Great place! Sabrina our server was wonderful. I had the potato skins and lasagna. Both were seasoned well served hot and delicious. Salad was fresh. Drink menu was surprisingly diverse. Atmosphere was a country restaurant with a welcoming community vibe. Suitable for all ages. Let us not forget the views, even in the rain it was stunning on a country mile scale as the crow flys... 8/16/25 3pm Back again this time for a lunch date. The view was amazing from the outdoor deck. The staff was friendly and knew the menu backwards and forwards. The fish was to die for incredibly well cooked and battered to perfection. The burger yep I had a bite of my dates meal cause she said "try this it's so good" for me that says it all. When the experience of eating becomes a urge to share with the people you surround yourself with that's five star worthy. Ashfield Lake House Inc is a destination to behold and enjoy.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. There is plenty of places to park your car but the dedicated lot does fill up easily. The staff here were very friendly and professional. The food was very tasty and the drinks were delicious. I enjoyed the unique interior with all the different decorations. The seats here are big enough for me considering they had arms which usually limits how wide someone can be. I am looking forward to going back again soon!

Stopped in for a late lunch with a friend. Gorgeous views of the frozen lake! The sweet potato fries were FABULOUS! Nice crispy exterior & creamy inside. My turkey burger was also great but I should’ve gotten a beef burger; their patties are made from local beef produced right across the river. Laid back atmosphere in the middle of a cold day; friendly service. Thanks, Jodie!

This was our second time back! We were absolutely blown away with their service especially considering how busy of a night it was! Our waitress Amelia was very kind and checked in on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the seafood Alfredo which was perfectly seasoned and the sauce was not too rich! My wife had a cowboy burger which she also loved! We couldn’t help but to order dessert as well. We live right around the corner and will be back. What a great place to eat!!! Outstanding service, excellent food and a beautiful deck to enjoy your meal. We were warmly greeted upon entering and brought out to the deck outside. It was shady and not in the direct sun I ordered the turkey club sandwich and the wife ordered the cowboy burger. The turkey club was the biggest club sandwich I have ever had, it was stuffed with turkey. The wife's Cowboy burger was cooked to perfection, all meats were locally sourced. We will going back again, a must place to go!!

We had the BEST dinner at The Lake House! We were in town to elope and they couldn’t have made us feel any more special. They sat us at a table overlooking the lake at sunset. Dinner was incredible. I could have drank the marinade of the artichoke hearts it was so good! The glaze on the mustard glaze chicken thighs was to die for. I’m a huge mustard fan so it was a big hit. My husband got the shrimp salad which was incredible. Dessert was strawberry rhubarb pie which was the perfect end to the meal! Cocktail are not to be skipped, I am still dreaming of that tarragon gin lemonade. If you’re in town can’t suggest this spot enough! We’re already excited to come back and visit again.

The Ashfield Lake House is a trendy, dive bar which has recently upgraded its menu since I was growing up. This used to be the only restaurant in Ashfield, and still kind of is for dinner. I've come here many times over the past 25 years, and it overlooks the gorgeous Ashfield Lake. They have a deck area and indoor seating, as well as live music and events, and they're great for groups, or just an evening at the bar solo. All of the locals come here to have a drink, eat or play pool. (Yes there's a pool table!) The food is absolutely delicious, and the bar has a decent amount of beers on tap, if that's your thing. They're willing to go above and beyond with drink & food preferences. We've tried just about everything on the menu, and there's nothing I haven't enjoyed. Check the pictures. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Thus place is OPEN!! A fantastic gem...you need to GO!!! We paddled over, docked on the beach had lovely and lovingly prepared food and cocktails on the deck and watched the sunset as a family of geese paddled by and a bald eagle soared overhead. MAGIC!

The current ownership is awful. The menu is boring, the service sucks and they hate locals. This was the only bar in town, it was filthy but, fine. Now, it's been taken over by people who want a more upscale crowd. I should also mention they've undertaken some really ugly renovations adding lots of ugly and unnecessary concrete to an otherwise natural lake front. Bottom line, these people should pack up and move to Tampa or Ft. Myers were people appreciate their brand of whatever that is they're doing. Might be worth a visit if you're an aspiring restauranteur looking at what not to do. Finally, and to be fair it's very unlikely but, it still wouldn't surprise me if I were to read someday this was something like an elaborate money laundering operation.

Had another great meal at the Lake House on the new beach front outdoor space and enjoyed the waterfront ambiance. We hadn't been since before the pandemonium hit and really like the great stone work and seating area they have created. The new menu items were varied and featured locally sourced fresh foods so that there were options for vegetarians/vegans, meat eaters, and pescatarians. Everything was prepared to perfection with well thought out flavor combinations. Service is always excellent and accommodating with food allergies. We were so happy that they are able to open with the outdoor seating and hope that they are able to eventually expand hours as life returns to normal soon because we missed eating here. We're lucky to have this hidden gem in the hill towns!

The place is out of business up for sale. Best thing that could have happened. Hopefully new owners will bring it back with quality

Pro tip- to get seated on the deck apparently you have to be important. If you attempt to try to get a table on the deck and you are not in this secret club expect to be treated like a second class citizen. Here's a tip for you - Ashfield lake house- try considering -treating all your customers equal -all patrons get equal access to the deck ( not just secret club members) -kind treatment from waitstaff ( not just regulars or locals) -equivalent pours ( I want the same size pour as the secret club members) If you refuse to do these things at least try to be more discrete with you bizarre favoritism policy. It makes people feel uncomfortable. Pretty disappointing experience. The food was good but ruined by the sub par treatment from the staff.

I am 52 years old and this was the worst experience I have ever had TRUELY. We waited 1 and 1/2 hours to sit down. We had been told it was a 30 minute wait. The waitress thanked us for our patience multiple times (be then it was pretty much gone!). We finally were seated at a table near the bar. It was so loud, smashing glasses multiple times at the bar some guy in a pineapple shirt yelling to friends. After ordering and waiting another 40 minutes without food. We got up and walked out. My spouse and I will never go again. This a Noho millienial bar with food. So horrible.

Pleasantly surprised with this beautiful restaurant. The outside deck views are to die for overlooking the lake and trees. I got the BLT, ask for the bacon crispy. My mom got the quesadilla and it was perfectly crispy and had the perfect amount of cheese. Our dinner was very cheap mine around 10 and my moms 14. Definitely will go back. (There's a lake and beach about 100 yards from this restaurant.

This place is nice! The menu is small and simple, but the food is great!! I got the burger and it was very well made and tasted delicious. And the fries were some of the best I've ever had! The view was beautiful and the decor was all very log cabin-esk -- very cool. Loved it here and will definitely go again!

So...very busy place, which is a positive. And we just stopped at the end of a long day. Great service, as always, from Anna. We had great drinks and fabulous nachoswitj homemade cheese saw, jalapenos and pickled radishes. A nice surprise.

The fish and chips are amazing. But our waitress was just about the worst one I've ever had. It was our first time eating there, and when we got inside we saw a sign that said "please seat yourself." So we walked out to the deck because it was a beautiful night. There was one empty two-person table, and it was not cleared yet. We sat down and watched the waitress run around for ten minutes without so much as glancing at us. When she finally came over, she immediately said "Just so you know you have to wait to be seated to sit out here," in a very rude tone. My sister and I immediately felt extremely unwelcome. I asked the waitress if she wanted us to move or leave; she said no, but it was going to be a while before she could take our order. We waited fifteen more minutes before even getting a menu, and the whole time we were debating leaving. But we had driven so far to eat here. Throughout the rest of the evening people continued to come out onto the deck and seat themselves and the waitress didn't say a word to them about it. When we left, we looked for a sign that said we should wait to be seated on the deck. There was none. Again, the meal was great, but the waitress made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Terrible customer service.

We had such a blast - sitting under the canopy completely dry in pouring rain - being served delicious food by waiters in rain gear - it was truly an adventure and wonderful family outing. Can't wait to return!

This is probably the worst restaurant in the Hilltowns. They are not accommodating to larger parties. The food is over priced, you can't get even a simple cheeseburger, chicken tenders, or steak. This used to be a great local restaurant/bar that you could go to but now it has turned into a place where normal night life is not accepted. If you plan on going out do not go here as they have a 3 drink limit even if you are not driving. The owner personally is rude and disrespectful and if you are not her type of person you are not treated well, and speaks poorly of her customers using foul language. High bias at this "restaurant". I got a quesadilla it was burnt and $14.00!!! I had a drink, a shot and a quesadilla and for one person spent $30.00! I would never recommend this place to anyone who is looking to go to a bar. This place belongs in Northampton, not Ashfield!

Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever seen in a restaurant. We decided to pop in for a couple cocktails and sit out on the deck because it was beautiful outside. My wife and I were at a table for two and had just gotten our second cocktails (which we got ourselves at the bar) when we were approached by the waitress and asked if we were going to eat. We said that we were only having the drinks (already 20 dollars in) and she informed us she may have to kick us out of our table for people who were going to eat (despite the fact the inside was almost empty) abd that we could stand on the deck if we wanted. A little shocked (because were paying customers purchasing the highest profit margin product they sell) I just said ok. The two women seated next to us at a table for five said that was wrong but it was the waitress and not the establishment. About a minute later a different waitress told them they were going to have to leave their table for people who were eating. Astonished the women said we just ordered two salads and nachos and we have two drinks in front of them. The waitress said we can compromise and took a party of three total strangers who were already seated and moved them to their table so that they could seat another party. Any reputable establishment would have just informed new customers that the deck was full but they were welcome to sit inside anywhere they like. Instead they proceeded to aggravate almost every single paying customer they had in the place. It truly was an astonishingly stupid display of poor Buisness management. I put something on Facebook about it and sure enough one after another of locals and friends who have been there recently have had similar experiences and said they'd never return. They may be doing alright now with tourists who don't know any better but I've been told the locals have stopped going and when the weather gets cold its going to be dead as a door nail in there.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the waitstaff was great. Everything else sucked. The portion size and the quality of some of the food could really have been better for the price. The only good thing was the hot dog. Although the cheese and I think the fries were extra. Had the fish cakes for appetizer, they were so small they were only a few bites each, and I only got 2 a peice. My roommate got the earl grey tea cookies, and only received 3 small cookies.. That were not good quality. I should have sent the fish cakes back TBH. Not returning.

great location. not a fan of the decisions made over the past few years. not open nearly enough, and requires reservations when it is. i wish this place didn't try to be fancy-- just make good bar food and keep your doors open, including for lunch (we used to love coming for lunch). it's access the lake and the deck and a drink we want, more than some kind of dining experience.

Ashfield Lake House is awesome. First of all, for me, the fact that they have a veggie burger reuben is enough. It's delicious and reminds me of when I lived in Harvard Square they had one at Charlie's. I'm obsessed and my non-vegetarian friends all only get that, every time. So needless to say I was in love as soon as I saw it on their menu. Plus it's delicious! Cheesy, smothered in sauerkraut, perfectly toasted rye bread served with potato salad or homemade cole slaw. Everything else my friends have gotten they loved, too. Pasta dishes, seafood, burgers, chili. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. Oh my God, and the desserts! I don't even usually get dessert but we did once - peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and a ridiculously decadent, HUGE piece of chocolate cake. Lots of choices pretty cheap, and very generous portions. The location is really beautiful! I loved sitting on the deck overlooking the lake over the summer and early fall. But it was just as nice sitting inside at a window table with the sun shining in and the serenity of big sky and lake views. You can swim in the lake, too, which I did one night after dinner a few months ago! It's got a bar with a decent selection and some regulars. It's very low key, casual, and relaxed. Seems like people knew each other in there. Lots of bikers during the warmer months; it's in a beautiful area to ride. The only thing I don't love about it is you can smoke on the deck and sometimes lots of people do. I really don't like inhaling other people's cigarette smoke. It's a really great place anyway, though; definitely one of my favorites in the area. And I heard they have music there some weekend nights, though I haven't seen any yet. If they are still doing this, I'll definitely check it out sometime!

Full house with 3 waitresses. Drinks came promptly but food took a while. Refill of sodas are $2 each! Grilled chicken was over cooked. Rest of food was nothing special.

We stopped in on a warm Friday night about 6:30. Parking lot looked full but plenty of room inside as they have a spacious deck. Interior as previously noted is Road house/50's Adirondack. It's been modified a bunch of times and the overall mood is very casual. The AC was off as it still hasn't hit the dogs days of summer yet but with the windows open to the lake there was a nice breeze. I was hesitant to order seafood as we were on the north shore last weekend and got very spoiled on fresh delicious entrees. But as the previous reviewer noted the chef knows their stuff. I had the salmon fillet with a house sauce and home made fries. Very well prepared and presented. My wife had the NY strip steak charged to perfection. Nice dark green salads finished the plate. All the while sipping a nice Rose'. We guessed what was on the dessert menu and we were both wrong. My wife had a wonderful lemon tart and I had a chocolate mousse parfait with a fresh cup of coffee. We will certainly come again.

After weeks of closure due to Covid 19, Dre has provided "take out" tonight. OMG, this was amazing: fiddleheads, tender flakey salmon, greens and delicate basmati rice: superb! cooked to perfection and gorgeously presented. Of course we indulged in desert, and Emily's heart shaped brownies were luscious! Saving the poppy seed cake for breakfast. And Dre even provided granola for tommorrow morning What a wonderful treat after weeks of isolation. And all of it beautifully packaged. We love the Lakehouse. They are customer driven, talented, and always delightful! And they really create a sense of comfort and community. Thank you for a magical experience!

Yes, it's on a beautiful lake, but think roadhouse. Think classic rock n roll spun on a Wurlitzer jukebox (they don't have one but stay with me). Think local joint where the bartender actually talks to you and will remember your drink 4 months later. Think (no, drink) great draft beers from the best breweries in Massachusetts, and then some. Think local flavors and think deserts by a chef who was learned her chops baking for Boston's best. Above all, stop in and meet the salt-of-the-earth farmers and teachers and strivers who make this state great. If you should happen to find yourself in these parts (and you should), make it a destination.

Full bar, good food, can't lose! I loved the Lake House before the Rawlings took over, when the spot felt like a grungy roadhouse/cross section of humanity. Artists, bikers, little league teams and those of us from out of town came together around the lake. But this renovation... took it to another level. Gone is the Sysco food, replaced by local fare and house-prepared salads and sauces. You can still make "bad" decisions (aka the best ones) and get some chicken wings, fries or patty melts; but now you choose a satisfying salad or other virtuous vegetable something (to go with your onion rings). The charm of the roadhouse remains, but some of the aforementioned grunge has gone away from the places that count (like the fryers and fridges, nooks and crannies in the bars and tables). The bar still welcomes regulars to while away the hours over reasonably-priced spirits and conversation but has expanded its reach to include those of us who were otherwise intimidated to sidle up a year ago. So in conclusion: get out to Ashfield and support this local business. Be patient with your servers, embrace change and offer your feedback to the new owners -- who care deeply about their community in Ashfield -- and they will listen. And if you're a snowmobiler -- LET ME KNOW! Now that I'm a bar-sidler, I'm angling for an invite...

Extremely friendly staff. Great views if you can sit outside. Limited draft choices, maybe 5-6. Miller Lite was extremely cheap. (Only $3 a pint). Had grilled chicken sandwich. Overall pretty good, just s little thin. Didn't have the wings but saw some going out and they look good. I'll try them next time!

Me and my family come here all the time to enjoy the delicious food and the beautiful view of the lake. Although it is a bit of a drive from where we live, it is totally worth it! I totally recommend this place for families because the food is family friendly AND delicious, and there are so many great foods to choose on.

Went there today most their tables were empty and there was only three other people at the bar, yet they couldn't handle serving those that were there. They forced me to sit at the bar because I was by myself. The bartender was very flustered and had no time to take my order. Finally I asked another waitress if I could sit on the deck and eat out there, her answer was crazy. Yes you can sit out here, but I can't serve just one person out here. So I told her I would just leave then since I didn't get service at the bar. Instead of being accommodating to someone who would have come back many times over the summer bringing many people with me. She decided it was better not to serve a customer. Just went down the road to a much busier restaurant in Shelburne Falls overlooking the water, much better service and had no problem letting me get a table even though they were packed. So as per other reviews, not only can Ashfield Lakehouse not handle larger groups, they can't handle one person even when they are slow. Won't be going back.

Love this place. First time I walked in, I thought "dive bar" with my "big city" eyes, but boy was I wrong. Menu is a mixture of classic comfort/bar options PLUS really unique and inspired dishes. You get to choose based on your mood. Cocktails are fun, beer list is like the food with the old stand-bys plus some great local options. The staff is great - they are often very busy, but still pleasant, informative, helpful and if you come in often enough, warm and family-like. Summers are awesome on the deck. This place is a hidden gem.

I think are still struggling to re-invent themselves so maybe give it more time? My 14 year old daughter aptly summed up our experience of poor service with even worse food with the comment "it feels like Christmas at ****'s" which meant an atmosphere too loud waiting for sustenance that never came.

Under new management since 2016, the menu has been raised to new heights. Try the pasta bolognese.

A comfortable place with a nice view of the lake. But frankly, our lunch was not that good. And it wasn't cheap! We were surprised, considering some of the rave reviews. Later, a local told us to just stick with the burger. Nonetheless, it's a pleasant enough spot to land during a Sunday drive.

We just returned from lunch here, and while the ambiance outside on the deck was lovely, we were surprised how rigid they were in helping to tweak a salad so that someone in our party with a pepper allergy could eat at least one thing on the menu. We also realized after we left that they charged us more for the fish sandwich than the menu said.

I have visited the Ashfield Lake House through multiple owners for 25 years. I had the lobster ravioli a few days ago, for $18.00. I should have read the menu more closely because what came out was a small plate with ravioli that seemed to be mostly tomato sauce. I tasted lobster once. There was nothing else with it- no salad, no veggies, no bread. It is listed on their menu under "Big Plates." (By the way, their menu on line is different from the menu at the restaurant.) It was more like an appetizer. I went home and fixed dinner. My friend got potato skins, and they turned out to be a baked potato with some cheese, for $8.00

Definitely a local joint. Food was good. Atmosphere was poor and service was okay. Seemed good for the regulars ( much loud profanity) but not very welcoming to everyone else.

We had a wonderful and tasty dinner. The menu is simple, but our burgers, fries, coffee, dessert were all delicious and we could tell care was taken in preparation of all. The waitstaff were friendly and very efficient. Great vibe of an easy going family friendly neighborhood place. We will be back again, and recommend it to friends.

Stopped in for a beer & a bite to eat. Got here st 10:03. "Kitchen closes at 10". But you can get dessert". Ordered the carrot cake. Not homemade. Asked for coffee. "the coffee maker has been turned off". Really ? The bar tender was very unaccommodating. How do you offer dessert & not coffee? How hard is it to turn on the coffee maker & brew a pot? Two words the need to know CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I had a mixed experience at this place. The food was really good, but some of the staff just seemed bothered to be helping us. We had to wait for a table so we got drinks at the bar, the bartender seemed kind of bothered to have to wait on us. Other than that our waitress was really nice and the food was good. The Gorgonzola garlic bread was the best part.

I have been a long time fan of the Lake House over the course of many owners. For the last several years, it has been revamped by new owners who care about the whole experience. First although the place has renovated and reimagined, it still has its original, cozy charm. It's a warm place with lots of wood, beautiful bar, view over the lake---it has the feel of a family tavern. The food ranges from really tasty pub staples to more sophisticated entrees. Admittedly, the prices went up a little over the years so depending on your budget--if you're like me--you may not always venture into the entree unless it's more special occasion, but the overall difference is in the quality, the ethics (locally sourced--no Cosco bull shit), and service. The bar has an amazing selection of craft beers for a place out in cow country with no cell service, but also has your cheapo delicious Bud bottles and Naragansetts. One of the best values on the menu is a delicious and super fresh fried fish sandwich. Other favs are the house made mozzarella wedges, chop salads, Reubens, a lucky devil chicken sandwich...and ever changing specials. Some have been naysayers as the place was finding its feet in its first year...but I love the place and can recommend it easily.

Just a classic roadhouse, gotta stop in for a beer or two. Liked the wings (sauce on side), nachos not so much. Food came out fast, waitress was very nice, menus were oddly homemade, maybe they have new ones being printed?

Really wanted to like this place especially because the food we had was really good, but our service was so bad that I can't. Loved that it was relaxed and seat yourself but it took about 10 minutes for us to even get a menu, and when we did, the server was in the middle of taking another table's order and one patron was taking too long so she walked over and handed us 1 menu then went back. She then went inside to place their order and didn't come back to get our drink order for quite some time. Then took an overwhelmingly long time to serve our drinks (a flight of beers and a beer). After we finally ordered our food came out pretty quickly, and it was really good but it wasn't exactly correct. My salad was missing fish and I told the server just to forget it. We saw the owner go around and ask everyone how everything was but never stopped at our table. That's what I didn't get. Our server was clearly in the weeds and it's understandable that with a few large tables our two top would be the one to get slighted, but why wouldn't the owner just come over and drop some menus or take our drink order?

We started with a pleasant late-afternoon swim in the lake and then had a wonderful meal. The service was fast and very friendly. Nachos and wings were great. Burgers were fantastic. And the kids' meals were perfect. I can't think of another time when all three of our kids ate every bite on their plates. To top it off, they had Wormtown Be Hoppy, one of the best beers in Massachusetts, on tap. I have a new favorite Hilltown restaurant and will definitely be back soon.

This was only our first trip to the Lakehouse and we went based on others' recommendations; we went on a Wednesday evening. One star would be because of the view on the deck, but there were some smokers that were way too close and either the smoke blew straight on us or onto the folks on the rest of the deck. Also, the waitresses were very over worked and seemingly stressed out. It took over an hour to get our food and we never got our salad but we were still charged for it even though we questioned the waitress about it. The food was passable but undistinguished, and the fries tasted like fish. For a medium bowl of veal stew over rice we were charged 16 dollars, the waitress' excuse was she would have to go back inside and recalculate which she didn't want to do. Not sure if we shall visit again.

Went back last night. It was unusually quiet for a Friday night which was a good thing. There was live music that I was not enjoying. Drinks were cheap and strong, and the deck was nice. The food here is just okay. I would recommend going here for a drink.

Going to the Lakehouse is kind of like an evening vacation to me. I go for a nice long swim in the lovely lake. I hang out with the beautiful white ducks and the minnows. My boyfriend hangs out at the bar and has yummy local beers (tonight: BBC) I come in and avail myself of one of their fabulous mixed drink specials (usually involving a locally grown fruit or herb) (tonight: pineapple Mojito). Then we have a superfabulous meal at a reasonable price in a funky, low key, comfortable atmosphere. Friendly bikers are a plus. Tonight the boyfriend had a scrumptious slow-cooked brisket. I had amazingly delicious scallops on Caesar salad -- we moved here from Gloucester yet this was the most delicious seafood dish I've had, maybe ever. We both had to resist the impulse to pick up our plates and lick them. I would come here three or four nights a week if I could. Also, free wifi. And realllly nice waitstaff and bartenders! Oh! I almost forgot -- one night we were surprised to see a band setting up. Almost moved to the back for fear they would suck. Glad we didn't; they were totally fun! "Chicken Wire" -- check em out.

Great find off the beaten path. Great bartender and drinks. Cozy setting on a small lake and obviously a favorite of the locals, which is a place we like to go. Plenty to choose from on the menu and service was excellent. I was a little disappointed in my meal as it was bland, and one of our party of six didn't like her meal, but everyone else raved about how good theirs was. Probably depends on what you order. Would go back again, especially for the welcoming atmosphere and staff.

Yes, four stars but that's not to say it's equal to fancier places with higher quality ingredients. But, for what it is, basically a bar with a full restaurant menu, it succeeds admirably. We stumbled across it looking for a place to each lunch and had absolutely no expectations. The room was filled with regulars, older guys who had their favorite bar stools, blue-collar workers, and college age kids in flip flops, T-shirts, and lots of tats. There's nothing on the menu that is surprising, the usual sandwiches and diner-type entrees but we thought it was a place that didn't just call up the restaurant supply place and heat everything up in the microwave or the fryer. I had a shaved prime rib sandwich that came with sauteed onions, cheese, and real, not canned, sauteed onions. It was a simple sandwich that was prepared excellently. And it was under ten bucks! A great sandwich or hamburger can be just as satisfying as meal in a three-star restaurant. And the wait staff (one girl who was waitress and bartender) had a great sense of humor, made actual human contact with us, and was relaxed but professional. She didn't tell us her name or want to be our best friends but she made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxed. I recommend this place for an easygoing, completely satisfying meal in a non-judgmental atmosphere that welcomes all types of people.

This place could be so great! Beautiful setting and great menu. Unfortunately my family and I had our first and likely last experience here over the weekend. After being there it is hard to imagine the current ownership lasting much longer. The service was poor. Our waitress was snippy and dismissive after a few questions about the menu. And the food? Really, really mediocre. Upon paying, we discovered that they would not honor our gift certificate. We're pretty reasonable people. I admit the gift certificate was a few years old and apparently the restaurant is under new management. We did not know this and there was no expiration date listed on the certificate. We were given a solid, firm (and again, rude) "No way" with unnecessary comments about lawyers and how they are under no legal obligation to honor our gift certificate. As a customer, I don't care about your lawyers. I'm here to enjoy myself with my family and you should really want me to come back. There was no effort to meet us halfway. As a business owner, you have so many options! Honor the gift certificate anyways knowing that this would increase our likelihood of coming back and giving you a second chance (as well as telling and bringing back our many local friends and family), Give us 10% off, or offer a gift certificate to use in the future. Maybe even apologize for the inconvenience. We were offered none of these things and I guarantee it was the worst option for both of us. I hope others have a better experience and that the current management starts to realize the importance of their customers. I'm afraid you've lost several here.

Kind of fun and funky, rustic style. Beautiful lakeside views. Average diner-type bar food. A pool table. Live music some weekends. Not the cleanest place. If you're germ-phobic, I'd say stay away.
