The Baker’s Son Review - Medical Center - Houston - The Infatuation

"The Filipino bakery The Baker’s Son originated in Jacksonville, FL and the first Houston location is right here in the Medical Center. The fresh baked goods here are mostly sold in multiples, but there are some individual treats for sale at the counter. After shopping around and filling your basket with fresh pandesal, ensaymadas topped with parmesan cheese, and ube-flavored everything, grab a passion fruit calamansi for a citrusy refreshment loaded with fresh fruit and herbs. The Baker’s Son is open daily until 8pm, and it’s perfect for healthcare workers (or anyone, really) in the mood for a sweet treat after the sun sets. There aren’t any seats in this action-packed bakery, but biting into a pan de dulce filled with ube tastes delicious from the driver’s seat." - Gianni Greene

Google
A bakery with a wide variety and delicious flavors. I loved everything I tried. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy something different and high-quality.

Google
For a homesick Filipino like me who drove 5 hours to get here I'd say the drive is worth it. They've got everything you've missed from back home. I bought kutsinta, sapin sapin, ensaymada, ube rolls, cheese rolls, kabayan ube, they also have mainit init pa na bilo-bilo, siopao, at kapeng barako. This was after lunch at Jolibee just across the bakery. My belly is full and had plenty pasalubong for my family. Sarap ng kapeng barako I partnered with kabayan ube. They also have pandesal and Spanish bread but ill have to get them on my way home na. The smell of freshly baked bread and brewed coffee are the best. Pagpasok mo , you'll smell it, super kakatakam specially if you're not from the area and food Luke this are scarce or none from where you came from like me, im sure you will love their bakery too. The girl at the registry is from Isabela and it sure feel like nasa panaderya ka lang sa isang kanto sa Manila. Very homy ang feeling. They also have turon, halo-halo, all kinds of ube goodness and many more.

Google
I've seen a few positive reviews about this place, so I had to check it out for myself. I walked in, and it smelled SO good!! Everything was baked fresh. The beef empanadas were incredible!! I got a few things to try, so I'm really excited about that and to introduce my kids to some new flavors. They, too, loved everything we tried this visit. The lattes were also really good, and the staff was super friendly and willing to explain different foods to me as im not familiar with the cultural ingredients. I will definitely be back....... a lot.... lol...

Google
I recently visited my sister in Jacksonville, and she immediately recommended this amazing place. We went on a Sunday, and the line was out the door! But it was totally worth the wait to see all the delicious treats they had. I couldn’t resist trying the original ube ensaymada, and it was absolutely incredible! We went back the next day, Monday, and guess what? There was no line at all! I needed to grab some goodies for pasalubong, so I bought cheese bread, Spanish bread, more ube ensaymada, and three different kinds of hopia. You can smell the bread baking, and it instantly reminds me of home in the Philippines. They also have a variety of kakanins and other delicious Filipino sweet treats. The staff is always smiling and super friendly, making the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty and memorable treat!

Google
Just walking up to this place smells heavenly. Inside, there are so many options to choose from. All kinds of different food options with ube, which is a favorite of mine. I got the halo halo, and this being my first time trying it, I was not disappointed. I will most likely come back and get it again

Google
Pilipino carb heaven! There was this ube roll that was moist and fluffy, kutsinta, sapin-sapin, putobongbong, ube pastillas, 😋 the palitaw! Dubai choco croissant Don’t have the photos of some of items. Halo-halo was ok. The beef emapanada was ok, bread part was dry and over powering the filling. 4⭐️ coz Small store, not all their itmes were out when I went early, it was really difficult trying to look at what to buy when there more than 8-10 people in there.

Florida Lucero

Google
By far is the best Filipino Bakery around Jax. Glad they are 40mins away from me or else ill be here everyday. My son’s favorite is the ube milky cheese bread. The Halo-halo here is way better than any other place Ive tried. I rarely visit because rarely on this side of town but i was surprised with so much goodies they offer now, they even have kakanin. Only thing is wish they have bigger store space, when there are 4-5 people inside it’s all crowded already.

Google
Sunday halo halo run at The Baker’s Son! Stacks of masarap masarap Filipino pastries! I like their turon, empanadas, pan de coco, and halo halo. Still many that I haven’t tried yet.

Yelp
Have you wanted to try the viral tik tok Dubai chocolate? Nervous about where the product comes from.... SAME, lol!!! However... this place has mixed the viral chocolate bar with a fresh and flaky croissant.... That you literally will be talking to everyone about!!! Such a wonderful place for FRESH BAKERY items. The store was small, yet clean and organized. The service was friendly and so was the patrons. This store just makes your soul happy when walking in.... Imagine what happens when you taste their products!

Yelp
The Baker's Son is a cozy little Filipino bakery that always delivers. The moment you step in, you're greeted by the smell of freshly baked goods--it's impossible not to love it here. Their empanadas are my personal favorite. The crust is flaky and golden, with a perfectly seasoned filling that's just the right balance of savory and satisfying. Definitely a must-try. Their sweets are always on point too, with lots of variety to satisfy any craving. Ube lovers will be in heaven since it's their specialty, and they really lean into it with breads, desserts, and more. They also offer boba and halo-halo, though I haven't tried them yet. A friend mentioned the halo-halo is on the sweeter side, so if you've got a sweet tooth, it might be worth checking out. For convenience, they sell some frozen items you can reheat at home, which is great for stocking up on your favorites. The bakery itself is small and cozy, with limited space, so don't expect to hang out for long. It does get busy, and they seem a little understaffed at times, so patience is key. The staff is super friendly, though, and they work hard to keep up with the crowds. Prices are a bit on the premium side, but for the quality and the chance to support a mom-and-pop shop, it's absolutely worth it. I always make a point to stop by before heading to LA Fitness if I'm early enough--they're popular for a reason, so things sell out fast. If you're looking for authentic Filipino baked goods with a warm, local vibe, The Baker's Son is a gem worth visiting.

Yelp
This place is like heaven on earth for filipino pastries! If you're looking for fresh filipino pastries, this is the only place to go to in jax. Everything is made fresh and in-house and you will not be disappointed in anything you get here. They do have a few warm options, such as siopao(steamed bun with protein inside) so forget to get 1 or 5! My go-to option here is the fresh pandesal, which brings me back to my childhood!
google avatar

Eralene M.

Yelp
The best Filipino bakery in Jacksonville. The only downside is that it's small but I don't want to knock it down a star just for being small. It's a take out bakery so I guess it's expected that it's small. All the deserts are delicious!!! They also have coffee and ube shakes too! Expect some bakery items to be fresh, some maybe made before hand. Try to come early though to beat a line! The store is small

Yelp
As we go into 5 years living here after moving from living in the Philippines for nearly 15 years. You are still the best find we could have ever found when it came to the flavors of the Philippines. Salamat!

Yelp
**INITIAL REVIEW** The first time I heard about The Baker's Son by Valerio's was through my stepmom. She's been wanting to go here and buy some trad Filipino baked goods for household and friends. Fortunately, we had the chance to stop by because we had a tour to attend down in St. Augustine. We were finally close enough to justify a visit as we live on the Space Coast. Where The Baker's Son by Valerio's (which I will shorthand to TBS for the remainder of the review) is located is kind of annoying to get. Seriously, who designed the roadways in this part of Jacksonville? Eventually, my family and I made it to the "back parking lot" of TBS, and upon entering, I knew this place would be amazing with the sweet fragrance of ube wafting through the air. And I don't care what anyone says, ube is far more superior to taro. My stepmom was definitely the definition of "kid in the candy store" as she bought bags and bags of baked goods. I will say that after tasting them later on, they were excellent. I definitely would recommend the baked goods case where all the classic baked goods are on display. There were so many versions of pandesal that I had trouble picking one for my initial visit. Ergo, I got all of them. For me, the winner were the mixed dessert drinks. I think most people who "indulge into Filipino food" will know about Halo-Halo (Mix-Mix) as a dessert, but there were other dessert drinks including one made with cheese flan (I definitely got that one!). Price is on the high end of fair, but given that Filipino baked goods are a rarity compared to the rest of Florida, I understand. Ultimately, TBS is an excellent addition to the Filipino cuisine scene here in Florida. Will definitely stop by here again whenever I decide to drive up to Jacksonville or pass by the area again. For my initial review, giving TBS four out of five stars. Everything is excellent, but I must save the fifth star for consistency. If I return (more than once) and TBS is just as amazing as my initial visit, will definitely give TBS their fifth star.

Yelp
I mean 5 stars is not enough star for me to give to them. I love this place so much that when they opened I think I went there every weekend lol, I am Filipina and I looooove and miss the goodies in the Philippines. I am so thankful that they chose Jacksonville to open their stores. it is a bit of a hike for me to go here since we live in Westside but Its worth it. they serve a lot of stuff here not just the sweets, they have drinks, and hot foods. All the baked goods they make is good, but I have my favorites: Pastillas, Turon, embotido, senyorita and a lot more lol. The staff here is always friendly and always ready to help. I love this place and if i can go here every weekend to get my sweet cravings I will do it lol. definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Yummy desserts, drinks and other options! I will be back for more! Upbeat and friendly service. Modern, bright bakery! Although this shop seems small, it's plenty. I've been to a Valerio's in Southern California that was smaller. This location really makes use of their small space, and there's so much variety! From sweet options like cookies and sweet breads to savory choices like siopao and pansit palabok, The Baker's Son has a wonderful selection of Filipino treats, which makes it a great one-stop shop if you want a variety of things. I like how bright and modern the decor is. The light bulb chandelier caught my attention right away. There were some stacked boxes and baskets stored by the waiting area for drinks, but I imagine they're there because the lack of room in the back area. We got chocolate chip cookies, puto, sapin sapin, an ensaymada, and a Biscoff cookie butter milkshake. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious! My brother had been to this location before and said their drinks are 5-stars every time. Next time I visit, I'd like to try their siopao and fried musubi balls, which I've never seen before (comes with a soy sauce dropper).

Eva M.

Yelp
Just found this gem today and it's right up the street from where I live. Never knew it was here but a must try. If you're an Ube fanatic, this is your place! Lots of variety. I personally enjoyed their chiffon sponge cake, beef empanada and almond croissant.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
A great Filipino bakery filled with tons of baked goods, drinks and breads. This is a must stop for any lover of desserts! They have a wide variety of selections and always fresh. Just tries include anything UBE :). Staff is friendly and the place itself is super clean and modern.
google avatar

JR L.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! They have the freshest baked goods because they constantly sell out and are constantly baking and restocking. I love their chocolate cake and I don't even eat chocolate. Another favorite are the pecan tarts, cheese puff pastries and empanadas. They also have a variety of must try drinks! The only thing I hate about this place is that it's directly across from gym so I have a bad habit of stopping by after I work out!‍ The service is great and you're always greeted with a smile.

Yelp
OK, I have to say I'm spoiled coming from the center of San Diego CA's Filipino community in National City. You really get spoiled there because you find a monster Filipino food shopping center called Seafood City - an incredible place, as you know, if you've ever been there (and don't forget Goldilocks too!). BUT this is JAX! And I've discovered that Filipino/Asian speciality shops seem to be much smaller. But that's all right too! Because The Baker's Son By Valeryio's is amazing in every way. It's small but makes great use of every square inch of space in the bakery. The shelves are tight and tall and filled with bakery treats that I often can't even say their name, or how they taste till it try! But my fave here is the coffee roll! It's on the top shelf left in one of the refrigerators! And next to it is the red velvet cake - it's coming next for me! The coffee roll here is superb, tasty (yes, you can taste the coffee more than the sugar), and terrific with a coffee beverage too! I recently tried what seemed to be an experiment offering called "fried spam musubi balls." You can see from one of my photos that there is what appears to be a soy "syringe" placed in it to inject the soy(?) with the spam inside it. Well, I had not seen this before and it was every bit worth the try! It was creative and delicious! If you are not familiar with Filipino baked treats, I recommend you try the sampler. It's noticeable on the shelves and it will help you target what you like the next time you come in. On a side note, you most likely will find the shop crowded when you come it. So be patient! It's worth the wait. Also, don't be afraid to try their coffee beverages. They have smoothies as well. I tried a hot white chocolate mocha with two pumps of syrup (I asked for them to lower the amount from what they normally put in) and I was wowed again! I know what to order when it comes to lattes anytime I go in now. The service here is solid. it's busy all the time and the employees are continually making something great for us! The Baker's Son is making me not miss those the west coast shops I loved. It's great to find a go-to place for treats - next is to find the best Filipino place to eat! And I have a feeling I know where that is! But for now, give The Bakers Son By Valerio's a try! Recommend: HIGHEST

Yelp
More good things: My favorite was probably the cinnamon roll ($2.50, and large), a good example of its type, and my wife liked it too. Second would be the chocolate chip cookie ($6 for 4): gooey and good, though I've probably had better. In third place I put the ube ensaymada ($4): pretty good, but I preferred the chocolate one before, which an employee told me they don't seem to make any more. My wife liked the ensaymada more than me: about tied for first, maybe. They do have a $10 minimum on credit cards. We'll be back again.

Yelp
I spent over $100 at this bakery. That's a little ridiculous when you think about it but in reality everything tasted amazing. It's a cool little Filipino bakery with really nice employees!!
google avatar

Geeg S.

Yelp
I have died and gone to Filipino bakery heaven! Try everything. All of it. The service was very quick - the girls were on top of it! They even gave me the fresh baked pandesal and ube bread without having a call ahead order. Try the ube basket, ube pandesal, ube coffee cake- ube everything! I will be coming back.
google avatar

Kristine S.

Yelp
The Baker's Son has quickly become one of my favorite bakeries in Jax! We've picked up items from here a couple times and everything we're tried has been fantastic! The ube selection is unmatched! Bread and rolls and cakes and shakes, oh my! You can't go wrong with any of these but I recommend the pan de ube. Try them warm and crispy right off the skillet! The ensaymadas are delicious, the classic cheese is my favorite. Some of my other go-to's are the ham & cheese buns, custard egg pie, chicken empanada, beef empanada and adobo pan de sal. Great to give as gifts especially around the holidays!
google avatar

Brooklyn S.

Yelp
Expand your horizons with the Filipino bakery! Get a sampler with lots of colors and flavors of chewy and not-too-sugary sweets. Or get a pork bun or shake or just some bread. Just go and get something before they sell Out or the line is out the door.
google avatar

Didi N.

Yelp
Pretty decent place for some Filipino pastries and goodies. The best things in my opinion are the following: Ube coffee cake: definitely one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The coffee cake is moist and rich, you can taste the ube flavor, and the crumble and ube icing on top is chef's kiss. The coffee cake is so moist the it falls apart in your hands (in a good way). I love having it with a glass of milk! I find myself eating multiple slices at a time. The chicken adobo and pork adobo siopaos (filled buns) are delicious and the flavors blend together quite nicely and is authentic. Being married to a Filipino and having those dishes from his mother and grandmother, I can say that the flavors are pretty spot on. The sisig siopao is okay and you can taste the pork and calamansi's tartness in it but it's honestly better in the sizzling plate form. The Buko pandan drink is really good, milky, not too sweet, and has the distinct flavor of pandan leaves with some toppings included like jellies and tapioca. My favorite is the calamansi juice. The juice is refreshing and reminds me of a freshly squeezed lime/orange combination. I highly recommend the juice and the pandan drink. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is that the customer service is quite horrible at times. The workers are young and I catch them copping an attitude with me about a few times I've been there. One time, I mistakenly went up to order a drink thinking there was a register just for drinks and the girl rudely told me that there was a line and for me to get in the line. It was an honest mistake and I apologized twice, but she gave me the rudest smirk. I've worked in customer service and I understand that it's not an easy field but at least try to be respectful and polite, especially when the customer is being friendly. I hope they train some of their younger staff on developing better customer service skills because this is not it.

Yelp
This was our first trip here. We found out about the bakers son on TikTok. The place is very small but has a variety of items. We ordered: ube ensamada, it was delicious. Coconut mochi ball was on a stick, this was just ok. Chicken and pork pandasal were both good and so were the empanadas. Turon was flavorful. The best was the dessert that looked like a ube cinnamon roll. It was very sweet but perfect with coffee. Your blood sugar will skyrocket. We spent over $40 which was a little pricey but worth it to satisfy my Filipino cravings.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Always delicious. They are pricey but everything is made fresh. Whenever I need a "fix" I go here. If I had any issue I would like to request mini lemon chiffon cake. But in no way is this a dealbreaker lol. I just like the mini lemon chiffon.

Yelp
Shoutout to the local community heroes at this awesome venue! Quality and quantity is all on point! I was like a kid in a candy store. A Willy Wonka experience would be a great comparison. It has so much variety! Hot, cold, baked, steamed, fried ... I never knew! I was amazed by the drink combinations also hot and cold variations ! All the smells, colors, textures! And they even had sales!! BOGO values! I was a bit confused about the check out line and the patrons still shopping, but all the customers were friendly and explained it to me. It's like a square room with a bakery shelve packed full of more goodies in the middle of the room. So people kinda shop around you if you are in the line to order hot foods, drinks, or check out. And the line moves pretty quickly, which makes everything easier. And I know that I probably bought more than I needed, but I wanted to get my favorites and try new stuff. I got a baked pork siopao to immediately devour in the parking lot in the truck! And enjoyed it with a hot coffee and a cold pandan drink! Delicious! I went home a separated out some stuff to freeze for later and metered out the rest for week. I was so happy! I bragged to my kids up North and they were jealous, but happy for me!! A great foodie adventure :)

Yelp
Bake goods were fantastic, highly recommend!! The staff was very helpful, and explained the different items. I am hooked!

Jessa L.

Yelp
Had to stop by while visiting Jacksonville and everything I purchased is a 10/10! The Ube Brioche donut is AMAZING. Prices are reasonable, bakery is clean and you'll get the warm and friendly filipino hospitality here. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
A must visit spot in Jacksonville their pastries are the absolute best! They have pretty much all the filipino classics like pandesal, puto bumbong, sapin-sapin, and more. But they also have some unique creations like a macapuno pandan tart. The bakery also sells savory items like pork/chicken adobo pandesal which is delicious. They also have halo halo and this strawberry calamansi drink that was pretty good. Honestly you'll have a hard time not buying everything in the store it all looks and tastes so good! Didn't have a problem with the service despite what other people have reported though it does get busy. Definitely plan on making a stop here whenever I'm in Jacksonville again!
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
This place is for all your carby dreams come true!! They have so many varieties of rolls, breads, sweets, stuffed breads...they have savory or sweet what ever your looking for! The ube rolls are so yummy and love the pretty purple color! They have a slight coconut vanilla smell/taste and so soft, gosh they are a treat! You walk in take a basket and walk thru and just pick what ever you want to try! Fun shopping experience! 5 stars for unique soft pillowy breads!
google avatar

Maritza M.

Yelp
We bought ube bread, puto desserts, ensaymadas, turon, beef empanadas and egg pie. Everything was to die for! The cashier girl was really nice and gave us some grounded coconut bags! Definitely we'll go back!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
Everything was so yummy! This is my new favorite halo halo; it had so many good things in there and the flan is perfection! Absolutely loved the baked goods, too! I cannot wait to go back and try more goodies, as well as get the same things again! My only minor complaint is that I wish they had some seating; it isn't a place you can hang out and eat.
google avatar

Becca F.

Yelp
Cinnamon roll, almond crossiant and pan de Sal were amazing !!! Top 5 of all time .. the bitso wasn't my tasting , but that's just me .. super convenient and everything is so fresh

Yelp
Puto flan - where have you been all my life? Took one bite into one of these amazing bite-sized creations (pandan flavored) and thought "this is different" but felt like I've had it before and then I had one of those very rare moments that one experience when tasting/smelling something familiar that it sets off a specific memory and all the emotions that comes along w it. A "Ratatouille flashback" if you will. I was transported back to a barangay fiesta and I was enjoying the festivities along w the food from the different houses. My inang (grandma) brought me a plate of different desserts to share (fruit salad, palitaw, bibingka, leche flan, Buko salad & sinuman), I was smiling ear to ear. Everything was so good and then my inang smiles and said "try those two together" while pointing at the leche flan and bibingka. I'm not gonna say it was mind-blowing good or mention anything about flavors/texture/ density but I knew it was good, very good but not amazing as these ones from The Baker's Son. Thank you for that moment of reliving my Inang and I sharing food and having a wonderful time together. I was full of good food, happy people around and my Inang was sitting right next to me. Thank you for making those amazing puto flan. Please keep making them :)

Lena K.

Yelp
They have the best filipino pastries and have really good croissants!!!!! The workers are very nice aswell, just an overall great bakery!!!
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
Great collection of pastries, desserts and fun drinks! My faves are those items in the case!
google avatar

Madison L.

Yelp
Wow how fun ! I've been wanting to stop by for ages. We shared halo halo in the car (so wish they had a bigger shop with seating! ) and phew that was a real good one !!!!!!!!! It was so perfect. Big flan piece and all the great bits! I picked up a few things in the picture. Soooooo yummy. Every meat filling so far has been fresh and delish! Their menu is so amazing and I desperately want to put every single thing on it into my mouth !!!!!!! Makes you feel good in there. Also not completely related but I saw a guy come out the back and start kick boxing for real. He also did some push-ups. This place has great service AND talent. Cant wait to come back for more treats !
google avatar

Sayaka B.

Yelp
The tiny store is packed with a lot of baked goodies for sure! I love ensaymada, ensaymada is a brioche bread which is buttery and pillow soft. I recommend you to get some siopao, steamed buns! There siopao is very soft and full of flavor! I will be back for more when I crave some Asian bread!
google avatar

Audrey A.

Yelp
When you walk through the doors, you are greeted with the most delicious air...which makes me spend waaaayy too much money here. There is a wide variety of Filipino baked goods and desserts to choose - from savory to sweet. I tend to get sweet, so among my favorites are Spanish bread, pan de ube, pastillas, and ensaymada. The pan de sal is also delicious. If you're not sure what to get, they have some single items in the case near the registers or smaller bundles in the same section as an item (most items are packaged in quantities of 6 or more).

Yelp
Loving this Filipino bakery making its debut in Jacksonville, Florida. Welcome! What a lovely aroma as soon as you walk in through the door. The Baker's son is the perfect name for this place. The place feels is young, cool, "hip" even. As someone who spent much of my childhood in the Philippines I saw baked goods sold from the streets and also commercialized bakeries in malls. Growing up, if I saw the street vendors I thought of the old Filipino baker behind the counter but then we walk around the malls and see big names like Red Ribbon or Goldilocks I think of a big corporate company detached from the community. The Baker's son is like that college graduate who grew up baking with dad learned business and decided to have the best of both worlds. Kept the homey feel but know how to assimilate into a modern world where it competes with other deluxe cupcake and cake connoisseur cafes. Their baker goods are fantastic. I am beaming with pride at how well this business is doing and it's not even my own. It falls just shy of perfection when it comes to taste.. mass production can do that sometimes. Nonetheless, everything is well packaged and quite fresh and tasty. Love the drink options because where else can we get halo halo shaved ice except from buying our own ingredients and attempting our own?! Well done, Baker's son! I loved my experience here

Frank O.

Yelp
I went to the store today and bought alot of baked goods and I ordered the mais con yelo. They made it for me and when I'm in my car i looked at my mais con yelo and found out they didn't put any ice cream on it. Theres no taste it's so bland before it was really good. The small petite lady skinny one who made it. I've been a loyal customer ever since they first opened bought a lot of stuff even told my co workers and bought a-lot of stuff for my co workers and friends. This is what I get for being a loyal customer. This is what my mais con yelo looks like.

Yelp
Want to expand your flavor pallet ...? Stop in and give them a look. Though you might not know what they all taste like , that's part of the excitement . Don't be scared to bring a little adventure into your ordinary day to day life .. The offerings are overwhelming in a good way. We picked up a few and got recommend garlic cheese bomb .. can't wait to try them

Yelp
Delightful filipino pastries and so many to choose from! I stopped by after lunch we had it to go , the halo halo, Pande ube & coco ,ube ensaymada, and Ube senyorita . Everything was incredibly delicious, my only regret is I didn't get more ensaymadas to go because they're so buttery and delicious! Can't wait to come back and try other goodies

Yelp
This place is just awesome. Every inch of shelf space is covered with fresh, delicious baked goods - multiple options of both sweet and savory - and they were bringing out more hot stuff on pans the whole time I was there. They offer excellent lattes, and I can't wait to get a different drink next time (so many refreshing options!). It's clean, brightly lit, and just has a happy, welcoming feel overall. The service was prompt and friendly too!

Yelp
Went here for the first time today. Lots of selection of Filipino pastries that you won't find in any other place in Florida and Georgia. Lots of ube stuff! Lots of parking outside, place is clean, lady behind the counter is nice! We went there around 11am on a weekday and there was no line outside. Jollibee is on the other side of the Atlantic Blvd. I don't know why people have downvoted this place for customer service. Not sure what they were expecting from a self-service store--oral history of pandesal? Have the little old lady behind the counter tell you each of the items they're selling got out of the oven? Anyway, good place. Will definitely return.

Yelp
The Baker's Son, wow, I'm so glad you are far far away!! Because I would have to visit way too often. This is a filipino bakery with heavenly baked goods and if you are obsessed with anything Ube, you will have a field day here. First I ordered an Ube shake. They also have the Ube Oreo shake and other drinks as well. I also picked up Biko ube, Ube cheese ensemyada, and got my free bag of 6 pan de Ube through liking their FB. I brought all those goodies home and savored my shake. Everything was amazing. There so many types of breads there. They also have some sweet items and they have empanadas. Id have a field day there! I want more and that's probably my new reason to have to go to Jacksonville now. Thanks for all the goodies!! This place is a must try!!!

Yelp
This is one of the best and fresh Filipino bakery in Jacksonville! It's made fresh at their store and there is a wide selection of bakery items that you can either bring with you home or eat there/ in your car. The service is always quick and friendly. I definitely recommend the baker's son 10/10 and to get their yummy Halo-Halo as well!

Yelp
Love the variety of fresh and frozen goodies they offer. I've not been to the Philippines but my husband has multiple times and always comments on how authentic everything tastes. I'm a sucker for a red or white bean pastry and while they don't carry that, they have a baby yellow bean bun that gets me my fill. There's plenty of parking but it can get crowded inside the store because it's a little tight inside so if you're looking around, you might be excusing yourself around the people in line - but some people just stand in line and get their goodies as they pass by. While we only stop by occasionally because it's a good way from us, we typically always split a flan shake. It's a must try.

Yelp
The best Filipino bakery I've ever been to, in any state. I love their sio pao, turon, Carioca, and yema senyoritas. Everything is always very fresh. Great for pot lucks and to share with coworkers. They keep their baked goods stocked and organized. They do run out of popular items towards the end of the day so it's always a good idea to go early if you're looking for something specific (like Carioca)

Yelp
My boyfriend introduced me to this bakery and it is amazing! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Every time I visit Jacksonville I have to stop here. I have a big family so I can easily spend around $100 when I come here and it's worth it every time.
