The 22 Best Restaurants In Notting Hill - London - The Infatuation

"The Barbary is a long, sleek restaurant built for seductive optimists with a thing for saffron and triple-digit bottles of Sancerre. Before you know it, you’re feeling as hot as the doe-eyed couple next to you scooping up spiced dips with pillowy flatbread. The Southern Europe-meets-North African menu—yellowtail with brown butter, sea bass crudo, miso tahini—lends itself to stylish catch-ups and sexy little date nights." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The Barbary Notting Hill - Review - Notting Hill - London - The Infatuation

"We’ve been claiming that tahini is sexy ever since a hummus lid was located in one of our pillowcases, but The Barbary in Notting Hill has taken our personal mission one step further with this long, sleek restaurant seemingly built for seductive optimists with a thing for saffron and triple-digit bottles of Sancerre. It hums with a confidence that’s contagious and before you know it, you’re feeling as hot as the doe-eyed New York couple sitting next to you and scooping up an assortment of spiced dips with a pillowy flatbread like a conductor in an operatic meze musical. photo credit: The Barbary photo credit: Mickaël A. Bandassak photo credit: The Barbary The Southern Europe-meets-North African menu is something of a show-off too—miso tahini with an earthy umami tang, razor-thin slices of yellowtail swimming in a rich lake of brown butter sauce, and a sea bass crudo so citric that we started to suspect we might be on the receiving end of a lime juice cleaning hack. You’ll need to order several things to leave full, but between the allure of the slick banquette and huge navy booths primed for cosying up with your favourite Gucci enthusiast, it’s ideal for a stylish catch-up. If you’re here for a sexy little date night, ask for one of the pink velvet stools by the open flames in the kitchen—because when a restaurant is able to make you feel this good-looking, you should be willing to momentarily ignore the siren call of lumbar support. Food Rundown video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Moroccan Cigars A party snack du jour for when we inherit millions and millions of pounds from a currently unknown benefactor. They have a perfect filo crunch and the salty, soft cod filling goes a treat with the yoghurt dip. photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Brown Butter Yellowtail Sashimi, Pistachio We haven’t felt this moved by a little fish since Nemo’s dad really sorted out his parenting style. The rich, near-butter flavour of the yellowtail combined with the thin pool of silky brown butter makes for a surprisingly luxurious serving of sashimi. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Harissa Beef Tartare, Broad Bean Cream Beef tartare traditionalists, this is not for you. Move along, we’ll see you knee-deep in raw meat somewhere else. Mostly, it tastes of harissa but scoop it up with some flatbread and you’ve got a great, tangy bite with just enough spice to get your tongue jiving." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

London’s New Restaurant Openings

"With an already popular spot in Covent Garden, Middle Eastern restaurant The Barbary has opened a second location in Notting Hill. You can expect more of the same dishes like scallop aguachile, galician octopus, and harissa lamb cutlets at this Westbourne Grove spot. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

We had an amazing time at Barbary! The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved the idea of sharing dishes. The only minor hiccup was that we didn’t receive our main course on time, but the manager was super helpful and quickly rectified the situation. He even offered us dessert on the house as a gesture of goodwill. We paired our meal with a couple of martinis and later with a lovely red wine, which was the perfect complement to the food. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

We had dinner here last Saturday. The food was exquisite. Such a gamut of tastes. Staff were very attentive, welcoming and helpful. All set in a very tasteful, warm and very comfortable interior. Enjoyed our dinner very much! Will definitely come back.

Oh my god.. such delicious food. THE GARLIC AND ANCHOVIE BREAD WAS THE BEST IV'E EVER TASTED.. I DREAM OF THAT BREAD , ITS LIKE A SOFT PILLOW RADIATING WITH UMAMI LOL. All of the chefs work so hard for perfection. Portions are small, mutton rolls were a disappointment, would like bigger mains and service was a bit slow. Overall, I would recommend and go back

The Barbary Notting Hill – A Vivid Culinary Experience in London’s Booming Dining Scene Tucked away on one of the trendiest streets in London, The Barbary Notting Hill is not just another new opening – it’s a bold statement in a neighborhood that’s quickly becoming one of the capital’s most dynamic culinary hubs. With Notting Hill experiencing a boom in wine bars and high-quality restaurants, this spot stands out – and not just for its food. Atmosphere & Design: Refined, Lively, Memorable The design is striking yet inviting. There’s a natural warmth to the interiors – hand-crafted textures, soft lighting, and a layout that balances intimacy with vibrancy. The open kitchen setup offers diners at the bar an immersive experience, perfect for food lovers who enjoy watching the action unfold. At the heart of the space sits a sleek central bar, surrounded by well-spaced tables that comfortably accommodate groups. Whether you’re after a quiet dinner or a social evening with friends, the ambiance is effortlessly adaptable. Food: Flavorful, Inventive, and Well-Priced The menu draws inspiration from the Barbary Coast – a fusion of Mediterranean and North African influences – and is centered around fire-led cooking and bold spice blends. Dishes are beautifully presented, with ingredients that clearly speak of quality. Particular highlights include the house-made merguez, chargrilled chicken with coffee rub and tahina, and the freshly baked flatbreads, perfect for scooping up dips and sauces. Each dish feels thoughtfully composed, bringing together texture, seasoning, and balance. And don’t overlook the desserts – the strawberry one is light and deeply satisfying, so much so that ordering a second portion becomes a real temptation. Service: Warm and Impeccably Run The service is attentive yet relaxed – the staff know the menu well and guide you through it with genuine enthusiasm. Their knowledge extends to the well-curated wine list too, which features over 250 labels ranging from natural producers to more classic vintages. Verdict: A Must-Visit in West London The Barbary Notting Hill offers exceptional food and hospitality at a very fair price point. It’s an ideal representation of what makes London’s dining scene so exciting right now: cultural richness, creative cooking, and accessible excellence. If you find yourself in Notting Hill – whether you’re local or just passing through – this is one restaurant that deserves a spot at the top of your list.

I knew I was in for something special. The warm ambiance, inviting aromas, and attentive service set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. I started with Appetizer which was beautifully plated and packed with fresh, bold flavors. The balance of spices and textures made every bite a delight. For the main course, I chose Main Dish and it was nothing short of perfection. The tenderness of the meat/vegetables, To finish, I indulged Dessert a heavenly creation that perfectly balanced sweetness with a hint of spice. The combination of warm and cold elements. Each dish showcased authenticity, technique, and a deep understanding of flavors. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or simply appreciate fine dining,must-visit. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an unforgettable meal.

Came here with my family while they were visiting me over the past two weeks. We had a great time, though the service was a bit slow :) Glad they have the room temperature of the sparkling water. I really enjoyed the lamb chops and the octopus dish, definitely coming back for them! Not a big fan for other dishes so far, maybe need to try others next time. That is why 4 stars ⭐️ Great ambiance, by the way. A good spot for a date though.

The restaurant is a beautiful room with lots of glass and mirrors and lovely lighting - all together a very pleasing space. Music at just the right level. Service was very good with explanations of dishes where needed. All the dishes were good but nothing was exceptional except perhaps the breads. The main dishes and sides were also very small for the price
