We loved it. It was our first time to visit despite living here all our lives. The art was beautiful and the atmosphere was calming. We will definitely go again. There were even a few pieces by Picasso.

While we were visiting Corpus Christi, we came across the art museum, it was a building showcasing some local talent, and art pieces from abroad. We had a great time learning about the history of the city. The art pieces were unique and did represent the south Texas and it culture. So if your looking for something to do then this is your place to sight see for easily over an hour.

Excellent art museum. The display of art is very well presented. It is a first class museum.

Visited with my ladies club recently and enjoyed the museum...the staff was very helpful. We also had lunch at the Elizabeth Cafe...highly recommend the jalapeño chicken salad sandwich!!

$3-$7 admission to see some absolutely wonderful and intriguing art. Walk around and enjoy the café, take pictures of art, and/or look at the beautiful splashes of the ocean.

Very nice varied selection of art and educational opportunities.A remembrance type (write your own notes) display located in the center of a large room was a VERY nice addition/ touch. Some of the art had a social-awareness and historical conscience aspect to it. This I liked a whole lot. I am very happy to have had the chance to go to this museum while on vacation to Corpus Christi, Texas.

Elizabeth's was great! Very relaxing watching the ships coming in. The museum was ok. Several sections were closed, and one elevator didn't work. They should have told us that before paying full price.

The museum has a beautiful location on the bay. It's a very nice building with kind workers. The museum was smaller than I thought it would be...you can make it through in an hour or so, and the "photography is art" exhibit was a little underwhelming, in my opinion. However, like most arts, it's subjective and you may love it. That said, the permanent exhibits were beautiful...I especially liked the Spanish/Texan/Mexican art area and the sculptures. Upstairs they had work from local school children and some are very talented. It was fun to see what the local kids can do too!

Yelp
Entrance fees were half-price since a few of the exhibits were closed for renovation. The museum was transitioning from one exhibit to another and needed time for the change. No big deal as there were plenty of other exhibits to check out. Mom and I enjoyed out time here and would gladly come back in the future. Could tell this was more of a modern art museum versus traditional art. We enjoyed it nonetheless.

Yelp
The architecture of the actual museum is very beautiful! I love the windows to view the water and how they accentuate the pieces on display. When you first walk in there is a cute gift shop, you check in here before entering. They have a fun museum bingo sheet to take with you and can bring back for free stickers. It made my experience more interactive! There are two seperate second floors so make sure you check out both! Also, they have a restaurant, Elizabeth's, which is Mediteranean inspired brunch food. It overlooks the water and I would love to come back and try them out. I went during December so they had their Christmas tree display which is a local school contest of handmade decorated trees. The museum also has a bunch of work done by local and college artists. Overall, a good experience and a nice way to spend a few hours in Corpus.

Yelp
Over the exhibit they had at the end of September. I have been coming here for years and love to see how it's changed over the years.

Yelp
the art was definitely beautiful but it was mostly empty and not a lot of art. it was somewhat small the art was just really spaced out from each other. the gift shop is also extremely tiny and they don't have any souvenirs. i definitely probably wouldn't be back but if you like art, want to be inside from the heat, and have a chill day this is the place for you.

Yelp
We got free admission thanks to the art mural festival and it was awesome! My first time in corpus and it was a great experience

Yelp
Total disappointment. In part because several of the galleries were closed. In part because it's not well kept or maintained. I'm not sure I'd recommend anyone investing the time to go there.

Yelp
Clean and super friendly staff! We loved the kids storybook upstairs collection and read books to the kids - it is kid friendly and easily doable in 2 hours. I love the diversity of the collections and I like the outside patio views and how open it is. I wish we could've had time to stop and eat at the cafe but we were on the way out. Great family spot to stop and appreciate diverse art in many mediums.

Yelp
black and white photographs took me back to a time before I existed. I was expecting MUCH more art in a gallery space this large. besides that, the main entrance doors were locked and had no signage as to the temporary entrance; the elevators were "out", making it difficult for an older person to get to the 2nd floor exhibits; AND the air conditioning wasn't workin! come on, city of Corpus Christi, I KNOW you have more pride than this! (P.S. the gal at the front desk/gift shop was very friendly and wanted to help me enjoy the museum despite the issues mentioned above-give her a raise)!

Yelp
Lots of amazing works of art, all of which can be photographed without a flash...except for the animation section. Pretty amazing to view art with the battleship Lexington as the background. Try Hester's café inside the museum for coffee , meals and snacks.

Yelp
Not a ton of artwork but it was well worth the visit. In comparison to other museums they are priced significantly lower. There is a restaurant inside of the museum that I did not eat at but smelled great! There's also a children's room filled with toys, books, and computers which my three year old adored.

Yelp
Very good museum. Great place for the silent disco for the Fiesta de la Flor event honoring Selena Quintinilla Perez. Glad these guys are on board with the festival this year. Along with the Mercado sponsored by Herrman & Herrman attorneys inside the American Bank Center it makes the whole thing much much better.

Yelp
Definitely worth a visit. Not huge, but still well worth a few hours of time. The vast majority of the art is modern - Location is lovely - right on the waterfront and the grounds are gorgeous. The display of glass art with the huge plate glass window facing the bay behind alone with worth the trip. One thing I want to note in particular - if you are a fan of the giant Texas landscape paintings of Dennis Blagg, you must visit. Looking at Blagg's work in a book or on a computer screen does not have anywhere the same impact as it does when you see it in person, in real life, at full size. The way he portrays the blinding Texas sun is amazing and unique. You can almost feel the heat coming off the rocks.

Yelp
The Art Museum makes a great stop for First Friday Art Walk. They offer free admission the first Friday of every month and they stay open until 9pm. The cafe inside (Hester's) has a beautiful view of the water and usually closes early but stays open until 9pm on First Friday Art Walk nights and is pretty packed with people. The water garden area outside is a must see as well. The Art Museum, cafe, and Water Garden area would make a great date night.

Yelp
There is some really cool artwork here. I loved the bright colors and original ideas. I recommend stopping by if you're in Corpus Christy. I was actually really surprised to find such a good art museum in such a small town. It's even within walking distance from a lot of the hotels and is right by the water. There is a very nice patio outside behind the museum so you can sit by the water. Also, the green area out front is very nice. Plus there are a ton of Pokestops outside.

Yelp
While this museum is on the smaller side, it was very nice on the inside and managed to draw me all the way from Austin for a very enticing Ansel Adams exhibit. I was not disappointed. The service was great and for the first time in my museum experience, the gift shop was affordable. There is even free parking on the dock on the south side of the museum. Another added value is the park outside which has an amazing water fountain and great view of the bridge. We came back after dark just to spend time in the park and it was spectacular.

Yelp
This is a nice little museum, though outside the "special exhibits" the holdings are nothing exciting. The museum makes excellent use of every space, from rooms that clearly serve as meeting areas through to the ante room to the restrooms -- all are filled with well-displayed paintings, sculptures etc. Don't miss going up to the 3rd floor so you can get up close and personal with a large Chihuly glass hanging. We had to good fortune to visit during an exhibit of Christmas trees -- keep reading, I can hear you thinking "ukk, Christmas trees?? -- stay with me. This is a tree exhibit sponsored every year, whereby local elementary and middle school classes are given a concept, and then judged on how well they research and, using hand-made items, execute the concept. Museum visitors get to vote on which tree they think did the best at this task. This year's concept was countries -- the kids were to research the country, its history and sociology, as well as its Christmas traditions, and decorate the tree accordingly. With 30 trees arranged around the large exhibit space, making our selection took a while. We finally settled on Haiti, as the tree that combined a pleasing aesthetic and the high % of decorations hand made by the children. But others came close - Mexico and Russia were particular stunning but fell back because of the lower % of hand-made decor. One bravo and two complaints about the rest of the museum: Thank you for providing a wheelchair; it made a great difference in my ability to enjoy the day. But -- the staff in the admissions/gift shop were less than friendly, obviously had more important things to talk about than to give assistance to one tourist who wanted to drop a bit of money. And a second complaint -- the temperature, which hovered somewhere north of freezing. We had to give up completely on the History of Rock and Roll exhibit on the top floor, because by that point I was shivering too hard to read the informational cards. C'mon folks, there's got to be a balance between keeping the art safe and keeping your patrons from freezing.

Yelp
We have always wanted to go here. However we will never go back. Luckily it was free but needless to say they should have paid us to go through this museum. To start with the staff at the counter is not very friendly and there is a young security guard that appears to have it out for families with kids. He stocked us and another family while we were there. We were no where near any of the items that were randomly on the ground and in the middle of the room in one exhibit and the guard told all us " stand back your too close " we thought he was joking but nope he wasn't. To start with, to read any of the description cards you have to be about half an arms length away and secondly barricade anything you don't want people to close to. Also it does not have much to look at and is definitely not kid friendly. We have a 16, 12 and 4 year old and they were more bored than my wife and I was.

Yelp
Most of the stuff was closed off which was disappointing, it was a fun thing to do with the boyfriend though , I would go again but not anytime soon. The heasters in the museum is average , great view though , gift shop is like any, overpriced but some snazzy local jewelry is in there . Pictures are from part of the exhibit , it was pretty neat that we could interact with it .

Yelp
Smaller art museum. But had some nice paintings and exhibits inside, mostly 20th century Texas artists. Only took about 90 minutes to get through everything, but we enjoyed ourselves today. Has a nice view of the USS Lexington and a Chihuly glass installation too. The two ladies working in the gift shop are super nice.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to check out the museum today while enjoying our last day in Corpus Christi. The exhibits themselves were quite nice, the work is beautiful and the descriptions are educational. I enjoyed the fact that several different facets of art and time periods were represented. What I did not enjoy too much with the layout. When we traveled upstairs to check out a few of the exhibits there, it was very unclear direction we were allowed to go in. At one point we ended up back in what I believe was a clerical section because it didn't have artwork on the walls but it didn't look as though we were actually allowed to be back there. There were several sections that were not clearly marked in the direction we were supposed to be headed. E-zines in our area are free of charge for the permanent exhibits, so I was surprised to be charged a fee for the main floors. Also, the parking was difficult to navigate as well since many beachgoers I believe were using the same space. It also would've been nice to have better service. The young woman who took care of us at the front acted sort of bored to be there having to help us. Certainly not a bad little museum, many interesting pieces I enjoyed analyzing. Certainly a beautiful view from the balcony!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and amazing restaurants around it represents Corpus Christi in a good way

Yelp
I love bringing my out of town friends and family here! They always have great exhibits and this has to be one the most beautiful places in CC. I like to come especially for the temporary shows and even the ocean views are spectacular! The gift shop has lots of funky and eclectic things for sale plus the ladies are always nice and very helpful too. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot to see this past weekend since they're putting up the new show:( but I'll still give 5 stars based on the previous visits.
