This place is just so cute and a fun little experience, love coming here for a cute dinner date. The sushi is great and the sake is too. Staff is very friendly and free parking is available behind the building. Would recommend!

I’ve been wanting to try The Bar – Handrolls by Seabutter for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The menu is super fun and creative—not like other handroll spots where you’re stuck with a super limited selection. I started with the six handroll set and couldn’t resist adding a few bonus rolls: “The CUT” (caviar, uni, and toro!) was next level, plus the salmon truffle and wagyu uni were just insane. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Can’t wait to come back!

Finally got to stop by this place and I am so sad it took me this long because it was so good! The freshness of their dishes is unmatched. Every bite that I had was incredible. I will definitely be back. The only thing I didn't care for was the truffle salmon. It lacked a bit of depth and seasoning the other dishes had. The amberjack was my favorite! I also like that they have a veggie menu. The inside is beautiful as well. The woodwork was well done. And the staff friendly. Recommend!

Absolutely love this place, from the setting of seats, to their “without-any-room-to-complain” food and excellent services!! I ordered “seabutter deluxe”, with 5 hand rolls I was already full as each roll had plenty of sashimi. I went with a 4-year-old kid, I tried to order a “Wagyu Don” but requested for more well done. However, I was told that the wagyu beef must be cooked as medium rare in order to maximize its tastiness. I respected a lot on this as the chef is right, sometimes not everything could be compromised, especially for good food 😂. Didn’t regret for still ordering one Wagyu Don, my son told me it was the best rice he ever had 😏. My 9-year-old son ordered a Salmon Don. Overall we were very satisfied and definitely will come back again!

I have tried handrolls before, but this place takes the lead in taste and presentation. I went with the seabutter deluxe for 55$, and omg, what an experience. Every single handroll was a piece of art and a party in my mouth. It's so creamy and buttery and absolutely delicious. I 100% recommend this place.

Very cool spot in the valley. I honestly wasn’t expecting this to be a good sushi spot. The restaurant seems nice & clean with great services. The sushi was fantastic, extremely fresh. The speciality hand rolls were all very creative with lots of good flavors. Just plain delicious. The H.Y.E handroll was by far my favorite.

The service is amazing, no doubt. I was disappointed that the spicy tuna and spicy rolls were really basic rolls. I can only recommend this place if you've got a date and want a quick sushi fix. Side note. Their unagi is not fresh, it's prepackaged, and while that's ok, I really like my unagi fresh. 100 for service 66 for food.

When the DineLA list of restaurants comes out 2x a year, I try to squeeze in a couple of new restaurants. It's a great way to sample several specialty courses in a prix fixe price that feels like a steal. This February '25, it was The Bar - Hand Rolls by Seabutter that caught my eye and whispered sweet sushi nothings into my ears. Of course, the choice was super easy because I was craving good sushi and knew that Seabutter in Westlake Village was reputable with their fish menu. But what I wasn't expecting was the amazing first impression. If you appreciate architecture and design, the minimalist wood panels and circular bar was arresting. Much like how Gaudí's Casa Batllo in Barcelona incorporates natural light into its design, the golden stream of the sunset delicately dimmed the circle around this elegant sushi bar. Our menu for the evening included a choice of cold or hot sake. For starters, the miso soup or cucumber sunomono salad. * HYE was OMG. The minced truffle with yellowtail belly, sesame oil, kizami wasabi, and dash of sea salt was superb. * Spicy Tuna Crunch was great on the heat and nice on the crunch. * Seared Salmon hand roll with artichoke truffle was mmmm. * Scallop was my fave only because it's never a fair game when scallop shows up to my dinner party. With the freshness of the fish and light crowd on a week day early evening, I'd like to make my way back here a few more times. And for $7-11/hand roll, it's a sweet deal for wholesome food with today's prices. Healthy too (if you leave out the sake ;)

My friend and I love a crisp handroll and especially creative fillings so Hand Rolls by Seabutter was a fun choice. They have a 5 roll set with preset options that we ordered and we added one more, another roll called the USC as a final bite. The meal started with a vinegary sunomono cucumber salad, which is appreciated as a palate cleanser. The chefs then deposited a creamy scallop roll, a spicy tuna with lots of punch from a sriracha type sauce and a spear of cucumber, amberjack, salmon, and blue crab. The standouts for me were the seared salmon with a really memorable artichoke truffle salt, and the yellowtail with interesting condiments. Of course, I liked the USC with a seared salmon, creamy uni and a dallop of caviar but it was $$. Perhaps the only thing I did not love was the size of the seaweed. It was far too long and the sushi chefs used the whole length so it doubled up on itself and became such a thick layer of nori.

I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while, since they turned it into a sushi bar from what was once a laundromat. Impressions: Pros: - Easy parking in the back lot by the market - Tasty sushi Cons: - Expensive, especially for the set plates - no tables, only the sushi bar for seating - very quiet. We were there at lunch hour, and we were the only ones there. Total damage: $58 after tip for hot sake, the $23 three-piece set plate, and a spicy tuna crunch roll. I walked away feeling disgruntled about how much I had spent. The atmosphere left me wanting (SO quiet) and the sushi, while tasty, wasn't any better than at any of the wide variety of sushi places in the local area. There are other places with much more upbeat atmosphere and where you can get a lot more for $58. I didn't walk out of there, thinking to myself: wow, I can't wait to go back! Maybe I will, and maybe I won't. Check it out for yourself and see.

The bar is an excellent Dine La option! My friend and I went during lunch time. Street parking and additional 1 hour parking available in the back. Ambiance is very intimate, the bar is literally a circle with the sushi chef in the center, I loved it. Service was excellent. The flavors of all the hand rolls we had were fresh and flavorful. My favorite of the dine la menu was the HYE - minced yellowtail belly and truffle. It was tempting not to order more but I wanted to try different speciality items. The most common speciality items per the server was the double t and miss crab! My friend ordered the crab Donburi. All delicious. Definitely coming back here to try more items!

Came on a Sat around 6:30. Was able to get seated right away for 4. Parking was easy, as there is a small lot for the plaza (albeit there being old signs for the taco spot... but we risked it lol). There's also street parking. I love the sleek ambiance - though physically small, but the high ceiling and rounded bar setting really opens up the place. At a glance, the restaurant can probably seat about 20 people. We weren't really impressed by their sister restaurant, Seabutter, at our previous DineLA, but The Bar fares better, imo. Not the best handrolls (e.g. roasted seaweed, served while still crispy), but not bad either. For this year's DineLA until 2/7/25, for just $35 we got the following: - Sunomono Salad (or miso): simple and refreshing. Thinly sliced cucumbers in a ponzu-like sauce. - Spicy Tuna Crunch: I liked the crunch in this - Scallop: not very memorable - HYE: our fave! flavorful - Salmon Truffle: this was our second fave, truffle is always a banger. - Sake (or wine or soda): such a generous serving, and served warm. It was nice! At least 6 cups worth which is more than plenty. The timing between rolls was kinda slow, but we were able to chat. However, SO and I did order another 3 set to split between us, but it took 20 min before we realized it was taking awhile so we cancelled. The waitress was sweet; she offered mochi ice cream though!

This place is soooo good! It is on a cute little strip on Tujunga ave. There isn't a long wait every time I go (I go a little later than dinner time) and the staff is so friendly. You sit at the bar and order with a waitress and the chefs put your food on your plate. The only down side I would say is the portions are small (which are fine), but I wish there was more sea weed salad on my plate than what the price is for. Everything else, amazing! Fish is fresh!

I love hand roll bars in general and by far this is the best quality, unique options, and so flavorful! The wall decor is eye catching and the round seating gives it a fung shui atmosphere - almost as if it was purposeful and truly appreciate. I enjoyed almost everything that I ordered, dishes and rolls were served at a good pace and not rushed.

The Bar- Hand Rolls by Seabutter is an absolute must-visit breaking tradition from traditional sushi restaurants and Hand Rolls! The hand rolls here are nothing short of exceptional--each one is freshly made right in front of you and served at the perfect temperature. The seaweed is crisp, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and the fish is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delightful. The menu offers a wonderful variety, and each roll feels like a work of art. The Double T (Toro and Truffle) was my favorite--its flavors and textures were perfectly balanced, creamy, rich, and decadent. We also loved the spicy tuna crunch, salmon truffle, and scallop and uni-scallop. Each one was perfection, yet our least favorite was the uni-scallop, which was ordinary compared to the complex flavors of the other ones. The atmosphere is unique and inviting, and you can tell there's a lot of thought put into creating an enjoyable dining experience. Sitting at a large circular counter and watching the chefs work their magic is such a fun and interactive element. Saina was attentive, friendly, and eager to make our experience memorable. Whether you're a hand roll aficionado or trying them for the first time, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

The quality of the fish is great, it tasted so fresh ! My favorite was the U.S.C. (uni, seared scallop, caviar). With the uni and caviar they give, it's a little on the pricier side compared to other hand roll places.

This hand roll sushi spot came highly recommended by a friend on Yelp, and it truly was a phenomenal experience. I brought a friend who typically avoids raw sushi and prefers cooked items, so she ordered the Wagyu Don bowl. It was incredibly flavorful, though the portion size was a bit small to fully satisfy her appetite. I went all-in and ordered a six-roll hand roll set, and every single roll was packed with bold, prominent flavors that really stood out. There was a minor mix-up where my blue crab roll was missing, but the staff was quick to address it, and they made sure I got my full order. The chef was fantastic, taking the time to explain each roll as they came out, which added a personal touch to the experience. My personal favorites were the salmon yellowtail and the blue crab--they were absolutely delicious. Plus, the seaweed on each roll was perfectly crispy. The ambiance here is calm and clean, though the space (and the parking lot) is quite small, so keep that in mind during busy hours. Despite that, I would absolutely come back--both to revisit my favorites and try more of their flavors.

Loved this handroll bar! We ended up at this place randomly because the vibes were immaculate and I loved the round table. We ordered the handroll set and all the fish were very fresh and I loved the fresh crunchy seaweed as well. The pricing was great and they even offer real authentic wasabi. Cute spot for lunch or even dinner date.

I was excited to finally try this place because it's only a couple blocks away from my home. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed and don't expect to be returning. I love the concept and the bar looks cool, it's definitely a vibe. The service was really good as well, they were very attentive and quick with everything. Unfortunately the food fell short for me, everything looks delicious and when they were making our hand rolls I was so excited to try but the flavors fell short and the quality of the fish was not so great either. The negitoro roll was the worst quality negitoro roll I've ever had, just to give you reference on quality. If everything was delicious, and the quality was great, then the prices would be amazing, but due to the lack of quality, I feel like i overpaid a bit. This place was not bad, but it was not great either pretty mediocre. I could probably get better items at Whole Foods and erewhon.

Solid hand rolls, solid service. We ordered the Seabutter Deluxe set menu which comes with the salmon truffle, HYE, uni-scallop, double t, and wagyu hand rolls. I usually prefer a straightforward fish/rice/nori, but I really like the way the flavors are paired and mixed here. The pacing of the rolls is excellent, with enough time for conversation in between but not so much that you're left wondering when the next roll will come out. My one qualm would be the quality of the seaweed since I like a little more structural integrity to my rolls, but overall really enjoyed the food and the experience, and would come back here again. Shout out to our chef, Felix, for the beautifully crafted hand rolls and our waiter, David, for the excellent service and overall immaculate vibes.

Food: unbelievably good and plentiful. I had to try their set menu Lux 3 Hand Rolls: The H.Y.E. Roll (yellowtail truffle hand roll) is hands down the best yellowtail roll I've ever had. Trust me and them on this one, you will be addicted and come back just for this one. It's amazing. The Salmon Truffle was great too. In my opinion the type of truffle they used in this roll takes a way from the salmon taste (I'm a salmon girl!). It could've used a bit more saltiness to it. But that's just me. The Negi Toro was great too but again, they both pale in comparison to the H.Y.E. Roll. That was my first visit. I loved the portions too. The more the merrier!!! Second visit: Sooo excited to come back and have that taste again! Sooo great yes still loving that yellowtail, this time the yellowtail ratio to rice was a bit smaller but maybe that was just me. It was still amazing. The chef recommended the double T and omg there's my other favorite! Of course delicious truffle and negi toro is the perfect pair. I had to order the regular salmon and the salmon quality is perfection so I found my perfect combo! FYI: this place has a lot of unique dishes and I'm sure they're delish. I'm not an uni girl but judging by the quality of everything else, you will not be disappointed. The price is higher than your regular sushi joint, but they are not your regular sushi joint. They are exquisite. And now they are my favorite.

Oh MY these handrolls are so THICK - totally worth the price! We came here for a quick take out since we were starving and wanted something special but easy. We ordered the 6-set handroll, and it was divine. Much larger than I expected They had it ready in about 10 min, and was super fresh. Naturally, with any takeout version of what needs to be eaten fresh, the seaweed was no longer dry and crispy, but it did not detract from the tastiness of the roll. My favorite was definitely the Negi Toro and Blue Crab. The 6-roll set included: - Salmon - Blue Crab - Yellowtail - Negi Toro - Spicy Tuna - Amberjack This location is in a plaza, with few parking spaces available. Luckily, we went at a random time on a Sunday, so it wasn't a problem.

Came here for a light dinner with some friends to catch up and we really likeed the ambiance. The lighting was warm and the setting was intimate. It wasn't super packed on a friday night at 8pm so that was great. We all order the 5 hand roll set ($29) with Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Aberjack, Yellowtail, and Ume-Shiso. The salmon was super buttery and melt in your mouth. The spicy tuna was perfectly seasoned. The yellowtail was also very buttery and fresh. The amberjack was just okay since I feel like the flavor could have been better paired with something additional instead of just amberjack. The last piece which is the umes shiso was definitely there as a palate cleanser after the meal. All of my friends could barely eat half of it. The ume was just too sour and overpowering. If you like sour foods I think you would like it but I wouldn't recommend it. Comparing this to other hand roll bars like rol hand roll and kazunori. I feel like other spots really toast their seaweed better since the seaweed here was more chewy than crispy. They also cut their pieces of fish here thick similar to size of poke. I loved the quality of the fish but the texture could have been better. Their flavors were nothing special either just some yuzu and soy sauce as well as hot oil for the spicy tuna for some of the fish. Overall I think this place definitely has potential for the the quality of their ingredients but compared to other hand roll bars in Los Angeles it isn't my go to.

One of the best sushi spot in the valley in my opinion! I love how friendly they are and attentive. Even though I have yet to dine there so this review is based off take out orders, I enjoy coming in and seeing the place. The place is clean and looks high-end but its affordable and makes you feel good being there. Every time I order take-out, they always write a sweet note on the order. I think its so thoughtful. The rolls are absolutely delicious, I can eat about 5-6 but in all honesty maybe more as how good they are. I recently tried the 6 Hand Roll Set, which includes (Salmon, Blue Crab, Spicy Tuna, Amberjack, Negi Toro, Yellowtail) They were all so tasty! I think I'll be getting that from now on. My go-to orders though are usually the blue crab handroll, salmon truffle, spicy tuna and salmon. There is just so many and I wish I can try them all. Parking can get tricky as its located on a busy street with a a lot more businesses so be mindful of that.

We ordered 2 boxes of the commonly ordered 6 types of hand rolls with soy paper, and every single one was worse than the next. They included 3 packets of soy sauce for 13 hand rolls. Rice to protein ratio was more rice, lacking flavor, and they forgot to include Wasabi. Food tasted very bland. After noting my previous experience, Mina immediately reached out to understand what went wrong & how she can rectify the situation. She was very genuine and cared because she wanted to improve their service. She offered a replacement meal when it's convenient for me and she was very professional.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! We went on a Tuesday night, no line, and got great recommendations from our waiter. I got the Lux 3 Handroll set and it was so delicious, especially the Salmon Truffle. I added on the Sake Jalepeño. I recommend everything! Come hungry. Wish I could have sampled everything on the menu but we'll have to come back. All the staff were very friendly and helpful!

Cool little spot! Feels like you're eating at a type of michelin star restaurant with how attentive the staff are towards you. The rolls were good and filling. I liked the variety of the menu too! The fish felt really fresh. I'd definitely visit again.

TL:DR - Good fish, good prices, weird part of town My fiance was craving some hand rolls and The Bar came up as a choice. A lot of other hand roll places don't allow you to order hand rolls to go, but The Bar did and that was the deciding factor for us to go there. They have a parking lot right next to the restaurant but it's not very big, so go early. The surrounding area kind of feels a little run down and odd to have a fancy looking sushi spot, so if you were hoping to take a walk after dinner or stroll around, this isn't the place to go. We ordered the 6 piece hand roll set, it comes with salmon, blue crab, spicy tuna, amberjack, negitoro, and yellow tail. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hand rolls were really REALLY good! Maybe it's because we picked them up just as they were made, so the nori was still crispy, and the rice warm. Or maybe it's the fact that all the fish tasted fresh. So what makes a fish taste fresh? For me it's the clarity of flavor. When I bite into a piece of fish there is a specific flavor that is embodied in each type. Salmon has a creamy oily flavor that has a hint of sweetness. When it's old, the flavor is muddled by like a sourness and a dullness that I can only describe as gray. These hand rolls felt like I was tasting what 20/20 vision would look like. Super clean flavors that allowed the fish flavors to shine through. There wasn't much sauce at all, but it didn't need it. Overall really good food and for the price I thought it was comparable to other hand roll spots!

my friend & i tried set menus, i had 5 & they had 6. both included amberjack & that was a new and pleasant experience for us. we also ordered some rolls a la carte & they def stood out the most. i ordered the hye & they had the meiji truffle roll.

Great service, high quality seafood ingredients, and tons of yummy uni and truffle options. Loved the salmon truffle so much I ordered it again, and I loved the Blue Crab. The uni and scallop combo is great too. Pricing isn't bad for the quantity but they need to up their rice game if they want to come close to KazuNori. Their rice is too thick and al dente and not as flavorful/vinegar-y so it feels like grocery store sushi rice rolls which shouldn't touch wagyu, Negitoro, or uni. If you're going for this price point, it would make a big difference to improve the rice.

Probably the best takeout sushi i have ever had. i ordered through UberEats and not only did it come extremely fast it also held up incredibly well. I ordered the 6 piece handroll and 4 cut rolls - my fav was the scallops and the blue crab! for the quality the price is beyond fair. I would highly recommend it because if its this good delivered it will be even better at the actual restaurant.

Pros: Easy parking (lot), empty at 3p, pretty space Cons: It's not Kazu Nori and I found a piece of wrapper plastic in one of my rolls. Sadly the rolls are flavorless. The rice isn't true sushi rice. The fish is cubed and really cold, which zaps a lot of flavor. And the quality seems more like poke bar fish. In a city with such great sushi options, this is a flop. The service is fine and pleasant. The sushi guy isn't conversational but he knows the name of each roll. Sadly won't be back.

Excellent service and great food! The ambiance is very modern and inviting. I tried the most expensive menu item and it was very good. They give to a very generous amount of toro and uni with the C.U.T hand roll. The caviar was good but could have used just a tad more. I also tried their blue crab hand roll (so good I forgot to take a pic!). This is probably better than KazuNori's crab - It tasted very fresh. This was a quick mid day snack on a Tuesday afternoon- but I'll be back again for dinner. I'm excited to try their Lux set hand roll menu next.

Believe it or not, the best sushi restaurants aren't all on sushi row along Ventura Blvd. If you're looking for quality hand rolls, I highly recommend to try The Bar by Seabutter. This restaurant is located inside a shopping plaza here in Studio City on Moorpark/Tujunga. There is plenty of free parking and because they just opened this past Summer, it's still a hidden gem...for now. When my wife and I recently went, it was not busy and we were seated immediately. The decor of the restaurant is minimal yet beautiful, there are about 20 seats inside a dome with the chefs making fresh sushi right in the center. You can choose the option of a set menu but you have to splurge and try one (or two) of their original hand rolls. The H.Y.E is minced yellowtail belly with truffle and sea salt. However the main event was of course the toro-uni. This hand roll melts in your mouth and reminded me why sushi is my comfort food.

Love the design of the space and the tastes of the hand rolls. The sets are a good price and the variety in the set is nice. The ume (plum) is one of my favorite, but an acquired taste. Wagyu bowl was good but very small - like an appetizer. Like a taco, lots fell out when I bit into it, but it might be a personal issue. Small parking lot next to the building and bathrooms in the building. The space is small, but I came without a reservation, and was able to be seated. Staff was nice and asked about my day. Manager? was highly participatory and inspected the making process and the meals that went out.

Pretty good! A little pricey but you get to watch the chefs make each roll. I'd recommend 5-6 to get full. I'm sure it's much more chaotic on a busy night, but we got lucky because it wasn't too packed. Server was very nice though.

Ample parking and seating when we came Friday afternoon. They have a parking lot next to them. If you decide to street park make sure the meter is good because we saw a bunch of cars get ticketed right outside. Every roll was delicious. A little bit on the saucy and saltier side than I would prefer, but I am more of the person that really likes to taste the fish. The appetizers were also good and fresh. I got the highest level tasting based on someone else's review and definitely recommend it. Lots of uni and truffle and wagyu and Toro.

Ever since we started having dates nights at home during Covid, we're always on the lookout for take out sushi to join our rotation. I'd wanted to try the hand rolls by seabutter forever and I was extremely glad we pulled the trigger. All of the fish was super fresh and the specialty rolls created a unique flavor profile. In my world, truffle makes everything better, so having truffle in the roll was divine. I'd look forward to trying the rolls on site so we could both have the non cut rolls and the wagu!!

I am SO glad I found this place! I used to go to KazuNori all the time, but one day it was just so insanely packed, I came here! Thank GOODNESS. Everything is SO fresh- the Amberjack is my favorite handroll. The "spicy" ones are chunks of FRESH fish! (Compared to Kazunori where it's ground up fish). They truly don't skimp here! The servers are so friendly & the chefs at the bar are as well! I can't get enough of their Wagyu Don! Last time I was there I ordered TWO. It's Japanese Wagyu, so it's definitely worth the pricier price point! I'll for SURE be a regular here!

My friend and I came for dinner on a Sunday night around 6pm and were seated immediately. The layout is pretty cool as the sushi bar is in a circle with the chefs in the middle. Great spot for a small group or for a date night. We both ordered the 6-Handroll set ($35) that comes with Salmon, Blue Crab, Spicy Tuna, Amber Jack, Negi Toro, and Yellowtail. Overall, the quality was decent and price was fair, but definitely not comparable to other handroll restaurants I've tried. My favorites were the Amber Jack that comes with a tangy yuzu flavor, and the Negi Toro that melted in my mouth. unfortunately, I really did not enjoy the Blue Crab roll as it was too wet of a consistency and immediately made the seaweed completely soggy. Service could have been more attentive, we had empty water glasses and needed to flag down the one server for more ginger. The space was modern and clean, and there is a parking lot behind the shop.

Handrolls are large, but unfortunately not good. The cuts of fish are clumsy and chunky, but most importantly, not the freshest. The fish was bland. The rice is also drenched in sesame oil. I like sesame oil, but it's incredibly unnecessary (unless you're making kimbap). Pricing on the rolls are pretty much the same as other handroll bars, but the DineLa option seemed like a total rip off. Service is interesting. I think they just want to get you in and out. There is ZERO pacing on the rolls. You get them very quickly which is bad because the nori gets soggy if you don't eat the roll immediately. They don't allow substitutions either so idk what people with allergies are able to do. The ambience is nice and clean though. Like most handroll bars, you'll be sitting very close to people when it's busy. Music choice is a bit questionable for what is supposed to be Japanese dining. Parking was ok. It's in a plaza, and there was such ample parking on a weekend because no store in that plaza was getting much business in general.

The staff here is super friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. It's the perfect neighborhood spot for a quick bite. I always order the 3 pc- salmon, tuna, and yellowtail (all spicy). It never disappoints!

The food is delicious. The hand rolls are amazing and the staff are all so very attentive. Restaurant is top of my list. This is a must try!

My boyfriend and I enjoy the other sea butter location near Beverly Hills so we were excited to see the spot open near us in the valley. The inside looks very clean and modern seating is in one big circle. They have some sets that it seemed like most people were ordering, but I wasn't too hungry so just got a regular salmon roll for six dollars and an uni scallop which came out to about $11. The uni was so tasty and fresh. Overall they have a lot of premium rolls that you wouldn't find at Kazunori but I think for the more basic rules it is pretty comparable!

I stumbled across this place on Yelp ... just browsing for sushi spots. I'm so glad I did! I came on a week day and it was not crowded at all. I Can see the wait being long since it's a small intimate type of setting. The ambiance was nice with low music playing in the background. The sushi rolls come out fast....soon as I was done, another one came. The grade of sushi was fresh (yellowtail and blue crab were my favorite). The parking was not terrible (street parking, small parking lot and another small overflow parking lot). I feel like parking might be harder on weekends. Give this place a try if you love sushi hand rolls!

I liked the handrolls but I didn't love it. We went on a rainy Thursday so we were seated right away. Loved the circular bar eating area around the chefs so you could see everything. The service was just ok my friend got her first handroll first and then the chef gave about 4 others to offer parties before giving her a second one while I still hadn't recently be my first of 5. The time between handroll with the various parties was strange and there were not at capacity. Maybe a little more than 50% full. He lost count and kinda argued with me saying I had eaten 4 but so far only had 3. He did end up giving me the 4th although he thought that was my last one. We also got the wagyu uni which was super flavorful. I did like the fact that they do not put as much rice in each handroll so you can really taste the freshness of the fish and don't get full too quickly.

We went for valentines and I wish it was better. It is great for people who are new to sushi or raw fish. Ambience is clean but no man will be full eating 5-7 rolls. The waygu bowl is tiny. I probably won't go back.

Amazing hand rolls! I got the deluxe set and they were all fantastic. The Wagyu with uni was so good and the negitoro handroll was so fresh. All of the sushi was quality and I'd definitely come back again!

Super excited for a new sushi spot in Studio City! My husband and I decided to stop by for dinner and give this place a shot! We have never tried its sister restaurant Seabutter, so we weren't sure what to expect. Seating was limited to a bar with around 20 - 25 seats. We dined on a Sunday just before 6pm and it was relatively full, but cleared out about 15 minutes into our visit. There were plenty of staff so service was consistent at the roll bar and for drinks/water refills. We went with the 6 roll combo, hamachi jalapeño, seaweeed salad, salmon truffle handroll and uni scallop hand roll. The standouts for the rolls were the toro, yellowtail and amber jack. Overall the food was fresh and portions were just right. The salmon truffle was good, but being that it was seared - the flavor was a bit off. The scallop uni was delightful! It was a perfect balance of spice, salt, and sweetness. The hamachi jalapeño from the sashimi style portion of the menu, was definitely a standout. The flavor was insane! This is a great spot for date night or to meet up with a friend. The value was pretty good in comparison to similar concept restaurants like Yunomi, Kazu Nori, etc in the LA area. Two areas of feedback: I was hoping for more flavor/richness/creaminess from the blue crab hand roll - this is usually my favorite role at other hand roll spots. I'm hoping as time passes they can work out some common issues that come with a new opening! My other feedback was the pacing between the rolls was a bit quick - it seemed like the staff were waiting for us to finish so they could give us the next role. It wasn't very busy once we got the remainder of our food, so I understand why they were being so attentive! I'm looking forward to going back and continuing to work my way through the menu!

This restaurant has quickly become a family favorite. The food is fantastic and the service is always top tier. Especially David - who goes above and beyond to make the experience memorable - even adding a few extras for our 10 month old which are greatly appreciated by all. Looking forward to coming back soon!

This is by far the best hand roll spot in LA. The food is great, service is fire, super intimate space and is usually never busy. The inside design is really nice and I love the wood interior. The chefs are usually super super cool too and sometimes bless you with random caviar is you're lucky haha! 10/10 recommend. Try the things on the bottom part of the menu, it's elite

Every single piece of food coming out of here is amazing! But the service is immaculate!!! Very attentive and beyond great customer service. My new favorite people and place!

My wife and I both ordered 6 hand roll sets with an additional scallop roll. Highlights were the salmon, spicy tuna, and amber jack, which game with a kind of yuzu glaze. Unfortunately the other rolls were misses. Negi toro and yellowtail were flavorless, and were covered in what I'm guessing was sesame oil, which caused the roll flavor/texture to be best described as "wet." Blue crab was way too salty, and almost had a consistency of something taken from a can. While service was excellent, pricing/overall execution would lead us to get hand rolls elsewhere

We usually go to Kazu Nori Studio City but decided to try this place out. It's a great spot with high quality hand rolls and some really unique specialty ones. They are a little slow to seat people as the specialty rolls take longer to make, so we luckily snagged a seat before it got busy. Expect to wait during peak dinner time. We ordered the 6-roll set, great deal for $35. Comes with salmon, spicy tuna, amberjack, yellowtail, blue crab, and negi toro. All were really good and flavorful. For the specialties we tried the salmon truffle, uni scallop and double-t. Those were all amazing and highly recommend trying some of these - this made it stand out from Kazu. Service was pretty good, not as attentive as they could be but not bad. They have a parking lot in front and back.

I'd say the fish was really good on most of the hand rolls in the package, this place is very similar to Kazunori but cannot compare unfortunately. Was super excited to try another hand roll place but I guess I'm a bit biased. Sea butter hand rolls are a bit thicker which may be a good or bad thing depending on the person. The inside has potential but the lights fully on takes away from the intimate dinner experience and having people wait around and watch you while you eat isn't that great. Service was good we got sat quickly and they took our order and we got the rolls pretty fast. For the price of what we spent I don't think we'd come back again but thankful for the experience just wasn't for us.
