The Arbor Review - Mount Pleasant - Vancouver - The Infatuation

"The Arbor is a vegetarian restaurant on Main Street often overshadowed by its more popular sister restaurant, The Acorn, a few doors down. If they were actual sisters, The Arbor would be more laid-back and probably live in a country town, while The Acorn would be more serious and own a greyhound and a large wine glass collection. And while we are big fans of The Acorn for its unique, fancy vegan food, we keep coming back to The Arbor. You can get things like sandwiches, pizza, and salads there, and you can usually walk-in without a wait. Their artichoke sandwich is phenomenal, as is their broccoli popcorn, which you should eat on their patio out the back that’s open in the summer, surrounded by vines, and feels like a secret garden." - Shelley Mason

Moving my mom to The Arbor at Delray was the best decision I ever for her. This is definitely the primer senior living facility. I have seen and trust me this is the best. My first encounter was with Jennie who took me on a tour and addressed all of my concerns. No pushy sales which truly made my introduction to The Arbor a very relaxing experience. My next encounter was with Karen The resident Care Director. She explained everything about the services offered and did all the introductions for me with the various department heads. When it was time for the move in I was introduced to Zusely and she helped me with every detail for getting the apartment ready so when my mom moved she felt at home. Zusely was there for me for every step of the move in process. She arranged for the cable instillation as well as giving many valuable suggestions to maximize my mothers comfort in her apartment. She was always available to answer any questions and she returned every call and email in a very timely manor. I have found the best place for my mom and I highly recommend this place.

I found myself suddenly in the position of searching for Assisted Living for my mom this past summer--from 3,000 miles away. I am *incredibly* grateful to have found The Arbor at Delray via extensive searches of various search engine reviews (note: they thankfully have a lot more reviews, and quite positive ones, outside of this particular engine). It was very easy to connect with the leasing team. I worked predominantly with Jarrett from start to finish, and I cannot sing his praises loudly enough. I was able to get a complete video walkthrough tour in real-time with him on short notice, he helped us to navigate the challenging situation of a nebulous rehabilitation discharge date, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and was SO communicative and helpful throughout the process, well after his job was complete. He went so far above and beyond for my mom in getting her set up once she arrived. My mom has been at The Arbor at Delray for almost three months at this point, and she has adjusted really nicely, which is a HUGE testament, because like so many, she was quite resistant to the (very necessary) transition from independent to assisted living. She went from pleading to return home from rehab rather than enter any assisted living (not yet having seen The Arbor) to asking me to sell her independent living condominium after moving into The Arbor. During the time that outside home health services were visiting her, I repeatedly received the unsolicited feedback from them that this was among the nicest facilities they'd ever visited and that they would be thrilled to have the opportunity to reside their themselves. One of them joked that she was scheming how to break her own hip to qualify and referred to it as the "Taj Mahal of Assisted Livings." If you're looking at The Arbor, keep looking. I couldn't be more delighted and RELIEVED that our search led us here and that we were able to secure a spot for my mom where I can know that she is well-cared for in a clean, cheerful, respectful environment... with GOOD FOOD TO BOOT. My mom actually likes the food (did I mention the filet mignon that's on the "always available" menu)- which is quite high praise coming from her and not exactly typical of assisted living settings. She describes the nursing staff as universally polite and helpful, and I only wish she had the energy to attend the various lectures and singalongs and brain games and casino nights and ballet recitals and alllllll the things that this vibrant community offers. Seriously, I am grateful every day that The Arbor was an option at the time we were searching. Thank you again Jarrett for helping to make this happen, and thank you also to the rest of the team - Jennie, Zusy, Teresa, Karen, and anyone else I'm forgetting - for your care of my mom. I am eternally thankful.

My mother is a resident in the memory care unit. David, Mia and staff have been so warm and welcoming. Everyone works so hard to ensure my mother is safe, well taken care of and engaged throughout the day. The facilities are wonderful and meals inviting. I highly recommend The Arbor.

Simply speaking--- The Arbor at Delray is terrific and head and shoulders above the other assisted living facilities in Palm Beach County. This is most evident by the wonderful and engaging activities staff namely Dominique, Kat, Randee, and especially Gordon. Besides this, the food in the dining room is delicious and wonderful with an excellent menu always.

I toured The Arbor in Delray Beach with my mom and we were both so impressed. Eric, the Executive Director, and Jared from the sales team were welcoming, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions with care. The community is beautiful, especially the apartments, which are bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that left us very confident in The Arbor. We are planning for my mom to move in on October 1st , and we are both so excited for this new chapter in her life .

My mom has been living at The Arbor at Delray for almost a year.  Our family is so grateful for the nursing director, Karen D and the care team.  Karen consistently has proved to be compassionate and professional.  She is genuinely concerned for my mom’s well being.  She communicates clearly and keeps my family informed.   We truly appreciate her dedication to both the residents and families.  Thank you!!!

My experience with The Arbor has been nothing short of excellent. The staff is warm, professional, and genuinely cares about the well-being of every resident. There’s a real sense of community here. It gives me peace of mind knowing that residents are not only safe, but also supported and valued. If you're looking for a place where quality of life, care, and dignity are a priority, I highly recommend The Arbor, It truly feels like home!

Yelp
My daughter has faced several challenges with her employer and some coworkers since she started at The Arbor at Delray as a server. The management is unprofessional and lacks proper communication skills with the staff. There are significant operational flaws and numerous cover-ups that should have been reported to corporate. I'm very disappointed with how my daughter has been treated during her time with this company.

Yelp
My parents are in the assisted living area and are struggling with the length of time it takes to receive their meals in the dining room. They say that it takes an hour to get their food and there is a high rate of errors (forgotten items). This seems to be a major level of unhappiness for them and is a constant concern that appears to have no remedy.
