We dropped in one day just as they unlocked the doors @11:30am My friend ordered the wings with a side of onion rings. I ordered The Barn House Burger with fries. Everything had great flavor. We both really enjoyed our meals and washed them down with ice-cold beer. We didn't have to wait a long time for our food, and our server was really nice and checked on us a couple of times. The reason I gave the experience 4 stars is because my 1/2 lb. burger patty was cooked medium. I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. If she had asked, I would have told her well done. Next time, I'll know to speak up when I place my order. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this spot for a casual lunch. My friend and her husband returned a couple of weeks later for dinner. They ordered the BBQ Beef Ribs Plate and said they were tender and delicious.

Excellent BBQ. The Family pack x2 with the combination Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs and Chicken was wonderful. The sides of beans, Mac and Cheese and collard greens was very good. There was 9 of us and we had lots of food left over for take home. Natalie, our server was excellent and very helpful and attentive and gave us great service.

It's OK. I was wondering if the previous reviews were submitted by employees or friends and family. After today's visit, I'm thinking they were. This is not 5 star worthy. 4 star if you somehow get lucky and don't run into any major issues. Here's my opinion: Some say it's better than Phil's BBQ. No it's not. I know this place just opened a week ago, and they still need to get their stuff together. A little disorganized with the food delivery. Not so sure what's up with the non-functional bar area. Music kept cutting out, which means it was often quiet in the restaurant since the TVs are muted. Food seemed to take a while to come out, even though the place was half full. I say half full, because the outside seating was closed. I'm not very picky when it comes to restaurants. If you have decent food, I'll let you know. I won't write a bad review just to write one. We had five different meals, and none of them were good enough to tell others about. Everything was just okay and not anything that would draw me back to this restaurant. The white paint left over from previous Italian restaurant does not go with this BBQ place. They do have several beers I like, so that's a plus. Overall, it was OK. Food was OK. I'll go back in a few months just to see if they make any improvements.

You smell it before you see the restaurant regardless of the wind direction. The smell intensifies the closer you get. For a first experience, a few things were ordered. The Trio Tacos are incredible! A side of sliders, nachos, and a half rack of pork ribs finished the lunch menu for this family of five. The pork literally fell right off the bone. An idea of another visit is in the works due to having to try a menu item called, "secret burger." If they only had some home made sweet tea to go with it. However, there is Stone Brewery on tap.

I had fun coming with my family. We were confused by the theme of motor oil/car related things on one wall, flower wall in game room, modern deer heads on another & cowboys on another. We felt like they weren't sure what country theme to go with yet. I loved that the tvs weren't too loud, so we could have a conversation too. We just wished the Oscar's were on one screen for night 😅 The staff was really nice & one woman read out the sides to my uncle who couldn't see that well immediately after he asked instead of pointing to a menu. It was nice to see! For the food, my family seemed to like their food as everything was gone or near gone, but for my Garden Veggie Burger, I wasn't too thrilled. My bottom bun was soggy on the bottom, and it fell apart when I picked up my burger. I ended up taking the bread off completely & just making it a lettuce wrap. I'm just not a bbq person for meat, I prefer seafood. Hope more meals come out soon. They have a game room also, but their machine wasn't working for coins. Up front, they said they were out of change for day. It was Sunday after all, but I was kinda bummed until my friend had 4 quarters in her car for the pool table.

Dave HUNGRRRY!!! I stopped into the newly open BBQ spot in Lemon Grove and ordered the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. The pulled pork was delicious, and the onion rings were crispy. Both of them were very good. I'll be back! I was not hungry after my meal, left very satisfied in every aspect! 😂

Food was 10/10! Odd flex but their coleslaw is some of the best I’ve had.

Google
Great food, service, and atmosphere at an affordable price. We had the beef ribs, pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, fries, and onion rings. Cannot say enough good things about the beef and pork. Tender, moist, and fell off the bone. The fries were hot and crispy. Great selection of wine and beer. Don't forget to try the smoked cheesecake! It was delicious too! We will definitely go back!

Yelp
We ended up ordering a barbecue platter, a mocktail version of a margarita, and glass of beer. There is also a game room where you can shoot pool, play foosball, etc. while you wait for your order if you're bored haha. My mocktail was yummy and hubby liked his beer as well. The platter was huge! It came with ribs, sliders, sweet potato fries, sausage, onion rings, chicken, and a brisket sandwich! We ended up having leftovers, but everything I tried was delicious. They even have soccer playing on their TV's so that was a plus!

Yelp
3.5 stars Came and got beef ribs, pork ribs and smoked pork rib tips, onion rings, fries and beans. The plates come with either 2 small sides or 1 large side. I absolutely loved the beef ribs very meaty, flavorful and tender. It of course came with sauce but it was not necessary but if you want more flavor it definitely adds to it. The beans were also awesome, theres meat in it incase you're vegetarian. It almost taste like chili. It came with a pickle which was nice to eat between bites to cleanse the palate and provide a difference in texture. I wasn't such a fan of the pork ribs, they were indeed fall off the bone tender but the texture was off; if I had to guess I think it was boiled before being smoked. The fries were tasty as they had a thin battered coating to them which made them more crunchy. They went well with the ranch dressing. The onion rings were also very crispy and had a thin layer of batter. The pork rib tips were a little better, I recognized the cartilage in them, it's what I call spare ribs. Guess its the part of the last few ribs that don't have bones. They were pretty good, they surprisingly came with fries too so that was very filling with all 3 dishes. This could probably just be a meal in itself. Theres lots of parking and inside seating. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. You order at the register and get a number and they bring it to your table. I highly recommend the Beef ribs and smoked beans

Yelp
Place is huge.  Cool game room in the back.  I tried the 4 bone beef rib with fries and onion rings.  Onion rings had a crunchy panko style batter.  Lots of fried batter flavor with a mild onion flavor.  Reminds me of Jack in the Box onion rings.  Fries were crispy and had a nice seasoned flavor.  Beef ribs were falling off the bone tender.  Liked the smoky flavor from being smoked in almond and mesquite wood.  Liked the sweet sauce caramelized on the ribs. 2nd visit I tried a rack of pork ribs with sweet potato fries.  Sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and had mild sweet potato flavor.  Rack of pork ribs was a huge meal and I only ate half.  Smoky aroma and flavor from smoking was mouth watering.  There was also some sweet brown sugar and molasses caramelized on the ribs that resulted in a delicious flavor.  Pork was juicy and fall off the bone tender. Website says they make Kansas City style bbq here.  The only other place I know of making Kansas City style bbq is Kansas City Bbq.  This place has better ribs but I prefer the onion straws they had at Kansas City Bbq.  Beef ribs were very good but the pork ribs were among the best I've had.  Loved the smoky flavor from smoking in almond and hickory wood. Staff was friendly and orders didn't take too long.

Yelp
Stopped by to play some pool and grab a bite. Very happy we stopped by. The service was great. Very welcoming and made sure we had a good time Lots of room for big groups. They have a new game room lots of activities to hangout and watch a game. Very well decorated. I ordered a non-alcoholic watermelon margarita, very refreshing. We also grabbed food, I ordered the tacos and they were all very yummy. Came with a pickle which was interesting. Parking was easy they are located in a plaza with a lot of parking.

Yelp
Did you know smoked pickled onions was a thing in real life? It is here! I had the rib tips, which were cooked and sauced to perfection. There was a little bark with caramelized sauce, then the unctuous fat that's soft and pairs just right with the smoked meat. The sauce was a bit thinner than most of us are used to, like Kansas City style - a little sweet, smoky, and maybe some kick. However, the sauce was packed with flavor. The tips were great, but the star on the plate was those smoked and pickled onions... they were transformative! I've never had such flavor in a pickled anything; I could've had a whole side dish plate of just that! My husband picked up our meal (his onion rings were fire!) and said the staff was welcoming and really nice. They also offer a few wines, cocktails, and beer - on tap and in bottles. What I'm really looking forward to is trying the smoked cheesecake - what? I know! Try it for yourself...

Yelp
The Barn House BBQ has taken over a building that housed two previous Italian eateries that didn't survive for long. The location was a little odd on Broadway in Lemon Grove. If you were coming from the west, then the GPS recommended to overshoot the address before exiting SR-94 and looping back. The business does have a sizeable dedicated on-site parking lot which was a bonus. In a corner of the lot was a smoker that was cooking the meats low and slow. To be honest, the setup looked more appropriate for a BBQ joint/roadhouse than an Italian restaurant. Their website claims to serve authentic Kansas City BBQ. To me, that means burnt ends which they call Smoked Pork Rib Tips here. What caught my attention though was the BBQ Beef Ribs Plate. The price for two bones (aka brontosaurus ribs) was a very affordable $20.95 while four bones set you back $36.95. Included was a choice of two small sides or one large side. From the list of Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw Salad, Smoked Beans, Sweet Potato Fries, French Fries, Onion Rings, Potato Salad, Cream of Corn, and Bacon Mashed Potato, my two picks were the beans and mashed potato. An aluminum tray contained the two ribs and two links of kielbasa sausage which I added for $8.95. The sides were placed in separate foam cups for the takeout order. The beef ribs were coated with salt and pepper and smoked to tender perfection. There was no reason to apply any sauce, they were that good. The sausage was decent but nowhere near the level of the ribs. As for the sides, the potatoes were bland and needed seasoning, however you could mix the beans with them because they had plenty of smokey flavor. I can't recall another BBQ spot in town that offers a giant beef rib on the regular menu, let alone at such a great price. My five star rating for The Barn House BBQ was mainly based on that product which I will definitely come back for another round before the cost increases due to its popularity.

Yelp
This place could've had 5 stars but it's the service or lack there of for me that deters me. The food itself is really good so I'm not sure why so many low reviews or trash talking about the food. I was honestly surprised how good it was and skeptical after reading all reviews but glad I tried them out. I did order the smallest package for the 4th of July deal which was for 4 consisting of 4 hamburgers, 4 chicken tacos, 4 carne asada tacos, 8 pork ribs, 8 hot wings, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese or baked beans. I opted for the macaroni and cheese. I came in the day before to order and pay since I had a hard time hearing the girl on the phone. She was really nice and new and seemed to be manning everything as she was the only 1 out front. They need to hire more workers or have better management because for long periods of time she would be gone in the back helping out while customers stood around waiting out front. She seems overwhelmed but she seemed to handle pretty well under pressure. First of all their hours posted on their door is incorrect. I've seen a lot of people and heard that when they went it was closed since it says they open at 11am but actually don't until 2pm. You know how many customers you're losing? So she asked what time I wanted to pick up my order. I told her as soon as they opened at 2pm. Me thinking since it's a catered order and they'd be prepared for the crowds on the holiday, they would already be in the kitchen preparing for my pick up time. I was assuming once they opened they would have my order ready. Nope! I go in at 2pm and they just barely start making my order. I asked the girl how long it'd take and she said 20 mins which actually turned out to be 45-50 mins so it was closer to being done at 3pm. I asked her about it and she mentioned I only asked her what time they opened and I said no I scheduled my pick up at 2pm. If the kitchen opened at 2pm you should've told me my order couldn't be picked up until 3pm realistically then. So I waited there for almost an hour and it was so hot in there and it made me head out to our destination on July 4th super late in the day all because they opened late. I was also annoyed how there was another man who ordered a big to-go order after me on that morning since and he got his order before me. I did give benefit of doubt that maybe my order had more items. But still they need to learn time management and management skills on how to run a business since it seems to be a long wait for food even for people dining in. My order was supposed to include potato salad but they gave me fries instead. I didn't find out until I got to my location and didn't want to make a big deal by calling to complain since I was already over when with the wait. It was kind of weird how the order of fries were a whole small aluminum tray but the order of macaroni cheese was literally a tiny container. Overall all the food was good but not worth the long waits.

Yelp
We are visiting from out of town, and honestly, we just wanted some decent bbq. This came up. We walked in, and there was only one other table of people, caution sign #1, the doors were open, it was HOT, and there was no music playing or ambiance at all! We sat down and had to move tables because the chairs wiggled so much like they were about to fall apart. We saw a kids' menu online, but they don't have it on their menu in the restaurant. The kids get taken care of. We tried to order the smoky meatballs, but they didn't have any. We tried to get collared greens, but they didn't have any. My kid wanted ranch with her chicken. They didn't have any. My husband ordered fish and chips, the fish was RAW, and while the menu states they are served with tartar sauce, we were told they don't carry it. I asked for a side salad since there were both greens, and they came out with a full-size platter of cesar salad. The smoked beans were in no way smoked. Service was lackluster, we won't be back, we won't tell our friends that live here.

Yelp
This review is strictly about the food. Customer service was excellent! We were greeted right when we walked in. The restaurant was pretty empty with a few customers that should've told me something, but I wanted to support the new local business and sometimes you never know. We ordered the brisket plate which came with two sides. The plate included 1 pound of brisket. The brisket was fatty and had a lot of barbecue sauce on it, not much flavor. I prefer it smoked with no sauce maybe sauce on the side. The barbecue sauce wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The macaroni and cheese for one of my sides was not cheesy at all. The onion rings are pretty good. We also got a Caesar salad with pulled chicken. The chicken was smothered with barbecue sauce which is not my preference. And the Caesar salad had croutons that were probably from a store-bought bag. They have a huge parking lot which is a plus but I probably will not be returning.

Yelp
Located in Lemon Grove across from St. John's Church. Parking is no issue at all! We arrived about an hour and a half before closing time on a Friday night. I was afraid we were going to get the left overs of the day but, to our surprise, the food was AMAZING! It was surprising dead for a Friday night. There were only two other customers when we entered the restaurant. Customer service was ok, the ladies were welcoming. They offer indoor as well as patio seating. We ordered: Pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and onion rings - good. Onion rings were huge and crispy! Pull pork pizza - delish Burger - just ok Beef rib plate with sweet potato fries and mac - Beef ribs were huge and fall of the bone deliciousness! Mac was creamy but not strong in cheese flavor and sweet potato fries were good. Highly recommended over the pork ribs. Pork rib plate - good If in the area definitely stop by and give them a try. I've seen in some photos/reviews the beef ribs were much smaller and some complained of them being tough. I am SO HAPPY that was not the case for me! Mines were dinosaur size and so tender the meat just fell off the bone! As long as I keep getting the same style beef ribs and they keep it consistent, we will be back multiple times a week for our beef rib fix!! I didn't explore the whole lay out of the restaurant but, in other reviews I saw they have some video games and billiards available.

Yelp
We came to try this Bbq place called THE BARN HOUSE BBQ . I wasn't ready to order right away 'coz it's order first at the cashier , then pay, then get a table. But with the help of the Nice young lady at the front desk, I ended up ordering a lot :) I ordered: *4 BONE BBQ RIBS PLATE with sides of onion rings and Potato Salad. *1 FULL (12 Bones) BBQ pork with sides of smoked beans and bacon mashed potato. *KIALBASA SAUSAGE *HALF CHICKEN PLATE with a side of Mac&Cheese and sweet potato fries. *WATERMELON MARGARITA I wandered around while waiting for our food and saw that they have a room where there's a Pool table, arcades, and plenty of Seating both inside and outdoors. I wasn't even done taking a pic of the place and our Food came in already :) When all of our food came, I was surprised to see how good the portions of our food were. Our favorite among our orders was the BEEF RIB, very tender and tasty . They were all so good and the meats fall off the bone, that's how soft their meats were. But I didn't like much any of the sides that we got, they were just okay But their Bbq meats, price, and portions were all good. The service was nice, all very friendly. There was also plenty of parking around. They are Pet Friendly too !

Yelp
Passing by Barn House BBQ a few times. I have been meaning to try this new bbq spot located in my neighborhood. Having gone twice since then. I am ready to give my review. First off, the location is very accessible with lots of free parking. With a raised outdoor patio, bar area and regular restaurant seating. There is plenty of seating for the masses. My first trip I dined in with the family. I had a half slab of ribs with potato salad and onion rings. They definitely don't skimp on the fries or onion rings. The batter for the onion rings was crispy perfection. The potato salad had a nice tangy flavor. The ribs themselves were very meaty and not over sauced. They actually gave you added sauce if you needed to add more. Thumbs up for the ribs. My second trip was take out. I ordered five wings served with celery, carrots and ranch dressing for an appetizer. My main was a pull pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Didn't care much for the wings which were baked not fried. They actually fell off the bone when I ate them. Not what I want in my wings but the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was amazingly good. Enough for two people. Piles of pulled pork on top of slaw sandwiched between two buns. Another winner. Eventually I will try everything on the menu. I saw a pastrami sandwich there. I believe I will be ordering that next time. As far as the restaurant. The restaurant is good sized. When people find out about this place. It won't take long for this restaurant to be packed. The food is great. Moderately priced. Large portions. The service is awesome. Very family friendly. Wine, beer on tap and bottled beer. Support local businesses especially the good ones. Barn House BBQ is one of the good ones. Give it a try. Eat here.

Yelp
Yummm!! Beef Ribs are awesome!! Service was great..definitely coming back!! We decided to try this place, after eating Mother's Day brunch across the street.. we noticed it and decided to check it out.. definitely a pleasant surprise!!

Charlotte R.

Yelp
We had some great barbecue meats here. The ribs fell right off the bone and the kielbasa was smoky and delicious. The wings are also smoked rather than deep fried, so the chicken is very tender instead of crispy. The sides we tried could use a few tweaks. The beans had a great flavor but were a little tough, and the mac and cheese needs seasoning. The fries had a perfect crunchy outside and soft interior. They serve beer and wine only here, but offer wine cocktails. I had a yummy espresso martini made with rice wine. Definitely worth a try. The service is great. They took the time to come to our table and ask what we thought of the food and how they could improve. You can tell they truly care about their business.

Yelp
Cool and comfortable atmosphere. You look at the menu, order, get a buzzer and go get your food. Self service for your drinks as well. The way the restaurant is set up, you have to cut the order line to grab your drinks and food, which makes it awkward to keep walking by and asking be to excuse you. I got the smoked turkey sandwich & beans. The sandwich was dry, the turkey was more like deli meat. Only comes with turkey + tomatoes. No cheese or lettuce. ( I won't be ordering that meal ever again. The beans are more like canned chili. My son got the chicken wings & they are the reason we will go back and try it one more time. With a few small changes, this restaurant could be a cool place but they should probably take that sandwich off the menu ( yes, it was that bad.)

Yelp
First I don't see how people can say that the food here was awful?? Today my wife and I went to try the ribs ! We ordered a two rib meal which for two people is plenty. That said we thoroughly enjoyed the ribs .They were huge with lots of meat on them and coleslaw with beans plus a small order of onion rings. The place was very clean with friendly help . They have a game room with lots of games for the kiddos. As far as I'm concerned the food was very good. That being said Phil's is still for this rib eater the best but BBQ barn house is not far behind.PS the new owners seem to have a Hispanic back ground because they are add on's like fish tacos, burritos.I'm going to try more items next time.

Yelp
Well, well... Color me pleasantly surprised! I'm writing this note with a full happy belly! The expectation of bbq I have is pretty high and this place exceeded that expectation. The pork ribs were so tender that they practically slid off the bone! The potato salad and coleslaw were amazing, even the pickled onions were phenomenal! My husband's burger was huge, and the pieces of pork belly were practically begging me to pick them off! Alas, I had to settle for eating them off of the mac and cheese... Barn House, you have two new regulars!!

Yelp
Bye-Bye Barn House! I have been a customer since opening day. I truly regarded this as a bright star in Lemon Groves future. That star has burned out. What was once an exciting alternative to BBQ in not just Lemon Grove, but also San Diego county, has become a shadow of its young self and the sun is setting fast. There have been changes in management, hours, staff, and especially the menu. 2 months ago, I would have given them 5 stars. Now, 2 stars is the best I can muster. All of the food in the beginning was delicious from the chicken to the pork and beef ribs, and all of the sides. I had several conversations with one of the owners and each time I visited little changes made things even better. The new owners have created a joke of a menu that has moved away from the smokehouse style of food to nothing but bar food that can be found anywhere. They advertise themselves as Kansas City BBQ. Yes, they still have some BBQ items, but the addition of menu items like a fish torta, TJ Nachos, Buffalo wings; as well as fish, shrimp, chicken, and carne asada tacos; fish and chips, burritos and quesadilla, leads me to believe they have never been to a true Kansas City BBQ. Hey, when I think Kansas City BBQ, I always think how about a good Fettuccine Alfredo don't you? This nothing more than a beer bar with some expensive food. If that is what you're looking for, stop on by. For me, it's Bye-Bye

Yelp
Nice clean establishment but disgusting food. Can't decide is they serve mex food or bbq and both were trash.

Yelp
Pricey Mysterious burger was a mess Food is just loaded with sauce if that but for the price not worth it
google avatar

Khrissie R.

Yelp
I was not impressed. I was looking forward to Some good barbecue in Lemon Grove and was very disappointed considering what we paid. The meat was flavorless. The tenderness was from being over boiled or something, it was almost like mushey. The barbecue sauce was nothing to brag about. I didnt care for most of what we ordered. Perhaps they were having a off day ‍ You can only make a first impression once. unfortunately Barn House BBQ did not.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this new restaurant which has been several things since we moved to Lemon Grove. I'm not sure why they decided Italian or Bbq would be a great addition since our neighborhood already had 2 great restaurants of each variety, but we decided to give it a whirl. Service is very efficient and friendly! Decor is very cute! The pulled pork sandwich ordered by my companion looked very tasty, however my choices were quite disappointing. I don't feel either item was actually smoked, grilled or bbq'd in any way. They didn't have any char, or fat rendered off. The wings were rubbery which I just can't eat. The habanero sauce was nothing like what it is supposed to be: sticky, sweet and hot. The Mac n cheese tasted like total processed cheese and the pork belly was also not cooked enough or even broiled on the exterior. Bbq is an art. A craft, not just cooking in the oven and slapping some sauce on. Hard pass for me
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Place was packed...newly open. Food was decent. Ribs were falling off the bone. The kielbasa sausage was okay. Had potato salad, Mac &cheese and smoked beans for sides. The beans weren't my cup of tea, they were hard.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
It's hard to believe the number of 5 star reviews. Makes me wonder if I was there on a bad day. My girlfriend and I ordered the pork ribs, barn house burger and mango habanero wings. All the items suffered from the same problem. They were bland as can be. If I didn't know what I had ordered, there's no way I'd identify the "mango habanero wings." They didn't taste like anything. No sweet, no heat, just no flavor at all. The ribs were tender but once again...no flavor. The burger looked beautiful when it came out, but once again...as you guessed...not an ounce of seasoning. I feel like maybe they forgot the seasoning for this batch of food. The Mac was underwhelming. Pretty noodles with some velveeta. I will say the fries and pickles were good so I'll keep it to two stars. Too bad, onto the next "BBQ" spot.

Yelp
Great place for ribs. Giant portions. Good sides. Plenty of parking. Good options for ribs

Yelp
We got the Buffalo and Barbecue wings which came out super fast, wings were crispy and both sauces were flavorful. We also got a side of Fries which were as well crispy and were salted perfectly. For our main dish we got the Pork Ribs. The ribs were juicy and falling off the bone, the sauce having a very unique taste that will leaving you wanting more. I will most definitely come back again.

Yelp
This is a new BBQ restaurant in the Lemon Grove area. My husband and I visited for the first time and we left pleased. We ordered the family combo plate (medium) so we could try a little bit of everything. The chicken and pork ribs were delicious. The beef ribs weren't terrible but they also weren't great. It definitely needed more BBQ sauce to make it better. The French fries and smoked beans were delicious. I ordered a regular margarita and it was just okay too. Your basic margarita to be honest. The food service was fairly quick. We did witness a customer ask for a refund and leave due to the wait time, maybe letting people know the wait time ahead would be helpful. The service at the register was good. We didn't have any interaction with anyone after that. Being a new restaurant spot in the community, I would have liked for there to have been more of a customer service presence. There are no waiters/waitresses unless you order an alcoholic beverage than the bartender brings it to you but other than that no one comes to your table to check-in on how you're doing or if we need anything. Both times we needed something we walked up to the front to inquire. The music was also on repeat and heard the same songs twice while we were there. There was also an annoying buzzing sound coming from the speakers. Overall, it is an okay place to go for dinner and/or when craving some Barbecue.

Yelp
The entire staff was friendly and we appreciated Alberto taking seriously the food allergies of our grandchildren. He also understood the dangers of cross-contamination. Not all restaurants care. The pork ribs were meaty and had very little fat. A lot of people were eating the burger, so we'll try that next time. And there will be a next time!! Lemon Grover's...support small business owners, especially when they live in Lemon Grove!!

Yelp
We went to this place to try their food, it's my first time to eat here, food were tasty, chicken thigh is soft and not dry, not salty too, smoked beans really good, should try it, I ordered smoked cheesecake too but haven't eat it yet, too full. Server was nice, answered all my questions and place is clean and organized, I haven't use their restroom so couldn't comment on that. Overall good, recommend to try it.

Yelp
I ordered online for pick up, I showed up to the restaurant about 15 minutes after I placed my order.it was about 5:30 PM not very many people in the restaurant at the time. Maybe they were all still in traffic. The lady behind the counter was very nice greeted with a smile. I had let her know that I placed an online order. Only after about 10 minutes, my food was done. I ordered pork rib tips and the four beef rib combo with fries. The size of the beef ribs blew me away. They were so tender and juicy full of flavor without even any sauce. It was definitely fall off the bone type of tender. The rib tips were pretty good as well nothing to write home about, but I don't regret getting them. I was a little skeptical at first after reading some of the other reviews, but I am sure glad I went in to try it for myself. I will definitely be coming back whenever I feel the craving for some BBQ!!

Yelp
Phil's BBQ move over, we have authentic dinosaur ribs in this house. 1 Rib with block of meat six inches long and 2 inches thick and wide. Juicy, not dry, good smoke flavor. Didn't even need the sauce. It's cafeteria ambiance, plastic utensils, and towels on rolls... just the basic stuff. The sides were adequate, but the star was the meat. The only other place I know of that serves those monster beef ribs is Rolling Smoke BBQ in Vegas. No other joint in town that serves beef ribs has anything comparable. I like Phil's sauce... but those ribs need it. These didn't. Total plus for me. Wife wasn't a fan of paprika on the calamari appetizer, but I thought they were good. Unusual on a BBQ menu, but good contrast to beef. I will go back. NOTE: This is in the same building that Anni Venti La Trattoria was in.

Yelp
They've done a great job transforming this spot into a nice BBQ spot! The service was friendly and quick. Food tastes as good or better than some of the big named BBQ restaurants here in east county. Once I started eating the Pulled Pork sandwich I couldn't put it down. Fries and the extra side of Mac and Cheese were great!

Yelp
Just got back from eating here with a group of 4 adults, one kid, and a baby. Honestly, everything was great. Ordering was easy, we ordered the large family meal which was more than enough, with both couples leaving with leftovers. It's a nice place, the staff was very friendly with all of us, just checking in periodically to see if we needed anything. The food was good, I found the beef ribs especially good, but everyone at the table had their meat preferences. As far as the sides go, we ordered extra to try different items and while there's some room for improvement, everything was decent. One thing we noted, the sides were all lower in salt than you would usually expect, but that wasn't a problem as we could always add more if needed. After only being open a few weeks, we were all happy and would definitely be back.

Yelp
First off, my expectations were level when my husband and I chose to have a bbq brunch. I must say, I was delightfully surprised with this place. The pulled pork sandwich was heaven and the mac and cheese was spot on. I ordered a watermelon margarita and it was so tasty as well! My husband ordered a bloody mary and let me try it. The smokehouse flavor was over the top. Tajin rims and very smooth. We will definitely be coming here again!

Yelp
We had a great time with a really beautiful and hospitable work social hour. The staff were friendly and fast, and the food was delicious (there are even vegetarian options which were delicious!). This is a fantastic place for family and friends. Thank you!!!

Yelp
We went here twice and ordered the bbq beans as a side, and both times, no beans. I think they cook somewhere else and then reheat.

Yelp
Had high hopes because the place looks so nice on the outside. The "smoked chicken wings" were plain fried wings, the fries were precooked and warmed up (soggy). The beef brisket was good and the collard greens were good. Service was good and she explained there was inly one cook. Don't think it should have mattered. There were 4 tables occupied.

Yelp
We came here after hearing about this place from our friends for a few months now. We were on a hunt looking for fork tender, nice charred beef ribs...and we found them! The ambiance is like walking into a country feel, old school atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious, also has a coin op game room with 2 pool tables, foos ball table, and I think 3 arcade games. There's also a dollar bill machine that gives you quarters for the games. There's country music playing in the background, so you'll get to enjoy a crooner singing to you while you're enjoying your food or you can watch the TVs they have throughout the restaurant. Their menu has a wide variety, from tacos, to burgers, to good ol finger licking good bbq! There's a soda fountain to wash down your meal, they also have beers on tap, wine and cocktails to enjoy as well. You order at the counter, and the staff will hand you a buzzer, they actually brought our food to us, instead of use getting it ourselves..we were expecting to get up and get it. So we thoroughly enjoyed our fork tender beef rib, so juicy, meat was full of flavor. I loved the collard greens, while my partner loved the smoked beans, lots of flavor. We plan on coming back with a few of our friends to eat and hang out. Great work team! Another place to add to our rotation!

Yelp
Finally some real BBQ in Lemon Grove! Before The Barn House, there were two failed attempts at an Italian restaurant. I love Italian but there is plenty of it in San Diego and many not far from Lemon Grove. BBQ on the other hand is few and far between here. Tonight was our first time trying The Barn House and they did not disappoint. It was busy as well so we were not the only ones enjoying the food. We shared a meal fit for the three of us. Beef and pork ribs, half a chicken with beans and mac and cheese. All of it was incredible! The meat fell right off the bones. It's definitely worth going back for. And there's plenty more on the menu to try. The service was great! You order at the counter and then wait for the buzzer they provide you to pick up your food. The staff then make their rounds to ensure you're enjoying your meal. I like the new design of the restaurant. Still hard to imagine it was once Anna's Restaurant but they did a great job converting it. I really hope The Barn House is a success and remains in Lemon Grove for years to come.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Alberto and Jovanny are amazing chefs and business owners. You can tell they put their heart into The Barn House BBQ. Super clean and relaxing place to enjoy a beer and some really good food. It's an order and then sit, place. The food comes out very fast. The BBQ Pork Ribs, Giant Beef Rib and BBQ Wings were so delicious. Everything was smoked just right. Some of the best I've ever had. Just writing this made my mouth watery. Please don't hesitate to give The Barn House BBQ a try. I'll definitely be back for some more Smoked Giant Beef Rib and Smoked Wings.

Yelp
Brought my nephew to try this new place. Was a great experience. The sauce is fantastic and the meat was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Not a fan. Pulled pork sandwich was not good, beef ribs were tough and BBQ sauce tasted like catsup. French fries are horrible. Greens were okay. Won't return. $50 and didn't like really any of it.

Yelp
Great food, service and local country vibes . Sizes are good, beer is fresh, mac-n-cheese and the smoked cheesecake are delicious amd standouts, also BBQ and buffalo sauce are tasty. Coleslaw could be improved, but other than that fresh ingredients.

Yelp
My husband and I tried The Barn last weekend. The food was very good and Destiny took good care of us. It also had indoor and outdoor seating, a nice vibe.

Yelp
Sadly we went by 7:30 on a Tuesday night and they were closed early. Oh well. It would have been our first time eating here...
