A shockingly good dinner experience. After all these thousands of meals or restaurants around the world,, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a meal more. An intimate, white tablecloth grill with hardwood panels. Small, busy, yet very personal.
The small plate — scallops in their shells — were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Another small plate, mushrooms with a truffle sauce and topped with a lightly fried saffron rice ball was rich and delicious. My main course, the lamb ribs and backstrap was easily the best lamb dish, possibly the best meat dish, I’ve ever eaten. This restaurant is high Michelin quality at a surprisingly nominal cost. They have a tremendous wine list which we did not indulge in, but this was certainly one of the best fine dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I can’t recommend Astor Grill more high.
