The most exciting new Tablet hotels for October 2021

"Set in a 19th-century Queen Anne–style house just a short walk from Hudson’s main drag, this hotel has undergone a thorough but sensitive renovation, updated with modern furniture and quietly chic design pieces." - Le Guide MICHELIN

We lived at the Amelia from 2020 to 2021 and very much enjoyed it. The location is incredible; a block form the metro and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the grocery. The bike trail is also only a mile away. We particularly liked the fact that the building is concrete slab, so there was no noise from the neighbors. The gym had everything we needed as well. Best of all, Grace and Camille were absolutely wonderful managers, always cheery and very responsive. We only moved because of COVID - we have been teleworking since early 2020 so we ended up not needing the metro and decided to move further out for a cheaper rate. Now that it's looking like a return to the office is in the works, we almost wish we hadn't moved!

I lived in the Amelia for 6 years. The building is quiet and clean. I never had an issue with the package room or mail being lost. Maintenance was quick to respond and fix everything from lightbulbs being out to our oven needing to be replaced. The amenities are good. We used the gym often and the building is so close to the metro, restaurants, Clarendon and Ballston, and the library. Our apartment had great lighting, panoramic windows, and our balcony had a view of the monument. We were able to watch the fireworks from home every 4th of July. And the sunrise in the morning was beautiful. The staff (Grace and Camille) are so wonderful and made staying here a great experience. When we moved out, we personally felt sad we wouldn’t be seeing them anymore! Considering our long tenure, we wish the main Dittmar office was more flexible for us during COVID and our sudden need to move and end our lease. However, we appreciate Grace and Camilles kindness and the time we had living here.

This management company is disgraceful. A month ago I reached out for assistance - I had to call the police on a roommate who was having a psychotic break and had to vacate the unit immediately out of concern for my safety. The resident manager, Kristin Clegg, was not willing to assist in coordinating a solution in regard to terminating the current month-to-month lease. I am unable to get ahold of the roommate and have gone back and forth with Kristin in detail explaining my situation trying to get some sort of human response with absolutely no luck. I returned to the unit and my room had been completely destroyed - glass chards everywhere, kitchen trash dumped out in my room, papers ripped up, bookshelf knocked over....I am not safe at this unit, I have voiced my concerns to the leasing office and have not received any feedback outside of reiteration of the VA leasing laws. If you are a young woman in the Arlington area I BEG YOU do not live in a Dittmar building. They do not care about the safety and wellbeing of their tenants - you're better off living in your car.

I have been living here in a one bedroom for about seven months. I adore living here: it's quiet, clean, and the staff are professional, nice, and responsive.

Yelp
Not a good place to rent if your a student. Management will report you to arlington county tax department if you car is not registered here. I'm here for school, now I have to pay personal property tax on a vehicle that was registered in another state. Also, There is never any paper in the computer room, management put up a sign to reuse paper that was already printed on.

Yelp
So the neighborhood is super cute and the view is to die. However this place was kind of weird. The closets were so tiny, and the place was a little dirty that we looked at. The gym was nice and it was super quite. Also the leasing agent was real sweet. I don't know, might be for someone but my roomie and I chose to go a different direction.
