Robot Waiters Have Descended on Roger Restaurant at the Ameswell Hotel in Mountain View - Eater SF

"The Ameswell Hotel is an independent hotel in Mountain View that debuted in mid-July along with its restaurant, Roger. Both the hotel and restaurant were developed as an homage to the nearby historic NASA Ames Research Center, and it’s living up to its tech-driven billing — it’s the first hotel in the United States to use Servi, a self-driving, indoor robot server, according to the Ameswell." - Clair Lorell

We stayed here for a couple of days during our recent visit, and it’s safe to say—we’ll definitely be back. From the moment we walked in until the day we checked out, the front desk staff provided an outstanding experience. Communication was seamless, and they were genuinely attentive to our needs. A special highlight: they surprised my little girl with some small toys, which absolutely made her day—such a thoughtful touch! 💛 The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We also appreciated that they provided a crib without any hassle, making our stay with a little one much easier. The lobby and lounge areas were inviting and aesthetically pleasing, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Breakfast was another standout—plentiful options, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. If I had to note one downside, it would be the sound insulation. The rooms don’t offer much noise cancellation—you can hear your neighbors next door and even footsteps (or bed-jumping!) from above. That said, we’re already planning to return—next time, we’ll be booking a top-floor, corner room for a quieter night’s sleep.

I've been coming to Mountain View on business for almost 20 years and have never come across a stylish hotel. Until I found this hotel. This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel, and the hotel is very stylish, including the rooms. And the price is not too expensive. There is a gym, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar, so you can enjoy yourself just inside the hotel. The hotel is very close to the Freeway exit, so it is easy to get anywhere you want to go. The hotel is reasonably priced, stylish, comfortable, and conveniently located. I will definitely stay here again next time!

The Ameswell is really beautiful. It's super clean, has a large variety of use areas to accommodate any need - from quiet privacy for working or reading, to fun play areas with people to engage with. It has a really nice outdoor area - pool, game area, airstream trailer serving coffee, lots of seating. The bar is great, the food at Roger (the restaurant) is great, if a little spendy. The Fly-By counter also has a nice selection of cafe style light bites and coffee drinks. Check in and out is easy. Rooms are really clean and relaxing.

I love this hotel. It’s a little gem in Mountain view. There is a great restaurant and coffee shop where I can get an espresso drink and fresh pastry as early as 6:00 am on weekdays. The rooms are modern and spacious. The bathrooms are gorgeous and i always notice how perfectly shiny the faucets are. Additionally there are plush white towels. They always have fresh mandarin oranges in the lobby for the taking. And i weirdly love the diamond shaped wooden magnetic keys for the elevator and room entry. i love to rent electric cars whenever I can and there are several charging stations on the premises. There is also a walking/running trail right next to the hotel and the hotel itself has a great gym. There is awesome access from 101 and 85 freeways but none of the freeway noise. I highly recommend this boutique hotel!

Google
One of the best hotel in the region if I'm asked . I was in some others in mountain view and redwood as well however the stay at ameswell was the best. I felt very comftable and a bit like at home. The Atmosphere in the lobby and restaurant is very pleasant and warm. The room was as well great regarding my taste. everything was pretty clean. No noises from the 101 but our room was on the opposite, however even in the floors were a direct view to the 101 was given there were no sounds from the 101, very pretty soundproffed windows. I can recommand the Hotel without exceptions and will be there next time again.

We stayed at the Amsewell for our friend’s wedding celebration in a room block reservation. The check in process and room was good, however we had a very poor experience with the restaurant and bar staff. There were so many rules that were not made clear to us and then we were reprimanded with no kindness. For example, we utilized the picnic tables in the courtyard activity area to enjoy an evening meal, the restaurant manager, Jacob approached us and told us we were not allowed to have any outside food on the premises. There was no signage posted anywhere explaining this rule and we were hotel guest. In a very unprofessional manner he told us to pack up everything and leave and would be back in 20 mins to check on us. We witnessed several other groups throughout our stay enjoying their own food by the pool in front of hotel restaurant staff with no issues. The final straw was my husband and the groom being refused service at the bar at 9pm sharp on Sunday by the same restaurant manager, Jacob. He claimed the bar was closed, but the website clearly listed the bar being open 7 days a week until 10pm. Not to mention the bartender was preparing cocktails for other guests no problem. It felt like we were continually targeted for no reason. We spent a significant amount of money at the restaurant bar over our 3 night stay. We were comped the $42 we charged to our room but not all the other money we spent on food and drink. I suggest management take this feedback to update your policies and menus to make the dining experience more hospitable for your guests. We will not be staying here again or recommending this hotel to others.

We stayed here for two nights and loved it! The atmosphere was so nice and super clean. They have everything you need and I loved the complementary waters in the room. Only con was the sounds coming from within the walls. We could hear everything the people above us were doing and the people next to us. I could hear upstairs walking to their bathroom, showering, flushing the toilet, etc. & the people next to us had kids and we could hear them jumping around. You could tell their headboard was on the same wall as ours, so it kept hitting our wall when we were trying to fall asleep. Other than that, we loved the hotel and the location.

Nice new hotel with good size room. Shower pressure isn’t great but pretty normal for California in my experience.||Bar is expensive, cheapest pint is $10 and cheapest wine is $15/glass. Although in the area that’s not very abnormal. Service was a little slow when they got busy. It seems they hold quite a few private events which closes off areas and makes it quite busy. ||A lovely walk Along the creek from the hotel. Great for a walk/tun/ride and felt safe. ||Pool is nice and towels are provided down there so nice and easy.||Loads of parking although it’s $20/day.

Yelp
Another great 3-night stay at The Ameswell. I had the same room type as before, but this one had one less window--so a little less natural light, but still a comfortable space. The bathrobes aren't the softest, but I'll never turn down a bathrobe. I included the Flyby Café breakfast credit ($20 per day), which got me a medium coffee and an almond croissant each morning--both excellent, but just note that $20 doesn't stretch far here. I requested a late checkout for 12pm. Unfortunately, I had an emergency and wasn't able to get back until 1:30pm, but the staff was unbelievably gracious. They gave me enough time to get packed and out, and I paid a modest fee for the extended time. Truly appreciate how accommodating they were during a stressful moment. This time I booked directly through their website--and oddly, weekend rates were cheaper than weekday ones. Worth checking the calendar if you're planning a stay. Still love this hotel and absolutely recommend it. Thoughtful service, great vibe, and a consistently solid experience.

Yelp
Makayla the bartender at the Roger Bar & Restaurant is the WORST person in that team. She was directly rude towards a customer in front of me and I felt her unprofessionalism and bad customer service first hand. All the other team members were great, however she specifically made my 4 day stay horrible after my 3rd day at the property. Great hotel, great team just one bad apple. Will double think about coming back to this place now. Sorry Ameswell team for the 3 star rating.

Yelp
We love The Ameswell Hotel! Every year we come to the Ameswell to celebrate on New Year's Eve and we always have a memorable experience. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. I also appreciate the choices made with regard to the decor. Very chill ambiance and great for families (including pets). The staff here are great as well and we've never had any complaints. There are many places to stay when celebrating the coming year, but I'm always glad we choose to stay at The Ameswell. Happy New Year Everyone! Cheers!

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels to stay at when I'm in the Bay Area. Convenient location for both work meetings and personal events. Right off the freeway, but you don't hear any of the noise! Their bar and restaurant downstairs is delicious, which is nice for nights when you don't want to go much further than the front door. They have accommodated both early check in and late check out. I highly recommend!

Yelp
We booked this place at the last minute and weren't sure what to expect. We arrived to dog bowls at the entrance. We have a French Bulldog and we loved that they love dogs as much as we do! We walked in to live music and a welcoming bar/restaurant area. Check in was easy and we made our way to room 305. We didn't sleep well because the A/C unit doesn't workBut they moved us to room 507 which was much better! Each room had a wooden stool in the shower so you could sit down and relax...put down a towel down before you sit down . The rooms were extremely clean, everyone was hospitable, and the drinks were good too! I grabbed a caramel latte with oatmilk and added 1 extra shot of espresso and I was in heaven! Gave 4 stars because of the issue in room 305. We will avoid room 305 and book here 1st whenever we visit San Jose!

Yelp
Overall, this is a solid spot to stay in the South Bay. The rooms are clean and quite spacious, and the lobby is moody with a modern aesthetic. The check in process was quick, but not particularly warm. I've stayed here twice and have recommended it to family and friends.

Yelp
Key takeaways * Rooms are very spacious, clean and sound proof * This is a wellness hotel and sustainable property * This a great place to hold weddings, events, and corporate meetings, and this can be a great staycation or workcation as well * This is an independent hotel that is state of the art and brand new at the heart of Silicon Valley Amenities/perks If you use a travel agent, Ameswell Hotel partners with Tablet Plus and can provide the following (message me to learn more *wink wink*): * Upgrade to the next room category, based upon availability at check-in * Early check-in/Late check-out * A welcome amenity or beverage * Daily breakfast for 2 * A food and beverage or spa credit The Ameswell Hotel is a new hotel that was built from the ground up in the heart of the Silicon Valley, nearby Meta, Google, Apple and Facebook headquarters. Opened in 2021 during the pandemic, this is frequented by travelers and those in the tech world. Not far from Moffett Field and NASA Ames Research Center, the hotel is reminiscent of a hangar. The "Roger" Bar is named after the phrase that pilots say and the lighting and paint scheme walking down the hallways are the colors you would see when taking off into space. The hotel has plenty of space for events, weddings, and after a quick tour around the property, it goes without saying that the hotel rooms are spacious and there are places to lounge outdoor. This a modern luxury hotel that has wellness rooms and focuses on sustainability. The hotel engages with the community and hosts many local activities. This is a perfect stay for anyone visiting the Bay Area, looking for staycations or wellness hotels, searching for a wedding venue or planning events. It's apparent when stepping into the hotel that this is a tech hotel. Checking in can be completed through a chatbot named Ava, who can contact the guest throughout the stay for any questions or for a check-out time reminder. There is as much or as little interaction with the staff as one would like. My first impression is the warm lighting, wooden fixtures, and artwork around the hotel. Ameswell hotel definitely has a lot of character with a luxurious and modern feel. This hotel focuses on sustainability and wellness. For wellness, complimentary yoga is available to all guests and there are options to book wellness rooms. For sustainability, the pool is saltwater; 96% of products in the hotel are biodegradable and compostable; solar panels power the hotel; drought resistance; and refill bottles are provided for each guest and there are refill stations throughout the hotel. Rooms/Event Space There are several different room types, such as Premium, Wellness, Superior, Deluxe, and Suites. There are 256 total rooms, which include 72 double, 11 suites of various sizes, and 173 single rooms. Wellness rooms have Lululemon Studio Mirrors and weight equipment within the room. The Ameswell Suite is the largest of the suites and popular for wedding parties at 955 sq feet, as large as a studio apartment. The room is designed so that there is a room within a room and it can also connect to a conjoining room. Each room has Ameswell-branded amenities with organic conditioners, shampoos, and lotions from Juice Beauty. Each room has all expected amenities, such as a bath robe, hairdryer, refrigerator, kettle, work-station, Santa Cruz individual drip coffee, and tea. Amenities like toothbrushes and combs are available upon request. There are plenty of meeting spaces and places lounge within the hotel. The spacious ballroom can be split into three different sections. This is popular for tech events and weddings. There is also the Discovery Boardroom and Curiosity Breakout Room to use for meeting space. To lounge, guests can check out the comfy Ames Library and spacious lobby. Events can be booked at the beer garden and outdoor areas. Larger and longer events cost more of course, and even larger events need a city approval due to the noise. Food and beverage will cost a 23 percent service fee. The gym is equipped with everything you need. The high-tech qualities are apparent in the hotel. Pelotons, Aviron rowing machines, treadmills, and a variety of free weights. Pelotons and Avirons are not common household exercise equipment, so it would be a miss not to try them out. The gym gets busiest in the mornings. Guests are able to book massages and treatments with the Rejuv Spa. It is not a full spa, so they use a room in the hotel. The massage table is heated. Restaurants and Room Service On the property, the main food spots are also aviation themed. Dining options include Roger Bar & Restaurant, the Fly-By, and outdoor beer garden/game lawn that serves drinks and small bites for happy hour. The Roger Bar & Restaurant has delicious American fare and drink. Happy hour is served daily.

Yelp
We came here with our pup for "Barks, Beer, & Brunch" event and really enjoyed it. The restaurant offered plenty of outdoor seating for the "pawrents" to enjoy a yummy brunch -- my friend had the salad and it looked amazing -- while the puppers got to play. They had a food truck that offered adult beverages and had a doggy menu. Oakley got a pup brew and a pot pie and he LOVED it. The brew smelled like bone broth but was sparkling. The event also helped raise money for the Humane Society, which is where we got our last two pups from, so that was great. I look forward to coming back for a stay and can't wait for their next event.

Yelp
5+ stars for this hidden gem. We are local and decided we needed a staycation and this place was fantastic! Excellent service at every touch point and super clean! Here is what you need to know: *property is beautiful and they have one full service restaurant, one coffee and quick bites place, and lots of places to hang out both inside and outside. Food was great and they have a full bar! They offer outdoor games, picnic tables, and they are super dog-friendly. *pool is narrow and long and in the sun most of the day. *rooms are styled beautifully and immaculate - you can tell they pay attention to details. *parking is $20/day in the structure with in/out privileges. *they are focused on sustainability- no plastic to be seen (which is great). *mix of business professionals and families with little ones. We can't wait to come and back!

Yelp
Clean & spacious room, mattress is good, internet speed is good enough, very good fitness center with ample & quality equipment, ample space outside to spend time outdoors, some very friendly and accommodative receptions but not all though. You have to pay for parking though :(. Based on this stay experience, I would definitely consider staying here again

Its beautiful the modern details, the bedding, the hotel layout, the lobby, the grounds. The whole thing is just beautiful.

Yelp
So Los Olivos no longer works with Good Samaritan and instead works with El Camino hospital...wait what? Is this a review for a hotel or a hospital? Well...I just had my 2nd child about 36 hours ago, and while the maternity ward is wonderful, this dad needed a room to recoup while momma recovered a second night. I found Ameswell as my dad retreat and boy am I happy I did. The reviews are spot on. This spot is a hidden gem. Every single person I've interacted with, from the receptionists, to the cleaners, and the friendly bartender at the Roger all enjoy where they work and you can really tell. The room is super clean, decorated tastefully, and thanks to the layout seems HUGE. I got the Ameswell Suite which might be a bit overkill for going solo but I default always to getting the flagship. Two full bathrooms, two tvs, two refreshment areas and gorgeous views. The bed feels like heaven (might be biased after sleeping on a foldout chair for a night). Anyhow, definitely a hip spot with lots of wonderful people lingering around. If you're a father in a similar spot I highly suggest giving yourself an escape at the Ameswell hotel.

Yelp
The Ameswell has sort of a fancy name to suggest a wood paneled business hotel. Alas, the name is made up, after the Ames research center next door. But the hotel certainly is upscale. You can tell by the pricing--300+ during the week, and half that during weekends. The theme is historic aerospace, for the old Hanger One just across the freeway. They have old blimp models, wooden propeller decorations, and wing a construction motif hanging from the ceiling. The Ameswell Room is a cool little library/lounge with aviation books and models, and a couple cushy sofas. The Roger Bar (roger roger), has a morse code motif. Pretty cool for hanging out. Breakfast is good too. There's also the flyby coffee bar, with artisan beans and pastries from manressa breads (five star). The tasteful rooms have excellent linens, lux bathrooms, and robes. The flatscreen is the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel. We had a close up view of 101, but the sound proofing was excellent. We couldn't hear a thing! If your per diem limits are big enough, you'll enjoy this place. It's close to google and microsoft. If you're looking for a staycation, get the weekend rate. And bring Fido!

Yelp
This is my third stay here and all the times were 5 stars! The rooms are always top notch clean and smells nice! The staff are friendly and respectful! Always greets you with a smile. Growing up in Mountain View I have always seen this place empty and non existent and it's so cool to see it come to life and become this beautiful hotel! The theme is nasa themed. So nostalgic! Their pool is saltwater and HEATED!! They also welcome your fur baby's and have a huge open space for them to roam around at. I love this hotel and my girlfriends and I are starting to make our staycations here more often! ALSO! The Roger's (their very own restaurant in the premises) have the best wedge fries and avocado toast

Yelp
I attended a concert here and was able to book a last minute room since it's a long drive back after seeing three bands. It's close to Shoreline but it's better to ride share or drive into the venue. Getting a ride share back was a bit of fiasco and took an hour! I swear the bands must have left before we did. Parking: Parking is self park. The structure is next to the hotel, but close access. The corridors are very long that instead of taking the elevator, we found it easier to take the stairs to our room. We didn't get to check it out but the gym and the pool look inviting. The restaurant had great cocktails! Very good for happy hour. Rooms: Wow I still think of ours. - Robes - Fellows electric tea kettle (I am getting one for Xmas or Birthday) - The in room coffee/tea - excellent! - I like the layout with how the room was organized to place our belongings, to the desk and the lounging area. To sit in our robes in the lounging area and drink coffee was nice. - We had a view of the freeway, but didn't hear anything. - Beds were comfortable, I slept like a baby and a full 8 hours! - The best part was the A/C. You know how some hotels where the AC goes off when you're about to go into REM? This one hummed me to sleep and the temperature was perfect! This is the main reason I would stay here again. My only knock was the service at the coffee bar the next morning. That and the condiment area was messy. I understand there is a staffing issue but I would probably opt to go out to brunch in DT Mt. View next time.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here. Checked in on Friday, June 10th and checked out on Monday, June 13th (Room 408). Comfortable beds, pillows and blankets. We liked the feel of it. All were well rested. Plenty of seating areas to lounge around. Easy access to the restaurant; we didn't have a chance to dine here though. Staff: I spoke to Brian on the phone to request for an iron. He was professional. Fee: $358.78 plus $35.88 taxes & fees was for Friday, June 10th. Likes: -Toiletry dispensers: shampoo, conditioner and cleanser. Loved the scent! Very aromatic! Note: -Two complimentary water bottles -No iron in the room

Yelp
Super clean and relatively new hotel in Mountain View. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly, and our room was spacious! The most remarkable thing about this hotel is now quiet it is. A concierge told me that they have triple-panes windows. The hotel is close to Moffett Field and next to the freeway, and you can't hear absolutely anything in the rooms except for when other guests slam the doors! It was so peaceful and tranquil. It is very calm throughout the day, but at night the Roger Bar and Restaurant downstairs gets busy! They have a spacious outdoor seating area with a fire pit and games for families with children. This hotel was such a breath of fresh air!! We'll be back!

Yelp
We highly enjoyed our visit here for a work event. All the hors d'oeuvres, main course, sides, and desserts are customized by the in-house restaurant. The outdoor bars were pretty awesome and were equipped to make most drinks, such as the moscow mule, red bull vodka (which I both drank), mojito, etc. They also provide some non-alcoholic options, in the forms of mocktail and others. The outdoor setting is posh and have some fun games such as cornhole and a giant connect four. For the main course, they provided a combination of hummus and pita, salad varieties, rice chicken, and salmon. The desserts were simple but delicious, with a choice between whip cream & fruit, or a sweet lemon tart. I got to peek inside, and there were lots of cool future / space themed lounge areas for parties of 4-8. Anyway, definitely check this place out for events or to cap off a day after work.

Yelp
Beware hidden fees and scrutinize your guest folio to avoid being overcharged! Upon check in the front desk confirmed that my room was paid and then asked if I had a car. When I said yes, they provided a parking pass never mentioning there would be a charge. Upon checkout I noticed a charge for two nights parking despite staying just one night. Guest experience supervisor Malena Martinez informed me charges were non refundable, did not apologize, and promised to send an undated folio I never received. Her comment: " We have adjusted the charge accordingly." Very disappointed with this experience and will not return, despite the great proximity to Google HQ.

Yelp
our stay was pleasant, but at $404 for two nights -- it left 3 things to be desired: 1. the hotel had a carpeted apartment gym scent. not bad, just sterile and not very relaxing 2. paid parking. junk fees -- tired of seeing this across the hotel industry. this one was no exception -- $17 a night for self parking outside of a large urban area. found alternative parking 3mins away. . . 3. beds. paper thin comforters and hard mattresses. low quality hybrid mattress with few coils or inner springs -- disappointing positives -- deathly quiet HVAC we had an afternoon departure on sunday & late checkout was granted (thank you) in the late evening, housekeeping brought an additional duvet to our room would return if -- 1. paid parking is removed or incorporated into each room rate (add it in or remove it all together) 2. mattresses were replaced for a hotel of this class, I would rather stay at hyatt centric mtn view or the westin palo alto. the headboard in our room was indicative of the experience -- the built in outlet was falling out. the wood grain did not match the grain of the desk or the furniture and trim in the rest of our room. it was off. details matter

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay and extended an extra night to make the most of our visit in the Bay Area! Nice clean pool and gym. The three type water fountain was a one-of-a kind perk, and we were more hydrated on our trip as a result. Hotel staff like the cleaning crew and the head coffee barista were personable and welcoming, making tailored lattes to our liking and taking care of our room needs like towel refills without asking. We appreciated the modern and stylish vibes and decor, the color tones and musical ambience were aesthetically pleasing-- felt peaceful and relaxing in the lobby/restaurant area even when people were doing their usual bustling to check in or out. Never thought I'd leave a hotel review but this review is well deserved. Five stars!

Yelp
This review is for the ResortPass use of the hotel pool. The hotel itself looked very nice, the staff at the front desk and restaurant were excellent. However, the ResortPass pool experience was absolute hell and the hotel doesn't even uphold their own rules or try to keep things at a sane level. The pool is full of kids, the staff are completely uninvolved in the pool area except for stocking it. We had kids (including teenage sized) doing cannon balls over and over soaking our belongings - the pool area is not very large and there's limited space. We did not get to use the pool because the cannon balls and it was full of young children in floaties - again the pool is very small to begin with. It was so awful.

Yelp
This is a solid hotel with modern aesthetics. It's very quiet, clean, and baby friendly (will accommodate a baby crib upon request). We had to go to SF and Santa Clara so this hotel was the perfect location. We enjoyed our stay and have nothing to complain about!

Yelp
I haven't stayed at the innovative, independent hotel, but I did visit the downstairs lobby, lounge, and outdoor areas as a guest of Roger. (The bar, not the dude). The lounges are nothing like those one-word lounges in Vegas (Rain, Tao, Inspire, Herpes): these are small, decorative spots to sit.. with a bar just steps away. One of the lounges is a room behind a gold paper beaded curtain in a modern and minimalist cove with a half circle of plump couches and LED screens for art. The other small lounge is a cozy and warm library full of curios and books on flight. It's for the birds. The outdoor area near the gated pool has restaurant tables under umbrellas, two fire pits, and an outdoor game area near an Airestream, all under wedding lights. The game area has a paved area for cornhole, a huge Connect Four, a giant Jenga, and other games, plus a lawn for frisbee and watching the mosquito races (nightly, at dusk!). So, even if you don't stay here, I recommend at least going to the 10 acre grounds for a drink (especially happy hour). Check separate reviews for Roger. (The bar & restaurant, not the dude).

Yelp
We stayed one night at Ameswell and were so impressed with the hotel. It is such a beautiful, immaculate, aesthetically pleasing hotel with great attention to detail throughout the property. The low amber lighting and warm wood finishes set off the perfect vibe. Lots of areas with comfortable seating to sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail. Our room was very modern and felt spacious. The small touches like in-room complimentary water, coffee and tea added to the overall experience. After check in, we headed to the Roger Bar and enjoyed a few drinks before getting a table and enjoying dinner. The Flyby cafe offered fantastic breakfast bowls, sandwiches, pastries and great coffee which were all very well priced. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Ameswell. We'll be back soon.

The staff @Ameswell Hotel are the best. They help me with all my needs and answered all of my question. The coffee maker was not heating the water correctly. I called the front desk and in 5 minutes the hotel engineer was standing at our door with a new one. I needed to check in a couple hours early and without flinching they told me," no worries come on in and find something for you.." First Class All the Way.... Victor and Laura

Yelp
Quick checkin, close to restaurants and shoreline amphitheater, clean and new. We went to the spa for massage too. It was so relaxing.

Yelp
Great hotel. Stayed for the Sam hunt concert. The highlight was the bath robes 10/10. Real roomy...the room and the bath robe. Great for cartwheels.

Yelp
We liked everything about, pool, yard with games, welcoming bar(expensive) and well appointed common areas. Room was a nice size with comfortable bed, plenty of lighting, nicely fragrant toiletries by Juice. A very arty place. We got a good deal on line. Don't know if we would be able to splurge again. It was a great place to stay before and/or after a show at Shoreline.

Yelp
This hotel is so beautiful! We attended a wedding here over the weekend. Check in and check out was fast, efficient and professional. You can do it online and get a mobile key or check in at the front desk. I decided to check in at the front desk. The front desk was very polite and greeted me right away. Explained where things were at the hotel and so on. The rooms are pretty roomy. It was very nice and clean. Beds were comfy. Bathroom is beautiful and showers are spacious. They provided which seemed like high end soap, shampoo and conditioner. It smelled really good and soft on my skin. Hotel was clean inside and out, very well maintained. They have a parking garage with lots of parking. The newlyweds had told me that it was the hotels first wedding since it being built and opening about 3 months ago. The wedding staff did an awesome job with the food and drinks. We also dined at the bar for breakfast before checking out. The food was ok. They had forgotten our sides of bacon but once they found out, it had come out pretty fast.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised. This hotel, which is likely a new property, is clean and well appointed. My room had everything I needed and the staff was very pleasant. Their lobby bar/ restaurant was very good as well. I'll definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Had a great stay, room was clean and spacious, the hotel lent umbrellas out to guests, as it was pouring rain that week. Amenities were great, location was conveniently by the freeway exit. Parking was $20 a night in the garage by the hotel. Went to happy hour down at the bar, had a great time.

Yelp
A relative newcomer to the hotel scene in Mountain View, I spent a night here recently as a staycation. My room overlooked the pool, but the soundproofing was great and I didn't hear any noise or music thankfully. The room was comfortable and nice, but it seemed a bit overpriced. My room had a huge shower, but no bathtub. The pool was refreshing, but I thought the music was too loud (and unnecessary). Parking was advertised as an additional charge, but thankfully they weren't charging during my stay. (You're right off 101, there's no reason to charge for parking here.) Breakfast is not included in their rates, but there is a little takeaway café and a full restaurant off the lobby. I'm rounding up to 4 stars because I like to support independent hotels, but the parking fee and lack of included breakfast are big disappointments.

Yelp
I stayed here twice for a total of 4 nights & could not have been more pleased. While this hotel sits off of a busy road the grounds & the hotel are very quiet & feel removed from the hustle & bustle. Having said that, it is really easy to hop onto the highway to get where you need to go in the area. We were in the area to drop my son off at college & to shop for his school needs so we found it to be pretty close to anything we needed during that time. Checking in & out was easy & quick. The front desk staff were kind & helpful, even coming up with suggestions on where we could spend part of a day trying to celebrate my youngest son's birthday in the area. It's never fun to miss out on your birthday & since we were set to drop his brother off at college on his actual birthday, I greatly appreciated their willingness to provide suggestions. Parking is offered in a private parking garage that is very close to the building & we never had trouble finding a spot. It is also used by people going to the restaurant & bar but it seemed generally safe from break-ins as long as you don't leave anything out & visible. Employees use the upper floors to park so there are people with eyes out throughout the day & night as they too go to & from their cars. I believe it was $20/night for parking which I didn't like but it is part of visiting California I guess. The downstairs of the hotel is pretty intimate & cozy. The decor is impressive, unique & visually appealing. There are multiple gathering spots from the couch in the lobby, to seating next to a small fireplace as well as a rounded sitting room that is separated by a metallic curtain to meet with your party. All is located near the bar & restaurant. We had brunch one day at the restaurant & although the menu was a little limited, the food & service was great. Outdoors, there is a vintage airstream camper that apparently opens on certain nights to serve drinks on the lawn. With plenty of outdoor seating & fire pits, there's ample space for larger parties to hang out & enjoy the night air together even on the chilly ones. Since I was there with my boys, ages 10 & 18, we really enjoyed the lawn games & we spent a few hours in the nighttime playing connect four, Jenga & corn hole. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool. The rooms however were definitely the highlight for me. My kids would probably say I can be miserable to travel with because when I stay at hotels I literally notice EVERYTHING & the cleanliness of a room is so important to me to feel comfortable. I have to say that, in my experience, their housekeeping department is obviously outstanding. During each of our stays both rooms were impeccably clean which for me was a huge plus. The rooms felt open & spacious. The decor aligned with the rest of the hotel- modern, bright & colorful but very cozy & tastefully done. As you enter, there is a large lighted wardrobe with a sitting bench, an open closet, an electric kettle, a mini fridge, a safe suitable for a laptop and the usual tea & coffee set ups. At one point we requested a microwave too which was delivered to our room pretty quickly despite the late hour. Hanging up are robes to use, however I'm not sure who can fit them as they were gigantic (and I'm not a particularly thin woman). Housekeeping did enter while we were gone 2 days in a row to clean but we were grateful as they completely restocked & cleaned everything fully. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was just right. After a 16 hour drive we could not have asked for a better bed to sleep in. Each morning, we all awoke refreshed & feeling ready for the day. The only thing I would say (and I'm not sure to be honest) but I wondered if perhaps midway through the night if the air conditioning shuts off as I did awake a few nights feeling hot. I've noticed this at other hotels more recently & it's evil if so ;-) I've now stayed over 40 nights in various hotels & Airbnbs in the Bay Area over the past 2 years. While this place may not have the beautiful coastal views or be in a unique downtown area, I'd have to say this is definitely my top pick for hotels in the area. It comes at a price but I am sure I will choose this hotel again the next time I'm back in the area.

Yelp
Large, comfortable and well-appointed rooms. Helpful staff, but with keyless or keyed entry and an on-site bar, restaurant, cafe, gym, pool there isn't much that you'll need to ask for. Such a wonderful place to stay when you can't be home. Reading a book or enjoying a night cap by the fire is a regular way for me to wind down after a long day.

Yelp
Stayed here for only one night during a business trip. Wow, the room had pretty much everything you'd want in a hotel room (except for slippers and an enlarging mirror for me). Super comfortable bed, bathrobes, fluffy towels, large mirrors, cozy lightings, very simple but elegant pot to make hot water to make coffee or tea... Everything was neat and clean. The interior design is hip but classy. I would love to stay there again.

Yelp
Our overall experience at The Ameswell was positive, though most of our interaction was with the wonderful staff at The Roger. However, just after midnight of our overnight stay, the smoke detector in our room started beeping (due to low battery issues). When I first called the front desk, they explained there was no maintenance site on staff, but someone could check on the room in the morning. Given the time, I understood and agreed someone could check the room around 7am (that was the earliest maintenance would arrive). After giving it some thought, I realized the batteries just needed to be replaced, so I called and asked for 2 AA batteries. After a brief hold, I was informed that there were no batteries - anywhere in the hotel - to replace the ones in our smoke alarm. When I asked what else could be done, the front desk associate said we could move to a different room - but we'd have to move my sleeping children and all our belongings to a different room. At this point, it's almost 1am, and we didn't want to wake our kids or re-pack all our belongings. When my husband asked if we could sleep in another room, the front desk associate said not without moving our belongings - b/c it would be like having a free room, and someone else needed the room the next morning. But that didn't make any sense - no one would be moving into our room until the following afternoon, since checkout is at 12pm and check-in is at 3pm. Unfortunately, we didn't receive assistance that night - and we replaced the batteries ourselves. Would I recommend staying here? Most likely not. But we do encourage you to check out the grounds, eat at The Roger, hang out for a bit - it's a great space, dog-friendly (which was what attracted us in the first place) and there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. Stay if you can get a deal, but maybe just pack your own maintenance kit.

Yelp
I coordinated a girls local weekend getaway here and it was really great and relaxing. The room prices are reasonable and the hotel is brand new, modern and the front staff was very friendly. The outdoor pool was on the smaller side but cute and clean. They have both pool lounges and little shaded couch areas to sit down and enjoy the water. The bar is nearby, in the restaurant and self-serve. It would have been nice to have the little Winnebago bar open for an outdoor bar option. It would be much more comfortable to not have to get redressed to get to the bar.. I mean we would have ordered way more if we could just go to the lawn right outside for poolside drinks/snacks. That is a missed opportunity...too bad they only use it for some events but was told by Bartenders that they would pass along my feedback. The restaurant Roger was not busy but service was friendly just very slow. I'm guessing staffing issues. The food was very good but limited menu options. Also we stayed on the property to hang out by the fire pit and have drinks at night... but they closed their kitchen early so when we got that night sweets craving... they had no options and nothing close by to walk to. Again, missed opportunity to have a little lobby shop open late night with chips/candy/bars something or set that Winnebago to be open during lunch and evenings to serve drinks and desserts -sell se churros & hot cocoa at Night by the fire pits! The crowd was young and apparently had a lot of friendly military guests from Moffett Field staying there so the bar was busy. The hotel has alot of potential it just needs some additions to service and atmosphere options to make this the perfect getaway for a weekend and or a business stay during the week.

Yelp
Spend my husband's birthday here recently and we absolutely loved it here. The room was clean and gorgeous. The accommodations were very comfortable. The staff were nice and courteous and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend getting your breakfast/brunch at the Flyby. There is a pool and fitness center, too. We will definitely return!

Yelp
The Ameswell Hotel. People.... WELCOME!! An extended Birthday Wknd and the Mrs makes me drive to Mt View and me not knowing where the hell im driving to. On 101 North and tells me to exit Moffet. And then she tells me to make a right turn on a long strip of a driveway, I notice the hotel and reads The Ameswell. Parked in a secured parking structure and walked in the lobby and was greeted by the concierge/s - very welcoming and hospitable. Walked around the hotel and the lobby and there sure was a lot to look at! Check out my photos!! From the first floor lobby, wining, dining, reading/lounge areas, to our room we got for the wknd.. STAYCATION was in full effect!!! A brand new hotel, great staff, the room we stayed in, the bar/restaurant, reading areas, outdoor patio, an airstream, huge area to play and run around.. this place is awesome and will definitely come back again for another Staycation!!

Yelp
We stayed here one night. The place seemed nice but didn't utilize any of the restaurants or outdoor space. The bed was comfortable but the extraneous lighting in the room was awful: we had to cover the bright green light on the thermostat, we unplugged the bright blue "night light," the screen for the exercise mirror took awhile to turn off, and the TV turned on at least twice by itself in the middle of the night, hence why I'm writing this review at 4 a.m. Overall, it was a nice place to stay. The lights were just annoying to us.
