This place was awesome. My husband and I went here after getting poké around the corner and I wasn’t even planning on getting one but decided I’d do it for a few bites. Spoiler alert: I finished the whole sandwich myself 😂 The cookies are super fresh and doughy - you’re also given the option to heat up your ice cream sandwich - DO IT! My hubby is boring so he got the chocolate chip cookies with French vanilla ice cream. I got the gooey butter cookies with the butter brittle cake ice cream. I also got mine drenched in caramel sauce. After you choose your cookies (which you can mix and match) you choose the ice cream which they allow samples that totally helped me make the yummiest sandwich! Then comes the extra toppings and the heating option. I would actually skip out on the caramel for next time or ask for a “light” serving of it but honestly - the sandwiches were unreal. The two workers - young man and woman - were super patient with us, friendly and helpful! Overall, a great treat and totally worth the visit!! There’s a nice green courtyard out front with tables and Adirondack chairs so if inside isn’t comfy enough you can opt for dining outside! Check this place out :)

I was excited to try The Baked Bear after seeing the menu online, and they did not disappoint! The cookies I tried were all excellent, and the ice cream was yasty, too. These combined for some fantastic ice cream sandwiches. They were so good, during my visit to Austin I walked the 40-minute round trip on two separate days to have them!

Easy to say this is my wife and I’s favorite place in Austin for desert. You get to customize your own ice cream sandwich and they never miss—always on point and are so good. I’ve brought every person that has ever visited me in Austin to this place. There is no seating inside but there is a really cool turf area outside that is a whole vibe! Great for a family picnic, date, or taking your dog too!

The cookies and ice cream here are so delicious! My favorite cookies were the oogey butter cake and cinnamon toast one (cookie of the month). I also tried their ube cookie which is very authentic to ube taste (cookie of the month). My favorite ice cream is their blackberry crumble and almond brittle. I also asked for my cookie sandwich ice cream to be heated up too. They are huge so share with another person. They also do one hour validation for the garages.

This is definitely a solid place for dessert if you’re in the area. They have a decent variety of ice cream flavors from sweeter things to more fruit flavors. The cookies are soft and are just a pretty good cookie overall. The employees were nice and outgoing too. I’m no dessert connoisseur, but I wouldn’t say it was anything crazy. I’m also someone who isn’t a huge fan of very sweet desserts and prefer less sugary tastes, and this place definitely falls under the very sweet dessert category, so just keep that in mind. Still a very good place, however, and would probably go back for another small dessert.

Best cookies since being in Texas! The ice cream was also supper yummy and creamy. Great size portion and staff super helpful and friendly! Picked up some day old cookies too for bargain price, so can freeze them and enjoy them over the summer! Recommend the cookie of the month- lemon drizzle 🤤

Please don’t go here if you are African American. The workers will call the rental cop on you when you request fresh cookies because all the Gooey Butter Cake cookies were burnt. When asked if they could make fresh ones they refused stating they can’t make any more and if I needed some I would have to place an online order. I needed 12 they informed me they can only sell 6 cookies. Then when I asked for the corporate number they young lady stated they don’t have a corporate number and when asked to write their information down her and the young guy were laughing like it was funny to them. So as I sat down to look for the corporate number they were calling the rental cop. I am pretty sure if I was white this wouldn’t have occurred. Anyhow the rental cop processed to tell me to leave and I kindly told him no because I wasn’t stirring up any drama just looking for a number to place my complaint. Then he started acting like top flight security by telling me my rights and that he’s recording me. He told me he was calling the cops and I told him I didn’t care because I didn’t do anything wrong. Listen this is the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life just to purchase some cookies. I will never go back to this place and will never refer anyone to this location. I remember the earlier days at this location the customer service was great. Now it has gone way down hill. Don’t go here oh yeah if you don’t believe me about the rental cop I’ll show you. BEWARE

Extremely disappointed in the ice cream! My husband and I split a cookie sandwich which was 2 chocolate chip cookies and old fashioned vanilla ice cream warmed. It was definitely not warmed- maybe the press wasn’t working or they don’t heat them very long but it wasn’t warm as I was expecting. The cookies were decent but nothing special. It was the ice cream that really has made me decide I will never be back. The old fashioned vanilla was on the softer side- more like a custard or soft serve- but I haven’t had a more fake tasting ice cream. I love all kinds of ice cream- even when it’s half decent I still eat it all- this one I refused to take another bite. I simply ate one of the cookies and was done. Maybe it was the flavor we chose and should have done a faster first but vanilla is such a classic flavor it really shouldn’t taste the way it did. The store itself was nice with cute decor, an easy to understand menu and displayed all of the cookies and toppings. The staff were also friendly and working hard to keep the line moving. The toilet needed to be fixed as you had to reach your hand inside to pull the cord. As I said above due to the ice cream I will not be returning.

Wow!!! Super delicious, better than tiffs treats and the similar brands in my opinion. It's a bit pricey like all the rest but the $10.50 dozen was a great deal on DoorDash and I'd 100% order again. The blueberry crumble ice cream was also out of this world. Hit this place up, it's probably even better in person.

The Baked Bear is meant for children and children at heart. Here, you can order brownies, cookies, ice creams, and even better, cookies AND ice cream together!! The Baked Bear is every diabetic's worst nightmare, 0/10 would not recommend if you have no self control on desserts either. The Baked Bear offers over a dozen baked from scratch original-recipe cookies and ice cream flavors, allowing patrons to create whatever concoction their heart desires-- and don't forget the toppings. DOWNSIDE: - No indoor seating and minimal seating outdoors - No water provided - Also, children sizes should be an option, as one scoop was still too much for me...

The ice cream was delicious, the cookies were good as well. Only thing I can say I had the gluten free cookie and it had good taste but was hard but the ice cream helps with that. The Staff friendly, appreciative, and quick. There was a small line when we got there which looks big because it's small location.

The amount of cookie/ice cream is great for the price. One serving could be shared with two people but it's more fun to pick out your own cookie , brownie, and ice cream. The service was great everyone was nice.

I have been to the Austin baked bear and the Nashville one, this ice cream sandwich is to dream about. Two tantalizing cookies, ice cream (vegan option too), and tons of awesome toppings. What is not to love. There were no baked, stir fried, or sautéed bears--really a downer on that part.

If you're looking for an indulgent treat look no further! The baked bear checks so many boxes for a fellow sweet tooth. Ice cream, cookies, and even brownies! When you first walk in there is music playing, which is very inviting, the place is clean, smells great, and I love the large photo wall in the back. I ordered two sandwiches: Nutella cookies with churro ice cream and a chocolate ice cream with a sprinkle cookie and a butter cake cookie. I don't have one complaint. The cookies were equally soft and crunchy- I was worried they would get soggy with the ice cream, but they held up perfectly. The ice cream was rich and delicious. You can choose to add extra toppings, like M&Ms, Oreos, chocolate drizzle but that was a bit over-the-top for us. It's a bit pricey but the size and quality of ice cream sandwich makes up for it- I feel it's comparable to most cookie and/or ice cream establishments.

There is something about two soft cookies and a huge scoop of ice cream that just makes everything better. Coming to Baked Bear always brings back great memories as they first opened up in San Diego when I was living there years ago. When you walk in, you are instantly smacked in the face with the magnificent smell of fresh made cookies and other desserts which are nicely displayed at the front of the store. But not only do they have fantastic cookies, the ice cream is simply melt worthy. It definitely runs on the creamier side, but they have flavors for every type of craving. The only bad thing about this place is that you walk in and have to legitimately think what kind of combo you want to make because everything just sounds so good. My wife and I always share one cooking sandwich is ends up being more than enough for a post dinner treat. You can't go wrong with anything here, just enjoy.

Came here on a date and we thought it was pretty good. I'm lactose intolerant so I got the vegan chocolate chip since it was the only lactose free option they had. It was ok, just wish they had more flavors!! I got Oreos on the top so that made it taste a lot better!! My bf got an ice cream sandwich and he really liked it!! Definitely a cool concept getting it warmed!! We also loved the outdoor area it's so pretty to sit out on!!

Really friendly service with samples of their ice cream. We got the ice cream sandwich which was a good portion. You can choose two different cookies for the top and bottom. We got the Nutella one and a chocolate chip one. I got it hot pressed I think, but the cookies didn't seem warm. They validate parking in the garage.

Favorite vegan/gluten-free dessert in Austin, hands down! Surprised I haven't reviewed them yet, as I've been a fan of their cookie sandwiches for a few years now. Their GF cookie sandwich is rich, indulgent, sweet and really hits the spot for when you're wanting to treat yourself to going crazy on a 1200 calorie dessert. Their GF options are either classic chocolate chip or brownie cookies, but I generally stick with the classic. Writing this review has me putting this place back on my radar for definitely visiting in the next week.

Highly recommend the bottom brownie and top Nutella chocolate chip cookie and get it warmed! Parking: Garage and they validate!

Baked bear is great. I went to the first one in San Diego about 2 years after and now I am glad to see that they expanded to Austin and other places in the U.S. I love their cookies and ice cream all together into a magnificent ice cream sandwich. I had a combo which is the brownie and a cookie, specifically I had the Cookie of the month the pistachio, walnut, chocolate chunks. With the Caramel pretzel ice cream. Line moves pretty fast. Now I do remember the cookies being a little big bigger, but I fine with the resize, because those sandwiches are heavy. If you can share great, if not, this will be your whole meal. Now the ambiance is more of like a line out the door where you come in, order and leave. Not much space to sit inside, but there is cute tables outside.

The logo just makes you want to come check out this ice cream shop. It's so damn cute! I came in solely for the ice cream and not the cookies. I ordered the Mud Pie which consisted of coffee, brownies and fudge along with the Bear Batter which was a cake batter bass with sprinkles and brownies. The two meshed well. I wish there was more brownie throughout but it still hit the spot nonetheless.

Love the option to create your own ice cream sandwich with two different cookies and a multitude of ice cream flavors and toppings! The cookies are homemade and great! Make sure to do the hot press option for your cookies if getting ice cream in the middle! The service was excellent and I love the different cookies of the month!

Came here with a group of friends today for ice cream sandwiches. Unreal good and the ladies behind the counter were so friendly and bubbly. Vegan/GF cookie sandwich - this sandwich is a standard chocolate chip cookie and chocolate chip ice cream! I was surprised at how chewy (and not crumbly) the cookie was for being both gluten free and vegan. Really good flavor combo. The vegan ice cream was so creamy and not icy at all. Bear Batter ice cream - one friend got a scoop in a cup and another got it on a sandwich with the confetti cookies. They raved about how moist the cookies were. Also, the ice cream has brownies mixed in which was a twist. Would definitely return and recommend for anyone in the area - amazing sweets spot for those with dietary restrictions. The sandwiches are HUGE for $8. 10/10!

I tried the cookie of the month (molten lava cake cookie) with a scoop of the blackberry crumble ice cream and it was so good! I asked for the cookie to be warmed up and the gooeyness of the cookie and the creaminess of the ice cream was the perfect combination! It was super sweet so it was a great treat to share as well! The indoor area is small but there is a nice outside grassy area and there is a parking garage available.

Love this place so much! Fresh cookies and fresh homemade ice cream that you cannot leave Austin without trying! The cookies were very soft and packed with flavor and the ice cream was outstanding as-well. Don't forget to make sure you order the infamous cookie sandwhich!

We ate dessert here and loved it! They let you make your own ice cream cookie sandwich with two different cookies (I did funfetti for one, then cookies & cream as the other cookie) which was pretty cool. A cookie & brownie ice cream sandwich is another option as well. As for the dessert, it tasted delicious!! We would definitely come back here again.

This is a must after dinner when you're around Seaholm. This is such a cute cookie sandwich ice cream shop! You can pick two cookies for a sandwich which I liked because they had so many options and I want them all! I loved the cookies and cream cookie.

Great spot for a late night treat! The service was fast and very kind. We ordered an ice cream sandwich to go and it was delicious. They have so many different flavor options we will be back to try more! They don't have a lot of indoor seats and they do accept Apple Pay.

Aiden is amazing! Uber Eats cancelled our order after 45 mins of waiting and he tried everything he could to get our order to us. I feel like he really understood our pain lol. In the end Uber Eats just wouldn't work but we still appreciated Aiden's dedication in trying to get us our cookies!!

It was delicious but very very sweet, after ordering my custom ice cream sandwich, I learned that something simple is best. A good experience to try a new type of desert nonetheless. There was a long line that the staff served quickly.

This was recommended to us from my sister, so we wanted to give it a try. And we're suckers for dessert. The location is within a little apartment complex setup with surrounding restaurants and a spot for dogs to hang out in the center, which was a nice environment. We made it in just before a large amount of customers came in, score! The staff were very patient with us, as we have not been before and were asking some questions about the setup and sampled a few ice cream flavors. We both went with the ice cream sandwich--I used a funfetti and gooey butter cookie with the bear tracks ice cream in the center, where my husband had the brownie and gooey butter cookie with brickle ice cream in the center. They were soooo good! The cookies didn't become rocks from the ice cream and they were super tasty. They give you a large amount of ice cream, which we had to use spoons to eat it but it was very generous and we enjoyed every single bite. We were hoping to go back again another night during our visit, but it didn't work out. Highly recommend people to try this place! You can also just get ice cream or cookies alone. But if you're an ice cream sandwich kinda person, this is awesome!

Vegan options, cookie/ brownie base with premium ice cream flavors squished in the middle... a modern-day ice cream sammy from heaven! The line was a bit long, but it moved pretty quickly. Cookies of the month plus about 10 other choices for your cookie-halves, and then you get to pick your icy creamy concoction to stick it all together... you can do 2 different cookies, or the same one twice... or get a bear bowl (brownie or cookie in mini pie tin) with ice cream & a cookie on top...! Small-time shop with big ideas... and great execution! Also, clean bathrooms & validated parking in the attached retail parking garage by the power plant. NICE!

One of our favorite ice cream shops in Austin! Great flavors and they have freshly baked cookies for sandwiches or to add to your cup of ice cream. The blueberry muffin cookie is delish!

My friend and I visited The Baked Bear two weeks ago to satisfy our sweet tooth's. I'm so glad there's a location in Austin now, it's just what we needed. We both have gluten and dairy intolerances and this place has options to accommodate individuals with food allergies like us. We both ordered ice cream sandwiches with gluten free chocolate chip cookies and vegan ice cream. They don't skimp on portion size and we got served a very generous amount of ice cream. My only take away is that I wish they had more variety of gluten free and dairy free options but I'll take what I can get. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family who are looking for a place to get sweet treats.

Tried the baked bear and was super underwhelmed with the ice cream, I know it has to be a thicker mix to work with cookies but there was hardly any mix ins so it just felt like hard vanilla in a cup. The cookies (which we had on the side, not in the sandwich) were pretty good though. The butter cake cookie was good, not great. The carrot cake was delicious though. And service was good! Overall, wouldn't be back for ice cream though.

The ice cream was delicious we got the bear bowl cookie could have be a little more gooey but was delicious, service was fantastic, atmosphere is nice has nice area to hang outside relax and hangout.

You gotta bring your appetite when you come here. The cookie sandwiches are huge. I think .75 cent for extra toppings is a bit much but honestly you probably shouldn't need extra toppings anyways, the cookie sandwich is more than enough. I almost felt guilty eating the thing cuz it feels like future diabetes haha. But the ice cream quality was delicious and the cookies were tasty. It made for a great sandwich. When I ordered the whip cream topping I thought they'd put it in between the cookies and ice cream but they topped it off on the top of the cookie. Sugar overload lol. But you only live once I guess. This is a place I'll have but in moderation lol

You can choose to have your cookie warmed, but proceed with caution because rapid melting is imminent. The whole process is very quick and efficient from start to finish; truly instant gratification. Portions are generous, so make sure you leave room for dessert!

There was no line and the employees were friendly and helpful! You can completely customize your treat and can choose between a variety of freshly made cookies and ice cream. This was a great spot to meet friends because there is a turf courtyard right outside, with plenty of space to bring kids or walk your dog. While this treat was expensive, I think around $8, I will say that the portions were huge! This treat was essentially two cookies, and two scoops of ice cream and I couldn't even finish it.

Have been to this chain before (they have multiple locations around the country) and it was a good ice cream sandwhich. Plenty of cookie and ice cream options.

Conceptually, this is great but the execution fell short of expectations of the four person party that visited the establishment. The cookies were not warm even after being "warm pressed". The ice cream lacked flavor and feel short to places like Amy's. The establishment is very nice and clean. The staff was neutral. Not really friendly but more of a service line approach. I didn't get the value I was seeking.

Im just judging from cookie. Buttercake is so good. Chocolate chip too. The molten choc is good but very rich. The snickerdoodle was just ok. Honestly i could put the buttercake in a pipe and smoke it. Its soo good. Ive tried all the cookie downtown and these get the top spot imo

SO. GOOD. They give a lot, so after a while though, it does feel like it's too much, but the cookies and ice cream are DELICIOUS. Be sure you get a flavor you won't be getting sick of eating a lot!!! It's amazing how they managed to warm the cookies while not melting the ice cream. I would come again and maybe get mint chocolate chip ice cream with butter cookie next time!

It would be nice if they listed what they are out of on the board so you don't stand in line for 40 minutes and then order something for them to just tell you they are out of it.

Best ice cream cookie sandwiches I've ever had! The cookies were soft and delicious, the ice cream was yummy and a good consistency, and the staff was helpful in giving us directions. We parked in the garage below, and the Baked Bear actually will validate parking so we had no problems getting there. We arrived around 9:30pm on a Monday and there were still cookies and happy customers. The actual shop is up the elevator, and around the corner to the right (was a little hard to see without a light-up sign like some of the surrounding shops but we found it). Service was quick and we were very satisfied with our sandwiches. My sandwich stayed in one piece pretty darn well until the very end, but my boyfriend's sandwich was a little more melty (not in a bad way!) WAY WAY better than a tollhouse frozen cookie - these were soft but not too soft and the number of options for cookies/ice cream/toppings was great! I don't typically like "blue things" but I LOVED the blue cookie as well as the blue ice cream. Will be back!

Great service and ambiance! Great ice cream too. I had the bear bowl with mud pie and heath bar!! It was delicious!!! Would definitely recommend to friends and family!!!
