This was our first time going to this music venue and I could not have been more impressed! The venue is extremely intimate and we were so close to the artist on stage. The sound system was great (bring ear plugs if you want hearing protection). The staff were friendly and plentiful. Bathrooms were clean. They had free water. The rooftop bar was an homage to prior businesses in the spot prior. Perfection 👌🏻 Will be back!

Really incredible venue! The simplicity of it brought me so much joy. First of all, it’s an extremely small venue—if I had to guess, it doesn’t fit more than around 400 people—picture 1/3rd of the size of the 930 Club. The vibe was incredible—they did a really good job of recreating what once was an iconic venue for bands like Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers at the beginning of their careers. Definitely go up to the rooftop! That is where you can really get a feel for the culture of DC’s music scene in the 80s. They have three bars in total (one on the first floor, one on the second floor, and one on the rooftop). Plenty of bathrooms (both individual and larger ones). Things to be aware of: - I didn’t see any merch booth—not sure if that was just for ASAP Ferg or they don’t have one for any artists? - They have a very strict non-smoking AND vaping policy indoors and outdoors - They don’t have any food Highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you want an intimate concert experience!

The Atlantis is tied, in my estimation, with the Black Cat as the best music venue in the city. An intimate space that pulls big acts, there are almost no bad places to stand, as you’re always under 20 - 30 ft away from the act, and usually much closer. There is one pillar on the first floor that could conceivably block views, which was included as a nod to the original 9:30 Club, I think, but it’s not that hard to avoid. We’ve seen Billy Idol, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Alice Merton, and Miya Folick here, among others, and will keep coming back. There’s rarely a wait at the bar, and the beer selection is good at average venue prices. Unlike the Anthem, though, there are plenty of reasonably priced bars nearby where you can get cheaper drinks before the show. The sound quality and volume are good, far less deafening than other venues in the city. The bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. I love this place, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see either their favorite band or a new up and comer.

Saw Chase Shakur here and had a great time! The Atlantis is a solid venue with lots of space, clean bathrooms, and drinks were easy to grab. Even if you arrive a bit late, there are still plenty of good spots with a clear view of the stage. It was also super easy to grab an Uber afterward since the street isn’t too busy. Would definitely come back for another show!

Google
Awesome intimate venue. Seemed well set up and easy for all to enjoy a show. Ticket price was good and the show was incredible. Great smaller venue to see any act you like without ever having a bad spot to enjoy the show. Will go back for every artist that I like that performs there. #aurorawave

Google
While the Atlantis appears to be an inviting and intimate venue - perception doesn’t meet reality - the workers there will do everything in their power to ruin your experience. I was looking forward to a fun night with my hot date, but the staff’s rude, judgmental behavior poisoned the whole experience. It felt less like attending a concert and more like being monitored by a pack of surly hall monitors with nothing better to do. It’s hard to enjoy good music when you’re surrounded by people who clearly don’t want you there and act like your presence is a burden on them. The staff radiate disdain like it’s part of the job description.

Google
1st time at the venue. Very cool and it’s a great size to showcase artist. Sound was perfect live and they also have an upstairs floor to view the performances. Bar was convenient downstairs and up. The merch location was perfect in a corner. Bathrooms were clean and usable. I got to see Goldie Boutilier and meet her. Awesome night.

Google
1st time visit for a venue I used to visit in the late 80's. Redone with historic charm of the old days. I had a great time seeing Patterson Hood & Lydia Lunchless perform separately & later today. Great bar staff too! Recommended! 💯

Yelp
From the layout to the outdoor patio to the general vibe, this is definitely one of the cooler venues I've visited. Never experienced the OG 930 Club, but apparently The Atlantis is supposed to replicate the former in its heyday. The two-story setup is greatly appreciated if you don't want to be in the heart of the mosh pit but still want a closeup view of the act. The second story is also set up stadium-seating style, so the tier ahead of you is lowered, making it easier to see over. But as always, plan accordingly so you can get a decent spot. Acoustics get pretty loud, due to the compact and intimate setting--which is also Awesome because you really feel immersed in the show. Just don't forget your earplugs for this venue. Other perks: Drinks surprisingly affordable for DC, friendly and helpful staff, the bathrooms were ridiculously clean (Amazing), and it's within close walking distance to other bars and restaurants if you wanted to grab a bite pre or post show.

Yelp
Great place to see a show. Good views of the stage from any location. Sound and stage lighting is pretty good for a small venue. Security worked fast to move the line through. My only gripe is the high prices on drinks.

Yelp
Fantastic smaller venue. Sound is perfect and incredible for such a small venue. It's a replica of the original 930 Club and attached to the new 930 club. Worth noting that the bar does not accept cash. So come with a card. Drink prices weren't as insane as some venues. Good selection of non-alcoholic options and they use heavy plastic cups which are to be put in a recycle bin similar to how you do after seeing a 3D movie. So it's ecologically and environmentally sound. Would absolutely consider this a preferred venue of mine.

Yelp
We stood by the rail on the upper level. The sound quality was amazing. It felt very personal and the performers interacted with the audience easily. Even from the top we could make out the small details on the performer's clothing. I would also note that the show we saw was in May and the air conditioning was amazing. We were not hot at all (and not cold either) I would definitely attend another show there.

Yelp
A beautiful and very intimate venue next to the 9:30 club! The staff are very kind, the acts are great, and the facilities are super clean. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The first concert I attended at The Atlanis was Bartees Strange, with Jachary as the opening performance. The venue is small and very cold, standing only with two levels, and I can't wait to come back for my next experience; I'm looking up all the upcoming acts I can to have an excuse to do so. I love how convenient The Atlantis is to public transit - several buses as well as the U street metro stop. The venue itself is beautiful- very clean, including the bathrooms, which might partially be newness but also speaks well of how the staff are maintaining the facilities, because there have been dozens of performances with thousands of people attending already. The acoustics are excellent. I confess I was only recently familiar with Bartees Strange when I saw that he was one of the inaugural 44 acts for the opening of the venue. After seeing him live, I'm definitely a fan - his performance was moving, uplifting and exciting all at once, and the intimacy of The Atlantis was an amazing space to showcase his skills. I want to see more shows like this, Bartees and others, because to me this is what live music is supposed to be. Just an FYI, another reason to love The Atlantis is the sustainability focus through their r.cup program - when you order a drink, you get it in a reusable "r.cup," when when you're done there are clearly marked bins where you return them and the facility washes and reuses them. You're not allowed to bring in your own beverage containers so this is a nice option. Beverage options include a good selection of beers, liquors, a few wines, and sodas as well, and they're pretty fairly priced too. The one downside of the experience was how COLD it was, but then again I'm ALWAYS cold. A lot of people, including my partner, purchased hoodies and other merch to layer up for warmth, but I'll just wear a warmer jacket (and scarf) next time. I can't wait!

Yelp
450. 450! That is the capacity of The Atlantis. So yep, it's tiny. And there's not a bad spot to stand in the place. The rooftop is super cute and made up to look like the street did back when. The bartenders are friendly and quick. The beer list is good. And the sound was great.

Yelp
This was a really cool venue, but unfortunately our night was ruined by the people who work there. The crew who did security checks treated us like we were stupid, and were generally miserable. During the concert, they kicked one of my friends out for doing absolutely nothing wrong. It is clear that their employees were looking for people who seemed even a little bit tipsy. We are grown adults who paid to get in to the concert and were enjoying ourselves without bothering anyone! It was absolutely absurd. Be aware

Yelp
we were kicked out of this venue; as paying customers, because my friend (at age 47) had an expired license. . We tried to reason with the staff, explaining that no one is trying to break any laws. They were still unapologetic and very unsympathetic, kicked us all out. I will never grace the doors of this venue again. I will also tell everyone I know, do not waste your money. This venue is not worth any effort, because they clearly do not care about their patrons. Not worth it.

Yelp
The Atlantis is a great place to see a concert. It is very intimate. The acoustics are also great. Come early in order to get a good spot to enjoy the show.
