Great food, not great service
I usually never write reviews, but tonight i felt i had to. We were in the mood for smoked meat and BBQ and from previous experience we decided to come here. The food was delicious and our server started out friendly but then turned around very fast. We arrived around 7 and the restaurant closes at 8! I think we were her only table, but we had an hour before the kitchen was closing and we already kinda knew what we wanted. We ordered an app and two entres. The app came, it was delicious but the server was nowhere to be found to check on us, i was like maybe she's doing sidework or something and didn't think much of it. The entrees came, both delicious as well! We were missing the coleslaw on the briscet dish, but again, the server was nowhere to be found. She never checked how everything was, at all! All of the sudden around 7:45 she was aggressively sweeping the booths behind us 🤷♂️. She came few minutes later to ask if we need boxes, but not ask me if i want one more drink even tho the restaurant is open till 8 and there were two people at the bar as well, but she asked my bf if he is done with his half full margarita so she can grab the glass 🤷♂️. It was not even 8 when we ordered dessert and she acted like she was offended by that as well! Anyway, we paid our bill and on the way out i think the owner said thanks for choosing us, which i am not sure we will again.
I work in the industry as well and have never treated and rushed my tables like that. I get it, it's not summer yet, slow nights still and we all want to go home early. But that doesn't mean you need to rush your tables out if the door when they have't been there even for 40 minutes and the restaurant is still open. We didn't show up 10 minutes before closing, we were there an hour before that! If you want to be in the service industry, you should be able to provide service to your customers, especially when you excpect a tip for that as well(which we still did).
Anyway, great food, but the server needs to be friendlier as well.
