Yelp
We visited Chihuly Garden and Glass last month with six adults and three small children in our party. It was the first excursion on a giant extended family trip to Seattle, and since I'm the Yelp psycho and oldest adult child, I was kind of in charge of figuring out how everyone got fed. This first night was the trickiest, as we were all kind of doing our own thing before and after the museum. I got a major assist from The Bar, where we were able to walk in and get food and drink for whoever needed it at that particular time.
It isn't listed on the website, but The Bar has a kid's menu in addition to an appealing café menu for adults. We had late dinner plans but needed to feed our children, and it was nice to be able to sit and have cocktails while they ate their grilled cheese and chicken tenders.
We walked in at 6:30 and were able to get two adjacent tables for our big group. We were right on time, apparently--they were only open until 7:00. Service was fast and friendly. We were in and out in about half an hour, and they didn't have to chase us out. The space was decorated--there were tchotchkes and art on the walls, and even dozens of accordions hanging from the ceiling--but for some reason, the bar didn't have a ton of atmosphere. Maybe it was the lighting or something, but the place had a bit of a cafeteria feel that was not quite in sync with the rest of the Chihuly.
It worked well for our purposes, though, and I appreciated their high-effort cocktails. I got a PNW Margarita, a nice drink with cedar-infused tequila, lime, agave, and jalapeño ash. My husband's Inkwell was decent, if a bit strangely sweet, with a roasted pistachio-infused blend of Old Overholt rye and Elijah Craig bourbon, black mission fig syrup, and house cinnamon bitters.
The kids ate great. I took a little of my two-year-old's chicken tenders and fries and they were genuinely tasty. If you need a quick drink or bite while visiting the Chihuly, The Bar is a solid default option.
