"For over thirty years, this Bryn Mawr bakeshop has captured the hearts and appetites of Philly residents. There’s a pie to suit every taste here, offering classic options like pecan and key lime, along with unique flavors such as pumpkin chiffon and strawberry rhubarb. Its most popular pie is the apple pecan caramel, available with or without caramel and pecans." - George Banks-Weston

I ordered a custom birthday cake from The Bakery House, and it was perfect! The design matched the theme beautifully, with flawless icing and attention to detail. The cake was moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Guests loved it, and it truly made the celebration special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cake that tastes as amazing as it looks!

This floral book cake completed our event in the best way possible! The Bakery House’s attention to detail and communication made for a seamless ordering process. Not only was it beautifully crafted, but it was also delicious!

Google
The graduation cake from The Bakery House was a total hit! The custom design captured the milestone perfectly, complete with a sleek finish and personalized touches. The icing was smooth and not too sweet, and the cake itself was incredibly moist and delicious. It looked amazing and tasted even better, making it the perfect centerpiece for a proud celebration!

My family has gone to the Bakery House for many years for birthday cakes and rogue treats and every single thing they make is outstanding. They converted my chocolate-loving father into a vanilla cake enthusiast. From their lemon bars to their pies and cakes...unreal. My husband and I used the Bakery House for our recent wedding and I worked closely with Kelly. She was incredibly kind, helpful, engaged, and dedicated to making sure our cake was delicious and beautiful. I felt like she went above and beyond for me. We know where to go for next big event or for our next treat!

I wanted to love this place as small bakeries are about as rare as unicorns. When my sister and I found this and read previous reviews, we decided to drive from Doylestown to check it out. The first time we went, despite the crazy claustrophobic atmosphere, we left with an assortment of pies, cookies and bars. Our families loved the pies, so we thought we had found a gem. The second time we made the trip, we had bad service and left without one of the items that we had ordered/purchased. We were on the fence about how it was handled until the owner or perhaps manager reached out, apologized and mailed us a small gift card. The fact that she called and followed up is what made us try it again. We went a third time to buy more pies and other baked goods that have had positive reviews….it was all underwhelming and not as good as that first time we had the pie. We went last weekend, during what was an incredibly hectic weekend due to the Jewish holiday, which we forgot about and had the worst service! When we drove back home to try the baked goods, the Jewish Apple cake that we bought was undercooked. The entire cake was inedible and disgusting. There was globs of raw dough that when you sliced the cake, smeared on the knife and your fingers. When I reached out to the bakery house about the undercooked cake. I was told that the manager would reach out to me and follow up. The girl who answered the phone was kind and said that he would be back Tuesday and would want to know about it. I even shared with the girl that I had wrapped and saved a couple slices for them to see as I did not want to save the entire cake. Needless to say, the week passed as did the wknd and now Monday evening I am leaving review. My family is willing to drive miles and spend@ $50 dollars per cake or pie if it is delicious. This is not about personal taste, if the product is so raw that you can taste the grainy flour, you would expect a phone call if nothing else. At this point with the lack of customer service and cost, I would happily pay people $50 to not go and waste their time or money….find another place

Google
This place is a bakery Wonderland! I popped in for the first time looking for a vanilla/vanilla birthday cake. Not only did I leave with the perfect, cutest cake…I grabbed two key lime pie bars 😋. I haven’t cut the cake yet but if you made those bars I’m sure it’s delicious.

Google
We have been buying cookies and cakes here since I was a kid, and now I’m a big kid who lives in California. However, it still is the best and love the strawberry shortcake and when they had it pumpkin pie. So glad this bakery is still around!

Google
I places a custom cake order for my daughter bday. The cake taste like cornbread. The texture is beyond stiff and the icing is better than the cake. Absolutely disappointing.

Monica B.

Yelp
Came here to order a birthday cake for my coworker. I gave them some basic details and let them run with it. I'm so excited with how the "mountain adventure" themed cake turned out! The cake was delicious too, everyone really enjoyed it!

Brooke J.

Yelp
I was at a party where the Lemon Blueberry cake was the main attraction! It was Excellent -- Great for summer and not too sweet! Will definitely try again!

Yelp
This is a very painful review to write, because the Bakery House has been my go-to place for great tasting baked goods for over two decades. And their best product has been their to-die-for caramel apple pie . . . until now. Several days ago I bought a caramel apple pie for a birthday dinner. It looked scrumptious as usual, but serving it was a disaster. The apples were severely UNDERcooked, and a thin liquid oozed out that coated the inside of box the pie came in. A huge disappointment, and with a current price of $34, there are no excuses. I have literally never had an issue like this from any other bakery. Other recent reviews show a similar degree of carelessness. I won't be back to risk this again, sadly.

Leigh T.

Yelp
The best cakes, cinnamon coffee cake and chicken salad. Oder ahead for holidays. We enjoy both naked carrot cake and naked chocolate cake. The chocolate cake freezes well.

Leslie F.

Yelp
Ordered a spinach and tomato quiche for a luncheon and it was amazing! It's a deep dish quiche that would easily serve 8. The mini croissants were also delicious. Easy to order online for a timed pickup.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
I wrote a review 4 years ago about purchasing an apple pie at The Bakery House that tasted like it had no sugar at all in it and being disappointed. Well, I hadn't been to the bakery since then until yesterday when I was in the neighborhood and decided to get pastries. I ended up getting a vanilla/vanilla cupcake which was delicious as always but I also got their salted caramel bar which was SO SALTY. The amount of salt mixed in with the caramel was probably 4 times the amount it should have been - it was truly inedible. There's no way that their regular recipe requires that much salt. Basically when the bakery items are good, they are good but it seems like they are very prone to errors in baking. Due to their inconsistencies you truly don't know what you're going to get.

Yelp
I went to a birthday party. Big one...hall...caterer...everything. There was a sheet cake from this place, half chocolate, half yellow with a chocolate buttercream frosting. I think it was decorated with buttercream roses. I was given a piece of each chocolate and yellow. The chocolate was annoyingly dense to the point of suspecting it was under baked. Tip o iceberg...the yellow cake was SALTY, like someone played a prank and put salt in the sugar container. Everyone at my table noticed it. Tables everywhere were littered with yellow cake plates with one bite missing. My friend had her party practically ruined by this event. Terrible ending to an otherwise fantastic party...great food otherwise by a caterer not associated with The Bakery House. So throw your parties but beware of baked goods from The Bakery House.

Adam C.

Yelp
Awesome strawberry shortcake. Best I have ever eaten. Place is small but seems t be efficient.

Jaclyn G.

Yelp
First and foremost, the cake was delicious. However, I was so disappointed in the experience I had at The Bakery House, and I noticed a lot of other frustrated customers as well. I placed an order online, which I have done multiple times before. I had an 11am pickup. Show up at 11 on the dot, they don't have my cake but went up stairs and came back and said it will be ready in 5 mins they are decorating it. Great, no problem. Well...20+ mins later and with an antsy toddler they bring my cake. I was literally speechless, the writing was not centered and not what I requested, plus it looked like someone decorated it at home not a reputable bakery. She offered to take it back up, and since I already waited I let her because it looked so bad. She came back a few mins later updated the writing, but it was off center and still incorrect. The girl was annoyed that I was like ehh it just doesn't look like the others I ordered that were the exact same cake order just different text. I felt for $70 this was pathetic looking. No dots on top like the theme requested, uncentered and even my guests were like I can't believe this was done by the Bakery House, their cakes are usually beautiful. I think they are too busy, the attention to detail is downhill and the people working need to get some customer service skills. The fact they thought this was acceptable is mind boggling to me. I was so embarrassed I ended up adding to it to make it less white space...

Steph B.

Yelp
Delicious cakes for last minute parties! Fast and convenient, fantastic selection of cookies and cupcakes as well.

Erin G.

Yelp
Bakery House serves the most amazing cakes that I have ever eaten! The first time I tried a Bakery House cake was at my friends birthday party, and the chocolate chip flavor in particular was amazing. I have since recommended people to order it for multiple occasions, and they all have said the most wonderful things about the service, food and design!

Lauren T.

Yelp
The Bakery House is the best! Thank you for making delectable treats for us to enjoy. It is wonderful to know that quality still exists.

Deborah H.

Yelp
What is going on at the Bakery House? It has been my favorite bakery for years, with a charming and communal vibe. I always especially enjoyed watching the bakers rolling out dough and filling the pies at the large communal table in the back. Went in this morning for what have been for years their fantastic scones, but they were a major disappointment - way too brown, overcooked and definitely stale. Inedible. Not the lovely freshness I remembered at all. Far worse, though, the communal baker's table was a huge disorganized mess, so covered with employee's personal water bottles and other assorted debris that there was hardly room for the bakers to work. Frankly, it made me uneasy to think of all the baked goods being made in this messy environment. I have always loved the Bakery House, but I must say I will not be going back.

Deborah A.

Yelp
The Bakery house made a terrible mistake on my Birthday cake. They used salt rather sugar. The owners never apologized.

Yelp
Has this winter got you feeling down? The resurgence of COVID bumming you out? RSV coming back with a vengeance? Flu to boot? Your favorite team losing in the World Cup (or the human rights violations)? May I, as neither a doctor nor someone who pretends to play a doctor on TV, suggest the cure to your ills? THIS CAKE! If you haven't figured it out, this review is for cakes ONLY. Specifically their chocolate cake with vanilla icing. And those cakes are fan-f-in-tastic. If you want a grocery store cake (which have their time and place--hint: always!), this is not it. The cake here usually has more moistness and heft. The moistness (sorry if you can't handle that word) is almost brownie like (without tasting like a brownie). And the cake has density to it, not like a super soft grocery store cake (which, again, time and place). If you like really sweet icing with some weight that reminds you of childhood, they nailed it. It's not too much like the trendy modern low-sugar or overly fancy buttercream. (If you really like icing, make sure to get flowers on your cake.) We have had the cookies and cream flavored cake once. That was very good, probably closer to 4 stars though. We had a few bakes good and the chicken salad. They were good, but outshined by the cake. Perhaps if we sampled everything we'd find some duds. But why waste your time on other things when the cake is so good? Arguable downsides are price and sometimes matter-of-fact service. But they're busy and they make a great cake, so that's fine.

Athena D.

Yelp
Small bakery right outside the city. Their cakes are delicious and have been a hit for all birthday parties and events. Their staff can easily customize them for you. Some may think they are a bit pricey and in comparison to a grocery store that would be correct. But remember for grocery stores many of their cakes and sweets come frozen, are thawed, and then decorated before selling. They are not made on-site. Only downfall about the bakery house is their staff (at times) can be a bit rude or very unhelpful.

Tom S.

Yelp
Amazing bakery! Their items are always so good! Do not pass it up! Cakes, pies, cookies, everything is so delicious!

Kerith J.

Yelp
One of my happy places. Didn't take pictures but they have an open kitchen and you can see the bakers work their magic. They have the best ginger cookies I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, my wife jacked me for the chocolate chip cookies and I never got to try them.

Eleanor P.

Yelp
Apple pecan pie is AMAZING! The cakes are loved by others but I'm more of a non-cake fan.

Lakara B.

Yelp
Stopped in for the first time while waiting for the bus to go home from an appointment in the area on Wednesday... Honestly, it was because I had 9 minutes to spare before the scheduled bus and it was freezing out, but OMG. It was like walking into Santa's workshop or something. Super charming shop (I don't need to tell you how AMAZING the inside of a bakery smells) with all kinds of novelties and baked goods lining the walls, refrigerated cases full of treats, bustling with staff and customers and you can look through to the kitchen... It's really just a very cool, completely whimsical feeling place. Like being inside a fairy tale. I grabbed a slice of blueberry cake, and found out it was lemon blueberry cake (even better) but was in a hurry, so I didn't bother to add anything else. The staff was soooo nice. Friendly, engaging, helpful, suggestive in the best way. Like I literally have not one negative about this place (except that they don't have eclairs Lol). When I got outside, the bus had come early and it was 20 minutes til the next one, so, I went back in. I kept adding things and finally left with a nearly overflowing bag containing a slice of chocolate cake, a cheesecake bar, a key lime bar, a carrot cake cupcake, a slice of Jewish apple cake, and a tub of chicken salad with cranberries and almonds (and the lemon blueberry slice I purchased a few minutes earlier). Now listen... My dad makes me a lemon blueberry cake or a carrot cake every year for my birthday, and he makes a Jewish apple cake every year for the holidays... My sister makes amazing cheesecakes, y'all have seen what I can do with a chocolate cake, I go to Florida twice a year just for stone crabs and key lime pie, and I just finished my own batch of turkey salad with cranberries and pecans so my standards are pretty high for all of the things I purchased. Lol. When I tell you not one thing in this haul was disappointing. Lol. I had to look up their insta so I could follow cuz I am in love (thebakeryhouse604). Seriously can't believe I've been seeing a doctor out there regularly for six years and never ventured into the neighborhood, but I guess that's just one of the problems with driving... I live a good 40 mins away, so I never really hang around too much. Anyway, this will totally be a thing for me now. "Oh, I have an appointment with Linda, ooh, yes, I get to stop at the bakery!!!" Thank you Bakery House. You are magic.

Ruth D.

Yelp
Best. Chicken. Salad. Ever. Their cupcakes are perfect. I also occasionally buy a piece of chocolate cake with mocha icing. And they have great blueberry pound cake. I haven't found a better bakery. I go out of my way to shop here.

Kay A.

Yelp
We called Bakery House on a Wednesday for a cake we needed on the following Saturday in turquoise/Robin's egg blue for a bridal shower. Bakery House not only came through for us but went above and beyond! The cake was done ahead of schedule, looked absolutely beautiful and was DELICIOUS all for half of what it would've cost from a city bakery. BH never disappoints.

Lisa E.

Yelp
I needed a cake kind of last minute for my daughter's 16th birthday dinner.I placed an order through email with a photograph followed up by a very detailed phone call. When I went to pick up the cake part of the design was missing. I explained this to the cashier who spoke to a decorator who said it would be fixed. No one explained how or asked my opinion so I thought the missing decorations would be added. Finally the cake was brought out and there was Happy Birthday written in silver icing on a buttercream cake. It was an expensive cake so I was disappointed and said so. Was given the manager's name, Chris, who I spoke with the next day. He and I discussed the situation and he said he would get back to me later that morning, that was Monday the 13th, have not heard back. This was my first cake from here (based on a recommendation) and it will definitely be my last!!! I will be telling friends and family not to use this business in the future.

V R.

Yelp
Covid policy was in place. Mask needed to enter and they only let one family in store at a time. If you needed to pick up a cake you still had to wait in line outside. But someone will come out and ask for your name and bring your item out or get it ready. Only problem I had was inside store when buying pies, they weren't covered on the top. There were little nats flying all around the store landing on the pies. YUCK. Even where they stored the custom pick up cakes on the shelve, was open for flies. The cakes were in their boxes but not closed all the way maybe for sweating, or design wouldn't allow them to close completely. I would suggest putting finished cakes in a covered area. Because of this, even though I purchased a personal size pie, cupcake and cookies, I couldn't stomach to eat it all. I tried the cookie which was pretty good. But threw the rest out. Probably won't be back.

Jessica S.

Yelp
The Bakery House is a classic bakery. They have everything from cakes to pies to cookies and cupcakes (no donuts). The people are friendly and helpful. It's usually crowded because it's a great bakery. They take credit cards and there's street parking. They also make really good chicken salad. I have a niece with peanut allergies and she is able to eat their cakes.

Blake F.

Yelp
A good friend of mine was having a joint birthday party with her husband. We had a nice dinner made by their personal chef, but they decided to order a cake for dessert from The Bakery House! When the cake came out, everyone was in shock by how beautiful it looked. It was beautiful piped on the outside, had amazing looking decorations including pinecones and two beautiful "love-birds" to match the theme of the party. The cake was really good. The cake itself was really light and airy, but full of flavor. The chocolate chips inside also added a second dimension of delicious flavor! The frosting was pretty good as well too, it was fresh and flavorful. Altogether, The Bakery House puts everything together from the chocolate chips in the cake to the decorations. They truly make an amazing cake!

Steve K.

Yelp
Stopped in to pick up a few muffins and found a very nice classic bakery with a beautiful array of pastries, cakes, and cookies. TBH was quite busy the afternoon that I came in and the nice saleslady behind the counter explained that there was a run on muffins that morning explaining the lack of product when I got there. The bran muffin and banana muffin that I purchased were quite good.

Simon W.

Yelp
Love this bakery!! We ordered our gender reveal cake and it was amazing. People there were super helpful and caring. Cake was delicious.

K C.

Yelp
The cakes, pies and cookies are all so wonderful. Walking in you get a whiff and want to take everything home. There is no doubt they are good at what they do. Unfortunately they are so busy all the time. They rush through orders and seem annoyed with too many questions. I do not know what size cake I need or how many slices that will be that is what I am here and not acme across the street. Prices are high but with it just need better service. Also NO DOGS!! I have been in several times with dogs being there small ones in the Purse but one on the leash that scares my two year old come on. It's a bakery it's a health and safety issue. Sign on the door not dogs allowed!!! It's gross and unkind for other customers.

Wesley P.

Yelp
I like the treats here, but there are flies flying around inside this establishment. Totally grossed out. The brownies I purchased were not for me, but doing something about the insects!!!

Shanel S.

Yelp
Small shop filled with goodies! My go to are the cakes whether carrot or marble they are the truth. I have had some of the cookies and will eventually try the soups/pot pies. God bakery has to have good crust. Pretty busy shop so call ahead if you can. They do special events and beautiful designs. They did a beautiful two tier chocolate and carrot cake with a beach theme. Gorgeous. If you are looking for a solid bakery, this is it.

Cindy W.

Yelp
This is the best bakery! I drive from Cherry Hill, NJ to this location in Brynmawr, Pa it's over an hour drive to get cake!! but I won't go anywhere else to get a birthday cake. I have ordered 3 birthday cakes from here in the past 6 months and I have been so pleased with every single one. The Large vanilla cake is dense but extremely moist and the decorations have been beautiful. Even more amazing is their orange almond pound cake loaf, I don't even want to say how many of these loaves I have bought! I buy them for gifts, I buy them for my office and for myself. They are so addictive, anyone who has had them, loves them!! I highly recommend ordering your cakes from them, they are very professional and their desserts are amazing!!

Lauren F.

Yelp
The Bakery House has long been a favorite of mine. Every time there is a special occasion (birthdays, weddings, showers, etc), they are our first (and only) choice to bake our cakes! The decorating is always beautiful and the cake is unlike any other I've ever tasted! Friends and family always ask where the cake was from and soon more fans are made!! Due to my 2 year old's dairy allergy we haven't been able to buy cakes here like we used to, but I called the other week hoping they'd have a dairy free option. To my delight when I called they said they could do a vegan cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. I didn't want my son to feel left out so we went dairy free for all of us. The Bakery House knocked this one out of the park and everyone raved about how delicious the cake was!!! Thank you, Bakery House, for always delivering the best treats!

Shannon W.

Yelp
Love the actual cake, wish the people would work there would admit when they make a mistake and be apologetic. They put the blame on the customer in-addition to the inconvenience, and and effort driving to pick up the cake for a second time. They need to have better communication skills if they have a question about your cake. It's unfortunate because the cake is delicious but the service has been aggressively going downhill over the last few visits.

Laila D.

Yelp
For some reason, when you enter here, you will feel like you've been transported into the master baking house of the village of the Gnomes. I say that as a huge compliment. Wouldn't everyone want to be transported to there? It's perhaps the coziest bakery I've ever been to. Upon entering, you will feel as if a gnome wrapped you in an invisible warm shawl smelling of sugar, flour, cinnamon and pumpkin spice. Perhaps this sensory illusion is evoked by wall to wall counters and tables which immediately surround you as you walk in that are filled with homey baked goods of all kinds (cupcakes, pies big and small, ginger snap cookies, huge pillowy coffee cakes and apple crumb cake, lemon cake, pumpkin spice, scones, chocolate chip cake, cinnamon twists, pumpkin pies, numerous perfectly iced round and square cakes, fruit bars, and that's just the tip of the iceberg ... it's a dizzying number of comforting and lovely baked goods that remind you of the delights of childhood mixed with the village of the gnomes in the most wonderful way. I think Proust would be happy to take a wistful nap here. If you go, I recommend the coffee cake and the scones: would give these ten stars. The small regular blueberry pie was not my favorite however - overpriced, the crust bland and the filling was too soft and tart and lacking a marriage of flavors: perhaps it was 'sugar free'?. However the blueberry scone and coffee cake more than made up for it. The service is most kind and hospitable. I'll have to return for more tastings, including the recommended chocolate chip cake, cinnamon twist and ginger snaps.

Paul M.

Yelp
Last week we bought a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. We have purchased many items over the years and this pie was an expensive treat. Unfortunately, the pie looked better that it tasted. It was very bland and tasted like someone had forgot to add spice to the mix. Probably the last pie we will purchase.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Bakery house is definitely a go to for me and all my friends for cakes and muffins. I always get the chocolate chip cake and it never disappoints. The cake is the perfect texture and there is just the right amount of icing. Even when I was vegan the cake was same quality and tastes almost exactly the same as the normal one. The only reason I take off a star is because I first ordered a cake with gold drip and they told me that was 15$ extra so then I called back and changed it to just blue so I thought when I picked it up I would get 15$ back but they claimed just the drip was 15$‍. I do appreciate how good they are with day ahead orders however as I only had to call them 24 hrs before.

Maya K.

Yelp
Don't let the other reviews turn you away from this place! Honestly I was hesitant to go there to buy a birthday cake but I am SO glad and thankful that I did! I got a 8" single round birthday cake-chocolate chip pound cake was the flavor because that was one of the gluten free options they had! The cake was BEAUTIFUL! I was blown away when I saw it. And it was only $25! It was beautifully decorated and DELICIOUS!!!! Also, I tried their pumpkin spice cupcake, chocolate chip cookie, and mini red velvet cupcake. Everything was amazing. The pumpkin spice cupcake was basically a spice cake cupcake with this amazing spiced cream cheese frosting. I'm not sure exactly what was in it but was not your ordinary plain cream cheese frosting. I loved all of them. PLUS- they had samples at the bakery when I visited! They had their nut bar (so good) and their crumb cake (I took 2 samples because it was so good). I will definitely be going back!

Katie J.

Yelp
The cookies were awesome! We just happened to find this place after enjoying a lunch at Tao One next door. Lucky us! This store was crazy busy!!! Everyone was picking up one of the gorgeous cakes. We're planning a pick up a cake next time.

Elaine N.

Yelp
Bakery House made my three tiered wedding cake. The tasting session was amazing. They give you large slices of each of their offerings. Our baker (I think her name is Rachel) explained each flavor and gave us ample time to sample privately and was not pushy at all. She was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant! While my husband and I were sampling the cakes, a few customers walked by and told us they also ordered their wedding cake from Bakery House and suggested flavors. We didn't want much decorations on the cake since we added our own flowers and topper. Overall, the cake was very simple and neatly executed by the Bakery House team.

Kirsty M.

Yelp
Bakery House was a great choice for a birthday cake! I had not ordered ahead for my moms birthday cake, so I was calling around to see who where I could pick up a cake for the day of. I called Bakery House, and they were super accommodating with a ton of options to offer over the phone. I waited in a short line (the store is small so 2 groups in at once during coronavirus) but my cake was ready in just few minutes and they were able to customize it. It was DELICIOUS. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and pretty too! They also have a ton of pies, cookies and cupcakes.

Clark E.

Yelp
I ordered a cake for my mother that passed for a remembrance party for her birthday, when the cake arrived I noticed that it was extremely heavy it was a two-layer round chocolate cake for 25 people, after the first initial bite, I knew something wasn't right, the cake was a little thick and very chewy, almost like it needed to be baked longer, I was not pleased at all and very disappointed!

LA R.

Yelp
We first had Bakery House cupcakes at a family event and loved them. Can't wait to get a variety to take home on next visit to Main Line as they are taking orders and allowing limited entry of one or two patrons at a time for safety. I saw you can preorder online but for some reason cupcakes were not included on menu. Nor was their famous chicken salad. Perhaps they will fix that oversight. I was assured by phone message that they do have both. At any rate, you don't have to pre-order but get there early in day for best selection. So craveably delicious.

Chris C.

Yelp
This place is the illest. Can't find many good bakeries anymore that aren't a lame Panera or a section of Whole Foods. They have a good variety and quality stuff. Smells incredible.

Gretchen L.

Yelp
They never cease to amaze me with their product and customer service! They have made both of my sons' 1st birthday cakes, and have made them beautifully and in relatively short notice (I'm a really skilled procrastinator). Their cakes are second to none, and prices are beyond reasonable. Our family will always be a Bakery House Family for all of our birthday, holiday and "just cause" needs!

Matt S.

Yelp
The building looks nice and everything inside looks nice too, but I've never been super impressed. I've bought a few items on my own and they were average tasting, nothing special. If you really want food that looks like artwork, then this is the place. I just wish the flavors backed it up. A co-worker loves the cakes from this place, so we tend to get her birthday cakes from here. That's the majority of the cakes I've had. Yea, they're better than the Acme cakes, but I just want some better flavors. A close friend is a pastry chef and she said throughout school, a lot of the best designers couldn't bake. This place is probably just a case of that.

Dave L.

Yelp
Their Bay State muffin is one decent muffin. I'd date it, if such a thing were possible. I'm hardly a fan of nuts or super sweet muffin tops, but the Bay State manages to have just enough fruity debris atop it to keep me from running out of the room screaming. Plus, its inside is moist; you can't beat a carrot cake-esque filling.

Yelp
Main line Bakery in business over 2 decades. Multiple "best of mainline" awards are all warranted. Yes, its a bit pricey, but what on Route 30 in Bryn Mawr isn't? I have been going here for about 15 years and highly recommend this Bakery! They have the regular things...Cakes, Pies, Brownies, their line of "bars" (key lime bar, 7 layer bar, brownie bar, etc), Cookies, Muffins and you can also special order donuts and eclairs...they are WAY better than what you get at Dunkin Donuts, but they are more expensive too. We even got our wedding cake here this summer, which was a HUGE hit withour guests! 4 cake flavors in one big beautiful cake! It was absolutely delicious and beautiful! They also make dog biscuits here which are so homemade I've actually eaten them myself...Bit odd, but this is a dog friendly bakery and you can bring your well behaved pup into the store! I have come to know the owner in the past 15 years, very proud of her business and rightly so. This past winter she rented a little bulldozer and was plowing the street making parking spaces for her and the other local business. Who does that? Sandy does! Service here is fantastic...the Bakery opens early and stays open late to bake\clean\setup shop. I've come in here after leaving the bar at 1:30 in the morning and at 6:30 in the morning on the way into work...NOTE: the late hours are usually around the holidays when they are baking like crazy 24/7, but everytime I've gone in there off hours someone has stopped what they are doing to help me out at the register. Trust in the many solid reviews for the Bakery House, they have earned their 4 stars!

Yelp
Disappointing. I ordered a custom cake from Bakery House a few weeks ago. I sent inspiration pictures to the baker and we discussed options and settled on a design. Given COVID and the urgency to get in and out of the bakery I did not check the cake til' I got home. What I found was disheartening (see attached pictures). My family thought I decorated it myself.....and we're shocked to hear that came from a professional. I reached out to the bakery to express my disappointment of the situation and they decided not to respond. Im truly sad to say I cannot patron Bakery House anymore.

Yelp
Ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and requested a clown theme (). What we got was absolutely beautiful! They did an outstanding job and made a birthday during a pandemic much more special!!! Thank you for your talents!
