THE BARN

If you haven’t been to The Barn Kitchen and Bar, you’re missing out. This is truly our favorite place. The staff is incredible — warm, attentive, and they genuinely make you feel like family every single time. The food is consistently amazing, full of flavor, and beautifully done. The drinks are just as good, and the beer selection never disappoints. Add in the fun events and lively atmosphere, and it’s the perfect spot for literally any occasion. We keep coming back for a reason — 5 stars all day, every day.

This is a cute place. We went to after church this past sunday.Service was spot on food was great in the atmosphere.Had a nice vibe. We will definitely return. They're french fries and tater.Tots are to die for nice crisp.Whoever worked the fryer the day we were there knew their business!!!

The Barn is easily one of the best places around. The bartenders, servers, and even the bar backs are awesome, friendly, fast, and always on point. The food is amazing every single time, and you can tell everyone there takes pride in what they do. Frank, the owner, goes out of his way to make sure everyone has what they need and leaves happy. Plus, if you’re a football fan, they’ve got every game on. Great people, great food, great atmosphere. Can’t beat it.

We had a great time here getting food tonight. The service was really great and the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this sweet potato fries. They were so crispy and perfect. The burger was perfectly made and they even hand a game for the table ! I highly recommend stopping here. It is totally worth it!

Attended with a group of about 50 people on a night they happened to be playing bingo. It was a fun filled evening with God food, good service, and cold beer. Enjoyed a Maine Lunch IPA along with a patty melt which was decent. Our server Angie did a good job managing the tables an was able to keep the drinks flowing with no major issues.

The Barn is a gem of a casual restaurant and bar that you need to visit! It is easily accessible from Route 80 traveling either Eastbound or Westbound, in Rockaway, NJ. Inside, the dining area is spacious, and tastefully furnished with a nice warm fireplace in the room. The bar area has plenty of seats and TVs for sports fans. Our server Angela B. was so very pleasant, and attentive. She informed us about weekday events held at The Barn (trivia, bingo, vinyl night) and what sounded like a great Brunch Sat/Sun. We will be returning to experience some of them. We started with "Barnachos" ($18) containing a generous portion of pork (carnitas) and the usual nacho components. No pump cheese here though! Yay My wife had a lovely Greek salad ($19) with feta, grilled chicken, olives, onions, etc. I had a Meat Lovers pizza: pepperoni, sausage, cheese, sauce, peppers, onions, olives, etc ($22). The pizza was served piping hot. The portions were all generous and the food was delicious. We were too full for dessert! The menu really has something for everyone but everything on it has a special twist to it. Attached photo lists the Fall/Holiday events hosted by The Barn.

I hosted my daughter and future son-in-law’s engagement party (brunch) here this weekend and am so pleased this is where I chose to have the event. The owner, Frank, was great to work with from start to finish and the staff was super-attentive and efficient. The food was excellent and plentiful and my guests commented on what a nice party it was. I will definitely be back for future events and would recommend this venue to others.

Went for breakfast with our dogs and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, the food was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly. The owner came and spoke with us and you could tell he was a genuinely kind and interested in making sure everything was great. (And it was). On a side note the dog menu was so cool. They brought dog bowls with water, and the dog portion size was way more than we anticipated (they said thank you!). Only issue was our dog had trouble deciding what she wanted as everything sounded good. (Us too). I would without a doubt recommend the Barn and go back again.

Driving on the 80 and we needed some breakfast. Did a quick yelp search and boy were we lucky this place was 5 mins away. We got there at 10 on a Saturday morning. Service was prompt and friendly. Great breakfast menu. The sausage was really delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. Cute place. Updated cabin look :) The music was a little sleepy felt like cocktail hour music or something. A group of local parents were coming in to sit at the bar and watch some game together. Such a nice neighborhood place. Wish we had something like this where we live.

I am not usually "wowed" enough to write a review, but this place absolutely deserves one. My husband and I visited on 12/31/25 for their New Year's Eve Bash, and even though I'm a little late writing this, the experience was too good not to share. The owners, Mel and Frank, along with the entire staff, went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. Mel even went out of her way to snag us a table right near the band! Our servers, Angie and Bailee, were incredible. Despite how busy it was, they stopped by frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. I have truly never had waitstaff be that attentive during a major event. As for the food--I didn't eat much, but the Burrata was TO DIE FOR! Thank you to The Barn Kitchen & Bar for reminding me that there are still restaurants out there that truly care about their customers. We will definitely be back!

Four and one half stars. This review is for breakfast only. We have been to the Barn a couple times over the years when it was under previous management. It was run of the mill at best. I'm happy to say that I was very impressed with my first experience at this new incarnation. We were there for breakfast with Santa. The spacious dining area was tastefully appointed with holiday decor. The breakfast menu has lots of interesting options. I selected the Opa-Let Omelette. Haloumi, Grape Tomatoes, Gyro Meat, Oregano & Olives. It is a fresh take on a Greek omelette. Very flavorful and delicious. My wife ordered the Hang Over burger. Two smashed beef patties, American cheese and Taylor ham, topped with a sunny side up egg. It was outstanding. My daughter ordered the Barn's take on Eggs Benedict. Classic preparation but in place of Canadian bacon they use Taylor ham. It was excellent as well. The service was a little spotty but I'm not complaining. I think they may have been a bit overwhelmed from the breakfast with Santa theme. On that note the actors portraying Mr. and Mrs. Claus were among the best I have ever seen. Friendly, jolly, real beard and excellent costumes. I look forward to dining at the Barn again in the near future for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Had a nice early Sunday afternoon brunch in December 2025. Not too busy, but I hear it can be at times. Four of us were seated right away and we enjoyed the service and breakfast choices. Very enjoyable.

I love this place!! It's beautiful interior makes you feel like you're in an oversized cabin. The servers here are all friendly and happy to quickly serve you. The food and drink menu is extensive and has something for everyone. No frills, just a fun time with a tasty bite. Check this place out, if you haven't already!!

What a great find while we were in the middle of nowhere! This is a place that should exist in every county as it really hits the spot on so many levels. I loved the vibe and concept this place had. All the food we ordered was fantastic and the drinks were good too. I wish we had more people so I could have tried out more food, but we were only able to order the shrimp pasta and nachos w/ minced meat (aka chili). The shrimp pasta was fantastic. Often times at these types of restaurants/gastropubs, the pastas can be very subpar, but we were blown away with how good this dish was. The sauce was tasty, the shrimp grilled to perfection and the pasta and veggies very very good. The side salad was also very fresh and the dressing was great. The nachos were great as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wish this place were closer so I could come here again to try the different dishes, but fingers crossed they open up a location in Bergen County!

Out in NJ for a wedding and after checking into the hotel stopped in The Barn for lunch. Perfect place to grab food and drinks. Staff were particularly welcoming and friendly. Menu offered both breakfast and lunch options and I would strongly recommend the Market Omelette ( topped off with guacamole ) with hash browns. In addition the grits with brown sugar tasted like they came from the south. The pork tacos and French Dip were delicious and all items were well portioned. You don't come out hungry. Restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating along with a large bar area. Weekends they offer live bands. Nice selection of beers to boot. If I'm ever in Rockway again I'll certainly stop by The Barn again.

This was our first meal at the barn since it changed hands. We never used to like it, but this visit was very different in a good way! We went for brunch, and the menu was interesting and had a great variety. I wanted something sweet and something salty, so we decided to split the pistachio and Nutella pancakes. I got the Taylor ham bagel sandwich and hubby had the southern Benedict- we both loved everything. Not to mention service was stellar! Will definitely be going back.

If you ever visited the Chit Chat Diner in Hackensack back when it was in its prime...the owner there and his amazing team have landed at this new location and their brunch is insane!!! The cinnamon swirl pancakes and the Southern Ben were beyond delicious! This will be our new go to spot for sure!

Short Rib Melt was absolutely delish. I will go back for a to go meal. I graduated from Nursing school so I still had my pinning outfit in. Got quite a few looks but other than that, it was a place to definitely go back for. The waitress was super nice and friendly. I wish I had taken a picture of my food. Next time!

Went here for a family brunch at the recommendation of one of my family members. Went on a Sunday for noon and the restaurant was somewhat crowded with multiple other large tables reserved near us but all the other parties were far enough away that we weren't crowded and it wasn't hard to hear one another talk. Our server was attentive and came back often to check to make sure we had drink refills, etc. I ordered the Tiramisu French Toast Tower and it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was pretty much french toast layered with hard lady fingers cookies in between and some strawberry pieces on top. It had very little mascarpone cheese, had no whipped cream or anything else really to make it stand out. Also some of the french toast was burnt. I tried to eat the hard lady fingers with the french toast and it wasn't a good combination so I moved all of them to the side and just ate the french toast which was ok. Hubby ordered one of their breakfast skillets and oddly it didn't come in a skillet like we thought. He said that everything in the dish was burnt and he didn't know until he took a bite since it was covered with a lot of cheese. It also didn't have very many potatoes. I'm not sure how everyone else liked their food in our party but I saw mostly clean plates so I presume everyone else enjoyed their meals. We all then shared a bunch of desserts which were good. I would come here again as they have a large menu and I'd like to try something else next time.

The food is so delicious and there is a great variety of menu options from Tacos to pasta to Asian delicacies seafood and steak The staff is very friendly and the rustic atmosphere is casual and cozy The shitake mushroom noodles are crazy good also enjoy the tacos portions are very ample full service bar available with nice beer selection I tend to enjoy an IPA which they have a nice variety

This restaurant was amazing and complete with a dog menu!!! Food for PAWrent was amazing and the staff was wonderful!! My dog gave his brunch 4 paws up as well! This restaurant is incredibly dog friendly! Highly recommend a visit! Follow @DoggieRoadTrippin on instagram for more dog friendly spots!

It's sad to see what has happened to this establishment. When in the other day for a pizza and it was like plastic cheese and tomato sauce on stale bread. Not exactly up to Jersey standards for a bar pie. Hope the old ingredients and menus and recipes come back.

I have been bringing the Passaic Valley Gymnastics team there for at least the last 7 years. We always go before the Haunted Hayride. The girls love the place and the food. The service is amazing !!! Last Friday our waitress was Angie and she was awesome with the girls !!!

My wife and I ate the Barn for breakfast in mid-June 2025, and it was extremely good! My wife had the "Lox'd and Loaded" benedict and loved it, and I had the short rib benedict and overall liked it, except for one thing: Most things on the menu go into great detail as to what ingredients are in the dish, but for some reason the short rib benedict leaves out the fact that there are peppers and onions mixed in with the short rib. I'm not allergic to them, I can eat them, but don't really like either one, so I spent a lot of time trying to pick through and pick them out before I could eat. Thankfully I enjoyed the flavor of the dish, but when it looks like the menu goes into a lot of detail about all of the other dishes on the menu, why was this detail left out? All of the staff were extremely friendly and honestly everything on the menu sounded REALLY good.

This place was great! Located right across from our hotel. Cocktails were perfect and food was great. Went there two days in a row. Loved the patio setting.

The Barn is a solid pick for a chill lunch with friends. Came by on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy, so service was fast and friendly. I had the cheesesteak--super flavorful, melty cheese, and that perfect crunchy bread. Also snagged a slice of the vodka pizza, which had a thin, tasty crust I'd definitely go back for. Easy spot, good vibes, and the food hits the mark!

Love the atmosphere, but love the bread more. So warm so fresh so much yes! The pizza was good, service was quick, atmosphere was immaculate! I want to shout out Logan and Todd for being top notch Barn-Brothas, those BB's know how to make people welcome. I will definitely be back, I wanna check out Bingo. I friggin love bingo. God bless

We absolutely love going to The Barn in Rockaway NJ. Weather it is to grab a bite to eat, which there are no complaints, only kudos for everything we've tried (and we ordered so many different meals, appetizers and drinks), to game nights and phenomenal DJ Nights Whatever your jam is, you'll leave The Barn in Rockaway NJ having had a great comfort meal or dancing the night away or a great time playing Bingo or Trivia Games with prizes no less. Keep up the delicious food, great events and we'll keep coming back

Had a delicious breakfast at The Barn! Staff were so nice and friendly! Lots of parking, not sure why the app said validated parking. Patio was beautiful and relaxing.

Food Service in atmosphere and the warm welcome is five star. If you have not been to the Rockaway River barn, you should definitely stop by and check it out. Their wings are excellent as well.

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. Terrible service and food. Idk what happened to this place but whatever it is.... Don't waste your time or money.

The old rockaway river barn was way better, the new menu is boring, the service is slow and the quality is not want the barn used to be under the old owner. The new owners had a golden egg in a restaurant and now it's horrible.

Excellent food and unbelievably warm staff. Been twice now and will be regulars. Very dog friendly!

We finally tried this for breakfast and went 2 weekends in a row food was great the owner was there serving he was great this business suffered from the sinkhole issue on 80 but worth a shot

Never had a bad meal here not even one time OWNER's nice guy. Staff is usually accommodating all around a good place. Good food good drink good people.

I hosted a baby shower here and it was a perfect affair! The food-Sunday Brunch-was delicious and plentiful. The service couldn't have been better-especially Giana and Andrew. Frank was a pleasure to work with as I was planning from a distance. The Fireplace Room was cozy while still providing plenty of space for 30 guests, buffet tables, plus three other shower tables. I highly recommend The Barn for hosting your next event, enjoying a Sunday brunch or a relaxing dinner with friends. We did all three and couldn't be happier!

The place is immaculate and has a great outdoor space for when the weather is nice. We had the pork chop and the short rib and they were both amazing. Highly recommend for quality food and nice clean atmosphere. Service was also spot on with both the waitress and hostess. Will be back!
