The Baked Bear is one of my all-time favorite spots. I come here multiple times every time I'm in town on vacation, and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The ice cream sandwiches are incredible, and the cookies are always fresh and delicious.
That said, I was disappointed with the service I received today from an employee named Gwen. When I walked up to the counter, I mentioned I would be ordering two sandwiches, and she cut me off with, "One order at a time," in a noticeably rude tone. I let it go and continued ordering, but things stayed rocky. She didn't ask if I wanted my sandwich heated, only if it was to go, so when it came out not heated, I politely asked if it could be warmed up. Again, she responded with attitude, even though I genuinely didn't know that "to go" meant it wouldn't be warmed.
Later, when I asked for three cookies after my second sandwich came out, she told me I was "supposed to order that up there" and pointed back to where I had originally placed my order. I asked if she wanted me to get back in line, and instead of helping me in the moment, she replied, "Well, for future reference," with more attitude. This was confusing since she only let me order one thing at a time in the first place.
I'll absolutely keep coming back to The Baked Bear because the desserts are amazing, but I really hope the customer service matches the quality of the food next time.
