Outside, though, two sprawling hotels cut through the illusion of unobstructed lakefront property (a case where the Instagram doesn't match the IRL scene).

The good stuff: Tell us about your room.With only four rooms in the whole property, Baker House is an exclusively luxe experience. The nationally registered historic property was renovated in 2011, and each room boasts a different personality, with colorful wallpaper, luxe furnishings, and grand textiles. Overlooking Lake Geneva, the Provence room features opulent blue toile window treatments, 1920s Art Deco accent furniture, and a hand-carved working wood fireplace. A spa bathroom with heated floors, a deep tub, and steam shower provides another getaway, while exclusive access to the grounds' English garden allows guests to reimagine yesteryear.
We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Down and memory pillows are available, and the custom-made king-sized beds are a continent in their own right, with natural fiber linens for maximum luxury.
How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Oh, the Gilded Age touches are enough to make a museum curator salivate—like 12 rare Gibson Girl lithographs, antique chandeliers and sconces, and even 1880s carved scrimshaw.
Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Each bathroom is an escape in itself, from a gilt wood Victrola-turned-sink and vintage tiles, to modern era heated floors, steam showers, and jacuzzi jets.
