San Francisco Chef Melissa Perello Says Parklet Issues Could Delay Reopening of Frances Restaurant | Eater SF

"Seeing an uptick in business as Silicon Valley companies begin returning to campus, Art of the BBQ has started booking events farther out — reportedly through October — as companies arrange lunches and events for employees." - Dianne de Guzman

This place is awesome! Best BBQ in the area. A little hard to find, but keep looking because it delicious! Their Mac & Cheese is also the best around (I'm picky about that). You'll want to save room for the Banana Pudding. Not only is the food wonderful, but so are Art & his staff.

Place is a hidden gem in a corner. Staff was very patient with recommendations since it was our first time there. For non meat eater, the Portobello sandwich is good! Ask for the spicy version of the sauce, has a good kick. Mac & cheese was fantastic too. Will definitely come here again.

Hard to find from the car, tucked back into the corner of the strip mall. Service good, staff friendly. BBQ good, though not as smokey as I'd like. Sides are hit and miss, potatoe salad (miss), slaw (miss), corn bread (hit), Mac and Cheese (semi-hit bit too oily). Tri-tip we felt was a bit tough and cut too thick. Jalapeno poppers very good, though it's the kind of thing you will tasting hours later. Only one BBQ sauce, sweet.

Google
The BBQ is GREAT! I usually dont get chicken when they have tri tip and ribs but even the chicken is amazing. We used them twice for our construction BBQ and both times they killed it. Highly Recommended.

Google
We had The ART of BBQ cater a birthday party for 40 guest. We went with ribs, pulled pork, grilled chicken, potato salad, mac & cheese, plus green salad. Art and his son arrived on time and set everything up for us. Very professional. The food was so good! Everything was perfectly cooked. The guest went back for seconds and wanted Art’s contact info. I would absolutely use The Art of BBQ again for a future event.

Google
One of the few places that does bbq right. Had the chicken, Mac and cheese and baked beans. The accompanying cornbread was just what I needed. So good. The meat was actually cooked on a grill and smoked. It was juicy and tender. The baked beans were good even though they were missing green peppers and onions in them. The mac and cheese was baked which is a VERY important step in prepping Mac and cheese. Overall this southern girl was impressed.

Google
It's our first time ordering here and it'll be our last. I ordered the " tasty combo" which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I chose the pork ribs and the tri tip. The ribs were dry but it did have some flavor without the sauce. The trip tip was much better. It was medium rare with lots of flavor. My kid ordered the boneless chicken from the A la carte section. He said he had better, it was on the dry side too. The 2 sides was the island mac and potato salad. Both lacked flavor, I had to add a few pinches of S&P. Our total was $25 and change. The boneless thigh was $5 and the balance was for the 3 ribs, 3 small slices of the tri tip and the 2 sides. Lastly, when we left with our order the teenager who took our order. Didn't say a word. No thank you or acknowledgement. She just handed us our order and just continued talking with her co-worker.

Google
The BBQ meat was okay - the meats were tender but it lacked any deep flavor. Ribs were tough and fatty, chicken was bland, tried tip was a bit dry but the pulled pork was really good. They had BBQ sauce on the table but it was soo sweet, and good BBQ meat shouldn't be slathered in sauce anyways. The sides we're pretty standard but also forgettable. Liked the cornbread with whipped honey butter and pulled pork the best.

Yelp
We had The Art of the BBQ cater lunch for our entire company today, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've ever had--period. Every item they served was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and clearly made with a lot of care and expertise. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a rich, smoky flavor that instantly stood out. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the hot links had just the right amount of heat and spice to make them unforgettable. Their sides were equally impressive--mac n' cheese, potato salad, cornbread, and a variety of other dishes that rounded out the meal beautifully. There wasn't a single item that felt like a filler; everything had purpose and flavor. The team behind the food was professional, friendly, and well-organized. They handled a large group with ease, and every one of our employees left full, happy, and talking about how good everything was. If you're looking for top-tier BBQ catering that delivers not only incredible food but also exceptional service, The Art of the BBQ should be your first call. They've set a new standard for what we expect from catered events--and we'll absolutely be bringing them back.

Yelp
BBQ perfection! We had our Cisco Team Picnic catered by the Art of BBQ everything was delicious!!!! We had Tri Tip, Chicken, Hot dogs, Portobello mushrooms, Potato Salad, Corn on the cob and Peach Cobbler. My team is still talking about how good it was!

Yelp
The BBQ and custom service is top notch! I had my 60th birthday catered and all the guests raved about how delicious everything was! Thank you Art & Team for making my celebration even more memorable. The meat was tender juicy and cooked to perfection! Absolutely Do Not Sleep on the Mac & Cheese. Honestly, I've never tasted anything like it, it was so delicious! Art was easy to work with and on schedule. If I could give you more than 5 stars I would! OUTSTANDING!

Yelp
Art and Anthony delivered on their 5 star reputation. From the original request for a quote to on-time delivery of delicious ribs, tri-tip and chicken and sides (Mac 'n cheese and loaded beans were standouts), TAOB made our party a huge success! We had food delivered and it came hot, just out of the smoker, ready to serve and sliced in front of us. Peach cobbler was fantastic! A friend had recommended Art and what a great tip that was. They do just what they say they will - make great bbq and over-deliver on taste, service, and portions.

Yelp
I just wanted to take a moment to thank The Art of BBQ for catering our recent company lunch appreciation for our employees. Working with Art was a fantastic experience--he arrived right on time and brought an incredible spread of smoked food. Though I couldn't attend, my boss raved about the BBQ, saying it was out of this world good! Everyone else echoed that sentiment, sharing how much they loved it. I can't wait to try it myself one day. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their catering game! Thank you, Art!

Yelp
Hired Art of BBQ for our big birthday event of 50+ adults, and was truly the best catered party we have ever had. Bbq Chicken, ribs, brisket by request (Perfect as promised!), sausages, salad, grilled vegs, truly amazing Mac/Cheese, corn, spectacular potato salad, corn bread - the food was endless! When Anthony and Art were unpacking everything, we wondered if we needed to invite another 50 more people! Unanimously everyone at the party agreed the bbq was above excellent - everything was smoked/grilled to perfection. Art and team make the entire process easy from booking/ordering/delivery. Art and Anthony arrived well early of the party for setup with everything in large sealed aluminum professional grade food trays, which easily transferred to the chafing servers we rented separately. Art provides plenty of bbq sauce, salad dressings, even large serving utensils which was hugely appreciated. They are a full team of super professional and honest people which made it a complete joy to to work with them. We are definitely going to have Art back out for our next big party!!! Thanks!!!

Yelp
Comments from our guests: "If I could eat this forever, that would be okay with me." "OMG this is so good, who made this?" "Where'd you get this, it's "oh my gawd, it's so good."" "The Mac and cheese, the corn, the brisket, even the chicken, omg everything..EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! Where'd you get this?" ALL of our guests marveled at the food we ordered for a birthday party we held and had to fight over taking leftovers because everything was just damn delicious! The usual things you might think would be dry such as the chicken and the cornbread were moist, flavorful, and so many guests were surprised that those items weren't dry. Art and his team arrived early, helped set everything up, and were a breeze to communicate with (super responsive and very detail oriented). All of our friends asked nonstop who made the food, where we got it from, and kept commenting how EVERYTHING was so delicious and so flavorful and so well prepared. The leftovers the next day were EVEN better! Our kids took the food for their lunches and their friends at school envied the ribs and potato salad they brought, lol! We can't wait to host another party and work with TAOB again!! Bottom line, if you want the best food at your party, you MUST work with TAOB!! Seriously, you won't be disappointed! @Art thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being the highlight of our party! Our friends know we're serious foodies, and your food didn't disappoint!! Our menu: Brisket Bratwurst Chicken Ribs Cornbread with honey butter Tossed Greens Salad Potato Salad Mexican Street Corn Macaroni and Cheese

Omg hired the art of bbq to cater my wedding and omg. They were beyond amazing. We got tri tip. Which was sooo goood. So many compliments from guests !! The chicken was okay, Mac and cheese was amazing. Jalapeño poppers were a big hit and on the spicy side ! So good!!! And there cornbread and honey butter was to die for. I would get married again just to have this food again 1000000/10

Yelp
We used The Art of BBQ Catering for our daughters 21st bday party. I can't say enough good things about this company, Art and his son were on time, which is the first biggest plus. They were prepared, had everything ready to go. We had ribs, chicken, tri tip, vegetables, potato salad, corn bread and baked beans and everything was AMAZING!! Our party was for 60 and there was more than enough food. Everyone at the party raved about how good the food was. We will definitely be using Art again. Hands down some of the best BBQ ever. Thank you!!

Yelp
I just want to Thank you Michael for catering my Son's Birthday party this past weekend. The Brisket was hit of the party. The Ribs, mac & cheese and beans were good too. Like you stated the BRISKET is best when it is HOT. If you are looking for BBQ in San Jose reach out The Art of BBQ. THANK YOU AGAIN Michael

Yelp
A fun update to this story: three years later, we got in touch with Art to see if he would be willing to use the remainder of our wedding catering deposit to cater BBQ for our baby shower. Not only did he honor the tab (after three years!) but he didn't charge us for the amount beyond that. And the pulled pork and grilled mushrooms were exactly as good as we remembered them! The guests who attended both the wedding and the shower agreed! Thank you, TAOB!!!

Matt B.

Yelp
TAOB stopped by for our annual company picnic on Friday. They came in, set everything up and it was awesome. We had brisket, chicken, sausages, ribs, potato salad, Mac n cheese, and probably a few other things I forgot to mention. We used these guys for our event because our normal guy was out of town. I'm glad we did. We'll be using them definitely again. Great Job!!!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!! Everything is delicious. They state, "We're the West Coast American BBQ with Latin-island flare. No brisket or burnt ends served here and we don't believe in smothering our food in our BBQ sauce. We leave that up to you." Their Mac and cheese is creamy and melts in your mouth; the potato salad is light (I think sour cream based) and its unexpectedly delicious--not your every day potato salad. The tri tip and pulled pork is out of this world, and the ribs had a bark on it that was like Smokey meat candy. The jalapeño bacon wrapped poppers has a nice bite to it. There was only one cashier who acted as expo as well. She was attentive and brought us to go boxes without us asking despite the whole restaurant being packed. I love this place.

Yelp
Chief Pit Master himself, Art at The Art of BBQ catered my company's Topping Off event for approx. 400-person construction workers on 6.22.23. On the menu was tri-tip chicken, mac n cheese, potato salad and the cheesy-bacon garlic bread was to die for everything was cooked to perfection and hit every tastebud! The flavor of everything was amazing and delish. Not only was the food 5-stars but Art and his team were on top of it! The set up was so efficient that there was no long wait time as the line was moving at all times. Lots of happy workers with full bellies. We will be using them again for future company events and hope to book The Art of BBQ for personal events as well. I highly recommend his BBQ!

Yelp
Had the privilege of attending a pool party of a wonderful client whom I represented in the purchase of his new home. He and his significant other threw an outstanding outdoor party for close friends and family. Their caterer was the Art of bbq!! Art & his son Alex were punctual (actually even a few minutes early), so efficient in setting up, and then their serving and presentation was bar none. Not to mention both Art & Alex were extremely professional as well as very personable. Okay, now for the food! The potato salad was the best I've ever had. All homemade with large whole black olives and chunks of celery. It was creamy & had a lightness yet tremendously flavorful taste. The Mac & Cheese was wonderful (Art's wife's recipe). The baked beans were excellent. The ribs were outstanding as was the tri-tip . The chicken gets it's own paragraph for a reason. For 50 years chicken has bored me - no matter how it is cooked/baked/barbecued. TODAY, I can confidently say that I have eaten the best chicken of my entire life! The ART of bbq chicken!! Art says it's his rub which makes the chicken flavor unique. He won't divulge the secret ingredients but he does sell his rub. Art & his family now not only have at least one new catering customer (I am a full time Realtor therefore representing many buyers sellers and fellow Real Estate agents), but he has also gained a new rub purchasing customer!!! Thank you Art & Alex - You are the best. Would absolutely return and undoubtedly recommend. See my photos.

Yelp
One of the best ribs (melts off the bone) and chicken in all of the Bay Area. The mac and cheese! You will not be disappointed! A must try in your life time!

Yelp
Heard about this spot from a friend and gave it a try today. I loved the "hole in the wall" atmosphere. I didn't get her name but the cashier with the blue hair helped us out. She was eager to tell us about their menu/specials when we told her it was our first time. I ordered the tidbit combo (1 meat + 2 sides + cornbread) with tri-tip, mac & spicy chili beans. Our order came out fast and she came over to check on us & see how we liked our food. Great service!! The tri-tip was delicious. I added some bbq sauce from the table. The chili beans and corn bread were killer but the highlight for me was that mac & cheese. It's definitely a must when picking your sides. All that food was worth the price. We'll definitely return- worth the drive from the other side of town.

Yelp
UGH this place was good once upon a time. I came for pick up during COVID and was sooo disappointed. I ordered the tritip with mac & cheese and corn. My boyfriend got the tritip sandwich. While waiting for our food, we could see that the kitchen staff weren't wearing masks or not wearing it properly. -1 star there. When we got home, I opened my tritip and it was 5 of the tiniest pieces ever. They were about an inch each strip...the mac & cheese was not as good as I remembered it used to be and the corn was just corn. It also came with cornbread that was dry and crumbly but I'm not usually a fan of corn bread anyway. My boyfriend got the tritip sandwich and it was literally a couple pieces of tritip and bread... pretty sure it was supposed to also have coleslaw? Anyway this placr has definitely gone down over the years and I'll be taking my bbq cravings to South Winchester BBQ from now on.

Yelp
I am an Event Planner I'm Dina's Deluxe Events. I booked the Art of Catering Company twice for my clients' events. Both times the food was delicious, flavorful and fresh. My favorite BBQ is the ribs and I always try them at the events together with other BBQ and delicious sides. I met the owner Art and his team they were always on time, organized and prepared. 5 stars, excellent service and food!

Yelp
Truly miss the store front Art had, hands down can't get any beef ribs and brisket as flavorful and delicious as they served here. The garlic cheese bread was phenomenal and we can't leave out the house mac n cheese. Portions were so great too! Can't wait to service Art and his crew for catering in the future.

Yelp
Just wanted to give a warm shout out to Art Campos from The Art of BBQ for grilling on site for my hubby, Steve's 60th birthday. Yesterday, we were blessed with a gorgeous, clear sunny day. It's the middle of February and the weather was perfect. Our family and friends enjoyed watching Art work his barbecue magic. Steve was thrilled that he got his birthday wish to eat fresh grilled cheesy garlic bread. We ordered tri-tip, pork ribs and chicken, Mac-n-Cheese, grilled veggies and Art's special request only cheesy garlic bread. Art and his crew did a fabulous job. They were super attentive and were so awesome about unobtrusively replenishing food trays so that it always looked plentiful. Art perfectly grilled the tri-tip, our pork ribs had a nice smoky flavor and the chicken thighs were moist and juicy. All of our family and friends kept coming up to compliment Art on the yummy food. We told our friends that Art won the 2019 Bay Area's Best Barbecue award and we think it was well-deserved. This was the first time that we hired The Art of BBQ and it won't be the last time. When I was looking for caterers for my hubby's 60th birthday party, I wanted to vote with my dollars to support local Bay Area businesses such as The Art of BBQ. When you support a small business owner, this builds up our community. Last, I hired Art because I know that he gives back to his local community, too. Art Campos, the owner of The Art of BBQ, is a complete joy to work with. Not only is Art warm and funny, but I could tell that he is genuinely concerned about making his customers happy. When I asked Art to switch the cornbread to grilled cheesy garlic bread, Art said, "We do barbecue your way." I appreciate the fact that Art is willing to customize his menu for parties with 100 plus guests. Another reason why I like to support local business owners is the personalized attention. We felt so lucky that Art, the owner, personally set up and grilled on site for my hubby's birthday. I am more than thrilled to recommend The Art of BBQ. The next time I host a waterfront event overlooking the Foster City lagoon, The Art of BBQ will be the first one that I call. THANKS ART!

Yelp
This place has really delicious BBQ. The tri-tip was amazing. I was less impressed with the pulled pork, it was fine but not amazing. I really loved the beans and the mac and cheese was off the hook. I loved their sauces too. The place has a very friendly festive vibe. It does kind of seem a little like a hole in the wall tucked into a big complex, definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Phenomenal! Everything homemade! Smoked meats are awesome! Mac and cheese to die for!

Yelp
Highly recommend using them. They showed up on time super helpful, friendly and had everything ready to serve. All our guests were raving about how delicious everything was and we have left overs for days. Thanks for helping make our 20th anniversary so special.

Yelp
*NOTE* I just noticed that this place has 2 listings here on Yelp. Same address but one under this name and another under the acronym "TAOB" Pitstop. Both hundreds into their reviews, but you only get half the stories from each listing. Just sayin** I like their stance here. In a world where everybody seems or "tries" to be a bbq expert/connoisseur, TAOB is well defined and stays focus. Right on their menu they claim "we're West Coast American BBQ with a Latin-Island flare" They even go on about specifying that they DO NOT do brisket. And that they also do not sauce anything. In my book this is quite respectable. It put things in perspective right from the get go. The Meats tried on 1 visit: Ribs (4*) First things first, this isn't baby backs as some reviews have indicated. They are well trimmed spare ribs. They are fat and meaty. The texture is cooked on the firm side so it has definite chew. It isn't the "fall off the bone" type, which way too many people prefer. I personally knock a rib that is the super soft type, which IMO is over done. I like the texture here, but it should be warmer when served. It was lukewarm when it arrived, so within a minute, it was basically room temp. The flavor was alright. Not really a "bark" like other reviews have noted again, but definite spice rub. Tasty spice rub, but would prefer to see some texture on the exterior derived from heat. Also the smoke flavors here are mild, much milder than Southern styles, which is the bbq most people can associate with. Tri Tip (3*) They actually serve this very pink/medium rarish which is money. 90% of places that try and do tri tip don't. So props to that! It is kind of Santa Maria-ish as it is quite simple. Spice rub and grilled to pink doneness. And because the rub is all on the outside, the interior to totally plain. I sparingly used their "hot" bbq sauce (4*) here, which is pretty good. It is thinnish with a slight fruity sweetness and decent pepper kick. Pork Belly (4*) I think this is the only bbq place where I've seen belly as a meat option. So I had to get it. Perfectly cooked and rendered as it was pretty tender without it completely shredding or falling apart. Actually I'm a fan on their stance on texture here. Firm to a soft bite and never falling apart. Again the smoke was on the light side, but it did work for the belly, as it is a milder meat. But also again, way too cool arriving at the table, so it wasn't meltingly tender like a hot piece of bbq should be. Fat in general is always more impressive when it is hot. Cool fat just ain't as appetizing. That is a foodie fact. The Sides: Grilled Mushrooms (5*) Again what bbq place offers this?! Whole buttons are completely cooked and saturated in butter and bbq spices, super juicy and flavorful. But very oily though. Corn Nibs (3*) Very garlic-y which I don't really dig/understand. I like corn more natural like, maybe just a touch of butter. Green chiles go better with corn more so than garlic...hint, hint. Baked Beans (2*) Just seemed like straight out of a can to me. Sweet super soft beans. Mac n Cheese (4*) Really good cheese flavor. But really thick and not "creamy". It was so thick that you could probably slice it with a knife. But loved the flavor. I hate mac n cheese where I'm looking for a cheese flavor. So pretty decent bbq out here in South SJ. I liked their flavors, loved the textures but felt the smoke was a bit too mild. I prefer a smoke just a tad more bold, but that's me. Also heat up the meats a bit more upon each order, it'll make the already decent product so much more impressive. If I lived closer, I'd support this a whole lot more. Be proud SJ, be proud.

Yelp
Beef rib was the special of the day! It feeds 2-3 ppl and is ~$23 a rib. It's worth it. Somkey, tender and meaty. Had to get the potato salad which is creamy (yeah mayo!) with nice slices of celery for crunch and black and green olives for tang. The potatoes are perfect ... firm but can still cut with a fork tender.

Dan S.

Yelp
Hands down the best bbq in the Bay Area!!!! We just had a catering event and Art did a phenomenal job. We ordered the bbq chicken, tri tip, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. Everyone in our party raved about how good the food was. The portions were also extremely generous and we were supplied with forks, plates, napkins, serving tongs, and a large bottle of bbq sauce. 1st class service all the way around!!!!!

Yelp
The Art of BBQ catered one of our corporate events and I was amazed at how fresh and good the flavor was. Everything was spot on from the meat, potato salad, beans, and sausages. I can't recommend them enough!

Yelp
I found this place thru word of mouth, after doing some research; Art from art of BBQ knows what he's doing. He's fair with pricing and does an excellent job on the food. Try the Mac and cheese, it's phenomenal. I got to try the jalapeño bacon version and I hope that version stays! The multiple times I've gone, the workers are attentive and helpful, great staff! Thanks again Art! Recommend: Ribs Tri tip - and I have Santa Maria blood Mac and cheese Chili beans One of, if not, the best BBQ in the Bay Area

Yelp
This is a review of only their customer service.. I am having a party for less than 30 people (who isn't nowadays with Covid right?) and was willing to pay more money per person to meet the equivalent of their minimum. But they literally wouldn't give me a price of what the minimum is. They state that they have a minimum # 30 people but can't/won't translate that to a minimum dollar amount? He wouldn't take the time to even give a rough estimate of how much money I'd have to spend to work with them for my small party. That made me feel pretty sad. As a high risk family, I expected to have to spend more money in order to meet the minimum but they wouldn't even consider it. I didn't expect to be turned away with no path forward, no compromise.

Yelp
Not sure how this place won awards. Friend it twice and couldn't do it. Everything was too sweet, skimpy, cold and chewy.

Yelp
So trying to write my review again....see note at bottom. Lets start with the Hype is not real. I found this place because I love BBQ and it had amazing reviews. Despite it being 45 mins away from my home, I am willing to make the drive out there. I go on a Friday night 2 hours or more before closing. I was excited to try this place and been watching it for weeks. I ordered the Trifecta Combo and 1 A-La-cart item. This meant that I got the Tri-tip, pulled pork, SJ Ribs and pork belly as my A-La-Cart. My sides were corn bread, mac and cheese and beans. The Tri-tip looked great with juices on it, but was only decent and seemed to lack flavor. Pulled pork was good and flavorful, but not the best pork I have had; a little on the well done side. The SJ Ribs had barley any taste and were bland. They didn't fall off the bone, but that's ok, that doesn't make or break a rib. Pork belly literally felt like all I had was gel in my mouth. By this I mean all fat, no flavor what so ever. My sides were decent. Hard to mess up beans, corn bread was decent, and mac and cheese had a good flavor. At least that part was good. They have a very good BBQ sauce at each table, use it...use it all. I had to drown my meat in this side sauce to get any flavor. I feel like if you have to use a bunch of condiments on the side, then its really not BBQ. To top everything off, the service was bad. You could feel the loathing of being there. No smiles, slow and just overall unmotivated to be there. With a wealth off BBQ competition in San Jose, and the amazing stars this place had, one would think this place would have been awesome. Sad to say the hype is not real, and was let down by a place I wanted to be amazing. Note- I orininally posted a review similar to this one that had other people agreeing with my post, but was taken down since I reviewed on this page and the duplicate page (TAOB Pit Stop). No bother, I re-wrote it so its a new post and will only post here. Hopefully the business can live up to its stars in the future.

Yelp
I've use the air to barbecue multiple times for catering for my business. Always a great experience. Love working with Art.

Yelp
This place is small, but the BBQ is mighty. Plenty of meat and sides that were all expertly prepared. I enjoyed the ribs and tri-tip. The mac and cheese was great, not that runny, and also available fried! Seriously good and a worthwhile BBQ trip, and I would consider myself ab it of a snob in regards to BBQ.

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars I would! We have hired them for several functions. They never disappoint!! Amazing food, amazing staff!

Yelp
Honestly the 1 star is only because I can't give zero. We've heard good things about this place however this is my second time ordering from here and both times I was highly disappointed. Over priced for literally regular plain bbq. My first time here they forgot to put our sides in our bag, when arriving home we realized and went back, had to wait in a long line just to get the cold mushrooms and corn nibs. My second time, I was charged 85 but my card was charged 102, then I'm like whatever, I get home to my hungry kids to find literally a tiny piece of chicken for each meal (8.95 per kids meal) both my kids were still hungry afterwards. My husbands meal was missing his pulled pork. The food was all dry and thrown in their to go plates. It's sad because my husband really likes this place but every time I go, I'm extremely let down. Oh yea and the jalapeño poppers are 7.50 for only 3 little dried up pieces lol I can't believe it! Money I don't care about but damn at least the quality of food could be better. I'm not sure how my card was overcharged but it did reverse later on by itself, just the inconvenience, especially because our food wasn't even that good and poorly situated in the containers. Also your staff is rude!!

Yelp
Very delicious BBQ pork ribs and pulled pork. I hail from the land of BBQs-Texas- and these ribs are comparable! Super juicy and meaty with a nice peppery BBQ sauce. Their corn bread is life like crack cake or something of that addicting nature. And that honey butter confection they have you slathering on them corn bread just as heavenly! Holy smokes!! Then I moved on to the pulled pork sandwich dipped in a bit of BBQ sauce and it was so tender and flavorful. The cole slaw could use a little less mayo. And I will skip the tri-tip next time as I think once my mouth got happy with the ribs there was no going back! It was all ribs in my head at that point and the tri-tip didn't wow like the ribs did. Although, I do wonder if it's because it got cold by the time it made it to our house. Thinking maybe if it was hot and served on the spot, it would have been good as well. Still the pork ribs probably would still outshine the tri-tip but I will have to go to the restaurant in person in the future to prove my point right or wrong. Either way I feel like I'd still be winning! Lol~ anyhow, hit up this place if you're in the mood for ribs. They are in deed delicious, guaranteed on my Yelper's honor! Eat well and be well friends.

Yelp
Food is great!! Probably best in town. Customer service ok. I been here waiting for 35 minutes now. They seem to help the people they know first no matter if you came before them. 3 people must of came after me with bigger orders but they were helped before I was since they knew the workers. That's cool and all but after you been waiting about 35 minutes, it bothers you a lil but. I just had to keep it real with my review. **UPDATE** I ordered from TAOB on DoorDash and man. I just keep smacking my lips. I got the 2 meat combo and man I'm full. The picture below shows what I got left. Pork belly and tri tip man it's soo good. Mac n Cheese was good too but for some reason I like it better on the weekdays. Baked beans are alright. During this these hard times I just been trying to support local and it's well worth it. I've had TAOB about 6 time just in quarantine and many before. It just gets tastier and tastier every time. Gotta give it up to you guys. Stay strong and healthy.

Yelp
Fantastic BBQ. One of my favorite joints in the SJ area! The ribs, pulled pork, beans, and cornbread are all some of the best I've ever had. They're on par with some of the famous places in Texas and the Midwest, and that really is saying something! The only thing I'd skip is the Beef Brisket. We've gotten it twice, and it was on the drier side both times. If you want something better, go with the Tri-Tip. Don't miss out on their homemade BBQ sauce! It's got amazing tangy, sweet, and spicy flavor. Overall, TAOB is an excellent choice for the next time you crave some 'qué!

Yelp
It's very good and very convenient location for those of us in the south area of San Jose. Had the tri-tip, pork belly, and St Louis style ribs. Didn't have any sides because I love meat!! Ribs: Very good. Not the most tender, but pretty good. Not dry. But it was also not as hot (temperature) as I expected. Ribs are good when they're steamy hot. And no baby back ribs here. Tri-tip and Pork belly: Really good. Very tender. Very tasty! There was only one BBQ sauce though. Most places have at least a regular and a spicy. But overall, I will definitely come back here. Tip: If you want to order all meat by the slab or pound, then you're supposed to order 24hrs in advance. If you come in, they want you to order "plate style".

Yelp
Hey neighbors, hope you all are safe and healthy. Just wanted to throw out there a recommendation for eats since being home sucks and I can only cook and eat so much leftovers. Visit Art of BBQ http://taobbq.com , they are open for take out. I had the beef rib, almost as big as my grandsons head. Also had the three meat combo. They have a physical distancing setup to walk in and take orders safely. Broke the mouth bbq and fair prices. Thank you Art and your staff for staying open and serving the community!

Yelp
First time eating here and I ordered the Beef Rib, Pork Belly, Pork Ribs, Island Mac Salad, and Mac & Cheese. The staff were super friendly and food was ready pretty fast, roughly 5-10 mins. The Beef Rib and Mac & Cheese were probably my favorite!! I liked everything but thought it could all have been just a little bit more tender. They also gave us free cornbread that came with this honey butter that was delicious! I would definitely recommend getting the beef rib and Mac & Cheese!

Yelp
This restaurant is fantastic. Our organization had them cater for us today and everything was outstanding. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Amazing food! Wonderful service! Just had them for a work event for 85 and everything was perfect! Showed up at 10:15 for an 11:00 start time and very professional! Got so many comments from my guest about how good the food was. Will definitely be using them again!!

Yelp
I decided to give this place a shot. It's in a very sketchy location in the plaza that's in need of redevelopment. Put it this way, I wouldn't go here at night. Not the place that I would normally go to just based on the location. I was starving the day I went, and it was either this, or McDonald's across the way. Let's just say that I should've went to McDonald's and saved ~$15 on Sub-par BBQ. I'm a big fan off bbq and I've been to many in the area. I'm sorry but this isn't good bbq and the place across the street is just a tad better. But with this bbq, I've definitely had better. Most of the meats are dry and I tried them all just to see. The best thing here is the Mac and cheese and that's just ok too but better than the meats that's for sure The food is expensive for what you get in terms of portions. The staff here are in desperate need of a customer service refresher. The girl at the register was rude, and she she didn't even provide the service with a smile despite how nice I was with her. Anyway, point being. Don't waste your money here. Get your money's worth at McDonald's across the way; you can thank me later for the save!

Yelp
This is the real deal, right here. Some pretty good food is served here, food filled with LOVE! Tonight I was blessed with the opportunity to try the pork ribs. These babies are SO good, I didn't even dip it in any sauces. They were SO friggin' good on their very own!!! The meat practically falls of the bone and still remains it's juicy self. The seasonings of the dry rub is delicious; not salty nor bland. Also, the meat is not too fatty like a lot of other rib places I've tried. My family raves about this place, so I'm interested to try other meats next time!

Yelp
Hands down the best BBQ in San Jose and honestly it's not even close. You can tell they take proud in your product because everytime I have come in it has been better then the last visit. Is that possible? Recently tried out their breakfast and MY GOD!! All different flavors mixed together was amazing and don't even get me started on the portions cause they are HUGE. Lets just say it is beyond worth the price. If you are craving some real BBQ this is the place to go!!
