"Open until 2 a.m. nightly with the kitchen firing until last call at 1:45 a.m., the Avenue is the type of place to relive those college years with Fireball shots, Jell-O shots, wings and burgers in a variety of flavors, cheap beer buckets, and more." - Eater Staff

Great place with a HUGE selection of drinks!! Took the "peach me how to bourbon" (bourbon, peach, honey, and lemon w/ orange slice) and loved it! Amazing nachos as well. Amazing vibe and service too!!

Had dinner outside with a friend. We got buffalo tenders and sweet potato tots. It was all so good. The buffalo sauce was amazing. We also got 5 drinks between the 2 of us. I originally ordered the Comm Ave Cooler because it sounded like a mimosa; pretty good. But my friend had I think it was Ryes Up, which tasted like orange plus sprite. That was amazing and we had 4 total of those! The waitresses were really nice and attentive.

Google
Alway my go-to after work place, kitchen always open until late when there's almost nowhere in Allston for good food. Everything is made fresh and delicious. Bartenders are always nice and courteous. Give them a good tip!

Google
It's a fun local bar. Definitely a great overall experience. I get the loaded waffle fries every time I go. They have a solid rotating drink menu and there's always something fun to try.

Google
Had their avenue burger. Solid. Cooked right. Good flavor. Right size and fresh tasting. Our server greeted us promptly and made us feel very well taken care of despite how busy it was during the Celtics playoff game. Ambiance was fun and the place was really clean. Will make a point to go again when l'm around Alston again.

Best cheap burgers and tater tots! Funky vibe and excellent service. Our go-to dive bar!

Google
This is a sports bar on Comm Ave with an extensive selection of beverages. The nachos we ordered were not good, the cheese seemed really hard and over baked. The burgers were alright, very average. There is a great selection of beer and inventive cocktails, so I would recommend coming here for drinks. The best part was the cute ketchup bottle on the table, so adorable!

If you’re looking for a dining experience that will make you question your life choices, this place might be just the ticket. Drinks: The Avenue Bar take on the Negroni is both overpriced and an affront to the senses. Overly sweet and very medicinal. Why messing up a good thing? The Espresso Martini? Bland and watery, with about as much kick as a soggy napkin. I also tried the chips and Buffalo chicken dip. The chips were so old, bland and tough, they could have doubled as a new kind of dental torture. The Buffalo chicken dip was a sorry excuse for flavor, more of a ghost of Buffalo chicken than the real deal. Save yourself the agony and find somewhere else to dine.

Yelp
I've come here a couple times with local friends. It's a nice vibe to just chill and eat. I had a beautiful moment with the avenue's burgers. It started out with one to share with my partner....i ate 2/3 of it. Then I ordered another to share with him but ended up eating the whole thing. Still hungry. Got a 3rd one, I was full and satisfied, and he got another 1/4! Food came out fast and I will be coming back for another tasty burger. 4 stars just because the bouncers and bartenders are hit or miss sometimes. Some are nice and some are very rude.

Yelp
The Ave is such a vibe. We came for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was packed. Poppin. In the best way possible (it's important to note that it wasn't slow service because it was packed but more so it was very cool to see a place so busy on a Wednesday full of people of all ages). They also have an outdoor seating option right on comm ave which was also full because it was a beautiful night out! Go figure. :) We got the buffalo wings, waffle fries (a must order) and the nachos. The Buffalo wings were oh so good. Not overboard spicy but also definitely still had a Buffalo wing kick to them. The waffle fries are so good here -- one of my favorite menu items. You can even order them with a cheese and bacon topping too. The nachos were HUGE and sooo filling and loaded with toppings which is a major plus. They also have promo nights on Wednesday's and Thursday's and their kitchen it's open until 1am!! That's hard to come by in Boston. Fabulous spot, friendly stuff, good vibes, good music, this list goes on.

Jay K.

Yelp
Quick. Great vibe. Amazing prices. I got the burger with tater tots and it definitely did the trick.

Tess W.

Yelp
Service was great for a Friday night. It was definitely busy but the two bartenders were attentive and recommended a beer which is now a new fav! Thanks eddy and Harrison for a great experience The $2 burger was a W as well

Julia C.

Yelp
Good food, service, and homey atmosphere. Solid pricing as well. I love it here! Burger is awesome.

Angela W.

Yelp
The Avenue was a delightful place to stop after my long flight. It felt like a favorite neighborhood pub good for a pint, some superb grub, and great company. The servers were prompt and friendly. 10/10 do recommend. I had the bird's nest burger. It reminds me of a smash burger, perfectly cooked. The over easy egg was creamy and delicious. The onion straws added that crunch and extra savory something that has me craving it again.

Dil S.

Yelp
Solid homey ball square stop now along the green line. Good cocktails, average beer list, great food. Thick Detroit style pizza with plenty of flavor.

josh e.

Yelp
The proof is in the pudding....about the extra-charge bacon BARELY being in the burger. I'd be legitimately ashamed and embarrassed to serve this. Ridiculous. ONE SLICE! Even McDonald's puts more bacon in their burgers.

Christiane M.

Yelp
very casual vibe and good food for a cheap price. veggie burger and fries was only $13 with tip so can't complain. nice place for a chill outing

June M.

Yelp
The server is really nice and helpful. However, the food is so bland, not good at all. I order an avenue burger and dozen chicken wings. Both are ashes. The drink is not good too. I order two cocktails, and both of them are not good too. The vibes are okay, nothing special.

Kassidy L.

Yelp
The service was quick and the food was exactly as promised. Unfortunately we ordered to go which caused the food to get soggy. Otherwise would try again.

Meeta A.

Yelp
I entered at around 4.45pm and to my surprise the place was almost already packed! We were here for a couple of beers. Ordered nachos and fries. Nachos were huge portion and tasted amazing, but they were badly stuck to the parchment paper. I have never seen so much guac and sour cream on a nachos platter ever in my life! Fries were great, right out of the oven, warm and crispy. Service was good. Great place to hang out and have a good time.

Catherine M.

Yelp
This is such a great neighborhood bar. Very low key with a great draft selection and relatively cheap food. There is one server there that has been there for at least the past 3 years that I have been living in the area and she is so great and makes the experience even better. They always have seasonal beers on tap and had a good selection of pumpkin beers. For food I had the chicken tenders and fries (can't go wrong with this one) and my boyfriend and I split the pretzels. We had never had them before, but they were so good. They used to have late night specials which they have not had since they reopened from Covid. I hope they bring them back at some point.

Joe G.

Yelp
Only kitchen in the area open this late! The food is good and always comes out fast. They have a few vegan/vegetarian options as well. Tap list is solid as well. This is a neighborhood bar that never gets too crowded but is never dull.

Yelp
We both enjoyed our first visit to the Avenue. We ate outside under the umbrellas in the hot sun and felt cool enough. They had a good draft beer selection. We both had burgers mine was black bean hers was a real one both excellent french fries are much better than average they were crispy and I had a vegan taco that was yummy. The beer was good too we would like to go back.

Yelp
My cheeseburger was simple, and they cook it to at least medium, but it was well executed. Fries were definitely above average. Hubby liked his veggie burger and tofu taco. The patio seating is pleasant. Our waiter was friendly. The menu is pretty basic, but we'll try to eat there again.

Jamie W.

Yelp
Amazing place for an easy bite. Wings were incredible, mexican street corn was perfect and the hamburger was very well made! 10/10 would go again!!

Lyric L.

Yelp
Such a great neighborhood bar. I come here quite often just for some cheap food and a good draft selection. I love their burgers and nachos. Food also always comes out wicked quick. Also, the vibes inside are great, with TVs everywhere and good lighting for a late night. Also.. $2 Jello shots! Highly recommend if need a good night out that won't kill the budget.

Kenneth E.

Yelp
Cool place with a lot of good beer. When I came on a Thursday night there was a ton of seating and they had some games playing on TV. Seemed to be good vibes only. Late night burgers are $2. However, in the past my friend was able to get one of their specialty burgers for half off as well. Now, they will still charge you full price. So instead make sure you get a basic burger and just pay for the extra add-ons. However, everything here is so cheap already that it's worth it. Sides range from $2 - $5. The tacos were also very good. Overall a great late night place to hit up. Besides the difficulty with the price in the burger a good place to stop in for.

Hannah F.

Yelp
FANTASTIC place for a bite to eat. Service and food were incredible and most importantly, the food was not as overpriced as most places in Boston. We went here before a concert and it was the move.

Natalie O.

Yelp
Nothing spectacular but a great cheap place to grab a drink and some food with friends. :) The outdoor seating is great.

Tianna D.

Yelp
If I ever feels for wings I always come here every chance I get when I'm visiting Allston. The Garlic Parm, Buffalo and Sweet Thai Chili are always a must to get and it's really good wings for a good price. Getting 20 wings for $16 is a no brainer. This is the cheapest deal on chicken wings I've seen in Boston so far. I've been coming here for 3 years now to get my dose of wings. My husband and I carried some friends of ours here for wings and I think we got them on board. Also I'm typing this here so that everyone knows and it's also a note to self because I always forget: - $2 The Avenue burger on Mondays - 50cent wings on Tuesdays

Christine B.

Yelp
Thankful to have been able to catch the superbowl here since all the neighboring bars were packed so early. Despite a not so friendly welcome (which I can forgive since the employees were super busy), my friend and I ended up having a satisfactory time here! Our waitress checked up on us and refilled our waters quite regularly throughout the night. And we really accomplished what we set out to do, which was to watch the game( even if the TV screen was a bit small) In terms of food and drinks, it is what you would expect from your typical bar. They have a huge selection of beers and drinks and a small menu of small plates to accompany your drinks. We ended up ordering tacos and pretzel bites to share and were surprisingly very satisfied with our food. I thought the cod taco was pretty tasty with a good balance of seasoning and freshness. I also really liked the baked pretzels which were perfectly salted and super soft in the inside. I would say for bar food, it was actually pretty good! I'm really glad I discovered this place and that it is so close to my apartment. I can foresee myself coming back here to catch some drinks or watch sporting events!

Yelp
Hey y'all!!!! I just had the "Every King needs a Crown" shot. A shot of Crown Royal and King Sue beer! It's fucking amazing when those two tastes dance across the palate something comes across the SOUL. MY MAN GUBBA (a.k.a Matt) is the creator of this tantalizing tongue tickler! Try it!!!!

Steve M.

Yelp
Everything was great will be back had 2 orders of chicken wings next time back will be trying more in tye menu that looks great

Blair W.

Yelp
Ordered the Avenue burger and sweet potato tots for take out. The food was prompt, and when I went in to place the order, the bartender was super helpful. The burger wasn't the most amazing burger I've had in my life, but it tasted exactly how I would've wanted a burger to taste and the sweet potato tots were excellent-- they were not over salted so you could still taste the slight sweetness, and since they were fresh they were nice and crunchy. I was also definitely not upset about the amount they gave me! Overall, I would recommend.

Angela G.

Yelp
My favorite bar around here! Their tacos taste so good, I always grab a bite after a late night shift because they're open and on my way back home from work. The people working their are also very kind, especially one of the bouncers. Their sweet potato tots are also super delicious. 10/10!

Bobby B.

Yelp
Avenue serves up the best $2 burgers on Monday's. Requires a purchase of a bevy (either alchy or not)... a great Monday deal! I usually pair the burger with a side order of waffle fries.

Mary R.

Yelp
I have been here MANY times and every time the food and service are 5/5. They always have affordable drinks and good food. They have vegan options and are always more than accommodating for my dairy allergy. All the apps are INCREDIBLE! The turkey burger was hot, fresh and delicious. They have a large patio with heaters, which work great. I will definitely be back!

Mimi C.

Yelp
I came here for a quick bite on a Sunday night and ordered all the tacos they offered and the Bird's Nest Burger with sweet potato tater tots. The fish taco was the best, the rest was okay. It would have been a 4.5 star in terms of food but the service at this place was frustrating. The place wasn't too packed and it seems like they had 1 waitress and a food runner. The waitress seemed to only focus on one table with 2 men. She was there constantly and for long periods of time. The other tables were trying to pay and get going with their lives but no, we had to wait for her. The food runner said he can't do it so a bunch of tables started to look at each other and peeking at the waitress with hopes that she will catch one of us so that she can finally do her job. 15 minutes later, she finally came over because the food runner went up to her basically telling her to address all the other tables that are now ready to leave.

Yelp
I used to live near here for over a decade and I recall when the current owner bought it. He made lots of upgrades, but did so a little bit at a time over a fairly long period of time. I never was a "regular" here, probably coming in 3-4 x a year the years I lived here. But I always liked the burgers which are basic, greasy but very tasty. A recent return trip had them still serving a very good burger. There also seems to be even more upgrades made and the place is looking good. As someone who remembers the place pre-Avenue I can tell you it was trash back then. It's still just a basic bar but it's clean, lots of TVs, they've made the front windows bigger to let in a bit more light (the only windows they have) and I could see it being a good place to grab a few drinks, chat with friends or watch a game if I still lived in the area.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Avenue is another Allston bar, but one that is focused more on the food than the drinks. Mondays they offer $2 avenue burgers (burger, bun, special sauce, lettuce, and tomato) - you can add toppings for an extra $1 each. They also offer this special every night after 10pm and offer 50cent wings on Tuesdays. Pretzels are great, served with a cheese sauce and a honey mustard for dipping. Comes with 4 small soft pretzels, hot out of the oven and salty. Burgers are great, I added avocado and grilled onions to mine. They do not come with sides (even the regular ones, but they're cheap). You can add a side of fries for $2 but I opt for the sweet potato tots for $3 (or the appetizer size for $5) - they are delicious. Menu is relatively small, so come for the burgers (or turkey burger, grilled chicken sandwich, veggie burger) and the tots. They also have tacos on the menu, but I see myself ordering another burger/turkey burger when I return.

Bailee P.

Yelp
They have a really good draft list here. We stopped in to grab a beer before going to the BU hockey game. It wasn't welcoming at all. The first bartender who was serving us was cold and grumpy. The second guy was a little better.

Marcus B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and theme! Loved the burger I got was looking for something quick and easy this is the spot! Burger was perfectly cooked and first time having one on an English Muffin (the breakfast burger) highly recommend. Beer choices not bad, the drafts are so fresh off tap, yum!

Dave V.

Yelp
This time we went to get iced coffee ($1) and donuts ($3). Both were a lot better than we were expecting. The iced coffee was stronger than anticipated and it was good value for what it was. The donut was fresh and warm. Its crispy and sugary exterior and warm, soft exterior made it a real treat to eat in the afternoon.

Joseph L.

Yelp
Hot local tip: $2 Avenue Burgers on Mondays after 10pm. 50 cent chicken wings on Tuesdays. Their burgers aren't large, but they're juicy and sandwiched between a light, toasted sesame bun. And they're only $2!! The employees are really nice and aren't a stickler on time, so they even gave us a break around 9:30PM and let us have the burgers for 2 bucks. Also their servings of waffle fries are large enough to feed two people, and they're delightfully crispy. Come check this place out on Monday or Tuesday, you won't be disappointed!

Angel B.

Yelp
Meg the bartender, awesome service, funny, and kind of an all around bad ass Definitely makes you feel like you at home with your derelict family Grab a drink and feel the love flow

Claudia F.

Yelp
This place is trash. Heard the male bartender with the pony tail talking about how their customers piss him off. Kept yelling about how stupid customers are for calling asking about reservations. The dude passionate as hell about yelling at me for not wearing a mask after being walked to my table( he saw me walking down the street in my mask, and in the "lobby", but took it off as we walked to table) seems to be completely uneducated about the fact that a lot of bars, restaurants and even retail spots are doing reservation seating only. Tip: if you don't like Nickelback video vibes & corny people, avoid this place.

Martha H.

Yelp
The Avenue is a great little place. Cheap burgers, good cocktails, reasonably priced beers, and yummy appetizers. Service leaves something to be desired ...but I think a lot of times the servers may be assigned to too many tables, so it's definitely not their fault. I LOVE their soft pretzels... like I crave them at very random times and every time I have a hankering for carbs the soft pretzels are exactly what I want. I usually am a total fanatic for cheese sauce, but the mustard dipping sauce is so good I wish I could bottle it. Everything else is good too, but the soft pretzels and cheeseburgers are what keep me coming back.

Catie C.

Yelp
For wing night, this is great stop for 50 cent wings. With a few flavors to choose from, you can order by the piece to fill your tray on Tuesdays. Don't forget the sweet potato tater tots to go along with the wings. They have the best! With the tots and wings.. This dive bar has a decent collection of rotating local craft beer.

Jaime S.

Yelp
I ordered a carne asada taco, the turkey burger and a side of sweet potato tots for takeout. I didn't notice until after I had picked up the food and gotten home that they had forgot to pack the taco. I was too hungry to walk back, so I decided to just dig in to the rest of my order. The turkey burger was pretty good, not super huge and also not anything super amazing. The patty was a bit burnt around the outer edges. The tots could've been a bit crispier and I actually just got sick of the taste after a while, but I don't think that's necessarily because of the way they cooked it, I just don't think sweet potato is really my thing. 2 stars because I was disappointed that my taco was forgotten.

Kim M.

Yelp
Quite literally a hidden gem. The Avenue looks like a hole in the wall if you pass it on the sidewalk. In fact it looks like a dilapidated diner, more than it does a bar, but it's going through a facelift right now (STILL OPEN THOUGH!). Cheap bites and affordable drinks. My friend and I grabbed dinner and 2-3 drinks apiece for only $25. Service is great and the interior does not match the exterior. Really clean, surprisingly spacious, tables a plenty and a nice bar too. The food is actually really good too. Highly recommend wings and tacos. If you're a fan of sweet potatoes, they have delicious crispy sweet potato tots with maple bacon ketchup! I come here for quick bites, cheap pregame, or a low key night (which due to the affordability of drinks can actually end up a bit rowdy...oops!). Glad to have found this Allston gem right now the street from where I live.

Ji C.

Yelp
The employees are awesome! Extremely accommodating and even with a mask o can tell they have a smile behind there. I know that I have dietary restrictions but I had the breakfast burger and the fried egg was wayyyyy overcooked. Other than that all great!!! Thank you

Joseph B.

Yelp
The Avenue is probably the best bar in Allston, cheap food, fun vibe, Allston scene. Before the shutdown this was the place for a burger and a beer. Best beer selection, and really a great burger. The patio for the summer was a great addition, and I love the staff they are fun. I go twice a week for dinner or takeout. Problem: Ijust feel the hairy guy in a tank top serving me food with his chest hair exposed is just too much. It's a 5 star but my last three times this has been overwhelmingly disgusting. He leans over the table with his chest in my face serving food to everyone. Other then this piece of professionalism the place is great. But maybe Allston just is grunge 2.0. Maybe with winter here he will cover up. It's 2020, dress like it.

Ashley N.

Yelp
Avenue literally never disappoints. I often go with my friends after 10PM for there $2 burger deal for a well deserved study break. They have the deal all day on Mondays, I believe, but we usually haven't studied enough to need a break until Thursdays LOL. The times I've been, they were busy but not so much so that we couldn't get a table for the 4-5 of us. There's plenty of room on the front floor and in the back hall for people to sit at a table and there are standing tables across from the bar area. Environment & Accessibility; the entrance is a paved path off the main sidewalk leading up to a vestibule made up of heavier glass doors with one step (3-5 inches) to get into the restaurant after the second door. Not sure if there's a ramp. The vibe is pretty casual, it can get kind of loud. I like to sit in the back section, it's just a little more private and easier to hear my friends when we're chatting. The TV is also nice and close to see. Service; everyone's usually very nice! I've never had an issue with a server. They remember who we are sometimes and bring me lots of ketchup, hehe. Food comes fast and they'll check up on you consistently. Bill has to be paid by one person, we just Venmo each other afterwards. Food; the burger is super delicious. Meat is the right ratio of juicy with a hint of crunch from the grill and seasoned well, buns are fluffy, lettuce, tomato and pickles are good I usually add ketchup because I'm an addict but definitely worth the $2.00. You can add cheese ($1) or an egg ($1) or bacon ($1), I usually get mine as is and it's still super delicious. In order to get the deal, you need to buy a drink. They have your regular assortment of pop & a very extensive list of beers, cocktails, ciders, etc. I don't drink alcohol very much so I usually get a ginger beer ($4) which kind of tastes like ginger tea! The wings are okay, I didn't like the sauce we got but I might try it again another time... maybe. The waffle fries are the BOMB!!! So crispy and crunchy, it's worth the $3.50. They also have sea sated fries which were okay, and I've tried the sweet potato tots too which were also good - neither of them compare to the waffle fries, though. Maybe that's just my crunchy fries bias. Overall: Loved it! Will go back over and over again!

Nicole T.

Yelp
Great prices, great food. Amazing beer selection. Would recommend waffle cheese fries, street corn, & wings. Service is slow at times but overall great place for lunch, dinner, or late night. New hours: everyday 11am-2am

Chelsea C.

Yelp
This place is a whole in the wall, my friends. This place has a great selection of beers and they have a lot of specials depending on the day! Pro tip, everyday after 10PM, burgers are $2 (for just the patty and bun and lettuce) and anything else you want to add (egg, cheese, bacon, etc.) are $1 - $2 additional which is NOT bad. Mondays all DAY burgers are $2. Tuesdays are $0.50 wings, however in order to get the deal you need to order a beer or cider. Still a deal in my opinion. In terms of flavors, they have Thai Chili, Honey Mustard, Garlic Parmesan, and Teriyaki. My 2 favorites are Thai Chili and Garlic Parm. The wings are hearty! And sides are always $2 - $3. They have pasta salad, fries, waffle fries, and sweet potato tater tots. Oh and this place is open until 2AM, everyday. This place is legitimately down the block from my restaurant and I'm so happy to live where I do. Definitely check this place out if you're around!

James D.

Yelp
If you're in Allston, there isn't a better balance of hand for buck and quality of food. A gem.
