"Down-home Irish fare is Long Beach’s Auld Dubliner’s specialty. The name was borrowed with permission from the original in Dublin and since 2004 continues to serve plates of cured ham and cabbage, Guinness beef stew, and even boxty, old-school Irish potato pancakes." - Mona Holmes, Eater Staff

"Use the following instructions when dining at Long Beach’s Auld Dubliner: Go with at least four companions, ask for beer recommendations on draught, and order the shepherd’s pie with the bestselling fish and chips. "The Auld Dubliner, opened in 2004 by Limerick-born David Copley, is Long Beach’s most traditional Irish pub. The pub offers perfectly poured pints, flakey fish and chips, and warm hospitality. The wooden walls, cabinetry, and tables were handmade in Collon, Ireland, and the bar is filled with Irish paraphernalia. The pub is known for its welcoming atmosphere and has become an honored institution in Long Beach." - Brian Addison

The beer is cold and there are daily happy hour specials. I’ve enjoyed this establishment multiple times over the years, we like to stay nearby when visiting. When the crew in the back is on their game fried items come out just right, their specialty items have solid flavors, quality and consistency and the special concoctions like the corned beef tacos offered recently were liked by several in our group. Prices are in line for the area and not so overinflated that folks on per Diem should balk completely at the cost of the meal. You won’t have much left over for anything, else but some self control with the alcoholic beverages and the evening won’t put you in the “hole”.

Google
Classic, convivial Irish haunt with across-the-pond grub, live music & a full bar turning out pints. Wonderful place to drop in and have a pint with large beer selection. The staff are also amazing and make you feel right at home. Food is wonderful, especially with the atmosphere, little bit of Ireland in Long Beach. It is a short 5 min walk from the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.

The food is fresh and flavorful without being too salty. Our party tried the fish and chips, corned beef sandwich, and chicken boxty (potato pancakes with sauce). The decor is fun and interesting. The whiskey flights are good to try. Service was nice.

The establishment is excellent. I was famished and forgot to capture an image of my fried calamari, which was undeniably delicious. The strawberry margarita and Manhattan I ordered were exceptionally potent drinks. They are sure to leave you satisfied. The customer service is top-notch, earning an A+ rating from me. I am definitely planning on returning to try the pub burger. I am looking forward to revisiting this place, as the ambiance is delightful with live bands performing. I had a fantastic time dancing all night, and everyone was courteous and appreciative, even complimenting my outfit by calling me "lady in red." Whether you bring your friends or come alone, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful evening.

Great atmosphere, service was awesome. Nice live music playing jaunty Irish tunes. The fish was good. The rest of my meal was ok. Still would go back

I came here initially with a friend for the Trivia night on Mondays. First time I just had drinks. Next time I'm so glad I also had food. I expected crappy bar food. But actually I received a very well assembled potato pancake with chicken, mushrooms, and veggies with a very tasty white creamy sauce called the Chicken Boxty. I highly recommend. Also the tacos were well crafted and delicious. Looking forward to Trivia nights and to try more yummy food.

Yelp
Popped in last night for a quick bite before a movie. Never hit 1/2 price Whiskey Wednesday. The selection was great and I did the Uncle Nearest which is from Nashville. The story goes that the whiskey maker for Jack Daniels was a former slave and his talent is now showcased at the Uncle Nearest Distillery. If you're in that area, you should visit both. The Uncle Nearest 1856 at 100 proof went down smoothly. But I broke from tradition and ordered a Corned Beef Sandwich versus the Shepherd's Pie (my friend still got it). So AWESOME. You know when you try something new you can get burnt. But since Auld Dubliner has not disappointed me yet with their Scottish Egg (so good and not greasy or heavy), Bread Pudding (also so light but creamy and sweet) and Shepherd's Pie made with savory lamb that I threw caution to the wind! The corned beef was slice thin and was lean. I can barely remember the slaw that was in the sandwich as I gobbled it down so quickly. The rye bread was grilled perfectly! And BEST OF ALL, the tater tots (I didn't do the calorie splurge and just got them plain) were TOASTY HOT. I can't tell you how frustrated I am with places that serve barely warm fries, etc. I love this place. It's in my neighborhood and fantastic. Not just for tourists that's for sure but the tourists can delight in this place as well. The crowd can vary from a PACKED how to a mellow night. Enjoy.

Yelp
Parking: If you're coming anytime before 9pm then you'll most likely park at the public parking lot across the str eetand walk over. After 9pm, you won't need to pay for the parking meter. I was able to snag a metered parking space after 11pm. Service: Grab a menu, seat yourself to an available table. Order at the bar for food and drinks. There are live band performances on Friday - Sunday. A fair amount of people usually dance in front of the band stage. Even around 11-12pm, 75 -90% seats are filled up. Midori Sour: Great drink. It's more on the sweeter side than sour. Midori sour mostly is made with Midori melon liqueur, vodka, lemon juice, lime juice and paired with sweet cherry. Every bar might have different concoctions. Tater tots (bacon and cheddar): tater tots were crispy and topped with melted chedder and bits of bacon. The best dish overall. Highly recommend to share. Calamari: Batter texture was a bit soft side. The standard amount of calamari was served. Chicken tenders and fries: Fries were overly salted. Chicken tenders were a bit dry. But it was plenty of heaping portion.

Yelp
Food was great. We got there 5:30pm on a Friday and it was a small crowd with self seating. Bartenders are attentive as you have to order everything at the bar and either keep the tab open or close out immediately after you order. Started with the Banger Wontons which was surprisingly crispy and had a nice beef feeling. The sauce was interesting but the bbq'y/ vinegery taste works with the flavor combo. I had the fish & chips which was super flaky and it melts in your mouth. My wife got the Irish smoked salmon. Would recommend if the bar scene is your vibes.

Yelp
What a cute and homelike Irish pub! This a def a local favorite! First time here and it was a vibe! Service was a bit slow but only for a short while. There were changing the beer kegs ?? Def recommend their Kilkenny Irish cream Ale! So tasty! If you're into Irish whiskey and would like to branch out from the typically known whiskeys in the market this is the place. They have a variety of whiskeys most people haven't heard of and they are in my opinion better than Jameson and so forth! Family friendly and they have little kids performances during the day. Maybe next time we have dinner here

Adam F.

Yelp
Funny enough, despite living relatively down the street, I'd just assumed it was a generic "Irish pub" for years, until I read an article last year claiming that Auld Dubliner had the best fish & chips in the city - that put it on my map, obviously, and I had to try them to check out the claim. Of course, when I saw they had a solid happy hour (weekdays until 6), I made sure to be there for it. The bar area was fairly raucous when I got there, but they have a much quieter front patio, so we ordered and then sat there. Between the two of us, we shared: an order of fish & chips (was $22, looks like it's up to $24 now), an a happy hour-priced order of calamari, mac & cheese balls, and 6 fried oysters (two orders). Zero problem with service or food speed - everything came out about as quickly as you'd expect it to. That said, I don't think I'd want to argue that the fish & chips were the best in the city - they were quite good, probably a bit better than England Fish & Chips', but also like 3x more expensive, and definitely not 3x better. They were very good, though. I *would* definitely recommend their happy hour, though - also wasn't the best calamari I'd ever had, but it was quality, and a great price during happy hour. Same with the mac & cheese balls - and good fried oysters are *hard* to find in Long Beach, so there's a lot less competition there (I'm not a fan of oysters unless they're super fried, which theirs very much are, but I could tell they were quality oysters under all the "fried". The hh menu just says "oysters", but at least when we were there, they were happy to serve them either raw or fried for the same price.) I also had an $8 Guinness, and a $7 blackberry Irish whiskey highball (both also happy hour price). Nothing I'd go out of my way for, but if I were here for the food, I'd also be happy about those prices, again, if I were there for a relatively early, i.e. before 6 PM, dinner on a weekday, but that is also likely why I would be there. (Well, either that or for an event - I have also been to one of their $25, once a month or so, whiskey tasting events, which are occasionally very much worth it if you like trying fancy Irish whiskeys, or at least that one was. Also tried their half-cider, half-Guinness "Black Satin" beer cocktail while at that event, to pair with said whiskey - turns out that's a weirdly great combo - and a Scotch egg, which wasn't happy hour priced at the time, but I believe is also on their happy hour. Anyway, was also a great Scotch egg.)

Lixa A.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday unplanned but it was a pleasant lunch. A friend recommended sharing the Guinness here is served at the temperature it should be, same as in Ireland. The hubby enjoyed it. We started with a scotch egg, tasty! He ordered the fish & chips, it did not disappoint. I ordered the cornbread & cabbage, beef was tender and cream sauce was very good; it came with a 1/4 head of cabbage, large thick sliced carrots and 2 small red potatoes. The veggies were boiled but had no flavor, I should have asked for more cream sauce.....I asked for butter for my potatoes and still enjoyed my meal, just felt the veggies could have had more flavor (dip them in the juices of the corned beef?) We would return, food was worth the drive from Pasadena.

Yelp
Wait... I haven't written a review for this place before?! I swear I have! Years ago! Pre-covid! Ok, well here goes! So I've come here plenty of times in the past with friends! Great place for birthdays with live music!! Great selection of drinks and food too! So a couple nights ago... (Wednesday, I think?) my date and I wanted to find a place to eat because I was starving after a loooong business meeting and we both love fries! Called a few places on Yelp and someone at R Bar or Yardhouse said check this place out because they don't close the kitchen until 12am or 1am! We got here as fast as we could! Got rockstar parking in front! Heard a cool dude playing live music with his guitar (I added him on IG: JeffLivingstonemusic) and he's there weekly, I think? I love live music! Anyway, we ordered the fish and chips! Mmmm! Split into two... perfect! Crispy & satisfying! The slaw was gone in 5 seconds! lol! Thank you guys!

Yelp
There was a restaurant in Long Beach that I wanted to try for their beef wellington. Unfortunately, that restaurant closed down for renovations and rebranding, so instead we went to The Auld Dubliner, an Irish pub that had beef wellington on the menu. On Yelp, it just lists beef wellington as an item on the menu. Unfortunately, in person, the menu noted beef wellington was only available on weekends. I was not super hungry, so I got a pub burger with a side of vegetables, and my friend got the Shepherd's Pie. Reportedly, the shepherd's pie was very good, and the lamb was super juicy and delicious. I also enjoyed my pub burger. It was cooked to a medium as I requested. The vegetables were also seasoned.

Joe M.

Yelp
Fish and chips are very good. The falafel and feta salad were very good. Services's was excellent. We ate outside which is pleasant. The chocolate cake is fantastic.

Chris R.

Yelp
As far from an Irish pub as you can get. Bartender was rude as hell and we left without even being served. I don't give many bad reviews, but being dismissed and disrespected is a deal breaker. Also the place smelled like dirty mop water. Such a let-down.

Michael H.

Yelp
My friend told me to check this place out and I am glad I did! I was not that hungry so I just ordered some small items. I ordered the Fried Mac and Cheese, Corned Beef Taco, and Crispy Fish Taco. The service was good enough. I knew that there were other concerns that needed to be dealt with. All of the items ordered were delicious! I don't normally eat Mac and cheese, but this will help your appetite. The bar is a good place to meet friends for drinks and they have a good selection of Irish drinks! I'll have to come by next time to try the other menu items!

Craig W.

Yelp
This is a very cool Irish-ish pub with mostly good food and a very good selection of Irish beers and whiskeys. Kid friendly, too. Note: they have Kilkenny on tap, which is a cream ale that is almost impossible to find in the U.S. and A. It's delicious. Give it a try. I am here to spread the Gospel of Kilkenny. The decor is great. They probably have enough Guinness memorabilia to open a museum. Be aware that the "chips" here mean French fries. The "Irish American" nachos were French fries ("chips") with some melted cheese, bacon crumbles, green onions, and a little bit of sour cream. Frankly, the toppings were pretty skimpy. If they were more generous with the toppings, this would be a winner. The Pub burger comes with cheese and enough veggies on the patty to make you think you're eating healthy. It's a solid burger. And if you like blue cheese, the Cashel Blue Cheese burger is a winner. The menu is basically straight ahead American pub food with some Irish twists thrown in here and there. Personally, I wouldn't call tacos with corned beef traditionally Irish but if it tastes great, then I am all for it. Our service was good. They have a patio on the street if you want to eat outside.

David C.

Yelp
Oof, this was an absolute disaster. I have been looking for a decent Irish pub in Los Angeles for decades with no luck. It's amazing I can find excellent Guinness stew in Albuquerque but nothing in L.A. C'mon! I saw the pics on Yelp! and thought their stew and shepherd's pie looked okay, and decided to give them a try on a Sunday early afternoon. Boy was this a mistake. I knew we were in trouble when we showed up and it was a tiny place not on a regular street but on the outside of a gigantic mall near the Long Beach Aquarium. It is nearly impossible to find parking. Maybe it's better on weekdays, but on the weekends, the entrances to the mall parking were all blocked off and street parking was impossible. Somehow we luckily found someone leaving. Otherwise the next structure was one hell of a walk away from the place, which would've only made the experience worse. The place itself looks like a standard Irish pub inside. Also, while I was there a huge group of musicians showed up, sat at a table, and jammed classic Irish folk songs. This was magical, and I was not sure if they were a band warming up who gets paid to play there or they were just like a group of friends who do this as a hobby. Either way the music was the only good thing I experienced here. There is no table service. You order at the bar, and then someone brings out your food to whatever table you sit at with your given food number placard. The tables and condiments were filthy. The metal holder for the condiments was so filthy it was all but super glued to the table. The table was also sticky all over. The missus got the fish and chips, which was meh in flavor but proved to be near deadly as far as food poisoning soon thereafter. Not good when you're about 45 minutes from your home. The Guinness stew tasted rank. All I could think was "Campbell's soup" when I tasted the grim, lifeless flavor. Then my mind was rather blown. For $24 you get exactly three tiny cubes of beef, three slices of carrot, and three slices of potato. It's like rationed out. The bowl is otherwise all sauce even though it's supposed to be a stew and not a soup. I went up and told the bartender, and he said that is all you get for that money. He was nice enough to refund my money, which I appreciate as it was not a meal. I should also be glad, I guess, as it wasn't enough food to make me sick, so I probably got off easy. Even the half and half's were not great. The first pour wasn't allowed to settle so I got a Harp with a huge head of Guinness. The second one I got instantly mixed together and they served it to me anyway. That's not a half and half. And, oddly, the flavor of the beer or smell of the glasses was not pleasant. Something is off - either not properly washed glasses or maybe dirty taps. I don't know. I do know I can cross this off my list and continue my hunt. Do not recommend. Will not be back.

Rusty S.

Yelp
The bar tenders are amazing people. They tend to get rid of waitresses that are crappy or toxic. I've had one before and they let her go thank goodness. The food has changed over the years due to shrink flation but that's me knit picking because I've been going there since 2012. My review is here on 2024. Anyway, food is amazing!! Never go there just for drinks. I recommend the mussels in white wine and Irish nachos and wings. The cocktails are great! The ambiance is a solid 15 out of 10. If you haven't been here with your friends or on date night, you should go there YESTERDAY. You're missing out. Live music after 10pm I believe. It's not always to my liking but when I tell you that ambience/ food/drinks/service is amazing, those will carry you straight to the dance floor for a memorable time.

Theresa N.

Yelp
great food, great service and really good ambiance especially when craic haus is playing!!!!!!!

Cristy B.

Yelp
The food is great here .. but I'm very disappointed of how they have changed stuff in the past year .. the bread for the grilled cheese has gone the cheaper route use to be a very nice sourdough now being a thin slice of white bread. Also another thing I went for happy hour yesterday and they told me no more happy hour menu now it's just $2 off appetizers ! I was literally shocked !!! I use to go for happy hour and the prices were like $7 for fish n chips and like $8 for calamari . Literally perfect portions and great price I don't know why they changed it I am so disappointed in the change .. this was one of my fav happy hour spots .. so sad they took happy hour away from us returning locals .. I think the owner needs to bring back better quality bread for the grilled cheese and the happy hour menu .. because $2 off isn't cutting it .. happy hour made me not so happy . I left and the waitresses was even rude about it saying it's $2 off now and that's it no more happy hour menu !

Keith S.

Yelp
It's across the street from the convention center, and that's all that makes his place special. It's just a pub. Beers on tap are fine, the service is great, but the food is just so so. It's a for a drink, though the appetizers were mediocre at best. The wings were OK and the calamari was awful. Nice place to hang out but that's about it.

Kayla S.

Yelp
We had so much fun here! This is a proper Irish pub that had great food and beer and music. We were only stopping in for "one drink" but stayed way longer than planned because the ambiance was just so fun. We just had some appetizers but everything looked good and I will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Yelp
I came here initially with a friend for the Trivia night on Mondays. First time I just had drinks. Next time I'm so glad I also had food. I expected crappy bar food. Yelp
It had admittedly been quite a bit since i've last stopped into the dubliner and they got me with their *Monday trivia night. Apparently, most *Monday nights you can stop in and enjoy your favorite whatever and enjoy a fun few hours of trivia. It's obviously 21+ and the team names are hilarious so bring your creativity. I had an order of curry chips and a sam adams seasonal. Tbh the curry dipping sauce is almost like a salsa with curry flavor or something. It's just sweet mush. It's missing something to round it out, and I can't put my finger on it. There was a bleu cheese sauce accidentally? served with it and lord, just get that, and keep the fries/chips coming. It has the zing of blue cheese, with the consistency of ranch, and something else to it. Service was consistent, sweet, and the trivia host alone was wonderful working with an entire bar of nerds. If you plan on attending, bring a charged cell phone, and probably friends of multiple generations!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
I went there once and I will never go back for a second time. Ordering Corned Beef and Cabbage was a big mistake. The meat was very tough. It was difficult to cut and chew. I mean, the table was shaking when I would slice it. In addition, it did not taste great. Do not order Corned Beef and Cabbage because it's a waste of money. The service was okay, but nothing special. I don't mind the fact that our server added "Gratuity" on our tab, but the service was standard. Ambiance was fine. I just wished it was cleaner inside. The floor was very slippery and there was this odd smell that I could not stand. It's not going to kill you, but it's noticeable.

Paul L.

Yelp
Food: 4 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambiance and Location: 4 Stars There's always something going on at a good ole Irish Bar. Monday evening turned out to be Trivia Night. The crowd was small, but everyone seemed entertained by the questions and tried to answer them correctly. Not sure about the prize for winning because the game had already started when we walked in. While waiting for our food to be served, I answered one correctly. Question: In 2015, 35,000 people signed a petition requesting the administration to begin constructing which Star Wars figure? Answer: The Death Star. I chose this restaurant because I was craving some Fish and Chips. However, due to the Trivia Night, the atmosphere was loud. It was not the place for a quiet chitchat. The first table we picked out in the back was shaky, and a slight tap caused my full beer to spill over. Argh. What I ordered: FISH and CHIPS (Fresh Haddock, Hand Cut Chips, Coleslaw, Tartar Sauce, Mushy Peas* available on request) - The portion of the meal, especially the fish, was good. I loved the presentation of how the size of the fish protruded from the plate. The Hand Cut Chips were a banger, and I loved how they rested on top of the fish like a nest. I just discovered that the Mushy Peas was only available on request, so it was not on my plate. The meal was solid and delicious; However, the price had risen since I was last here. SNAKEBITE DRNK (One part Larger, One part Cider) - One of my favorite drinks at an Irish Bar. If Irish, the beer has to be Harp Lager. It's like drinking a Sweet and Sour beverage. The sweetness is from the beer, and the tangy taste is from the cider.

Sam G.

Yelp
Great burgers, great beer! Burgers were juicy and full of flavor. They had a log of really great choices for beer as well. The ambiance was just what I like from a pub - low lit and cool. I definitely recommend.

Greg P.

Yelp
The food was spot-on and very tasty. The service was exceptional and timely. The vibes reminded me of a traditional pub in Ireland. I loved my Beef Wellington!

Shelby S.

Yelp
I came to this spot on a Wednesday night while in the area for a conference. A coworker recommended it and we had a really good time! It wasn't too busy but they did have live music. We easily found a table and service was awesome with very little wait when ordering at the bar. The night we went they were having specials with whiskey, so we definitely took advantage. Their whiskey ginger is delicious.

Duane T.

Yelp
I tried the at the taste venu at the park. Wanted to try them. Went at lunch. Got there at 1140. Unfortunately the didn't open till 12. They should think about opening earlier. People on their lunch break would be able to come.

Peter J. H.

Yelp
Great LIVE music, great food. Had the Guinness Stew which had big chunks of meat and veggies. Also had 4 Harp lagers, which definitely adds to the great times

Natalia T.

Yelp
Stopped for a short drink with friends. It's a very nice, atmospheric place. We stayed at the bar. Our drinks were good and feel like I want to come back and spend some more time there.

Theresa A.

Yelp
Love it here. Came for lunch & fell in love with the Mac and cheese balls. Everyone's super nice and cocktails are yummy !

Athens D.

Yelp
My favorite Irish bar. Always has live music. The interior is definitely like the bars in Ireland. Since traveling to Ireland, I'm particular about my Irish bars. This place has corned beef on their menu, a must have! Variety of drinks. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly service.

Elvia M.

Yelp
This pub was pretty fantastic. The atmosphere was really laid back with lots to see around the bar. Staff were really nice and attentive. We came in with a party of like 12 people and we had a great time. I had ordered a burger and was it delicious. Cooked perfectly and the fries were crisp. I had also ordered an old fashioned but it really didn't have much flavor and was more watered down. The waitress took it back and i ordered the snake bite. It tasted really good! It was a really great experience for my first time and will definitely be back.

Jared O.

Yelp
First time here this evening , looks very authentic as an Irish pub , I was pleasantly surprised, so the bar had a great vibe and a nice group of people were present . I ordered a pint of Harp and shepherds pie both very pleasing to the taste . Kudos to the very attentive Barman and congratulations to the Irish brown bread baker , very good another surprise . I highly recommend this very authentic Irish Pub in downtown Long Beach .

Yelp
Excellent server yesterday afternoon ( female, didn't get name unfortunately). Ambiance is authentic. Good food! Decent kid's menu. Definitely will be back.

Andrea M.

Yelp
Came here with my husband because they show the Arsenal matches. I was expecting your average dive bar and was pleasantly surprised to see that this pub was well maintained and had a decent menu. They have all the beer and whiskey your heart desires. For lunch, my husband and I opted to share the beef stew and dip sandwich with garlic parmesan tater tots. I had high hopes for the beef stew, but it was a little bland and all the meat was at the very bottom! The potatoes and carrots were also a little hard still. The bread served with this dish is....interesting. The dip sandwich was tasty though and I'd for sure order it again. The real star of the whole meal was the garlic parmesan tater tots. Perfectly crispy! If you're an Arsenal fan then this is the pub for you! But you have to get here early to get a spot in front of the big screen. And expect to pay for parking.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
We love the Dubliner and have visited over 100 times while living in Long Beach. The bar is located on Pine Avenue close to the Long Beach marina. They offer the proper Guinness pour and have won awards for doing so. The menu is also fabulous although it has changed over the years. The entire bar was imported from Ireland where it was dismantled there, shipped to the US and reassembled. Sometimes there is authentic live Irish music performed and on those days the bar is packed. We've never eaten a bad meal there and have many happy memories, especially during the "Irish New Year's" celebration with drink specials and a super fun and lively atmosphere. We moved away from the area and cannot find another Irish pub that comes even close to the Dubliner! Looking forward to my next visit there in June for a "proper pour"!!

Yelp
Pike Outlets with its bright modern architecture and then you have this grungy-looking place lol love the contrast. Super chill vibes on a Sunday afternoon with super chill staff. Pleasantly surprised that the full day Irish breakfast can be neatly split into two plates.....and there's no split charge! Everything on it was pretty tasty especially the crispy Irish pudding and snappy sausage. The mushrooms were a tad too salty though, but they were much better when eating them on the toast. Loved the crunchy coating of the Scotch egg. Wished there was more truffle flavor on the goat cheese & truffle oil crisps and some of the crisps were a bit soggy. As for drinks, no skimping on the whiskey in the Irish coffee here lol. The Magner's Irish cider was alright; a little bland for a cider (not dinging the restaurant for this just more as a general FYI). Pretty good experience here overall. 4 stars for the food and I added a star for the service. I recommend this place if you're looking for a dine-in spot at Pike Outlets.

Yelp
I read about this place and it sounded so cool, so I decided to take my family of 4 there. Parking was tough, as to be expected downtown, but we finally found a spot in a paid structure that was a couple blocks away. We walk into the pub and there's a sign that says to grab menus and seat yourself. We grab four menus and walk around the entire restaurant looking for a table, but they're all full. We really wanted to eat there, and we had already paid for parking, so we decided to wait for someone to leave. We stood around for a few minutes, feeling very much in the way, with servers saying "excuse me" to us as they had to get by. Then a group of 5 came in and also started milling about looking for a table. The thought of having to be aggressive to get a table, while also awkwardly being in everyone's way, was too much to handle and we left. I can't believe the Auld Dubliner doesn't take names for a wait list, and instead just lets their potential customers struggle. We ended up eating at a little dive bar called The Pike (which was awesome btw and also crowded) and even there they had a sign that said to see the bartender for a table. The Auld Dubliner seems like such a cool place, if they could only get their wait system organized.

Yelp
We were looking for the perfect place to ring in the new year and feel lucky and grateful to have chosen The Auld Dubliner. Tucked away along the shore line in Long Beach, this Irish Pub is packing some serious flavors and a phenomenal night out! From the deliciously seasoned Irish Nachos, authentic scotch eggs, one of the best salmon apps I've ever had, fried Mac and cheese bites paired with a perfectly spiced jalapeño ranch, to the (how can I put this into words) ridiculously delicious fish and chips, we were in flavor heaven. Food and drink ordering takes place at the bar and is delivered to your table, where wait time, even on New Years Eve, is only about 15 minutes. A live band was playing all night long, and the rustic interior truly gave the feel of an authentic Irish pub. They even passed out complimentary glasses of champagne for a midnight toast and party favors to create a positive and communal celebration. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
A group of my work friends recently met for drinks and appetizers at The Auld Dubliner. Our server was amazing--sorry didn't get her name. The food was very tasty and I felt like we were in Ireland, with the ambiance.

Amazing Fish & Chips! Fresh fish, cooked to order. Such a pleasant experience to order something and receive exactly what you expected. Flaky Haddock fish, with the perfect batter- think and crisp. Stands up to Lemon & Malt Vinegar for the perfect bite. We will Be back. Staff exceptional and location suburb.

Yelp
There is no better vibe. Great night time atmosphere and reasonable drinks. Stop here if you in the LBC

Yelp
Great Irish pub feel. In some ways it is ironic that right next door is california pizza kitchen and some other chains like islands. This pub is anything but corporate chain vibes. Service was great. Food was great as well. Ordered the fish and chips and the cider. Cider was great. Fish was not oily and in fact it was light and crisp. Some places result in a fish fry that is very oily. Not this place. Higly recommend. When you are at the bar, look up and you will see the owner's centerpiece... his father's bike that his dad used to ride to work every day.

Yelp
A lot of microwaved food and very spotty service makes coming here for anything more than a basic Guinness a bit of a dodgy proposition. Edit: in response to manager comments, to be specific, the sausage rolls were in rubbery puff pastry that was obviously fresh out of a microwave, and the 'grilled vegetables' that came with our entrees were microwave hot and a strange mix of overcooked squash and undercooked broccoli and Brussels sprouts, showing no signs of ever approaching a grill. Waitress dropped off the food and left to chat with friends others, so we sat for nearly 30 minutes with no service when we were looking to order more drinks, so we ended up leaving and going somewhere else for drinks. The beer was solid though.

Yelp
I love this place!! Even amidst the chaos of a convention crowd, I was taken care of by the bartenders and enjoyed a delicious meal of Smithwick's and corned beef & cabbage, with a delicate cream sauce; the meal was so yummy I went back for lunch. The first day, the corned beef was thinly sliced; the second featured thicker slices, so there's some variability by chef. The vibe is total Irish Pub, and thankfully they know the proper way to "pull" a Guinness. (Yes, I was officially trained this summer in Dublin!). Folks seem to love the fish 'n' chips--really big piece of cod--but I prefer to keep trying the Irish dishes that are harder to find. There's a more expansive menu when they're not in convention crush. I've been three times now, and it does bring me back to Dublin. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Tried the corned beef and crispy fish tacos. For $4 it was a good portion and the meat was well cooked. The shepherds pie was the main dish to try and very authentic. The mashed potato to filling ratio was spot on and flavorful. We came at odd hours so parking was easy and we didn't have to wait long. If you come on a weekend night though, expect to park in the lot across the street and hope the live music is to your liking. The staff were friendly and attentive. While not 100% Irish pub authentic, as demonstrated by the fusion food, you can get some traditional favorites while also enjoying new things.
