnt even drink after 4 sips, wanted to not waste food and money but it was on the level that could make you barf (for such a big brand like The Alley and for the price they set??). Employee was nice.

No matter where you are in the world, The Alley consistently delivers on high quality boba especially in a place that doesn't typically have artisan boba available. I'm a self-proclaimed boba connoisseur so I fully expected to enjoy this drink, and I did. They offer a variety of high quality milk and fruit tea beverages, and even offer non-dairy milk which made it the ideal situation for myself. I went with a Jasmine Soy Milk Tea Latte with Boba and it was refreshingly perfect. Boba was soft and satisfying, the milk tea had the perfect level of sweetness to it, and I was happy. Service was friendly and quick, and the decor inside had The Alley's trademark antlers welcoming guests to the shop. Definitely recommend as a spot for boba if you're downtown.

delicious boba! the seating area is very cozy. i asked to add tapioca to a drink and they said that it wasn’t possible so i had to take another drink… waiting for the drink was a bit long but it was worth it at the end, the flavours were so fresh and refreshing ;)

it's my favorite bubble tea spot in montreal! there are so many boba places in the city but this is hands-down the best. they offer such a wide range of delicious drinks that never fail to impress me. the pearls are chewy just enough and are always consistent (they are always the same size, same consistency and texture. some other places have a lot of trouble with that) the prices are reasonable for the quality you get. not to mention this chain frequently collabs with franchises such as sanrio or jujutsu kaisen to release special limited time drinks! it's very refreshing to have a chain that regularly updates their menu.

The Alley is the best bubble tea that I've had in Montreal! You cannot go wrong with Deerioca Puff Try Royal No. 9 Milk Tea (hint of chocolate raspberry) if you want something more traditional with some depth. Jasmine Green Milk Tea is also a good standard one. The Alley Trio Milk Tea (great for kids, colorful tapioca) Always opt for real milk and not powdered milk!

It's definitely one of the best Boba teas in Montreal. The first, The Alley, was in Vegas, and we loved it. We tried 2 other boba shops in Montreal, and all failed. We had the ube milk tea with taro bits. It was really good. The taro bits are real taro! Then the winter melon tea was really good. Boba is really soft and chewy. The only minus is that we can not order our drinks less sugar, and the lady made us the wrong drink. But we got to keep it and gave us a new drink. No complaints there.

Ordered my usual favorite Jasmine Green Milk Tea. It was perfect. Just the rite amount of milk and sugar with less ice and a quick service. A nice quiet place with a very nice interior.

The first time I tried The Alley was in Toronto, and I loved it, so I was super excited when one opened up in Montreal (I mean I would love it if one opened up in Ottawa, but in the meantime, I'm in Montreal more often than in Toronto, lol). I got the regular sized Royal No 9 Tea Latte ($5) and added tapioca (for an additional $0.50). I like my drinks not too sweet but very cold, so I got "little sweet" which is about 25-30% sweet, and regular ice. I would say that with this drink I could have gone "half sweet" as it wasn't quite sweet enough. It does depend on the drink though because the last time I got The Alley Trio Milk Tea, and "little sweet" was still too sweet for me, so with The Alley Trio I would go "no sugar." Anyway, it's all dependent on personal tastes, so this is really more of a note for myself, lol. The Royal No 9 Tea Latte has a distinct blueberry flavour to it that I really liked. It was also not as rich or creamy as The Alley Trio, which I prefer, as I don't like overly rich drinks. It comes layered, but you have to shake up the drink before you drink it ;) The tapioca were soft and chewy and I got a decent amount of them. Service was friendly. The place is very small with minimal seating, so it gets snug when people are milling about waiting for their drinks. Street parking only, but really close to Guy-Concordia Metro station.

I've been wanting to try their bubble tea for a long time but there's always been a long lineup, but my bf and I decided to go there when they open to beat the rush! Super happy we did because we were first in line hehe. We tried the peach hojicha and the royal no. 9 black tea. Both were amazing! We opted for less sugar and less ice, and really enjoyed it! I would highly recommend the peach hojicha one, I haven't had a bubble tea that good in a long time! The tea flavours of both drinks really come through, the tapoica pearls were cooked perfectly and service was great! I had wanted to try their brown sugar deerioca bubble tea but unfortunately it wasn't available right when their shop opened (noon on weekends), but the cashier did offer to text/call me if I wanted that flavour and I could come back to pick it up in roughly 30-40mins which I appreciate! Will definitely need to go back to try that drink!

New bubble tea place near Concordia! Now it'll be even harder to choose where you want to get your boba fix. I noticed this chain on instagram and was planning on visiting in Toronto but didn't have time, so glad they opened a montreal location! The line up didn't look long but it waaaaas. Took about an hour and a half to get our drinks. They ran out of the brown sugar drinks which was a bummer since it is what they are known for but I got their home specialty the royal n9 and it was still really good! I got it with less sugar and less ice in the regular size and it was perfect. Honestly, I always find the boba portions to be waaaay too big for my level of thirst so when I saw their small size I was over the moon happy. It's also cheaper since it is much smaller than average. Around $5-$5.50 for the regular sizes and $6-$8 for large. The boba was chewy but wasn't my favourite. They have a loyalty program that works just like starbucks because you need to load your card to pay and get a free drink after 10 drinks. You can't just scan it for points. The inside is small but pretty cute. The staff is fast and friendly.

Their bubble tea is great, but they've been out of stock for tapioca twice when I've been there. Despite that, the tea is great, you can choose different levels of ice and sugar which is great (I hate it when it's too sweet). The kiwi slush is absolutely delicious and very fresh. The atmosphere of the place is absolutely adorable as well, and I can't wait to study there, because it's very cozy and calm.

The Alley is hands down one of my favourite bubble tea shops in Downtown Montreal! I love The Alley's Snow Velvet and Deerioca series!! - SNOW VELVET PEACH MATCHA: I'm obsessed with the Snow Velvet Peach Matcha drink!! The snow velvet cheese foam was incredible, very creamy and light! I wasn't really a fan of cheese foam tbh, but their cheese foam has truly blown my mind. - DEERIOCA FEVER: The brown sugar tapioca pearls from the Deerioca Fever were perfect consistency, very soft & chewy. The tapioca pearls are served warm with fresh milk or soy milk. Deerioca Fever ($6) & Snow Velvet Peach Matcha ($6)

I waited till now to try The Alley because I didn't want to line up (I tried their stuff before in Toronto, so I knew what to expect). I got their Deerioca Fever with fresh milk, which I consider a classic. The brown sugar bubbles are much sweeter than bubbles from other bubble tea shops, since they're soaked in brown sugar syrup. I liked the drink - the overall taste was much milder than that of actual tea-based drinks. Really happy that there's more and more bubble tea places in town!

I know this place because of Instagram, but I honestly think that it's over-hyped, in the sense that the Alley is very good in branding but not necessarily offers a drink with superior quality. I think that the matcha boba tea that I took is too sweet and not well balanced. The matcha that was used is rather ordinary. The interior decor of the place is quite nice, so it's nice to spend a bit of time under the tree inside the bubble tea shop, but if you expect exceptional quality, go to other places close by (ex: Yifang)

Very good! I took the royal No.9 milk tea with fresh milk. I took the cold one. It was very rich and I cannot wait to go back to try with the soja milk. The staff was very nice. I am a beginner to the boba world so they were helpful in my choice. However, i found it a bit disappointing that I can't choose the % of sugar that I want. So the boba was a bit too sugary for me.

There are lots of bubble tea places downtown now and they seem to be all close to the Concordia area. I heard a lot about this place and their drinks always seems so Instagram worthy. I was here on a weekday afternoon during christmas break and the place was full of people, a line forming outside since only 4 people are restricted to the interior due to covid measures. I suppose many people order multiple drinks and this really slows down the line. From start to finish, it took me over half an hour to get my drink, luckily I didn't have much else to do... I got the classic Deerioca drink which is milk and syrupy brown sugar and tapioca bubbles. It is delicious and unfortunately it only comes in one size which I considered to be a small. They would not serve this in a larger format and you cannot customize the ice or the sugar levels for this one. At $6 a pop, I consider this a treat and not something I would get on a regular basis. Lots of tempting options on the menu, I would definitely come back if ever I was in the area, but it seems there are always lines, summer day or freezing cold covid winter day, be warned!

Wish there were more boba places around McGill but I can always count on Concordia for my bubble tea fix! The Alley is one of my favourite boba places in Toronto and was thrilled when I found this location tucked on rue Guy. Like the rest of the Alleys, the interior is very cozy with the huge tree in the centre, surrounded by brick and wooden details everywhere. There aren't many seats though, be ready to take it to go! The Deerioca drink is incredible and it even offers a soy milk option so me and my lactose intolerant brother and sisters can still indulge on this genius brown sugar concoction of sweet happiness without the usual side effects (if you know what I mean) :))) Cheers!

The drinks are decent. They taste similar to the Alley in taiwan and shanghai, but it seems like it's not as good as the ones in asia. The tapioca pearls were too hard and the tea were less strong. Personal fave on the menu is royal no9: it has a special distinct fruity/sweet taste that can't be found in any other boba places. The decorations inside is also exactly like their other locations worldwide. It's a very small store so it doesn't have many seats. The service is SLOW. I came here 10 minutes after they opened and there were only around 10 people before me. By the time I ordered and got my drinks, I waited for a total of 50 minutes. The only times I've waited this long for bubble tea was in Asia where there were literaly 100 orders before mine, not 10. The staff were very apologetic about it and I can feel that they do care. Since it's the first week, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I hope they will work on their work flow!

Returned for another visit. I seriously wish I had one of these in my neighborhood or state or country. It's that good. Went with the milk tea earl gray with coconut jelly. So refreshing! We bought two as we had a long trip back to the hotel and hours later the second one tasted just as fresh as the first did when we drank it. Busy place but they get the orders done fast. Great price for how good the tea is!

I couldn't help but notice this new bbtea spot since it was everywhere in IG and always had a long lineup. This chain has been raved about, so I had high hopes for it. I finally got to try the Orange Lulu while my friend tried their Peach Oolong. The Orange Lulu came in one size (small/regular) with fresh orange juice and pulp. While the drinks tasted fresh and were good and refreshing, I think they were overhyped. The prices were average, and you have the option to choose your level of ice and sugar like other places. With so many bbtea shops opening up around Guy, The Alley's drinks and quality doesn't seem any different from Kabiga Thé and Presotea. The Alley has good drinks and quality, I just don't think it's worth the long lineup and the wait for their drinks.

The Black sugar roasted ginger milk tea is a delicious warm beverage. The ginger gives a spiciness, combined with the sweetness of the black sugar, it's really good! There's an extra for the toppings. This place seems really popular, there are so many people coming in! From the yumminess of the milk tea, I definitely want to try their other stuff! As for the Brown sugar deerioca fever, while the beverage isn't sweetened, the tapioca balls are on the sweeter side, which balance everything. Since they make their own tapioca, it has a nice aroma of brown sugar. The Taro coconut milk has a generous amount of taro puree, even chunks of taro. This beverage is mildly sweetened. Recommended for those who love taro.

Love love love this chain! I'm obsessed with their deerioca, the brown sugar milk tea, it's so delicious and I usually don't like brown sugar milk teas at other places. I wish it came in a larger size like their other flavors! I also really like the Royal no8, it has a hint of blueberry flavor, the earl grey milk tea is also so yummmyyyyyy Some of my non-milky flavors are the Apple of my eye and white peach oolong! Definitely recommend this boba spot, I'm sad it's so far from my place though and I don't go downtown often!

I'm a frequent visitor and customer, but it's been twice I go and order two #1 (Brown Sugar Bubba) and I'm told "sorry we only have enough for one". Last time around I was like fair enough, and chose something else. This time again I went and ordered two #1 (Brown Sugar Bubba), to my surprise I got the same line "sorry we only have enough for one", I laughed it off and didn't think much of it, so I just ordered another kind for my second drink (which means that I technically took their very last Brown Sugar Bubba along with another kind of drink). Boy was I wrong, two asians walk-in right after me and order "two #1 Brown Sugar Bubba" (the same drink I was told they only had one left and that I supposedly bought their last). I get my drink and wait inside for a good 5 minutes inside waiting to see the order of the two asians being handed to them. It was taking too long, I was inside for over 5 minutes waiting already. So I decide to get out and as soon as I get out and the cashier notices I left, she hands the two Brown Sugar Bubba to the Asian couple that came after me. I waited some more outside and yet again ANOTHER Asian person got out with a #1 Brown Sugar Bubba! This is the SECOND TIME they lie to me saying they only have one Brown Sugar Bubba left and then sell their "Asian" clients after me the very same drink, they supposedly just sold out to me. LAST TIME I WILL EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE! DISGUSTING AND BLATANT RACISM (I don't take this word lightly but in this case it's clear), FAVOURITISM AND LACK OF BUSINESS ETHICS! You should be ashamed of yourselves. I referred many people to you and I drive from an hour away intentionally to buy my bubble tea from you and I get treated this way. SHAME ON YOU!

Tea was ok but nothing to flip about. Got charged 5 times for 2 drinks. When we explained the problem we were told refund would take 24 hours to be processed. It was not a credit card so we insisted to be refunded right away. Beware! Check your transactions! Service pretty much only in English.

Boo, I thought I was gonna be the first to review, but then again they've been open for a few days and seem to be pretty popular already. I guess we'll see if the hype continues...however, since they have a pretty decent product - I tried a small trio with two types of jelly and boba (I do concur with Justine S.; their boba are on the chewy side) - perhaps it will. They were out of their signature brown sugar milk or soy 'deerioca' tea, so will try that another time. The deer goes with their deer head logo :p. They have a nice list of items, including a Matcha version of their signature. The prices are a little high, but I guess that's typical these days. The service was welcoming and genuine - they were helpful with questions and I even heard a thank you, good night while walking out.

The only drink i go for is the Ube puff Deerioca. That stuff is amazing and the best boba ive had.

The Alley makes the best tapioca, hands down. Their signature deerioca drinks are to die for; with the perfect texture and brown sugar flavour. It's a real treat but it is quite sweet, as you cannot adjust the brown sugar that comes with it. I've been to the toronto ones and they are always PACKED. The montreal location is quite small with minimal seating, but the line goes fast enough. They also have a loyalty card/app that's quite useful and gives you a birthday drink too! Don't miss out! I love their drinks but since the cups are quite small for the price, it's not my absolute go-to spot for bubble tea. Get the matcha deerioca!!

I don''t understand why i waited 1 hour for a bubble tea. Didn't taste like anything special. Go to preso or chat time for faster and better bubble teas

We've been here multiple times and it is no question the best Bubble Tea in the city. We often drive from the suburbs specifically to The Alley for our BBT fix. You can definitely taste that the brewed tea is good quality, that they use real milk (and soy milk) and the bubbles are soft and chewy. My favorites are the Matcha Deerioca, the Milk Deerioca and the Hojicha latte. The staff is very friendly and helpful, even when there is a long queue.

I tried their specialty bubble tea with fresh milk and it tasted very good. The place is small and because of the recent opening, the queue is long. I was waiting for my order about 20 min. The price is a bit expensive as well.

This is some of the BEST BOBA I've ever had. I've had my fair share of boba, having been to New York, Boston, SF, and this is up there with the beet of them. Sometimes the line gets long but it's super worth it. The staff is friendly and the tea/tapioca pearls are SO GOOD. It was so good I went twice in two days! The brown sugar milk tea is super yummy, the hojicha latte and royal no. 9 tea were also amazing! I'm sure everything else on their menu is just as good.

Unless you want to wait over +20 mins outside and then wait another 15 mins for your bubble tea go ahead. You're better off finding another place. Had barely any options available. Don't waste your time.

This is by far the best boba place in Montreal! Their signature brown sugar drink (no. 1) tastes similar to other locations (e.g., Bangkok). It's been a month since they opened, so the wait time isn't long anymore. The prices are on the higher side, but it's worth it.

My new fav boba place in Montreal! I've been spoiled by living in California from all the great boba places and have been searching for something similar in Montreal. The alley has been the best bubble tea I've had so far, the other places don't really compare to me. I got the hojicha latte and it was perfect! Strong tea taste and was perfect at 25% sugar. It had a bit of a fine sandy texture which may sound bad but it actually made it way more high end tasting, not sure how to describe it but it was a good aspect. The tea reminded me more of a cross between green bean and green tea than the hojicha I'm used to, but it was great and refreshing. The boba was perfect texture as well. I'll be getting this drink again and trying others!

Tried the hojicha latte, with hope that finally we would have a good hojicha spot in Montreal. I fortunately it ended up being terrible, felt the powder in my mouth, and that's from a place that brags on making " authentic " tea.

First tried drinks from this chain in Toronto. Now I was excited that it was coming to Montreal and got disappointed after trying my go to drink from the store. The tea's flavour was less strong then when I got it in Toronto. I don't know if it's because the tea didn't have enough time to brew since the store is very busy or it's inherently like that. The people working there are very kind and will point out which drink is which if you ordered multiple drinks.

Cute, whimsical drinks in the heart of the Concordia's downtown campus! The bubble tea here was delicious, with customizable sweetness and ice levels, and a distinct tea taste that wasn't overshadowed by syrups and gimmicks (though there are plenty of those too, perfect for shameless pictures). We got a garden milk tea: a classic black milk tea topped with sweet cream, crumbled chocolate cookies, and a mint sprig to look like a lovely potted plant. You won't find any descriptions of the menu items, but staff are happy to explain what goes into them. Alternatively, you can always throw caution to the wind, live a little, and see if you can figure out what an "Iron Goddess milk tea" by taste alone. This Alley is also one of the most reasonably-priced bubble tea lounges in Montreal - a small will set you back about ~5, and a large ~5.50.

The brown sugar milk tea was fresh and crazy good! Well definitely try other flavors to see what more they have to offer!
