This place deserves zero stars!! This place is a dump!! They have a real low life employee by the name of Aries Pang. He has no clue the difference between a studio and a one bedroom apartment. He is rude and has zero customer service skills and zero people skills. The Apartment Source should fire him immediately. I heard him making fun of some of his co-workers as well as clients. What a piece of trash!

Our experience with Hadi was great! He was punctual in meeting us at the unit for a tour. He was knowledgeable about the unit, and the landlords, and very willing to answer all of our questions. He was very clear about the process, and honest with us as well which we really appreciated. He helped us present the best offer to the landlords in terms of lease, fees, etc. He is very easy to communicate with via email, text, and call and is always quick to reply. He kept us looped in with every step of the process and explained answers thoroughly. We felt comfortable asking him questions and discussing feedback, etc. We recommend!

If I could give 0 stars I would. RUN don't walk away from The Aprtment Source/TAS Management as a building management company, they are not only carless and negligent but intentionally and knowingly violate the Tenant/Landlord Ordinance of the City of Chicago. Here is my horror story of an experience living in one of their properties... When we moved into our unit there was dust and debris everywhere, urine on the toilets, and we had to pay $350 to have it cleaned (TAS said they would clean it after we discovered the filth on our move in day - they sent a maintenance guy who removed some paint buckets that were left and did 0 cleaning. They refused to reimburse us for the cost to clean). Within 2.5 months of moving in, we discovered there was an existing rat infestation in the building that had not been addressed prior to us moving in. They provided no assistance with said infestation (they sent 1 exterminator who put down ONE - ONE - glue trap. We had to pay for exterminators ourselves, purchase traps, and caught 5 RATS ourselves - and again they would not reimburse us for the cost). The day we moved in we also notified them that the door leading directly from our unit to the backyard/alleyway (all glass french doors that opened directly into our kitchen/dining room) had NO LOCK ON IT. It remained that way for over 6 months. Anyone could have come in. I had to buy a security alarm system because we felt unsafe for ourselves and our belongings - and again, TAS did not reimburse us for the cost. They said it took 6+ months to get a lock because, and I quote, "french doors are difficult, nearly impossible, to install a lock on." After 1 phone call threatening legal action as it violates the tenant ordinance and city code (prompted by someone actually breaking into our yard and me having to chase them away), they finally showed up and installed a lock the next day. It was interesting that the maintenance man who installed the lock confirmed there was absolutely no issue in installing the lock - he mentioned that they just didn't want to pay for a licensed locksmith to do the work so he needed time to "figure out" how to do it on the french doors. The coup de grâce for any remaining hope we had that TAS would have some integrity and be a diligent and professional management company has been their knowing, intentional, and blatant violation of the Chicago Landlord/Tenant Ordinance in regard to our utilities. We have complained to them since March of 2022 that we were being charged the cost for the common area utilities (outdoor, garage, hallways, entrance etc.). They have never provided a solution despite me following up since March of 2022. We finally moved out on 6/20/24, and have ignored me/refused to respond to me since 7/15/24 when I declines the EXTREMELY small amount they said was their "best and final offer" to reimburse us for the electric bills. COMED has confirmed there is no real way for them to put a monetary amount on the amount of electricity that was used. TAS has simply ignored all of my requests for the landlord (building owner's) name/contact information so that I can file a lawsuit against both them and the landlord to recoup our electricity costs and get some punitive awards for their knowing and intentional violations. TAS is a large and robust professional property management company with over 50 real estate professionals (per their website) who by nature of that claim I would assume are well versed in tenant-landlord ordinances and rights. Being well versed in, and abiding by, landlord tenant law is a main pillar of their business function as a property management company. they violated this law consistently, multiple times and in multiple circumstances, even after they were made aware, for 2.5 years. They are slum lords, and I would be remiss if I did not warn the general public about doing business with them. Not just an awful company, an unlawful one as well. SO - I have had to hire an attorney and we are preparing a lawsuit. I hope no one else has to experience that abject dereliction of duty TAS has demonstrated.

I would like to leave a review for Carmelo Preiti. Carmelo did a wonderful job giving me a tour of the Elmwood Park apartment I was interested in. His communication is top tier. He makes sure to keep in touch with you and be available for when you need assistance. He is very professional, attentive and knows the real estate business really well. Carmelo answered all my questions and went through every detail in the lease with me before signing it. If you need help finding a place - you can absolutely rely on him. I highly recommend !!!!

If you're reading this, you've probably already found out that apartment hunting in Chicago is an absolute sh!t show. But like, why should you deal with all those headaches if someone else could be doing that for you? You shouldn't; you're popular and busy and other cool stuff like that, and you straight up don't have the time. So out of all the agents knocking down your current door in order to get you behind a new one, who should you trust? I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell you it would be super dumb of you not to pick Eddie Lehman. He's quick, dedicated, has an awesome beard, and is maybe the most communicative person I've ever spoken with. He always responded the moment he could, would jump on a call if things were confusing, did extra leg work to secure us a parking spot from an unaffiliated company near our new apartment, and was even willing to help us with some property questions after the lease was signed. We genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I can't recommend Eddie enough.

I called the Apartment Source about a week ago hoping to get help finding a new apartment. I was asked some questions, then placed on hold for 45 minutes before being hung up on. Holding out hope that they were simply busy with rental season fast approaching, I called back - only to be met with an agent who was not very polite to me, and told me that they would look into their apartments and send me alerts. I have yet to hear a single response from them. Considering the rude associate, hold time, and lack of response I experienced - seek out a smaller, more personal realtor. After this experience I would be uncomfortable letting Apartment Source handle my home.

I have reached out several times to Miguel and he has not been helpful at all. He has not told me any information about the apartments I'm interested in or ones they have available. I got one response via text just saying "yes we have apartments available" and I received nothing after that. I have emailed and texted a few times. I went with a different company that actually cared about helping me find an apartment.

I never leave bad reviews, but when you're constantly let down trying to find an apartment with a leasing agency and they completely disappointment you and ghost, others need to be warned. The leasing agents are inexperienced. They drop the ball on listings, treat renters like a transaction and don't listen to their apartment needs. The director Dan is just as bad as them. Promised to send listings and make it right. He never did. I called the office back to speak to him the following day. They said he was busy and he would call me back; he never did. This company is a disappointment; over promises and under delivers.

terrible management, I requested a tour over a week ago. I finally get a tour date and time set resulting in a no show and an email a today state the unit was rented. Due to lack of communication I do not recommend.

I rented an apartment in Chicago through The Apartment Source beginning on December 30th, 2022 and the apartment had no heat or hot water for the first four days that I was there. The apartment I rented has been an absolute nightmare, and The Apartment Source has been so help whatsoever. They were extremely responsive throughout the period when they wanted money from me, but that quickly changed after everything was paid. I find it hard to believe that they're not aware of the management practices of the person I rented from. I have received repeated abusive, insulting e-mails from my new landlord, and this has been the worst rental experience I've ever had

Why can't I leave a sub ZERO rating. Dan is their manager. He is not up front and does not return calls unless he is making money from you. Tyson the owner is full of it as well and has a serious attitude problem. The apartments they show are horrible. Like frightening tenements in some horror movie. Run like hell and find an honest rental agency. Good luck since so many are horrible like this. Do it on your own.

I don't normally leave bad reviews but I really feel the need to warn people about this company. I called them out for listing fake ads online and their response so far has been to ignore that and post several fake 5-star Google reviews. My only interaction was with one leasing agent on Zillow (Eddie) who told me my search criteria was "extremely specific" and suggested I lower my standards. Funny that he'd say that when the fake ad he posted met my criteria exactly. Hmmm... rude and shady! Avoid avoid avoid. These people are not honest.

Let me start out saying that Kayla Longstreet & Laura Calderon were a pleasure to work with and helped me out SO much my time with Apartment source. When we rented our apt on the fifth on Hazel we had many issues with the place starting at most of the appliances in the apt not working to having problems with payments being tracked to having my furniture being taken out of the apartment! The first leasing agent i had would take days to get back to me sometimes a full week! If you call the phone someone picks up 50% of the time and even if you leave a voicemail you are lucky to get a call or email back. Thankfully Laura and Kayla were consistent, kind, and helpful when answering any questions or problems I had but unfortunately for them my opinion of Apartment Source had already been soured. If you are looking to rent from them make sure you ask for these two wonderful ladies by name otherwise I can't guarantee your happiness.

This review is for Carly Boles. Like most we are currently working from home and so when renters have come to view our unit, we have been occupying the space at the time. In fact, over 75% of the units we toured ourselves were occupied by the current tenants. This has so far gone very smoothly with brokers and their clients each being respectful. Until today. Our property manager has specifically listed that masks must be worn and shoes removed. Carly had to be asked to put on a mask and had to be asked that she and her clients remove their shoes, we provide hand sanitizer and they had to be asked to use it. As for the gloves and hands in pockets they mention above on their page, that was not done AT ALL. Everyone was hands on doors and items the whole time. When the male on the tour began to move things and video us and our unit without first asking our permission I asked him to please stop. He explained that his gfs roommate couldn't come so he was making this for her. I explained it was still not polite to do this without asking and was making me uncomfortable. Carly became argumentative with me about this telling me it was not "typical". I don't care what she deems typical. As a realtor representing this company it is her duty to respect our things, safety and boundaries while we still live, rent and remain in the home. I don't know her or her clients, people do all kinds of weird crap these days. After the tour we also realized they left our back doors unlocked and had we not checked them, could have been exposed to the consequences of that. What if we were not home and our things walked off? Completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

Only place to contact for anything Real Easte in Chicago! WOW AMAZING Leasing, buying, selling and Managment. They literally do it all.

Do not rent from here I submitted an application didn't here anything for two weeks then they ran my application dinged my credit then they rented the unit out to other tenants that submitted apps after to me dissatisfied with the service and will not be renting from this company

Incredibly trustworthy, personable, and professional. Griselda was everything you could hope for in a rental agent, and I highly recommend working with her! Being new to the area, we were unfamiliar with a lot of the process and she was so patient and kind to my husband and I. She even personally curated a list of places to us within our budget and specifications. I scheduled a viewing for a studio going for $850 like 2 days in advance with Malcolm and it was a disaster. I text him that I was running late for the viewing only to find him standing there at the front door looking for the key in the lock box. So I get all the way there, only to find out that Malcolm did NOT have the key for our scheduled viewing. So we decided to look at two another available units. When we got there, they both turned out to be 1 bedrooms and WAYYY out of my price range which was discussed prior to the viewing. When we viewed the 1 bedroom (which he knew I was uninterested in) I saw furniture left from the past tenants who stayed in that unit. I asked him if he could find out if I could take the furniture. Malcolm told me he would reach out to The Apartment Source after Labor Day to ask, but I never heard from him. So he basically ghosted me. Malcolm was suppose to reach out to me so we could schedule another day to view the studio we were suppose to see the first time. But he ignored my call and messages. I eventually had to reach out to Dan from The Apartment Source who also had no idea of the availability of the units they were renting. He eventually got another agent, Rachel, to reach out to me, who also had no idea about the availability of the unit I originally scheduled a viewing for. The Apartment Source basically wasted my time knowingly posting units on Craigslist that are not available just to get me inside the door. They didn't even have the decency to tell me they didnt have the key for the schedule viewing. I do not recommend them because they will send you on a run around when they already know their listings are false and inaccurate. Beware that the Apartment Source will post fake listings with fake prices just to get you in the door. They update their listings on a daily knowing that they don't exist.

Greg Firak was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely responsive in addressing my plethora of questions and concerns. Additionally, he worked with me through the weekend to ensure my fiancé and I secured a lease on our #1 apartment option before someone else. I would highly recommend - especially if you're new to Chicago!

Hadi Sharabi hooked us up with the most baller apartment. He was so quick and helped us secure a very in demand apartment that was going to rent quick. I will be asking him for help every time I need an apartment going forwards! Thank you Hadi!!!

I was looking for a specific apartment style in a tough market and not only was I able to find the perfect place for me, thanks to Marty Peterson's expert guidance, but I was able to do it extremely quickly thanks to all the leg work Marty put in up front. He was professional, quick to respond, helpful with my questions, and clearly had my best interests at heart at time of lease application/negotiation. I have nothing but nice things to say and would absolutely use them again for apartment hunting help.

Cory at the Apartment Source was awesome! I was relocating to Chicago from out of state and was looking at places pretty early and had reached out to Cory and he was extremely polite in letting me know it was still a bit early for the date I wanted to move in but once time got closer I reached out and again he was extremely responsive and he made sure to ask me all the criteria I was looking for in a place and sent me some great options. He was super flexible when it came to showing the apartments and he really made the entire process extremely easy. Definitely recommend Cory and the apartment source!

Just got a new apartment in West Rogers Park and you know who helped us it was Hadi! The guy is off the charts gangsta. We didn't necessarily make it easy on him as we had numerous scheduling conflicts and other issues that delayed the approval process. However he had ice in his veins as he stuck with us and put in the extra work so we could get approved. In the end it worked out great for all of us. We got approved and Hadi became a superstar. If you need an apartment Holla at yo boy Hadi he will make it happen! Continue doing what your doing!

Where do I start? Lets just say, I was not an easy person to deal with. Not that I am hard to be around or make happy, I have just had a lot of bad luck in my life. Anyone who has tried to rent knows if you have a less than perfect situation, no one wants to work with you much less rent to you! Luckily, Genelle Banks was introduced into my life! I explained to here my back story and my existing personal situation. I then waited for the infamous, "Well let me get back to you and see what I can do." Not with Genelle, she looked at me and said, "Everyone deserves a fair shot at finding a place to live. You served our country in the military so now its my turn to help you!" Help me is exactly what she did! Prior to her I had been looking for an apartment for well over 3 weeks. Working with her, it took a little over a week to not only get a place, but sign lease papers and move in. I cant say enough good things about Genelle. She was always there to answer my calls or texts no matter the time of the night. I would, and for sure will, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a place to live. Whether or not I was the only one working with her or one of ten, she made me feel like I was the only one! Thank you Genelle! Now I can focus solely on getting my situation under control. I know you will appreciate that for when I go to look for another place down the road with you!

My roommate and I just moved in and we love the new place! great area and beautiful stainless steel appliances, updated cabinets and countertops, nest thermostat system and hardwood floors. It's exactly what we asked for when apartment searching. However when moving in from out of town, we relied on the communication of the building manager Rachel to assist us in the process as we could not be there in person. We had many questions and Rachel was very distant in the process of specifically telling us what we need to do, she gave us conflicting numbers on how much we owed, when we owed the money, and signing the lease. We would be going back and forth one day and she would be distant for 2 days at a time when we were a few days before move in. Long story short she lacked communication with us in the process and wouldn't answer our emails or phone calls in a timely manner before our move in. We were told she had a few buildings to manage so we didn't feel like we were a priority to her. We had to rely on Ziggy to answer our questions and help us with the move in process. Ziggy was great, very friendly, came to visit us when we moved in and asked us if we needed anything and how the move in was. Would definitely recommend Ziggy for anyone thats trying to move in.

Cory was amazing during my one week apartment hunt. I was relocating from Miami and never had the opportunity to go up and see the places. Cory went above and beyond--FaceTime, video, and photos made me feel like I was actually in Chicago. If you're looking for someone with great communication skills, amazing follow-up, and friendly Cory is your guy.

I called the phone number asking to speak to the property manager for an apartment I was interested in. The person on the phone asked me for my name and phone number. I said no because I didn't want to get spam texts/calls, and then she hung up on me! Rude!

I reached out to Hadi in regards to one property, and within a day he had set viewings for not only that property but multiple others. Within two days my roommate and I signed on a great unit, and could not be more happy with our experience.

Hadi is a great guy! He showed my buddies and I am awesome apartment with short notice. Every interaction with him thereafter has been pleasant and efficient in getting us moved into our new place. Top notch service!

Wednesday I called about an apartment I saw on an apartment rental search site and set up an appointment to see the apartment on Friday. The agent said he'd be giving me a call to confirm the day of and give me the exact address. Friday 5'o clock rolls around ( the showing was scheduled for 6). I hadn't received any call from the agent so I called. I was literally transferred 6 times to 6 different agents who didn't know what I was talking about and quickly said 'hold on' and transferred me AGAIN. I finally got someone who actually talked to me and he re-set me up to see the apartment-same time. He says you'll receive a call from the agent who will meet you at the apartment shortly. No one ever called.

This place made signing our lease go so smoothly! Tyson was awesome- he took care of everything for us and was very prompt at getting back with us about paperwork. They took care of everything so that all we had to do was sign the papers. Great communication and customer service! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for an apartment in the area.

we contacted these people from a Craigslist posting. no one was timely in communicating back to us. when I finally called the office and actually spoke to someone, the property had been rented 3 days prior, but one of the agents had re-listed it just that morning. these agents need to get their listings right and actually call potential clients back. terrible service.

Genelle went above and beyond every time I had an inquiry about potential rentals in a neighborhood, specifics about a particular unit, etc. She was also extremely accommodating with her schedule as mine was very sporadic. She make the search much more bearable!
