This used to be a fun date spot on the weekends, not anymore. We've supported The Bank Shot since it opened, we are always looking to support local. I have 5 kids (2with disabilities) so we're loving the family vibe with the exception of weekends. After around 8pm Fri & Sat they used to have a bouncer come in and card, allowing it to function as a true "bar & pool hall" at night on the weekends PERFECT.
However, that is no longer what you can expect. After months of going through some major family transitions (including being laid off and losing my income) we decided to venture out for a lil date night this past weekend and were surprised to see that it was after 8pm when we arrived (after dropping our special needs daughter at the Senior Ball with her para) as there was no bouncer.
We grabbed a beer and a small table to play a game of backgammon that we had brought from home. There was one other party in the seating area ... 4 adults and 3 children. By 9pm the kids were BORED. The parents were enjoying their night out (I love that and "get it") but I had left mine at home for a date night so when all 3 children moved to a table on the other side of ours and started using it as a jungle gym ... rolling on the floor, sitting and standing on the table, doing a wheelbarrow with their feet on the walls ... of course laughing and giggling (as children should and do) right in our ear as they chose a table right next to ours to have their grand OUTDOOR adventure activities on. Disappointing but, it's ok, they're children. My husband went to the counter and asked the male and the younger female if they would assist with asking the parents to address their children. Unfortunately, the guests were friends of the owner so we received no help from the staff.
We decided that we would just finish our game snacks, and beers and then takeoff ... we would keep this in mind the next time we were looking for an adult date night. However, the parents had noticed that my husband spoke to the people at the counter about it and they stood up and started recording the kids doing stunts on the walls & tables ... encouraging them to do crazier stunts, taking the chaotic activity up a level. My husband said, I just don't understand it and out of no where, one of the females to my back started a full verbal assault on me. I was caught completely off guard, as I was facing my husband and the wall. She started yelling and saying that she is friends with the owner (Rob) and that her kids can do whatever the F- they want.
The staff did nothing to address the situation. I honestly feared my husband would stop tolerating her absurd abusive behavior and lose himself. We left our drinks and food.
This is SO unfortunate and disappointing. it's always been full of family and friends of the owners...that was part of the appeal, but if your "houseguests" become unruly and attack strangers (loyal customers), unprovoked, staff should handle that maintaining safety and order.
