Seven Breakfast Burritos to Demolish in the Twin Cities
"Build a dream breakfast burrito here: eggs, cheese, and potatoes covered they give you the option of any two additional ingredients. A humble suggestion to start with the avocado and chorizo." - Eater Staff
"If you are a sucker for a seasonal berry-laden pancake at twilight and a malt to wash it down, this is the place for you. Not only does the Bad Waitress offer some updated American favorites, but it has a full espresso and coffee bar offering for those that are on the go. The decor is bright, pulpy, and energetic -- with superhero tags on every table and vintage movie posters adorning the walls. There is a jukebox in the center of the dining room where you can plug and play your favorite 80s ballads. Just remember that here, you order at the register, not at the table. The Bad Waitress sources organic and local ingredients wherever possible, and is happy to celebrate where your food comes from, so you can order happy, knowing both your burger and your faux-sloppy-joe are coming from a good place." - Light Grey Art Lab

"On a personal basis, I was really sad to see Bad Waitress shut its doors for good. My wife and our son used to go on 'breakfast dates' there when he was four or five years old, and he lived for their French toast. Fond fond memories." - Eater Staff

"Bad Waitress will serve three minty desserts in March: a Shamrock Shake with whipped cream and green sprinkles, a chocolate Andes mint muffin, and a mint marshmallow pie with Oreo cookie crust." - Alicia Banaszewski
Had a great dinner here. Heard some bad reviews from some of our friends but wanted to see for ourselves.
Walked in on a Thursday night and got a table right away. Got drinks very quickly too. My old fashioned was super strong and good. Wife ordered the bees knees and she liked it as well.
Ordered our food and it did take longer than expected to get it. My wife ordered the bad burger and it was okay, nothing to write home about. I ordered the trash browns and they were amazing!
Garrett was a great bartender/server!

Honestly this is one of the best tasting breakfasts I’ve had in YEARS. The eggs are outstanding - the staff is super helpful and friendly - and the restaurant is SUPER CLEAN.
Back again today for lunch - their fries are OUTSTANDING. Turkey Sandwich was solid too - outdoor seating is also clutch!

For starters the Ruben sandwich was not made with corned beef as a traditional Ruben sandwich would be. The potatoes tasted as if they had been cooked in old oil. I did however enjoy the blueberry pancake. It was as big as a plate and filled with delicious blueberries. The servers were very polite and the place has a interesting theme that tourist seem to enjoy. The food was mediocre at best for a first time visit. Not sure if I will visit again.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but unfortunately this was bad. We needed a quick meal and this was close so we tried it. My BLAT (bacon lettuce avocado tomato) was sadly just a BLT with zero avocado. The toast was burnt and stale, and the bacon was hard. My fruit bowl had unripened hard pineapple.
My partners burger was good, and the service was friendly. That’s the only reason these review got two stars.
It’s also a “self serve” restaurant so you’ll have to order yourself and they’ll bring your food.
I hope I caught them in a bad day, but I won’t be returning.

They have a unique approach to ordering, wherein you scan a QR code at your table and place your order through the associated link, and the food gets delivered to you as it's rest. It definitely reduced the whole "they're waiting for me to make a decision" anxiety that other places have, and frees up the staff to be productive in other ways. The food was also solid-- good, classic diner fare that came out nice and hot.

Food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed. You sit down wherever you want, look over the menu and then you fill out your order on the tablet is paper on each table. Then walk to the register to pay, and just wait for the amazing food to hit your table. Can't go wrong with anything you order here.

Visiting the restaurant during covid, it was a little weird because there was no (bad) waitress to take your order 🥲😝 However, like before...the food was delicious. We ordered French toast with strawberries and blueberries, chicken and waffles, and milk shakes! Definitely love coming to the restaurant for some awesome breakfast!

Ordered the trash browns and a latte through Doordash and both arrived fairly quickly, warm and tasted great! No issues! The trash browns are a bit on the pricey side but I nonetheless really enjoyed every aspect from the eggs to the buttered english muffins to the sautéed veggies. They do a quality job here and this was a great first impression of the place. I hope to dine in someday.
